Paula White’s Atonement Scam Is Spreading. Do They Get Together And Plan This?

Posted by Job on September 22, 2007

When I was in Tallahassee attending college, there was this running joke that the local gas station owners would meet every Saturday night at the Waffle House by the airport to collectively determine what the gas prices would be for the next week. Since so many of these false preachers use the same scams to fleece money from the flock and sap money, prayers, and energy away from the legitimate works of the gospel, I wonder if they collaborate behind the scenes to come up with new scams. “Do you think that they will go for this one? Nah, not enough people will be able to afford that offering. What about this one? Nah, a lot will give, but the offering size will be too small. Why don’t we bring this one back? Well, we made a lot of money on that in the late 70s and early 80s, but the church is into different stuff now, the fall of the Berlin wall ruined our best scams making people think that communists were the anti – Christ. We were going to re-work it by scaring everyone with the Muslim threat, but now Jeremiah Cummings has taught us how to get the money coming in from the Muslim countries (see The Religious Industry and Muslims United, Oh My!). So now we have to appeal to the modern fashionable church mindset. Like what? You know, everyone is interested in learning about the early church and re – examining the Old Testament. I know, we can come up with a whole bunch of scams based on Old Testament festivals and holidays!” So first they trot out Paula White with it because you know she is a woman and we do not believe in holding women accountable or responsible, which makes them very useful as “pastors”: Paula White Claims That Jesus Christ Died In Vain! And after she opens the door, now other snakes are slithering through: see IndependentConservative’s The Jewish Day of Atonement is OBSOLETE. The Lord Jesus Christ Reigns!

This follows the “firstfruits” scam that Paula White and Eddie Long were pushing a few months back: Eddie Long and Paula White, Selling Supposed Favor With God.

Folks, you had better stop playing with God by following these people. Instead, follow Jesus Christ and those who preach and seek true doctrine. Are you saved, born again through Christ Jesus? If not follow The Three Step Salvation Plan!

Oh yes, for the religious industry courting Muslims video:

Aimee Semple McPherson: The Original Juanita Bynum Or Paula White

Posted by Job on September 22, 2007

Like Juanita Bynum and Paula White, Aimee Semple McPherson did many great works. However, about such people we must apply Matthew 7:21-23: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” People, if you are saved but in spiritual Babylon, get out of it! If you are unsaved, please follow The Three Step Salvation Plan!

Here is the founder of the Foursquare Gospel denomination’s Wikipedia entry, and I will cut and paste that content below as Wikipedia stuff has a nasty habit of disappearing:
McPherson was born Aimee Elizabeth Kennedy in Salford, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of James Morgan Kennedy, a widower and devout Methodist, and Mildred Ona Pearce, 36 years his junior, who had been hired to nurse his first wife during her terminal illness. The age difference had caused a scandal in their small Southwestern Ontario community, prompting the couple to elope to the nearby American state of Michigan.

Her mother had been orphaned at an early age, and raised by a couple who worked with the Salvation Army. As a result, young Aimee was raised in an atmosphere of strong Christian beliefs. As a teenager, however, she became an avowed agnostic, and began her public speaking career at the age of 13 in this context, writing letters to the newspaper defending evolution and debating local clergy.

In December 1907, she met her first husband Robert James Semple, a Pentecostal missionary from Ireland, while attending a revival meeting at the urging of her father. After her conversion and a short courtship, they were married on August 12, 1908.

Shortly thereafter, the two embarked on an evangelistic tour, first to Europe and then to China, where they arrived in June 1910. Shortly after they disembarked in Hong Kong, however, they both contracted dysentery. Robert Semple died of the disease on August 19, 1910. Aimee Semple recovered and gave birth to a daughter, Roberta Star Semple, on September 17, after which she returned to the United States. Roberta died in January 2007.

Aimee Semple’s mother “Minnie” had, in the footsteps of her foster parents, remained active with the Salvation Army, and after a short recuperation, Semple joined her in this work. While so occupied in New York, she met her second husband, Harold Stewart McPherson, an accountant. They were married on May 5, 1912, and they had a son, Rolf Potter Kennedy McPherson, born March 23, 1913.

After the birth of her son, McPherson suffered from postpartum depression and several serious health issues. She tried to settle down to a quieter home-life, but her personal call to Christian service remained constant. While in her sickbed after her second operation within two years, she recommitted herself to what she felt was God’s call. Soon thereafter, her health improved. After this near-death experience in 1913, she embarked upon a preaching career in Canada and the United States. In keeping with the promise to God made in her illness, she had left home by June of 1915 and began evangelizing and holding tent revivals, first by traveling up and down the eastern part of the United States, then expanding to other parts of the country.

Her revivals were often standing room only; on one occasion she met in a boxing ring, but had to hold her meetings before and after the boxing match. (According to the PBS-TV American Experience documentary “Sister Aimee,” she did, however, walk around during the match with a sign inviting the crowd to attend her service after the match and “knock out the Devil.”) Once in San Diego, the National Guard had to be brought in to control the crowd of over 30,000 people. People would often stand in line and wait many hours for the next service to begin in order to be assured a seat.

In 1916, in the company of her mother Mildred Kennedy, she made a tour through the southern United States. in her “Gospel Car”, a 1912 Packard touring car with religious slogans painted on the side; standing in the back seat of the convertible, she would give sermons through a megaphone. On the road between sermons, she would sit in the back seat typing sermons and other religious materials. By 1917 she had started her own newspaper, named The Bridal Call, for which she wrote many of the articles. Although her husband initially made efforts to join her on her religious travels, he soon became frustrated with the situation, and by 1918 had filed for separation. His petition for divorce, citing abandonment, was granted in 1921.

[edit] International Church of the Foursquare Gospel

McPherson spent several years, from 1918 to 1922 as an itinerant Pentecostal preacher. Weary of constant traveling and having no place to raise a family, she eventually settled in Los Angeles. This was to be her base of operation. There she maintained both a home and a church. For several years she continued to travel and raise money for the construction of a large, domed church building in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles, named Angelus Temple. The church was eventually built, and dedicated on January 1, 1923. The church had a seating capacity of 5,300 people and was filled to capacity three times each day, seven days a week. In the beginning, McPherson preached every service. The church eventually evolved into its own denomination, called the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. The church became noted for its community services, particularly during the Great Depression.

McPherson was famous both inside and outside of religious circles. Every city where services were held usually had civic leaders in attendance, as well as pastors representing the local churches of every denomination. She made sure that Angelus Temple was represented in local parades and entered floats into the famous Rose Parade in Pasadena. Her illustrated sermons attracted people from the entertainment industry, looking to see a “show” that rivaled what Hollywood had to offer. These famous stage productions drew people who would never have thought to enter a church, and then presented them with her interpretation of the message of salvation. McPherson believed that the Gospel was to be presented at every opportunity, and used worldly means at her disposal to present it to as many people as possible. Her sermons, unlike other contemporaries, e.g. Billy Sunday, were not the usual fire-and-brimstone messages, but were based around a more friendly interpretation of the modern Christian texts. She was also very skillful at fundraising. Collections were taken at every meeting, usually with the admonishment of “no coins, please”. When the $1.5 million Angelus Temple opened its doors, construction was already entirely paid for through private donations.

Since Pentecostalism was not popular in the U.S. during the 1920s she avoided the label, but she was heavily influenced by this faith, incorporating demonstrations of speaking-in-tongues and faith healing into her sermons, and keeping a museum of crutches, wheelchairs and other paraphernalia. She was also strongly influenced by the Salvation Army: in a campaign to spread the church nationwide, she adopted a theme of “lighthouses” for the satellite churches, referring to the parent church as the “Salvation Navy.”Always seeking publicity, McPherson continued publishing the weekly Foursquare Crusader and a monthly magazine dubbed Bible Call. She also began broadcasting on radio in its infancy in the early ’20s. McPherson was the first woman in history to preach a radio sermon, and with the opening of Foursquare Gospel-owned KFSG (now KXOL) on February 6, 1924, she also became the first woman to be granted a broadcast license by the Federal Radio Commission (which became the Federal Communications Commission in 1934).

McPherson is also credited with integrating her tent meetings and church services. She broke down racial barriers such that one time at Angelus Temple, some Ku Klux Klan members were in attendance, but after the service, many of their hoods and robes were found thrown on the ground in nearby Echo Park. She is also credited with helping many of the Hispanic ministries in Los Angeles get started, and even had a large Gypsy following, after the wife of a Gypsy chief and the chief himself had been healed in a Denver revival meeting.

