Christians Should Not Support The War On Terror

Posted by Job on April 1, 2011

On September 11th, Muslim men hi-jacked several airplanes and flew them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and one of them crashed in rural Pennsylvania due to a passenger uprising that prevented it from hitting its target. This was only the second attack by Muslims on the World Trade Center, and followed a pattern of escalating violence by Muslims against our interests, such as bombing our embassies in Africa and an attack on the U.S.S. Cole.

Since these events, America has conducted military action against three Muslim nations –  Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya – while supporting military actions of other nations against some other Muslim nations, namely Ethiopia against Somalia. Further, America would have also attacked Iran by now were Iran not so strong militarily and economically, and may yet attack Iran also down the line if forced to.

So, we are in a war against Islam, correct? A thousand times no. No less than George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton and a number of other people in positions of power have made it clear: this is not a war against Islam! Instead, it is a war against terrorism, or a war on terror. In other words, this is not a religious war – for the United States and its principle allies are secular – but an ideological war. So, the United States, and indeed a international community which now must necessarily include the United Nations thanks to their recent resolution authorizing military force in Libya, is committed to waging ideological warfare.

Make no mistake: the problem with Saddam Hussein, Usama bin Laden, Muammar Qadaffi, the Republic of Iran etc. is not that they are Muslims. If you want further evidence of that, witness Peter King’s hearings. Despite the claims of the liberals in the media otherwise, the target was not Muslims as a religion, or as a people or culture who are given over to this barbaric cult born of a demon who abused and entered into M0hammed. (Please note: Christians are to love our neighbors and our enemies, so the teachings of the sermon on the mount of Jesus Christ most certainly applies to our interactions with Muslims.) Instead, it was “radical” Muslims, meaning those who are “anti-American”, or “anti-western” or “anti-democracy.” (Please note: opposing Israel is just fine.)

One may wonder why Great Britain, our most reliable ally in going to warfare in the Middle East, cares about a bunch of anti-American Muslims. Or why the United Nations, which is weakening Iran with sanctions, did the same to Iraq, and now authorized military action against Libya, cares about being “anti-western.”  The answer: these things, especially being “anti-democracy”, are merely euphemisms, stand-ins, for opposing the new world order. That is why Abu Mazen, or Mahmoud Abbas, despite being a Muslim terrorist with the blood of innocent Jews on his hands and longtime member of the terrorist P.L.O., is not the target of a war on terror. This Abbas is the leader of a U.N. funded and supported Palestinian Authority, and oft states his desire to create a democracy in Palestine that will be pro-western and pro-United Nations, and a model for other Arab and Muslim regimes. That is why Abbas gets a blank check (both literally and figuratively) from the international community, and Qaddafi gets bombs. (And keep in mind: the international community, including the Bush administration, courted Qaddafi for years, including endorsing his plans to work to centralize the governments and militaries of Africa, before turning on him when he refused to step down in favor of a democratic government.)

So, if being a “terrorist” is not a function of A) your religion, B) your nationality, C) your culture, D) your own membership in a known terrorist organization that affiliates with other terror organizations and regimes and E) your own personal terrorist acts (again, all of which would indict Abbas) but is instead being one who opposes the prevailing worldly ideology, where does that leave Christians who adhere to a legitimate New Testament faith? Precisely.

Rather than going to war against Muslims, the goal is to get Muslims to join the U.N., to join NATO, to join the EU, to participate in these globalist concerns. Muslim Turkey, which persecutes Christians to the outrage of absolutely no one of influence, is very influential in the U.N., a member of NATO and will ultimately join the EU. Right now, a carrot or stick approach is being taken with the Muslim world. Join the emerging world order, and you get a carrot. Refuse, and you get a stick, and replaced with leaders who will take the carrot. Again, this is not a function of the Muslim faith, culture or proclivity to violent jihad. Instead, it is a function of the support for the coming global consensus.

As it is with Muslims, so will it soon be with Christians. Germany, who persecuted legitimate Christians during the reign of Hitler, is now jailing Christians who object to their wicked public education system. One family took their case to the EU on religious freedom grounds, and the EU sided with the German government. At least one African nation is now taking similar actions against Christian parents who homeschool, claiming that it violates the United Nation’s “rights of the child” treaty. Many other examples abound.

Make no mistake: one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. The day will come when being willing to publicly stand for the freedom from sin that comes from being a bondslave to Jesus Christ will cause you to be labeled a terrorist. This will not be merely because of the stands that Christianity takes against abortion, homosexuality and other moral/family issues. As the movie “The Time Changer” succinctly stated, Satan is not against good morals and values, but he is against Jesus Christ and His church, those who keep His commandments and bear His testimony.

