Brother Dennis Thompson and I do not agree on everything (see his comment and my response on spiritual warfare) but his comment on An Expose Of Just How Bad Juanita Bynum And Thomas Weeks Are to the many Juanita Bynum defenders on it called The Cult of”DO NOT JUDGE” was too outstanding to remain a mere response to a weblog post: it deserved the spotlight in its own right. Since an Internet search did not turn up the original document in a weblog or website, I will provide the text of Brother Thompson’s comments here. The cult of “Do not Judge”

This article is being written on behalf of all the ministries and people that defend the faith with the truth and are accused of judging because they test those who teach falsely with the Word of God.

The premise-Does God tell us not to judge?
The Bibles answer-No He does not.

John 7:24 Jesus says: “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” What Jesus does tell us is not to judge by our own opinions, but instead judge by the word of God, that is what it means to judge righteously. He always encouraged the people to judge. God told Israel to judge the prophets in the Old Testament. He had the true prophets judge the false but the people reacted saying the very same things people are saying today. Your being negative oh you never have anything good to say. In the New Testament we are told to judge prophecy, to discern, to test the spirits and we are told to test ALL things. We are told to do this because it helps keep us away from what is false and evil. The apostle Paul showed us how to judge so there would be no second guesswork. The apostle Paul said, “If anyone preaches another gospel let him be accursed” Would anyone say to Paul’s face “your judging.” In 2 Thess. 3:14-15 “And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.” Strong guidelines that many avoid to do today. These are done not to condemn but to bring repentance and restoration.

Lets let God decide whose right or wrong. Does this sound familiar? Except this particular statement was from a Muslim. But it can be anyone from any religion. Even Christians say we should not pursue a matter to find the truth. I realize that when one’s favorite teacher or leader is questioned the initial human response can be one of agitation and turn to over emotionalism. But when feelings do not subside and escalate into anger, rage, and maliciousness, it is not godly at all. Despite that they believe they have a cause to protect their teacher, it is not advantageous for anyone to have their emotions rule if they are trying to arrive at the truth.

There has been a trend going on for a number of years that has dulled the spiritual senses of the church and leavened the convictions of many a Christian. It has risen to new heights as of late where if anyone has anything to say about another they are told, “Don’t judge, “touch not my anointed” “do my prophets no harm” etc. Maybe if some of the people that quote these verses would look at what they actually say “in context,” they wouldn’t have such flawed arguments, they would not find themselves becoming entangled emotionally. Its not just finding a few words to prove a position, but what do they mean in the Scripture in its context and can they apply to us today.

What is ironic is that to tell people they are judgmental is to judge them. What people are doing is recommending for us not to judge by the word of God, but dispense with any discernment, just like they do it. Some even threaten and curse those who test because they cannot deal with the Scriptural proof presented to them. Christians are not to threaten or curse others because they disagree. Neither should they be warning that they are going to prayer, as though God will answer their prayer of vengeance and avenge the persons teaching that was examined and found false. The facts more often than not are; those who say not to judge are incredibly more judgmental then those they accuse of judging.

One person wrote, “Whether _______ is right or wrong is not up to you to discuss with anyone.” Lets look at this illogical statement. Now we can never discuss doctrine and peoples teachings. This means they too cannot discuss anything that they think, even if it is beneficial! But Heb.6:1-3 tells us we can discuss doctrine. “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.” In other words many of these things should be settled, but there are many things that are not.

What I have found is very few challenge back quoting from the Bible to prove their position. Rarely do they say this person does not teach this or you misunderstood, he really means this. What they argue is just don’t test it, or don’t say this because I know such and such for years and they are doing great things for God. That’s judging isn’t it? And it is done by appearance. Then when this does not work they will respond by calling names and threatening people using Bible cliché’s as “don’t judge” “don’t touch God’s anointed,” “do my prophets no harm,” etc., all taken out of context. If they were to think biblically they would realize we are all anointed, not just some, and to come against another brother or sister that is trying to obey Scripture means they too are coming against God’s anointed. Everyone in the body of Christ is anointed; nonetheless what someone teaches is to be tested. How do we know this? Paul commended the Thessalonians for doing so, even when it was Paul himself that was being examined by Scripture (Acts 17:11).That is a right Spirit.

So many have been indoctrinated into the constraint of don’t say anything against another no matter how far off they are. Let God will deal with them. If this were true, then why are we given all the commands in Scripture to judge? Why all the warnings that deception and falsehood will permeate the Church in the end and we are to be on guard? We are told to deal with it and not allow it to continue. It’s not to say that we make mountains out of molehills, but some are already mountains that need to be moved. So lets speak to the mountain, speak to those who congregate at the foot of it and tell them.

We should take note, we all judge things all day: let me give some examples. When you sit down you make sure you’re comfortable, you’re judging whether or not you are comfortable. When you eat food at restaurant you judge whether it taste good or bad, and you judge the service you were given. When you bring your car to a mechanic you look for a good one and then you judge if he did a good job. When you buy a product you make sure it works as advertised. When you receive bills in the mail you judge whether they were recorded right. Even in conversations you judge whether someone is telling the truth. So we judge not only every day, but throughout the day. You can’t help but judge! All these things mentioned do not necessarily have an affect on your spiritual life. But the things that actually can affect your spiritual life people are saying, “don’t judge.” If ever a lie of the Devil was told this was it. When the Devil tempted Eve he hoped that she would not judge what he was saying with what God had already spoke. During the conversation (Gen.3) she began to challenge him by the word of God but he responded by bringing doubt on God’s word, saying “has God said?” By the time he was finished she believed the Devil over what God said. She didn’t judge, and instead she and Adam were judged!

What Has God said?
Jethro gave advice after seeing Moses was going to be burnt out on ruling. Moses responded in Deut. 1:15-18 “So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and knowledgeable men, and made them heads over you, leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, leaders of tens, and officers for your tribes. “Then I commanded your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear the cases between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the stranger who is with him. ‘You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.’ “And I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.” This was the law to Israel and a principle of how they were to live. So they were to judge even the menial matters among themselves. This is made clearer in the New Testament about doctrine.

This is again repeated in Deut.16:18-19 “You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment.” You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.”

Why are some of the most drastic things said by famous people ignored, these scriptures show that it is because people are partial, loyal to the renowned, not caring if they are wrong or right. A bribe can be money or it can be other things such as promises or blessings that will be lost. The outcome is that it twists the words of the righteous when they are manipulated not to say the truth.

Judges 2:18-19 “And when the LORD raised up judges for them, the LORD was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the LORD was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them. And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they reverted and behaved more corruptly than their fathers, by following other gods, to serve them and bow down to them. They did not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn way.” The judges were to implement the commands from the word. Notice what happens when there is no judgment to decide what is right or wrong, the people do what they feel like and reap the consequences. The end of the book of judges it tells us what happened, every man did what was right in their own eyes (Judges 17:6, 21:25).

The judges were restored under Jehoshaphat king of Judah. 2 Chron.19:4-7 “So Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the mountains of Ephraim, and brought them back to the LORD God of their fathers. Then he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, and said to the judges, “Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.” Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.”

For even Asaph said in Ps. 82:1-4 “God stands in the congregation of the mighty; he judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked? Selah “Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked.” People are defenseless from the wicked when they put aside judgment. Today there are many people that are abused by those who Lord it over them, by manipulation, by teachings and promises that never come true. If you have a heart of compassion you cannot just sit idly by while this takes place, even to those you may not know personally. It is being done to the body of Christ and the body of Christ needs to say something.

What did Jesus actually say on judging?
Protectors of false teachers will say Jesus said, “not to Judge,” quoting Matthew 7:1, therefore that we cannot “judge.” At first glance it appears that Jesus does forbid judging, but lets continue to read the passage. Matthew 7:1-5: “Judge not, that you be not judged.” For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?” Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?” Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

In other words you can judge as along as you are not doing the same thing. If you want to help another and have taken care of yourself in this area, then you are able to see and operate on your brother. Jesus does not say don’t operate under any circumstances, but allows us to remove the speck when we can see. But Jesus goes on and says in v:6: “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” What He is saying is that we need to make sure whom we are engaged with. When you try to correct someone with the Holy Word and they are haters of truth they will not receive the pearls and will turn on you. So we are to weigh out whom we give the Word of God out to.

Christ kept this theme throughout His ministry rebuking the people in Luke 12:55-57 “And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is.” Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? “Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?” This was said right after Jesus lectured on His coming, how it would bring division, not unity (Luke 12:56-57).

