Terry Jones Quran (Koran) Burning Is Just One System Of Idolatry Versus Another

Posted by Job on September 9, 2010

Terry Jones, pastor of Dove World Outreach Center, is planning to commemorate the 9th anniversary of September 11th by burning copies of the Qu’ran (Koran), which is regarded as the holy book for those who practice Islam. These intentions have horrified a great number of people. Many of them, including of course Muslims and also Bible-believing Christians, are no doubt sincere in their intense opposition to this event. Many others, however, are of course grandstanding hypocrites who passionately defend and take pleasure in similar attacks against Christianity and those who practice it. However, there is another group of hypocrites that figure prominently in this controversy, as they were the ones who laid the very groundwork for such a thing as this to happen with their words, doctrines and deeds. Many Christians involved in “religious right” politics are falling over themselves to denounce Jones and his actions as un-Christian, taking full advantage of the opportunity to publicly exhibit their opposition to bigotry. These religious right Christians have spent decades preaching the false gospel of what can be called “Americhristianity“, a syncretism of (false) Christianity and America worship. Realize this: Terry Jones is being consistent here. He is only practicing what his religion preaches, and so is the “Ameri-Christian” who commits a “hate crime” against a Muslim, illegal immigrant, abortion doctor, homosexual or what have you. For the religious right sorts to disseminate their idolatrous doctrines and then disavow the consequences is no different from the imam who preaches jihad and then distances himself from the suicide bomber. Now do not get me wrong, only a tiny percentage of Muslims commit violence based on their religious beliefs. But make no mistake: the same is true of Ameri-Christians.

This should not surprise anyone, as violence is a logical consequence of idolatry. A look at Romans 1:18-32 shows us the evil that following dead idols causes: being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful, etc. Muslims get angry over a Florida pastor burning a Qu’ran? Well, a Florida pastor received death threats from the Ameri-Christians in his own congregation over his removing the American flag from the pulpit! His motivation? Wanting the church to focus on Jesus Christ!

Time to rewind a bit. A lot of people have made false equivalence between burning Bibles and burning the Qu’ran. This is apples and oranges because where Christians merely respect and cherish Bibles, Muslims actually regard copies of the Qu’ran as holy. Essentially, to the Muslim, the Qu’ran is an idol. Christians have no such view of the Bible, because Christianity holds that only God is holy. Thus, the only way to be holy is through a connection to or relationship with God. Born-again Christians are hence holy because God grants us this status through Jesus Christ, and also because God’s Holy Spirit indwells the Christian. So, in Christianity, one commits no sin against anything holy by burning a Bible. Instead, the Christian commits a sin against that which is holy when he sins against his body by breaking God’s commandments to us (see 1 Corinthians 6:18). (Among those commandments? Not to be an idolater!)

So why the difference between the Christian view of the Bible and the Muslim view of the Qu’ran? Return to Romans 1:18-32. It tells us that early in the history of the human race, beginning with Adam and for a time thereafter, man knew God. Now this may give pause to Christians who are conditioned to see God’s being known to man, particularly in a special or religious sense, through Old Testament Judaism and Christianity. Please recall that the Bible is not a comprehensive history, but concentrates on that which is necessary for salvation. Also, the Bible does speak of those who had a relationship with him prior to the calling of Abraham, a group which includes Abel, Enoch, Noah, Melchizedek and Job. The Bible says that men began to call upon the Name of Yahweh in Genesis 4:26. “Call upon the Name” means to worship. Now God had been worshiped prior to that, for remember Abel’s sacrifice, an act of worship that God accepted. Also, the divine Name Yahweh was already known to humanity at that time, as Eve used it in Genesis 4:1 on the occasion of Cain’s birth. So, whatever development that Genesis 4:26 is supposed to refer to exactly, it is clear that at that stage, humanity had knowledge of God by worshiping Him using God’s personal Name.

However, by Genesis 6, things had changed. The population of the earth increased, and man became extremely wicked. Mankind had perverted himself, and as a result the earth was filled with violence. The cause of this? Again, Romans 1:18-32 says that wicked imaginations, perverse natures and violence comes from idolatry, and it also strongly suggests that at this time mankind completely gave himself over to this practice. Verses 21-25 read:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Mankind ceased to worship God, the unseen Spirit, and instead worshiped creatures, meaning things that are created. This included the use of tangible, physical objects that represent entities or ideas – idols – in worship. And to the idolater, the creature, or its symbolic representative stand-in, is itself regarded as “holy”, and even may be considered to have magical or supernatural powers. If nothing else, the idol is a very valuable, cherished and beloved possession because of what it represents to its owner. So, mankind totally gave himself over to rejecting the holiness of the Creator in order to embrace the idea that things created – whether by God or man – were worthy of this reverent status instead.

Because this mindset was embedded in fallen humanity, God condescended to mankind’s status and incorporated some elements of it in the Sinai religion given by Moses to the Jews. Because of this, in Old Testament Judaism, certain days, holidays (or “holy days”), observances, places, objects and rituals were declared holy. However, we must realize that these things were so because God declared them to be as such. Also, God had His purposes. For instance, things that came into contact with God’s presence or were used in giving offerings to God had to be set apart and purified in order to teach Israel about God’s sinless nature and man’s sinfulness. Further, other things were declared holy because of Christological typology.

So what must be emphasized is that things like the temple, the altar, the ark of the covenant, the burnt offering tools etc. were not holy in and of themselves, but were only so because of their identification with God, their proximity to His presence and their use in His plan. It was never an endorsement of the idea that objects, places, rituals or even ideologies were to be considered holy, contained some spiritual or magical powers, imparted grace, and treated that such. So, when Jesus Christ fulfilled all things concerning the Sinai religion that was used as a schoolmaster to bring us to Him (Galatians 3:24-25) the idea of “holy things” ended. Evidence of this was the ripping of the veil of the temple.

However, the desire of people call things other than God holy did not end. As a consequence, Islam reveres not only its books, but its (alleged) prophet, buildings, cities (Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem), and even nations that are fully under Muslim control as holy. But the issue here is that it is not unique to Islam, but is also present in false versions of Christianity. Consider Catholicism (Roman and Orthodox) with its sacraments that according to their teachings impart grace, and its seemingly endless assortment of “saints”, icons, relics etc. that are targets of “veneration” because of some spiritual or mystical reason or other.

What does this have to do with Terry Jones? Well, his Ameri-Christianity is more of the same. His Qu’ran burning is not being done for theological reasons. If it were, he would also burn the Book of Mormon, the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Watchtower Magazine, and articles from other false faiths. Instead, Jones is singling out the Qu’ran because he has bought into the right wing dogma that Islam constitutes some sort of threat to the American way of life. And since Ameri-Christianity is this blend of certain – but not all – Christian doctrines and some – but again not all – American ideas and traditions, in the eyes of the Ameri-Christian like Jones, an attack on one is an attack on the other.

Make no mistake, whether they support this Qu’ran burning of Jones or not, religious right Ameri-Christians worship the creature besides the Creator. This great nation of ours is but a creature. Further, as Old Testament Israel was the only nation to be created by God, it is a creation of men. And God did not create our institutions or system of laws as He did with Old Testament Israel. Instead, men created democracy (where the Bible only deals with monarchy and theocracy), men created capitalism (which did not even exist until the groundwork for it was accidentally laid by John Calvin), and men created the concept of individual and human rights (the result of Enlightenment philosophers’ taking portions of the Roman Catholic concept of natural law that they found useful and applying it to the secular arena). Ameri-Christians have taken these works of human hands to be the result of divine providence, and quite possibly even divine revelation, and therefore in their eyes to oppose them is to oppose God, and supporting them is part and parcel of the gospel of Jesus Christ. You can turn on conservative talk radio – or even Christian radio – at any time and hear so many Christians profess “I believe in and support the Bible and the Constitution 100%” when the truth is that not only does one not have anything to do with the other, but that the worldviews of the Bible (divine revelation) and the Constitution (humanism and deism) are opposed. The Bible is the Word of God, the Constitution is the word of Caesar. Render under Caesar that which is Caesar’s, but give to God that which is God, and never shall the twain be intermixed!

