Tim LaHaye Book The Act Of Marriage Proven By Medical Science To Be Perverted Apostasy!

Posted by Job on April 13, 2008

Anyone read Tim LaHaye’s “The Act of Marriage”? A copy was given to me by a friend who is a big supporter of LaHaye’s “Left Behind” series. I was really looking forward to reading it,  thinking that it was going to be some highly theological and spiritual work that gave new insights on the topic of marital sexuality by comprehensively giving out all of the known relevant Bible verses on the topic, both the verses known to deal with the topic plus interpreting more in new ways. I also wanted to hear about some of LaHaye’s experience from “decades of counseling” that he gave on the topic.  Needless to say, I was disappointed, as the book turned out to be a randy raunchfest. More disturbing was how rather than providing new or innovative exegesis on scripture or even historio – cultural insights on how the time and place the Bible was written may have influenced how sexuality was viewed and depicted, especially on the very tough sections that dealt with polygamy, concubines, Jacob being forced to marry sisters, the sororate and levirate (having to marry your deceased sibling’s spouse), etc. LaHaye used the Bible quite irresponsibly. For instance, LaHaye used the verse “Adam and Eve were naked but not ashamed” in the Bible to justify the notion that Adam and Eve engaged in frequent uninhibited sexual intercourse while in the Garden of Eden. The problem with speculation like this is that while it can be a reasonable inference that they had a sexual relationship in the Garden of Eden, THE FACT THAT THEY WERE NAKED HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. I mean, goodness, what does LaHaye believe that tribal cultures, where the men and women walk around wearing far less clothes than we do, spend their time doing? The Bible only speaks of their being unashamed of being naked in reference to their having no knowledge of sin. Since the fact that being naked in front of your spouse is not a sin ANYWAY, and as a result of their SIN they were ashamed to be naked in front of not only EACH OTHER when they had been given to EACH OTHER by GOD, and also in front of the SAME GOD THAT MADE THEM NAKED, it is SUPPOSED to be a powerful illustration of the nature of sin and the effects of the fall, how original sin literally makes man lose the ability to think naturally and rationally. But no, LaHaye looks at that verse and only depicts it as a naked couple in a jungle running around engaging in wild uninhibited copulation.

That seriously flawed (to be kind) Bible interpretation sets the tone for the rest of the book. LaHaye uses it to make the same assertion in the Juanita Bynum – Bishop Thomas Weeks “marriage ministry” Teach Me How To Love You conferences and a bunch of other themes by similar (meaning charismatic) marriage ministries, which states that married couples cannot defile the bedroom with unnatural, sinful sexual activity. Now this is the very definition of what Jude 4 calls turning the grace of God into lasciviousness! A born – again couple under the marriage covenant is SUPPOSED to be empowered through the Holy Spirit and by worshiping and praising God in spirit and truth together to the point where they are able to turn aside from wickedness, to help each other resist Satan so that he will flee from them outside of AND inside of the bedroom. But LaHaye and the rest of these false preachers are telling you that the purpose of the marriage covenant and the new covenant is to sanctify sin! That the effect of being born again and married to a born again spouse is that it makes behavior that is unnatural and sinful for unsaved unsaved and unmarried people holy, acceptable, and pleasing unto God for the saved ones! So, rather than using the marriage covenant to help you resist sin, these people teach that being born again and married allows you to become a bigger sinner than before, because since you are married it is no longer sin!

Not only that, but LaHaye’s book and the “ministries” of Bynum/Weeks and the many other ministers taking part in the “sex sells especially in the church” market are now actually strongly implying that refusing to consent to the sinful sexual desires of your partner are practically legitimate grounds for divorce! LaHaye’s book in particular states “Now I know that God hates divorce BUT if you refuse to do what your spouse wants you to do and your spouse leaves you, then you bear your part of the responsibility!” And that is where LaHaye’s “decades of marital counseling” was applied to … stories of marriages that had broken up for this very reason. So, LaHaye was not using his counseling experiences to exhort people into attaining a more Godly lifestyle and a mind redeemed by the Holy Spirit, but rather exploiting the pain of the people that he had “counseled” that went on to divorce to use it to frighten men and women – mostly women! – into doing whatever was demanded of them sexually. In one particularly galling example, LaHaye mentioned a man who left his wife and married another. LaHaye states that “while I do not agree with his decision to leave his wife”, he nonetheless depicted the man as happy with his new wife and family and active in the church, while his wife was “sad and lonely.” LaHaye NEVER CALLED THE MAN AN ADULTERER LIVING IN SIN, CAUSING HIS NEW WIFE TO SIN, OR MENTIONED THAT NOT ONLY WAS THE WIFE WHO REMAINED UNMARRIED WAS FREE OF THE SIN OF ADULTERY, BUT WAS ACTUALLY FREE TO MARRY AGAIN!

Listen, what LaHaye and these false teachers claim CONTRADICT what the Bible actually says. Jesus Christ stated that PORNEA was the only acceptable grounds for divorce. Now pornea is a Greek word that is frequently translated into adultery or fornication, but the experts say that the word actually means SEXUAL IMMORALITY. LaHaye has taken Greek, so he knows this. So why does he preach contrary to what the original Bible text says and means? Forcing unnatural sex practices on your wife or husband is actually grounds for divorce, but LaHaye and these other false preachers claim that if you refuse to consent to these sinful acts, the divorce is YOUR FAULT!