Merely being a Christian will be a crime, whether you are a conservative culture warrior who pickets abortion clinics and hands out tracts at “gay pride” events, or a Christian who is relatively liberal on all points that do not transgress the Bible. And when that day comes, the terrorist will be the Christian, and the war will be against the Christian. These days will climax during the time of the great tribulation, when the anti-Christ will be given power to make war against the saints, and to overcome (most of) them. Many Christians will endure great tribulation, including a martyr’s death. Will you stand in those days?

So, Christian, knowing what the “war on terror” will ultimately lead to, how counterproductive is it, how worldly and revealing the lack of a mind renewed from it, would it be to support this abomination NOW? The answer is yours.

If you are not a Christian, make no mistake: being an enemy of the world and its wickedness is part of friendship with Jesus Christ. The good news is that this world and its wickedness will be destroyed and Jesus Christ and His saints will reign forever! You can be a part of this reign by repenting of your worldliness, your sins and:

Is The Rider On The White Horse Of Revelation 6:2 Christ Or Anti-Christ?

Posted by Job on March 9, 2011

Revelation 6:1-2 reads “And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”

The predominant view in modern western fundamentalist and evangelical Christianity is that the rider of the white horse is the anti-Christ. This was my view until very recently, when I read the John Bunyan allegory “Holy War“, which altered, or should I say enhanced, my view of Jesus Christ (more on that later), just as did reading “Pilgrim’s Progress Part 1” changed my view of Christian living and Part II changed my view of the pastorate and of the church.

Allow me to say that this article provides a good reason why the rider on the white horse cannot be the anti-Christ, which is that the four horsemen are released this eschatological figure is not released until the fifth trumpet. The trumpets do not occur until the seventh seal, and the white horse is released by the first seal. So, the white horse comes at or near the beginning of the events of Revelation (presuming a linear timeline with a literal interpretation) while the anti-Christ comes well into those events. Some interpretations deal with this by claiming that the reference in Revelation 6:2 is the anti-Christ’s laying the groundwork, placing everything in order, for his full unveiling to the earth that is described later.

Well, further arguments against the rider being the anti-Christ are given in this article. It deals with how those who propose that the rider is the anti-Christ deal with the fact that white is always used to represent Godly virtue by making the statement that the anti-Christ comes in this manner to deceive people into thinking that he is Jesus Christ. However, this interpretation requires starting with the idea that the rider on the white horse is the anti-Christ, and then making everything else fit, something often called thesis-driven analysis and also called eisegesis. If your starting point was neutral concerning the identity of this character, then his being on a white horse would immediately disqualify your  associating him with the anti-Christ. But if your starting point was his being the anti-Christ, that is when you have to contrive an explanation for the horse being white, one that seems to violate all rules and standards for hermeneutics used for other passages. The question is: “Why is this done?”

It goes back to one’s view of Jesus Christ. The rider of the white horse is given a bow and he went forth to conquer, and conquer he did! Modern, humanistic, enlightenment thinking does not permit viewing Jesus Christ as the Conqueror. That is, at least not until the last day when Jesus Christ comes to judge the nations for their wickedness. That is the one time that the modern church with its man-centered mindset allows Jesus Christ, who as God is the Creator, Owner and Sustainer of the Universe, to be viewed as a conquering ruler. (And for those who believe in the rapture, this happens when the church is already off the scene, and is spared having to deal with Jesus Christ in this role.) In the modern mindset, Jesus Christ can be viewed as the sacrificial lamb, advisor, “co-pilot”, best friend, psychiatrist/psychologist, enabler, helper, moneychanger (prosperity doctrine), mystic/shaman, errand boy, and even romantic lover, but NOT as a conquerer. This stark, authoritarian, militaristic view runs counter to the modernistic Jeffersonian view that exalts such ideas as civil rights, human rights, democracy etc. above all, and needs a Jesus Christ that will bow and be conformed to it. Thus, Jesus Christ as conquerer cannot exist in the mind of the modernist/postmodernist Christian except for a single day when He is forced to execute that role with respect to the wicked. With the exception of that day, Jesus Christ remains in a construct that the modern mind finds acceptable. And according to that construct, where conquest to set up authoritarian rule is undemocratic is evil, this HAS to be the anti-Christ!

It cannot be Jesus Christ according to this mindset, because this mindset makes Jesus Christ a democrat. This Jesus Christ does not conquer. No, this Jesus Christ is standing outside the human heart like a lovesick teenage loverboy knocking on the door waiting, longing, begging for His sweetheart to come in. And it is only when the person that Jesus Christ’s target makes the free will decision to open the door to his or her heart and invite Jesus Christ in that salvation occurs.

