Terry Jones Quran (Koran) Burning Is Just One System Of Idolatry Versus Another

Terry Jones, pastor of Dove World Outreach Center, is planning to commemorate the 9th anniversary of September 11th by burning copies of the Qu’ran (Koran), which is regarded as the holy book for those who practice Islam. These intentions have horrified a great number of people. Many of them, including of course Muslims and also Bible-believing Christians, are no doubt sincere in their intense opposition to this event. Many others, however, are of course grandstanding hypocrites who passionately defend and take pleasure in similar attacks against Christianity and those who practice it. However, there is another group of hypocrites that figure prominently in this controversy, as they were the ones who laid the very groundwork for such a thing as this to happen with their words, doctrines and deeds. Many Christians involved in “religious right” politics are falling over themselves to denounce Jones and his actions as un-Christian, taking full advantage of the opportunity to publicly exhibit their opposition to bigotry. These religious right Christians have spent decades preaching the false gospel of what can be called “Americhristianity“, a syncretism of (false) Christianity and America worship. Realize this: Terry Jones is being consistent here. He is only practicing what his religion preaches, and so is the “Ameri-Christian” who commits a “hate crime” against a Muslim, illegal immigrant, abortion doctor, homosexual or what have you. For the religious right sorts to disseminate their idolatrous doctrines and then disavow the consequences is no different from the imam who preaches jihad and then distances himself from the suicide bomber. Now do not get me wrong, only a tiny percentage of Muslims commit violence based on their religious beliefs. But make no mistake: the same is true of Ameri-Christians.

This should not surprise anyone, as violence is a logical consequence of idolatry. A look at Romans 1:18-32 shows us the evil that following dead idols causes: being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful, etc. Muslims get angry over a Florida pastor burning a Qu’ran? Well, a Florida pastor received death threats from the Ameri-Christians in his own congregation over his removing the American flag from the pulpit! His motivation? Wanting the church to focus on Jesus Christ!

Time to rewind a bit. A lot of people have made false equivalence between burning Bibles and burning the Qu’ran. This is apples and oranges because where Christians merely respect and cherish Bibles, Muslims actually regard copies of the Qu’ran as holy. Essentially, to the Muslim, the Qu’ran is an idol. Christians have no such view of the Bible, because Christianity holds that only God is holy. Thus, the only way to be holy is through a connection to or relationship with God. Born-again Christians are hence holy because God grants us this status through Jesus Christ, and also because God’s Holy Spirit indwells the Christian. So, in Christianity, one commits no sin against anything holy by burning a Bible. Instead, the Christian commits a sin against that which is holy when he sins against his body by breaking God’s commandments to us (see 1 Corinthians 6:18). (Among those commandments? Not to be an idolater!)

So why the difference between the Christian view of the Bible and the Muslim view of the Qu’ran? Return to Romans 1:18-32. It tells us that early in the history of the human race, beginning with Adam and for a time thereafter, man knew God. Now this may give pause to Christians who are conditioned to see God’s being known to man, particularly in a special or religious sense, through Old Testament Judaism and Christianity. Please recall that the Bible is not a comprehensive history, but concentrates on that which is necessary for salvation. Also, the Bible does speak of those who had a relationship with him prior to the calling of Abraham, a group which includes Abel, Enoch, Noah, Melchizedek and Job. The Bible says that men began to call upon the Name of Yahweh in Genesis 4:26. “Call upon the Name” means to worship. Now God had been worshiped prior to that, for remember Abel’s sacrifice, an act of worship that God accepted. Also, the divine Name Yahweh was already known to humanity at that time, as Eve used it in Genesis 4:1 on the occasion of Cain’s birth. So, whatever development that Genesis 4:26 is supposed to refer to exactly, it is clear that at that stage, humanity had knowledge of God by worshiping Him using God’s personal Name.

However, by Genesis 6, things had changed. The population of the earth increased, and man became extremely wicked. Mankind had perverted himself, and as a result the earth was filled with violence. The cause of this? Again, Romans 1:18-32 says that wicked imaginations, perverse natures and violence comes from idolatry, and it also strongly suggests that at this time mankind completely gave himself over to this practice. Verses 21-25 read:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Mankind ceased to worship God, the unseen Spirit, and instead worshiped creatures, meaning things that are created. This included the use of tangible, physical objects that represent entities or ideas – idols – in worship. And to the idolater, the creature, or its symbolic representative stand-in, is itself regarded as “holy”, and even may be considered to have magical or supernatural powers. If nothing else, the idol is a very valuable, cherished and beloved possession because of what it represents to its owner. So, mankind totally gave himself over to rejecting the holiness of the Creator in order to embrace the idea that things created – whether by God or man – were worthy of this reverent status instead.

Because this mindset was embedded in fallen humanity, God condescended to mankind’s status and incorporated some elements of it in the Sinai religion given by Moses to the Jews. Because of this, in Old Testament Judaism, certain days, holidays (or “holy days”), observances, places, objects and rituals were declared holy. However, we must realize that these things were so because God declared them to be as such. Also, God had His purposes. For instance, things that came into contact with God’s presence or were used in giving offerings to God had to be set apart and purified in order to teach Israel about God’s sinless nature and man’s sinfulness. Further, other things were declared holy because of Christological typology.

So what must be emphasized is that things like the temple, the altar, the ark of the covenant, the burnt offering tools etc. were not holy in and of themselves, but were only so because of their identification with God, their proximity to His presence and their use in His plan. It was never an endorsement of the idea that objects, places, rituals or even ideologies were to be considered holy, contained some spiritual or magical powers, imparted grace, and treated that such. So, when Jesus Christ fulfilled all things concerning the Sinai religion that was used as a schoolmaster to bring us to Him (Galatians 3:24-25) the idea of “holy things” ended. Evidence of this was the ripping of the veil of the temple.

However, the desire of people call things other than God holy did not end. As a consequence, Islam reveres not only its books, but its (alleged) prophet, buildings, cities (Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem), and even nations that are fully under Muslim control as holy. But the issue here is that it is not unique to Islam, but is also present in false versions of Christianity. Consider Catholicism (Roman and Orthodox) with its sacraments that according to their teachings impart grace, and its seemingly endless assortment of “saints”, icons, relics etc. that are targets of “veneration” because of some spiritual or mystical reason or other.

What does this have to do with Terry Jones? Well, his Ameri-Christianity is more of the same. His Qu’ran burning is not being done for theological reasons. If it were, he would also burn the Book of Mormon, the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Watchtower Magazine, and articles from other false faiths. Instead, Jones is singling out the Qu’ran because he has bought into the right wing dogma that Islam constitutes some sort of threat to the American way of life. And since Ameri-Christianity is this blend of certain – but not all – Christian doctrines and some – but again not all – American ideas and traditions, in the eyes of the Ameri-Christian like Jones, an attack on one is an attack on the other.

Make no mistake, whether they support this Qu’ran burning of Jones or not, religious right Ameri-Christians worship the creature besides the Creator. This great nation of ours is but a creature. Further, as Old Testament Israel was the only nation to be created by God, it is a creation of men. And God did not create our institutions or system of laws as He did with Old Testament Israel. Instead, men created democracy (where the Bible only deals with monarchy and theocracy), men created capitalism (which did not even exist until the groundwork for it was accidentally laid by John Calvin), and men created the concept of individual and human rights (the result of Enlightenment philosophers’ taking portions of the Roman Catholic concept of natural law that they found useful and applying it to the secular arena). Ameri-Christians have taken these works of human hands to be the result of divine providence, and quite possibly even divine revelation, and therefore in their eyes to oppose them is to oppose God, and supporting them is part and parcel of the gospel of Jesus Christ. You can turn on conservative talk radio – or even Christian radio – at any time and hear so many Christians profess “I believe in and support the Bible and the Constitution 100%” when the truth is that not only does one not have anything to do with the other, but that the worldviews of the Bible (divine revelation) and the Constitution (humanism and deism) are opposed. The Bible is the Word of God, the Constitution is the word of Caesar. Render under Caesar that which is Caesar’s, but give to God that which is God, and never shall the twain be intermixed!

Now again, let us go back to the Biblically established truth that idolatry leads to violence and apply it to Ameri-Christianity. How many Christians accept without question the idea that the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were justified in order to protect the American way of life because it includes the ability to practice Christianity freely? How many of us even justify this concept with thinking like “America needs to remain free and prosperous so that American Christians will have the financial resources to sponsor missions and help the poor in third world countries.” Well dear Christians, the early church of Acts was neither free OR wealthy, yet they managed to evangelize the Roman Empire AND meet the needs of the poor!

Consider another example. How many Christians advocate – or would refuse to criticize – the killing of a robber that is only taking money or property and not physically endangering anyone? Truthfully, very few, because we have the conviction that “we have the right/responsibility to protect our private property.” Now do not err by bringing up the law given to Old Testament Israel concerning executing thieves. A person operating under New Testament doctrine knows that human life is more valuable than property, and that it is better to spare a thief in the hopes that he might hear the gospel down the line than to blow him away after the manner of some Clint Eastwood or Charles Bronson movie. This is further evidence that mammon (possessions, “rights”, and the pleasures and passions that we obtain from them) is the true god of the Ameri-Christian.

