Jesus Christ DID Denounce Homosexuality!

Posted by Job on January 3, 2011

From brother W.B. Moore.

Christ DID speak out against homosexuality

What I have to say is to people who claim to be Christians.

Jesus spoke out against sexual immorality.
Matthew 15:18-20

18 But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man unclean. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what make a man unclean; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him unclean.

Mark 7:20-23

20 He went on: “What comes out of a man is what makes him unclean. 21 For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and make a man unclean.

We have to realize that sexual immorality is a category of sin that includes all sexual sin.

1 Corinthians 5:1

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father’s wife.

Paul had to deal with one specific instance of sexual immorality: a man having sex with the wife of his father. This is identified as a sin in the Old Testament, specifically Leviticus 18:8, Leviticus 20:11, Deuteronomy 22:30, and Deuteronomy 27:20. Paul did not further address specific examples of sexual immorality in this passage. However, it is clear that it was a category of sin that dealt with sex that God had prohibited.

Christ said the entire category of sin known as sexual immorality was evil.

Now, sexual immorality would refer to what God had defined as wrong already by the time of when Christ said this; this would come from the Old Testament. As Christians today, we use both the Old and New Testaments to see Who God is, what God has done, how God feels about issues in life, and what He expects of and for us.

The word translated as sexual immorality is Porneia. This word means
1. illicit sexual intercourse

A. adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc.
B. sexual intercourse with close relatives; Lev. 18
C. sexual intercourse with a divorced man or woman; Mk. 10:11

Romans 1 says even the desire of a man for a man or a woman for a woman is sin. The act of sex between two people of the same gender is also sin.

The term translated in Romans 1 as ‘lust’ is epiqumia in Greek. It means desire, craving, longing, desire for what is forbidden, lust.

It is even the mere desire for same gender sex that is wrong in God’s eyes.

Paul said we must turn away from wickedness if we confess Christ as Lord:

2 Timothy 2:19

Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.

Paul also said God will punish men for sin.

1 Thes 4:3-8

3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; 6 and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. 7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. 8 Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

It does not matter how you feel about it. It does not matter how you justify it. God said if you do not change and turn to God, then you are not saved. If you claim you have repented and turned to God, then you need to live like it.

Flee Fornication!

Posted by Job on October 30, 2009

Pastor Foster’s outstanding efforts for justice on behalf of victims of church sexual abuse reminds me of 1 Corinthians 6:18. “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.” This is relevant because sexual sin is rarely committed at the drop of a hat, almost at random. Going out and committing adultery, fornication, or homosexuality is not like tripping and falling down the stairs. It isn’t something that you do suddenly when you “snap”, “crack under the pressure”, or somehow lose control of your faculties, your ability to think and reason clearly or restrain yourself. It is rarely a sin that “just happens on the spur of the moment”, the result of a situation that rapidly spiral out of control.

Now perhaps there are sins that probably can happen that way, maybe including even murder, but they DO NOT include sexual sins. Instead, the idea that “it just happened” or “it was beyond my control” is a convenient reassuring lie that we often find refuge in after the fact. Truthfully, the only time that this explanation is even plausible is when abuse of alcohol or drugs are involved, and in those cases, rather than being excuses for sinful sexual behavior, drug and alcohol abuse are sins themselves. Instead, sexual sins are almost always sins committed after a time or incident of temptation, and the comission of said sin is thus the result of the failure of the Christian to remove himself from the temptation.

Let us be honest here. We aren’t simply walking down the street minding our own business when some unclean spirit seizes us and unwillingly forces us to do dishonor our bodies and abuse the bodies of others with this type of sinful behavior. And we also aren’t these naive souls that find ourselves manipulated and overcome by the wiles of a tempter or seductress. Plainly speaking, if it isn’t rape, then it is sexual sin. If it isn’t violent coercion, then it is sexual sin.

So why does it happen so often, even amongst the clergy? The reason is that we are like David as opposed to being like Joseph. Now consider Joseph. When Potiphar’s wife made her advance and grabbed hold of him, he didn’t trust his ability to resist the temptation or negotiate the situation. No, Joseph got out of there, leaving his clothes behind! And Joseph, being a very wise person, almost certainly knew that his running naked away from Potiphar’s wife and leaving her holding his clothes would leave him with absolutely no defense whatsoever. He knew that running off in that manner would result in any charge made against him being believed, and that any legal standing or credibility that he might have had – and being a Hebrew slave in Egypt he really had none to begin with – would have been forfeited. So in leaving his clothes behind, he was really abandoning all that he had. He was giving up every right, every privilege, every consideration that the world had to offer him. And why did he do so? Because obedience to God’s law was worth all the rights, privileges and recourses that the world had to offer. Joseph was going to obey YHWH even if it cost him everything, including his very life! Make no mistake, either way Joseph was going to be in a hard position. He either had to put himself in the position where he had to resist the seducing charms of Potiphar’s wife, or put himself in a position where he would have no defense against a false charge of attempted sexual assault by that same wife. As the Bible narrative tells us, Joseph chose the latter, and willingly bore the consequences! As was evident from the time that Cain slew Abel and was made manifest in the most supreme and extreme example by the rejection and death of the SINLESS Jesus Christ on the cross, true righteousness in this wicked world always comes at a price, and it was a price that Joseph was willing to pay.