Well, it just so happens that EVEN MEDICAL SCIENCE is now proving these people to be liars. This article states that there is a major increase in women getting human papillomavirus, or HPV, from being abused in the sinful practice of anal sex by men. Now hypocrites like LaHaye will get in the pulpit and rant in their hypocritical hatred against homosexuals by calling the lifestyle “unnatural.” That, people, is the definition of homophobia. Why? BECAUSE IN “THE ACT OF MARRIAGE”, LAHAYE DECLARES THE SAME BEHAVIOR OK FOR MARRIED COUPLES! That behavior – plus anything else that your “born – again spouse” demands, LaHaye states that you have to do it to maintain your marriage, and that God is pleased by your remaining in marriage. The implication is that if you DO NOT allow yourself to be abused by your spouse (or consent to abusing your spouse) in this manner – or any other of the manners that LaHaye endorses in his book and the many other false preachers endorse in their false ministries – then you will get divorced, God will be displeased, AND YOU WILL TAKE THE BLAME! PEOPLE LIKE THIS ARE ACTUALLY MAKING PEOPLE FEEL FEARFUL AND GUILTY FOR REFUSING TO SIN! THE PEOPLE THAT REFUSE TO DEFILE THE BEDROOM ARE NOW THE SINNERS!

Again, Tim LaHaye is far from the only one. These false teachings are becoming more and more common in popular Christianity, even outside of the charismatic movement (which a lot of people like to remind us was started by Charles Parham, a Ku Klux Klansman and freemason who was ultimately convicted of sodomizing teenage boys … small wonder that the credit for starting this movement was shifted from him to William Seymour, despite the fact that the doctrines were Parham’s, and Parham trained Seymour in his Bible college – forcing Seymour to listen to his lectures in an adjoining room because the Klansman did not allow integrated classrooms in his Bible college … Seymour’s willingness to be subjected to this treatment in order to learn the false “multiple stages or applications of grace earned by works and evidenced by speaking in unknown tongues” doctrine of Parham is depicted as an example of his Christian humility instead of his determination to receive false doctrines). It really does show not only the severe error and depths of depraved evil of false doctrine, but how seducingly powerful they are.

But realize this: the fact that we should not be taking advice on marital sexuality from false teachers shows that we should not accept their teachings in any other area. It just shows that if a person willingly deviates from the Bible in one area, then they are inevitably going to get other things wrong too. Yes, Tim LaHaye is part and parcel of the prosperity/Word of Faith school of Kenneth Copeland, Paul Crouch, etc. as well as a huge behind the scenes player in religious right politics through cult leader Sun Myung Moon’s Center for National Policy. So if LaHaye is so wrong on this topic that he teaches that sin is not sin if you are married, and that if you refuse to sin in your marriage that makes YOU the sinner, then how wrong is he on other topics? And if he has the potential to be so wrong on so many topics, why follow such a man? This is the problem with heeding the word of apostates.

There are plenty of good preachers out there, so there is no excuse with supporting or patronizing the ministries of people that you know are corrupt. This is yet another example – and an explicit one – of why Christians should turn aside from them. Imagine the depths of sin and depravity that one must fall into in order to advocate this LaHaye nonsense. LaHaye is advocating that in humanity’s pre – fall state in the Garden of Eden, it was acceptable to abuse your wife. That one of the regrettable consequences of the fall of man is that people no longer view it to be acceptable to abuse their spouses sexually, and that we have consciences and inhibitions that convict us and plague us with thoughts of shame that this behavior is not ok (LaHaye makes a big deal of pointing out “and they were not ashamed!”). So … is LaHaye claiming that in our perfect pre – fall state, Eve’s body would heal right up from that abuse? Or maybe the pre – fall body would not be damaged at all? What God – glorifying purpose would have been served by man abusing his wife – even with her consent – or a woman abusing her husband – even at his compulsion – in the Garden of Eden? What God – honoring purpose is accomplished by men and women abusing each other within the confines of marriage NOW? These people never deal with this, because their “ministry” is not about soli deo gloria (the glorification of God alone) but about pleasing their own sin nature: the lust of the EYES, the lust of the FLESH, and the PRIDE of life.

Now I use the term “abuse” because that is what the King James Version uses. Consider the Book of Judges: the sons of Belial ABUSED the man’s concubine all night long AND AS A RESULT OF THE ABUSE OF HER BODY FROM THE UNNATURAL SEX THE WOMAN DIED. King Saul told his armorbearer to kill him BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID THAT THE PHILISTINES WOULD COME AND ABUSE HIM. And 1 Corinthians 6:9 states that THE ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND will not enter heaven. (Please note how the charismatic folks like LaHaye LOVE to ignore 1 Corinthians, their entire movement is based on it.) Now people often take “abusers of themselves with mankind” to be a reference to homosexuality. Fine, but the Greek work translated in 1 Corinthians 6:9 in the King James Version as “effeminate”? It means the recipient of anal sex.