Consider that such people live in fear of losing their freedoms, their rights and way of life. Well, what freedom, what rights does a slave have? What way of life does a slave enjoy except that which his master dictates? Now the legitimate Christian is a slave to Jesus Christ. The slave of Jesus Christ is able to find joy, peace, fulfillment and all else that he needs whether he is free prince in America or an oppressed pauper in Indonesia. Ameri-Christians reject slavery to Christ in favor of the idea of being their own masters. Being Christian is merely another lifestyle decision that they choose for themselves, and quite frankly they would find practicing Christianity under adverse or oppressive conditions to be more burdensome than liberating.

Thus, it would not surprise me the least if an Ameri-Christian is far more likely to suffer the experience of enduring living in a poor, oppressive overseas regime as a member of the military and therefore willing and ready to kill if ordered to do so by the creature than as a missionary sharing the gift of eternal life if ordered to do so by the Creator. To such a person, making such a lifestyle sacrifice in order to mete out death in defense of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” is more agreeable than doing so in order to share the message of life and life more abundantly. And we can only imagine what such a person would think of the one who is a conscientious objector because of the teachings of Jesus Christ on the Sermon of the Mount! For the Ameri-Christian, “the American way of life” is morally and theologically prior to the New Testament.

This ideology is guilty of recognizing one of the main themes of the Sinai religion of the Old Testament. Consider the offering altar. It could only be made of earth, or of a single stone. It could not be made of hewn stone or constructed in any way, because the tools used to make the altar were unholy, and that which was holy was not allowed to mix or come in contact with that which was holy. That was a principle that held for everything and everyone that came into contact with God’s presence, or was used in making an offering to God. If anything common or regular came into contact with anything or anyone that was supposed to make an offering to God or be in God’s presence, then the thing that was supposed to be holy had to go through a purification process.

This was supposed to teach Christians that God is unique, separate and holy and cannot be mixed with or attached to anything worldly, common or unclean. That is what Ameri-Christianity does. It takes the worldly, common things (culture, economics, politics, ideology) and attempts to fuse it with the holiness of God’s Holy Spirit and presence. The result is something that is no longer clean, holy or spiritual, and hence no longer legitimately Christian. Think about that the next time that you hear someone declare that America is “a Christian nation.” Such a thing cannot exist, because it is a mixture of a common creature (America) with a Holy Creator. The very tools that were used to construct America defile it, making it an unworthy altar, and we cannot make an acceptable offering to God on an unclean altar that God rejects. Thus, the person who in any sense joins being American with being Christian is only capable of making an offering to God after the manner of Cain. And let us recall that this same Cain slew Abel, who made the acceptable offering.

And this is why the actions of one Terry Jones, and also of the many other religious right Ameri-Christians doing their best to distance themselves from him because being associated with them hurts their economy in the American political mainstream that they desire and need to remain relevant and powerful in, should be taken notice of. Again, Ameri-Christianity is idolatry. Idolatry leads to violence. And the primary target of idolatrous violence is going to be any non-idolaters that are available. As Galatians 4:29 tells us, those who are of the flesh persecute those who are of the spirit, just as Cain slew righteous Abel and Ishmael persecuted Isaac.

And remember the prediction of Jesus Christ in John 16:2! Can it be that Ameri-Christians may believe that by persecuting us for being “un-American” that they are doing God service? Consider the Glenn Beck rally, where not a few evangelical Ameri-Christians joined this dominionist crusader in his Mormonism worship rally. If the economic problems continue, illegal immigration persists and the American way is threatened by enemies like Iran and North Korea abroad and liberals at home, will the refusal to join ecumenical/interfaith Americanism movements be seen as a betrayal of God? Judging from Ameri-Christian David Barton, who states that we should “judge Beck by his fruits” (meaning his effective support of the religious right agenda), you can guess the answer. So, Christian, what are you going to do when the Ameri-Christian comes for you bearing chains and staves to deliver you to the authorities? Will you stand? Or will you wilt and refuse to profess that Jesus Christ is Lord of all?

That, of course, presumes that you are indeed a Christian and not an Ameri-Christian. Which are you? Today you must make your stand. If you worship God, worship Him only. If you worship Baal, worship Baal only. How long will you halt between two opinions? If you are on the Lord’s side, then flee the syncretism! Come out of Babylon and the abomination of her idols immediately! Otherwise, when Babylon falls – and she will fall – you will with her.

Against Creation Care: Environmentalism And Evolution One And The Same

This post by brother Laz got me thinking about the common thread of thought which unites evolution and environmentalism. As far as global warming and pretty much all environmentalism goes (including “creation care” evangelicalism), it is just another way to reject the fact that God owns and controls the earth. God will determine the fate of mankind, when this cosmos comes to an end and is replaced with a heaven and a new earth. This global warming zealotry, with is religious intensity, is simply another way to reject God, and to replace the Christian belief system with another.

This is the same that motivates evolution. Evolution advocates are motivated by their determination to reject the idea that God owns creation and controls it. Now some, including a number of professed Christians, are willing to acknowledge that God accomplished creation. However, they are unwilling to acknowledge that God wholly owns it, sustains it, holds it in His hands, and is the sole determiner of its ultimate destiny. Acknowledging this fact makes man accountable to God, and requires that man live his life in service to Him. Environmentalism – the idea that man can destroy the earth either against God’s will or with God doing nothing to stop it – and evolution are merely attempts to deny that man’s purpose is nothing other than to serve, worship and glorify God. That is the sum total of the purpose and reason for man’s existence, it is the reason why God created man. Denying our imperative to serve God is the motivating factor for denying or minimizing God’s role in our creation through evolution, and the same is the goal of denying that God will determine the destiny of the earth and humankind through environmentalism.

And it explains the religious fervor attached to both, and the vehement Inquisition-like tactics that those who reject environmentalism and evolution are subjected to. Indeed, global warming dissenters are actually now
being accused of killing people (i.e. inaction on climate change because of skeptics is alleged to have caused natural disasters, diseases, famines etc.) and there are even claims that opposition to evolution is hindering medical breakthroughs that would save many lives. Such people are advancing the case that opposition to environmentalism and evolution can no longer be matters of private conscience, opinions that must be abided in a free society, but dangerous deadly notions that must be stamped out in order to save lives, or even humanity.

Of course, as evolution and environmentalism constitutes a different and competing belief system – a religion if you will – to Christianity, this should be no surprise. Why should the global warming/evolution crowd be any more accommodating to Christianity than Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, or the mythology of the ancient Roman Empire? The issue, then is why so many professed evangelicals are choosing the path of syncretism by becoming anti-global warming “creation care” Christians, thereby mixing a belief system based on and motivated by denying God’s sovereignty, providence, omnipotence, ownership rights over creation, and prerogative to exercise those rights with a Christian belief system that affirms all of those as core doctrines.

It is even more curious that many of these people fully embrace the “creation care” part while rejecting the evolution part, blissfully blinded to the fact that they are one and the same. Evidence of this is the common justification for the “creation care” idea: God gave (ceded!) dominion of the earth to man (Adam) so we must use it wisely. That is merely quasi-deism which ignores a great deal of Biblical content, including but not limited to the effects of the fall of Adam (i.e. the curse on Adam and rule of the earth transferring from Adam to Satan) and of course Jesus Christ being the second Adam and creation’s current, forever and rightful ruler. But then again, when your goal is to be relevant and influential within the cultural and political mainstream, why let a little theology or syncretism get in the way? And amazing that the dispensationalists among the creation care movement seem oblivious to the fact that the global warming ideology is ultimately motivated by a desire to reject the book of Revelation and the judgment of God upon the earth that it describes!

More Evidence That Barack HUSSEIN Obama Is Following After Martin Luther King: He Adheres To The Abominations Of The Religions Of India

In case you did not know, Martin Luther King Jr. developed his philosophy of “nonviolent” subversive political tactics by merging SELECTIVE AND OUT OF CONTEXT doctrines of Christianity and the jainism religion of India. Well, the fellow who has often been identified as King’s successor, Barack HUSSEIN Obama, is going one step further. See, King’s aims in co – opting both jainism and a partial set of Christianity were entirely secular and political. It looks more and more like Barack HUSSEIN Obama, meanwhile, is either personally committed to or is at least heavily promoting a religious system of India out of some strong commitment to religious pluralism. When you consider his religious links to not only Jeremiah Wright but new age witch Oprah Winfrey, that is not surprising. Please consider the information below.

You may recall in an earlier post, I noted how both of the leading Presidential candidates engage in idolatry. I noted how Obama keeps a pagan idol, Hanuman, Hinduism’s popular monkey god in his pocket. Well, some people felt it should not be considered a major issue. Some people felt it was noting that indicated a serious issue of idolatry in the life of the President elect. Well the folks who wanted to give Obama a 2-foot gold plated statue of Hanuman, that has been prayed over by 12 Hindu priests, have been seeking continually to get it to him. And Obama, instead of treating it as something he might keep in a garage, or better refuse, has made it known he will keep this false monkey god in his Presidential chamber.