But instead of being like Joseph, we are like David. David watched Bathsheba bathe. He could have easily avoided doing so. Some blame this on David’s not going out to battle, but one doesn’t even have to go that far. David could have simply closed or averted his eyes and gotten away from there as fast as he could; gone back inside his house. Instead, he allowed viewing the body of another man’s wife to please him, and from there it was simply James 1:14-15, which reads “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” So where Joseph fled fornication, David gave a place to the devil, and with the latter you saw the result. David “took Bathsheba and laid with her”, and it is still my opinion that the Bible does not state that David’s relations with Bathsheba were consensual on her part, but instead used language similar to Absalom’s rape of Tamar and Shechem’s rape of Dinah. In that light the contrast between Joseph and David becomes even more stark: where the former fled consensual sin with Potiphar’s wife,  the latter appears to have forced himself on Uriah’s wife.

So why are we so often more likely to choose the path of David over the path of Joseph? It appears to be a misunderstanding or misapplication of another verse from James, that being 4:7’s “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Actually, that is 4:7b. 4:7a, which reads “Submit yourselves therefore to God” is often ignored and omitted, and 4:7b is often quoted in isolation, usually as sort of a “Christian cliche'”, which of course increases its potential to be misunderstood and misapplied.

We often interpret “resisting Satan” to placing ourselves in compromising and sinful situations. We think of ourselves as spiritual athletes or superheroes. We tell ourselves that there is some great merit in putting temptation before our face and resisting it, that it is some mark of spiritual maturity and upright character. We think that because we are Christians indwelt by the Holy Spirit, that it means that we can trust ourselves and that we can be trusted. And the feelings of attraction or tension that we might have? We tell ourselves that they don’t exist because we are born again, and born again Christians don’t have those problems! Or we tell ourselves that because we are so strong and mature and are experiencing such victory that we can handle them without acting on them. We can just sweep them under our emotional, mental and physical rugs, we tell us, and we further deceive ourselves by telling ourselves that God will make it stay there. After all, we delude ourselves because of bad theology and teachings: it’s His job! It is one of His promises! To be able to stare temptation right in the face hour after hour, day after day, week after week and year after year without falling is one of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit!

And Christians who reject this form of (let us call it what it is) NEEDLESS SELF-TORTURE, SELF-ABUSE AND SELF-ENDANGERMENT? We call them “legalists.” We call them “fundamentalists.” We even question their own salvation and Bible knowledge. We say “if they were REALLY saved, if they REALLY UNDERSTOOD GRACE, if they REALLY UNDERSTOOD VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN LIVING, if they REALLY HAD THE SELF-CONTROL THAT CHRISTIANS ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE, then they wouldn’t need all these legalistic rules. They’d just trust themselves and each other, and above all trust God. Right?

Well, we see the result of this thinking. Having cast aside the rules designed to keep Christians pure as “old-fashioned”, “legalistic”,  “impediments to church growth” and “sexist”, we see that teen pregnancy, illegitimacy, out-of-wedlock pregnancy, divorce and pornography are huge problems in our churches, in some cases surpassing that of the general population, and that speaks nothing of the sex scandals among the clergy and other church leaders. And despite all this, we deceive ourselves as to the reasons why. Instead of separating from worldly practices and ideas, we tell ourselves that we can partake of those same practices, implement those same ideas and still not sin because we are Christians.

This is particularly absurd when the Bible itself explicitly calls it a lie. In a general sense, 1 John 1:8 says that any Christian who denies his capacity for sin deceives himself and rejects God’s truth. And in a specific sense, Paul in 1 Corinthians 7 promotes marriage as a way for Christians to avoid sexual sins. Again, 1 Corinthians 7 IS NOT DIRECTED AT UNBELIEVERS. Paul WAS NOT telling unbelievers to get married to avoid sexual sin! Paul was telling baptized, born again, Holy Spirit filled BELIEVERS to get married to avoid sexual sin! And of course, if avoiding fornication is an issue for single Christians, avoiding adultery is an issue for married ones. So if that was an issue for Christians in Paul’s time, what makes us think that it isn’t now? Is it because society has advanced? If so, in what way? Because we are so much more civilized thanks to our humanistic, rationalistic mindset that we are capable of more self-control than we could in Paul’s repressed, misogynistic social location? Such ideas are nonsense, a strong delusion.