In 1925, the license for KFSG was suspended by the Commerce Department for deviating from its assigned frequency. McPherson received several death threats in 1925, and an alleged plot to kidnap her was foiled in September of that year, thus setting the stage for the episode for which she is perhaps best known.

Reported abduction

On May 18, 1926, McPherson went to Ocean Park Beach, north of Venice Beach, with her secretary, to go swimming. Soon after arrival, McPherson disappeared. It was generally assumed at the time that she had drowned.

According to PBS’s American Experience, McPherson was scheduled to hold a service on the very day she vanished; McPherson’s mother appeared and preached at the service in her place, and at the end announced, “Sister is with Jesus,” sending parishioners into a tearful frenzy. Mourners crowded Venice Beach, and the commotion sparked days-long media coverage of the event, fueled in part by William Randolph Hearst’s Los Angeles Examiner, and even including a poem by Upton Sinclair commemorating the “tragedy.” Daily updates appeared in newspapers across the country; parishioners held day-and-night seaside vigils. A futile search for the body resulted in one parishioner drowning and another diver dying from exposure.

At about the same time, Kenneth G. Ormiston, engineer for KFSG, also disappeared. According to American Experience, some believed McPherson and Ormiston, a married man with whom McPherson had developed a close friendship and allegedly had been having an affair, had run off together. About a month after the disappearance, McPherson’s mother, Minnie Kennedy, received a ransom note, signed by “The Avengers”, which demanded a half million dollars to ensure kidnappers would not sell McPherson into “white slavery”. Kennedy later said she tossed the letter away, believing her daughter to be dead.

After 35 days (on June 23), McPherson stumbled out of the desert in Agua Prieta, a Mexican town just across the border from Douglas, Arizona. She claimed that she had been kidnapped, drugged, tortured, and held for ransom in a shack in Mexico, then had escaped and walked through the desert for about 13 hours to freedom.

Several problems were found with McPherson’s story. Her shoes showed no evidence of a 13-hour walk; indeed, they had grass stains on them after a supposed walk through the desert. The shack could not be found. McPherson showed up fully dressed while having disappeared wearing a bathing suit, and was wearing a watch given to her by her mother, which she had not taken on her swimming trip. A grand jury convened on July 8 to investigate the matter, but adjourned 12 days later citing lack of evidence to proceed. However, several witnesses then came forward stating that they had seen McPherson and Ormiston at various hotels over the 32-day period.

The grand jury re-convened on August 3 and received further testimony, corroborated by documents from hotels in McPherson’s handwriting. McPherson steadfastly stuck to her story that she was approached by a young couple at the beach who had asked her to come over and pray for their sick child, and that she was then shoved into a car and drugged with chloroform. However, when she was not forthcoming with answers regarding her relationship with Ormiston (who was recently estranged from his wife), Judge Samuel Blake charged McPherson and her mother with obstruction of justice on November 3.

Theories and innuendo abounded: she had run off with a lover; she had had an abortion; she was recovering from plastic surgery; she had staged the whole thing as a publicity stunt. No satisfactory answer, though, was ever reached, and soon after the Examiner erroneously reported that Los Angeles district attorney Asa Keyes had dropped all charges, Keyes decided to do exactly that on January 10, 1927, citing lack of evidence.

The tale inspired a satirical song, The Ballad of Aimee McPherson, popularized by Pete Seeger. The song explains that the kidnapping story was unlikely because a hotel love nest revealed that “the dents in the mattress fit Aimee’s caboose.”

McPherson continued her ministry after the controversy over the alleged abduction diminished, but she fell out of favor with the press. While she and her ministry still received a good deal of publicity, most of it was bad. Additionally, she became involved in power struggles for the church with her mother and daughter. McPherson suffered a nervous breakdown in August 1930.

On September 13, 1931, McPherson married again, this time to an actor and musician, David Hutton. The marriage got off to a rocky start: two days after the wedding, Hutton was sued for alienation of affection by a woman, Hazel St. Pierre, whom he claimed never to have met. He eventually settled the case by paying $5,000 to St. Pierre. While McPherson was away in Europe, she was incensed to discover Hutton was billing himself as “Aimee’s man” in his cabaret singing act. The marriage also caused an uproar within the church. The tenets of Foursquare Gospel, which were set up by McPherson herself, stated that no one should remarry while their previous spouse was still alive (which Harold McPherson was at the time). McPherson and Hutton separated in 1933, and divorced on March 1, 1934.

On September 27, 1944, shortly after giving a sermon, she was found dead in her hotel room in Oakland, California, of an overdose of prescription barbiturates. There was conjecture of suicide. However, it is generally agreed that the overdose was accidental, as stated on the coroner’s report.

McPherson is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California. According to The Preachers by James Morris, she was buried with a live telephone in her casket to ensure her survival in the event of bodily resurrection, although other biographers do not mention this and groundskeepers at Forest Lawn deny it. The Foursquare Gospel church, whose leadership was assumed by McPherson’s son Rolf for 44 years after her death, continues worldwide with over two million members, over 90% of whom are outside the United States.

Juanita Bynum At Barack HUSSEIN Obama Fundraiser Held By New Age Witch Oprah Winfrey?

Posted by Job on September 7, 2007

I must ask: have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? If not, follow this link: The Three Step Salvation Plan

See it here!
ajc.com/news/content/metro/gwinnett/stories/2007/09/06/bynum_0907.html?cxntlid=homepage_tab_newstab

So here you have a woman raised in and representing Pentecostal/charismatic Christianity speaking at a fundraiser to support the ambitions of one such as Obama who supports abortion, homosexuality, and a number of other abominations? At an event hosted by the best known proponent of the New Age false religion in America (yes, Barbra Streisand, Oprah has surpassed you, and what makes her worse than you is that Oprah promotes mixing New Age and Christianity … after all, she and Barack Obama are both members of the same “church”)? See Is Oprah Winfrey’s New Age “The Secret” The Same As Word – Faith Prosperity? It just shows you that the Bible is true yet again: Amos 3:3 says “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?“ So you supporters of Juanita Bynum and all of these other false preachers when there are so many good hard working legitimate preachers out there … who are YOU walking in agreement with? I will say this: someone who thinks so little of you that they are so bold enough to lie to you on worldwide CHRISTIAN television while knowing full well that her lies will be exposed: Juanita Bynum Lies On TBN! Oh yes, and how that “Christian” TV station TBN just sat back and allowed her to lie like that unchallenged because she is one of their top moneymakers? It is time to stop walking in agreement too. We really do need to consider contacting the legitimate ministries that appear on this network and urge them to stop giving legitimacy – and money – to these people. You would have hoped that they would have done so after Paul Crouch personally endorsed ‘ heretical dual covenant theology: that Islam is just as legitimate as Christianity, but maybe they need some action by the rank and file faithful first. What do you think? And do you think that contacting the legitimate preachers on TBN to ask them to disassociate themselves from these evil people would be effective or worthwhile?

Juanita Bynum Lies On TBN!

Posted by Job on September 6, 2007

She says “I will not break the covenant” on TBN and talks about how she still loves Thomas Weeks III, because he is a man of God. Unbeknown to the 100% supportive studio audience and the viewing audience (but almost certainly known to TBN, who had set her up with the most favorable interviewer possible), SHE HAD ALREADY AUTHORIZED HER LAWYER TO FILE FOR DIVORCE! Now I believe in exploring all angles, so in the interests of fairness, she could be just keeping that option open and performing due diligence, as divorce petitions can be withdrawn at any time. But that does not change the fact that she totally misled her audience.

What was most amazing was the brazenness of this woman. She KNEW that people who were not her regular audience would be watching – including the media – and that they were going to catch her in a lie. But you know what? She doses not care about being caught in deception. Why? Because she has been deceiving people all these years and still keeps her supporters. If she has been lying all this long and none of her supporters care, why should they start caring now? It is obvious based on the comments on this very weblog that the supporters of Juanita Bynum will continue to be so, and even make railing accusations and “prophecies” of doom against all who speak the truth. I can already predict what defenses I will get. Folks are going to say “I am not breaking the covenant” does not mean “I will not divorce my husband.” While that is true, it ignores that Juanita Bynum has been playing this game for a long time and is very crafty; choosing her words to give herself – and her supporters – a line of defense; plausible deniability, just like lawyer Bill Clinton did when he said “It depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is.” (Now do not lump me in with those Rush Limbaugh “blame everything on Clinton” types … if anything those people were all in it together … after all both Clinton and his “number one enemy” Newt Gingrich are members of the same Council of Foreign Relations that the owners of TBN as well as many prominent ministers like Rick Warren and TD Jakes are either members of or run with … all committed to the same global agenda. Just do a Google search on “Council on Foreign Relations” and “Center For National Policy” and include the names of Paul Crouch, Rick Warren, TD Jakes, etc. and see what you come up with. But none of that changes the fact that CLINTON WAS LYING THEN AND JUANITA BYNUM IS LYING NOW.)