Again, Tim LaHaye knows this. Just like Tim LaHaye knows that slain in the spirit violates 1 Corinthians, just as he knows that the prosperity doctrine and women preachers violate 1 and 2 Timothy. He just does not care, and he depends on YOU not caring either. So, this fellow teaches that Adam and Eve violated 1 Corinthians 6:9 before the fall, and that born again people are no longer under the cursed effects of the fall, so not only are they free to break 1 Corinthians 6:9, but if you refuse to break 1 Corinthians 6:9 and your spouse leaves you, THEN SIN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THAT DEVELOPMENT IS LAID TO YOUR CHARGE!

Of course, this is just one of the perversions promoted by LaHaye in his book, just as the Christian Dr. Ruth industry advocates many others. And this should not surprise us. Consider Romans 1:18-32, the passage that should silence all people who charge God with unfairness for making acceptance of Jesus Christ a requirement for salvation (which I admit was a HUGE hangup in my own personal faith UNTIL I READ IT JUST LAST YEAR … or should I say I UNDERSTOOD the passage just last year when I had read the passage many a time previously and not comprehended it). In that passage, Paul makes a direct immediate correlation between false religion and sexual immorality. It is right there in verses 26 and 27 of this devastating discourse: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” So if idolatry inevitably directly leads to sexual immorality, how much more will false doctrine do the same?

So, people, the fact that devil’s doctrines like these that lead Christians into the worst form of evil and immorality should not be a surprise. The surprise is that more people are not out there exposing and confronting this evil, and that so many alleged Christians react with hate and anger against God’s truth the few times that they are confronted with it.

Big Oil Ties Between George Bush Family And Sun Myung Moon Discovered Religious Right Christians!

Posted by Job on March 4, 2008

Rev. Moon-allied group hosts Bush brother in Paraguay – CNN.com

ASUNCION, Paraguay (AP) — Neil Bush, younger brother of President Bush, called on Paraguay’s president as the guest of a business federation founded by the Rev. Sun Myung Moon. A presidential press office source, who spoke on condition of not being named, confirmed the younger Bush met President Nicanor Duarte on Thursday along with a delegation from the Universal Peace Federation, a group associated with Moon.

Duarte had no statement on the meeting. Antonio Betancourt, a spokesman for the federation, said that Bush visited Duarte and later met with an opposition congressional leader, Sen. Miguel Abdon Saguier, and that both expressed interest in the Bush family and discussed local matters. Betancourt said Bush later attended a leadership seminar sponsored by the federation. The federation’s Web site says it is trying to promote peace in the Middle East, South Asia and other regions, as well as proposing a 50
mile (85-kilometer), $200 billion tunnel linking Siberia and Alaska.

A leading Paraguayan newspaper, ABC Color, reported Friday that Bush spoke at the leadership seminar about instilling a “culture of service” and better uniting individuals and organizations behind objectives that serve peace and the common good. It said the seminar, held at an Asuncion hotel, was entitled “Toward a New Paradigm of Leadership and Government in Times of World Crisis.” The newspaper said other participants included Jose Maria Sanguinetti, the former Uruguayan president. Groups allied with Moon publish a newspaper, operate businesses and have large land holdings in Paraguay, South America’s second-poorest country. Copyright 2008 The Associated Press. OK, so how many of these religious right leaders know about the financial ties between the Bush family and Moon and aren’t saying anything? Probably about the same number that themselves have ties to Moon! People, Jesus Christ is coming back soon, because this anti – Christ system of politics and economics based on all of these strange “universal peace” religious cults is steadily on the march! Are you studying, researching, watching and praying so that you will not be deceived? If not, then what is your excuse? Or maybe your problem is that you are not born again, not a believer in Jesus Christ. If that is your issue then fix it right now: follow The Three Step Salvation Plan!

The Purpose Driven Campaign: Mike Huckabee Shows His True Colors By Apologizing To Mormon Mitt Romney

Posted by Job on December 13, 2007

msnbc.msn.com/id/22239946/

Make no mistake, by apologizing to Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee chose political ambition over the true gospel of Jesus Christ. People, there is nothing to apologize for here. First of all, Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is a creature, a created being. Now the Mormon religion of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and similar specifically sought to distinguish themselves from Christianity, to the point of calling us “apostates” and “Gentiles.” Their modern goal, however, is to get Mormonism to be regarded “a Christian denomination” so that people will view going from Mormonism to Christianity as being no different from going to Presbyterianism to Lutheranism or Methodism to Baptism. So they do not make it publicly known that Mormonism holds Jesus Christ to be a creature. Instead, they tell you that they regard Jesus Christ as the son of God, and leave it at that. Of course, their hope is that the person who hears that will do so according to the assumptions inherent in Christianity, and presume that Mormons believe the same thing that we do. They do not. Christians know that Jesus Christ is uncreated but rather has always existed as part of the Triune Godhead, the same as the Father and equal to the Father. Mormons claim that God created Jesus Christ just as He created bugs and rocks. Further, consider the fact that Christianity knows that God and Jesus Christ are of the same essence or substance. This cannot be according to Mormonism, for the Mormon god does not truly “create”, call things into existence out of nothing, but rather reorganizes matter that already exists. So while it is incorrect to say that the Mormon Jesus was created by nebular space dust, he cannot be of the same essence or substance as the Father, cannot be equal to the Father, and cannot in any sense be deity. And this leaves alone the fact that Mormonism holds that God the Father Himself was a man who progressed to godhood.