Now again, let us go back to the Biblically established truth that idolatry leads to violence and apply it to Ameri-Christianity. How many Christians accept without question the idea that the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were justified in order to protect the American way of life because it includes the ability to practice Christianity freely? How many of us even justify this concept with thinking like “America needs to remain free and prosperous so that American Christians will have the financial resources to sponsor missions and help the poor in third world countries.” Well dear Christians, the early church of Acts was neither free OR wealthy, yet they managed to evangelize the Roman Empire AND meet the needs of the poor!

Consider another example. How many Christians advocate – or would refuse to criticize – the killing of a robber that is only taking money or property and not physically endangering anyone? Truthfully, very few, because we have the conviction that “we have the right/responsibility to protect our private property.” Now do not err by bringing up the law given to Old Testament Israel concerning executing thieves. A person operating under New Testament doctrine knows that human life is more valuable than property, and that it is better to spare a thief in the hopes that he might hear the gospel down the line than to blow him away after the manner of some Clint Eastwood or Charles Bronson movie. This is further evidence that mammon (possessions, “rights”, and the pleasures and passions that we obtain from them) is the true god of the Ameri-Christian.

Consider that such people live in fear of losing their freedoms, their rights and way of life. Well, what freedom, what rights does a slave have? What way of life does a slave enjoy except that which his master dictates? Now the legitimate Christian is a slave to Jesus Christ. The slave of Jesus Christ is able to find joy, peace, fulfillment and all else that he needs whether he is free prince in America or an oppressed pauper in Indonesia. Ameri-Christians reject slavery to Christ in favor of the idea of being their own masters. Being Christian is merely another lifestyle decision that they choose for themselves, and quite frankly they would find practicing Christianity under adverse or oppressive conditions to be more burdensome than liberating.

Thus, it would not surprise me the least if an Ameri-Christian is far more likely to suffer the experience of enduring living in a poor, oppressive overseas regime as a member of the military and therefore willing and ready to kill if ordered to do so by the creature than as a missionary sharing the gift of eternal life if ordered to do so by the Creator. To such a person, making such a lifestyle sacrifice in order to mete out death in defense of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” is more agreeable than doing so in order to share the message of life and life more abundantly. And we can only imagine what such a person would think of the one who is a conscientious objector because of the teachings of Jesus Christ on the Sermon of the Mount! For the Ameri-Christian, “the American way of life” is morally and theologically prior to the New Testament.

This ideology is guilty of recognizing one of the main themes of the Sinai religion of the Old Testament. Consider the offering altar. It could only be made of earth, or of a single stone. It could not be made of hewn stone or constructed in any way, because the tools used to make the altar were unholy, and that which was holy was not allowed to mix or come in contact with that which was holy. That was a principle that held for everything and everyone that came into contact with God’s presence, or was used in making an offering to God. If anything common or regular came into contact with anything or anyone that was supposed to make an offering to God or be in God’s presence, then the thing that was supposed to be holy had to go through a purification process.

This was supposed to teach Christians that God is unique, separate and holy and cannot be mixed with or attached to anything worldly, common or unclean. That is what Ameri-Christianity does. It takes the worldly, common things (culture, economics, politics, ideology) and attempts to fuse it with the holiness of God’s Holy Spirit and presence. The result is something that is no longer clean, holy or spiritual, and hence no longer legitimately Christian. Think about that the next time that you hear someone declare that America is “a Christian nation.” Such a thing cannot exist, because it is a mixture of a common creature (America) with a Holy Creator. The very tools that were used to construct America defile it, making it an unworthy altar, and we cannot make an acceptable offering to God on an unclean altar that God rejects. Thus, the person who in any sense joins being American with being Christian is only capable of making an offering to God after the manner of Cain. And let us recall that this same Cain slew Abel, who made the acceptable offering.

And this is why the actions of one Terry Jones, and also of the many other religious right Ameri-Christians doing their best to distance themselves from him because being associated with them hurts their economy in the American political mainstream that they desire and need to remain relevant and powerful in, should be taken notice of. Again, Ameri-Christianity is idolatry. Idolatry leads to violence. And the primary target of idolatrous violence is going to be any non-idolaters that are available. As Galatians 4:29 tells us, those who are of the flesh persecute those who are of the spirit, just as Cain slew righteous Abel and Ishmael persecuted Isaac.

And remember the prediction of Jesus Christ in John 16:2! Can it be that Ameri-Christians may believe that by persecuting us for being “un-American” that they are doing God service? Consider the Glenn Beck rally, where not a few evangelical Ameri-Christians joined this dominionist crusader in his Mormonism worship rally. If the economic problems continue, illegal immigration persists and the American way is threatened by enemies like Iran and North Korea abroad and liberals at home, will the refusal to join ecumenical/interfaith Americanism movements be seen as a betrayal of God? Judging from Ameri-Christian David Barton, who states that we should “judge Beck by his fruits” (meaning his effective support of the religious right agenda), you can guess the answer. So, Christian, what are you going to do when the Ameri-Christian comes for you bearing chains and staves to deliver you to the authorities? Will you stand? Or will you wilt and refuse to profess that Jesus Christ is Lord of all?

That, of course, presumes that you are indeed a Christian and not an Ameri-Christian. Which are you? Today you must make your stand. If you worship God, worship Him only. If you worship Baal, worship Baal only. How long will you halt between two opinions? If you are on the Lord’s side, then flee the syncretism! Come out of Babylon and the abomination of her idols immediately! Otherwise, when Babylon falls – and she will fall – you will with her.

If you are unsaved and are not under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, I urge you now

Follow The Three Step Salvation Plan

If you are saved, then here is a prayer. Father God in the Name of Jesus Christ, please lead and guide me so that I can discern that which is holy and that which is not so that I may follow the former, spurn the latter, and worship you only in spirit and in truth as you desire and require. Amen.

The Proper Christian Response To The Nalid Malik Husan Terror Attack: Concentrate On The Gospel!

Posted by Job on November 6, 2009

With regards to the crime and tragedy of Nalid Malik Husan’s attack at Ford Hood, Texas, where he shot at least 31 people, killing at least 12 people including women and civilians while screaming Allahu Akbar (and motivated by his desire not to be deployed against Iraq (or Afghanistan) as part of a force invading a fellow Muslim and Arab nation) allow me to propose a proper Christian response.

1. Prayer. We must pray for those wounded. We must pray for the families and loved ones of the wounded and deceased. We must pray for those who witnessed or responded to this horrific event, especially police officers, firefighters, ambulance personnel, nurses and doctors. We must pray for the counselors and therapists, both Christian and non-Christian, who will aid people deal with the physical, mental and emotional aftermath of this carnage. And yes, we must pray for the loved ones of Nalid Malik Husan and – presuming that he survives – Husan himself for his conversion to Christianity. Finally, we must pray that the body of Christ responds in a wise, Biblical manner to this event. We must pray that Christians discipline those who fail to respond in such a manner, and that we reject those who respond in a manner that does not honor Jesus Christ.