Jesus also said “Beware of false prophets!” (Matthew 7:15) this is a warning but comes as a command from our Lord. But how could we “beware” of “false prophets” unless we test what they say? Instead of obeying what Jesus said, some actually ignore this and support them. How? By saying, “don’t test it,” “don’t touch God’s anointed.” They do this because they have been taught “by them” not to question them. Loyalty and respect are good qualities but we cannot fall into the trap that because so and so was in ministry for 20-40 years or we know them personally that they can’t say something terribly wrong. True men of God are willing to be corrected from the Word, no matter who spoke a certain teaching or prophecy.

“Ye shall know them by their fruits,” Christ said (Matthew 7:16). In judging their “fruits,” we must judge by God’s Word. So what is fruit? Well to understand fruit we need to take a few steps backwards. The seed is the word of God, it is what gives us the new life. As it grows in us we mature until we become like a tree (Psalm 1), for a tree bears fruit. Christ is using a natural example of a spiritual principle– a mature tree bears fruit. If the seed is the word, than the tree and the roots of the tree must be of the word. So a good tree bears good fruit. The fruit can’t be good if it is not based on the word, in other words they need to have correct doctrine and teach right to have good fruit. This does not mean one is right on everything but they will hold to the core teachings and are consistent in these. They will not say one thing one time, and contradict themselves another time.

In the New Testament this statement sums up what Jesus meant on judging. In John 7:24 says: “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” Jesus is saying we can “judge” only do it correctly, not by what you see or hear but by the Word of truth. Just because you don’t want to judge does not mean you have the right to tell others not to. To accuse others of doing what the Bible tells us to do– is to judge without a righteous judgment.

Jesus said in John 5:30 “I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.” To seek God’s will in a matter is to go to Scripture to see what he says on something. Jesus had perfect judgment because he heard from the Father. He also delivered this word to us and says it is not only His Word but the Fathers (Jn.14:24). So if the Word of God is used correctly it is not you or I judging but God, therefore it becomes a righteous judgment.

Jesus again made it clear how to judge unrighteously “You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. “And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me” (John 8:15-16). Jesus did not judge by appearances, He was able to know the heart. While we do not have the same ability, He has given us directions on how we can judge and be accurate in it. A crooked stick by itself may not show that it is bent, but it will always be seen as crooked when laid next to the straight stick of the word.

Paul wrote in Phil. 3:15-17 “Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule let us be of the same mind. Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.” Paul used himself and the other apostles as our physical examples in everything. Paul could not deal individually with the many false teachers springing up like weeds in the different areas. Paul said to follow his example as he followed Christ. Christ openly showed what is false, so did Paul, and so did the other apostles. Much of the New Testament was written to publicly correct false teaching within the Church itself. Every second epistle written by an apostle is for correction or judging false doctrine. In 2 Timothy 4:10, Paul judges and warns about a man named Demas. Later in the same epistle (2:17) he warns of the heresies of two others naming them. Paul did a lot of judging and warning when it came to false teachers that could influence the church, because he cared. What if Paul didn’t judge and allowed Alexander to continue teaching, what if Peter let Simon Magus stay in the Church? Think it through!

We also have permission to judge false doctrine, and those who really care do so.

What about love?
John the Baptist called both the Pharisees and Sadducees “a generation of Vipers” (snakes) (Matt. 3:7), he rebuked Herod the king. Today, he would be accused of being unloving, unkind, no respect for leaders and most of all un-Christian. Jesus and Paul would also be accused of being judgmental if one would examine what they actually said. I believe God has been training the Church to recognize error and deception because the real deception that could deceive the elect may be just around the corner. If you can’t judge today’s falsehood you will certainly be unable to tomorrow when things escalate. Is it now unloving to stop someone from going over cliff when you already know where the road ends.

How else do you protect the sheep if you do not speak out? Let me give a simple example: If someone is selling a false product in your city and numerous people are buying it and becoming sick. What would you do? What if you tried to go to the manufacturer but he would not meet with you because he is an important man in the community and you are not? Do you keep silent and just let it go or is it your duty to let others know? James says not to do something you know is right is sin. So you are sinning if you have any idea it could be wrong. Here in lies the problem, the people who say don’t judge do this for protection of their teachers. But they will often admit that they know there are things wrong, but they have not come to the conclusion of how wrong it is.

The Apostle Paul also writes: “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all discernment (judgment) that you may approve things that are excellent in God’s sight.” It is this same love that he applies to Eph. 4:14-15 “that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ” This truth would be the word that would challenge the words from deceivers who are deceived and affecting the body with “winds of doctrine.”

We are to identify certain people for the brethren’s own safety. We are to identify false teachers for the purpose of protecting the sheep in Christ’s Church, and we certainly don’t need to apologize for this. We are our brothers keeper. This love is a discriminating love, a love that cares enough for others and is not concerned with what people think of you, especially when you know that you are right from the Word.

Hanging with people who teach falsely will rub off on you, the cliché for self protection “touch not my anointed” becomes “let it be,” it is grinded into the followers and moaned by them toward those who have anything to say about their favorite teachers. One needs to hear both sides before they can make a just decision. Find the proof that what they teach is from the Bible and not from their own imagination of what they think the Bible says.

Lets look at what those who say not to judge are actually saying the Word of God states, next to what the Word of God actually says.

Those who say “Don’t judge- 1 Thess. 5:21-22 “Don’t Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”

The BIBLE-1Thess. 5:21-22 “Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”

Is it evil to test-NO it is not! We are told to test ALL things, not just pick and choose what and when to test. Now this does not mean we become the judge and jury or walk around with a critical eye on everything. It means we are to be sober and vigilant and not take for granted that everything said is the Gospel.

Those who say “Don’t judge- I John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do believe every spirit, don’t test the spirits, whether they are of God”

The BIBLE- I John 4:1-3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

“Do my prophets no harm.” Meant not to lay hands on them. False prophets were to be rejected and stoned in the Old Testament (Deut.18:20). Instead , Israel killed the true prophets (Mt.23:35-37). No one is laying hands on anyone today. The Bible tells us to judge prophets. 1 Cor. 14:29 “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.” It does not just say let only the other prophets judge, but the “others.” These others may have the gift of prophecy or those gifted in the word and Spirit. This would also relate to 1 Cor.12:10 which tells us one of the gifts of the Spirit is a discerning of spirits. (judging, determining what is from God or not). Exactly what John writes in I John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God” Here again we are told to judge, and in this case it could mean the whole congregation. The “discerning of spirits” is probably the most needed gift in the end times where Jesus said many false prophets and teachers would be around us. When there is a need God raises up a standard. As Paul continues to write “the spirit of the prophets are subject to the prophets.” This does not mean we turn over a meeting to false prophets to validate the prior false prophets that spoke. Today we have a repetition of the error of the people in Jeremiah’s time “An astonishing and horrible thing has been committed in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own power; and My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?” (Jer. 5:30-31) He asks a question that we need to answer today. What will you do?

No person is to be prevented from the right of investigating and comparing with the Bible what is said. Who would desire to prohibit the people from a full and free examination of what is said? Certainly it would not be God who tells us to judge in the Word. The guideline of testing and judging stresses the importance of truth being accepted and error being rejected. It gives accountability for what one says as a teacher to many people, this reduces the margin of error spread to the people.

Believers are not to avoid judging, just avoid judging with a final condemnation (the eternal destiny of someone). This word judge (Greek-krino) is used over 80 times in the New Testament and it means to call in question, discern, conclude, decree, and determine. The meaning does not mean to condemn in judgment; the context shows we are responsible to correctly evaluate a thing or an act. It does not mean to glean the truth and ignore the false because their good outweighs the bad. We cannot always judge someone’s motives, only God has this kind ability. We are commanded to judge what they spoke, their teachings. God is the ultimate judge on eternal life but we the church are to be keepers of the truth, to do this one must test what is said and reject falsehood.

Heb. 5:12-14 “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

The author tells us that believers who are “mature,” are those who have trained themselves to exercise judgment, to discern between good and evil through the Word, not by feelings. That is judging; those who do not judge are babes in the word. One of the ways to show you are spiritually mature is to seek out a matter on its own without being persuaded by public opinions or the status of a person. People today often trust a person’s position or fame more than the Holy Spirits discernment given in the Word. Error can only be seen as error only when it is measured against the truth. This means judging. If you accept anything everyone says because of who they are you are just a sponge that will soak up both the good and the bad equally. Then the only way we can get rid of the bad is for God to wring it out of you. That is not always a pleasant experience.