So is the notion that Jesus Christ and Satan are spirit brothers offensive to Mormons and should not be said? Well consider this: the notion was not first said by Christians! Rather, it was first said by Mormons themselves! This is where such comments can be found:

This is far from a comprehensive list, but rather what appears on a single web page, which also contains the relevant quotes from those passages that I did not include for space purposes. Of course, Mormons will say that they are taken apart from context, and that is not entirely unfair. But that ignores the fact that 1. the false teaching exists to be taken apart from context to begin with and 2. their attempts to place it into proper context generally consists of little more than attempting to demonstrate that their doctrine is justified in the Bible. The primary purpose of their claim that their teachings are misunderstood and taken out of context is to avoid having to admit their doctrine that Jesus Christ is a mere creature and it is further extremely unlikely that Christians would have said such a thing – for it is one thing to be a creature but quite another to be Satan’s brother – had Mormons themselves not first said so.

Mitt Romney knows this. That is why the speech of his that is being given so much praise by the religious right apostates specifically called Jesus Christ the Son of God but went no further, with Romney dishonestly claiming that saying any more violates the spirit of Article 6 of the Constitution. Well why even say that Jesus Christ is the Son of God since Jews, Muslims, and even liberal Christians in the tradition of Martin Luther King, Jr. who believe that Jesus Christ was just an ordinary man cannot say the same? Simple: Romney does not so much fear “anti – Mormon bigotry” as he is insistent upon making acceptance of Mormonism and his candidacy a package deal.

Is Romney overtly evangelizing in the sense that he is passing out Mormon tracts at campaign events? No. But by establishing terms where it is inappropriate to talk about the differences between Mormons and Christians by exploiting not so much as Article 6 but the concept of “civil public religion” that was created in the early days of this country so that there could be cooperation between Unitarians, deists, freemasons, Enlightenment agnostics, and Christians and was recreated under the banner of “the religious right” to unite Catholics, Jews, and evangelical Christians, Romney is trying to get Mormonism included within the religious political mainstream. Please realize that this religio – political mainstream was never formed to promote spiritual aims – for the groups have disparate spiritual beliefs and agendas – but rather for secular ones. In other words, the civil religion of our founding fathers and of the modern religious right is in fact no less than the very secular humanism that these people hypocritically claim to oppose, and the hypocrisy is no less than Mitt Romney taking the position that his own Article 6 views should not apply to an atheist.

What Romney and his allies are doing is using politics to advance the evil notion that a false religion is just as good as Christianity so long as “you have the right values.” Basically, it is a values based – or should I say works based – universal common religion. In that respect, it is no different from the religious left! For an example, let us turn to the center of the Roman Catholic – Jewish – evangelical neoconservative universalism, the National Review, specifically comments from their “The Corner” weblog.

Mormonism & “Weirdness” [Mike Potemra]

Thanks to all the readers who passed along their kind words in response to my post about Mormons. To the readers, on the other hand, who have written me about how I should be worried about the (in the words of one) “extremely strange” and “Scientology-level strange” beliefs of Mormons, here’s my response: In my own faith, we believe that the cause of all evil was a single mistake by human beings many millennia ago—but that the situation was set right . . . because we murdered an innocent man 2,000 years ago. Therefore: I’m not about to throw stones about beliefs that sound weird to people who don’t share them. (First of all, Christians do not oppose Mormonism because it is “weird” but because it is WRONG. And if you are unwilling to throw stones, then it is only because you believe Christianity to be a glass house. Therefore, you are not a believer.)

Michael Novak and Mormonism [Mike Potemra]

I want to second something Michael Novak said. In my decades’ worth of meeting people from many different religious backgrounds, I have found that in every faith tradition-Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, what have you-there is roughly the same proportion of nice people and jerks. To this rule there is one conspicuous exception: Mormons. I have yet to meet a single Mormon who has been a jerk-and I have met many LDS believers. As someone who grew up in Rudy Giuliani’s faith, and is now somewhere between Mike Huckabee’s and John McCain’s, I find Mitt Romney’s religious background a factor that makes me more, rather than less, likely to vote for him. (Of course, this means that Potemra is not black, so the Mormon teaching that blacks are the cursed seed of Ham means nothing to him. Potemra also has not administered a weblog which calls Mormonism a false religion that will fill you full of demons and send you to the lake of fire for an eternity, because if he did he would CERTAINLY encounter a multitude of Mormons that are not nearly so nice. Even were what he said true … so what? Where in the Bible does it say that “nice people” are going to heaven? Was Jesus Christ being “nice” when He drove the thieves from the temple and told the Pharisees that invited Him to their house as a dinner guest that they were going to the lake of fire?)

That is just a few. Basically, read the National Review and you will encounter Catholics who see little difference between Mormons, Jews, and Protestant Christians, evangelicals who see little difference between Mormons, Jews, and Catholics, and Jews who have Catholics, Protestant Christians, and Mormons all in the same boat. The same is true of the Weekly Standard, Human Events, Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, etc. Why? Because it is a secular movement and not a religious one, and Romney’s agenda is to get Mormons a seat at this secularist table that exploits religious organizations to pursue their secular goals.

