I must ask: have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? If not, follow this link: The Three Step Salvation Plan
So here you have a woman raised in and representing Pentecostal/charismatic Christianity speaking at a fundraiser to support the ambitions of one such as Obama who supports abortion, homosexuality, and a number of other abominations? At an event hosted by the best known proponent of the New Age false religion in America (yes, Barbra Streisand, Oprah has surpassed you, and what makes her worse than you is that Oprah promotes mixing New Age and Christianity … after all, she and Barack Obama are both members of the same “church”)? See Is Oprah Winfrey’s New Age “The Secret” The Same As Word – Faith Prosperity? It just shows you that the Bible is true yet again: Amos 3:3 says “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?“ So you supporters of Juanita Bynum and all of these other false preachers when there are so many good hard working legitimate preachers out there … who are YOU walking in agreement with? I will say this: someone who thinks so little of you that they are so bold enough to lie to you on worldwide CHRISTIAN television while knowing full well that her lies will be exposed: Juanita Bynum Lies On TBN! Oh yes, and how that “Christian” TV station TBN just sat back and allowed her to lie like that unchallenged because she is one of their top moneymakers? It is time to stop walking in agreement too. We really do need to consider contacting the legitimate ministries that appear on this network and urge them to stop giving legitimacy – and money – to these people. You would have hoped that they would have done so after Paul Crouch personally endorsed Jeremiah Cummings‘ heretical dual covenant theology: that Islam is just as legitimate as Christianity, but maybe they need some action by the rank and file faithful first. What do you think? And do you think that contacting the legitimate preachers on TBN to ask them to disassociate themselves from these evil people would be effective or worthwhile?

Intimidated into silence! This coming Friday, Liveprayer will be 8 years
old. Every day since Liveprayer started, I have produced a Daily
Devotional. Other than about a dozen from the first few months, every Daily
Devotional I have written can be found in our “Devotional Archives” on the
Liveprayer.com website. Eight years, 96 months of writings. An historical
record of what I have said. That is important since from the very beginning
I have telling my readers that because we have abandoned the marketplace,
have quit reaching out to the lost and hurting masses outside of the 4 walls
of the church, the opportunity to use the same secular media vehicles the
world uses to propagate the lies of satan that lead men’s souls to hell,
will soon be impossible for Christians to use to bring people God’s Truth
and the hope of Jesus Christ! The very small window that was left is now
virtually closed and will never be reopened!
The secular networks will never support and endorse any program that is
preaching the pure Truth of the Bible, bringing a Biblical worldview to
their viewers. They do, however, fill their programming with every kind of
sin you can imagine and clearly support a view of the world and life in
complete rebellion to the Bible and the Christian Faith. Of course, they
are in the entertainment business, not the ministry. However, the
entertainment they feed on their airwaves has a foundation of sin and
rebellion to God, His Truth, and a faith in Jesus Christ. They are open to
dealing with “spiritual issues,” but from a New Age viewpoint, not from the
Bible. The only way to access their airwaves is to buy time in those few
hours a day they designate for PAID PROGRAMMING, which is usually sold to
The few Christian programs that do pay to be on secular stations usually buy
time on Sunday morning or between 2am-6am to troll for Christian viewers.
These programs are the exact same programs these ministries air on Christian
television, geared strictly for a Christian audience except for local
churches who broadcast their Sunday morning worship service. When I started
the Liveprayer TV program I knew to attract a non-Christian audience it had
to be a different type of program from the standard preaching/teaching
programs, geared to non-Christians, and have a similar feel to the secular
programs it would compete against without compromising the Truth of the
Thus was birthed the Liveprayer TV program back on March 3, 2003 on the CBS
owned UPN (now CW) affiliate in Tampa, Florida, the #!2 TV market in the
nation. “Live” every Monday thru Friday from 1-2 a.m. following the last
network program. I would simply deal with the current issues in the world
and people’s lives from a Biblical worldview, take calls from the viewers to
debate them, answer their questions, counsel or pray for them, and just love
people who were hurting, struggling with life, and give them a word of
encouragement and the greatest gift of all…hope!
As of last Friday, for 1,170 nights, except for 2 nights when the studio was
closed due to the hurricanes we had in 2005, and 2 nights I was out of town
and couldn’t get back due to weather, I have been in my chair to share God’s
Truth with the viewers and minister to them. In addition to being on the
CBS owned station all that time, for 52 weeks (July 2005-June 2006) the
program was up on satellite and also seen live on the ABC owned stations in
Miami, West Palm Beach, and Jacksonville, and the WB affiliate in Ft. Myers.
For 10 weeks in 2006 the program was also seen nationwide on the “i”
During this time, millions of people across the nation and around the world
via the Liveprayer.com website have seen the program. Over 10,000 people we
know of have made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as their personal
Savior by faith. We have taken over 12,000 phone calls from viewers,
responded to over 3 1/2 million emails for prayer, and have over 30,000
praise reports archived from people who took the time to emails us back and
tell us how God moved in their life. What we have done is use the secular
media to bring the unadulterated Truth of God’s Word into people’s lives who
for the most part don’t go to church, don’t read the Bible, aren’t
Christians, and see their lives transformed by the power of God. The hunger
is out there, but so are those who hate God, reject the Bible as Truth,
don’t believe in Jesus, and want to silence the Truth from being told!
You can only imagine the outrage by people who are in bondage to a sin like
homosexuality when I had the audacity to share that the Bible calls their
choice a sin. You can only imagine the outrage by people who have chosen to
put their faith in the false gods of the world, follow the cults and false
religions that are out there, when I had the audacity to look them in the
eye and tell them they are following a lie to the fires of hell. You can
only imagine the outrage by people who don’t want to be held accountable by
God or anyone, when I would sit there night after night and tell them that
Absolute Truth does exist and that they are free to believe and do whatever
they want, but there will be consequences for their choices. Forty years
ago, there would not have been the outrage from someone preaching a
Biblically based message. There is today!