Yet we will continue to speak the truth, because we serve not man but the Spirit of Truth; the very same God whom people like this – and their supports – mock with their lies and doctrines. But do not worry, God is not mocked! Judgment day is coming. If this whole ugly episode has convinced you of the need to get right with the one true God, follow The Three Step Salvation Plan right now! By the way … thanks to Independent Conservative for the clip, which he used in the original link:

Paula And Randy White’s Apostastic Statement On Their Divorce

Posted by Job on August 26, 2007

Update: see Paula White Claims That Jesus Christ Died In Vain!

From news article: Megachurch founding pastors to seek divorce. This will take the form of a “running commentary” type of deal. I am not glorifying in misfortune or mocking them; this is for the sole purpose of letting people know that they shouldn’t have been following Whites or preachers like them in the first place, and if they are they should stop. People, having a “happy successful marriage” according to the selfish carnal worldly desires of your own flesh is part and parcel of the prosperity doctrine, and in one week two of the most prominent teachers of it: Paula and Randy White and Juanita Bynum and Bishop Weeks III, have been shown not to be practicing what they preach. And no wonder. The prosperity doctrine is based on promises made to the nation of Israel under the old covenant, not to individuals in the church under the new covenant. In order to have a lasting Christian marriage, you have to learn about the new covenant and live under its terms: you, your spouse, and any children that God sees fit to bless you with. If you aren’t willing to do that, then just take Paul’s advice and don’t get married! Realize that under the old covenant, a major purpose of marriage was to propagate the Jewish race, religion, and nation so that God the Father could use it to bring Jesus Christ into the world. That does not apply to us! Under the new covenant, marriage is to be within the Body of Christ, and therefore being married to your spouse is a “type”, a representation, of being married to God Himself. That is why the New Testament says that a man is to love his wife as Christ loved the church, and that a woman is to submit to her husband. That is why where the old covenant’s reasons for divorce and remarriage were quite liberal, the new covenant only allows one party divorce if the other party defiles the covenant – which is the same as defiling the Body of Christ – with sexual immorality, and remarriage is only allowed if the other party abandons you for another – again tantamount to their leaving the Body of Christ for another religion.

The new covenant is all about following the example of Christ, and the example of Christ is that of service, submission, and self – sacrifice. Just as Christ submitted Himself to the Father, served man, and sacrificed Himself to cover our sins, Christian husbands and wives are to do the same: submit to God and each other, serve God and each other, and sacrifice their own wants, needs, and desires for the marriage, with the goal being not to honor yourself or your spouse, but God. You are supposed to have faith that if you do these things, GOD will bless your marriage by giving you AND your partner peace, charity, and joy in it through the fruits of the Holy Spirit. This whole introducing the prosperity doctrine into marriage – emblemized by the fur coats that Randy was buying Paula and the huge diamond ring that Thomas Weeks III bought Juanita Bynum. It takes the focus off God and puts it onto the individual, turning marriage from an institution where the participants seek to please God in spirit to one where the participants try to use religion to please their flesh. But let me warn you: the couple that calls itself Christian while trying to primarily please themselves or each other instead of serving God will only wind up perverting everything about the marriage, even the good things that God gave them that were to be holy and righteous. That is what I was saying in my response to Pastor Anavah (who now has her own weblog, click here to visit it) in Is Bishop Thomas Weeks III A Wife Beater? We Know He’s A Heretic!. So now, the article on the Whites:

TAMPA — Megachurch pastors Randy and Paula White stood before their congregation Thursday night and made the announcement that many in their flock feared had been coming for months. They are divorcing. (So if “the flock” knew that their marriage was going to break up, thereby exposing their entire ministry as a lie, why were they still attending the church? Remember: it was the second marriage for both. Please remember what Paul wrote in Timothy about the qualifications for a pastor or church officer: a man that does not have control over his own house – which, as I said earlier, will happen because the man is not living in submission to Jesus Christ – should not serve in that position. I suppose that one could be liberal with this and make allowances for his first divorce. But after his second marriage begun to collapse, it should have been obvious to these people that this was not a man following God and that it was time to follow a new church. It is appalling how Christians are now following preachers that swap wives like Hollywood celebrities.)

“It is the most difficult decision that I have had to make in my entire life,” said the Rev. Randy White, 49. (So your first divorce was easier? If so, why?) “I take full responsibility for a failed marriage -100 percent. I don’t blame Paula, and I don’t blame other parties. But as the man of the house, I take full responsibility for that.” (According to the Bible, this can only be so if Randy White was committing adultery or some other form of sexual immorality. If that was not the case, then he is lying. Either she is 100% at fault for abandoning him, or they are equally at fault for mutually consenting to the sin of divorce. Even if in private one party initiated the divorce and the other party opposes it but has no choice – and there is evidence that such is indeed the case – then the fault is still mutual for putting on this show for public appearances. If one party is trying to live according to the Bible here, that party is obligated to GOD to let his or her attempts to remain faithful to scripture known, not to the reputation of the one that is sinning by leaving. God calls on us to forgive sinners, not to make a mockery of His scriptures in order to save their reputations – and their financially lucrative ministries.)

He praised his wife, calling her an exceptional woman and a great preacher and wife. (Anyone who has been to her website, her Myspace.com page, or has seen her play the sexual exploitation game with Tyra Banks would disagree.)

Standing by his side and appearing to fight back tears, the Rev. Paula White called the decision to divorce “one of the most painful of our lives.” (As I have frequently stated in my criticisms of women who defy scripture by taking the roles of pastor or others in authority in the church, they have the ability to use emotional manipulation to avert personal responsibility for their actions, something that would never be tolerated in a man, and therefore making it virtually impossible for the Body of Christ to hold its officers accountable for scripture. Which is, of course, a main reason why male pastors like Randy White find it so convenient to have his wife be the co – pastor: he can just have her come out and cry to cover up not only her misdeeds but also to run interference for his. Please note how the controversies regarding both the Whites and the Bynum-Weeks are already being viewed by many as personal marital disputes and not spiritual ones involving people with positions of authority, influence, and responsibility that require accountability to scripture. A secular corporation would never allow the chief financial officer to bring out and allow his wife to cry and carry on to cover him for embezzling or fraud, why the church has lower standards than secular corporations is something that we will be judged for.)

“But God always comes to you in the dark places of life,” White said, standing beside her husband in the pulpit. (Anyone ever hear of going to a righteous holy God that hates sin with sorrow and repentance so that He will graciously allow you to return to fellowship with Him, and to pledge to keep His commandments? I suppose that it is not a part of their teaching.)

White, 41, also offered a note of optimism.

“It’s not the end of the story for Randy or Paula or maybe even Randy and Paula,” she said. (Today? No. But the day of the Lord is coming, and THAT DAY will be your end unless you repent.)

The couple, who have both been married and divorced before, did not say what caused their breakup. They also did not detail if they had filed for divorce. They have grown children from previous relationships but none together.

Word about trouble in the couple’s marriage has circulated for months. The Whites’ disparate ministry paths have fueled much of the concern. Randy White, a bishop (ordained as one by whom?) at Without Walls International Church, has been spending time in Malibu, Calif., in hopes of establishing a ministry on the West Coast. Paula White, the church’s senior pastor (so much for being in subjection to your husband as scripture requires) and a sought-after televangelist, keeps an apartment in New York City, where she recently opened a new ministry and self-help center in July. (Make no mistake: they have been planning this for awhile. Just as companies plan mergers, the Whites have been planning their split in a way where they will remain rich and their “ministries” financially lucrative.)

The couple, arguably the most prominent evangelical partners in the state, said they made their announcement at Thursday night’s service to tell their church “family” before word of their separation appears in the local and national media.

The Whites’ split calls into question the future of the 22,000 member megachurch, which the couple founded as South Tampa Christian Center in 1991. During their announcement, which came just before the sermon, the Whites sought to put those concerns to rest.

Randy White said he would continue to lead Without Walls and would focus on being a “great pastor” and a “great dad.” (Don’t worry, you will always have a place where you can follow a false preacher apostate’s man – pleasing false gospel. No need to worry about finding a real church with a pastor that is at least TRYING to obey scripture.)