For this to happen any other way, uninvited, unasked, and without consent, is tyranny. For Jesus Christ is not a sovereign king who rules by way of His undisputed dominion over the creation that is the work of His own hands for Him to do as He pleases. No, that is tyranny. Such rule is illegitimate, based on the threat of force rather than the consent of the governed! A true, enlightened philosopher king governs not by power or divine right, but by mutual consent! So, the one who stands at the door and knocks and will not come in without the consent of the “pilot” (for Jesus Christ is merely the co-pilot, not the actual pilot who is running the show and is the true master of eternal destiny, which is man’s free will) is Jesus Christ, the genuine article. The conquerer who does not ask permission, who does not gladly (though under submission) come when asked and does not meekly leave when rejected? Now that has to be the anti-Christ! So says the modern Christian mindset.

Thankfully, John Bunyan did not live in modern Enlightenment times! Therefore, Bunyan presents a different Jesus Christ, one that is actually present on the pages of the Bible before all the modern humanist filters and constructs are placed on it. Bunyan’s rather rough allegory presents a kingdom ruled by Shaddai (God the Father), whose most prominent and prized possession is the city Mansoul, which was built by the King Himself. While the modern mindset reared on democracy would revile the idea that a city is the possession of any king, A) this was in fact the custom of monarchs in times past – the kingdom and all in it were their possessions, and in the east the subjects of the “lord-kings” were considered slaves to the lord-king, and remember the Bible is an oriental book, not a western book and B) the Bible was fully written in the mindset of this custom. Mansoul rebelled against King Shaddai due to the provocation and trickery of Diabolus (Satan) and made Satan its king instead, under the false pretense that they could exchange status as slaves under King Shaddai’s rule to free men under his rule. Of course, Diabolus immediately made the residents of Mansoul his slaves, but so thoroughly corrupted and tricked them that they mistook the slavery of Diabolus and sin for liberation. Their delusion was so strong that when King Shaddai sent His captains (difficult to tell in the allegory, my guess is that they are angels) to liberate Mansoul from Diabolus, they resisted with all their might. The story was explicit: when Mansoul was given a multitude of opportunities to make a free will choice for King Shaddai, they rejected King Shaddai each time due to the depths of their depravity.

So, King Shaddai sent His Son, Prince Emmanuel, to recapture Mansoul. In this allegory, Emmanuel did not conquer Mansoul by standing at the door knocking and being invited in. Quite the contrary, He came with an army of soldiers and overcame the recalcitrant Mansoul, who resisted Him with all the force that it could muster – as it was still dedicated and devoted to Diabolus and its own sinful passions – with mighty force. Make no mistake, in this allegory, “and he went forth conquering, and to conquer” Mansoul! After the conquering of Mansoul was done, Prince Emmanuel had the entire town confess that He took the town for Himself as His prize by force; that when the town had the chance – indeed several chances – to yield itself up to the government of the Prince and His Father by choice, they refused each time. So, Mansoul chose the rule of Diabolus, and Prince Emmanuel gained the rule of Mansoul only by overtaking Diabolus, binding him, driving him out, and “spoiling the goods of the strongman” by declaring and setting up His own rule and domain – and through it re-establishing the same of King Shaddai – by force. Mansoul had no say in the matter, because Mansoul, by decree, election and will of God the Father its Owner and Creator – had declared it to be so. Mansoul did not choose Prince Emmanuel, but Emmanuel chose Mansoul (John 15:16).

Now, Jesus Christ as He is commonly depicted in most modern gospel music is not the rider on the white horse. But Jesus Christ as depicted in Holy War and in the Bible may well be. If nothing else, it is something to consider. Another thing to consider: why would the anti-Christ have to go about conquering the world to begin with? According to the words of Jesus Christ, Satan is already the prince of this world (John 14:30)! 2 Corinthians 4:4 declares Satan to be the god of this world, Ephesians 2:2 declares him to be the prince of the powers of the air. So, the anti-Christ does not need to conquer the world. All he needs is to have Satan’s authority transferred to him. Revelation 13:2 says exactly that: “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” Further, Revelation 17 says that the rulers of the earth GIVE their power to the beast, NOT that he conquers them and takes it from them by force.

This may seem like idle speculation, or an excessive emphasis on “last things” when other issues concerning orthodoxy and orthopraxy are more pressing: “minoring in the majors.” However, one’s view of last things often casts a shadow on one’s belief. Many theological liberals and “moderates” de-emphasize predictive prophecy because of an anti-supernatural bias. Others use apocalyptic texts to promote the political and social causes that are near and dear to them. And many Christians are attracted to the rapture doctrines because of their desire not to suffer persecution and rejection by the world as Christ suffered the same.