Each night we get many hateful emails, every month several death threats are
received by email, letter and phone. The drive to take this program off the
air started virtually after the first program and has never stopped. For
CBS, we were a paying client. We pay them nearly $400,000 a year in air
time and product costs. The station managers over the years took the
position that we had what some considered “controversial content,” but so
did many programs and that is why they put up the disclaimers before and
after our telecast. Liveprayer was a good customer and the people who
didn’t like the program didn’t have to watch. They also knew that I was a
broadcast professional and that I would never do anything to violate FCC
regulations and that we did tremendous good in the community and in many
lives through the program.
More vocal than even the numerous homosexual groups, Scientologists,
Mormons, and atheists who have been trying to take us off was CAIR, the
Council on American Islamic Relations. CAIR, who is currently listed as an
unindicted co-conspirator in a Dallas trial involving a terrorist fund
raising operation, is viewed by much of the mainstream media as a Muslim
version of the American Civil Liberties Union instead of the face of the
radical Islamic movement that it has been proven to be since its inception
here in the United States. CAIR believes that free speech ends when
someone tells the truth about Islam. Sadly, CBS caved into the intimidation
tactics by CAIR and told us they would be taking our program off the air on
September 11th. 9/11, an interesting date. You can read more about this
radical Islamic group at: http://www.anti-cair-net.org/
However, God always has a ram in the bush. Six months ago, we had begun
developing a new morning program on a competing network in the Tampa market
to reach that “morning prime” audience. The program would be a bit
different, since it would feature secular guests each morning from the local
Tampa Bay community. People from the area attractions, restaurants, sports
teams, business and political communities, to deal with the issues in this
area. That would help us to attract a more secular audience which would
also be hearing the news and events in the world from a Biblical worldview.
We would continue to take some phone calls each day, counsel people, and
share with the audience the Truth of God’s Word and the hope we have in
Over this past weekend, I pressed for a meeting to see if we could salvage
the program. Out of love and concern for the thousands of people who depend
on the Liveprayer program to be there each night, I met with management
Monday morning, but it was clear the content of the program would be an
ongoing issue for them. So even though we could stay on CBS until 9/11, we
chose to have our final program on Friday, August 31, the 8 year anniversary
of Liveprayer, and will debut the new morning program “Liveprayer AM,” the
following Monday at 7:30 a.m. ISN’T GOD GOOD!!!
I love you and care about you so much. My message for you today is simply
this. Don’t ever let anyone or anything silence you from telling people the
Truth. The Truth of God’s Word is all we have. It is our only message. I
realize that we will not have much longer before there won’t be any secular
venues left to bring forth the Gospel, but as long as there is one, I will
be there. The better percentage of two full generations don’t go to church,
don’t read the Bible, and unless they come to know Jesus as their Savior
will die and go to hell. WE MUST REACH THESE PEOPLE, AND TO DO THAT, WE
HAVE TO INVADE THEIR LIVES WHERE THEY LIVE!!!
Towards that end, we still have a small window to get the night program back
on nationwide on the “i” Network. I have an option that expires this Friday
to be back on Monday, October 1, “live” every Monday-Friday from Midnight -1
a.m. EDT reaching 90 million of the 100 million TV households in the nation.
I told you last year how critical it was to get the program on and keep it
on, since once the window closes it will be closed for good. We are
feverishly working on several situations to make that happen, so please
pray. We need $3 million to cover our first 3 months on the air, after
that, we have our in-house sales team now in place that can secure enough
advertising to keep the program going long term. If God is speaking to you
about this, contact me and let’s chat. There isn’t much time left to be
able to bring a true Biblical message to the marketplace using the secular
media, we must take advantage of the time we do have. THE ETERNAL SOULS OF
PEOPLE, YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE AT STAKE!!!
Thank you for all of your love and prayers, for your concern, and for your
support. It has been a wild few weeks, with several more ahead, but God is
good. I told my attorney the other night that CBS by cowering to CAIR might
have just helped execute me. The international wire services are reporting
that I am some anti-Muslim extremist who is inciting violence against
Muslims. This has caused a rash of death threats and no doubt, made me a
marked man in the Muslim world. The sad reality is, I am only interested in
saving their souls, it is Islam that is about killing those who oppose them.
But God is good and I will keep pressing on towards the prize. I know where
my home is and I also know that as long as God has work for me to do He will
have his legions watching over me.
Tomorrow is promised to none of us. Every second someone is dying and going
to hell, someone that could have been saved if they had been told about
Jesus and His love for them. That is what drives me each second of each
day, to keep telling all that I can about our wonderful Savior who loves
them, died for their sins, so that they could be forgiven and have the
assurance of heaven. That is the Gospel message and we can’t let ourselves
be intimidated into silence!
Many people ask me why I keep fighting so hard each day, go through all I do
each day. Some get upset that I ask people to support God’s work here. I
don’t play mind games with you, I don’t take passages of the Bible out of
context to try and manipulate you. I don’t bribe you with gifts to send
Liveprayer money. I simply tell you what our needs are and ask you to pray
about helping me to do the work God has called us to do. Not everyone is
called to be physically on the front lines like I am. Some go to the front
lines through their prayers and through their giving. A war can’t be fought
without money and some are called to help finance the war! The reason I put
myself out there, the reason I beg you to help me, is because of people who
send me emails like this:
“Dear Pastor Bill, Without your inspiration and constant presence in my life
over the past two years, I have no doubt that I would NEVER have developed
the frame of mind or sense of hope and optimism to even try to get out of
bed and function again. In addition to the thyroid cancer you know about, I
was struck by lightning in 1988 and it severely damaged my nervous system
and broke my spine completely. It is a miracle I can walk at all! Last
year I had three small heart attacks followed by strokes, and now I have
been diagnosed with COPD and emphysema. Given all that plus a 60 mile an
hour motorcycle accident and 4 serious car accidents over the past 20 years,
I truly believe you when you say that God still has work for me to do.
Otherwise I would simply have died. I had given up any thought of ever
being a “productive” member of society again, considering that magnitude of
physical and mental adversities I was faced with. But you inspired me to
keep going, to get out of bed and try to walk tall in the light of the day
again. I can never thank you enough!”
In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

“You shall have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3
The God of the Bible is NOT the same as “allah” of Islam!!! Today, I need
to dispel the colossal error so many, including our President, make in
thinking that God, THE CREATOR, the God of the Bible, is the same as “allah”
of the false religion of Islam. Let me insure you understand something at
the very start. There is only one God and that is the God of the Bible.