Paula White said she would also continue to preach at Without Walls when invited by her husband. (Yep. If she will preach for oneness pentecostal cult heretics like Jakes and Noel Jones, she will preach for her ex – husband. The money is good either way, and you KNOW it will make for a great TBN Praise The Lord special about how in Christ we can set aside everything, including what the Bible tells us to do, and come together in unity.) She also said Paula White Ministries would continue to be based in Tampa.

Several hundred Without Walls members were in the audience for the announcement (out of 20000+?) . As the Whites spoke, some people in the crowd cried (not for the reason that Jeremiah did in Lamentations, of course). Others appeared stunned, noticeable by the audible gasps in the cavernous sanctuary.

Warming herself outside the church, one woman said “God knows best,” before being told by another member to avoid talking to the media. At least one Without Walls member said the church was hurting and lashed out at a reporter for being on site to witness the announcement. (That is a way to win hearts for the gospel: abusing reporters and conspiring to silence. And it isn’t about what God wants, but how we feel, right?)

The church broadcasts its services via the Internet at Streaming Faith (the same people that dumped Reuben Armstrong for telling the truth about false preachers like Paula White Streaming Faith Dumps Reuben Armstrong! and is not run by Christians and is trying to use the technology developed by Christians to spread the gospel to get into the Internet pornography business More Trouble For Streaming Faith! Make no mistake, it is all about the money, people!) . But last night’s announcement was not aired. The video of the broadcast was interrupted without explanation and resumed after the announcement. Inside the church, the preacher for the evening, the Rev. Tim Storey, sought to offer direction to a stunned congregation.

“How many of you feel sorrow tonight,” Storey asked the crowd. Hands shot up around the sanctuary. “We should. But God is still good.” (How many of you are willing to repent of your sins and follow the true gospel, living your life as governed by the Bible? If you do, please The Three Step Salvation Plan!)

To All Defenders Of Juanita Bynum, Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen, TD Jakes, And Other False Preachers: The Cult Of “Do Not Judge”

This is courtesy of Brother Dennis Thompson. Brother Dennis Thompson and I do not agree on everything (see his comment and my response on spiritual warfare) but his comment on An Expose Of Just How Bad Juanita Bynum And Thomas Weeks Are to the many Juanita Bynum defenders on it called The Cult of”DO NOT JUDGE” was too outstanding to remain a mere response to a weblog post: it deserved the spotlight in its own right. Since an Internet search did not turn up the original document in a weblog or website, I will provide the text of Brother Thompson’s comments here. The cult of “Do not Judge”

This article is being written on behalf of all the ministries and people that defend the faith with the truth and are accused of judging because they test those who teach falsely with the Word of God.

The premise-Does God tell us not to judge?
The Bibles answer-No He does not.

John 7:24 Jesus says: “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” What Jesus does tell us is not to judge by our own opinions, but instead judge by the word of God, that is what it means to judge righteously. He always encouraged the people to judge. God told Israel to judge the prophets in the Old Testament. He had the true prophets judge the false but the people reacted saying the very same things people are saying today. Your being negative oh you never have anything good to say. In the New Testament we are told to judge prophecy, to discern, to test the spirits and we are told to test ALL things. We are told to do this because it helps keep us away from what is false and evil. The apostle Paul showed us how to judge so there would be no second guesswork. The apostle Paul said, “If anyone preaches another gospel let him be accursed” Would anyone say to Paul’s face “your judging.” In 2 Thess. 3:14-15 “And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.” Strong guidelines that many avoid to do today. These are done not to condemn but to bring repentance and restoration.

Lets let God decide whose right or wrong. Does this sound familiar? Except this particular statement was from a Muslim. But it can be anyone from any religion. Even Christians say we should not pursue a matter to find the truth. I realize that when one’s favorite teacher or leader is questioned the initial human response can be one of agitation and turn to over emotionalism. But when feelings do not subside and escalate into anger, rage, and maliciousness, it is not godly at all. Despite that they believe they have a cause to protect their teacher, it is not advantageous for anyone to have their emotions rule if they are trying to arrive at the truth.

There has been a trend going on for a number of years that has dulled the spiritual senses of the church and leavened the convictions of many a Christian. It has risen to new heights as of late where if anyone has anything to say about another they are told, “Don’t judge, “touch not my anointed” “do my prophets no harm” etc. Maybe if some of the people that quote these verses would look at what they actually say “in context,” they wouldn’t have such flawed arguments, they would not find themselves becoming entangled emotionally. Its not just finding a few words to prove a position, but what do they mean in the Scripture in its context and can they apply to us today.

What is ironic is that to tell people they are judgmental is to judge them. What people are doing is recommending for us not to judge by the word of God, but dispense with any discernment, just like they do it. Some even threaten and curse those who test because they cannot deal with the Scriptural proof presented to them. Christians are not to threaten or curse others because they disagree. Neither should they be warning that they are going to prayer, as though God will answer their prayer of vengeance and avenge the persons teaching that was examined and found false. The facts more often than not are; those who say not to judge are incredibly more judgmental then those they accuse of judging.

One person wrote, “Whether _______ is right or wrong is not up to you to discuss with anyone.” Lets look at this illogical statement. Now we can never discuss doctrine and peoples teachings. This means they too cannot discuss anything that they think, even if it is beneficial! But Heb.6:1-3 tells us we can discuss doctrine. “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.” In other words many of these things should be settled, but there are many things that are not.

What I have found is very few challenge back quoting from the Bible to prove their position. Rarely do they say this person does not teach this or you misunderstood, he really means this. What they argue is just don’t test it, or don’t say this because I know such and such for years and they are doing great things for God. That’s judging isn’t it? And it is done by appearance. Then when this does not work they will respond by calling names and threatening people using Bible cliché’s as “don’t judge” “don’t touch God’s anointed,” “do my prophets no harm,” etc., all taken out of context. If they were to think biblically they would realize we are all anointed, not just some, and to come against another brother or sister that is trying to obey Scripture means they too are coming against God’s anointed. Everyone in the body of Christ is anointed; nonetheless what someone teaches is to be tested. How do we know this? Paul commended the Thessalonians for doing so, even when it was Paul himself that was being examined by Scripture (Acts 17:11).That is a right Spirit.

So many have been indoctrinated into the constraint of don’t say anything against another no matter how far off they are. Let God will deal with them. If this were true, then why are we given all the commands in Scripture to judge? Why all the warnings that deception and falsehood will permeate the Church in the end and we are to be on guard? We are told to deal with it and not allow it to continue. It’s not to say that we make mountains out of molehills, but some are already mountains that need to be moved. So lets speak to the mountain, speak to those who congregate at the foot of it and tell them.

We should take note, we all judge things all day: let me give some examples. When you sit down you make sure you’re comfortable, you’re judging whether or not you are comfortable. When you eat food at restaurant you judge whether it taste good or bad, and you judge the service you were given. When you bring your car to a mechanic you look for a good one and then you judge if he did a good job. When you buy a product you make sure it works as advertised. When you receive bills in the mail you judge whether they were recorded right. Even in conversations you judge whether someone is telling the truth. So we judge not only every day, but throughout the day. You can’t help but judge! All these things mentioned do not necessarily have an affect on your spiritual life. But the things that actually can affect your spiritual life people are saying, “don’t judge.” If ever a lie of the Devil was told this was it. When the Devil tempted Eve he hoped that she would not judge what he was saying with what God had already spoke. During the conversation (Gen.3) she began to challenge him by the word of God but he responded by bringing doubt on God’s word, saying “has God said?” By the time he was finished she believed the Devil over what God said. She didn’t judge, and instead she and Adam were judged!

What Has God said?
Jethro gave advice after seeing Moses was going to be burnt out on ruling. Moses responded in Deut. 1:15-18 “So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and knowledgeable men, and made them heads over you, leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, leaders of tens, and officers for your tribes. “Then I commanded your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear the cases between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the stranger who is with him. ‘You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.’ “And I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.” This was the law to Israel and a principle of how they were to live. So they were to judge even the menial matters among themselves. This is made clearer in the New Testament about doctrine.

This is again repeated in Deut.16:18-19 “You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment.” You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.”

Why are some of the most drastic things said by famous people ignored, these scriptures show that it is because people are partial, loyal to the renowned, not caring if they are wrong or right. A bribe can be money or it can be other things such as promises or blessings that will be lost. The outcome is that it twists the words of the righteous when they are manipulated not to say the truth.

Judges 2:18-19 “And when the LORD raised up judges for them, the LORD was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the LORD was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them. And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they reverted and behaved more corruptly than their fathers, by following other gods, to serve them and bow down to them. They did not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn way.” The judges were to implement the commands from the word. Notice what happens when there is no judgment to decide what is right or wrong, the people do what they feel like and reap the consequences. The end of the book of judges it tells us what happened, every man did what was right in their own eyes (Judges 17:6, 21:25).