In a similar fashion, the idea that the anti-Christ is the conquerer on the white horse reveals the mindset of a great many Christian theologians, preachers, and laymen concerning the doctrine of original sin. So many Christians SAY that they believe in original sin, or even total depravity, but by adhering to such interpretations as this, it really does imply otherwise. If original sin is true, if total depravity is true, then why is it that Jesus Christ comes only by willing invitation, and the anti-Christ only by force? Is that not backwards? If the anti-Christ, the beast is “the man of sin”, then the fallen, wicked world, if it is not his already, will freely, gladly accept him as one of their own, a kindred spirit! Again, why would a sinful world oppose and resist a man of sin? Why would they not accept him and instead need to be conquered by him? Only if there is some inherent virtue, inherent goodness in him that would cause him to resist the evil rather than accept it.

The idea that the anti-Christ would have to conquer is based on the notion that man is basically good; that the nations are basically good. And is that not what so many seem to adhere to because of their political, cultural and social beliefs? That the nations – especially the pro-western capitalist democracies – are good, and only the exceptions – the anti-democratic, anti-western, authoritarian regimes – are bad.

Isn’t it curious how most of the theories about where the anti-Christ will come is from the “bad” nations? First it was from the “bad” communist regimes. Then it was from the “bad” secular humanist socialist United Nations or European Union. Now speculation centers on the “bad” Islamic regimes. The idea that the anti-Christ could come from – gasp! – America, the shining city on a hill, the nation founded on Christianity and is a beacon of freedom and goodness? Well, MAYBE, but only if he is not really one of us like Obama!

Again, it is based on the idea that there is some inherent virtue in man, and some inherent virtue in what man builds. It is based on a rejection of original sin, a rejection of total depravity. Even the very idea that Satan takes over the earth and installs the anti-Christ only when the church departs after the rapture is based on the notion that Satan is not the god of this world at present! Ironically, people who adhere to this belief are de facto amillennalists believing that rather than being the god of this world in this present age, Satan is currently bound by the church’s presence.

So many Christians who profess to be evangelical or fundamentalist and profess a belief in original sin based on the actions of Adam only apply that doctrine to soteriology. They only apply mankind’s fallen nature to the individual human soul! But when it comes time to apply it to a larger scale, they shrink back! Why? Because of their love of this present world and the things in it! To those people, James 4:4’s “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God” applies to liking MTV and the New York Times editorial page and not the entire fallen worldly system! The parts of the world they like, they consider it good, moral, even Christian. It is only the part that they are alienated from, usually because of political or cultural considerations, that they consider to be “worldly.”

But go back to the text and view it in context. Yes, Revelation concerns the last days. But the letter to the Hebrews – and elsewhere in the New Testament – declares that the last days began after the work of Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ was the fulfillment of God’s plan and the high point of the history of creation. So, the last days – the time period that Revelation concerns itself with – is not merely the last seven years, the “great tribulation.” Instead, it concerns itself with the entire endtimes, which is now, and has been since Pentecost. That is why the letters to the churches are the first part of the Revelation. They are not introductory material to set the stage for the eschatology. Instead, they are part and parcel of the eschatology!

In that context, note that the white horse and its rider come first. It is the first seal! So, after the heavenly visions in Revelation 4-5, the white horse and its rider are the first thing that we encounter when the events shift back earthward in Revelation 6. So, why not strongly associate the white horse and rider with Jesus Christ speaking to and walking amongst the churches in Revelation 2-3? Were the material in Revelation to be arranged topically (i.e. with the things happening in heaven all together and the things happening on earth all together), that is exactly how it would appear … Revelation 6:1-2 would immediately follow the challenge to the Laodicean church!

So then, why not consider the possibility that the rider on the white horse given the bow and the crown and goes about conquering (and as this article states he does not obtain or use these things illegitimately in a manner that is against God’s will … such ideas are missing from the text) is going about to foreign lands conquering souls of sinners for God the Father? Did not Jesus Christ say in the Olivet discourse (i.e. Matthew 24:14) that the end will not come until His gospel is preached in all the world for a witness to all nations? Well, in Revelation 6, though it is certainly the last days, the end is not yet come! So, me must consider that the rider on the white horse is none other than Prince Emmanuel enlarging the domain of King Shaddai through the conquest of souls in every tribe and nation that are hardened with the total depravity of original sin.