So then, the mark of true Christian maturity is not to put temptation in your face so you can brag about how holy and righteous you are for not giving into it. Instead, the mark of true Christian maturity is to do whatever you can to avoid the temptation, and being willing to suffer the consequences. Again, consider Joseph. He was willing to go to prison – and he may well have been executed – over running away naked. But how many contemporary Christians are just as willing to turn down a situation at school, at work, or even at church that requires them to work long hours alone with an attractive member of the opposite sex? Or what about shunning the raunchy and prurient movies, TV shows and Internet websites, including those that may be harmless themselves but have racy advertiser content?

Again, that may sound anti-modern, antedeluvian, medieval, old-fashioned, legalistic, fundamentalist or whatever you want to call it. I call it not giving a place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27) and submitting yourself to God, of being more like Joseph and less like David. After all, what merit is there to imperiling yourself with temptation for its own sake? Does it make you a better witness for the gospel? Even if that were the case, when you contrast the high number of evangelical Christians who commit sexual sin (at least 60% and very likely higher) and the low number of Christians who actually evangelize (less than 10%) and being a better evangelist clearly isn’t the reason. Instead, being more like the world is the reason.

Also, let us have some consistency. Those of you who believe that you are such powerful, faithful bold victorious Christians that you can resist all this temptation, why limit it to that area? Expand your horizons. Go handle poisonous spiders and scorpions. Grab a rattlesnake by the tail. Make yourself a cocktail of household cleaners and drink it. Stand out in the middle of a freeway. Or take a boat out into deep water, the ocean or the middle of a swirling river, and step out and walk on water. You have faith, don’t you? You are a mature, strong Holy Spirit-filled Christian, aren’t you? Isn’t avoiding that behavior legalism? Fundamentalism? Old-fashioned? Is refusing to pick up a rattlesnake misunderstanding grace?

Of course, you won’t do that. Why? Because you value your life and health. And that is precisely the issue. You value your own safety and security over avoiding sin. You are much more willing to risk the chance that you might sin than you are to risk the chance that you might die. Therefore, you are willing to take a chance that you might sin and tell you that God will keep you from sinning, but you are unwilling to take the same chance with your life under the idea that God will save you from poison, drowning, or getting crushed by a car. But you might say “there’s no reason for doing those things.” Well, there was no reason for David to watch Bathsheba bathe, was it? The truth is that there is also no reason, no reason that will advance the kingdom of God, for Christians to sit around and unnecessarily tempt themselves with sin, and that is not just sexual sin but a great many other sins. But we actually have a Christian mainstream, an evangelical mainstream, that regards trying to separate from wickedness as sinful, hypocritical and Pharisaical, and the results are plainly exhibited before all. Many of the things that we tempt ourselves with we do so for no reason other than our own entertainment or to be like everyone else, and other times we do so because we are unwilling to make a real sacrifice to our lifestyles, to our comfort, to our aspirations. We don’t want to go to prison like Joseph. We don’t even want to miss out on a promotion, become a laughingstock at school, or be considered “extremist” by other churches. As a result of this carnality, this selfishness, we are much more willing to pollute our minds and bodies and offend God with our sin than we would ever be willing to put ourselves in harm’s way, and yes that does include put ourselves in harm’s way to actually spread the gospel. And the result is the Christian landscape in America that we see today.

Paul Washer does an excellent job of addressing this precise topic in the video below, which I really hope that you will view. In it he gives added emphasis to pastors who unnecessarily expose themselves to sexual sin, and that goes back to some of the topics that Pastor Foster regularly deals with on his site.

Jeremiah Wright’s Adultery With A White Woman Is An Example Of 1 Timothy 6 False Doctrine Leads To Sexual Immorality!