The judges were restored under Jehoshaphat king of Judah. 2 Chron.19:4-7 “So Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the mountains of Ephraim, and brought them back to the LORD God of their fathers. Then he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, and said to the judges, “Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.” Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.”

For even Asaph said in Ps. 82:1-4 “God stands in the congregation of the mighty; he judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked? Selah “Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked.” People are defenseless from the wicked when they put aside judgment. Today there are many people that are abused by those who Lord it over them, by manipulation, by teachings and promises that never come true. If you have a heart of compassion you cannot just sit idly by while this takes place, even to those you may not know personally. It is being done to the body of Christ and the body of Christ needs to say something.

What did Jesus actually say on judging?
Protectors of false teachers will say Jesus said, “not to Judge,” quoting Matthew 7:1, therefore that we cannot “judge.” At first glance it appears that Jesus does forbid judging, but lets continue to read the passage. Matthew 7:1-5: “Judge not, that you be not judged.” For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?” Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?” Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

In other words you can judge as along as you are not doing the same thing. If you want to help another and have taken care of yourself in this area, then you are able to see and operate on your brother. Jesus does not say don’t operate under any circumstances, but allows us to remove the speck when we can see. But Jesus goes on and says in v:6: “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” What He is saying is that we need to make sure whom we are engaged with. When you try to correct someone with the Holy Word and they are haters of truth they will not receive the pearls and will turn on you. So we are to weigh out whom we give the Word of God out to.

Christ kept this theme throughout His ministry rebuking the people in Luke 12:55-57 “And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is.” Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? “Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?” This was said right after Jesus lectured on His coming, how it would bring division, not unity (Luke 12:56-57).

Jesus also said “Beware of false prophets!” (Matthew 7:15) this is a warning but comes as a command from our Lord. But how could we “beware” of “false prophets” unless we test what they say? Instead of obeying what Jesus said, some actually ignore this and support them. How? By saying, “don’t test it,” “don’t touch God’s anointed.” They do this because they have been taught “by them” not to question them. Loyalty and respect are good qualities but we cannot fall into the trap that because so and so was in ministry for 20-40 years or we know them personally that they can’t say something terribly wrong. True men of God are willing to be corrected from the Word, no matter who spoke a certain teaching or prophecy.

“Ye shall know them by their fruits,” Christ said (Matthew 7:16). In judging their “fruits,” we must judge by God’s Word. So what is fruit? Well to understand fruit we need to take a few steps backwards. The seed is the word of God, it is what gives us the new life. As it grows in us we mature until we become like a tree (Psalm 1), for a tree bears fruit. Christ is using a natural example of a spiritual principle– a mature tree bears fruit. If the seed is the word, than the tree and the roots of the tree must be of the word. So a good tree bears good fruit. The fruit can’t be good if it is not based on the word, in other words they need to have correct doctrine and teach right to have good fruit. This does not mean one is right on everything but they will hold to the core teachings and are consistent in these. They will not say one thing one time, and contradict themselves another time.

In the New Testament this statement sums up what Jesus meant on judging. In John 7:24 says: “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” Jesus is saying we can “judge” only do it correctly, not by what you see or hear but by the Word of truth. Just because you don’t want to judge does not mean you have the right to tell others not to. To accuse others of doing what the Bible tells us to do– is to judge without a righteous judgment.

Jesus said in John 5:30 “I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.” To seek God’s will in a matter is to go to Scripture to see what he says on something. Jesus had perfect judgment because he heard from the Father. He also delivered this word to us and says it is not only His Word but the Fathers (Jn.14:24). So if the Word of God is used correctly it is not you or I judging but God, therefore it becomes a righteous judgment.

Jesus again made it clear how to judge unrighteously “You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. “And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me” (John 8:15-16). Jesus did not judge by appearances, He was able to know the heart. While we do not have the same ability, He has given us directions on how we can judge and be accurate in it. A crooked stick by itself may not show that it is bent, but it will always be seen as crooked when laid next to the straight stick of the word.

Paul wrote in Phil. 3:15-17 “Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule let us be of the same mind. Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.” Paul used himself and the other apostles as our physical examples in everything. Paul could not deal individually with the many false teachers springing up like weeds in the different areas. Paul said to follow his example as he followed Christ. Christ openly showed what is false, so did Paul, and so did the other apostles. Much of the New Testament was written to publicly correct false teaching within the Church itself. Every second epistle written by an apostle is for correction or judging false doctrine. In 2 Timothy 4:10, Paul judges and warns about a man named Demas. Later in the same epistle (2:17) he warns of the heresies of two others naming them. Paul did a lot of judging and warning when it came to false teachers that could influence the church, because he cared. What if Paul didn’t judge and allowed Alexander to continue teaching, what if Peter let Simon Magus stay in the Church? Think it through!

We also have permission to judge false doctrine, and those who really care do so.

What about love?
John the Baptist called both the Pharisees and Sadducees “a generation of Vipers” (snakes) (Matt. 3:7), he rebuked Herod the king. Today, he would be accused of being unloving, unkind, no respect for leaders and most of all un-Christian. Jesus and Paul would also be accused of being judgmental if one would examine what they actually said. I believe God has been training the Church to recognize error and deception because the real deception that could deceive the elect may be just around the corner. If you can’t judge today’s falsehood you will certainly be unable to tomorrow when things escalate. Is it now unloving to stop someone from going over cliff when you already know where the road ends.

How else do you protect the sheep if you do not speak out? Let me give a simple example: If someone is selling a false product in your city and numerous people are buying it and becoming sick. What would you do? What if you tried to go to the manufacturer but he would not meet with you because he is an important man in the community and you are not? Do you keep silent and just let it go or is it your duty to let others know? James says not to do something you know is right is sin. So you are sinning if you have any idea it could be wrong. Here in lies the problem, the people who say don’t judge do this for protection of their teachers. But they will often admit that they know there are things wrong, but they have not come to the conclusion of how wrong it is.

The Apostle Paul also writes: “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all discernment (judgment) that you may approve things that are excellent in God’s sight.” It is this same love that he applies to Eph. 4:14-15 “that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ” This truth would be the word that would challenge the words from deceivers who are deceived and affecting the body with “winds of doctrine.”

We are to identify certain people for the brethren’s own safety. We are to identify false teachers for the purpose of protecting the sheep in Christ’s Church, and we certainly don’t need to apologize for this. We are our brothers keeper. This love is a discriminating love, a love that cares enough for others and is not concerned with what people think of you, especially when you know that you are right from the Word.

Hanging with people who teach falsely will rub off on you, the cliché for self protection “touch not my anointed” becomes “let it be,” it is grinded into the followers and moaned by them toward those who have anything to say about their favorite teachers. One needs to hear both sides before they can make a just decision. Find the proof that what they teach is from the Bible and not from their own imagination of what they think the Bible says.

Lets look at what those who say not to judge are actually saying the Word of God states, next to what the Word of God actually says.

Those who say “Don’t judge- 1 Thess. 5:21-22 “Don’t Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”

The BIBLE-1Thess. 5:21-22 “Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”

Is it evil to test-NO it is not! We are told to test ALL things, not just pick and choose what and when to test. Now this does not mean we become the judge and jury or walk around with a critical eye on everything. It means we are to be sober and vigilant and not take for granted that everything said is the Gospel.

Those who say “Don’t judge- I John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do believe every spirit, don’t test the spirits, whether they are of God”

The BIBLE- I John 4:1-3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

“Do my prophets no harm.” Meant not to lay hands on them. False prophets were to be rejected and stoned in the Old Testament (Deut.18:20). Instead , Israel killed the true prophets (Mt.23:35-37). No one is laying hands on anyone today. The Bible tells us to judge prophets. 1 Cor. 14:29 “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.” It does not just say let only the other prophets judge, but the “others.” These others may have the gift of prophecy or those gifted in the word and Spirit. This would also relate to 1 Cor.12:10 which tells us one of the gifts of the Spirit is a discerning of spirits. (judging, determining what is from God or not). Exactly what John writes in I John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God” Here again we are told to judge, and in this case it could mean the whole congregation. The “discerning of spirits” is probably the most needed gift in the end times where Jesus said many false prophets and teachers would be around us. When there is a need God raises up a standard. As Paul continues to write “the spirit of the prophets are subject to the prophets.” This does not mean we turn over a meeting to false prophets to validate the prior false prophets that spoke. Today we have a repetition of the error of the people in Jeremiah’s time “An astonishing and horrible thing has been committed in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own power; and My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?” (Jer. 5:30-31) He asks a question that we need to answer today. What will you do?