Congressman Bhama says Hanuman helped Obama     

NEW DELHI: Barack Obama couldn’t have made the giant leap to the White House as the first Afro-American President in the US without the divine blessings of an Indian god. That is the firm belief of elected member of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Brij Mohan Bhama. “It was the magic of Pawanputra Hanuman that did it all,” asserts a convinced Bhama, a devoted Obama fan. “It is the truimph of Lord Hanuman on the soils of America,” he declares, and nothing can shake his belief-in Obama or Hanuman’s blessings.

Bhama claimed he had been flooded with grateful smses and emails since the results to the US polls were announced. He was thanked for his staunch support for Obama. “I sent out a congratulatory email to the president elect early in the morning,” he said, as he talked about the email id he had specially created to rally support for Obama. The id was called bhamaobama.

Some may have concerns about Obama’s India policies, but Bhama will hear none of it.’`He is a Democrat, yet he extended his full support to the nuclear deal. His ethnicity will automatically make him a friend of this country,” he said.

In July this year, Bhama created waves of excitement when he organised a special puja by 12 priests at the Sankat Mochan Dham on Pusa Road for Obama’s victory. At the time, Bhama gifted a two-foot high, gold-plated idol of Hanuman to Obama.

“I had a conversation with Obama in July and he promised to install the idol at his chamber once he was elected President,” smiles the elated Congressman. Now he plans to visit the White House after January 20, 2009, to present the Hanuman idol. “Along with a delegation, I will go to the US to gift him the idol. So far, American law forbade him from accepting any overseas gift that cost more than $10. But, now that he will be president, no such problem will arise,” said Bhama. The idol at present is lording over in a temple in New Jersey, he adds.

Bhama says Obama’s success run began soon after he accepted the gift and agreed to keep it in his office. “When we gifted him the idol, he was not even the Democrats’ presidential nominee. But, after that, he was not just elected as the Democrats’ candidate but also won,” he added.

According to media reports, among Obama’s good luck charms are “a bracelet belonging to a soldier deployed in Iraq, a gambler’s lucky chit and a tiny Madonna and child, and a tiny monkey god.”

And what do you know, he carries a Mary idol too!

Now from this point in this post, I could go and expound on how anyone claiming to be Christian is warned to flee from idolatry. I mean 1 Corinthians 10Acts 15Galatians 51 John 5 and so many other scriptures make it profoundly clear, that nobody claiming the Lord’s name is to EVER engage in idolatry. But there’s only one I’m going to focus on in this post, because it’s short and to the point. With Obama, we have a man who has openly denied that Jesus is the only means of salvation, which totally denies Jesus is the one true Christ and hope for salvation. It’s heresy, a secular humanistic form of Universalism, that he and those like him promote, that asserts someone’s good works can bring them salvation. He’s totally embraced idols, many idols. He has spewed all manner of heresies. He totally has the posture of a politician who claims Christianity because it goes over well in election polling. But he’s not showing the true fruit of a saint, I mean not at all. So the one passage of scripture I want to put focus on, is the one I really hope some pastor who knows the truth might be able to reach the President elect with.

Revelation 22:15 (New American Standard Bible)     

15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.

Now I know the President elect has denied the truth of the Word of God, in his clams that passages in the book of Romans are “obscure”. And trying to act as if red letters can be played against all other scripture; which defies all scripture is to be taken as equal weight and God breathed, 2 Timothy 3:16 and 2 Peter 1:20-21. But I’d still prefer someone share the truth with him.

So, Islam, Roman Catholicism, eastern religions, a liberation theology version of Protestantism, a willingness to make some of the more moderate evangelicals happy by making it clear that he “respects” them (which is a big thing for them, respect from the world), plus a healthy dose of Ivy League intellectual skepticism to mollify the atheist crowd that he is as good as they are going to get anytime soon. Looks like Hussein Obama has all the bases covered. It is not one world religion, but it is definitely a strong move towards that direction. And please remember that Martin Luther King, Jr. in getting world Christianity to respect syncretism with eastern religions using his “nonviolent civil rights movement” Trojan horse helped pave the way.

By the way, pagan idolatrous symbolism is apparently very important to this Obama character. Remember his Democratic national convention acceptance speech?

DENVER (Reuters) – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos’ National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington’s Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party’s nomination for president.

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.

The show should provide a striking image for the millions of Americans watching on television as Obama delivers a speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination.

Politicians in past elections have typically spoken from the convention site itself, but the Obama campaign liked the idea of having their man speak to a larger, stadium-sized crowd not far from where the Democratic National Convention is being held, at the Denver pro basketball arena.

Obama was taking a page from the campaign book of John Kennedy in 1960 when the future president delivered his acceptance speech to 80,000 people in the Los Angeles Coliseum.

Once Obama speaks, confetti will rain down on him and fireworks will be fired off from locations around the stadium wall.

So in the tradition of man (idol) worship, with Obama being the (idol) cult focal point, Barack Hussein Obama, Junior will be in a Greek temple replica giving his speech. Then there will be celebration once Obama (the idol) is finished addressing the crowd. It’s bad enough that this nation’s Capitol building and White House resemble buildings constructed for idolatry, but now Team Obama is knowingly promoting the cult “temple” vision. I guess they didn’t want to do it like other candidates, when they can further promote idolatry with their own “temple”.

Sure I know some of you disagree, but there is a not very subtle promotion of an idol going on here. And now they’ve constructed him a temple. They hope he goes to the even larger temple. To spread the doctrine of Obama and they feel that will heal our land. It is why this man is being played up in ways beyond many presidential candidates before him, because for many he is a living idol. The Democratic convention opened to the theme of Universalism and will close around the central cult figure, Obama.

Now I have not paid much attention to the messianic cult that surrounds Obama in large part because other nations and cultures have traditionally revered their leaders in a similar manner. As a matter of fact, it was not uncommon even in the west in times past. You should see some of the songs, sonnets and artwork composed to honor monarchs, for instance. So I am going to chalk that up to America reverting back to historical norms or taking on the traits of other cultures before I make anything exceptional of it, especially when you consider some of the nonsense stories that used to be traded about George Washington, that he was “bulletproof” because of some special calling or standing that this FREEMASON allegedly had from God and other such rabble. (Amazing how we used to indoctrinate our kids. Political correctness and multiculturalism largely just replaced one form of indoctrination with another.)

Incidentally, there is a story, probably true, about Abraham Lincoln that is relevant here. It is said that an emancipated slave prostrated himself before Lincoln to express his gratitude to the president for his freedom and that of others. According to the story, Lincoln told the man to get up and to give thanks to God for his freedom. Again, if this tale is true, please contrast the refusal of a political leader to receive human praise to the vanity of this current one who seems to demand and require it. I still recall how Obama definitely was angered and lost his composure – and it took him awhile to regain it! – when John McCain dared to question his notions of being great and high and lifted up with that Britney Spears/Paris Hilton commercial. Well, Obama, there is only one that is truly Holy. There is only one that is truly High and Lifted Up. There is only one that is truly deserving of praise. You are not Him. Instead, you will stand before Him in judgment, bow, and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Are you ready for that day, Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.? Your mother, father, grandmother and grandfather have gone on before you, and their fates are sealed. But what of your fate, Mr. Obama? What of you and your house?

Mr. Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. please remember Isaiah 14. Also, please recall Ezekiel 28:12-19. It is true that the prophets Isaiah and Ezekiel were speaking to Satan. It is also true that they were speaking to the king of Tyre, in whom there was a form of Satan’s pride and vanity that caused his downfall. Mr. Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. it is God who raises up rulers to do His will, not false gods like Hanuman. It was not the skull that those Peruvian shamans had their seance ritual over that got you elected either! It was God who raised you up. And if you continue in the ways of pride and vanity like the king of Tyre, like the king of Tyre and of Satan as well, your downfall is coming.

Jesse Duplantis On CBN Promoting New Age Metaphysics

First, please note that CBN strategically placed Jesse Duplantis on their broadcast to serve a political purpose. The Robertsons have billion dollar business interests that greatly benefit whenever a Republican wins the White House. That explains why Robertson got behind Rudy Giuliani early on: he correctly figured that a more liberal candidate was his party’s best chance of holding onto the White House and furthering his businesses. Now that the situation in Iraq has calmed, perhaps the biggest burden that the GOP must carry is economic uncertainty. So, the very negative jobs report that was released on the day of the broadcast plays into the very mood that could result in an Obama presidency that would mean many millions less for the Robertson empire. So right after the story on the jobs report, out they trot Jesse Duplantis with a message that Christians have nothing to fear from a bad economy. A true and Biblical message, right? Not when it is perverted with the false Word of Faith/prosperity doctrine that Duplantis, Robertson, and fellow travelers push like drugs. Duplantis opens by telling people not to have faith in God’s plan for their lives and His ability to bring it to pass with His control of world events and history, but rather to have faith in “their seed.” Later Duplantis says, “Yes, the economy may take a downturn, but I can take the attitude that I will not participate.” That is New Age metaphysical teaching that people can create and conform a new reality around their thoughts, which in truth is nothing but denying and refuse to deal with the hard truths of life – the quickest way for a Christian to lose his faith – and is even a form of self brainwashing that can lead to madness. Strong delusion, indeed! Duplantis closes his politically and financially motivated apostasy lecture with an odd embrace of an unsophisticated form of the open theism heresy advanced by such intellectual leaders of the Pentecostal movement as theologian and megachurch pastor Greg Boyd. Duplantis claims that he had reached the point where he did not have to seek God for guidance, but rather that God had told Duplantis that he could largely do whatever he chose, and that God would bless it and conform His own will and actions around the decisions of Duplantis. If that does not turn man into a god and God into a manservant, then what does? I don’t know whether Duplantis has read Greg Boyd (doubtful because Boyd, who moves in Ivy League circles and similar, thinks very little of the Robertson – Duplantis branch of his movement), but whether he has or hasn’t, this is clear evidence of how so many doctrines of devils are moving through the prosperity/Word of Faith movement. An interesting twist is how these doctrines can be used to manipulate people’s political behavior. I wonder if there are other doctrines promoted by the religious left designed to influence people’s voting patterns for the benefit of a financial and power elite as well. (It would be curious, for instance, if Barack Obama is exploiting it, and if so how and to what degree. While the embrace of Obama by black evangelical and charismatic pastors is certainly disturbing and odd, I do not consider it to be part of what I am speaking of, especially when you consider that Andrew Young, Jesse Jackson, John Lewish, and many other leaders of the religious left initially opposed Obama.) It is a subject that bears looking into. 