Posted by Job on September 11, 2008

My position is that 1 Timothy 6:1-10 can be interpreted as stating that false doctrines lead to sexual immorality in those that preach the doctrines and those that hear them. In my opinion, false doctrines are one of the main reasons why there are all these sex scandals in the church, and evidence of correlation between devil’s doctrines and sexual immorality is present in the New Testament, in the church at Corinth in particular

So here is the text of 1 Timothy 6:1-10:

All who are under the yoke as slaves are to regard their own masters as worthy of all honor so that the name of God and our doctrine will not be spoken against. Those who have believers as their masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but must serve them all the more, because those who partake of the benefit are believers and beloved Teach and preach these principles. If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Now I first made the correlation between sexual immorality and the prosperity doctrine after reading this passage after radio minister/teacher Bob George referenced 1 Timothy 6 in response to a question whether it was acceptable to listen to Kenneth Copeland, Fred Price, and other prosperity doctrine teachers (of course George’s answer was an emphatic no) on his nationwide call in radio show. How does this relate to Jeremiah Wright? Well first of all, Wright’s liberation theology teachings are really no different from the prosperity doctrine. Both center around getting Christians to de – emphasize the promise of spiritual blessings and eternal life in favor of an emphasis of earthly things, whether wealth and health in the prosperity doctrine or seeking political changes that will result in favorable economic conditions for minorities and workers via liberation theology. Just as the extreme version of the prosperity doctrine, the Word of Faith, teaches that God has abdicated His throne with respect to the rule of creation to man, first to Adam and then to the church, the true version of liberation theology denies the actual existence of heaven and the lake of fire, claiming that they are metaphors for political, economic, and social conditions on earth. It is no small coincidence then that liberation theology thought that is so prominent among the religious left that is so influential in the Democratic Party (please remember that Bill Clinton hosted Jeremiah Wright at the White House!) in both the white left as represented by mainline Protestant denominations and liberal Roman Catholics and the black left as represented by the civil rights movement (please recall that Martin Luther King, Jr. rejectd the virgin birth, deity, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and hence cannot be considered as having been a Christian in any sense) has as its correlation the prosperity/Word of Faith doctrines in the form of figures like John Hagee, Rod Parsley, and Pat Robertson that are so influential in the Republican Party (and please recall Mike Huckabee’s attempts to bring Kenneth Copeland into the fold as well). If you want more evidence that the two parties merely represent faces on the same wicked coin that may look different but in truth are part of the same entity and joined in the middle, there you go!

Continuing, when reading that passage more, I formed the opinion that all false doctrines, not just the prosperity doctrine, lead to immorality in general with sexual immorality being just one. As a matter of fact, associating that godliness is gain and predatory destructive unnatural sexual behavior are just symptoms of the larger spiritual, mental, and character issues that go with one having a reprobate mind.

And this brings us back to this Jeremiah Wright fellow. The fellow was already “married” to another man’s wife that he exploited and abused his position of marriage counselor to get a woman in a troubled marriage to leave her husband so that he could marry her shortly after: Jeremiah Wright’s Adulterous Marriage. This uses as source material in part BARACK’S REV. ‘STOLE A WIFE’ – EX-HUBBY: HE COUNSELED US, THEN WED HER. (Did his congregation care? Of course not.) Well now this: Jeremiah Wright committed adultery with the wife of a pastor, resulting in the dissolution of the marriage. REPORT: REV. JEREMIAH WRIGHT HAS AFFAIR WITH ANOTHER MAN’S WIFE. (It would appear that this pastor was another teacher of false doctrine, and also one who uses the same trick of claiming to have degrees that he does not have. By the way, Jamal – Harrison Bryant also claimed the same phony degree from the same place, which only offers certificates from some summer training program and not doctorates, and Bryant, who is leading the charge to bring the prosperity doctrine into the same African Methodist Episcopal denomination that James Cone was a member of when he created black liberation theology – small world isn’t it – is also documented and proven to be sexually immoral. ) And guess what: Wright used the time dishonored “I will leave my wife for you” trick on his prey.

Now make no mistake, Fox News and the New York Post have an agenda. These operations are owned by the world’s biggest pornographer Rupert Murdoch whose pastor is Rick Warren (who asserts that Murdoch is a born again Christian!), who tells his church members to use sexual titillation in order to win converts (see here and here) and is not above using teen girls performing sexually suggestive dances to please his audience like Herod’s daughter did before demanding the head of John the Baptist for her mother (read Matthew 14) during “praise and worship service.” Of course, Warren’s false New Age “God wants to make you feel all good and happy” doctrines are not at all distinct from Joel Osteen’s brand of prosperity teaching. Back to Fox News and the New York Post, their agenda is to influence the upcoming presidential election.

Me, I do not share that agenda. I could care less who you vote for. As a matter of fact, my position is that Christians should vote for NEITHER. The video in this link from Pastor Slattery illustrates why I have this position. Instead, my agenda is to tell Christians to flee these false doctrines, for they do in fact destroy people’s lives. As far as this Obama person goes in general, it really does appear that he has been recruiting as many degenerate pastors as McCain has, if not more. Here is one good site on that issue. The strait gate is not through the Democratic or Republican Party (or Green or Socialist or Communist or Constitution or Libertarian or Labour or Tory or Christian Democrats or Kadima or Likud) but through belief in and obedience to the Jesus Christ of the Bible through right belief (orthodoxy) and right behavior (orthopraxy). The sad case of Jeremiah Wright’s adultery is just one evidence among many of what happens when pastors and their followers that reject right belief in their teaching … right behavior inevitably exits as well.