No person is to be prevented from the right of investigating and comparing with the Bible what is said. Who would desire to prohibit the people from a full and free examination of what is said? Certainly it would not be God who tells us to judge in the Word. The guideline of testing and judging stresses the importance of truth being accepted and error being rejected. It gives accountability for what one says as a teacher to many people, this reduces the margin of error spread to the people.

Believers are not to avoid judging, just avoid judging with a final condemnation (the eternal destiny of someone). This word judge (Greek-krino) is used over 80 times in the New Testament and it means to call in question, discern, conclude, decree, and determine. The meaning does not mean to condemn in judgment; the context shows we are responsible to correctly evaluate a thing or an act. It does not mean to glean the truth and ignore the false because their good outweighs the bad. We cannot always judge someone’s motives, only God has this kind ability. We are commanded to judge what they spoke, their teachings. God is the ultimate judge on eternal life but we the church are to be keepers of the truth, to do this one must test what is said and reject falsehood.

Heb. 5:12-14 “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

The author tells us that believers who are “mature,” are those who have trained themselves to exercise judgment, to discern between good and evil through the Word, not by feelings. That is judging; those who do not judge are babes in the word. One of the ways to show you are spiritually mature is to seek out a matter on its own without being persuaded by public opinions or the status of a person. People today often trust a person’s position or fame more than the Holy Spirits discernment given in the Word. Error can only be seen as error only when it is measured against the truth. This means judging. If you accept anything everyone says because of who they are you are just a sponge that will soak up both the good and the bad equally. Then the only way we can get rid of the bad is for God to wring it out of you. That is not always a pleasant experience.

When we ignore the false we are helping the devil’s cause because the truth becomes hidden. The Devil hates the truth because it exposes anything that is false: sometimes it is well hidden. Jesus warned us that false prophets and false disciples would arise and He told us how to know the difference. When somebody says that you are judging, they are wrong, we are inspecting the fruit that comes from the tree and we are told to do so. When we decide what someone is teaching is wrong by the Word that is not our judgment but God’s. But if we decide simply by loyalty and allegiance this does not prove it is true and it becomes what Jesus called judging by appearance.

Attacks without a biblical case– without the facts proves that one is relying on their feelings and having blind loyalty. One needs to make a case from the Bible or they become guilty of the very thing they accuse others of. Proverbs tells us to hear both sides of a matter before we make a decision.

When sheep follow sheep instead of the shepherd they will reap the consequences. It’s well known that sheep are some of the dumbest animals on God’s green earth, you and I both are not as smart as we think we are. Peter quotes Isa.53 “For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls (1 Pet. 2:25). Matt. 9:36 “But when he (Jesus) saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” There are some Christians that confess Jesus as their Lord but instead of him being their shepherd they allow other men to lead them, they listen to their voice telling them what God has said. Certainly God has appointed teachers in the body of Christ, but no one is above scrutiny. Jesus said “But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:26-27). We see this in cults where what the leader of the group says becomes more important than what the Scriptures say. People listen to other men’s interpretation and what “they say God said” without ever going to Scripture to see if it is true. Lets make sure we are listening to the shepherds voice and not another’s.

What we are not to judge?
These are just a few things to think about. Col 2:16 “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths.”

We are to avoid judgment on days of worship and food lest we stumble someone. Rom 14:10-15 “But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way. I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died.” The point Paul is making is not to stumble a brother or sister by your freedom from the Old Testament law. But to allow false teaching to freely take place would be to stumble them.

Conclusion
Why do I call this movement of “do not judge” a cult? Because for the most part they follow there leaders advice and not the shepherd of their souls. They are not thinking, as the Bible tells us “to test ALL things.” Many are not being taught to think, instead they have been taught what to think. I know this may be harsh to some, but its telling it straight. When we willfully do what we are told, without our checking it out ourselves, we become like the cults. Those who do not judge teaching are actually disobeying what the Bible tells us to do. And they are telling others to do the same, sometimes by intimidation.

The early church was apologetic and polemic. They contended for the faith to those outside and had to do the same inside. If we do not take up this same attitude that is clearly presented in the Scriptures, we will be leavened beyond belief. Many of us see this as a very dangerous trend going on inside the Church. It needs to stop and we need to get back to what the Bible actually says.

2 John 10-11: “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed. For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” It may not say the word judge or test but its obvious one must do so to know there is a difference in doctrine. And it is in this “spirit of the text” many other Scriptures are written. Paul writes to Titus about the insubordinate, idle talkers and deceivers “Wherefore rebuke them sharply that they may be sound in the faith” (Titus 1:13).

Jesus commended those who judged to arrive at the truth, “I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false” (Revelation 2:2). All the apostles approved judging those who claimed leadership positions.

Paul wrote Timothy who was new to the ministry “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry” (2 Tim. 4:1-5).

What afflictions is he talking about? Those who came against Timothy in doing things that are required of God. What things? Convincing, rebuking, and exhorting those who have turned from the truth, God’s word.. If you are one who has learned to discern truth from error, continue to do so, don’t be intimidated. If you have been called to be a watchman and God has given you discernment, use it and don’t let anyone discourage or threaten you, fulfill your ministry.

Is Bishop Thomas Weeks III A Wife Beater? We Know He’s A Heretic!

Posted by Job on August 23, 2007

Read: When They Pierced His Side: The Blood And Water Of Jesus Christ

From IndependentConservative: Thomas Weeks Beats Juanita Bynum in Atlanta Airport Hotel Parking Lot. Mercy! and also I Knew Thomas Weeks Was a Heretic, But He Has Surpassed My Expectations of How Terrible a Heretic He Really is!. From the Atlanta Journal – Constitution (in my opinion the worst newspaper in the country, but hey it keeps winning Pulitzer Prizes) Husband attacks evangelist Bynum in parking lot. Please note that it says 1. Bynum and Weeks are SEPARATED (so why attend their marriage conferences since THEY ARE BOTH IN THEIR SECOND MARRIAGE ANYWAY!) and 2. Weeks beat Bynum so badly that she required a trip to the hospital and 3. Weeks fled the scene before the police could get him. Now can anyone deny that evil spirits are not involved here? All of you people who have been flooding this weblog with your defense of this couple, their members, and their friends in the religion industry (a great many of whom KNOW what this couple are really like), what do you have to say now?

Does this vindicate everything that I have been saying against Weeks III and Bynum? Actually, no it doesn’t. Why not? Because everyone sins. David committed adultery and then murdered “the other man.” Peter denied Jesus Christ three times, and then almost caused the church to split apart with his refusal to have table fellowship with Gentile Christians. Christians are going to sin (see my essay When Christians Sin)! How do I know this? BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO!

So the issue here is NOT the sin of Bishop Weeks III beating his wife. Rather, the real issue is the false doctrine of unitarianism (denial of Trinity) that Weeks and Bynum preaches, their false prosperity doctrine, and their getting rich off the gospel by exploiting and making merchandise of the poor. The worst part is that Weeks III (and his father Bishop Weeks II) and Bynum preach an abiblical doctrine of legalism and works that they themselves do not keep!

And some have asked, as did the sincere Pastor Anavah(http://www.victoriouslyfree.org/ plus her own weblog click here) in her comment whether I am against women preachers and enjoyable sex in marriage. Regarding the former, the Bible specifically forbids women having a position of authority over men in the church, and that is a consistent principle established in Old Testament Judaism and carrying over to the New Testament Body of Christ. If Pastor Anavah executes her ministry in a manner that respects the authority of God and the Bible (and not of any man) and is doctrinally sound and faithful to the Bible while doing so then who am I to condemn her calling and work? God forbid that I would do such a thing lest I be condemned myself on account of my false accusation, just as the friends of Job were! Yes, it is possible to minister while not having a position of authority over a man, and writing and distributing her book on spiritual warfare in fighting addiction (which can be ordered on her site) and maintaining a Christian website are excellent examples of how to do so. There are others, and I have tried to list them in my women preachers category, my favorite of which are women in India that converted to Christianity from Hinduism working as evangelists preaching the gospel in a society and culture that treats women quite shamefully and also persecutes Christians (see Women Preachers Working In The Asian Mission Field and Christian Persecution Alert: Female Indonesian Evangelists Released). And no, I am not against enjoyable sex in marriage. Quite the contrary, sexuality is a gift from God – and a spiritual one at that – that was given to be enjoyed by men and women within the confines of holy matrimony. But as false preachers tend to do, Weeks III and Bynum have taken a pure holy God – given gift and utterly defiled it with their false doctrines and own personal perversions, making it something base and wretched. Look at this clip where Weeks III asks this man to name the part of his wife’s anatomy that pleases him the most (a corrupt base view of sexuality; Jesus Christ called this pornea – the root word of pornography – and in Matthew 5:32 listed such evil as legitimate grounds for divorce), and when he gives a predictable response, Weeks III breaks out into uncontrollable laughter!