When we ignore the false we are helping the devil’s cause because the truth becomes hidden. The Devil hates the truth because it exposes anything that is false: sometimes it is well hidden. Jesus warned us that false prophets and false disciples would arise and He told us how to know the difference. When somebody says that you are judging, they are wrong, we are inspecting the fruit that comes from the tree and we are told to do so. When we decide what someone is teaching is wrong by the Word that is not our judgment but God’s. But if we decide simply by loyalty and allegiance this does not prove it is true and it becomes what Jesus called judging by appearance.

Attacks without a biblical case– without the facts proves that one is relying on their feelings and having blind loyalty. One needs to make a case from the Bible or they become guilty of the very thing they accuse others of. Proverbs tells us to hear both sides of a matter before we make a decision.

When sheep follow sheep instead of the shepherd they will reap the consequences. It’s well known that sheep are some of the dumbest animals on God’s green earth, you and I both are not as smart as we think we are. Peter quotes Isa.53 “For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls (1 Pet. 2:25). Matt. 9:36 “But when he (Jesus) saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” There are some Christians that confess Jesus as their Lord but instead of him being their shepherd they allow other men to lead them, they listen to their voice telling them what God has said. Certainly God has appointed teachers in the body of Christ, but no one is above scrutiny. Jesus said “But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:26-27). We see this in cults where what the leader of the group says becomes more important than what the Scriptures say. People listen to other men’s interpretation and what “they say God said” without ever going to Scripture to see if it is true. Lets make sure we are listening to the shepherds voice and not another’s.

What we are not to judge?
These are just a few things to think about. Col 2:16 “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths.”

We are to avoid judgment on days of worship and food lest we stumble someone. Rom 14:10-15 “But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way. I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died.” The point Paul is making is not to stumble a brother or sister by your freedom from the Old Testament law. But to allow false teaching to freely take place would be to stumble them.

Conclusion
Why do I call this movement of “do not judge” a cult? Because for the most part they follow there leaders advice and not the shepherd of their souls. They are not thinking, as the Bible tells us “to test ALL things.” Many are not being taught to think, instead they have been taught what to think. I know this may be harsh to some, but its telling it straight. When we willfully do what we are told, without our checking it out ourselves, we become like the cults. Those who do not judge teaching are actually disobeying what the Bible tells us to do. And they are telling others to do the same, sometimes by intimidation.

The early church was apologetic and polemic. They contended for the faith to those outside and had to do the same inside. If we do not take up this same attitude that is clearly presented in the Scriptures, we will be leavened beyond belief. Many of us see this as a very dangerous trend going on inside the Church. It needs to stop and we need to get back to what the Bible actually says.

2 John 10-11: “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed. For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” It may not say the word judge or test but its obvious one must do so to know there is a difference in doctrine. And it is in this “spirit of the text” many other Scriptures are written. Paul writes to Titus about the insubordinate, idle talkers and deceivers “Wherefore rebuke them sharply that they may be sound in the faith” (Titus 1:13).

Jesus commended those who judged to arrive at the truth, “I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false” (Revelation 2:2). All the apostles approved judging those who claimed leadership positions.

Paul wrote Timothy who was new to the ministry “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry” (2 Tim. 4:1-5).

What afflictions is he talking about? Those who came against Timothy in doing things that are required of God. What things? Convincing, rebuking, and exhorting those who have turned from the truth, God’s word.. If you are one who has learned to discern truth from error, continue to do so, don’t be intimidated. Another Reason To Dislike Michelle Malkin: She Equates Mormonism With Christianity

Posted by Job on August 1, 2007

See original link. Note the text in bold below. As you can see, the conservative movement can no longer make any pretense regarding being about actual Christianity. Instead, they just use Christianity as another “wedge issue” to inflame the base and goad the other side. Hence, legitimate questions about Mitt Romney’s magic underwear (Mitt Romney Show Me Your Magic Mormon Underwear!) gets thrown into a column about actual martyrs dying for the faith. Why? Because it isn’t about Jesus Christ and the kingdom of heaven with this crowd, people, it is about political power, and since Mitt Romney is a front runner that can possibly keep the White House in Republican hands, they are willing to ride that horse all the way to the finish line! More evidence still that we Christians really need to question our political strategy and associations.

The blood of innocent Christian missionaries spills on Afghan sands. The world watches and yawns. The United Nations offers nothing more than a formal expression of “concern.” Where is the global uproar over the human-rights abuses unfolding before our eyes? For two weeks, a group of South Korean Christians has been held hostage by Taliban thugs in Afghanistan. This is the largest group of foreign hostages taken in Afghanistan since Operation Enduring Freedom began in 2001. What was their offense? Were they smuggling arms into the country? No. Inciting violence? No. They were peaceful believers in Christ on short-term medical and humanitarian missions. Seventeen of the 23 hostages are females. Most of them are nurses who provide social services and relief. Over the past few days, the bloodthirsty jihadists have demanded that South Korea immediately withdraw troops from the Middle East, pay ransom and trade the civilian missionaries for imprisoned Taliban fighters. The Taliban leaders have made good on threats to kill the kidnapped Christians while Afghan officials plead fecklessly that their monstrous behavior is “un-Islamic.” Two men, 29-year-old Shim Sung-min and 42-year-old Pastor Bae Hyeong-gyu, have already been shot to death and dumped in the name of Allah. Bae was a married father with a nine-year-old daughter. According to Korean media, he was from a devout Christian family from the island province of Jeju. He helped found the Saemmul Church south of Seoul, which sent the volunteers to Afghanistan. Across Asia, media coverage is 24/7. Strangers have held nightly prayer vigils. But the human-rights crowd in America has been largely AWOL. And so has most of our mainstream media. Among some of the secular elite, no doubt, is a blame-the-victim apathy: The missionaries deserved what they got. What were they thinking bringing their message of faith to a war zone? Didn’t they know they were sitting ducks for Muslim head-choppers whose idea of evangelism is “convert or die”? I noted the media shoulder-shrugging about jihadist targeting of Christian missionaries five years ago during the kidnapping and murder of American Christian missionaries Martin and Gracia Burnham in the Philippines. The silence is rooted in viewing committed Christians as alien others. At best, there is a collective callousness. At worst, there is outright contempt — from Ted Turner’s reference to Catholics as “Jesus freaks” to CBS producer Roxanne Russell’s casual insult of former GOP presidential candidate Gary Bauer as “the little nut from the Christian group” to the mockery of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s Mormon faith. Curiously, those who argue that we need to “understand” Islamic terrorists demonstrate little effort to “understand” the Christian evangelical missionaries who risk their lives to spread the gospel — not by sword, but through acts of compassion, healing and education. An estimated 16,000 Korean mission workers risk their lives across the globe — from Africa to the Middle East, China, and North Korea. These are true practitioners of a religion of peace, not the hate-mongers with bombs and AK-47s strapped to their chests who slay instead of pray their way to martyrdom.

Christian Values Do Not Exist Part II: The Motivation For Believing A Lie

Posted by Job on June 27, 2007

Please see part I, Christian Values Do Not Exist, before you read this if you have not already.

The amazing part is that professed Christians condemn themselves with their own words concerning the “Christian values” lie. How? They freely admit that “one does not have to be a Christian in order to share, appreciate, respect, and uphold Christian values.” If so, how can it be of God, and God be in it? These people need to read the Gospel of John again; it tells us that things that come from God and will be respected by God on judgment day will be misunderstood, hated, rejected, and warred against by the world. God and the things of Him are the light, the world is darkness, and the darkness does not comprehend the light. So, people that regard “Christian values” are walking after darkness and not after light. Example: the Washington Post article linked to in this post The New Missionary Field: “State Church” Europe Where Christianity Is Practically Dead speaks of how Christians fought to preserve the position of a pastor that acknowledged being an atheist because “one does not have to believe in God to teach Christian values.” A more salient example: many people, including Christians, convert to Mormonism, Islam, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jesus Only oneness pentecostalism because of the strong piety and oustanding values emphasized by their systems of belief and culture. I know that I mention Mitt Romney more than I should in this weblog, but the media and political analysts speak of how well the fellow is doing very well in heavily Christian areas because he showcases his own history of hard work and achievement, personal integrity, and great family. Why? Because so many people have bought into the “Christian values” lie.