God’s Best is Your Purity 1 Corinthians 7:1-2

Posted by Job on March 28, 2008

Listen Watch

BIBLE MEDITATION: “. . . it is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.” 1 Corinthians 7:1-2

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: Premarital sex always endangers future marital happiness. It follows as night follows day. Surveys have shown that those who were sexually pure when they went to the marriage altar have the greatest opportunity to have a happy marriage. You can understand why. Suppose a man says to a woman “I love you so much; I just can’t wait.” He talks her into giving in to his desires. Now think about a man who loves and respects a woman by keeping her pure. Do you see the trust that that builds? God has a wonderful plan for you. Sex is so bad outside marriage because it’s so good inside marriage.

ACTION POINT: Are you single? Take courage from knowing God’s best is your purity. Though it may be hard to wait, God will honor your obedience.  share devotional with a friend    visit lwf.org

Sex Sells Especially In The Church: Tampa’s The Relevant Church Teaching People To Defile The Bedroom

Posted by Job on February 15, 2008

MyFox Tampa Bay | Pastor issues sex challenge

TAMPA A pastor has a new challenge for his parishioners. It involves sex – a subject that may be taboo in many congregations. The Relevant Church in Tampa’s Ybor City has issued a 30-day sex challenge. “It’s going to be tempting and awkward at the same time for sure,” said parishioner Brent Cayson.

Single men and women can’t have sex for 30 days, and married couples are urged to have it every day. (First of all, if single people in your church are having sex, they need to be disciplined for the sin of fornication and put out if they refuse to repent and change. See 1 Corinthians 5:1-6. Second, preachers are not supposed to dictate the sex practices of married men and women in his congregation. That is what cults such as the one run by R.G. “Brother” Stair do see link and see link.)

“If you look at studies, studies say in 30 days you can develop a habit,” said Pastor Paul Wirth.” (Another guy who puts more faith in “psychological studies” than the Bible. Instead of trying to bewitch people with psychiatry to obey rules according to the flesh – legalism – how about preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ so that they may hear, repent of their sins, and experience rebirth so that the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit can enable them to resist sin? The latter is Godly living that God smiles upon as an acceptable sacrifice made through faith like Abel, the former is self – persecution of works that God frowns upon like Cain, see Hebrews 11:4!) It definitely caught wives in the church by surprise. “Our married people are far more fearful than our single people,” said Wirth. “Sex is about more than intercourse and that’s what we’re trying to tell people,” said church member Jarret Haas.

Wirth has found biblical references that he says suggest Jesus disapproved of pre-marital sex and promoted sex in marriage. (When? Yesterday? Last week?) So, he believes people connect to God through life-long commitment. (Jesus Christ and the gospel of Him crucified and resurrected is the only way to God. So your message of a lifelong commitment to God is either committing to a God other than the One of the Bible or is deeply flawed with doctrinal impurity.) That’s why he tells his single followers to abstain, and his married followers to indulge. Wirth is a former Baptist. He founded his non-denominational ministry three years ago. (Obviously three years before finding out what the Bible says about how to run a church. See When? Yesterday? Last week? above.) And he markets his church by tackling unusual or controversial topics. (It will get you more fame, money, and power than by giving people the gospel of Jesus Christ slain and risen, I have to admit that! But it will also take those who preach and follow it straight to gehenna, the lake of fire.)