Strange laughter is a clear sign of demonic presence and activity, and though I am a charismatic with a Pentecostal background, we cannot ignore what many other Bible believing Christians have to say about some of our charismatic “laughing revivals!”

Make no mistake people, there is a statistically proven link between pornea (or pornography) and violence (including spousal and domestic abuse), there are demons involved in pornea and violence, and now you have Thomas Weeks III beating his estranged wife! So I ask you spiritual warfare deliverance minister Pastor Anavah, how on earth could you not know this? Your very position requires you to know it and to preach and teach against it, and not to defend the oneness heretics that exploit the poor trafficking their sexual drugs for financial gain! For I, Pastor Anavah, am not an ordained minister and nor do I hold any church position! This is something that you should be taking me aside and educating me on as did Priscilla to Apollos in Acts 18:24-26! So Pastor Anavah, rather than coming on here defending heresy, you need to be faithfully and zealously pursuing the call that God has put on your life! Monitor and multiply the talents that God has given you charge over lest He take them from you and give them to another, for the closing verse of the parable of the talents, Matthew 25:29, reads “For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.”

And this is not a personal attack on Pastor Anavah, who indeed seems to be someone sincerely seeking to serve to God. She represents all of you! God gave every member of the Body of Christ a work to do, a charge to keep, a ministry to fulfill, even if you are as I: not someone who holds a five fold ministry position or church office. You have read the warnings given to the churches in Revelation 2 and 3, and if you have not, please read them now! For it is not just about the false preachers. Judgment day is coming, and we will be held accountable: me and ALL OF YOU!

And this is to all of you people who keep claiming how we need unity in the Body of Christ. See this link and understand why I REFUSE TO UNITE WITH HERETICS! LIGHT HAS NO UNITY WITH DARKNESS!

And in closing, here is the news report of Bynum’s being beaten, courtesy of IndependentConservative: . I will point out, in the interests of fairness, that Bishop Weeks III has not had a chance to address these charges, let alone be convicted in a court of law of them, and some have alleged that there is something amiss about this whole affair. Well you can decide for yourself about the domestic violence accusations against the man, but in terms of his heresies and blasphemies, well his own words (and actions in other matters) condemn this oneness false preacher.

As I have said time and time again, there is a war going on. Now is the time for hand to hand spiritual combat, not lukewarm sitting on the sidelines. If you are not saved, follow The Three Step Salvation Plan and get saved. If you claim salvation but have no desire to fight, now is the time to study the scriptures (try http://bible.cc) and examine yourself to see whether you be truly in the faith!

TD Jakes Made Paula White A Star So She Bought Him A Bentley

Posted by Job on August 3, 2007

Update: see Paula White Claims That Jesus Christ Died In Vain!

http://www.religionnewsblog.com/18784/paula-white-5

“Her career got a megaboost when she met Bishop T.D. Jakes, pastor of the Dallas megachurch, the Potter’s House. Jakes, who is black, helped catapult White to superstardom – particularly among black women – when he invited her to speak at his Woman Thou Art Loosed Conference in 2000. She launched her television ministry a year later. Today, White is one of the most popular preachers on Black Entertainment Television and appears on several other networks including Spike TV and Trinity BroadcastingThe ministries took in $39.9 million in 2006, according to an audit of Without Walls and Paula White Ministries released in June by an independent Clearwater accounting firm. About $28.6 million helped promote the church’s programs, conferences and outreach efforts, the audit said. Other expenses covered management and fundraising. White’s salary was not detailed, but her publicist says she has multiple streams of income outside the ministry. And for his 50th birthday in June, White sent Jakes a black convertible Bentley. It was intended to be a quiet gift, White said, but an overzealous member of Jakes’ ministry shouted out the news at the retail show. “Some people thought ‘Why would you do that?’ ” White later explained, saying that Jakes is her spiritual father. “I thought, ‘Well, why wouldn’t I?’ That’s not even an option.””

As far as the “Well, why wouldn’t I?” question, Paula White has clearly forgotten Proverb 22:6, which says “He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.” We are supposed to GIVE FOOD, CLOTHING, SHELTER, MEDICINE, LEGAL AND POLITICAL ADVOCACY, AND THE GOSPEL to the poor, not Bentleys to the rich. Then again, White’s sex and glamor driven “ministry” is so unscriptural that Proverb 22:6 is just one of many things that she ignores.

When A Loved One Refuses To Submit To Jesus Christ And Is On Their Way To The Lake Of Fire

***CRITICAL MESSAGE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF LIVEPRAYER!  If you missed Monday’s critical message about the direction of Liveprayer, please take a few minutes to read and pray over this message: http://liveprayer.com/dd071607.cfm

***MORMON UPDATE!  So, people thought I was crazy when I said “A vote for
Romney is a vote for satan!”  They thought my logic of having a member of
the satanic Mormon cult as President wouldn’t draw people to their cult.  Oh
really?  Do you think it is a coincidence that PBS recently aired, “A
September Dawn,” a supposed historical look at Mormons which was nothing but
pure propaganda for this cult.  This fall there is another supposed
documentary coming out, “A Mormon President,” the latest puff piece to
brainwash people about this cult.  Romney is scheduled very soon to deliver
what has been labeled a “Kennedy-esque” defense of “his faith.”  The Mormon
cult has unleashed a wave of brand new TV advertisements geared to take
advantage of the attention they are getting from Romney’s candidacy.  The
head of the Mormon’s chief apologetics website, FAIR, recently used my
public comments exposing this cult as the work of satan it is in their
latest fundraising effort to their constituency.  Young Mormon men on
bicycles are knocking on the doors of America identifying themselves as
representing “Mitt Romney’s church.”

Meanwhile, the secular media is scared to death to challenge Romney and this
cult’s false beliefs for many reasons.  No my friend, make no mistake about
it, this multi-billion dollar, media savvy, well run cult based in Salt Lake
City is in full attack mode to try and fulfill their founder Joseph Smith’s
prophecy of having a Mormon President to “rescue the Constitution,” at the
same time luring millions of people into their cult by deceiving them that
they are Christians.  Mormon theology is 100% inconsistent with Biblical
Christianity.  The god and jesus of Mormonism is NOT the God and Jesus of
the Bible!   A Mormon is no more a Christian than a Muslim is, and that is
why those who get caught up in this cult will die and go to hell.

***TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL IS ON THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE THERE IS, HOW TO BE SAVED!  THIS IS A MESSAGE THAT YOU NEED TO SHARE WITH EVERY FAMILY MEMBER, FRIEND, NEIGHBOR, CLASSMATE, CO-WORKER, PERSON YOU KNOW.  THIS EMAIL COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PERSON SPENDING ETERNITY IN THE FLAMES OF HELL OR IN THE GLORY OF HEAVEN.  PRAY AS YOU FORWARD IT, THAT HEARTS WILL BE OPEN TO RECEIVE THESE WORDS OF EVERLASTING LIFE!!!

When someone you love and care about refuses to accept the Lord.  One of the
things that makes me so sad, are the people in my family, friends of mine,
who have rejected Jesus and if they died today will spend all eternity in
hell.  God has used Liveprayer to bring over 180,000 people we know of
around the world to faith in Jesus Christ.  I have been honored for God to
use me in over 17 years of ministry to personally lead thousands of people
to faith in Jesus in almost every kind of setting you can imagine.  Despite
having the joy of seeing people every day rerouted from the conveyor belt
heading for hell to the road heading for Heaven, there are still many in my
family, many dear friends who have refused to acknowledge Christ’s love and
rejected His free gift of everlasting life.  Knowing if they die with Jesus
that they will be lost for all eternity hurts me a great deal.

I know that you also have family members, friends, those people in your life
who are lost and living without the Lord.  I get the desperate emails every
day from people who are distraught that a family member or friend is lost
and asking me how they can save them.  The one thing I have to remind myself
each day and that you need to understand is that we can’t save anyone.
Getting saved, being born again, is an act of faith each person has to
choose to do for themselves.  I can’t do it for them.  You can’t do it for
them.  Their pastor can’t do it for them.  Accepting Jesus into your heart
and life is an act of faith each person has to decide to do for themselves.
It is a choice they and they alone have to make.