The true underlying motivation here is NATIONALISM. We want to love not only our country, but the notions of western culture on which our nation is based. Since we cannot go around kicking everyone that refuses to convert to Christianity out of our country (which is something that God did not even command the Jews to do; “strangers” were allowed to dwell in Israel under certain conditions), we have to create something else that we can all share for the purpose of having national unity along some set of lines that we can all feel good about. Since so many of these people are Christian, they believe the deception that this set of social, cultural, traditional, and political beliefs have anything to do with true Christianity. (I will grant you that some of these beliefs may well be religious, but none of them are spiritual).

Why? Because they want to. It makes them feel good about themselves. It is … man – pleasing! It is an easy way for man to become convinced of the notion that there is some instrinsic good within himself, and thereby divert to himself the praise and honor and glory that belongs only to God. And such people desire this so strongly, to receive the praise and declarations of being just and righteous that only God deserves, that they are willing to give people that hate and reject Jesus Christ a claim to it; to utterly defile it just so they can keep enough of it to glorify themselves! The very concept of “Christian values” is nothing more than the third thing that satan tempted Eve with in the Garden of Eden regarding the tree of knowledge of good and evil (possible only because satan used what was present in Eve already): the pride of life, the desire to be or to make ourselves into something that we are not. And it plays upon the lust of the eyes, which is coveting, a desire to have something that is not ours. Well, people who follow after the notion of Christian values desire to consider themselves inherently good (based on where they were born; being born in America or another western or “Christian” nation and “in a Christian home” makes you inherently better than being born elsewhere … you even have strands of hyper – Calvinism that claims that God places those that He has predestined and elected to salvation in Christian nations and homes for that purpose, and for that reason Christians should not bother with third world missionary activity; J. R. Ryland is reputed to have told the great missionary William Carey “young man sit down … when it pleases God to convert the heathen He will do it without your aid or mine”) and of course desire to be viewed as being virtuous and great – part of a great society of people – based on it.

Haven’t you wondered why certain Christians will get as angry – or angrier – at attacks on their country or their leaders as they would if you attacked their Jesus Christ? The reason is simple: if you attack Jesus Christ, you attack Jesus Christ. But if you attack their country or its leaders, you attack THEM, because you are denigrating their own image of virtue that comes from being associated with a “Christian nation and culture.” It is really  self – idolatry, self – worship. People who sell themselves out to and give themselves over to this sort of thing will do anything to preserve it! Case in point: the testimony of the South Africa Truth and Reconciliation Commission. When the leaders of the apartheid regime that committed such grotesque crimes against innocent people were asked what motivated their evil, their answer was “fear of communism.” While communism is certainly evil and should be in all cases opposed, what they really feared losing was their precious nation and self – concept of virtue and worth based on it! Indeed, cannot you see the anti – Christ, the beast of Revelation, the son of perdition, the man of sin, building an entire system based on these beliefs and exploiting it?

And I have to tell you: what really seems like a taste of this to me is this “Left Behind” false doctrine, especially that in the book “The Remnant” and in the video game “Left Behind: Eternal Forces.” You know, the “convert or kill” thing. “The enemy” are the typical bugbears of the right wing: the United Nations, urban criminals, and similar. SoldierServant does a great job of pointing this out in these three posts: Should Christians Commit Murder For “The Cause”?, How Can We Judge If Christianity Is Still True?, and False Doctrine In “Left Behind”: The Remnant Teaches Against the Doctrine of the God-Sent Strong Delusion. I will not go so far as some in saying that dispensationalism is the problem in and of itself, but clearly their “convert or kill” notion is not justified anywhere in scripture (which instead speaks of fleeing Matthew 24:15-21 or salvation through martyrdom Revelation 20:4). And this goes back to the Iraq venture. We probably will never know what Bush’s motivation for invading Iraq was. I say that it is for the same reason that he supports illegal immigration, supply side economics, corporate welfare, abortion, and homosexual rights (see SoldierServant‘s President Bush — Bad Fruits versus Good Fruits: merely to increase the amount of violence, fear, chaos, warfare, disease, and economic uncertainty in the world; a precondition for the anti – Christ to take power). But I am certain the reason why so many good Christians supported Bush in the Iraq War – and still do – is because (just like the South African whites) they have been deceived into thinking that Muslim terror threatens their “Christian nation”, and therefore their notions of being intrinsically good and being worthy of being worshipped and praised by virtue of their birthright and citizenship will go with it.

Consider this: Jerry Falwell said on CNN that he was willing to sacrifice biblical positions on abortion and gay marriage in order to support a President that was strong on national security because the key to defending our Christian values is defending America, and if America falls to Islam our Christian nation goes with it. For that reason, he stated that he would be willing to vote for an atheist if he was the best at defending our nation. What happened to just trusting God that He would defend our nation, or that no matter what happens God’s Will shall be done? There is no place in that in the heart of one who follows after Christian values, because the one who sells out to those wants not to glorify God, but rather to hold onto that which he uses to glorify himself.

And through religious right politics, many Christians are trying to use the power of the state to impose upon an unwilling public a system of beliefs that will not even save them because promoting such values, values which they themselves admit are not spiritual because non – Christians can have them, exalts themselves. Can you imagine what such people will do when their strong delusions of self – righteousness through their culture and national identity are taken away from them? Please recall, for a second, that Hitler used notions of goodness inherent in the Weimar Republic (Germany) by virtue of their birth, ethnicity, culture, state, etc. preached in the state churches to sell his Nazi program. Also realize that John Hagee is pushing George W. Bush to bomb Iran to speed up the great tribulation because he cannot bear to see Hillary Clinton get elected in 2008 (which would represent the final stake through the heart of the religious right movement), and millions of “Christian Zionists” are ignoring all of the Bible prophecies that have to be fulfilled (there is no temple in Israel, there are no sacrifices, the gospel has not been preached to all the Gentiles) before Jesus Christ can return according even to their own  dispensational doctrines!  This notion of worshipping man through worldly things like values rather than worshipping God in spirit and in truth is very dangerous. It has caused great evil throughout history, and will cause the greatest of sorrows in the time to come. I urgently entreat all of those who wish for heaven to be your reward to turn aside from this abomination immediately and begin instead to trust God alone for your deliverance and your salvation.

Mitt Romney Show Me Your Magic Mormon Underwear!

Posted by Job on June 22, 2007

Click here www.liveprayer.com/signup.htm to receive these devotionals in your email.

“Mr. Romney, show me your underwear!”  When asked about my recent statement
that ” a vote for Romney is a vote for satan,” Romney through his spokesman
replied, “”It shows that bigotry from time to time can still rear its ugly
head in society.”  The game in 2007 is to label anyone who has the audacity
to bring a Biblical worldview to the issues of the day as “hateful,”
“intolerant,” “a bigot,” or other names to try and discount what they say
and silence them.  Since Mr. Romney wants to try and dismiss me as simply a
“bigot,” I am publicly challenging him today to take off his jacket, open up
his shirt, and let the world see that as a “temple Mormon” and high priest
in this satanic cult he wears under his clothes literally 24/7 the sacred
undergarments of the priesthood given to him in the Temple ritual that bear
the emblems of SATAN’S POWER AND PRIESTHOODS!

(  I was actually able to get a pair of the “magical underwear” as they are
often referred to, and wore them on the Liveprayer TV program Thursday
night, June 21st!  To see that program, go to:
http://www.liveprayer.com/archives.cfm   )

For my new friend Barry Lynn of Americans United for Separation of Church
and State, like my previous message on how “a vote for Romney is a vote for
satan,” this message today has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS, this is about
the eternal souls of men.  I have never told people who to or not to vote
for.  That is not what I do.  While your mission in life is to oppose the
work of God and watch people die and go to hell, my mission is to bring His
Truth to this dark world and lead people to everlasting life though faith in
Jesus Christ.

Mr. Romney, like all members of his satanic cult, is a LIAR!  He goes out on
the campaign trail and talks about his belief in God, Jesus, and the Bible,
and that he is just like any other Christian.  He has calculated that the
theologically ignorant and politically correct secular media will never have
the guts to challenge him on what he refers to as “his faith” or “his
church.”  Just moments before going on with Bill O’Reilly a few weeks ago,
in my earpiece came O’Reilly’s voice telling me that he did NOT want me to
get into the specific beliefs of Mormonism, that “he didn’t want to go
there.” The secular media on one hand really doesn’t care what their
theological beliefs are, and on the other hand, don’t want to be seen as
bashing someone’s “religion.”