2. Evangelism. This is the primary way that the New Testament teaches Christians to deal with the non-Christian world, which is sharing the faith of Jesus Christ. This terror attack may cause an increase in fear, hatred and government action. Or it may cause people’s hearts to be desensitized and grow cold. With either reaction, the appropriate Biblical response is to go out and tell as many people as we can, or more accurately as many people as God leads us to, about the kingdom of heaven. Whether Jew, Gentile, Muslim, atheist, Hindu or a person involved in a false expression of Christianity, we must tell people that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who is God, that He is the only way to heaven, that His sacrifice on the cross is the once and for all payment of sins, and there is salvation in no other. This evangelism should not be event-driven, as some attempt to exploit this event or the fear that comes as a result of it. We should not indulge in the sort of “this is why Christianity is better than Islam” triumphalism, for that is a political and cultural worldview argument engaged in by people whose heart is with this world, not those who consider themselves pilgrims, for whom the world and the evils and hardships thereof are not worthy to be compared to the glory of eternity with Jesus Christ. Also, such a message is more useful to preaching to the false Christian cultural chauvinist choir than winning any converts, whether Muslim or non-Muslim. Instead, this tragedy should serve is a reminder that this is truly a wicked, fallen world that we live in, one ruled by the evil one, the prince of the power of the air who is Satan, and that evil and death and judgment are the fate of the world and the people not redeemed from it through Jesus Christ’s blood. Events like this one, wars, famines, floods, wildfires, earthquakes, oppressive political regimes etc. should all remind us of this fact, they should remind us of the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Sermon on the Mount, the Olivet discourse, the parables on the kingdom of heaven, his teachings on last things (New Jerusalem and the lake of fire), and serve as a burning fire shut up in our bones to go forth and obey the commandment of Jesus Christ given in the great commandments, to go and make disciples of all men, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. If we go forth and keep this great commission commandment, then God will use us to save whom He will, and we will be as drink offerings poured out before God, and by our evangelism God will be praised, honored and glorified.

3. Resist temptation. For many, the temptation to indulge in an improper and non-Christian response will be very strong. Many quarters will use this as an excuse to fan the flames of hate against Muslims. Others will use it as an attempt to attack Biblical Christianity with its stand that Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven as well. However, for many the primary temptation will be a political and cultural one, the opportunity to assert Christianity’s superiority over Islam because of western culture and politics, because it is a superior worldview. Well, the west will come under the judgment of Jesus Christ along with the rest of the sinful world, and on that day the western cultural and political systems will be judged as part of Babylon and fall with the rest, including but not limited to the Arabic cultural and political systems. Further, even if the western worldview is superior, it is still a WORLDview, making it worldly, not holy, not of God, and not something that will last forever in New Jerusalem, but instead is something that will be consumed with this world when it is destroyed with fire. The western worldview will have no part in the new heaven and the new earth that Christians inherit. Further, incidents like this should remind Christians that true followers of Jesus Christ do not give themselves over to passions of revenge, hate, or reprisal. Christians are not to get involved in those things directly, nor in the indirect channels that the political debate allows us to. Where in the past, reprisal to incidents such as this may have been lynch mobs, the current political context allows us to simply demand a toughening and extension of the Patriot Act, profiling, immigration crackdowns, gun control, invading etc. While those issues may have their merits, the fact is that they have nothing to do with Christianity. Read the New Testament, especially the teachings of Jesus Christ. The church was never promised peace, prosperity or an easy time, but rather only conflict, warfare and persecution at the hands of the world that has rejected Jesus Christ. Christians have often forgotten that message by walking in agreement with the world. So Christians should reject the foolish idea that by taking political actions we can somehow make this country and world safe and better for Christians and the spread of the gospel. Take, for instance, the war on terrorism: it has been a disaster for Christians all throughout the Muslim wolrd, especially in Iraq.

So instead of trying to take revenge (or the offensive) against Muslims through political means, we should remember that Jesus Christ alone is to whom judgment was given, that God alone is the one capable of executing vengeance, and that Jesus Christ alone will conquer and rule the nations with a rod of iron, and that Christians cannot and should not perform judgment, vengeance, or rule in Jesus Christ’s place. (Of course, this does not preclude civil governments from doing what is necessary to punish crimes and defend its citizens from criminals and aggression from other nations, see Romans 13 with regards to that issue, but instead those actions are at best the just and necessary ones and should not be viewed as Christian in any sense.) Our job is not to pretend to be Jesus Christ and to usurp His place, but instead to obey and serve Jesus Christ so that He will act through us as His Body.

So in summary, the Christian response to this event is prayer, evangelism, and resisting temptation. Please realize that this should be the Christian response to all events. Thank you.

Georgia Southern Baptist Pastor Jonathan Ayers Killed By PLAINCLOTHED Police In Botched Drug Operation AND THE POLICE LIE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED!

Georgia pastor shot and killed in apparent drug bust mistake

Residents of Lavonia, GA are reporting that Shoal Creek Baptist Church pastor, Jonathan Ayers, was the victim of a shooting fatality at a Shell gas station in the northeast Georgia town of Toccoa. At the hospital where Ayers was taken, his family was told he had been shot by a drug dealer, but it was later revealed that he was shot by Stephens County drug agents in plainclothes.

Stephens County Sheriff, Randy Shirley, told WYFF News (Greenville, SC) that a woman dropped off from Ayers car was the target of an undercover sting operation. The story that the officers have told is that when the pastor was leaving the gas station, he struck one of the officers with his car and was driving toward a second officer when shots were fired through the door, one of which struck Ayers. Wounded, he drove away, crashing about a half mile from the station. He died a short while later. No drugs were found in his car, though the woman reportedly in his vehicle was arrested on cocaine charges.

Due to the officer involved shooting, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has become involved, but is not releasing specific information at this time.

Family and friends are unbelieving that the 28 year old Georgia pastor was involved in anything illegal or immoral. His brother in law, Matt Carpenter said, “He is one of the Godliest men I’ve ever known.” Ayers and his wife, Abby, were expecting their first child.

Watch the gas station surveillance video at WNEG 32.com.

More information from the worst newspaper in the country, whose initial report seemed to side with the police version of events, including the fact that the police initially LIED TO THE FAMILY ABOUT WHO DID THE SHOOTING, INITIALLY CLAIMING THAT THE PASTOR WAS SHOT BY A DRUG DEALER:

Family and friends of a Lavonia minister gunned down Tuesday by an undercover police officer continue to look for answers about how he died.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said Jonathan Ayers, 29, was not the target of their sting operation and that authorities were looking for a woman they say Ayers dropped off minutes before the shooting. That woman, whose name has not been released, had been charged with cocaine possession and distribution, he said.

Ayers’ family maintains he was not involved in illegal drug activity.

“He is one of the Godliest men I’ve ever known,” his brother-in-law Matt Carpenter told AccessNorthGa.com. “We’re all shocked and absolutely do not believe he was involved in anything illicit or illegal there.”

Carpenter also told AccessNorthGa.com that the family was first informed Ayers died in a trafficaccident, and then that he had been shot. Hours later, they learned he died in an officer-involved shooting.

Shirley said Wednesday that Ayers dropped off the sting suspect in downtown Toccoa around 2:30 p.m. and that two agents from the joint task force — composed of officers from Stephens, Habersham and Rabun counties — followed the pastor and attempted to question him.

WNEG-TV has surveillance video showing Ayers casually entering a Shell convenience store in Toccoa around 2:30 p.m.

According to that video, a black SUV carrying undercover officers pulls into the parking lot after Ayers left the store.

The pastor tried to avoid them, Shirley said Wednesday, striking one of the agents after putting his car in reverse.

“They yelled, ‘Police. Stop,’” Shirley said.

Witnesses to the incident also said the officers identified themselves, said Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead.

Shirley said Wednesday that Ayers maneuvered his car towards another agent in a “threatening manner.” However, that is unclear from the video.

Shirley first said that one shot was fired by one of the three agents on the scene, striking the pastor in the upper torso. WNEG-TV reports that Shirley said the agent fired two shots into the car.

Ayers drove off before losing control of the vehicle a block away, striking a telephone pole, Shirley said.