In any event, the occasion for Jesse Duplantis’ promotion of his heresy is his new book “Turning Your Dreams Into Reality.” Please note how Duplantis talks so much about dreams and visions while never mentioning anything resembling the actual person or work of Jesus Christ. What difference, then, is there between Duplantis and a New Age teacher like, say, Oprah Winfrey or Eckhart Tolle? When you consider that the son of Paul Crouch left his wife to enter into an unbiblical relationship with a New Age teacher that their corrupt TBN empire promotes (this same TBN where Jesse Duplantis is a major personality), the answer is borne out by the works of these people, including the way that they live their lives.

Believes Many Paths Lead to God

The Faith of Barack Obama written by New York Times best-selling author Stephen Mansfield was released in August by Thomas Nelson publishers. The book carries the endorsement of Archbishop Desmond Tutu on the front cover. Tutu, one of the global “Elders,” calls the book “perceptive and well-written.” The publisher’s description of the book reads: 

“…takes readers inside the mind, heart, and soul of presidential hopeful Barack Obama–as a person of faith, as a man, as an American, and possibly as our future commander in chief.”

 

Mansfield, says: “If a man’s faith is sincere, it is the most important thing about him, and it is impossible to understand who he is and how he will lead without first understanding the religious vision that informs his life.”

According to Mansfield, Obama is “raising the banner of what he hopes will be the faith-based politics of a new generation . . . and he will carry that banner to whatever heights of power his God and the American people allow.”

Recently, when Obama was interviewed by Rick Warren, Obama told Warren that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. Yet this “banner” Obama raises is one that has an inter-spiritual foundation, representing a new kind of “Christianity,” one that looks more like Brian McLaren’s spirituality than traditional, biblical Christianity.

What emerges from this book is a glimpse of a man who has New Age philosophy, believing that other religions are legitimate paths to God, and all humanity is connected together (spiritually speaking – i.e., God is in all):

“Obama does clearly believe that the form of Christianity that he committed to at Trinity Church in 1985 is not the only path to God. ‘I am rooted in the Christian tradition,’ he has said. Nevertheless he asserts, ‘I believe there are many paths to the same place and that is a belief there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.’

 

“He first saw his broad embrace of faith modeled by his mother. ‘In our household,” he has explained, ‘The Bible, [t]he Koran, and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf … on Easter or Christmas Day my mother might drag me to a church, just as she dragged me to the Buddhist temple, the Chinese New Year celebration, the Shinto shrine, and ancient Hawaiian burial sites.’” (p.55 of Mansfield’s book, quoting from Audacity of Hope, Obama, p. 203).

 

After his inter-spiritually-based upbringing, Obama later spent twenty years in a church, which promotes the panenthestic (God in all), inter-spiritual approach. In a 2006 article in United Church News, Obama stated that the teachings of the UCC (United Church of Christ), of which he was a member (Trinity United Church of Christ) until recently, are “foundation stones for his political work.” Just what are those “teachings” comprised of? On Trinity’s website, on the Yoga page, the following statement is highlighted:

 

“Within each [of] us is the seed of Divinity. Each Soul is divine. I bow to the divinity in us all!”

This is classic Hinduism that teaches that divinity resides in every human being. It is also the message of the New Age movement — man’s divinity!

In Obama’s own autobiography, Audacity of Hope, he calls himself a “progressive” (i.e., emerging or postmodern) and says: “We need to take faith seriously not simply to block the religious right but to engage all persons of faith in the larger project of American renewal” (p. 216). Echoing the sentiments of Rick Warren (a close friend of Obama, says Warren), he clarifies that partnerships between “religious and secular” will have to be built, and “each side will need to accept some ground rules for collaboration” (p. 216). He adds:

 

“Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation; we are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.” (p. 218)

Obama insists that to base national “policy” on biblical truths “would be a dangerous thing” to do (p. 220).

There is one sentence in Audacity of Hope that sums up Barack Obama’s spirituality. He states:

“When I read the Bible, I do so with the belief that it is not a static (stable) text but the Living Word and that I must be continually open to new revelations.” (p. 224) In other words, just as Tony Jones said in his book The New Christians, and just as other emergents consistently say, the truths in the written Word of God, the Bible, are not unchanging and cannot be looked upon as stable or immoveable. “New revelations” can bring about new “truths” . . . truth is fluid.

To be interspiritual (all paths lead to God), to be panentheistic (divinity is in all), to reject God’s Word, and to embrace mysticism is to be what Alice Bailey called a rejuvenated Christian, who is one who follows “another gospel” and “another Jesus” (II Corinthians 11:4).

If The Declaration of Independence Is A Deist Document Then Why Do Christians Respect It?

I am not a fan of the author of this, a neo – conservative Jew who uses the time honored tactic of using legitimate issues like affirmative action, political correctness, and hip – hop culture and to cowardly hide his racist attacks on the black community behind them. Still, the information that he provides makes me wonder ever more why Christians who worship the God that commanded us “thou shalt have no other gods besides me” and commands us not to have anything to do with idols, false religions, or anything pertaining to them sit around and deny that our founding fathers were anything other than a bunch of deists, unitarians, and freemasons. It is curious that both of our new world order globalist appointed presidential candidates are doing their part to keep the deception going. John McCain claims that America was founded on Christianity, Barack Obama claims that America was once a Christian nation but is not any more. And this brings us back to Goldblatt, one of the many neocons of various religions (Jews, Roman Catholics, Mormons, evangelicals, agnostics/atheists) lobbying people to come together under the banner of politics, values, philosophy, nationalism, etc. rather than to worship the God who will save or destroy us based on our relationship with His Son Jesus Christ, and to fellowship with like – minded people. I have to say that it is convenient for people like him. During the liberal movements of the early 20th century, Jews found out that the best way to deal with the threat of mainline and liberal Christians’ evangelizing them (especially Presbyterians in Philadelphia, who actually started several Messianic Jewish congregations there) was to encourage them to get their minds off Jesus Christ and onto social action: poverty programs, civil rights, anti – war, environmentalism, regulation, feminism, socialism, etc. That left the conservative evangelicals, however, and decades of using the mainstream and liberal Christians – depicted as “better educated and more tolerant and respectable – to marginalize the proselytizing evangelicals failed. So … a better way came along, which was the creation of the notion of “Judeo – Christian American values” and a political agenda around it. Since defending American culture through politics and propaganda was the primary goal, its members could not afford to drive off any conservative Republican (even if they weren’t conservative like Rudy Giuliani or for that matter like the “Reagan Democrats”) who had their political and cultural agenda by telling them that without Jesus Christ they are going to burn in the lake of fire for an eternity. So, in order to support this movement, an alternative history of America was created, and it was conveniently able to build on the very same propaganda machine that had been put in place for World War II and the Cold War. (Please know that the left uses this very same machine; among other things the United Nations, the federal reserve, and a great many other “reforms” would never have been tolerated without it.) So here is something that you will almost certainly never hear preached at an evangelical church: the actual beliefs expressed by the Declaration of Independence given to you by a Jew who is exposing it only because he wants his conservative evangelical readers to come to the same position that liberal Christians and Roman Catholics have accepted long ago: that so long as we share the same culture and politics there is no reason for you to harass us Jews with accepting your Jesus Christ. This fellow, Mark Goldblatt, makes it explicit at the end.

The Necessary Religion by Mark Goldblatt

The most famous sentence ever set to paper by an American was not conceived in a single instant. In his first draft of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote: “We hold these truths to be sacred and undeniable; that all men are created equal and independent, that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent and inalienable, among which are the preservation of life, and liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Benjamin Franklin and John Adams read this draft and suggested minor alterations, which Jefferson incorporated into the version presented to the Second Continental Congress. The sentence became: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Though no one knows who made which edit, it’s safe to assume that all three men gave that sentence a good going over — in all likelihood agonized over its final form. Each change is therefore worth noting. But I’m going to focus here on just two: 1) “sacred and undeniable” became “self-evident,” and 2) “endowed by their Creator” was added.