“Allah,” is actually the imaginary god created out of the deranged mind of
Mohammed when he dreamed up this false religion we know of as Islam 1400
years ago. Allah is nothing but a poor imitation and rip-off of THE GOD and
is no more real than Harry Potter is!!! When you study the attributes of
the God of the Bible and of allah, it is clear and obvious these are NOT the
Sadly, a Catholic bishop in the Netherlands is asking churches in that
country to use the name allah for God to “ease tensions between Muslims and
Christians.” You have go to be kidding me!!! I expect this type of foolish
thinking from politicians and people of the world, but from a priest? I
have a better idea for this dear bishop. Why not tell Muslims to start
using the name God for allah since God is real and allah is not!!! Let me
help educate this bishop about Islam. Tensions will never be eased between
Muslims and Christians since they consider Christians infidels and are
commanded in the book Mohammed wrote to kill all infidels! Islam is not
interested in easing tensions, it is about death to all who refuse to
believe Mohammed’s fantasies!
WorldNet Daily recently reported, “An international ministry organization
reaching out to Christians in Iraq is confirming the pressure from Muslims
on Christians to abandon their faith or their homes is rising, with videos
of actual beheadings used to threaten believers.” A San Francisco reporter
was recently gunned down and murdered outside of his home for his negative
stories on a Muslim bakery in that city. The Muslim activist group with
ties to terror groups CAIR, Council on American-Islamic Relations, has been
relentlessly attacking Liveprayer. They have been doing everything they can
to get us off the Internet and television since we have the audacity to tell
the truth that Islam is a false religion about hate and death and those who
follow their lies will die and go to hell unless they repent and turn to
Forty years ago, there would have been no need to even write a Devotional
like this. Not only does the need exist for me to have to address this issue
today, but it is a message that the world AND the church needs to hear. You
see my friend, there is only ONE GOD, and that is the God of the Bible. The
God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. When we pray, there is only ONE GOD that
we pray to, the God of the Bible. All other gods are false gods. Praying to
a false god is as productive as praying to a tree, your refrigerator, or a
toilet. There is only ONE GOD that hears and answers our prayers, and that
is the God who Created the heavens and earth, the God who Created you and
me, the God of the Bible.
It is critical that when we are talking with someone and use the name “God,”
we call Him the “God of the Bible.” That way, there will not be any
confusion to those we are talking to, who you are talking about. Because we
are a nation where people are free to worship whatever god they want, and
with the influx in the past 100 years of people from every corner of the
globe who have brought their false gods with them , not to mention the
aggressive marketing and recruiting campaigns by every cult known to the
world, simply saying, “God,” is not good enough. That is why you need to
start making it a practice in your day-to-day conversation to call God, the
God of the Bible.
I am aware of the various names that the Bible calls God by, but there are
many false religions in the world that use all of the various names we have
for God. There is no way to say, “God,” and be 100% positive everyone
understands which god you are speaking about unless you call Him the GOD OF
THE BIBLE. Also, when you hear someone use the name God, DO NOT just assume
they are talking about the God of the Bible!
Let me make this perfectly clear. Allah is NOT God! Buddha is NOT God! The
god of the Mormon cult is NOT God! The god of the Jehovah’s Witness cult is
NOT God! The god of the Kabbalh cult is NOT God! The god of the Hindu is NOT
God! The god of Scientology is NOT God! The god of the Christian Science
cult is NOT God! All of the gods of the false religions of the world are NOT
God! My friend, there is but ONE GOD, He is the GOD OF THE BIBLE!
I want to expose, for you right now, one of the politically-correct traps
that many Christians have fallen into, and it needs to stop now. It is a
subtle trap of satan that they have fallen into so they don’t offend anyone.
I think it is comical that satan has no problem offending Christians every
moment of every day, yet we are supposed to be sensitive to people’s
“feelings.” Let me tell you right now, if you are REALLY sensitive to people
‘s feelings, you will tell them the truth of God’s Word so that they don’t
perish for eternity.
Many high-profile Christians who talk to large audiences of Christians and
non-Christians, those in the public arena, will use the name of God. I have
no doubt they are speaking of the God of the Bible. I have no doubt that
their Christian listeners understand they are referring to the God of the
Bible. But I also have no doubt that those non-Christians hear the name God
and believe it to be whatever false god thy may believe in. I can guarantee
you when a Muslim hears the name, “God,” he is thinking of allah. Allah is
no more the God of the Bible than Mickey Mouse is. They are both fictional
characters! I can guarantee you that when a Mormon hears the name, “God,” he
is thinking of the god of Mormon theology. The god of the Mormon cult is no
more the God of the Bible than Jesus and Lucifer are brothers as that cult
I love you and care about you so much. I realize that while we have been
sleeping and not paying attention, we now have laws that take the God of the
Bible out of the public discourse. They have taken God out of the schools,
removed Him from all public buildings, are trying to take His name out of
the Pledge, working on removing Him from our money, and will continue to do
everything they can to eliminate God. Now more than ever, those who know the
God of the Bible must do everything we can to insure that HIS name is
clearly identified and boldly proclaimed to this lost world since He is the
only hope we have.
I will be praying for you today. Praying that when you say the name God, you
identify Him as the God of the Bible so that those who hear you will have no
doubt who you are talking about. In this lost and hurting world there are
many false gods, but there is only ONE TRUE GOD. That is the God of Abraham,
Isaac, and Jacob, the God who created the heavens and the earth. When we
pray, there is only ONE GOD to pray to who hears and answers our prayers,
that is the God of the Bible!!!

(Original link here, with its utterly leading headline from this New York Times – owned media outlet.) CAIRO, Egypt: Egyptian authorities have detained two Coptic Christian activists suspected of posting anti-Islamic messages on a Christian web site, a police official and the lawyer for the two said Thursday. State security officers stormed the homes of Adel Fawzy and Peter Ezzat in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, arresting the two on Wednesday and seizing documents and computers, said the police official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media. Fawzy and Ezzat are the founders of the Cairo branch of the Middle East Christian Association, known as MECA, a Canada-based group that advocates Christians rights. Police did not specify which postings had led to the arrest of the two.