Ayers was pastor of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Lavonia. On his blog, he wrote, “I have three loves in my life: Jesus Christ, my wife Abby, and the Church.”

The couple was expecting their first child.

Shirley would not reveal the identity of the woman arrested in the sting. The agent struck by the pastor’s vehicle was treated and released from a local hospital, Shirley said.

“Jonathan would have wanted to witness to the police officers involved in the shooting,” his family said in a statement.

The GBI is investigating the shooting. The task force agents involved have been placed on administrative leave with pay, Shirley said.

UPDATE: Not only did the Atlanta paper, which always tries their best to portray Southern Baptists in the worst possible light, fail to mention that the police LIED TO THE FAMILY about who killed this pastor, but IN TWO STORIES ABOUT THIS INCIDENT, IT FAILED TO MENTION THAT THE POLICE OFFICERS WERE PLAINCLOTHED, WHICH LIKE THE AMADOU DIALLO CASE EXPLAINS WHY THE PASTOR ATTEMPTED TO FLEE. From a SOUTH CAROLINA newspaper: “Floyd said there’s no way her younger brother would have run if he would have known the men who had guns were officers. The officers were undercover and weren’t in uniform, but investigators said they had badges around their necks and clearly identified themselves.” Please ignore the statements of these “investigators.” The same sort of people also claimed that Amadou Diallo should have been able to see the badges around the police officers’ necks (in the middle of the night in a dark alley) and that the police clearly identified themselves (yet Diallo was discovered to have been trying to give the officers his wallet and his beeper, indicating that he thought that he was facing armed robbers). Also, I wonder if these “investigators” have “investigated” WHY THE POLICE INITIALLY TOLD THE FAMILY THAT PASTOR AYERS WAS KILLED BY A DRUG DEALER!

More information that wasn’t reported in the Southern Baptist hating Atlanta Journal-Constitution and had to be gleaned from the South Carolina paper:

“Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, Jonathon Ayers was shot and killed by a Toccoa police officer. Ayers was at a walk-up ATM machine to get money to have tires put on his wife’s car. After getting his money, he saw men running at him. Thinking he was to be robbed, he ran for his car. He was shot through the door and the bullet went through his lung and liver. He eventually wrecked his car and was taken to Stephens County Hospital. The bleeding of his liver could not be stopped and Ayers died in surgery. Later, it was found that the police officer who shot him thought Ayers was involved in a drug deal. When Ayers ran, the officers open fired. GBI and NCIS are involved in this investigation.”

Four Year Old Girl Tells Police My Whole Family Is Dead

Posted by Job on August 29, 2009

Please pray for this little girl. Here is a quote: “an officer grabbed the child and whisked her away from the site where police say Richard Ringold, 44, shot five people, killing four, including the girl’s mother and sister.”
This is yet another in a string of horrific crimes that has been plaguing the metropolitan area that I live in for the past several months. The area that I call home and am raising my family is rapidly spiraling out of control. Amazingly, the local media is trying their best to talk about it as little as possible. They report the individual crimes, which are increasing in both number and gruesome nature, but do not dare try to put the facts together, because the facts lead to a society descending into chaos, rebellion, pride, selfishness and arrogance. They refuse to do this because doing so would lead to people asking questions of whether what is being taught in schools, shown on television and books, what is broadcast over the radio, the content on the Internet etc. is responsible for this. Studies have proven that the proliferation of pornography and occult content in particular greatly increase violence in a culture, yet not only are these studies ignored, but the people who produce them are vilified in a most demonic nature. Christians spent decades warning and predicting that these cultural trends would lead to increased violence, and when their predictions – indeed prophecies based on the truth of the Word of God – came true, the prophets and their message are ignored. There isn’t a single person in the media who will admit that the Christians who warned against these trends decades ago were proven right, and that is why no effort is being made by the media to correlate or analyze these horrific crimes and the complete disdain for the value of innocent human life.

People have rejected even the sense of law, order, self-respect and mutual benefit that God graciously gave to the world through general revelation, the sort which resulted in such things like the code of Hammurabi and pax Romana that were attempts to restrain base human wickedness. And yes, this is what once called itself a Christian nation, and though we came far short of what Jesus Christ actually taught (as evidenced by slavery, genocidal treatment of Native Americans, segregation, exploitation of the poor and immigrants etc.) now the primary problem is that people who call themselves Christians are not sharing the gospel in places that badly need it. I am not talking about this “engaging the culture” or “taking back the culture” campaigns, which are really just attempts to impose a form of godliness onto people. Instead, I am talking about going door to door, inviting people to church, and sharing the gospel with them. However, this is no surprise as fewer churches, even evangelical churches, regularly share the gospel of Jesus Christ from their pulpits. And while I am not a social gospel person, I am convinced that true preaching leads to true conduct. True preaching would convict and inspire born again Christians to do things like help the poor and homeless, become foster parents and child mentors, and other things that are regrettably often more associated with “bleeding heart liberals” than Bible – believing Christians who take the “faith without works is dead” exhortations of James 2 just as seriously as they do the Bible’s condemnation of homosexuality and abortion.

What are we going to do? Are we going to just watch these things spiral out of control, saying “this is the type of judgment that this wicked nation that elected Barack Obama deserves” (or if your politics are more liberal saying “this is the type of judgment that comes on a nation that invaded Iraq and killed all those innocent people for no reason”) and sit back waiting for the rapture? Or are we going to meet the challenges created by this disintegrating culture with prayer and evangelism? By visiting prisons, helping widows and orphans, volunteering at soup kitchens, opening up our wallets and hearts even in these bad economic times (or especially in these bad economic times) and giving up our two mites (Mark 12:41-44) or our little handful of meal and cruse of oil (1 Kings 17:11-14)?

I am a person who believes in spiritual warfare and deliverance, and it is time to put on the whole armor of God, Ephesians 6:10-20. Do not limit that passage and concept to casting out devils, prayer warfare and other topics, though those are certainly valid. Instead, in order to rise up to the challenge of these evil times so that not we but or Lord and Savior Jesus Christ may be glorified, we have to consciously, willingly, joyfully combat this evil with the whole counsel of God, “from Genesis to maps” as the old time fundamentalists used to say. Right preaching, right worship, right living, and right service are mandated by every believer in this wicked time. We have to live the gospel, we have to proclaim the gospel to all men. Now is not the time to worry about people laughing at us. How can we worry about people laughing at us, turning their backs on us, and rejecting us when we have an entire family – save one grievously wounded little girl – killed by a sinner with a shotgun? Don’t talk to me about gun control, about how the easy access to firearms caused this tragedy and how we need to limit their proliferation and access. Instead, the problem here is GOSPEL CONTROL, where Christians have limited the proliferation and access to the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST by neglecting to preach it to all men and neglecting to live it. Problems like these are due to our putting our light under a bushel so that no one can see it. They are due to our salt losing its savor, so it is now useless, fit for nothing other than being cast out and trod upon. One day, we are all going to stand before Jesus Christ in judgment. When Jesus Christ asks “where were you when all this evil was happening around you”, what will your response be, Christian?

The Murder of Late Term Abortionist George Tiller By Scott Roeder: A Warning To Christians

Posted by Job on May 31, 2009

News that notorious late term abortionist George Tiller received the very sort of violent death that for 30 years he meted out to innocent unborn children reminded me of debates that I used to have with a liberal that I once knew. This fellow was extremely well versed in suspect and intellectually dishonest arguments, but there was one in particular that he absolutely nailed me on:  though both conservatives and liberals have their extremists, in this country it is the conservative extremists that have always been more prone to committing acts of political and ideological violence. Now I took great offense to this statement, because even though the fellow who made the comment did not intend any religious overtones when he made the statement at the time I was a Bush Republican who equated “conservative” with “Christian.”  However, some informal research on my own (not that I am a professional researcher i.e. a journalist, historian, statistician, etc.) not only confirmed the point that the fellow was trying to make – that the clear majority of political violence that had occurred in this country was committed by conservatives – but also one that he was not trying to make and was not interested in, which is that many of the conservatives who resort to political, ideological and religious violence in this country do in fact profess to be Christians.