And why not? Mormons outnumber Jews numerically, and to be quite honest the GOP party machinery would much rather keep evangelicals within the same position as the Democrats have blacks: seen on election day and given token representation in response, but nothing in terms of actual power or setting an agenda. And that is why these people have the sharp knives out for Huckabee for being a fiscal moderate but are just fine with Rudy Giuliani for being to the left of most Democrats on social issues. The concessions that Romney and Giuliani had to make to govern with Democrats are just fine, but Huckabee is held to some mythic Barry Goldwater standard (hypocritically of course, because the Barry Goldwater in this race, Ron Paul, they hate him too!).

Why? Because rank and file evangelicals are motivated by religion, and not some vision of the way things ought to be based on their secular views, and the GOP does not want anyone representing them to gain real power. The truth is that the GOP has the same view of evangelicals as the left does: fanatics seeking to make the United States a Christian Taliban regime. They just will not admit it because they need evangelicals to retain power so that they can implement their secular ideas. In that respect, they are no different from Democrats, who in case you have noticed is in no hurry to actually be governed by blacks.

So how does getting involved with this den of liars and thieves advance Mormonism? Simple. If Mormonism is included within our “conservative secular religion”, as we well know what is considered acceptable in the secular realm will also be considered acceptable in mainstream Christianity. So just as conversions from evangelical Christianity into Roman Catholicism, once unthinkable, has become not only commonplace but even trendy thanks to the religious right (and see how one of the first prominent religious right leaders to do so, Richard Neuhaus, all but claims Mormonism to be no different from Protestant Christianity here http://www.irr.org/mit/Neuhaus.html with “The history of Christianity, notably since the sixteenth-century Reformation, is littered with prophets and seers who have reestablished “the true church,” usually in opposition to the allegedly false church of Rome, and then, later, in opposition to their own previously true churches” and many similar statements). And now you have Christianity Today, the most prominent evangelical Christian publication, taking seriously the claim that evangelicals should abandon sola scriptura – scripture alone – and accept manmade tradition in order to accommodate and facilitate the growing intermingling between evangelicals and Catholics. Of course, there is no real difference between accepting the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and the tradition of Joseph Smith. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. See Why So Many Prominent Catholics Are Supporting Romney and Bob Novak Joins Catholic Chorus Lying For Mormon Mitt Romney for an example of what I speak.

Truthfully, it is happening already. Here are the comments of evangelical Christian John Schroeder about why Christians should not oppose the teachings that Jesus Christ and Satan are brothers: “Let’s see, we creedal Christians (the new name for Christians for Mormons as calling us apostates and Gentiles is now too strident I guess) believe Satan is a fallen angel; therefore created by God. Save for the by now widely known and completely irrelevant to politics differences in views of the Godhead – Where’s the beef?” here. He is not the only one. Some religious right leaders are actually going about claiming that Mormonism is fully compatible with the Bible, and that the differences are only interpretations, depictions, semantics, etc.

Now Huckabee Hound could expose this whole racket. But he apologizes for telling the truth even in the most timid of fashions! By doing so, Huckabee furthers the precedent that Christians cannot speak the truth outside of a church setting (and even now, the religious right sharks are digging through his old sermons to find information to embarrass him) by retreating from it. Now is this about respecting the beliefs of Mormons? Of course it is, and Christians should have no respect for a lie. Having respect for a lie is akin to either declaring agnosticism on the lie being true or pretending that all liars will have any other fate than the lake of fire. And it has nothing to do with disrespecting Mormons themselves. Disrespecting anyone, Mormons included, is a sin because we are all created in the image of God.

Take the person that claims that 1 + 1 = 3. Should we respect that man? Of course, for he is made in the image of God. Should we respect that man’s belief that 1 + 1 = 3? Of course not, for we know that it is a lie! And do not think that believing that 1 + 1 = 3 (and all of the negative assumptions and deductions that would follow from it) is a trivial matter. Would you hire such a person as an engineer to design dams and bridges? As a pharmacist to fill prescriptions? Of course not! Suffering such a person in that matter will result in the natural deaths of innocent people. So how much less should we have respect for a false religion that will result in people being cast into the lake of fire for eternity?

Now it does turn out that Mormons do not believe the same about Christians, believing that Christians who do good works will receive positive accommodations by God in the afterlife (by the way, this was not the original teaching of Joseph Smith, a fact which many Mormons are unaware of) and get highly offended when they hear of Christians consigning them to the lake of fire. But why should we have any more respect to the offense given to Mormons on this matter than anyone else? And if we are not willing to offend with the gospel, then we have no gospel.

Again, Huckabee knows this. Huckabee did not apologize on the account of Mormons, from whom he knows he will receive precious few votes. Huckabee apologized to curry favor with those who believe “if this is what Huckabee believes about Mormons, then he believes the same about me … that I am going to the lake of fire too, and I am offended by that!” Huckabee’s apology was not for the benefits of Mormons that reject Jesus Christ, but non – Mormons who do, and that includes not a few professed Christians that are politically conservative but practice a modern humanistic faith that either does not condemn anyone with “good values” to the lake of fire or does not force them to be confronted with the reality of the horror that actual living, breathing people that they see every day are going to receive this most horrible fate. And yes, he also apologized for the benefit of legitimate evangelical Christians that are hesitant to vote for anyone “divisive” and “controversial” and were attracted to Huckabee precisely because of his populist positive campaign (a formula that he learned from Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven apostate movement: Why The Media Likes Mike Huckabee So Much: He Is A Rick Warren Worker!). If Huckabee used the Warren method to grow a tiny Arkansas church to a 10,000 person megachurch, then getting Christian voters to choose him over Rudy Giuliani is no small accomplishment. The problem is that he is getting evangelicals to vote for him for the same theologically thin, suspect, and compromised reasons that he, Warren, and other Purpose Driven/emergent types get people to join their churches in the first place.