The second change is perhaps the more intriguing, so let’s begin there. We can rule out the idea that the mention of a “Creator” was meant as a straightforward signal of piety. Franklin and Jefferson were deists — that is, they believed in a higher power that governed the universe, but not a personal deity; indeed, Jefferson once literally cut up a New Testament, excising all the supernatural elements, in order to pare down the text to its moral core. (So Thomas Jefferson was the creator of Judeo – Christian values, and Christian values is an explicit rejection of Christianity itself!) Their Christianity, if it can be called such, was of the most attenuated kind. Adams was a more traditional believer, but his Unitarianism was among the least emotive of Christian denominations. (Goldblatt well knows that Unitarianism is not Christianity but heresy because they reject the Trinity and the deity of Jesus Christ, but naturally since Unitarian beliefs are A. closer to his own and B. do not evangelize Jews – or anyone else for that matter – he prefers it and has an agenda of promoting it as Christianity … as a matter of fact I can imagine some more genteel sorts seeing his description of Unitarianism as a plus, a preferable alternative to the Bible thumping table turning Baptists and charismatics.) So their collective decision to invoke a capital-C “Creator” as the source of men’s equality must be taken as pragmatic, not devotional. But what does invoking the Creator accomplish?

Remember that Jefferson had originally written that “all men are created equal and independent,” and “that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent and inalienable.” The problem is that these words are manifestly false. (Here we have not only a Jew denying Galatians 3:28 and Colossians 3:11, but a race – baiter refusing to admit the fact that “created independent” was obviously dropped because of slavery.) Even if we grant that men are created independent — itself a dubious assertion — they are certainly not created equal in any quantifiable way. Not physically. Not intellectually. Not even if we mean their hidden potentials. No matter how much I practice, I’ll never be as good a basketball player as Michael Jordan is. (Racist conservatives are always quick to bring up Michael Jordan.) No matter how long I study, I’ll never be as good a physicist as Albert Einstein was. (Blacks are good at basketball, but Jews and whites are smart, so everyone know and stay in their place!) Hence men’s equality, if it exists, must consist of an immeasurable quality, an intangible essence, a soul.

This is the signature recognition, the sine qua non, of natural-law theory — the moral system through which Jefferson sought to make his case for American independence. (In other words, through humanistic philosophy, not Christianity, because humanism cannot co – exist with a sovereign personal deity. Either the deity has to no longer be personal – deism – or no longer be sovereign. The Declaration of Independence, then, is not a Christian document but an anti – Christian one representing the views and beliefs of a FALSE RELIGION no different from Islam, Hinduism, or for that matter Judaism. I am aware that plenty of Christians  – including some that I respect – found John Locke’s natural law theory useful in their preaching and theology, as his thoughts on natural law are derived from both Roman Catholic thought and the natural theology of many Protestant denominations. But this is why I agree with Tertullian’s “”what has Athens do to with Jerusalem? what has the academy to do with the church?” statement where he cautions against Christianity as philosophy, as philosophy was invented by PAGANS. ) On a collective level, the theory holds that the written-down laws of any government, including those of the King of England, must conform with, in Jefferson’s words, the “Laws of Nature” – which, while unwritten, flow from “Nature’s God” and are thus binding on all people and governments. (1. God’s laws are written in the same Bible that Jefferson mutilated just as did Marcion. 2. Jefferson’s deity sounds a lot like the eastern deities being worshiped through New Age and environmentalism, not to mention through POLITICS. And curious that Jefferson believes that his deity had the sovereignty to impose a covenant on every person and government on the planet.)

On an individual level, natural law holds that there is a Third Party, beyond the biological mother and father, involved in the act of human creation. Your two parents generated your material substance, the goop and soup of you; that much could be said of any mammal. But according to natural law, God expresses His interest in every human being through the act of ensoulment — the creation of an individual soul — by virtue of which the human being becomes a person. And from that quality of personhood flow the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. (Certainly sounds a lot like the false prosperity doctrine to me. No mention of carrying the cross, dying to self, warring against the flesh or against the world, sacrifice, or persecution. And why not? Because to have those elements YOU NEED THE INCARNATION, WORK, DEATH, AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST! YOU NEED THE CROSS, AND THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CROSS!)

The genesis of this concept of personhood is, well, Genesis. Specifically, Genesis 1:26-27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” If the biblical passage makes sense, given the peculiarities to which human flesh is subject, the image of God in man must be the soul. (This shows how Thomas Jefferson, just as the modern religious right, is perfectly capable of incorporating the things from the Bible that they agree with while rejecting the things that they do not. By the way, Jewish Mark Goldblatt has yet to mention a single thing from the New Testament. Gee, I wonder why …)

But in what sense is this idea “self-evident”? If you think about it, the proposition that all men are created equal is by no means “self-evident” — at least not in the common sense of the phrase. (Again, look at Romans, Galatians, and Colossians, Goldblatt.) Neither is the idea that they are endowed by their Creator with inalienable rights, nor that those rights include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. (I agree, this concept comes from Enlightnment humanism and is found nowhere in the Old or New Testaments. Of course, religious right preachers claim that the Bible gives Christians these things SO LONG AS THEY LIVE IN AMERICA, EUROPE, OR ANY OTHER MOSTLY WHITE CAPITALIST DEMOCRATIC NATION! Everyone else … well hey my God sends me the sunshine and the black, red, brown, etc. Christians everywhere else the rain.)

Why then did Jefferson, Franklin, and Adams prefer “self-evident” to “sacred and undeniable”? Maybe because the latter starts an argument, but the former finishes one. If you say “we hold these truth to be sacred and undeniable,” you’re laying the emphasis on the word “we”: We believe these things. On the other hand, if you say “we hold these truths to be self-evident,” you’re shifting the emphasis to the reader’s response, telling him, in effect, that if he doesn’t concur, he’s suffering from a cognitive deficiency. Recall, too, that the Declaration was written at the height of the Enlightenment — when congruence with human reason had begun to eclipse congruence with scripture as the ultimate gauge of truth. What is self-evident must be self-evident to all reasonable people. Those who fail to grasp what is self-evident, therefore, are being unreasonable. (Now you would think that the religious left, people who cast out scripture in favor of alleged “science” and “reason” when it comes to things like homosexuality and abortion would be defending this document and the fallen mindset that produced both it and the Constitution. Nope, it is the religious right that puts one hand on the Bible – and gets mad when Muslims like Barack HUSSEIN Obama and Keith Ellison refuse to do it! – and another on the deist freemason pagan Constitution! It is the religious right that is trying to coerce all children in government schools to pledge allegience to the flag, recite the Declaration of Independence, and wear those stupid flag pins! Go ahead little Christian boy. Put your flag pin on your lapel right beside your Christian cross – or Star of David if you are a Jew or angel Moroni if you are Mormon or … whatever. DO IT OR ELSE!)

The proposition that all men are created equal and endowed with inalienable rights has become, quite simply, the magnetic north of the modern world’s moral compass. (Not the Bible eh? Since he stated THE WORLD and not THE CHURCH, it is appropriate.) Which is not to say that our interpretation of it has remained fixed. The direct line between Genesis 1:26-27 and Jefferson’s “all men are created equal” compels us to take into account the tail end of the biblical passage: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Jefferson wrote “all men.” But we now read the phrase to include women, and members of all ethnicities — that is, “all people.” (Being a Jew, Goldblatt knows that the original Hebrew word in Genesis 1:26-27 included women, just as he knows that the word “Adam” means “humankind” or “all humankind.” Of course, since Goldblatt does not honor the New Testament – still no reference to it! – he rejects Ephesians where Paul told us that the covenant was made with man, and that is why the Bible uses masculine language. Goldblatt accepts the ramblings of European Jews in the Middle Ages over the words of a Middle Eastern Jew who lived and wrote before the Romans destroyed the Jewish temple and religion.) The full personhood of human beings Jefferson himself might not have had in mind is apparent to us. (What I care about is the full personhood of Jesus Christ – fully God and fully man – which both Jefferson and Goldblatt have no interest in whatsoever.)

Taken in their totality, Jefferson’s self-evident truths are not actually self-evident truths, but represent a creed. They are unprovable and nondisprovable. You make the leap of faith, or you don’t. All in, or all out. (Maybe Jewish creeds and Jeffersonian enlightenment humanist deist creeds are not self – evident truths that are unprovable and nondisprovable, but Christianity’s creeds were proven by the empty tomb, Goldblatt. Any faith in any other than Jesus Christ is false misplaced faith, and that includes faith in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the declaration of independence, and this country that the state has been working hard to whip up ever since Woodrow Wilson forced the pledge of allegiance to THE FLAG – not God but the flag – on us to drag us into World War I Of course, our entering World War I led to World War II, and the rest is historythe United Nations, the federal reserve, the religious right and left, and Zionism going from being a secular socialist political movement preferred by atheists – and deists – to being a religious movement integrated into the theology of conservative Jews AND Christians.)

If you’re an American, you’re all in. For what is the United States Constitution, and the centuries of jurisprudence derived from it, except the laws designed to ensure the natural rights mentioned in the Declaration? (That is not true. I am only into what the Bible requires of me. I refuse to bow to Baal, sacrifice to Molech, burn incense to the queen of heaven, build groves to Diana, Daphne, Ashtoreth, etc. or do anything else that shows allegiance to the natural law doctrines of the false Mother Earth nature religion of the sham deist deity of either Thomas Jefferson or his deist – unitarian – freemason brethren. Goldblatt wants you to think so in order to replace your Christian beliefs with politico – cultural ones, and therefore you will not evangelize his people out of Judaism.)