Of course, the media has the habit of claiming as professed Christians those who are not, including Eric Rudolph (who set off bombs at the Olympics and at abortion clinics and homosexual nightclubs in the 1990s) and Timothy McVeigh. Quite the contrary, Rudolph and McVeigh both renounced Christianity. However, the sad truth is that doing so with McVeigh and Rudolph were never necessary, as there were plenty of right wing terrorists who were professed Christians to choose from! And I have to tell you, news that conservative Christians constitute the single biggest block of Americans that support torture and the war in Iraq, it is no surprise.

Now this is not intended as a broadside against conservatism. I myself am apolitical and attack both sides. I attack conservatives more because conservatives maintain the demonstrably false position that their movement most faithfully represents and advances the doctrines of the Bible where liberals make no such claim. In other words, where Christian followers of the Republican Party and the conservative movement are often likely people who are sincere but deceived, there is no way that any supporter of Barack HUSSEIN Obama, who placed Kathleen Sebelius – the friend and supporter of Tiller, the nation’s most notorious abortion doctor because of his willingness to perform procedures so gruesome that even the vast majority of his peers that kill babies for a living refuse to do – to lead the vital Health and Human Services Department can claim that they are supporting someone who respects, let alone obeys, the Bible.

But the question remains: why is it that in America more politically motivated violence comes from those who claim to be motivated by a literal interpretation of the Bible than by, say, adherents to the liberation theology of Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s so-called “pastor” Jeremiah Wright? A similar question: why did so many Bible believing Christians back the Iraq War and continue to do so even after it was exposed as a complete fraud and total nonsense, and why do so many support torture? Why did so many Bible believing Christians support the increase of state power when that very state power has been used against Bible believing Christians for centuries, from the birth of the faith in the fascist Roman Empire to modern times in communist and fascist states?

I wonder if the answer to this was found in a discussion board on the Jerusalem Post that dealt with the issue of violent crime in America. The fellow stated that it was a longtime teaching of the rabbis that where full keeping of a Torah made a person better than he was before (i.e. better than a pagan or a nonobservant person) partial keeping of the Torah made a person more evil than he was before (i.e. more evil than a pagan or an atheist). Because of the spiritual nature of the law of God, only keeping its whole counsel made a person more like God, where keeping only part of it actually makes them more evil. Now normally I am suspicious of the teachings of the rabbis, but this is one instance where the saying actually correlates with what the Bible says. The Old Testament prophets, for one, castigated Israel for only keeping part of the law i.e. the sacrifices and observances while committing murder, idolatry, and injustice. Jesus Christ picked up this theme against the Sadducees, scribes and Pharisees, including this devastating comment: Matthew 23:15 “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.”

So where legitimate Christianity makes a person better, more like Jesus Christ, false Christianity makes a person worse, more evil, and further people reared in or converted into false Christianity become twice as worse as the first generation of false Christians! And according to the same statements of Jesus Christ, this means that America and its church is in a whole lot of trouble.

Now while American Christians certainly have a long sad history of not acting like Christians (and refusing to admit it, see “The American Patriot Study Bible” and its whitewashing of history) this is more about the contemporary scene. You see, we are over four decades into the strong delusion and great deception of the American evangelical church known as the religious right. Its earliest modern form was when (Roman Catholic) Pat Buchanan was able to garner religious support to help get Richard Nixon into office. Sometime later the movement became a full fledged one, motivated primarily by Roe v. Wade, to aid the election of JIMMY CARTER. (Few religious right leaders will acknowledge that Jimmy Carter was their first candidate.) After Carter turned on them, groups like the Moral Majority, the Christian Coalition, etc. were formed to back Ronald Reagan and the rest is history.

However, the religious right, while certainly right, was never religious. Not only was it an ecumenical movement, bringing Protestants together with Mary and angel and pope worshiping Roman Catholics (something that would have been impossible without Vatican II and Billy Graham), but actually an interfaith movement, involving Christians, Catholics (whom I take the position constitutes an entirely different religion), Jews and atheists. Further, before September 11th, George W. Bush was actually trying to bring Muslims into the coalition as well!  We all know from the Bible that coming together with unbelievers to advance Christianity is something that is forbidden, but instead for the past 30 years we have had Christians working hard to advance the religious agendas of Catholics and Jews!

Further still, the religious right never advanced actual Christianity, concerned around the death and resurrection of the Word of God Jesus Christ and living by the commandments of that same Christ. Instead, the religious right advanced a civil religion of morals, values and culture, what the Salvation Army founder William Booth would call Christianity without Christ and religion without the Holy Spirit. There are two reasons for this. The first is that if you promote actual Christianity, then the Catholics, Jews, and non-observant Christians will all leave in a heartbeat. The second is that actual Christianity is not something that will be advanced by governments and their laws and armies, but instead is a religion of the heart. So instead of using the true message of Jesus Christ in evangelism, we try to tell people how to behave, not so that they will avoid an eternity in the lake of fire and be reconciled to Jesus Christ, but so that they will be “good people” or “good Americans” according to our own estimations. And of course, this causes more than a few people with atrocious personal and spiritual lives (adulterers, drug addicts, liars, racists, tax cheats etc.) being called “good Americans” just because they have the “right” political views. I am tempted to call it a form of godliness that denies the power thereof, but now that I think of it, it is not even that. Instead, I am calling it an entirely different belief system that competes with Christianity that is precious little different from the deist philosophy of most of our founding fathers and the very similar naturalist – deist philosophy/religion of the ancient Greeks. Regarding the Greeks, consider Aristotle and Plato, who were monotheists, but their god was most certainly not the God of the Bible, and it is not surprising that Aristotle and Plato in their philosophy rejected the immorality, decadence and confusion of the polytheists and instead promoted a personal lifestyle and society governed by morality, civility and ethics.

So now, we are entering our second generation of Christians whose religious worldviews have been shaped more by the political pronouncements and activism of James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins (and let’s face it, the Vatican and Zionist Jews) than by the Bible or any sound teacher thereof. Three pieces of evidence of this sad state. Billy Graham is able to state publicly that he no longer believes that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, and he and his ministry suffer absolutely no negative consequences whatsoever. George W. Bush states that Christians and Muslims worship the same God and no one bats an eye, and later states that the Bible is not literally true or the final authority, and none of the evangelical leaders who backed this fellow for eight years – even to the point of supporting George W. Bush’s war in Iraq based on the idea that Bush was a devout man given to much study and prayer whose actions and policies were being guided by the Holy Spirit and thus reflected God’s Will – didn’t say a peep. And then there is the Carrie Prejean debacle (and before her the Sarah Palin disaster, which continues to this day).

Now regarding Prejean, I really never criticized her that much, only the people that were using her. Why? Because I honestly have a difficult time arriving at how she knew any better. Based on my own experience growing up firmly believing in A) premillennial dispensationalism, B) you can lose your salvation and C) one had to speak in tongues in order to be saved, I am fairly convinced that many Christians – especially young ones – read and interpret the Bible for themselves, but instead interpret it according to the framework given to them by their pastors, parents, teachers and other role models in the faith (which now includes televangelists, political Christians, recording artists and other Chri$tian celebritie$). So how else are we going to avoid raising a generation of Christian kids who firmly believe that evidence of the faith is not keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ, but having the right position on homosexuality and abortion? What else are we going to produce but a generation of Christian kids who believe that the Word of God became flesh and died on a cross and raised from the dead so that we could get  a pro-life majority on the Supreme Court, post the Ten Commandments in every public school classroom, and defeat homosexual marriage initiatives?