Fawzy and Ezzat were expected to face the state prosecutor on Thursday, the police official added. Their lawyer, Mamdouh Nakhleh, said the two worked as a reporter and photographer for the Canada-based organization. He said he believed they would face a hearing as early as Saturday, after the Friday Muslim day of rest.
No charges have been filed yet, Nakhleh told The Associated Press, adding that the two were arrested for “posting stuff without permission.” The authorities allege that they were promoting “deviated Quranic verses and criticism of Islam,” he said.
“I will try to hasten their case before the prosecutor … so they two will not be subjected to any sort of torture or be forced to give any statement that could be harmful in their case,” Nakhleh said.
Cases of torture of suspects inside Egyptian police stations and state security detention centers have drawn much attention after several incidents of police brutality were published on blogs and in local media over the past year.
Meanwhile, a statement on MECA’s Web site said that state security forces broke into and ransacked the homes of Fawzy and Ezzat before arresting them. It said that other members of the organization were targeted and are now in hiding.
The statement added that the organization expects the two would be charged with engaging in missionary work, possession of controversial literature, liaising with foreign organizations and involvement in activities that endanger state security — charges which usually entail heavy prison sentences.
Missionary work can fall under the term of proselytizing, which is illegal under Egyptian law.
The group said the men also may have riled the police in their support for a known Muslim convert to Christianity here. Apostasy is considered a grave sin under Islam.
MECA said its Cairo branch was in the process of being registered legally in Egypt and speculated that authorities may seek ways to block the process. It called on urgent action to free the two men.
Coptic Christians represent about 10 percent of Egypt’s 76 million population and generally live in peace with the Sunni Muslim majority, though occasional sectarian clashes occur.

My dear Brothers and Sisters,
I wish to thank you all for the questions, answers and statements you sent me after the recent Desk of the Rabbi prayer alert. It is always interesting to me that people think that prophecy is something that comes true only in the way that we understand it. When I send you some information and ask you to pray, it is to pray for the mitigation of God’s will. It is my blessing that what did occur on the ninth of AV was not violent, with no great disasters. I believe that this occurred because of the mitigating prayer.
It is also my blessing that some of you had sent additional information to me so that I may enter it in to my prayer time as additional information which may help to direct and guide that which God would have us do.
I am watching, over the last two days, areas in governments around the United States and the world begin to move in the direction that is required for the fulfillment of the prophecy that all the world will turn against Israel. I have heard both Congressman and so called experts say that if the problem between the Palestinians and Israel would go away, Al Qaeda would no longer have a focal point to recruit terrorists. This is probably the single most idiotic thing I have ever heard. This “new” war against democracy actually began in the 1920’s, led by the Muslim Brotherhood, and has continued on and off to this very day. From them has sprung almost all of the other terrorists and ideologically militant forms of Islam. The religious advisor or head of bin Laden was from the Muslim brotherhood.
When I say that we need to pray, its that something is about to happen and we need to mitigate it. Our desire is not to change God’s will but to bring His mercy into our presence. So, as we watch together, the events in the world take place, ever growing and expanding. We must ask the Lord to be as merciful, and kind as He can and will be in order to line up with the fulfillment of His word. We must know that it is our job to stand as warriors for the truth, to be the light in the world and to bring Gods knowledge and power.
I can only tell you that war is eminent – that the people in charge of governments today are there not only because of their strength but also because of their weaknesses. When the disasters begin, we must be the ones who will go into that darkness and destruction and speak the truth and power of God and bring HIS light.
More specific information will be following very soon on what is going on, day by day, in the world. Please pray for us as we travel to Jamaica to take part in the consecration and dedication of pastors from 15 churches and stand with the Bishop to bless them.
Blessings on to all of you, may the Lord bless you and keep you, may His countenance shine upon you and bring you peace in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
In Service to the King,
Rabbi Moshe Laurie Deskoftherabbi@aol.com Shofar Be Tzion Ministries

See original link. Evangelical churches in Korea are receiving criticism for sending missionaries to Afghanistan, following the recent kidnapping of 23 church volunteers. In one of the world’s most internet-savvy countries, “cybercitizens” have been building up anti-Christian sentiment by posting up insults to victims and their families on blogs and community forums. Other more extreme and distasteful blogs have been used by some internet users to call for negotiators not to try and seek the hostages’ release, while others have even called for the Korean Christians to be killed. The Korean government and the hostages’ families have appealed to the public not to promote anything that might aggravate the situation, according to the Korean publication Chosun. Despite their appeals, however, a number of internet users have published on web sites that the Koreans went to Afghanistan for missionary work, and not for volunteering, as has been stated. Some have even tried to enflame the situation by saying the Korean missionaries carried out evangelism inside the Middle Eastern country’s mosques. One popular website, DC Inside, was used by some cybercitizens to boast they had emailed the Taliban calling for them to kill the hostages. The website has now attempted to filter out and remove these postings. Chosun has also reported that the official websites of Saemmul Church in Bundang, the home church of the hostages, and Korea Foundation for World Aid have had to close after being inundated with attacks and insults for sending the Koreans to Afghanistan. According to the latest update from The Associated Press, purported Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousuf claimed Wednesday that one of the hostages had been shot and killed around 4 p.m., and a police official who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the situation said militants told him the hostage was sick and couldn’t walk and was therefore shot. Some of the 23 Korean hostages, meanwhile, had been freed and were taken to a U.S. base in Ghazni, said two Western officials who asked not to be identified, according to AP. Although the officials did not know how many had been freed, South Korean news agency Yonhap said eight Koreans had been freed.

http://www.christianpost.com/article/20070725/28600_Taliban%3A_1_Korean_Christian_Hostage_Killed.htm Of course, the media is doing their best to ignore this.
One of the 23 Korean Christian hostages in Afghanistan was killed Wednesday and more would be killed if the demands of the Taliban were not met, said a purported spokesman for the militant group.
A family member of one of the kidnapped South Korean Christians in Afghanistan cries after hearing that negotiations were under way to secure the release of the captives.
“Since Kabul’s administration did not listen to our demand and did not free our prisoners, the Taliban shot dead a male Korean hostage,” Qari Yousef Ahmadi, the alleged news representative for the Taliban, told Reuters by phone from an unknown location.