What we can do and are commanded to do is to tell them HOW they can be
saved.  We are all called to share with those people in our lives the hope
we have in Christ.  After you share the Gospel with a person, at that point
all you can do is pray for them to open their heart to Christ’s love and to
make that decision to invite Him into their life by faith.  There is nothing
wrong with having that conversation with them over and over, since you never
know when they might be at a place in their life when they are finally ready
to listen.  Again, the key is prayer since they have to be willing to open
their heart to hear about Christ’s love for them, at which point it is the
Holy Spirit who brings them under conviction and to that place of surrender.
We are simply God’s human instrument, one link in a long chain of people
along the way God uses to bring a person to give their lives to Jesus.

Of everything I discuss with you each day, the most important subject there
is is salvation. I want to use this time today to clarify for many out there
who will be in Heaven. It drives me crazy to hear gutless pastors, especially in the media, say that we don’t know who will be in Heaven.  THAT IS NOT TRUE SINCE GOD TOLD US CLEARLY IN HIS WORD WHO WOULD AND WHO WOULD NOT BE IN HEAVEN!!!  The salvation equation is very simple. It is: by God’s grace, our faith, plus NOTHING. There is only ONE way to Heaven…a personal faith in Jesus Christ by faith. There is only ONE road to Heaven. That means that the type of church you belong to will not get you into Heaven, no amount of good works will get you into Heaven, you can’t buy your way into Heaven…the only way to Heaven is through a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ. That is God’s plan as He clearly lays out it in the Bible.

The church is a place where people should be able to find a personal
relationship with Christ, a place of fellowship, a place to be fed
spiritually, a place where people can use their talents to serve God.
Membership in a church WILL NOT get you into Heaven when you die. There are
many people who go through life doing wonderful things, helping people, and
living good lives. There are no amount of good works you can do in this
lifetime to eliminate the sin we were all born with and the ones we commit
each day. Being a good person WILL NOT get you into Heaven when you die
since the Bible clearly tells us, “That there is none that are good, no not
one.”

There is only one way to get to Heaven, and that is through a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ by faith!!!

My friend, the message I want you to understand today is that God has made a
simple way for His fallen children to be reconciled back into an everlasting
relationship. Many have tried to complicate the issue of salvation. It is
actually very simple. Recognize that you are a sinner. Repent, turn away
from your sins, and ask God to forgive you. Accept by faith Jesus Christ
into your heart and surrender your life to Him.

Why Jesus? Because in God’s plan, it was His sacrifice that paid for our
sins. That is why there are no amount of good works, no amount of money,
nothing you can do on your own because He already paid the price. Some feel
baptism is part of the salvation experience, but baptism is simply an
outward sign of the inward work of salvation.  It is an act of identifying
your life with Christ AFTER you are saved.   In essence, baptism would be a
“work” and today’s scripture clearly tells us that salvation is by grace,
through faith, and NOT of works.

Some ask about those who accept Christ on their deathbed, and how unfair it
is for them to go to Heaven after a life of sin and rebellion. First of all,
in perspective, this life is but a “vapor”, as the Bible calls it, in
comparison with eternity. You have to remember that those who rebelled
during their life and come to Christ at the end, missed the joy, peace, and
blessings of this life, and must have suffered greatly on the inside living
apart from God during those years on earth. The important fact is, that like
you and me they are sinners who are saved by God’s grace.

Many ask if you can lose your salvation. I am not going to get into the
age-old theological debate of “once saved always saved.”  Part of the
salvation equation is God’s grace. To lose your salvation means that God
would withdraw His grace. I have never been able to find any place in the
Bible that says God will withdraw His grace, and of course the question
becomes, at what point would He? The Bible teaches that if you make a
sincere commitment to Christ by faith you are saved.  Only God knows for
certain if a person has done this or not. If you rebel, you lose the
blessings, the peace, and the joy. The prodigal son never stopped being His
father’s son, but lost out on the blessings of living in submission to his
father, and endured much pain and heartache for rebelling. The bottom line
is if you follow Christ you will never have to worry about losing your
salvation.

I love you and care about you deeply.  It pains me to know that there are
people in my family, dear friends, who if they died this moment would be
lost and spend eternity in hell.  I have done my best to share the Gospel
message with each of them, done my best to let them know how much Jesus
loves them, but they have refused to surrender their hearts and lives to the
Lord.  While satan lies to me and tells me I am a failure for members of my
family and dear friends not accepting the Lord, the truth is, it is a choice
I can’t make for them, they have to make it for themselves.  All I can do,
all you can do, is tell them how to be saved and pray for them to make that
choice.

I pray that this word today helps many of you clarify in your mind and heart
the most important issue of our life, determining where we will spend
eternity. If you are reading this today and do not have the assurance that
you will spend eternity in Heaven, or you have never accepted by faith Jesus
Christ into your life, than let me encourage you to do it today. The Bible
tells us that TODAY is the day of salvation. Don’t wait another minute since
tomorrow is promised to none of us!

Ask God to open your heart to His truth and love, than take a few minutes
and go http://www.liveprayer.com/bdy_salvatn.cfm  .  Watch this short video
on salvation, read the words, then as the Holy Spirit brings you under
conviction, pray the special prayer to accept  by faith, Jesus Christ into
your heart as your Lord and Savior. Email me and let me know you have
accepted Christ into your heart, and I will be happy to send you at no
charge some special information to help you in your new-found relationship
with Christ.

James Dobson: Do Not Vote For McCain Or Giuliani But Romney Is Still On The List!

Posted by Job on July 18, 2007

Now I can see his problem with pro – homosexual pro – abortion Rudy Giuliani (though it is fair to point out that Mitt Romney had those same positions until, oh, yesterday). But what does he have against McCain? You know the answer to that, don’t you? GOP party politics. Dobson would rather have a Mormon with no record of social conservatism in his political or business or philanthropic career (no huge donations to Operation Save America from that private fortune of his) than a Christian (yes, McCain is a Christian, though not fundamentalist or evangelical) with a long socially conservative voting record (McCain did not vote for the gay marriage amendment, but in doing so his position was no different from that of George Bush or Dick Cheney … Bush only gave lukewarm transparent vocal support to the amendment when it was made clear to him that he would lose re – election in 2004 without it). Why? Because McCain ran against Bush and bucked the GOP party line. Even with McCain’s turn left in recent years and Romney’s turn right in the past few minutes, Romney’s record is still far to the left of McCain’s … remember that healthcare bill that he signed? This proves that Dobson when you get down to it is just another establishment GOP party hack. Oh yes, and let us not forget about the faith – based money: Romney doled out tons of taxpayer dollars to religious groups during his tenure. McCain, despite his brief strange association with the self – deluded and now disillusioned Gary Bauer (another religious right guy who accepted money from Syung Moon), opposes that sort of thing. Money: faith based programs, some of which would no doubt flow to Dobson’s many interests, and that was the also the same reason why Pat Robertson backed Bush and why he is also backing Romney, a person who believes in this (see link) and calls himself a Christian. Power: control over the GOP. That is what it is all about people: mammon.

James Dobson Supports Harry Potter And Mormon Mitt Romney

Posted by Job on July 18, 2007

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/17/AR2007071702182_2.html?hpid=topnews

Here is a better link: Click On Harry Potter Occult Or Not From ChristianPost.com

Another: http://www.seekgod.ca/imagination1.htm

And another still: http://www.cuttingedge.org/news/n1383.cfm

The Catholic – evangelical – charismatic ecumenical journal Christianity Today endorsed Harry Potter because of the Catholic imagery in it. See Christianity Today’s Defense Of Harry Potter here. The heavily Catholic (and often fundamentalist – bashing) National Review expressed similar sentiments. (I know that not all Catholics like Harry Potter, just working towards a bigger point.)  And so you have the political ecumenist James Dobson having strong ties to Rome: http://www.christianissues.com/rome.html

And you see the political ecumenism of the religious right knows no bounds: Dobson may endorse Mormon Mitt Romney for President: James Dobson is Very Likely to Endorse Cult Member Mormon Mitt Romney for President, but Won’t Admit it Yet! Which is a reason why the Washington Post is able to slip a reference to the Mormon author in a post about Christian writers and get away with it (this link explains why we should not tolerate anyone calling Mormons Christian) . Once upon a time, Christian watchdog groups like Dobson’s would have been the first to complain, but now Dobson, Robertson, and the rest of their ilk are part of the problem. What is my main point? Like Independent Conservative said in Patriotic Ecumenicalism Versus Christianity, Christian political ecumenism is wrong, needs to be stopped and opposed.