How many of the kids in this generation know that abortion and homosexuality were commonly practiced in the Roman Empire during the time of Jesus Christ and His apostles, yet Christ and His apostles rarely even mentioned that fact, let alone tried to change it? Read the New Testament: it only deals with the sins of the world when speaking of the world’s judgment in Revelation, the Olivet discourse, and other eschatological passages. Otherwise, the only sins that are dealt with are the sins of the people of God, the Jews in the time of Christ and the church after the coming of the Holy Spirit. The New Testament gives only two methods of dealing with the sins of the world: A) the church remaining separate from the world (which again, the religious right rejects by definition) and B) evangelizing the lost, which of course removes the sinner from the world and makes it incumbent upon him that he practice A).

Instead, the Christian conservative movement rejects the teachings and example of Jesus Christ and His apostles by trying to force the world into being partially righteous part of the time, or even being completely unrighteous all the time so long as you A) have the right beliefs and B) can cover it up. And in the process of trying to get the world to behave, Christian conservatives allow Christians – people in the church – to behave however they want and in many cases believe much of whatever they want (so long as their beliefs are “right” on abortion, homosexuality, taxes, military, etc.) And you can see the result. Abortion rates in evangelical churches are the same as they are in the overall culture, and divorce rates are even higher. (Again, so long as you “believe” something is wrong in a political sense, how you actually live your life is of little consequence or concern.)

Those are just a few indicators: there are others. So the question is: what is American Christianity going to be like 20-30 years from now, when – unless the hand of God intervenes – the current generation of evangelicals reared in what is at best a theologically shallow and doctrinally suspect Christianity and what is at worst an entirely new religion altogether are leading our churches, seminaries and Bible colleges? I believe that what Jesus Christ spoke of in Matthew 23:15 will be the result, and just as the religious leaders of that day made it very difficult for the early church (to the point of killing and driving off not a few of them) Christians who desire to learn and keep the true commandments of Jesus Christ will face extreme difficulties. A lot of Christians are talking about how Barack HUSSEIN Obama is going to open the door to mistreatment of Christians, but I honestly wonder if these Christians had better look at other professed Christians! Because please recall that the Bible says that by delivering Christians over to the authorities to be killed, people will consider themselves to be doing a service to God! So, it won’t be ACLU Human Rights Campaign NAMBLA abortion rights atheist secular humanist liberals (or Muslims for that matter) doing this to us to fulfill that prophecy. It will be adherents to a Christless, cross – less, Holy Spirit – less moral and civil religion (that very much lends itself to either universalism or at the very least pluralism) that will be closely tied to the exaltation of the state and culture, and perhaps ultimately be led the beast of Revelation, the anti-Christ himself!

So Christians, take a long hard look at Scott Roeder and consider if he is precisely the sort of zealot for an external form of religion based on partial belief and adherence that persecuted Jesus Christ (falsely accusing Him and sending Him to the cross) in the past and will do the same to true members of His church in the future. Wouldn’t it be ironic if the great persecutors of the American church in the future are not Muslims, Barack HUSSEIN Obama liberals, but “Judeo-Christians”? (By the way, “Judeo-Christianity” or “Judeo-Christian values” or “Judeo-Christian culture does not exist. Judaism and Christianity are two different religions, and furthermore modern Judaism and Christianity have no more to do with each other than does Christianity and Islam. So they are a contradiction. Further, Christianity has nothing to do with “values” or “culture” as those are temporal things of this world while Jesus Christ and His kingdom are spiritual and eternal. Now I must say that if you didn’t know this already and moreover are now rejecting it upon reading this, well then you are precisely one of those who is likely to either persecute the church in the future, consent to it, or do nothing to stop it that I am speaking of.)

Lila Rose Regularly Catching Planned Parenthood Illegally Covering For Child Molestors On Tape!

Posted by Job on May 28, 2009

Now of course, when civil rights groups do the same thing in order to catch companies that refuse to hire blacks and landlords who refuse to rent to blacks, liberals applaud. But in the case of Rose catching Planned Parenthood breaking the law, PRO – ABORTIONISTS LIKE BONNIE ERBE WANT HER ARRESTED! See article below.

By Dan Whitcomb

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – With a video camera hidden in her backpack, college student Lila Rose has become a rising star in the U.S. anti-abortion movement for her clandestine tactics in taking on Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of surgical abortions.

Rose stages her own sting operations at Planned Parenthood clinics, posing as a pregnant teenage girl to shine a light on what she says is the taxpayer-subsidized organization’s cover-up of sexual abuse.

She claims Planned Parenthood counselors routinely ignore their duty to report statutory rape when dealing with young girls impregnated by older men and often tell them to lie about their age or the identity of their sex partners rather than alert authorities.

Rose, a 20-year-old history major at University of California, Los Angeles, posts the secretly obtained tapes on the website of her nonprofit group, LiveAction.org, prompting authorities in three states to launch investigations of Planned Parenthood.

“Planned Parenthood is looking at these young girls as a plumbing problem: ‘We’ll get you that abortion and send you on your way,'” Rose told Reuters in an interview. “And that’s disrespecting two human lives. It’s destroying her pre-born child and sending her back to an abuser.”

A spokesman for Planned Parenthood declined to discuss the specific cases involving Rose but said the organization has strict policies and procedures regarding mandatory reporting and takes seriously laws protecting minors.

“In rare instances where health center employees violate those policies, immediate corrective action is taken,” he said.

Thirty-six years after the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in the landmark Roe v. Wade case that termination of pregnancy was legal, abortion is still a bitterly debated social and political issue in the United States.

A Gallup poll conducted earlier this month showed 51 percent of Americans identified themselves as “pro-life.”

INVESTIGATIONS

Because minors cannot legally consent to sex with an adult, health providers are required to alert authorities when an underage girl has been impregnated by an older man.

A grand jury in Marion County, Indiana, is investigating Planned Parenthood based on Rose’s videotapes and authorities in Tennessee and Arizona say they are reviewing the matter.

Officials in Tennessee and Orange County, California, have considered suspending public funds to the organization.

Rose’s activities have won her support from conservatives, anti-abortion activists and some child abuse experts and umbrage from abortion rights supporters — at least one urging donations to Planned Parenthood in her name.

Planned Parenthood clinics have posted Rose’s picture to alert workers and U.S. News and World Report blogger Bonnie Erbe demanded to know why she had not been arrested for trespassing or fraud.

Rose, who was raised in a large family in California and started LiveAction.Org at the age of 15, decided to conduct her own investigation after seeing Planned Parenthood sued by girls who said the clinics covered up their sexual abuse and reading a study that found that the practice was common.

Walking into two Los Angeles area Planned Parenthood clinics with a hidden video camera in March 2007, Rose, then 18, told the staff she was 15 and had been impregnated by her 23-year-old boyfriend.

She says the workers at the first center encouraged her to lie about her age so that they would not have to report statutory rape. At the second center, she says, counselors aggressively pushed her to have an abortion.

Since then, Rose has conducted stings at six other clinics, pretending to be a 13- or 14-year-old girl carrying the baby of a much older man. She says staff members at all six clinics told her they did not care about her age or would not report it and in three instances instructed her to lie.

“The laws are set up so that the children don’t have to ask for help. It’s the job of mandated reporters to be looking at this girl and figuring out her well being. Is she OK? Who is her sexual partner?” Rose said.

“And it’s set up that way because these girls are dealing with shame, fear, manipulation. They can’t say, ‘Hey, he’s 21, make the report please.'”

Why Has America Lost Its Soul?