And the Rick Warren piece is key here. While Huckabee is using electoral politics to recruit conservative evangelicals through presidential process, Rick Warren is going after liberals and those in other religions. First of all, note his relationship with – gasp! – MORMONS!

Rick Warren ‘Works With’ and ‘Strengthens’ Mormon Churches and Other Non-Christian Sects

Second, see how Warren is going after Muslims: ISLAM AND CHRISTIANITY: THE DEITY OF CHRIST and also Rick Warren Universalist Apostasy Meeting Details Here!

The “Islam and Christianity” link above reminds me of how TBN is using Jeremiah Cummings as well as the oneness preachers like T. D. Jakes, Noel Jones, Juanita Bynum, and Tommy Tenney to court Islam: TBN: REPAINTING ISLAM and
Trinity Broadcasting Network Tries To Merge Islam And Christianity!. And yes, TBN has made overtures to Mormons before: Mormons, Muslims, Oneness Pentecostals, And TBN, OH MY!

These all cannot be coincidences people. There is too much going on here with groups like the Center For National Policy (a Sun Myung Moon shadow group, see Want A List Of Pastors Who Took Sun Myung Moon’s Money?) and the Council on Foreign Relations (who counts Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush, Newt Gingrich, Oprah Winfrey, T. D. Jakes, and RICK WARREN among is members and the Center for National Policy as one of its umbrella groups in the United States) for it to be. It is called the great apostasy people, the falling away of 2 Thessalonians 2:3!

By apologizing to a man whose beliefs that he knows are false for the “crime” of doing the world a favor and letting them know that they are false, Mike Huckabee shows that he is part of it. For Huckabee is after power, influence, and the things and cares of this world. James 4:4 says this about people like Huckabee Hound: “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” I suppose that Huckabee and those like him would have been highly offended at James for calling him a spiritual adulterer and an enemy of God, but I can guarantee you that James would never have apologized for it.

Ties Between Mike Huckabee And John Hagee Discovered! (He Also Has Ties To Kenneth Copeland, Tim LaHaye, And Rick Warren)

Posted by Job on December 6, 2007

It is getting harder and harder to avoid applying the “how can two walk together unless they be agreed”of Amos 3:3 to Mike Huckabee. I have already given you the ties between Huckabee and Kenneth Copeland: Mike Huckabee Defends Kenneth Copeland!, as well as those between Huckabee and Rick Warren: Why The Media Likes Mike Huckabee So Much: He Is A Rick Warren Worker!. Well, now here comes news that Tim LaHaye of the false doctrine Left Behind novels (I am not calling it false doctrine because of the pretribulation stance but rather because of many other things see More “Left Behind” False Doctrine Exposed, Should Christians Commit Murder For “The Cause”? and False Doctrine In “Left Behind”: The Remnant Teaches Against the Doctrine of the God-Sent Strong Delusion) as well as a “Christian marital sexuality” book that is just as perverse as the teachings of Juanita Bynum and Thomas Weeks III (like them he takes the false position that it is OK to defile someone with ungodly sexual activity so long as that person is your spouse). Well, LaHaye just endorsed Huckabee.

Now Tim LaHaye with his books and movies promotes the flavor of pretribulation dispensationalism that is heavily contributed to the creation of precisely the “attack Iran to protect Israel” Christian Zionism political worldview that has allowed John Hagee to exploit it and become a political player. (LaHaye is also himself a leading figure of the religious right through the Council For National Policy, a group heavily indebted to cult leader Sun Myung Moon behind the scenes … see Want A List Of Pastors Who Took Sun Myung Moon’s Money?, and a Christian Zionist in his own right.)

Well, the Christian brother at Pro Libertate has discovered a longtime connection between Hagee’s people and Huckabee.

Quoting him: “Late last Summer, a cover story in Strang’s New Man magazine anointed Huckabee as the heir apparent to George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. In recent weeks, Huckabee has tapped Strang to serve on his “Faith and Values Coalition,” which is intended to attract money from, and consolidate support within, the Christian Right. Strang served a similar role in the early days of Bush the Lesser’s first presidential campaign. Strang is also a regional director of Hagee’s Christians United for Israel, a pressure group that describes itself – without a detectable hint of irony – as a “Christian AIPAC,” as if one such organization weren’t a sufficient burden and blight upon our land .. Stephen Strang is the human vinculum between Huckabee and Hagee. Strang, a long-time friend and business associate of Hagee, presides over a Pentecostal publishing empire; among Strang’s imprints is Front Line books, which has published several of Hagee’s books, including his latest, In Defense of Israel.” Now this “In Defense of Israel” is the same one where Hagee denies that Jesus Christ is the Messiah! See John Hagee Claims That Jesus Christ Was Not The Messiah, More On John Hagee Jesus Did Not Come To Be The Messiah Apostasy Book, and Can We Do Anything To Speed The Return Of Jesus Christ? Why I Say NO!