Granted, this article does state that the rider is the Holy Spirit, not Jesus Christ. I disagree, but for my purposes the distinction is not a great one, as Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit in His Name to complete His Work through the church which is Jesus Christ’s Body, and the Holy Spirit is the One who performs regeneration. Instead, the main point is to consider the strong possibility that man-centered, humanistic thinking is the reason why the rider on the white horse was ever called the anti-Christ to begin with, especially when one has to be very inconsistent in one’s interpretation of Revelation and the Bible in general to arrive at that viewpoint.

Of course, the main point is that Jesus Christ is returning to judge the world and all its people for their wickedness. The only way to escape this judgment that is certainly to come at a time in the future that has been predetermined by God the Father is to be saved through Jesus Christ. If you have not been, I urge and entreat you that you would be so; that you too would be a conquest of Jesus Christ as was I.

How Many Abortions Has The Iraq War Caused?

Posted by Job on March 31, 2008

This is in response to the debate that pops up from time to time which is a greater evil: abortion or the Iraq War. Now I personally feel abortion to be a greater evil. Still though, I hope to demonstrate with this line of thought why Christians should generally not be in the business of trying to discern lesser and greater evils. Ultimately, where does it get us? Pick one, and evil still wins! Now I do say this: someone who feels that the Iraq War is wrong (as I do) might say that from a Christian perspective, the Iraq War is more evil because it has the greater potential to deceive people. I cannot fathom how a born again Christian can support abortion, so anyone that is familiar with the Bible that supports mass murder of the innocent is fully aware of what they are doing. But it honestly does appear that a lot of good, honest, loving, decent Christians have been deceived by the Bush propaganda machine concerning this war.

Well … onto meat of the matter. How many women, wives and girlfriends, have terminated their pregnancies upon hearing that the fathers of their unborn children were killed in Iraq? Or perhaps not even killed, but injured to the point where it would severely impair his ability to provide for the child and the family?

How many daughters of men deployed in Iraq – or killed in Iraq – will go on to become pregnant out of wedlock due to the lack of the fatherly influence in this very critical, stressful time in their lives and terminate those pregnancies? In a similar fashion, how many sons of males deployed in Iraq will become sexually irresponsible and predatory and as a result sire children that will be aborted? And yes, how many women married to men overseas will become overwhelmed with loneliness, fright, financial pressures, etc. and resort to extramarital affairs, become impregnated, and then terminate those pregnancies in an attempt to hide their unfaithfulness and preserve the marriage?

Of course, I am aware that any number of abortions that can directly or indirectly be attributed to this war is a very tiny fraction of the overall number. But since when are pro – life Christians, who are supposed to be governed by the principle of scripture, comfortable with writing off the lives of the innocent unborn because of small numbers? I suppose, then, that it would be more helpful to attribute the 5,000 or 500 or 50 or 5 unborn children that owed their cruel fate to the war as mere innocent casualties of it just like so many Iraqis.

And then, it is not just abortion. Lots of suicides and divorces – things that pro – life Christians are also known to care about – can be blamed on the pressure that this war has placed on servicemen and their families, a war that Donald Rumsfeld predicted would be over in six weeks and Dick Cheney claimed would last 6 months as an absolute worst case scenario. Both of these men made these statements publicly, and the lack of accountability is shocking. One does not have to be some anti – American leftist atheist to be outraged by that. One can even support the notion (which incidentally I once myself supported but now find specious) that it was in the interests of America and our allies and the Iraqi people to remove Saddam Hussein and remove the weapons of mass destruction threat before Hussein would use his weapons program to kill Americans or more Iraqis and be outraged and want answers. One such question: if fighting this war as well as possible so that we could win it as quickly as possible so that we could minimize the casualties suffered by the Iraqis as well as our own men was ever a priority, then wow, these folks have sure figured out a way to make a whole lot of money off this deal, haven’t they?

All I am saying is that Christians should not let their outrage at abortion drive them into the arms of pro – war John McCain, who not only will keep us in Iraq indefinitely, but I am convinced will attack Iran, or whoever else strikes his fancy. And besides, John McCain isn’t pro – life anyway.

So choosing between two evils is a bad deal Christians no matter which way you go. Instead, we should trust God and choose righteousness, even if it means doing nothing and sitting on the sidelines, watching and praying for God’s Will to be done. That principle applies not only to politics, but also pretty much to everything in our Christian walk. After all, if we had all the answers and were always able to bring about righteousness by our own actions, either individually or as part of an organized Christian movement, why would we need God in the first place? What purpose would faith serve? Again, whether we are talking about choosing or supporting a church or pastor, or choosing a job or college, or making a decision concerning your children or in your marriage, deciding that you are going to pick the least among evils because you have to do SOMETHING is the mark of faithlessness.