This is an entry for A Little Leaven’s Graveyard of Relevance if there ever was one. Or then again, maybe it is an entry for their Christian Erotica section! Look people, the whole notion that the church has to become “relevant” on sexuality or anything else is just an excuse to get church people to approve of vulgarity and sin. The original “Christians need to start facing reality and talk about sex” came when God – hating groups in the late 1980s decided that they could exploit AIDS by using it to promote gay rights and sexual libertinism. Even this, however, was building on the decades – long strategy of exploiting the rising teen pregnancy – and sexually transmitted disease – rates of promoting sexual libertinism in public schools using sex education classes. So these people began demanding that churches offer sex education classes and do other things such as hand out condoms to 12 year olds as well. Of course, promoting and supporting fornication in that manner meant having to discard what the Bible said about sexual sin, first with heterosexual fornication, then with homosexuality. Then came along the notion that continuing to teach what the Bible said about sexual sin was “irrelevant” to the problems of the black community. The church had to stop preaching obedience to Jesus Christ in all matters and start promoting “safe fornication” to prevent AIDS and illegitimacy. If you recall, those were the first “faith – based programs”, politically conservative Christians. Or have you forgotten the Bill Clinton era, who co – opted the black church to push his socially liberal agenda long before John Ashcroft put the charitable choice provision in the 1996 welfare reform bill that Bill Clinton signed, the same charitable choice provision that has been expanded by President Bush and by Democratic and Republican governors all over this nation to give tax money – and along with it coercive government regulations! – to Christian organizations, most of them Roman Catholic? It will soon grow into a leviathan system that will crush Christian organizations that refuse to do business with the relationship between Vatican and state because they will not be able to compete financially with the resources of both Rome and the taxpayers. This is already happening with a lot of Christian daycares in my own state of Georgia that are having extreme difficulty competing with the lower prices and the state seal of approval offered by the state – funded daycare system (implemented by “conservative Democrat” Zell Miller and now presided over by evangelical conservative Republican Sonny Perdue) that will pave the way for the universal preschool system to be implemented either by Hillary Clinton or Barack HUSSEIN Obama (it really does not matter which).

But before the right began to use this idea to promote evangelical churches being turned into government social welfare offices, Bill Clinton was using inner city black churches for midnight basketball, and yes to pass out condoms and drug needles in pilot programs administered by the likes of David Satcher and Jocelyn Elders. See where the demand for Purpose Driven apostate churches “relevant” to the world that has rejected Jesus Christ is going to lead, people? That is why it is better to have churches that are relevant to God by teaching its people to obey the Bible.

Back to the universal preschool thing, I can predict how it is going to go. Hillary (or B. Hussein Obama) are going to promote it as a complete government entity, an extension of Head Start as part of public schools. “Conservatives” are going to demand that it be a “public – private” affair. The result will be a universal voucher system for preschools, most of whom will be run by church groups, and most of those will be Roman Catholic. That will then give the political impetus to remove the Blaine amendments enacted to protect us from merging church and state. Yes, they were enacted after large numbers of Roman Catholics moved to America, BUT THAT IS BECAUSE BEFORE THE LARGE SCALE ROMAN CATHOLIC IMMIGRATION THEY WEREN’T NEEDED BECAUSE THE OVERWHELMINGLY PROTESTANT NATION AT THE TIME HAD NO INTEREST IN MERGING CHURCH AND STATE! WHY? BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO FOUNDED THIS NATION IN THE FIRST PLACE WERE FLEEING PERSECUTION AT THE HANDS OF THE STATE CHURCHES! You may have heard George W. Bush, who is not a Christian, speak of “Pell grants for K – 12” in his state of the union address (the previous “school voucher” and “opportunity scholarship” language having failed). The Roman Catholics on the neoconservative blogs and websites were loving that one, as were the not a few Jews (not all of whom are conservative) who want to use taxpayer money to financially support their own day schools. Again, if you want a “relevant” church, this is what it leads to … everything else but the gospel and mission of Jesus Christ.

To The Church Of Judge Not Touch Not Mine Anointed: Perjury Warrant Issued For Earl Paulk

Posted by Job on January 15, 2008

See link here. An 80-year-old leader of a DeKalb County megachurch who is at the center of a sex scandal has been charged with lying under oath for saying he had sex outside marriage with only one other woman, court documents show. A warrant for the arrest of Archbishop Earl Paulk, co-founder of Cathedral of the Holy Spirit at Chapel Hill Harvester Church in Decatur, was issued Monday, according to court documents. Paulk was making arrangements Monday night to turn himself in, WAGA-TV reported. His attorneys did not immediately return calls from The Associated Press seeking comment. Former church employee Mona Brewer is suing Paulk, his brother and the church on allegations that Paulk manipulated her into an affair from 1989 to 2003 by telling her it was her only path to salvation. In a 2006 deposition stemming from the lawsuit, the archbishop said under oath that the only woman he had ever had sex with outside of his marriage was Brewer.

But the results of a court-ordered paternity test revealed in October that Paulk is the biological father of his brother’s son, D.E. Paulk, who is now head pastor at the church. As part of Brewer’s lawsuit, eight women have given sworn depositions that they were coerced into sexual relationships with Earl Paulk. A judge ordered the paternity test at the request of the Cobb County district attorney’s office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. District Attorney Pat Head declined to comment when reached at his home Monday night. Paulk and his brother, Don, have been hit with lawsuits from former members alleging they were coerced into sexual affairs, but this is the first time criminal charges have been filed against the archbishop.