The foundation of the United States is the article of faith that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with natural rights. It is our gospel to the world, the Necessary Religion of America, the creedal core to which all Americans — Jews, Christians, and Muslims; polytheists, monotheists, and atheists — say “Amen” each Fourth of July. (If you ever needed a payoff line proving everything that I just said to you, that was it. I will say “Amen” every Fourth of July and every other day of the year not in worship of the state or to the false demonic deity in whose name and for whose purpose it was founded, but rather to the God of Heaven who in the former times revealed Himself to us through His prophets but in these last days has revealed Himself to us by way of His Son Jesus Christ. No king but Jesus Christ. Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, and all who did not believe in, serve, or live for Him will be cast into the lake of fire to burn for eternity! Please,  follow the Three Step Salvation plan so that you won’t go to the lake of fire!)

Now all of the preachers who get up on Sunday morning or who tape TV shows promoting the lie of the religious right that we can have the false gods of capitalism, nationalism, democracy, etc. beside the God of heaven, and that it somehow makes us better Christians for it … they are going to have to stand before that God of heaven one day and be held accountable for deceiving the masses. But my focus is not on them, my focus is on YOU. Why? Because YOU are going to have to stand before that same God too, and if you believe their deception and act on it you will be just as accountable as they are. It is said that the truth has to come out from a Jew who wants to use the truth to prevent you from converting Jews instead of from all of these prominent evangelical Christians who SHOULD be broadcasting the truth in order to keep you from burning from eternity in the lake of fire. This Jew who rejects Jesus Christ may actually have more love in his heart for you than do any of these apostate religious right (or religious left!) Christian preachers, pastors, scholars, and theologians that are either actively keeping the deception going, or are not speaking out against it.

Now this is not to say that Christians should be AGAINST the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, America, etc. because doing so would be a violation of Romans 13. God calls subversion a sin and hates it. We are to submit to and respect those who God has placed over us for His own reason to fulfill His own sovereign purposes. However, there is a huge difference from being respectful of this nation and its rulers and laws and getting up in a pulpit claiming that America ever was some reflection of God’s holiness and that its leaders created it to carry out God’s purposes in the world. There is a huge difference between urging people to learn the laws of the land so that they will generally understand and be able to obey them, and vote for political candidates that will also generally support and obey those same laws (by the way, which not a single president, member of the Congressional leadership, or person holding an important mayorality or governorship has done in DECADES no matter which party they represent, and not that any leading preacher ever talks about it, especially when the criminal lawbreaker elected official in question IS A MEMBER OF THEIR PREFERRED PARTY!) and claiming that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights reflect the Bible as much as any George Whitefield, Charles Spurgeon, or John Edwards sermon. At any given time you can hear any number of preachers or Christian activists extolling the alleged Christian virtues in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, or the Declaration of Independence. How often do these same people talk about “Method of Grace“? “Sinners in the Hand of an Angry God“? Against Baptismal Regeneration? You hear these guys talk about the founding fathers more than they talk about Calvin and Luther. Of course, because if they talked about Calvin and Luther more, they would have to repeat their saying “better to be ruled by a wise Muslim than a foolish Christian!” AND CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT THE ONLY TIME YOU HAVE EVER HEARD ANY OF THESE PEOPLE SAY THIS WAS TO TRY TO GET EVANGELICALS TO VOTE FOR CONGENITAL LIAR MITT ROMNEY?

People, this religious right (and left) nonsense is part and parcel of the strong delusion, the great apostasy, the falling away. Come out of this spiritual Babylon, and put away your idols and false gods of the syncretism of Christianity, political values, and whatever other religion that is willing to take on your values to advance its goal of winning more converts in the United States and thereby more power on the world scene. We have already seen Jews, Mormons, Roman Catholics,  New Agers, ATHEISTS, etc. do this in both parties. It is only a matter of time before Muslims get heavily involved with Republicans (as they already are with Democrats) and Hindus do the same.

The best – or worst – part of all this is how none of this is new or secret information. Mark Goldblatt did not win some award as an eminent scholar of history for uncovering the heretofore unknown secret of the deism (and unitarianism and freemasonry) of the founding fathers, and how their beliefs were reflected in the Constitution (which nowhere mentions God’s Name) or in the Declaration of Independence (which describes a deity and a relationship with his creation that ARE NOT THE SAME AS DEPICTED IN THE BIBLE!) After all, if he had, he wouldn’t be teaching at the Fashion Institute of Technology of the State University of New York. This is not meant to denigrate his academic achievements, which far exceed my own, but merely to point out that Goldblatt is not disseminating groundbreaking information here. The true beliefs of our founding fathers have long been known to history, and the leaders of the religious right and the conservative evangelical movements have been lying about it. Many of them do it directly, but most do it indirectly by remaining silent while the Chri$tian celebritie$ go on television and radio and proclaim their lies. To these people – and we all know who they are, they even include people whose sermons and devotionals I feature on this website, which is one of the reasons why I am getting away from that – 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 applies. “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” Go ahead and read the verses that precede it as well. “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.

Does this apply to you? If so, I urge and beseech you on this Fourth of July and to those who read it afterwards, PLEASE COME OUT OF IT MY PEOPLE BEFORE YOU SHARE IN THE PLAGUES OF BABYLON! The people who push this nonsense – or who fail to oppose it! – are working for the anti – Christ. The truth of Jesus Christ is not in them! Evidence of this is that it is THE LEFT that – for their own purposes – is TELLING THE TRUTH about how the founding fathers were deists and unitarians (strangely they never mention freemasons) and that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution do not represent Christianity in any historical, traditional, biblical, or theological sense. And when they do, the leaders of this apostate religious right movement come down upon them with daggers, swords, bullets, and razor sharp teeth calling them liars trying to deceive the good people of this “Christian nation” and lead them into spiritual darkness. Don’t these people realize that they are talking about themselves? Or is it that they realize it and do not care? These so – called preachers know that George Washington performed a freemason ritual – a libation of corn, oil, and wine – on the cornerstone of America’s capital building. They have read the notes and letters of these people where they express their true religious beliefs. They know that Benjamin Franklin, among many others – mocked not only the virgin birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ but also those who believe in it. (Which makes their willingness to attach themselves to the legacy of Martin Luther King, who also rejected those things, and claim that he led a Christian movement with a libertarian philosophy knowing full well that the guy was a radical leftist subversive much more believable.) Despite knowing the truth, they demand that every Christian under their charge show reverence for our nation’s founding leaders, documents, symbols, and traditions. The lie that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree has been replaced with a bigger one: that Washington and his crew were serving the God of the Bible and that when they fought a violent rebellion against England (in violation of Romans 13!) and founded a new nation they did it to serve God (a concept supported nowhere in the New Testament.)

So now that you know who the deceivers are, the question is … WILL YOU BE DECEIVED?

So is Rick Warren. When Huckabee was being hammered by the anti – Christians in the right wing media for not knowing anything about foreign policy, HE HIRED A MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL ON FOREIGN RELATIONS TO GET HIM UP TO SPEED ON THAT TOPIC! But hey, it is just me being a conspiracy – monger I guess. All of these things are just coincidences.

The Error Of The Evangelical Manifesto

The “Evangelical Manifesto.”   Last Wednesday, a group of prominent
Evangelicals released the “Evangelical Manifesto: A Declaration of
Evangelical Identity and Public Commitment.”  The Steering Committee
includes: Os Guinness; Timothy George, Dean, Beeson Divinity School, Samford
University; Rich Mouw, President, Fuller Theological Seminary; and Dallas
Willard, Professor of Philosophy, University of Southern California.  It has
been signed by apx. 80 “evangelical leaders,” though when a trained eye
looks through the list of signers, it becomes apparent what this document is
really all about.

For those who have been part of the Liveprayer family for a while, you might
remember me mentioning the gutless Dr.Mouw back in December of 2004, who
along with Ravi Zacharias, became pawns used by the Mormons to give them
mainstream credibility.  Here is an excerpt from that 12/07/04 Devotional:
“Mouw preceded Zacharias and amazingly apologized, yes, apologized to the
Mormon crowd of roughly 7,000 stating, ‘We evangelicals have sinned against
you. We have demonized you.’ Since when was exposing the false gospel of the
Mormon cult a sin? That is exactly what we are supposed to do! Also, the
last I checked, those who lead people’s souls into everlasting damnation are
demonic!”

First of all, let me state the obvious.  We already have an “Evangelical
Manifesto,” it is called THE BIBLE and it has the greatest author of all
time…GOD!  The real purpose of this document is to create a shift in power
regarding those who are seen as the Christian leaders of our day and those
who speak for the Christian community.  Many years ago, I had to make some
hard choices.  Do I build a giant ministry organization and preach to the
choir like the rest, putting my voice into the same mix as Falwell,
Robertson, Kennedy, Dobson, Graham, and the others, or follow God’s calling
as a true evangelist and reach out to the lost and hurting souls outside the
four walls of the church, and take on more of a prophetic ministry to reach
this lost world with God’s Truth.  I made the decision to pass on the
comfort, prominence, prestige, and financial security of building another
Christian organization, and chose instead  to give my life reaching the lost
and hurting with the hope of Jesus Christ.