Posted by Job on April 5, 2009

MSNBC.com asks Has America become numb to tragedy?. (And this article actually only focuses on gun crimes, so it leaves out things like a brother stabbing his two sisters to death.) Well, I say turn to Matthew 24, the prophecy of the last days of Jesus Christ, and pay attention to verse 12: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. That means that as the time of the return of Jesus Christ draws nearer, the sinful conditions of the world is going to become so pronounced that people will simply not care about even heinous crimes committed against large numbers of innocent people on a routine basis.

I suppose now would be a good time to run through the usual laundry list of social and cultural ills: economic problems, political and corporate corruption, capricious wars, disrespect of parents and authority, rampant fornication and homosexuality, violence in the media, and abortion. And yes, I am certain that dark powers, evil spirits, are afoot. But the root cause of this is a church in America that no longer stands for the Jesus Christ of the Bible.

This is not a problem of a lack of values. It is a lack of the gospel being preached, and the gospel being lived by so many of the professed Christians in this country. Refer to the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 5:13: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Now is not the time to point the finger at the other guy. No talking about the problems with this pastor over here or the doctrinal problems of this movement over there. No, this starts with the man in the mirror. Point the finger at yourself. How does YOUR life measure up against the standards of holy living set forth in the Sermon on the Mount, 1 Corinthians 15, the book of Ephesians, and elsewhere in scripture? I am not talking about religious standards or cultural/moral standards, but the actual requirements of scripture.

It measures up pretty well? OK, if you say so, fine. That is between you and God, and He will be the judge of that. But that’s you. What about everyone else? When was the last time you told someone else about Jesus Christ? I have to say that if I look at you as a number and judge you based on statistics, chances are it has been quite awhile, because studies show that over 95% of “evangelical Christians” never actually evangelize anybody. Based on Barna, Pew, and the other folks who put out these studies on religious behaviors and attitudes, 9 out of 10 Christians don’t even tell their friends, neighbors, and coworkers about Jesus Christ, let alone go door to door or stand out on street corners handing out tracts.

This is no surprise.  97% of Christians, including evangelicals, don’t even regularly serve in their local congregations. In virtually every church in America, no matter how large or small, the work is done by 3% to 10% of the congregation. The teaching, preaching, worship, administration, edification etc. is done by those few. The rest just show up as if they are going to a movie, baseball game, or super market or something. Now much attention is given to the crisis that the vast majority of children raised in evangelical Christian homes leave those churches never to return once they reach adulthood and leave these homes, but since 90% to 97% of the people in these homes never brings the gospel of Jesus Christ to sinners and never even serves their fellow believers in their local fellowship halls, were the homes that these children are leaving ever Christian to begin with? How can you lose something that you never had? How you leave something behind that you were never actually in to begin with?

Oh, you might take your kids to church every Sunday, buy them the merchandise from the Christian bookstores, send them to the camps and trips, get them the purity rings and have them sign the pledges, but if you aren’t spreading the gospel or serving in your local congregation, what evidence is there that you are really in the faith, and therefore have a Christian home for your child to leave? This isn’t about your culture and values, this is about your standing before a holy righteous God that demands obedience to the plan of salvation and the plan for worship and living that He left recorded in the Bible! When James wrote not once but three times (James 2:17James 2:20James 2:26) who do you think that he was talking to? Atheists? Mormons? Muslims? Hindus? Jehovah’s Witnesses? Jews? No … James wasn’t talking to THEM. He was talking to ME.

That’s right. I didn’t say YOU. I said ME. Why? Because as I said earlier, this isn’t about talking about the speck in the other guy’s eye. It is about the log in the eye of the guy looking at YOU in the MIRROR. If 90%, 95%, 97% or what have you depending on the survey do not share the gospel and do not serve in their local churches, why do we expect anything else but a nation filled with perversion, hate and violence? Who do you expect the blame to fall on? Sinners? Come on! How else do you expect them to act? They’re sinners and they are going to sin! The sinners are not the salt of the earth, the ones who have the light of Jesus Christ that is supposed to shine and overcome the darkness. That is the job of Christians! That is the job of ME!

The blame is on Christians. It is the Christians that are supposed to be out there turning the other cheek, helping the poor, taking care of the orphans, showing mercy to prostitutes and adulterous women (well if we care so much about abortion, who do you think is getting them?), befriending tax collectors, visiting the prisoners and all the things that Jesus Christ did and commanded. Those are the sick people that need a doctor, remember? It is Christians that are supposed to go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. It is Christians who are supposed to know better because of Jesus Christ and are supposed to be empowered to do better because of the Holy Spirit and supposed to want to do better because of a burning zeal to glorify God the Father. It is Christians that are supposed to be rising early, staying up late, and getting up in the middle of the night praying, fasting, interceding so that this cloud of evil, violence, and wickedness passes from this land.

Christians need to get reacquainted with the Apocalypse of John, better known as the Book of Revelation. That book is all about judgment, the wrath of God that falls upon the hard hearted, the stiff – necked, the proud, and the disobedient. And guess what? This judgment doesn’t start with the world, the sinners. No, this judgment starts in the church. So many of us like to read Revelation 1 about the glorious awesome Jesus Christ, skip on over to Revelation 4 and thereafter where it begins to talk about how the wicked rulers, nations, and people of the world are going to be judged, and in the process completely ignore Revelation 2 and 3, as if that isn’t talking about US.

It is US, people in the church, that Jesus Christ tells “Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” It is US that Jesus Christ warns “Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.” It is US that Jesus Christ warns “Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.” It is US that Jesus Christ warns “Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.” It is US that Jesus Christ warns “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

All those warnings of judgment. All of those calls to repent. Not a single one was directed towards the world. ALL were directed towards the church. You know what else is traditionally regarded as being aimed at the world that is actually towards the church? The famous Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” That is taken to be a classic evangelism verse. Why? Because it is out of context. Jesus Christ wasn’t addressing sinners ignorant of His gospel at any point in Revelation 2 and 3. That entire section is directed towards those who know the gospel and are in the church. The reference to Jesus Christ standing at the door and knocking wanting to enter someone’s heart is not a reference to His wanting to save a sinner. No, it is His commanding a member of the church to meet His requirements of obedience. Jesus Christ references the heart, which indicates love. Jesus Christ wants the Christian church to love Him. And how does one love Jesus Christ? The answer: John 14:15. “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

So in the actual meaning, the true context of Revelation 3:20, Jesus Christ IS NOT knocking at the door of the heart of some lost sinner asking to be let in so that He can save Him. No, Jesus Christ is standing at the door of the 90+% of Christians who never share the gospel, the 90+% of Christians who never serve in their local churches, the percentage of Christians who do not heed His instructions in the gospels and Revelation, who do not heed the instructions of Paul, Peter, James, John, the unknown writer of Hebrews etc. in the epistles by obeying His Word. Jesus Christ is talking to the foolish Christians who do not build their houses on the rock because they hear Jesus Christ’s words and do not obey them, Matthew 7:23-27! It is the Christians that obey the commandments of Jesus Christ that Jesus Christ will enter in and have dinner with. It is those Christians who will endure to the end and attend the marriage supper of the Lamb, counted among those considered the bride of Jesus Christ and the body of Jesus Christ, adopted into God’s sonship through Jesus Christ. And it is only obedient Christians that are capable of effectively standing against the wickedness that has gripped America and the world at this present evil hour.

So, professing Christian, I ask of you right now, take a look at yourself in the mirror. Are you an obedient Christian? Has your salt lost its savor? Is your light hid under a bushel? Is Jesus Christ standing at your door knocking? You are known by the fruit that you bear (Matthew 7:16Matthew 7:20Matthew 12:33Luke 6:44). Christian, now it is judgment time, time for you to test and try yourself as the Bible commands you (2 Corinthians 13:5). Here’s the test: look at yourself in the mirror, and ask yourself: “Where is my fruit, and what kind of fruit is it?”