It is precisely what King Saul did when he offered a burnt sacrifice himself because he was too impatient to wait on Samuel. He couldn’t just do NOTHING, right? I mean, there was a war going on, and he had to do SOMETHING. Right? Well, his inability to just be still and trust God was one of the main things that separated him from David. It was that sort of impatience that caused Saul to seek the counsel of the witch of Endor. Saul went seeking knowledge, and the only thing that he learned was that the next day, he and his sons would die and the very kingship that he had committed so many grotesque sins to preserve would be forever removed from his line and given to another. Think about it, Christians, and do not let it happen to you.

And if you are reading this and are unsaved, I encourage you to choose eternity with Jesus Christ over an eternity in the lake of fire and follow The Three Step Salvation Plan today!

John McCain Accepts The Endorsement Of Heretic John Hagee!

Posted by Job on February 28, 2008

First Huckabee, then McCain, who was on record in 1999 as stating that he did not want to overturn Roe v. Wade. McCain also has a long record of opposing many of the things on Hagee’s political and religious agendas. This just proves that the guy who denies the Messiahship of Jesus Christ, claims that Jesus Christ was killed by Rome for His political beliefs, prophesied that the United States would attack Iran in 2007 (and is still demanding that we attack Iran!) and preaches dual covenant theology is simply in it for the power and money.

So The Troop Surge Worked? How About A Christian Missionary Surge Then?

Posted by Job on February 16, 2008

According to the opinions of many regarding the Iraq Conflict, the troop surge has been a success. I will not dispute them. After all, critics of the way that George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld were handling the war stated that we needed more troops from the outset. When they did so, neoconservative defenders of the Bush administration stated that such critics – which included not only liberal Democrats but plenty of conservatives including John McCain and John McTiernan (author of “The Hunt for Red October”) – did not know anything about military strategy, were harming the war effort, were trying to undermine and embarrass Bush and Rumsfeld, and even was driven by a desire for the increased casualties that would result from exposing all those extra troops to unnecessary harm could then be used to turn public opinion against the war. And yes, the troop surge never took place and Rumsfeld never resigned until after the very people that had been calling for both from the outset took control of Congress in 2006. So the war supporters that can explain why we invaded Iraq in the first place or why we remained there after the public premise for our invasion was rendered moot, please consider these facts when you evaluate both the success of the surge and the person that ordered it.

Now as for the curiosity that the most ardent supporters of George Bush and his Iraq War policy (meaning that they both defended Bush when he was insisting against the advice of military experts that no surge was necessary and now insist that he deserves full credit for the surge that he unwillingly acquiesced to out of political necessity) are theologically conservative Christians: what are we to make of them? I am sorry, but I have not seen any command or precedent in favor of lending organized political support to state warfare policy in the New Testament. However, one thing that I have seen many such explicit commands and precedents in the New Testament for is the Great Commission. The New Testament directly repeatedly tells us that our primary responsibility is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation, people, tribe, etc. on the planet. Yet nearly 2000 years after that commission was given, there is an estimated 2 – 3 billion unreached people, a population several times greater than that of the entire world at the time that the Great Commission was given by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

So, should there not be a missionary surge to accompany this troop surge, both of men going into the field and the support that we give them in terms of prayer and finances? (Now when I stated “men”, it was not merely in keeping with my practice of favoring chauvinistic language. Rather, it was in recognition of the fact that TWO THIRDS OF MISSIONARIES ARE FEMALE!) Certainly there is, and I would hope that the Christians that have been so faithful in their support of the troop surge in Iraq would be the very ones to lead the way with their prayers, sacrificial giving, and also their own sons and daughters. Allow me to recommend my favorite missionary ministry, Gospel For Asia at http://gfa.org for starters.

Abrahamic Faith: Assassination Of Benazir Bhutto A Sad Loss Or New Beginning For Pakistan?

Posted by Job on January 15, 2008

My
friends have asked me of an assessment on the recent situation in
Pakistan with the saddened news of the slaying of Benazir Bhutto the
candidate for the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the forthcoming
elections. Normally, I don’t like to share my opinions of internal Pakistani politics but this time round I have decided to speak.

By
the way for those who perhaps may not be aware that my friend Jay Smith
an American apologist and scholar in Islam did visit Benazir in her
flat in London not so long ago to discuss the historicity of Yahushua
(Jesus) of the Bible versus the Qur’anic Isa (Arabic name used for
Yahushua) so I would say she had a clear cut message of the gospel
delivered to her house but sadly died as an unsaved Muslim as far as I
know. She was brought up in the echelons of Catholic
Convent schools the domain of the rich in Pakistan such as Jesus and
Mary convent and later to be educated in Harvard and Oxford.