Risky Sex Returns Syphilis To Europe

Original link here. Risky Sex Returns Syphilis to Europe By MARIA CHENG

LONDON (AP) — Syphilis is back: The sexually transmitted disease long associated with 19th Century bohemian life is making an alarming resurgence in Europe.

“Syphilis used to be a very rare disease,” said Dr. Marita van de Laar, an expert in sexually transmitted diseases at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. “I’m not sure we can say that anymore.”

Most cases of syphilis are in men, and experts point to more risky sex among gay men as the chief cause for the resurgence. But more cases are being seen among heterosexuals, both men and women, too.

Syphilis was the sexual scourge of the 19th Century, and is believed to have killed artists like poet Charles Baudelaire, composer Robert Schumann, and painter Paul Gauguin. But the widespread use of penicillin in the 1950s all but wiped it out in the Western world.

In the last decade, however, syphilis has unexpectedly returned, driven by risky sexual behavior and outbreaks in major cities across Europe, including London, Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin.

_ In Britain, syphilis cases have leapt more than tenfold for men and women in the past decade to 3,702 in 2006, according to the Health Protection Agency. Among men in England, the syphilis rate jumped from one per 100,000 in 1997 to nine per 100,000 last year.

_ In Germany, the rate among men was fewer than two per 100,000 in 1991; by 2003, it was six per 100,000.

_ In France, there were 428 cases in 2003 — almost 16 times the number just three years earlier.

_ In the Netherlands, cases doubled from 2000 to 2004. In Amsterdam, up to 31 men per 100,000 were infected, while the rate was much lower in other regions.

Similar trends have been seen in the United States.

In 2000, syphilis infection rates were so low that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention embarked on a plan to eliminate the disease. But about 9,800 cases were reported in 2006.

In Europe, Van de Laar said syphilis’ reappearance was so surprising that many doctors initially had trouble diagnosing it.

Though these days it mainly affects urban gay men, experts worry that the disease could also rebound in the general population if stronger efforts to fight it are not taken soon.

In 2005, British authorities reported that syphilis was spreading across the entire country, and that more heterosexual men and women were being infected.

“These increases may lead to increases in diagnoses of congenital syphilis over the coming years,” said Kate Swan, a spokeswoman for the Health Protection Agency.

Pregnant women with syphilis can pass it on to their babies. Nearly half of all babies infected with syphilis while they are in the womb die shortly before or after birth.

Syphilis is a bacterial disease causing symptoms that include ulcers, sores and rashes. In extreme cases, it can result in dementia or fatally damage the heart, respiratory and central nervous systems. Syphilis is treatable with antibiotics if caught early.

Once there are more than just a few isolated cases, containing the disease is difficult.

Advances made in treating AIDS may have inadvertently boosted syphilis’ spread.

“The evidence points to an increase in unsafe sexual behavior since anti-retrovirals for AIDS came along in 1996,” said van de Laar.

After decades of being instructed to use condoms and to limit the number of sexual partners, some people are probably suffering from “safe sex fatigue,” van de Laar said. The Internet has also allowed people to find sexual partners more easily than before, and some experts link the rise of dating Web sites to the jump in syphilis cases.

For some men, the Internet connections can be especially dangerous.

“Networks of HIV-positive men to find other positive men have sprung up on the Internet,” said Jonathan Elford, an AIDS epidemiologist at London’s City University.

Some men who have the AIDS virus are seeking condom-free sex with other men who are also HIV-infected. However, they aren’t protected against syphilis and other sexually spread diseases. Among gay men who have syphilis in Britain, nearly half have HIV, Elford said.

Amid this resurgence, some officials are now attacking the epidemic online.

Every day, health workers at the Terrence Higgins Trust, Europe’s largest AIDS charity, log into chatrooms on a popular British gay dating Web site to spread safe sex messages and answer questions.

“We know that men are arranging hook-ups for sex online,” said Mark Thompson, the charity’s deputy head of health promotion. “So we decided to tap into cyberspace to try reaching them before unsafe sex might happen.”

The State Of Christianity VI: A Messianic Jew Comments On The Church

Posted by Job on October 1, 2007

From Randy Weiss of Crosstalk.com, who can be reached at randy@crosstalk.org

As a Jewish believer, I have a commentary to share about Christian America. It seems to me that churches, and the Christians they house, have become a dime a dozen? The Church is to be God’s vehicle for change in this world. Christianity is to be the salt and light of a tasteless darkened world. Instead, it seems that we have been dulled by compromise and dimmed by confusion. Churches seem to exist on every corner, but those who attend often seem to have too much in common with the world.

Is this right? We preach Christ, and therefore offer hope–the most valuable commodity on earth, yet, many churchesexhibit death instead of life; darkness instead of daylight. Mausoleums of faith do not spawn life. They merely house the dead.