That choice has given me the unique position of being free from the politics
of the “church,” and allowed me to not have to compromise the Truth of the
Bible to keep a “Christian business” going.  Like the prophets in the Old
Testament, I have been in the unique position few are in, to deal with the
issues of the day and in people’s lives without worrying about pleasing men,
only God.  My focus has never had to be about raising money for
infrastructure and operations, only for saving souls.  I have no other
agenda but God’s.  My goals aren’t earthly but heavenly.  My legacy won’t be
in buildings or the temporal things of this world that will one day soon be
gone, but the lives God has used me to impact and the eternal souls of men.

Many of those who put together and signed this document are for the most
part those who I have warned you about in recent years, this emerging group
known as the “Christian left.”  Prominent signers of this murky document are
people like Jim Wallis, founder of Sojourners, and Rick Warren, Pastor of
Saddleback and author of the Purpose Driven Life.  A major portion of this
document is spent repudiating Christians involved in politics, and seeks to
replace the fight for life, marriage, and family issues, with a focus on
world hunger, AIDs in Africa, and environmental issues.   It also lashes out
at those who have the audacity to go into the public arena and take a stand
for Christ based on the Truth of God’s Word.  The document says evangelicals
have often expressed “truth without love,” helping create a backlash against
religion during a “generation of culture warring.”  The fact is, we have
been intimidated into silence by those who represent satan!

This is the mindset fostered by the “seeker,” “emerging church,” and “church
growth” crowd that for the past 15 years have watered down the Gospel and
set aside the absolutes of the Bible to attract warm bodies.  What they have
done is created a new subculture of “Christians” who might be saved, but
live no different than the world and easily embrace the lies of the false
religions, cults, and New Age teachings that are leading the souls of men to
hell.  This is why you have people like Oprah who claim to be a Christian,
yet promote the lies of every New Age guru that comes down the path.  This
is why you have people like Sen. Barak Hussein Obama who claims to be a
Christian, yet votes continually to slaughter babies and redefine God’s Holy
Institution of Marriage.  This is why you have Christians who think people
in a satanic cult like the Mormons will go to Heaven.  This is why you have
people who call themselves “Christians,” but deny that the Bible is the only
Truth there is!

Add to this the prominence of pastors who are little more than motivational
speakers like Robert Schuller and Joel Osteen who go into the secular media
when they want to sell their latest book, and brag bout never talking about
sin or the social issues of our day and refuse to answer the most simple
question of the faith, whether Jesus is the ONLY way to be saved or not.  So
people read their books, watch their TV programs to “feel good” and become
part of this new subculture of “Christians” who have no concept of basic
theology and embrace lies like “there are many roads that lead to God.

Don’t believe me?  Here is a typical email we get daily:  “I’m a
Metaphysical Christian and a Human being a child of GOD. I was baptized at
Saddleback Church with Rick Warren.  There is a very powerful wonderful
movement of consciousness going on right now obviously the old way is not
working very well. Watch a few Videos on Esther Hicks etc GOD bless you
too!”  What a load of garbage.  Metaphysical Christian???  The “old way” is
not working very well?  The old way being the Bible?  Ester Hicks is one of
the more popular New Age teachers out there today.  I wish you could see the
feed back I get daily from the Daily Devotional, from the TV program, from
my appearances on FOX News, CNN, and from the videos we post on YouTube.
People who call themselves “Christians,” yet reject the Bible as the only
Truth there is, and embrace beliefs that are in complete contradiction to
what the Bible teaches.

How did this happen?  It started with the church.  Forty years ago the
mainline denominations brought in pastors who were from liberal seminaries
and denied the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible.  They quit preaching
the Gospel of Jesus Christ and opted for a social gospel instead.  At the
same time, you had this growing Christian subculture of Christian TV, radio,
and publishing, geared to and marketed to Christians.  Major ministries and
Christian organizations were birthed that generated tens of millions
annually, and for the most part did very little  but preach to the choir and
self perpetuate themselves from one year to the next.

Billions have been raised and squandered on the temporal things of this
world instead of on the work of God.  We have extracted ourselves from the
marketplace, and now not only have the better percentage of two full
generations who have never even been to church, but a new generation of
“Christians” who don’t believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of
God, representing Absolute Truth, and our final authority in all maters.  It
is no wonder our nation is in spiritual freefall and this world we live in
grows darker by the day.  Men of God in days gone by didn’t build great
organizations, they built up men and women to serve the Lord.  They only had
one book, the Bible, and one message, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  They
never compromised the Truth of God’s Word and their only goal was to save
souls!

I love you and care about you so much.  While I agree with 90% of what is in
the “Evangelical Manifesto,” the other 10% makes it a document designed to
give more power and prominence to those in the Christian left,  replace
abortion, marriage, and family issues with issues like world hunger, poverty
and disease, and calls for Christians to be more friendly to non-Christians
by not talking about things like sin and hell in the public.  Just in case
you were wondering, they never contacted me about signing this document.
LOL!!!

I have been warning you for years now about this new and growing group who
make up the Christian left who are now fighting with the old guard on the
Christian right for power and to be the voice of Christians.  The Christian
left waters down the Gospel and lays aside the absolutes of the Bible in
order to attract warm bodies and advance their social agenda, while the
Christian right has been turned into little more than a very lucrative
business that generates hundreds of millions annually around various causes
and is more concerned with power and self preservation than getting actual
results.  This leaves Christians alone to deal with the hurts and pains of
every day life with a very thin foundation to their faith, while the vast
majority of people are living without hope and heading to hell when they
die.

However, there is a remnant, a faithful group of Believers who have not sold
out and whose sole goal is to serve the Lord and see God’s Kingdom advanced.
Praise God for those faithful pastors and ministries that only want to see
the work of the Gospel accomplished as they share the Truth of God’s Word
without compromise and labor to bring the lost to faith in Jesus Christ.
These are the last days my friend.  Jesus is coming at any moment.  There is
no time for playing games.  People are dying and heading to hell every
second.  The focus of all Believers in Jesus Christ has to be on bringing
lost souls to faith in our Lord.  We don’t need an “Evangelical Manifesto,”
we already have one and it is called THE BIBLE!!!

Still Support Harry Potter Christians? Does It Still Have “Good Christian Values”?

Stuff like THIS is why so many of us BEGGED the administrator of Slice of Laodicea to get it back online after a satanic attack took it down. Before I provide the link, three points.

1. The only reason why Christians ever supported this abomination to begin with was because it was successful. Had the series been only a subculture thing instead of perhaps the biggest popular nonfiction literature in history, Christians would have never joined themselves to this sin. It is still more proof that so many Christians deep in their heart have not rejected the very same world that killed our Jesus Christ and separate ourselves from its evil as the Bible consistently tells us to, but instead conversely crave to be a part of it and to be accepted by it, and are willing to compromise the HOLINESS and UNIQUENESS of the gospel of Yeshua HaMashiach to do it. A great many of them even insist that it is impossible to be an effective witness to the lost without it. A Little Leaven has this often hilarious little feature calls The Graveyard of “Relevance” that helps make this point.

2. Why are you surprised at J.K. Rowling making Dumbledore homosexual? Not only is Rowling a liberal Christian (Church of Scotland which apparently no longer excommunicates people, no surprise there because virtually no one else does either) who worships at the church of tolerance, multiculturalism, political correctness, and diversity, but HOMOSEXUALITY HAS LONG BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH WITCHCRAFT, PAGANISM, THE OCCULT, IDOLATRY, ETC. They go hand in hand, and they always have. That is why whenever the children of Israel started going after idolatry in the Old Testament, sodomite activity greatly increased, remember? That was why when a righteous king took over after a period of apostasy, it was said that he took down the groves and high places AND removed the sodomites from the land (1 Kings 15:12). In more contemporary times, one of the primary reasons why feminists have been promoting witchcraft, the occult, and paganism (and working hard to introduce them into Christianity) has been the fact that homosexuality is an integral part of those traditions. Indeed, feminists have been promoting the notion that women should abandon Christianity for witchcraft because the former discriminates against homosexuality and the latter worships it!

All of these things are well known to the very Christians that have been defending Harry Potter all these years, and their willingness to stick their heads in the sand over this issue is proof that they are teetering on the edge of apostasy. But hey, when you are looking for redemptive messages in abominations like Pulp Fiction and Sin City (both of which openly mocked Christianity) as leading Harry Potter proponent Christianity Today does because “Christians have to stay relevant to popular culture in order to be able to project our values into that culture”, then oh well …

3. What is the big deal about homosexuality anyway? Why is it that homosexuality makes Harry Potter so bad? Stuff like this is what makes so many of us Christians a bunch of flaming (yes the pun was intended!) hypocrites. All homosexuality consists of is who you get into bed with, or in the case of Larry Craig solicit in a public bathroom. It is no different than adultery, fornication, watching those soap operas, or looking at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. Removing it from the realm of sexual sin, it is no different than lying, gossiping, cheating on your taxes, or routinely brazenly flouting the speed limit laws because you refuse to get out of bed early enough to get to work on time without needlessly recklessly endangering your life and property and those of others. It is all SIN, people. So the fact that so many Christians were willing to look past the fact that Harry Potter was the #2 promoter of witchcraft in Christian mainstream culture of all time (good old WALT DISNEY was #1, yet Christians did not care and considered it to be “traditional American family values” until they started having “Gay Days” at their theme parks!) but are now willing to drop the series over a single homosexual character shows how carnal their minds are. Bottom line: most Christians would much rather deal with coming home and finding their son playing with a ouija board than in bed with the quarterback on the football team. Despite the fact that both are clearly the same in God’s eyes, Christians are more concerned with what they want rather than what God wants, and how much more they will be made laughingstocks before their friends (some of whom are not even saved!) if the latter gets out rather than the former. It is all about being a man – pleasing Christian rather than a God – pleasing one.