Romney has been very clever and calculating in perpetuating the lie that he
is a “Christian” by attracting mainline evangelical figures like Jay Sekulow
and many others to support his candidacy. (My Note: Sekulow works for the organization founded, controlled, and funded by Pat Robertson). Sekulow and any other Christian leader that support Romney should be held accountable by the Christian
community for backing a member of a satanic cult that is leading the souls
of men to hell.  They have sold out the Truth of the Bible and Jesus Christ
just like Judas did for whatever short term political power they may receive
if Romney is elected.  There is NO justification for their endorsement and
support of a man whose influence will attract people to his cult, knowing
those who follow the lies of Mormonism will die and go to hell!

Here are just a few of the theological issues that makes the satanic Mormon
cult totally inconsistent with Biblical Christianity and why a Mormon is no
more a Christian than a Muslim is.  These are the things the lying Mr.
Romney won’t tell you, so I will.  The god of the Mormon cult is NOT the God
of the Bible.  Their “god” is named Elohim and was once a man like you and I
who came from another planet.  Mormon theology teaches that men can
eventually become a god and have their own planet.  Romney, as a member of
this cult, believes that he too will one day become a god.  When he talks
about “god,” he is talking about this fictitious god of Mormonism and NOT
the God of the Bible!

This holds true for Jesus.  The jesus of Mormon theology is not God
incarnate as the Bible teaches.  The Mormon jesus was not supernaturally
conceived by the Holy Ghost, but the natural offspring of their “god” Elohim
who had sex with Mary, meaning he is a created being no different than you
and I. Mormons also teach that their jesus had several wives and children,
again, in compete contradiction to what the Bible teaches.  The jesus of
Romney and the Mormon cult is also the brother of Lucifer and will return
not to the Mt. Of Olives as the Bible teaches, but to Independence, Missouri
to set up his earthly Kingdom.  When Romney talks about “jesus,” he is NOT
talking about the true Jesus of the Bible!

*What Jesus you put your faith in is so critical, since this is why anyone
who puts their faith in the imaginary jesus of Joseph Smith and the satanic
Mormon cult will die in their sins and their souls burn forever in the
flames of hell!

What about the Bible and true Christian churches?  Mormons love to use the
Bible and quote from the Bible to support their deception that they are
Christians.  The trademark of all cults and false religions, even those who
use the Bible, is that it is NOT their final authority.  In the Mormon cult,
their authority does not come from the Bible which they view as incomplete
and not reliable, but the writings of Smith, the Book of Mormon, the Pearl
of Great Price, and the Doctrine and Covenants.  These are the writings that
form the false theology of this cult.  Romney and all Mormons believe that
non-Mormons are “abominations.”  While they don’t have the guts the Muslims
do to publicly call a non-Muslim an infidel who should be put to death, a
Mormon views a Biblical Christian as part of a “false religion” and void of
all authority.  Mitt Romney believes a Bible-believing Christian, the very
people he is courting so hard, are an abomination!

Like in all cults, the average member hasn’t got a clue what their cult
really believes. You only get to know everything after you have proven
yourself to be a loyal and worthy member of the cult.  That is true in the
Mormon cult as well.  Most Mormons go to their “church,” sing many of the
same hymns they sing at the Baptist church down the road, give their tithe,
read a few passages out of the Bible, hear a message about being a “good
person,” and go home.  It is only when you get to become a “temple Mormon”
that you really learn all of the deep, dark, beliefs of Mormonism.  The
Mormon temple rituals are actually little more than the temple rituals Smith
copied from another cult, Freemasonry!  Smith who was involved in the
Masonic cult, simply copied and incorporated their chants, handshakes, and
ceremonies when he started the Mormon cult.  These are the same chants,
handshakes, and ceremonies Romney participated in when he took his oath to
the Mormon cult above anything else, INCLUDING THE U.S. GOVERNMENT AND
CONSTITUTION!

The average person has no idea that the ultimate goal of the Mormon cult is
to establish a theocracy here in the United States.  Joseph Smith, the
cult’s founder actually ran for the Presidency.  So did Romney’s father.
This cult has the very real goal of establishing the “Kingdom of God,” which
means advancing the physical and earthly organization of the multi-billion
dollar Mormon cult.  There is a special room in the Mormon Temple located in
Washington, DC that has been prepared and in place for over 30 years, which
will be the seat of power for the Mormon-led government which will supplant
our current government.  This was the vision Smith laid out less than 200
years ago, and Mitt Romney and those in the hierarchy and leadership of the
Mormon cult see this as the time for that vision to become fulfilled!

I love you and care about you so much.  I have done my best in a limited
amount of time to give you a brief overview of the false and satanic beliefs
of the Mormon cult..  I have just barely scratched the surface, but just in
what I have shared with you today, NOBODY in their right mind could ever
believe that a Mormon is a Christian.  When you study Mormon theology and
understand the wild beliefs of Smith and this cult, you need faith greater
than I will ever hope to have to believe what they do.  There is no logic to
it and there is absolutely nothing they believe that has any basis in realty
or can be proven.  The mythical gold tablets Smith said he found .  Men who
become gods and have their own planet where they have many wives and create
“spirit babies.”  It all makes Star Trek look believable!

The Mormon cult shares some of the same scientific fantasies of the
Scientology cult dreamed up by that science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.
It also has some elements of the false religion of Islam in that they
believe all non-Mormons are an abomination and they will one day rule the
earth.  As I shared earlier, they have also taken some of the dark, satanic
rituals of the Masonic cult and incorporated them into their temple
ceremonies.  Listen, Mitt Romney and those in this cult can believe whatever
they want.  God gave us free will, and men who live in rebellion to God
since the very beginning have dreamed up the wildest and most ridiculous
things, and sadly people who were spiritually void chose to believe their
lies and will be lost for all eternity because of it.  My main  point is
that they be honest and truthful about what they believe.  The danger of
Mormonism is that they are deceptive (just look at their name, the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and will lie without conscience  just
like the father of lies, satan (John 8:44), to get people to join their
cult.

The secular media has got to be responsible enough to tell people what the
Mormon cult really believes.  They can’t simply give Romney a pass when he
talks about “his faith” and “his church.”  They need to have the guts to
tell people what “his faith and church” really believe and challenge him
when he uses words like God, Jesus, and the Bible.  They don’t have to take
my word for it.  There is a wealth of information easily accessible out
there by thousands of people who were once part of this cult.  There is 100%
proof and documentation of all that this cult believes.  When you challenge
a Mormon on their beliefs, they will flat out lie to you.  In a recent
debate with Mormon apologist Scott Gordon on the Alan Colmes radio program,
I addressed many of the issues I have talked  about today, plus things like
their belief that you can pray for someone who is dead to be saved, their
belief Black people have been cursed, and each time he flat out LIED about
what they really believe.

So I am calling today for Mr. Romney to take off his jacket, unbutton his
shirt, and let the world see that he wears the sacred undergarments of the
priesthood  that bear the emblems of SATAN’S POWER AND PRIESTHOODS!  I am
calling on Mr. Romany to stop lying and deceiving people that he believes in
God, Jesus, and the Bible, and tell people the god he believes in used to be
a human being who evolved into his status as a god as he plans to one day,
that his jesus is not deity but a created being who can’t save your soul,
and the Bible is imperfect and his final authority are the writings of
Joseph Smith.  That is all I am asking Mr. Romney, TELL PEOPLE WHAT YOUR
“CHURCH” REALLY BELIEVES!

Is Corporate Welfare Sinful According To Proverbs 22:6?

Posted by Job on June 20, 2007

Psalm 22:6 – He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.  Now we can debate with the left all we want over “cutting social programs in order to give tax cuts to the rich” fulfills the “oppresseth the poor to increase his riches” part. You can defend tax shelters and wanting to do away with the inheritance tax if you want as well. But there is NO WAY that corporate welfare does not violate “and he that giveth to the rich.” So people who do this AND people who support this will have some explaining to do when they stand before God.

Now of you looking for another reason to vote for Ron Paul: he opposes corporate welfare. So what if he and libertarians like him oppose social welfare programs for the poor. The Bible never at any point says that governments should provide for the poor. That is the job of the church, and one of the reasons why the church isn’t doing it anymore is because the government IS. But the Bible DOES EXPLICITLY say that transferring wealth to the rich through corporate welfare (tax cuts and tax shelters do not qualify because it was their money to begin with) and similar policies is sinful. Have any of the other candidates, including former minister Mike Huckabee, taken a strong Biblical position against corporate welfare? Speaking of ministers, have ANY of the leading figures on the religious right come out against corporate welfare? Or is a fundamentalist literal interpretation of the Bible limited to, er, certain issues? If any of you can come up with a leading religious right figure coming out against the corporate welfare policies of the George W. Bush administration or this blatant violation of not only the letter but the spirit of the Bible, let me know.