Ahmadi said earlier that the insurgents would kill “a few” of the hostages before 5:30 a.m. EDT after talks over the fate of the 23 South Korean Christian hostages had stalled. Three deadlines have passed since the Koreans were abducted last Thursday, with the latest being Tuesday 10:30 a.m. EDT.
“The Taliban have lost their patience with it all so they will be killed…because a lot of time has passed since the deadline and there has been no response,” Ahmadi told AP by satellite phone before the news of a first killing was reported. “The Taliban takes no responsibility for the killing.”
The threat came as a surprise to Ali Shah Ahmadzai, the police chief of the Ghazni province where the hostages were captured, who said negotiations were moving in a positive direction.
“I don’t know why they’ve suddenly changed their mind,” Ahmadzai said, according to AP. Several of Ahmadi’s past statements have turned out false or contradicted other statements by Taliban, leading some to question the reliability of his information.
“My message to the Taliban is to use tolerance and be patient,” the provincial police chief said. “This (killing hostages) is against the Afghan culture.”
It has been nearly a week since the group of South Korean Christians was kidnapped while riding in a bus through the Ghazni province – one of the most insurgency-hit regions in Afghanistan – as they made their way toward the southern city of Kandahar.
The 23 South Koreans, which include 18 women, work at an aid organization in Kandahar, said Sidney Serena, a political affairs officer at the South Korean Embassy in Kabul.
Despite accusations that the Koreans were on an evangelistic mission, South Korean president Roh Moo-hyun as well as the senior pastor of the hostages’ home church, the Rev. Park Eun-jo, emphasized that the volunteers were there to provide free medical or educational services with no missionary intentions.
It is illegal to share the Gospel in Afghanistan under the Taliban.
“There are some who misunderstand us but we didn’t attempt any aggressive missionary activities,” said the Rev. Park on Monday, according to the Korean newspaper The Hankyoreh.
“We love Afghanistan and respect Muslim culture. We want to continue our community service work in medical facilities and schools in a way that is desirable to the people of Afghanistan,” said Park.
South Korean Foreign Minister Song Min-Soon, who is currently in Afghanistan for negotiations, said the hostages are held in different locations and had no health problems, according to AP.
The Taliban is demanding for the Afghan government to release a similar number of Taliban prisoners and for South Korea to remove its 200 troops from the country in exchange for the captives.
Thus far, the Afghan government has not agreed to release the prisoners and South Korea has emphasized that the troops will leave Afghanistan by the end of the year as scheduled. It was also noted that the Korean troops are mostly working on humanitarian projects.
Meanwhile, Christians worldwide have been called to lift up prayers for the abducted group.
“We pray that our Korean brothers, sisters and their families will experience a special nearness of God to them and find comfort in the knowledge of His power in their time of anguish,” said the Rev. Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe, the international director of the World Evangelical Alliance.
“We pray for the government officials and kidnappers who are in negotiations, may they agree to a peaceful resolution quickly and allow the hostages to be reunited with their families,” he concluded.
The kidnapping of the 23 South Korean Christians was the largest abduction of a group of foreigners in Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban regime in 2001.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/19/AR2007071901957.html?hpid=opinionsbox1 reminds me of http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/13/AR2005101301688.html. This is one of the SHOCKINGLY FEW mainstream media stories about this, though I would hazard a guess that pretty much everyone has heard about it. Now the fact that no real sport has been made of this in the media shows which side the media is on. Were they to deal with it in any serious way, it would provoke a real theological debate, and that would have forced the leaders of the religious right to take a stand on whether Bush ever received a direct revelation from God on Iraq or any other issue. The result of such a debate would have been the obvious: there is NO WAY that Bush EVER received such a revelation from God (more on that later). But by placing it out there in a manner where everyone would find out about it but so serious examination of it would take place serves the purpose of the anti – Christ media: to make Bible – believing Christians look like fools, fascists, or some combination thereof. And it has worked, see this link: Because Of George Bush, The World Regards Christianity As Evil!
And this better than anything else exposes the utter corruption of the Christian leaders in America, especially those on the religious right. If they were on the Lord’s side, out of a desire not so much to defend the reputation of the church on earth but THE NAME OF OUR GOD IN HEAVEN, they should have openly challenged Bush on this blasphemy. But since no righteous man or woman of God performed the role of a prophet, it shows the apostasy of our churches just as does this article: Do You Go To Church? If So, Why?! (Pay special attention to the fact that only 3% of Christians truly care whether their kids go to heaven or hell according to this survey as compared to 39% wanting their kids to get into a good college.) What demonstrates the apostasy even more so is that the MEMBERS of their churches did not DEMAND that their pastors oppose Bush’s speaking against our Lord.
How can I be so sure that God did not tell Bush to invade Iraq and Afghanistan? It is a simple Bible test, really. (Test Your Bible Knowledge With The Prophecy Quiz! and
The Requirements For The Office Of A Prophet are the types of things that would point you in the right direction.) Some simple ones: prophecy only goes to Israelites (meaning people that are saved). Bush = member of Skulls and Crossbones, pro – abortion and pro – homosexual: see Why Christians Should Not Support George W. Bush, and believes that Muslims worship the same God as Christians do (which is, er, quite a surprise to the Muslims). Add to that Why President George W. Bush Honestly is Not a Christian and it is pretty clear. Incidentally, none of the things in any of those links are secret. They were known to our clergy before he was elected to office, and by the time this “revelation” allegedly came to him, it was obvious that he had not changed! So strike one.
Strike two: things of this nature are only true if established in the mouth of two or more witnesses. Well, was there any evidence of any other Christian hearing a word from the Lord that we should strike Iraq and Afghanistan? If there were, I didn’t hear of it!