Now I have heard about some of the things in the Harry Potter series, and how it is far worse than any of the witchcraft/fantasy children’s problems in the past. There was never any excuse for any Christian that takes the Bible seriously for accepting this mess in the past. It is sad that it took mere homosexuality to make that fact clear. But going back to point #2, you folks KNEW what was in Rowling’s books. You KNEW the character and mindset of this woman. So you should have KNOWN that she vigorously supported the sin of homosexuality and the gay agenda, and at some point was going to start advocating it along with other abominations. But rather than standing for the truth from the outset, you gave this woman the very endorsement and acceptance that the homosexual community has been seeking from the Christian community all this time. And that is why I disagree with one of the points of their commentary: ” I personally think that one of the reasons she did it was to keep Christianity from staking even the tiniest claim on Harry Potter . . . ever. ” No, Slice of Laodicea, it was precisely the opposite. Rowling did it precisely so that the sin of homosexuality would be accepted by mainstream Christianity, and that those of us that still call homosexuality sin would be further marginalized. All of you Christians that have defended or even refused to take a hard line against homosexuality all these years helped her. So how does that make you feel? I ask you that because your own feelings instead of what God wanted and demanded of you were all that you cared about to begin with! Hopefully you can see that now.

Update: apparently Ms. Rowling is a member of a secret society: check out the ring that she wore to her book signing: allday.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/07/29/295699.aspx. Did Christianity Today know that? Of course they did. I would not be surprised to find out that they are members too.

A Way To Spot A False Prophet: By The Frequency And Nature Of Their Predictions

Owing to my charismatic leanings, my stance on this issue is not as strong as some (see
Why I Run From All Who Claim the Title “Apostle” or “Prophet”.) However, this is something that we should keep in mind whenever we see the various prophets in our churches and on television.

First off, my position is that what the Bible calls “prophesying” or of “one who prophesieth” or “did prophesy.” I believe that those are references to people to whom the word of God came to at some time without holding the office of prophet (i.e. Daniel ) or speaking in known or unknown tongues. In either case, the requirements are not nearly as stringent because the person makes no claim to holding the office. But for someone that gives themselves that office, they must be tried by the Holy Spirit, which among other things gives us understanding of scripture.

1. Most of the prophetic utterances in the Bible was not speaking of the future or of things supernatural. (By the same token, a staggering amount of the future predictions in the Bible, such as those of Abraham and Joseph in Genesis; Daniel; Paul, Jude, and John in Revelation and the epistles, etc. DID NOT come from prophets.) Instead, most of the prophetic speech recorded in the Bible was speaking out against and challenging the wickedness of the day, demanding that the people repent and turn to God, and telling them what blessings they would receive if they obeyed and curses would befall them if they didn’t.

Their basis for this? Sometimes it would be revelation from God, true, BUT USUALLY IT WAS BASED ON THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT WAS ALREADY GIVEN IN SCRIPTURE. A prophet did not need a revelation from God to warn the kings and the people that God would punish them if they continued with the idolatry, violence, and oppressing the poor. All they had to do was read Exodus, Leviticus, and Deuteronomy, judge the actions of the rulers and the people by them, and speak according to what the Word of God said. While prophets will naturally be better at it – just as someone with the Holy Spirit gift of evangelism will be better at being used by God to win converts – any Christian that regularly reads the Bible is capable of doing the same.

And by the way: as a general rule Israel’s prophets weren’t prophesying to the people of Babylon telling them what sinners they were and how God was going to get them. No, virtually all of the prophetic words came to God’s elect people, which was Israel then but now is the church (you can go tell John Hagee and the B’nai B’rith Anti – Defamation League that I said that). A lot of people feel that just because the speech isn’t on future events or doesn’t amaze you with talk of angels and visions that it isn’t divinely inspired. That is not the case. Very little of the Bible is dedicated to what most modern Christians consider modern and supernatural, most of it is telling us how to live, and telling us what will happen to those who obey and those who disobey. Yet every word of the Bible is supernaturally divinely inspired! So, a person who claims to be a prophet according the Word and Spirit of God that ignores what makes up the vast majority of the Bible’s content in favor of unverifiable revelations and utterances (the folks with their hands stretched out saying “God is telling me that someone somewhere is going to get a breakthrough of some sort at some time … RARELY the types of prophecies in the Bible that gave the who where when what and why”) ; nowhere in scripture does a prototype for such a person exist in scripture. And as virtually no one out there is contending against the falsehoods in Christianity (few are even doing so with regards to the world!) then one can deduce that the number of Christian prophets is declining with time. Whatever the effects of Azusa Street and the other charismatic revivals, it did not result in a sustained increase in the number of legitimate prophets or prophetic activity.

The bottom line: if this prophet or prophetess is not speaking against the evil that is being preached and done in the church on a regular basis as did Amos, Hosea, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, etc. then such a person is a false prophet.

2. Now let us deal with the forthtelling and discernment of the spirit realm, or what modern Christians associate with prophecy. Now this is almost certainly the case because many Christians confuse what more closely resembles shamans, mystics, and diviners from other religions with actual Biblical examples of what a prophet is supposed to be and do. Now that Yahweh yoga, contemplative prayer, and other syncretistic trends are moving from the more liberal emergent church movements into the charismatic movement (which by the way isn’t nearly as theologically or socially conservative as it once was) that is only going to increase. But if we go by recorded scripture – which is our only reliable guide – and a careful intuitive study thereof, you will see that such revelations obviously came RARELY.

How do we know this? Take, for instance, Ezekiel 26:1 – “And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me.” Now remember: scripture is our primary guide, and accounts of prophetic revelation, visions, dreams, etc. are almost always prefaced with “in this year in this month on that day in this hour, the Word of the Lord came to the prophet.” While there clearly is a great deal of evidence that much more prophesying went on than was included in the Bible, their being able to remember and seeing fit to record precisely when and where these prophecies came to them would tend to make you believe that they received prophetic messages RARELY. Now when you add that to the fact that very little of the Bible is what most Christians now consider prophecy, we are forced to conclude that prophets did not receive revelation from God at will or on a regular basis.

Consider an example. Suppose that a prophet were to receive 100 prophecies. That would amount to 2 – 3 prophecies a year for a person who began serving the office at the age of 40 and lived to the age of 80 (you do know that PROPHETS DO NOT RETIRE don’t you? any prophet that retires was almost certainly a false one while he was “working”). And realize this: even that 2 – 3 distinct prophetic revelations a year would dwarf that of virtually any prophet recorded in scripture, even if you are very liberal with what is meant by “prophecy.” Now if your prophet claims to have frequent insights or applications that came from intense study of scripture, then you should entertain his or her words, especially if it is something that you do not want to hear and convicts you. (Or have you forgotten that such was usually what prophets did; deliver an unpopular message that no one wanted to hear? If so, then why do YOU think that the prophets were killed, and not by the nonelect peoples but by God’s chosen Israel? And if there were unpopular messages to be delivered to God’s people that no one wanted to hear then, what makes now any different?)

But it honestly seems that most of the people that purport to be prophets behave more like fortune tellers, psychics, palm readers, astrologers, etc. than Bible – based holders of a five – fold ministry office, and it appears that such is the case because that is precisely what Christians want. Rather than allowing their daily lives to be governed by the hard challenging demanding truth of what God has already given them in the Bible and accepting that all other revelation will be A) consistent with prior revelation in the Bible and B) very precious and rarely given and C) not secret knowledge or special information given to a privileged few but rather given to the entire church, meaning that it will be confirmed with similar revelations by other prophets as was the case in the Bible, people just go looking for something that makes them feel good. And it is not ALWAYS people who are running to the prophets looking for excuses to be lascivious and disobedient (although that certainly is the case from time to time), but rather people who quite simply lack the faith to trust the Bible and instead wants rely on what a person says. Such a person does not have faith in God and because of that will never please God or receive anything from Him, but instead will be easily misled into perdition by falsehoods and those who traffic in them.

Bottom line: the people that have new supernatural (and again usually non – specific, unverifiable, and unaccountable) “revelations” from God every time they are invited to revivals at your church or every time you see them on TV are clearly false prophets.

In conclusion, I am certain that there are people holding the five – fold ministry office of a prophet operating in the Body of Christ today. I am just as certain, however, that those people are not regarded as such, but rather are scorned, rejected, and despised of by virtually all Christians.