What The Bible Says About Government And Leaders

Posted by Job on June 19, 2007

from Dr. Tom Snyder of Movieguide.com. Original article here at Answers In Action.

What does the Bible, the fully inspired and inerrant Word of God, say about government and politics, including the modern social welfare state, public education, ownership of private property, and helping the needy?

Proverbs 8:15, 16 of the Bible, the inspired Word of God, says that governments should use wisdom to rule and to make laws that are just. Proverbs 17:7 says rulers also should not lie. Proverbs 20:26 says wise rulers always try to punish the wicked. Proverbs 28:2-4 and 29:4 urges rulers to maintain order justly, to follow God’s moral code and to avoid oppressing the poor.

Furthermore, both Romans 13:3-6 and 1 Peter 2:13-15 say that government officials, whether elected or not, are ministers and servants of God who punish and restrain wrongdoers and who commend or praise those who do good works according to God’s transcendent moral code revealed in the Holy Scriptures, the Bible. Government officials must do these things whether or not the people believe in God or the Bible.

The Tenth Commandment in Exodus 20:17 protects private property by commanding people not to covet their neighbor’s house or belongings. Exodus 23:3 says, “Do not show favoritism to a poor man in his lawsuit.” Exodus 23:6 says, “Do not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.” Leviticus 19:15 says, “Do not pervert justice; do not show favoritism to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.” Also, Exodus 22:21 orders believers not to mistreat or oppress aliens living among them, but Lev. 18:26 also says the aliens living among us, including immigrants, must obey God’s laws, including God’s Justice. Finally, in Deuteronomy 16:18-20, Moses tells all the people of the Nation of Israel, “Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the Lord your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the Lord your God is giving you.”

In other words, private property must be respected and forms of socialism, fascism, Communism, or Marxism that do not respect private property are evil or immoral. Also, the people should elect local government leaders, but those leaders must obey the moral laws of God, including God’s principle of equal justice under the law. Under such divine justice and morality, leaders who deny equal justice to the rich or the poor, and leaders who steal or who take bribes, are condemned. Thus, leaders must not oppress the poor, the rich, or the middle class, but neither should anyone get any special favors, including aliens or immigrants!

In Numbers 35:31, God says those who are guilty of committing first degree murder cannot buy themselves out of the death penalty by paying a ransom or a fee. If found guilty if first degree murder, they must be put to death by the government, no ifs, ands, or buts!

The Hebrew Scriptures condemn adultery, homosexual behavior, premarital sex, and incest. In Mark 7:20-23, Jesus calls all sex outside of marriage (also known as unlawful sex) evil, and compares such evil to murder, theft, deceit, slander, arrogance, envy, and greed, which are also evil. Thus, premarital sex, adultery, homosexuality, incest, and bestiality are all evil, and all people, including all government leaders, should not promote such evil.

Regarding government, Proverbs 16:10 also says, “The lips of a king speak as an oracle, and his mouth should not betray justice.” Proverbs 16:12 says, “Kings detest wrongdoing, for a throne is established through righteousness.” Proverbs 17:7 says, “Arrogant lips are unsuited to a fool — how much worse lying lips to a ruler!” Proverbs 20:18 says, “Make plans by seeking advice, if you wage war, obtain guidance.” Proverbs 20:26 says, “A wise king winnows out the wicked; he drives the threshing wheel over them.” Proverbs 20:28 says, “Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love his throne is made secure.” Proverbs 28:3 says, “A ruler who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no crops.” Proverbs 28:16 says, “A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment, but he who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long life.” Proverbs 29:4 says, “By justice a king gives a country stability, but one who is greedy for bribes tears it down.” Proverbs 29:12 says, “If a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked.” Proverbs 29:14 says, “If a king judges the poor with fairness, his throne will always be secure.”

Furthermore, in 1 Samuel 8:7-18, God directly tells the people of Israel that taxes of 10 percent or more are A SIGN OF TYRANNY (see Gary DeMar’s Ruler of the Nations: Biblical Blueprints for Government, Ft. Worth, Texas: Dominion Press, 1987)! God strongly indicates in that passage that the people of God should oppose such high amounts of taxation. That passage also frowns on big government of any kind, including large standing armies.

In Deuteronomy 6:4-9, God gives jurisdiction of a child’s education to his parents, not to the local church and especially not to government.

The Bible also says, in Deuteronomy 14:28, 29, Numbers 18:24, Matthew 6:1-4, and 1 Timothy 5:3-16, that help for the poor should come first from their own families and only then from individuals, churches, and private charities. Also, Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12 and 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15, that people should work for their own living and not be dependent on others. Thus, nowhere in the Bible does God obligate the government to take care of the poor and needy by using the taxes that it forcibly collects!

Finally, the Bible also has some things to say about self-government. For example, it condemns laziness and praises hard work and kindness, especially kindness to the needy. Proverbs 10:4 says, “Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.” Proverbs 14:23 says, “All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” Proverbs 14:21 says, “He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.” The basic principle for such charitable giving is established in Deut. 14:28,29, where God commands His people to give one third of all their tithes to charity to needy widows, orphans and poor people. Even then, the money was not given just to anyone who showed up to get it. Those who are able to work but don’t work, do not qualify for such help. Also, those who have families to take care of them don’t qualify, nor do widows under age 60 qualify, according to 1 Timothy 5:3-16. Furthermore, Jesus Christ says in Matthew 6 that when believers give individual charity, they should give such charity secretly: “Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.”

Stalin and Hitler: Both Statists (Lessons from the Holocaust)

Posted by Job on June 13, 2007

While not technically from a Christian perspective, I will use this link, because it supports the position of Heal The Land that the state is an enemy of God (along with false religion). After all, who was it that crucified Jesus Christ? Now you must consider the fact that the reason why certain “Christians” later blamed all Jews (rather than a collaboration between the state and a corrupt religious system based on works, rituals, and rules standing in the base of a true spiritual relationship with God) is because, well, these “Christians” would have been blaming themselves. In many of these nations, there was no separation between church and state, so you had all of these “state churches.” Of course, “state churches” tend to institute religion by ritual and oppose true worship of God, exhibited by this notion that all you have to do in order to go to heaven is A) perform some baptism ritual (and even that was “sprinkling in the name of Jesus only” instead of full immersion in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit), even to infants and B) paying your taxes – excuse me, tithes. So, realize how the “state church” system (which included the Mormonesque pagan religion of the Romans that worshipped Caesar and others as gods) that killed Jesus Christ so easily turned into a “state church” system in Europe that persecuted Jews for centuries and morphed into STATISM, meaning fascism and communism, that killed at least 6 million Jews in the Holocaust and millions more elsewhere. So please read Stalin and Hitler: Both Statists (Lessons from the Holocaust), and if you have not accepted a true relationship of Jesus Christ, please read and follow The Three Step Salvation Plan.

Why Fox News Is Bad For Christianity

Posted by Job on June 9, 2007

Bill Keller’s experience on Fox News healtheland.wordpress.com/2007/06/08/bill-keller-taking-on-bill-oreilly-fox-news-mitt-romney-mormonism-and-universalism/ is a great example of how Fox News is a wolf in sheep’s clothing deceiving the Christian masses. Make no mistake: Christianity is a personal relationship through the Jewish Saviour Yeshua HaMashiach, commonly known as Jesus Christ. It involves more than calling yourself born again, or even of intellectual head knowledge of the existence of God, the scriptures, and the truth of the resurrection. Were that the case, satan and his demons would be on the highway to heaven (James 2:19). And it is not even about being a regular churchgoer who faithfully keeps all of the religious trappings. Instead, it is about loving God more than yourself (Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27) by keeping the Commandments given in scripture (Exodus 20:6, John 14:15). Of course, keeping the Commandments in given in scripture while not fully believing the claims of the Bible is not sufficient for salvation, but that is not the point. The point is that whoever claims to believe the claims of the Bible while failing to at least attempt with all his strength to obey the Commandments of the Bible is either a fool or a liar (Proverbs 1:7, Proverbs 14:9, 1 John 2:4). Serving God is serious business, folks, and it is both a great tragedy and a neverending source of anger and frustration at how people are playing games with their eternal fates. It would be better for you on judgment day to have never even heard of God than to have proclaimed being His with your lips while dishonoring Him with your hearts and actions. Did not Jesus Christ expose the Pharisees and Sadducees of the same?