And strike three: all revelation must be consistent with prior revelation. For Christians, our completed, inspired, inerrant, literally true, and final authority in all matters – including revelation – is the Bible. It is what by which we can try all spirits by the Holy Spirit, and call anything and everything that does not measure up to be accursed. Now I am not one of those who believes that the Righteous One who shall one day return to make war and overcome the armies of Gog and Magog and those who follow Him are called to be pacifists: see CHRISTIANS ARE NOT TO BE PACIFISTS!!! please. But just show me one place in the Bible where God told Christians to start wars of aggression against a nation that did not attack us and was not imminently planning on attacking us (and had no real capability of executing any plan that they did have) but JUST HAPPENED to be MIGHTY CONVENIENT to various domestic and international economic and political aims of his. (Puppet regime? Check. Oil companies? Check. Halliburton? Check. Defense contractors? Check. Re – election? Check. Increased Christian persecution in Iraq and across the Middle East? Check. (And check here too.) Increasing the amount of carnage, disorder, racial and religious tension, fear, and economic/political instability in the world, which in turn makes us more likely to submit to international leadership for “solutions”? Check. Giving illegal immigrants an easy path to citizenship by allowing them to fill Army quotas? Check. Increasing our national debt to China and similar? Check. Sending so many of our best and brightest workers overseas through the “backdoor draft” so we can claim a “labor shortage” that we need to replace with immigrant workers? Check. And boy, those National Guardsmen and equipment sure would have come in handy after Hurricane Katrina, and to fight all of these wildfires, but oh well … check.) I have not seen it in the Bible. Nor have I seen anything in the Bible where Christians have this manifest destiny to go about imposing Christianity, “democracy”, or anything else on a sovereign nation. Have you?
Did God command His people to fight wars in the Bible? Sure. In the OLD TESTAMENT to ISRAEL. But that was in the interests of creating a nation out of Abraham – and defending said nation – that God would use to bring Jesus Christ into the world. After that was done, there was no need to go about putting men, women, and children to death with the sword (or with carpet – bombing campaigns). Of course, a nation has a right to defend itself, and the case can be made that we have an obligation to rise up and stop grotesque human rights abuses (although our next detachment of troops to Sudan to stop the genocide against Christians there will be the first). But it is safe to say that the large scale (or small scale) slaughter of innocents so that occult groups like the Skulls and Bones can exert its political and corporate dominance over the globe is fundamentally incompatible with Biblical revelation, correct?
Now say George Bush had sold all that he had and given it to the poor as Jesus Christ told the wealthy young ruler. Or had he used these “Radio Free Wherever” government radio propaganda broadcasts to pump Christian evangelistic messages across the globe fulfill the Christian mandate to take the gospel to every nation. Or had he proposed a massive wealth transfer program to the poor, or to imposed strict environmental regulations on big business based on Bible verses and doctrines. Now I would not necessarily advocate Bush going and doing those things because they may be taking Bible doctrines out of their appropriate contexts. But in those instances had Bush said that God told him to do these things, we would at least have to consider the POSSIBILITY that God MAY have told him to do so because the claimed revelation would have at least some scriptural basis. But a revelation that IS OBVIOUSLY COMPLETELY OPPOSITE TO EVERYTHING THAT THE BIBLE SAYS AND STANDS FOR? That should have made at least SOME CHRISTIANS suspicious.
Well, either we Christians bought into the obvious lie, or we knew it was a lie and failed to speak up and demand that others do the same. Which is it? Either way, it is enough to make you wonder if God is going to hold us to account for our silence on Judgment Day, right alongside those who support or refuse to appose abortion. If you do not feel that such is the case, or if you disagree with anything else that I have proposed, now is the time to make your dissent known and tell me where I am wrong!

From http://gfa.org The plight of India’s 300 million Dalits (“Untouchables”) will once again be at the forefront today. The Supreme Court of India is scheduled to conduct a hearing in the ongoing case involving the civil rights of Christian Dalits. Click here to read about today’s hearing.
I ask that you join us in prayer today for the court and for the Dalits. Pray that these judges will interpret the law fairly and equitably so that Christian Dalits will have the right to pursue a full life.
Also pray that the Lord will be glorified in the eventual outcome of this case and in the lives of India’s Dalits. To sign up for Dalit News: http://www.gfa.org/dalit-email
The Supreme Court of India is scheduled to conduct a hearing today (July 19) on a case that would remove a legal loophole that limits the civil rights of India’s Dalit (“Untouchable”) Christians and Muslims.
The case, which was filed in 2004 by India’s Center for Public Interest Litigation, challenges the practice of excluding Christians and Muslims from the reservation system for college enrollment and government jobs. The reservation system sets aside a certain number of college enrollment slots and government jobs for the country’s 300 million Dalits and 400 million others who are classified as “Other Backward Castes.”
The delay in reaching a verdict in the case has led to the suspension of a government program which reserves spots for low-caste students in the country’s medical, engineering and professional schools. The two judges who made the decision to suspend that program in March said it could not be implemented until the full court could agree on its legality, in light of the case involving the reservation system. The judges also questioned the government’s decision to base the number of reserved slots on the 1931 Indian Census—the last one that included caste as a category. Gospel for Asia leader Simon John in New Delhi, India, says this latest action could cause a setback to the entire case. “Many feel the ruling, though based on a seemingly justified proposition that no current data exists, will hinder the inclusion of Other Backward Castes,” Simon John said.
“The agency filing the lawsuit argues that the caste system has been part of life in India for more than 3,000 years and that its practices are deeply ingrained in the country’s social traditions.” The disparities date back 57 years to when the Indian government created the reservation programs. At that time, the government declared the reservations applied only to Hindu Dalits, since the caste system was related to the Hindu religion. Christians and Muslims do not receive the special provisions and are therefore excluded from many opportunities to climb out of poverty. Dalits who become Christians lose their rights under the reservation system. The agency filing the lawsuit argues that the caste system has been part of life in India for more than 3,000 years and that its practices are deeply ingrained in the country’s social traditions. Even though the caste system has been outlawed for 50 years, it still maintains a stronghold in the country where the majority of the people traditionally practice the Hindu religion. Amendments to the law in 1956 and 1990 extended reservation benefits to Sikhs and Buddhists, respectively.
|Dalit children are unable to enroll in college if they become Christians. The law only allows Dalit students who are Hindu, Sikh or Buddhist to enroll in the spots set aside for them.|
In response to the recent legal challenge, the court ordered a study of the socio-economic and educational condition of people from low-caste and Dalit backgrounds who had left Hinduism. The National Commission on Minority Religion and Linguistics took two years to complete the study. In May the committee submitted its report, which concluded that Dalits of all faiths should receive reservation benefits. While today’s hearing is important, Simon John does not foresee that the case will be completely resolved anytime soon. “The Supreme Court case will possibly take at least two to three years before a final decision is reached, and that would prevent those classified as ‘Other Backward Castes’ from enjoying the reservation benefits immediately,” he said. Gospel for Asia President K.P. Yohannan agrees.