Satan Is Real And After Your Children: Murder of 5 children shocks Washington trailer park

Posted by Job on April 5, 2009

Deputies went to check on family after father shot himself near casino

This is yet another in the recent epidemic of horrible crimes against children that has been happening in the past few weeks. This is why we need to continue to pray for children, intercede for them, and tell them about the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! See the page linked below for several videos related to child evangelism.

A Hard Life Lesson On Why Being Thankful To God In All Circumstances Is Required

Posted by Job on November 14, 2008

Please read link below for this heart rending story. It is yet another example of why children should be targeted for evangelism.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 – give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Jennifer Hudson Revisited

Posted by Job on November 1, 2008

Some time ago, when the tilt on this website was somewhat different, I addressed actress and singer Jennifer Hudson’s publicly distancing herself from the gospel and the Biblical truth that it is based on in Oscar Winner And American Idol Contestant Jennifer Hudson: Christian?. Ms. Hudson was raised Baptist, but publicly professing and adhering to the doctrines of the church of her youth had become inconvenient to her career. So she took the business savvy tactic of refusing to publicly denounce her Christian beliefs or upbringing so as not to offend her Christian fans while declaring herself unsure or agnostic about certain Christian doctrines so as not to offend her other fans.

It would be very easy to blame this on Ms. Hudson’s choosing a secular career over what would have almost certainly been a quite comfortable – indeed lucrative – career in gospel music. However, the gospel music scene is as bad as the secular music scene if not worse, and moreover has been for quite awhile (see this and this). So it comes down to her choosing money and fame over the Bible, if not privately and personally definitely in her public profession as the first item that I posted on Ms. Hudson demonstrates.

Now of course, Jennifer Hudson would gladly trade her fame and wealth and live a lifestyle of obscure poverty if it meant having her brother, mother and nephew back. The issue, then is that at the time that I first wrote regarding her, according to her own words and actions she would not at that time have made the same sacrifices for the gospel’s sake. Whether she would have since then or will know is a matter between her own heart and God. But what we Christians should take and learn from this tragedy is not by looking at the actions of Hudson then or now, but at our own actions and hearts right now and in the future. It is times like these that remind us how valuable the gospel, our eternal fate, indeed spiritual things truly are. Are we willing to truly sacrifice for the sake of the gospel? If so, how are we proving it? In what way are we doing so?

It is not a matter of going out and seeking affliction for ourselves, which often strikes me as self – aggrandizement more than service to a holy God out of a sincere heart. So the people who go obstruct abortion clinics and make their presence known at gay pride marches … I wonder if they are such bold witnesses among their own friends, family members and workplaces? In any event, those who wear their piety on their sleeve tend to do so because they lack Jesus Christ in their hearts, and Jesus Christ said so about the Pharisees that liked to make a public show of their prayers, fasting and giving. Instead, it is the Biblical truth that if you seek to serve God out of a sincere heart, if you truly share and live the gospel, persecution will inevitably come find you. Rather than viewing it as a demonic attack per se, it is helpful to view such trials the way the book of Hebrews, the book of James, and the book of Romans depicts them: what God allows to happen in our lives as part of our being tried, tested, proven, shaped, molded, purified, strengthened, and ultimately conformed into the image of God’s Son. As Jesus Christ suffered many things, how much more should we suffer for Jesus Christ’s sake?

Yet we see that suffering in our human existence is inevitable because of the sin that entered creation. It is not trivialized by saying “bad things are going to happen” or “life isn’t fair” but rather truthfully stating that horrific heartbreaking tragedies and catastrophies occur so often that most people go through life denying the great possibility that something will personally affect them and trying to keep themselves from truly dealing with it when it does. The way that we deal with this reality, it seems, is to deny its possibility until it happens and then to try our best to just get past it when it does. But yet and still, it will happen. Suffering, pain, hurt, trials, etc. will happen.

But if one professes Christianity and undergoes suffering for any cause other than that of Christ, then what profit, advantage or use is there in the suffering? This is not to say that all misfortune that happens to Christians are for Christ’s sake, obviously. I am certainly not saying that this tragedy happened to Ms. Hudson because of Jesus Christ. Rather, my point is that what is the use of trying to avoid being persecuted for the gospel’s sake only to have tragedies like this happen to you anyway?

So perhaps a better and more direct example would be the person that refuses to share the gospel or even restrict himself to upright conversation and behavior at his job because he wants to retain it, be accepted, and gain promotions and raises only to find himself laid off anyway. And I have to tell you: with the way that the economy is going right now, there is a good chance of that happening. There is also increasingly the possibility that even holding a job in the near future will require your having to reject Bible doctrines. See Leading Corporate Diversity Firms Says Companies HAVE To Start Firing Christians!

So before judging Jennifer Hudson’s choices harshly – as I did in my first treatment of her – please know that in the near future you might be confronted with the same set of choices to keep your career, home, family etc. as did she. Will you make the same choices as she did? Let me tell you … if you are already not being a bold witness for Jesus Christ with your public confession, evangelism and lifestyle when circumstances do not require you to be, then how can you be sure that you will stand for Jesus Christ when your job, family, life, or something else that is dear to you is on the line?

This tragedy that happened to a fellow professing Christian like Jennifer Hudson should cause us to look not at her but at ourselves and how we are living out our own private and public lives as Christians. If her confession was flawed in the past, would mine have been better had I been in her shoes? Is mine better in the shoes that I am in? I have to say regarding Ms. Hudson that my prayers are with her and her family, and that her experiences as a Christian have caused me to look in the mirror. Will it do the same for you?

Make no mistake, Ms. Hudson’s distancing herself from some of the more difficult and controversial Biblical truths in the past was wrong, and it was appropriate to point that out. The question now is whether I as a Christian or you as a Christian would do any better. If the answer is no, and I dare say that for most professed Christians and especially for those of us in the wealthy and comfortable west the answer would in fact be no, then we simply need to get closer and stronger in our walk with God, to become more like Jesus Christ and exhibit the teachings of the Bible stronger and more often in our daily lives, so that the answer will become yes.

Taliban Muslims Murder Christian Aid Worker Gayle Williams On Proselytization Charges!

Posted by Job on October 21, 2008

Kabul, Afghanistan —- Taliban assailants on a motorbike gunned down a Christian aid worker in Kabul on Monday, saying she was killed for spreading her religion —- a rare targeted killing of a Westerner in the capital.

Gayle Williams, a 34-year-old dual British-South African national who helped handicapped Afghans, was shot as she was walking to work, said Interior Ministry spokesman Zemeri Bashary.

A spokesman said the Taliban ordered her killed because she was accused of proselytizing.

“This woman came to Afghanistan to teach Christianity to the people of Afghanistan,” Zabiullah Mujahid said. “Our [leaders] issued a decree to kill this woman.”

Britain’s secretary of state for international development, Douglas Alexander, called the killing a “callous and cowardly act” and said Williams was in Afghanistan to help ease poverty.

“To present her killing as a religious act is as despicable as it is absurd —- it was cold-blooded murder,” Alexander said in a statement.

A spokeswoman for the aid group, SERVE —- Serving Emergency Relief and Vocational Enterprises —- said it is a Christian organization but denied it was proselytizing.

“It’s not the case that they preach, not at all,” said the spokeswoman, Rina van der Ende. “They are here to do [aid] work.”

Afghanistan is a conservative Islamic nation. Proselytizing is prohibited by law.

(Please note the last sentence. Even if this woman was guilty of breaking Afghani law, that does not change the fact that this woman was murdered without a trial in an act of terror. Typical media bias. In any event, Christians, persecution is increasing. However, we are going to have to continue to stand for the faith. This woman gave her life for the gospel and for good works that Jesus Christ, the book of James, and the book of Hebrews specifically tells us to commit. Who have you shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with today?)