First
of all we need to go back to the hay days of her father Zulfikar Ali
Bhutto who had ministers tortured and removed from the administration
that he did not like. Our Master Yahushua (Jesus) of
Nazareth said ‘do unto others as you would do to yourself’, it would
seem that Bhutto did not heed to that advise well later to be
imprisoned by General Zia ul-Haq who had him tortured and hanged.

Most
people are not aware that Benazir Bhutto was removed from Government
before by then President Lugari for corruption charges during 1996. Her husband Asif Ali Zardari is popularly known in Pakistani circles as Mr Ten Percent. In other words he allegedly owns what is claimed to be ten percent of Pakistan. He had all sorts of scandals and proven corruption charges levelled against him and have also served eight years jail term. Both
Benazir and her husband received hundreds of millions of dollars worth
of commissions on Pakistani Government contracts and creamed off what
they could to the West buying properties in England, France, and having
a large holding in Swiss bank accounts to the tune of 1.5 billion
dollars.
(My note: Sounds like the George Bush family to me. No wonder the National Review loved Bhutto, claiming that she is “pro – life.” Political conservatism is obviously anti – Christ.) Of course the people robbed were the Pakistanis
by these modern day thugs but who would care for the poor Pakistani
people after all they are nobody’s and soon people would forget their
struggles in life.

I
would not bemoan the death of Benazir Bhutto because she made many
promises to women about repealing the Hadood and Zina ordinances
(unfair rape/adultery charges against women)
. The Hadood
ordinance specified that a woman raped must produce four male witnesses
as per the Qur’anic law before a conviction can be brought. Can anyone see that happening? The
Zina ordinance specified that if an adult male had sexual relations
with a woman both being unmarried would either be stoned to death or
receives one hundred lashes.

Benazir used soft words but did not deliver on any of her promises in the past and neither would now. I
remember when she was last in power that young teenage girls were being
abducted by assailants in cars raped and then left for dead. The people were fed up of her government until she was ousted. It
was in this climate that the Pakistanis were willing to try anything to
stop the tide of violence and bloodshed and so they welcomed Nawaz
Sharif with an open arm. It was common knowledge that in
his steel factory his brother melted a whole Pakistani train for metal
and also anyone who would not be a yes sir to these guys would be
thrown in the smelting works never to be seen again. We heard many such horror stories that the news would dare not report.

It
was during Benazir’s last government that the Taliban rose to power
largely funded by her government thanks to the US Clinton
Administration and governed and orchestrated by the ISS secret service
of Pakistan and blessed by the whore of Babylon to fight the soviet
union but the Frankenstein Monster turned on the US that help create
them.
Benazir has been full of broken promises. One
may feel the sad loss of a mother to her children but to the nation of
Pakistan it is no big loss, the people of Pakistan will overcome this
and move forward. The crying you see on TV is largely her supporters and not the whole nation. The
Christians in Pakistan did favour her but to be honest I have seen more
good done by Gen. Musharraf in Pakistan than any previous government. In my opinion Pakistan needs a steady secular dictator lined up with the West and that is the only way to run that nation. Look
what happened to Iran when a secular dictator was removed and then hard
Islamic governments came in and today people worry about Iran and a new
nuclear threat.
(Same thing Ron Paul says. Oh well.) I am afraid Western beaurocrats would
never understand why Muslim nations thrive on dictatorships and droop
with democratic leaders.
(Anyone still support the Iraq War?)

Who could have plotted to kill her?

Now I have to put my prophecy hat on. The
assassination of Bhutto came together like a Bollywood plot straight
out of a film play and had to be acted out by the one who was the
closest to her body after her death bemoaning her death and citing
revenge for her.
No, it was not Gen. Musharraf, we can at
least accord some respect to the secular dictator to control a country
like Pakistan who is a Muhajir (Muslim families who emigrated from
India in 1947) and it is believed that this is why the Benazir clan and
the elite circles in Pakistan hate Musharraf because they accord third
class status to Muhajirs.

When
Yahushua was crucified the one that betrayed him Judas Iscariot was one
also close to him yet was the son of the adversary and likewise many
fingers are pointing at Al-Qaeda but they only want to take glory for
someone else’s action. Since they did not enact the plan it is easy to take credit for what you have not done but someone else did. It
was not Imran Khan either as he is only a small player in politics in
Pakistan and the only thing he was capable of doing recently was
gathering supporters to incite violence in Pakistan for the alleged
shredding of Qur’an and flushing into toilets which brought about the
burning and looting of Kentucky Fried Chicken outlets and other Western
concerns to vent his frustration at his lack of success. Where
is Imran Khan and his holy sentiment when the Bible pages are torn by
Palestinians and used to clean excrement in Israel we would never know?