“We are praying for a major breakthrough that will improve the life of every Dalit, and trusting God for the result,” K.P. said. “There are possibly millions of Dalits who would gladly become Christians but fear the loss of equal opportunity if they publicly do so,” K.P added. “We are praying that the court will bring justice to these oppressed people, and give them the right to freely follow Christ without persecution. Imagine the joy in heaven when this happens! Let us all pray for a positive outcome.”
The two leaders also ask for prayer for the court as it works through this case and especially for today’s hearing. Additionally, prayer is requested for the organizations that are attempting to educate Dalits about this case and the possible effects it could have on them.

News flash: The Jews went to Israel TO GET AWAY FROM US. AND NOT ENTIRELY WITHOUT JUSTIFICATION. So of all places to build the world’s largest cross (and incidentally, does not such a display of excess qualify as a graven image or idol?) why Israel? What is worse: these people are showing NO INTEREST in what is REALLY IMPORTANT, which is winning people with the gospel over there. See, in Israel, it is ILLEGAL to proselytize or evangelize. So, the only way to LEGALLY win converts (and the New Testament does CLEARLY TELL US TO OBEY THE LAW AND RESPECT EARTHLY AUTHORITIES, especially in Acts) is by being loving, kind, and respectful so that you can draw people with your good works. And Christians have been doing exactly that, especially with the Russian and African immigrants. Further, there is also a small but growing Messianic Jewish movement over there, and they are facing ostracism and persecution (Israeli Persecution Of Messianic Jews Has Been Going On For Some Time, Persecution Of Messianic Jews In Israel By Rabbinic Jews!!). Even some Muslims are beginning to get curious about Jesus Christ in that region. And now, a bunch of Christians chasing after mammon – trying to get tourist dollars back into the Christian tourist attractions – are threatening what is really important by trying to erect a giant cross that will serve to only inflame Jews and Muslims. It will be seen as a Christian imperialist/triumphialist move, as well as an act of religious aggression: a desire for Christians to start aggressive full scale open conversion attempts. Result? 1) Violence, first against the Messianic Jews (who have already suffered violence and harrassment at the hands of extreme elements of the Jewish community) and then against the gentile Christians over there. 2) Gentile Christians will have their missions shut down and be expelled from Israel. 3) Israel will pass much tougher evangelism laws than they already have. Right now it is merely illegal to ask someone to convert; they are free to do so of their own accord, and the law is only enforced against people who try to evangelize children (because of the ugly history of state churches and Christian nannies baptizing Jewish children against the will of the parents). But once tensions inflame over this, conversion will be illegal, both accepting or seeking them. 4) Let us not forget the Muslims! You know, the people that we are brutally subjugating in Iraq? Right about now? Muslims see the cross as a sign of military and religious aggression. You know this whole Confederate flag thing that has black folks so upset? Well A) multiply that times 100 and B) put a giant Confederate flag in the middle of Harlem, Watts, Detroit, south side Chicago, Auburn Avenue Atlanta, Anacostia in Washington, D.C., or in Carol City Miami and see what will happen. Can you say INTIFADA? Can you say “Well, since they are going to put up a giant cross in our backyard, we are going to have our Council of American Islamic Relations brothers in America throw bombs into THEIR backyards.” Of course, Christians should be willing to abide no small amount of terror reprisals for spreading the gospel, BUT PUTTING UP A GIANT CROSS TO ATTRACT INTERNATIONAL TOURISTS IS NOT AN EVANGELISTIC ENTERPRISE, IT IS A CAPITALIST ONE! This cross is being put up for MONEY (making it certainly an IDOL) and it would cause all sorts of division, strife, and hindrance of the gospel over MONEY (which idolatry tends to do). We need some Bible – believing Christians (John Hagee, this excludes you) to rise up and let these “Christian businessmen” trying to build this cross what a horrible idea it is. If they want Christian tourists over there so badly, then they need to support the charity and mission works in Israel (you know, do what the Bible actually says? Remember? the Bible?) so they can create their own.

My note: Of course, the revelation that Al Qaeda is back in business despite – or perhaps because of – our Iraq adventure has NOTHING to do with the need to distract the masses from the fallout of the Scooter Libby pardon, or his keeping the women that he exploited (Harriet Miers, Sara Taylor – and is there a connection between Libby and Taylor?, Monica Goodling, etc.) from testifying before Congress, possibly forcing them to go to prison? Of course it doesn’t! Religious right, where are you? Conservatives, where are you? Oh yes, right here defending the indefensible, of course! Look, fellow Christians, this whole mixing religion and politics thing … it isn’t working out (see Hillary Clinton Professes To Believe Upon The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ and Christian Values Do Not Exist and Christian Values Do Not Exist Part II: The Motivation For Believing A Lie and Why Fox News Is Bad For Christianity). We need a different strategy. I suggest reading our Bibles, finding out what it teaches with regards to how Christians should interact with the outside world, and doing what it says. What do you think?
Original link: U.S. Intel Warns al-Qaida Has Rebuilt
AP NewsBreak: U.S. Intelligence Report Warns al-Qaida Has Largely Regained Strength
By KATHERINE SHRADER The Associated Press WASHINGTON
U.S. intelligence analysts have concluded al-Qaida has rebuilt its operating capability to a level not seen since just before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, The Associated Press has learned. The conclusion suggests that the network that launched the most devastating terror attack on the United States has been able to regroup along the Afghan-Pakistani border despite nearly six years of bombings, war and other tactics aimed at crippling it. (My note: had we kept the focus on Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Saudi Arabia, and north Africa instead of going to Iraq where there was little Al Qaeda presence … oh never mind.)