And this goes back to Amos 3:3. See how these people who agree walk together? It is no coincidence, but rather because they are dealing with the same evil spirits: a lust for power and wealth that causes them to come together in like mind and united purpose because they have given themselves over to them. Folks, this is serious business, and it is for God’s people, not those who have sold out to the world and believe that the kingdom of God can be advanced through its ways rather than by what Jesus Christ did on the cross and the workings of the Holy Spirit through the church. These religious right folks are honestly trying to re – establish Constantine’s imperial Roman state church in America with its “state theology of Eusebius” as its doctrine, which actually makes them a bigger threat than the religious left!

Christians, what will happen will happen. God is in ultimate control, and things like who will be made leaders of nations are all part of His plan of bringing history to its conclusion and the return of His Son Jesus Christ, who Himself does not know the day or hour that said event will happen. So do not fret because of these things … they were prophesied long ago in Matthew 24, Revelation, Daniel, and similar. Our tasks are 1.) to persevere until the end and 2.) not allow the wicked state of the world to cause us to reject 1.) by joining and supporting these anti – Christ movements. All you have to do is look at how “Christian broadcasting” and the “Christian media” have worked together to create a class of celebrities with a lot of money, power, and influence that are capable of pulling such a thing off: again consider the influence of things like Paul Crouch’s TBN empire, Rod Parsley’s get out the vote efforts being credited for George W. Bush carrying Ohio (Parsley originally attached himself to Roman Catholic Rick Santorum), and now this. Please know that in the very near future, these people are going to have more influence still.

How? Well so far the religious right has been thus that: a movement of white conservative evangelical Christians. But now they are expanding. First Barack HUSSEIN Obama then Hillary Clinton spoke at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church under the auspices of “we must all come together to combat AIDS”. Please recall that Pat Robertson’s CBN endorsed Warren’s invitation to Obama, and the invite to Clinton has been met with silence from the evangelical leadership that has been unwilling to stand up to either Rick Warren or the emergent church (see Abrahamic Faith Continues The Battle Against Rick Warren Purpose Driven Apostasy In Southern Baptist Convention). Another thing about Huckabee … he is bragging about how he received 48% of the black vote in Arkansas. Come on, the man is a very gifted Baptist preacher with a moderate populist economic message, so what prevents this guy from going into virtually any black church and bringing down the house, especially with Barack Obama offending some of the more conservative black Christian Democrats with his support for abortion and gay rights (see Pastors: Keep Obama Balaam out of your pulpit!)?

See Christians, Satan does not care about your race or religious affiliation, he just wants to see your soul receive the same fate as he. Do not let the false promises of religion and politics be the tool that he uses to lead you astray. Christians, if Mike Huckabee is the next president or vice president of the United States (I still thinking that a Giuliani – Huckabee ticket is more likely … please recall that Pat Robertson endorsed the former Is The Pat Robertson Endorsement Of Rudy Giuliani An Attempt To Freeze Out Ron Paul?), let it happen without your help. Please recall that this has been my position on moneychanger Mormon Mitt Romney from day one (see why I call him a moneychanger here: because it is true! The Unsaved Have More Discernment Over Mitt Romney Than The Religious Right), and it applies to Mike Huckabee as well.

And in the event that an endorsement from James Dobson makes you think that it is OK to trust Huckabee, please see this: Warren, Robertson, Dobson, Other Evangelical Leaders Were Recruited For Globalist Agendas. And lest some of you are tempted to write me off as some crank complainer who offers no solutions, let me say this: Jesus Christ is our solution. He always has been and always will be. Our losing sight of that fact and trying to go after worldly solutions (after “Christianizing” them first) is the root of so many of our evils.

Is The New Evangelicalism Any Worse Than The Old?

Posted by Job on December 3, 2007

The New Evangelicalism By Jan Markell www.olivetreeviews.org

When I first filtered into an evangelical church at the age of 14, defining the term “evangelical” was simple, even for a kid my age. Without having to be told, I concluded evangelicals preached a solid gospel, emphasized evangelism and missions, majored in soul-winning and minored in social issues, abstained from some worldly values, were faithful in church attendance, Bible reading, and generally had a biblical worldview. I was never ashamed of the old definition of “evangelicalism.”

Those churches are still around, but something has happened in the last twenty years. New leaders are rising and some do NOT preach a solid gospel yet are called evangelicals. (Did your movement preach a solid gospel?) To me, this says today no one is really sure what “evangelicalism” means. (That is because when your folks were in control of the movement, you never defined it by your own example as it was never an attempt to practice the New Testament faith. Instead, the movement was desired to be a “third way” between the the liberal mainline denominationals and the “conservative” fundamentalists, some of whom you were more disdainful and ashamed of than not only the liberal mainline denominationals but even people who were not Christians at all.) When those leaning left such as Tony Campolo and Jim Wallis are called evangelicals, I can tell we have a new day. (So we were much better off with the evangelical movement being led by conservatives like Mike Huckabee, Jimmy Swaggart, Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Ted Haggard, Ralph Reed, Bill Bennett, and Pat Robertson.) When “Emergent Church” leaders such as Brian McClaren, Rob Bell, and Erwin McManus are called evangelicals, something is a-miss. This is just blatant false labeling. (No, it is appropriation of a label that was false to begin with.)