And yet that is what Fox News promotes: Pharisee and Sadducee false Christianity. They are just another organ of the religious right that equates Christianity with mere conservatism – the notion that faith is merely professing support for a system of political and cultural beliefs. (And you do not even have to personally uphold the political and cultural beliefs, merely profess support for them.) Doing so supposedly makes you “a good Christian, a good person, and a good American.” No other message ever gets out, and that is why when Keller made the eminently sensible statement that Christians ought to be able to find someone better to vote for than a Mormon makes him look like an extremist and a bigot to the religious right. It does not matter to these people that Mitt Romney believes that Father God and Jesus Christ were merely mortal men who progressed to godhood, and that they insist that John 4:24 was mistranslated (Joseph Smith’s Bible omits it altogether) in order to claim that God has flesh and bones. Rather, Mitt Romney’s political and personal fidelity to the secular religion of conservatism is used as the basis for claiming that Romney is just as Christian as anyone else.

Now do not delude yourself for a second that this does not harm efforts to spread the gospel. You have a lot of people out there who for whatever reasons – race, class, upbringing, lifestyle, ethnicity/nationality – that will NEVER be political conservatives but would have no problem whatsoever believing upon and living the Bible just as does any other Christian. Why? Because politics is of this world, and Christianity is the faith of those who have REJECTED the world. While it is impossible with man for a European capitalist and an African communist to share something so important as religious faith, with God all things are possible! Yet these people are repelled from Christianity because the public face of it is Fox News, the Bush administration and Republican Party leaders, and a whole band of HIGHLY PAID political activists pushing a highly narrow – AND MOSTLY SECULAR – agenda by way of government fiat rather than preaching and teaching the Bible. Who can blame any of these people, a great many of whom know very little about actual Christianity, for saying “If that’s your God, you can keep Him!”? The reason why I cannot blame them is because the god that THEY are seeing through these people is NOT the true God of the Bible but rather the false god (or more accurately false gods) of political, social, economic, military, and legal conservatism, and in many cases neo – conservatism.

It was not always this way. Make no mistake, the Moral Majority founded by Jerry Falwell was 100% a religious movement. But regrettably, Falwell compromised from the beginning by being “inclusive” and “ecumenical” in joining with Reagan’s aggressive courting of Catholics, and after Moral Majority went defunct, the compromise quickly became more brazen and severe (with Falwell part of it, though he did withdraw himself to focus on Liberty University while leaving the movement to Pat Robertson and James Dobson in his latter years; though Falwell did continue to lend support to charlatans like Bush and Newt Gingrich until the very end) until soon it bore no semblance to actual fundamentalist Bible – based Christianity, and merely became a vehicle to exploit Christians for money and power.

Except to be effective at gaining money and power, you had to increase the number of Christians. Well, of course these people weren’t up for doing that. The next street revival that the vast majority of these people run will be their first, and don’t hold your breath waiting for it to happen unless you like being blue and dead. So what do you do? You increase the number of people who THINK that they are Christians by moving the focus from “faith” to “values.” And that is key. See, if your FAITH is real, then it will show in your life, most prominently love for God and one another and then fidelity to scripture. But “values”? You can profess those and live any way you want. Therefore, is it any wonder that the rise of the false “values” religion coincided with the rise of the megachurch, and of Christian broadcasters like the Crouch family of TBN with all of their false preachers? Let us all remember how from 1998 (if not earlier) until after the Hurricane Katrina fiasco,  George W. Bush and TD Jakes willingly exploited each other for their own interests (which in many cases were common). Not a single word was raised, inside the Christian community or out, of why a person of an Episcopalian and Methodist background like Bush was consorting with a modalist. What is even worse – and this actually IS something that the media reports on from time to time – is how George W. Bush was able to keep the vast majority of his Christian support for six years and still has substantial Christian support now merely by speaking the language of “values” and sticking to vague general religious themes and platitudes (especially when Michael Gersonsee this link as well – was his speechwriter)  rather than speaking of what he actually believes. Realize that for all of George W. Bush’s references to religion, we heard more statements of actual Christian conviction from liberal icons like Jimmy Carter (whose religious views changed) and Franklin Delano Roosevelt than from Bush.

Now of course, this was going on before Fox News, and for that reason this post probably should have been titled “why the religious right is bad for Christianity.” But please understand: Fox News has taken what was previously a loosely organized group of niche Christian sects that came together every two years to vote on election day but otherwise had little knowledge of or to do each other (and may not have even liked each other or gotten along) and A) melded them together and B) homogenized them. Previously, what did they have? The Wall Street Journal and Washington Times editorial pages, talk radio (whose success paved the way for Fox News, and really did not become a national force until the 1990s and the Clinton administration), and the McLaughlin Group. That was it. Now there is a global 24 hour “news” channel. Please understand that were it even the halycon days of the religious right back when Ralph Reed led the Christian Coalition, the race would pretty much be between Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum battling to represent the “social conservatives” and Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani battling to represent the establishment GOP, with Duncan Hunter positioning himself as the guy best able to appeal to both wings of the party (making him both a dark horse should one of the leaders stumble and a great potential vice presidential nominee). But now, Romney and Giuliani are #1 and #2.  Why? Because those two are favored by Fox News, with Fox News making sure that everyone knows that Romney “shares Christian values” and that Giuliani “would be great for national security, which is necessary for defending and maintaining our Christian values.” And yes, talk radio, the conservative editorial pages, and the rest of the mainstream conservative movement basically echoes what is said on Fox News every night.

And that is another problem: the conservative movement USED to be a grassroots movement. Therefore, even though it was never actually a Bible – believing Christian movement, it was possible for such Christians who happened to hold conservative beliefs to influence it. But now, forget it. Christians in the GOP are now subject to the same “look, who else are you going to vote for?” treatment as black Democrats, and the same way that lofty New Deal/Great Society/civil rights ideals that keep blacks in their fold, “values” is doing the same for Christians (and yes, the same ugly raw scare tactics that are used to frighten blacks are also being used with Christians; see https://healtheland.wordpress.com/2007/05/17/but-hes-our-best-chance-to-stop-hillary-demon-of-fear-i-rebuke-you-in-the-name-of-jesus-christ-ii-timothy-17/). It all leads to more compromise, which leads to more Christians seeing Christianity as less of a personal relationship with God through faith and more of a system of political and cultural beliefs and attitudes that A) they don’t have to keep, B) are often contradictory, hypocritical, corrupt, and abiblical, and C)  even if you factor out A) and B) wouldn’t get you into heaven anyway. I mean, consider this, people. What if Hugh Hefner’s Playboy empire was the one publishing and distributing Rick Warren’s “The Purpose – Filled Life” pseudo – Christianity? A) It would be a huge scandal for Warren that he would never be able to overcome and B) people would FINALLY pay attention to the fact that it is pseudo – Christianity. Why? Because Hugh Hefner is a liberal who gives huge financial support to Democratic and feminist causes, and opposing people with ties to him is the political duty of any Republican conservative. James Dobson, Pat Robertson, guys like that would be all over him. But Warren is able to get away scot – free because Murdoch, a much bigger pornographer than Hefner, is a “conservative Republican.”

So make no mistake, Christians, Fox News is an enemy, and a subversive deceptive one at that. Though I personally am a strong conservative lean on most issues, it is not about political beliefs but rather the battle between good and evil, and being on the side of good means taking a strong uncompromising stand for the Jesus Christ of the Bible. If you have not yet accepted the Jesus Christ of the Bible as your Lord and Savior, please follow these steps in order to be reconciled with God so that you can stand join the battle for good and against evil no matter what your political beliefs are: healthelandgeneraldocuments.wordpress.com/2007/04/13/the-three-step-salvation-plan/

If You Can Tell A Man By His Supporters, Ron Paul Is Your Guy!

Posted by Job on June 6, 2007

Careful, Washington Post. It almost seems as if you really want me to support this guy. In that article, the campaign says that all Ron Paul needs is a guy like this in each state. Well, if you support this guy, what is your state? After you read http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/05/AR2007060502787_2.html?hpid=topnews go to http://www.ronpaul2008.com/ and let him know.