Still, numerous government officials say they know of no specific, credible threat of a new attack on U.S. soil. (My note: So, er, why issue the alert? Oh, to scare and distract people, never mind! Christians, God has not given us the spirit of fear, so anyone who is trying to SCARE YOU, especially to distract you from their own questionable doings, is disobeying God.) A counterterrorism official familiar with a five-page summary of the new government threat assessment called it a stark appraisal to be discussed at the White House on Thursday as part of a broader meeting on an upcoming National Intelligence Estimate. (Oh yeah, and Bush, Rice, national security chief Mike McConnell, etc. are really going to be paying attention!)
The official and others spoke on condition of anonymity because the secret report remains classified. (Now the proceedings of that energy task force that Dick Cheney presided over way back in 2001? Still secret. But something like this gets leaked? Believe it if you want.)
Counterterrorism analysts produced the document, titled “Al-Qaida better positioned to strike the West.”(Better positioned than what? A Canadian girl scout troup? Or than when? In 1980s when we were giving them arms and weapons and training to fight our wars?) The document focuses on the terror group’s safe haven in Pakistan and makes a range of observations about the threat posed to the United States and its allies, officials said. Al-Qaida is “considerably operationally stronger than a year ago” and has “regrouped to an extent not seen since 2001,” the official said, paraphrasing the report’s conclusions. “They are showing greater and greater ability to plan attacks in Europe and the United States.” The group also has created “the most robust training program since 2001, with an interest in using European operatives,” the official quoted the report as saying. At the same time, this official said, the report speaks of “significant gaps in intelligence” (insert own joke here) so U.S. authorities may be ignorant of potential or planned attacks. (I guess Still, numerous government officials say they know of no specific, credible threat of a new attack on U.S. soil actually does mean something?) John Kringen, who heads the CIA’s analysis directorate, echoed the concerns about al-Qaida’s resurgence during testimony and conversations with reporters at a House Armed Services Committee hearing on Wednesday. (However, concerns that white evangelical Christians are finally abandoning Bush and that conservative Christians that never supported Bush in the first place are saying “I told you so!” were what motivated this stunt in the first place were NOT publicly aired.)
“They seem to be fairly well settled into the safe haven and the ungoverned spaces of Pakistan,” Kringen testified. “We see more training. We see more money. We see more communications. We see that activity rising.” (Pakistan: yet another oppressor of Christians that is also a Bush ally, just like Saudi Arabia, Russia, China etc …)
The threat assessment comes as the 16 U.S. intelligence agencies prepare a National Intelligence Estimate focusing on threats to the United States. A senior intelligence official, who spoke on condition of anonymity while the high-level analysis was being finalized, said the document has been in the works for roughly two years. (How long did they analyze the Iraq pre – war intelligence again? Since Rush Limbaugh was bragging about how Bush was going to attack Iraq back in 2001 – and he wasn’t alone – not very long.)
Kringen and aides to National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell would not comment on the details of that analysis. (No, they only wanted to release enough information necessary to scare the Christian right base into coming back home, not so much for Bush’s sake but to make sure that GOP primary voters stop considering Ron Paul. Bad news GOP establishment, they are despite media lies to contrary, and see here and here.) “Preparation of the estimate is not a response to any specific threat,” McConnell’s spokesman Ross Feinstein said, adding that it would probably be ready for distribution this summer. Counterterrorism officials have been increasingly concerned about al-Qaida’s recent operations. This week, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said he had a “gut feeling” that the United States faced a heightened risk of attack this summer. Kringen said he wouldn’t attach a summer time frame to the concern. In studying the threat, he said he begins with the premise that al-Qaida would consider attacking the U.S. a “home run hit” and that the easiest way to get into the United States would be through Europe. The new threat assessment puts particular focus on Pakistan, as did Kringen. “Sooner or later you have to quit permitting them to have a safe haven” along the Afghan-Pakistani border, he told the House committee. “At the end of the day, when we have had success, it is when you’ve been able to get them worried about who was informing on them, get them worried about who was coming after them.” Several European countries among them Britain, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands are also highlighted in the threat assessment partly because they have arrangements with the Pakistani government that allow their citizens easier access to Pakistan than others, according to the counterterrorism official. This is more troubling because all four are part of the U.S. visa waiver program, and their citizens can enter the United States without additional security scrutiny, the official said. The report also notes that al-Qaida has increased its public statements, although analysts stressed that those video and audio messages aren’t reliable indicators of the actions the group may take. The Bush administration has repeatedly cited al-Qaida as a key justification for continuing the fight in Iraq. “The No. 1 enemy in Iraq is al-Qaida,” White House press secretary Tony Snow said Wednesday. “Al-Qaida continues to be the chief organizer of mayhem within Iraq, the chief organization for killing innocent Iraqis.” The findings could bolster the president’s hand at a moment when support on Capitol Hill for the war is eroding and the administration is struggling to defend its decision for a military buildup in Iraq. A progress report that the White House is releasing to Congress this week is expected to indicate scant progress on the political and military benchmarks set for Iraq. The threat assessment says that al-Qaida stepped up efforts to “improve its core operational capability” in late 2004 but did not succeed until December of 2006 after the Pakistani government signed a peace agreement with tribal leaders that effectively removed government military presence from the northwest frontier with Afghanistan. The agreement allows Taliban and al-Qaida operatives to move across the border with impunity and establish and run training centers, the report says, according to the official. It also says that al-Qaida is particularly interested in building up the numbers in its middle ranks, or operational positions, so there is not as great a lag in attacks when such people are killed. “Being No. 3 in al-Qaida is a bad job. We regularly get to the No. 3 person,” Tom Fingar, the top U.S. intelligence analyst, told the House panel. The counterterror official said the report does not focus on al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, his whereabouts or his role in the terrorist network. Officials say al-Qaida has become more like a “family-oriented” mob organization with leadership roles in cells and other groups being handed from father to son, or cousin to uncle. Yet bin Laden’s whereabouts are still of great interest to intelligence agencies. Although he has not been heard from for some time, Kringen said officials believe he is still alive and living under the protection of tribal leaders in the border area. Armed Services Committee members expressed frustration that more was not being done to get bin Laden and tamp down activity in the tribal areas. The senior intelligence analysts tried to portray the difficulty of operating in the area despite a $25 million bounty on the head of bin Laden and his top deputy. “They are in an environment that is more hostile to us than it is to al-Qaida,” Fingar said.