Undoubtedly, the true Body of Christ is alive and pure and awaiting Christ’s return but often, it seems that God’s remnant is well hidden from our culture. Lights under a bushel I guess. Even our revivals seem to proliferate without any power to penetrate. Unfortunately, when it comes to actually being engaged in revival, after all is said and done, there is still more said than done. Even revivals have been marked down to a dime a dozen. Revivals aremarketed like sporting events, promoted like rock concerts, and visited like religious shrines where celebrities are exalted and their magic charms sold to Christian consumers.

Remember, only dead things need revival. Until we realize how dead we are, we will not be poised for the change from death to life. True revival will not come until we reach the end of ourselves. If we can reach death to ourselves, we will attain life in Christ. At that point, we can be used of God. Maybe, if He chooses, God will then revive the Church in our days. But the indications suggest that secular society is winning the culture war. The world is determining the standards by which the Church should live instead of the other way around.

According to the name game mentioned earlier, world revival seems to be happening for the Moslems. Many
will agree that they have assumed the prestigious title of the fastest growing religion on earth. That is why
around the globe, you are more likely to run into a little Mohammed than anyone else. I mean no disrespect
when I say this. The Moslems are doing a better job of spreading their gospel than the Church. On a per person basis, I think I can safely say that even the Mormons and the Jehovah’s Witnesses have more missionaries and soul-winners – or losers, depending on your perspective – than mainline Christian denominations.

Why is that? Do the cults have more truth? Of course not. Do false religions deserve more adherents because they are more committed than Christians? I hope not. Do they have more power from their master than we do from ours? Our God is Lord of all so there can be no more powerful force anywhere. Do they have more love for their falsehoods than we have for God’s truth? God forbid, but could it be? Let me submit a radical idea for your consideration. I think that the people of God have been infected with greed, lust, pride, and all manner of
deception and evil. Sin is in the camp of God’s people today, and surely, judgment is coming. Listen
friend, the Church must share God’s love with whores and whoremongers, but we must stop ordaining them to
leadership, and allowing them to remain in positions of authority and influence when discovered.

The Church must be a beacon of love and tolerance to adulterers and sodomites, but we cannot allow them to remain hidden behind our pulpits or stumblingblocks on our deacon boards. Yes, we are saved by faith from every form of evil behavior, but not to return to that evil behavior as dogs to vomit. I rejoice in the fact that
grace does free us from our past, and I understand that we cannot attain God’s love through merit. It is
clear that with Paul, we must ?conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law?
(Rom. 3:28). But that doesn’t allow us to break the law and exalt sin. Paul rightly asked and answered the
rhetorical question, ?Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law?
(Rom. 3:31). OK, now I want to give you another of my opinions.

I will shock many of my friends, and delight some of my enemies, but I want to talk about homosexuality. I’m not into gay-bashing! I don’t think we should discriminate against homosexuals. If the truth be known, it seems rather unchristian. One time, I was at a conference of Christian radicals where they were passing out bumper stickers with the ghostbuster symbol saying “No Homos.” Personally, I found it to be a bit distasteful. One of the participants was bragging about his exploits at a gay parade where he snuck around plastering his
bumperstickers on nearby cars. Of course, we should stand for righteousness but evangelism carries a higher
call than unwanted bumper stickers.

Now please don’t misinterpret what I am saying. I don’t want homosexuals running boy scout camps, coaching 7th grade sports programs, or supplying soap to the gym showers, but they have the right to earn a living and not be harassed for their uninformed choices. They’re pagans, what can you expect of a pagan? Here is the real question? Is homosexuality more disgraceful than other sexual sins? Personally, I reject the contrived hierarchy of sexual sins that some Christians have fabricated. The fornicator is not better than the
adulterer. And the adulterer does not have a higher status than the sodomite or the lesbian. Someday, they
will all live together. They will all inhabit the pit of Hell if not redeemed. Is it right to present the homosexual as a worse pervert than any other pervert? Who can say that it is less sinful for a Christian man to sleep with a woman to whom he is not married than it is for an unchristian man to sleep with another man? That is silly. The number of shattered lives among children from marriages broken by adultery outrank the broken lives of offspring from homosexual unions? NO! I don’t have statistics. But I think you can take my word for that one.

I have a friend who likes to say that “Idiots beget idiots.” Well, at leasthomosexuals don’t beget much. Sexual sin, be it adultery or homosexuality is damnable, unless Christ comes to the rescue. Adultery depreciates God’s plan for the family. It destroys the lives of husbands, wives, and the children wrecked by loose zippers and short dresses.