Why I’d Vote For Ron Paul

Posted by Job on June 6, 2007

I am normally too apolitical to countenance most of the content on Townhall.com, but this link http://moyer.townhall.com/Default.aspx?mode=post&g=ec8f7d2d-5e0c-4d7d-8ebf-51c0ebad60c3 echoes my sentiments almost exactly. Why “almost”? Because I have certain disqualifiers which include support for abortion rights and gay marriage as well as membership in false religions and cults. Fortunately for me, Paul does not hit on any of my automatic disqualifiers. See cut and pasted text of article below:

Right now, if I had to vote, I would vote for Ron Paul. Most conservatives object to Ron Paul because of his stance on the Iraq war. Paul thinks we should withdrawal from Iraq as quickly as possible. Conservatives concede that his Washingtonian policy of “no foreign entanglements” is a sound one, but they fear his strong stance against the Iraq war translates into a weakness regarding national security. It may, I’m not sure. I don’t want to get into a discussion about Iraq right now. I don’t think because Ron Paul wants to leave Iraq it means he wouldn’t defend our country, it just means he might wait until it’s too late. What if Ron Paul’s foreign policy — which wouldn’t have us intervening in foreign disputes or engaging in “nation-building” — resulted in a country like Iran developing nuclear technology and handing a bomb off to a terrorist cell? What if it resulted in the detonation of a nuclear weapon on US soil? Our previous policies of preemptive and preventative intervention may have stopped this, while Paul’s policies allowed it to occur. This is the problem with Ron Paul.

“Moyer, you idiot, why would you vote for him?”

Well, it’s a hard decision to make, so I’ll explain myself. All of the Democratic candidates are socialists at this point. They don’t even try to hide it; they all want socialized health care and the living wage and every other socialist program you can imagine. The Republicans are only slightly better. They at least make an attempt to promote free markets but they end up growing the size of the government anyway. Except for Ron Paul, who at heart is a Libertarian.

The benefits of having a Libertarian as president, even for only one term, would be countless. Ron Paul wouldn’t just cut government size and spending, he would slay it. He would literally do as much as possible to destroy every socialist program in existence. Paul would change our country for the better in an even more significant way than Reagan.

That is why I would vote for Ron Paul. Every other Republican candidate talks about tax cuts and smaller government but if elected they would change little. A Libertarian would overturn years and years of socialization. That’s what America needs, desperately.

America is not going to crumble because we withdrawal from Iraq. America isn’t going to fall because of a nuclear attack (God forbid). America will fall because we will abandon our commitments to freedom and submit to government control and power in hopes of security and safety. I believe this country will crumble as a result of socialism from the inside long before any foreign force could defeat it from the outside.

At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected?
I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide. — Abraham Lincoln

And here is a great link on Ron Paul’s man (and soon to be joined by his wife) in New Hampshire:  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/05/AR2007060502787_2.html?hpid=topnews

Ron Paul: Why Not?

Posted by Job on May 8, 2007

More great Ron Paul links. This link from Baptist News Press is a doozy.   A great weblog link.   LewRockwell.com whom I normally do not endorse.   The Conservative Voice Article.   Another Lew Rockwell article. Read them and ask yourself WHY ON EARTH ARE SO MANY “RELIGIOUS RIGHT LEADERS” SUPPORTING MORMON MITT ROMNEY WHEN THERE ARE GUYS LIKE THIS IN THE RACE? My guess, these “religious right” types are NOT about this country and they CERTAINLY are NOT about Christianity. OK you Pat Robertson defenders, why hasn’t Ron Paul spoken at Regent University, and had Pat Robertson call him a great American? Not that I am picking on Robertson. James Dobson is going after Newt Gingrich, and lots of other religious right leaders are compromising themselves. And that is the key: once Satan can get you to compromise in one area, others follow. So many Christians have been misled into thinking that they need to get behind certain candidates to save this nation from homosexuality, abortion, and crime, and while that is true (yes, I do and will vote) what ELSE do they vote for? Are we Christians being led into trading one side of the anti – Christ for another? Now I am not saying that Ron Paul is God’s man in the race, but merely by virtue of NOT being the DEVIL’S man, that makes him worth considering.

The American Dream Turns Nightmare: How We Oppress The Poor

Posted by Job on May 7, 2007

For the uninitated, Gwinnett County is an Atlanta suburb that was turned into a prosperous high growth area first by the flight of white professionals from (though they deny it) the forced “integration” of Atlanta neighborhoods and public schools and second by whites seeking jobs and in many cases cheaper real estate and generally lower cost of living from the northeast and midwest. The result is an area that not only generally goes 65% Republican or higher, but has an EXCELLENT public school system – by southern standards anyway. (You better believe that Gwinnett County public schools are going to be among the first to be duped into offering the Neuroiconoclasticskeptisiser tactic anti – Christ “Bible” courses.) Well, wherever there are EXCELLENT public schools, members of the lumpen proletariat with upwardly mobile designs are going to seek it out and thereby better themselves: in this case blacks and Hispanics fleeing the generally AWFUL public schools in the forcibly “integrated” Fulton and DeKalb counties. Now when members of the lumpen proletariat invade public white flight academies, all sorts of things happen, including a decline in their precious test scores. So now, the bourgeoisie strike back: Gwinnett County public schools are eliminating all non – college preparatory and vocational/technical courses. The stated rationale: “increasing standards to increase student performance.” The real reason: A) to frustrate the mostly low – income “underachievers” into dropping out before they can drag down test scores and B) to dissuade future proletariats from invading. Future political control is also at stake, as so many proles have invaded nearby Cobb County that it is now in play for – gasp! – Democrats! That fact is why the race – baiting (the fellow vigorously defended Georgia’s flying of the Confederate flag as “his heritage” even though he’s from IOWA) thrice – married champion of family values during the 90s is now working for the ACLU.

So, in order to keep their precious test scores (status, pride demon) and power (control and mammon demons) they are willing to drastically increase their dropout rate and doom their own kids – well actually in THEIR mind those are not THEIR kids but THOSE PEOPLE’S KIDS (a lack of love, empathy, compassion, or responsibility for those less fortunate and in need of your help, which not only involves many other demons but most prominently is rebellion against God’s Word and Authority) – to a life of poverty. And get this: the vast majority of the people putting this into effect, supporting this policy, and who voted for the people that are implementing this policy are CHRISTIAN. That is right, Gwinnett County has a high percentage of fundamentalist and evangelical Christians (plus not a few Catholics) and regular churchgoers. You’d think that these Bible – believing Christians would be using their wealth and influence over the school system in order to elect people and advocate for policies that would UPLIFT the poor. They ought to be THRILLED at the opportunity to save striving hard working striving poor people from the clutches of the DeKalb, Fulton, and Clayton County urban liberals. But oh no. These people have totally sold themselves out to the right wing conservative Republican political views that causes them to totally negate what the Bible says about compassion and helping the poor. They are no different from all of the “urban” fundamentalist, evangelical, and Catholic Christians who regularly pull the lever for pro – homosexual, pro – abortion, anti – family, pro – criminal, pro – illegal immigrant, pro – welfare Democrats for their own, er, reasons. I am telling you, Christians, even if your politics DOESN’T take you to the lake of fire (and it will for more than a few of you) you guys on the right and left (and in the, well, center I suppose) are still allowing yourselves to be manipulated by the forces of anti – Christ, and this is just one example how. The worst part is that this isn’t some big grand sweeping policy enacted by federal government or implemented by a Supreme Court fiat, and it isn’t even a state government action. Rather, it is one of those rarely noticed routine local decisions whereby people and governments set themselves against Christ, and it happens either right under the nose of or with the gleeful support of so many otherwise good Christians because they have allowed themselves to be tricked by the weapon of mass distraction that is politics. It doesn’t even take a person with the Holy Spirit gift of discernment or a person whose profession or hobby is to analyze the news from a Christian perspective to see through things like this. All it takes is someone who is willing to A) learn the scriptures and apply them to EVERY situation (and I mean all the scriptures and not just those that favor your lifestyle, beliefs, situation, or “values”) and B) consider how things like this affect the other guy. If YOU were the struggling low income single mother of a teenage male, how would YOU like for ALL OF THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTY to conspire to flunk your son out of school and send him to jail? Is THAT “loving thy neighbor as thyself”, right wing Christians? Now right wing Christians, I encourage and solicit any and all responses that are based on cultural and political beliefs and things derived from Bible verses taken against their context that you can use in defense of this or any other obviously anti – Christian policy.

Judge George W. Bush By His Works Christians