“The New York Times” states, “A tug of war is unfolding behind the scenes over theology –should evangelicalism be a big tent open to divergent views, or a smaller movement with more pure theology?” (I prefer the unstated option #3, which is first trying to make an honest attempt to discern what the Bible is saying to us, and then making an honest attempt at doing it. Is there any evidence that this was ever the primary purpose of the movement popularized by the universalist populist Billy Graham?)

Theology isn’t the only issue. Some of today’s so-called evangelicals are into global warming, immigration issues, anti-war movements, and other causes that were once found only in churches a part of the World and National Council of Churches. (So … churches are not supposed to oppose unjust wars and illegal immigration?) They are involved in ridding the world of AIDS, which is an impossibility but a noble cause, but is it the cause of evangelicals? (This is dishonest. Virtually no one is trying to rid the world of a disease for which there is no vaccine or cure. They are merely trying to prevent the spread of the disease and treat people that have it. The fact that she is hostile to the church doing something about AIDS makes me wonder if she has a cultural bias against the people that disproportionately have it. Well, the lepers faced cultural bias in the time of Jesus Christ too, and Christ healed them.) Or is it just the old social gospel from which evangelicals fled in the 1940s so a few denominations could focus almost exclusively on soul-winning and Bible teaching? (Fleeing the social gospel? Yes. But founding your church based on a selfish hard – hearted partial gospel that ignores people’s human needs and is harsh towards sinners? That is not what Jesus Christ and His apostles preached or practiced, but quite the opposite: they condemned it. Read the book of James: faith without works is dead.)

Now the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) has a new leader and he hails from my hometown, Minneapolis, MN. (That people did not leave the NAE when the truth was found out about some of its leaders like Ted Haggard and James Dobson, and so many of its leaders are members of the Council on Foreign Relations and take money from Sun Myung Moon … well that is your own fault.) He states that issues to be addressed by the NAE include human rights, creation care, justice and compassion for the poor, torture, and seeking peace in the world. Isn’t this the organization that should be reminding the world that it is racing towards judgment and there may not be a lot of time to repent? It sounds like making the world a better place to live is the new “great commission.”
(No, we should be doing what Jesus Christ and His apostles told us to do in the New Testament. If certain people are erroring by wanting to do more, your error is worse because you want to do less.)

I am very uneasy when “evangelicals” remind me of social gospel leftists and when sound theology is replaced by feelings and experience. (So what, you were feeling “easy” before? You were in your little comfort zone before? Well, when I read the New Testament, what I see is that the gospel is supposed to make you uneasy, to take you out of your comfort zone, to cause you to do things that you would not ordinarily do. The rich young ruler was made uneasy by the gospel too. Herod was made uneasy by the preaching of John. I really am not seeing much of a difference between erring on the right side or erring on the left.) Or when once-sound theologians applaud the new “Christian mysticism” and rally around “unity.” (And who are these once – sound theologians? Billy Graham? Robert Schuller? A lot of these guys have ALWAYS had problems. The only thing that is going on now is that they have crossed some little cultural line in our minds that have forced us to confront it. Like all the Christians who abandoned Ted Haggard for being homosexual when he had so many other problems.) When church-growth methods take center stage and a church has to have a “marketing approach.” I thought God was the “Marketer-in-Chief” of all churches and ministries. (Sorry, that is the Reformed/Calvinist/fundamentalist predestination/election Christianity that the free will evangelical movement has made a point of rejecting in order to curry a measure of favor with the world as being “moderate”, “reasonable”, and “more compassionate. Even when I was free will evangelical, I couldn’t stand how we were so quick to sell out our more theologically conservative brethren for the respect of the God – haters.) He causes or hinders growth and the spiritual maturity of the body matters far more than growth in numbers.

Old fashioned evangelicalism is on life-support and has been snatched in what the Bible calls an “end-time falling away” (II Thess. 2). I see a new “slippery slope” and enormous compromise, and I will not remain silent. Yet the Lord loves His church. He has not forsaken it. (Again, if this woman’s comments are representative of old – fashioned evangelicalism mindset, then its adherents may not be as bad as Rick Warren or the emergents in a doctrinal,.worship, or personal behavior sense, but it is still not the full gospel that was once given to the saints. And if your spirit does not burn for the teachings that was given in the New Testament, should you examine yourself to be in the faith? How many of you have visited a person in prison, for instance? Or encouraged and prayed for an AIDS or cancer patient? I admit … I have never done such a thing, and that I need to. But quite frankly, people who claim to be in love with that old time religion while exhibiting no desire to do these things or pretending that they are mere side issues scare me. What is the point of taking such pride in believing that the Bible is inspired, inerrant, and the final authority if you are not out there doing what the Bible says?)

Want A List Of Pastors Who Took Sun Myung Moon’s Money?

Some of these folks appear to have been aligned with his right wing political groups only. Others, though, used his money to pay off debts and support their ministries. Others still are very heavily involved with the guy.