Behind
this plot is no other but the whore of Babylon, and that is not the US
Washington or New York City but Saudi Arabia and guess who came out of
the whore of Babylon by her consent and blessings to stand for election
and that my friends is the potential murderer.
You still did not guess his name? How about Nawaz Sharif. Surprised, none of the world has caught on to that yet. The
one who benefits the most out of all this political turmoil is non
other than him who belongs to the Muslim League Party, the man that was
brought into power last time by Gen. Zial Ul-Haq.
This man my friends is a firm advocate for Sharia in Pakistan. It may have happened had he stayed in power long enough last time around but it was not yet time.

Did you even remotely think of the possibility probably not?

So where does this take up scripturally?

Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the set-apart ones, and with the blood of the witnesses of ?????. And having seen her, I marvelled – greatly marvelled!

Where are we heading?

Gunfight at the OK corral, that is right. Pakistan
is being prepared for a take over like the Taliban style government and
Nawaz Sharif is the man for it with people in the government in that
favour and Saudi Arabia right behind it all.
Oh and by the way he is the sort of person who will bring Sharia in through the backdoor. Whether
this is the right time for Pakistan to go radical or not only time will
tell but so far prophecy has proven conclusive that Pakistan is heading
prophetically to line up with the major Muslim nations of the world to
help attack Israel and it does not need to go as a Sharia nation to do
this
.

Remember
the Anti-Messiah nation hates the desire of women so Benazir was one
such woman whose only desire was for self and that was certainly not
acceptable by Saudi Arabia
. Even the little that Benazir
could have done was a threat to the Saudi Muslim society and for all
Muslim women in the world would cause anarchy and that could not be
allowed to happen by the whore of Babylon.

Dan 11:37
and have no regard for the mighty ones of his fathers nor for the
desire of women, nor have regard for any mighty one, but exalt himself
above them all.

One
thing is certain that behind Pakistan’s politics is not the US but
powerful Muslim nations of the world and Saudi Arabia has had a hand in
since the days of the creation of the Islamic Nuclear Bomb when planes
full of money used to land in Pakistan to make this happen during
Benazir’s father’s government.

Christian churches and monasteries bombed this week as Iraqi Christians are threatened with extinction

Iraqi Christian churches and monasteries bombed this week as Iraqi
Christians face persecution and are threatened with extinction

By Michael Ireland Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CALIFORNIA
(ANS) Religious persecution continues in Iraq as nine Christian houses of worship were bombed this week.

According to
Christian Solidarity International (CSI), the attackers used both car
bombs and explosive charges in an effort to wipe out churches and
monasteries in Baghdad, Mosul and Kirkuk. At least six people were
wounded.

Concerned
not only about saving lives and securing the country for Christian
refugees to return home, CSI foresees the possible “extinction” of the
Christian community in Iraq. Working to turn the tide, CSI is launching
“Save Iraqi Christians,” a movement calling for greater action against
the crisis facing Christians in Iraq.

CSI
is providing emergency humanitarian aid, including food and basic
items, to help these peaceful victims survive but they also need
physical protection. The organization is working to prevent the
extinction of Christians in Iraq — either through death or forced
emigration.

“I
received in Iraq accounts of a devastating wave of bombings,
beheadings, kidnappings, death threats, vandalism and discrimination
against Christians in Iraq who are persecuted by their own countrymen
— Sunni, Shiite and Kurdish extremists,” said Dr. John Eibner, CEO of
Christian Solidarity International (USA).

As
a result of this persecution, approximately half of Iraqi Christians —
400,000 — have fled the country since 2003. Many of those who remain
in Iraq are internally displaced. Prior to the fall of Saddam Hussein,
Christians made up approximately three percent of the country’s
population.

“Now
is the time for America’s Christian leaders to intensify efforts to
protect Christians in Iraq and urge the U.S. government to help Iraqis
practice their faith freely and openly,” said Eibner. “We’re urging all
people to join the effort to ‘Save Iraqi Christians.'”

For
more than 30 years Christian Solidarity International has been a voice
for victims of religious repression. The organization stands in
solidarity with persecuted Christian communities and works to ensure
every human being has the God-given right to choose and practice his or
her faith.

CSI
advocacy and humanitarian campaigns have contributed substantially to
the liberation of thousands of slaves and other Christian captives in
Sudan and throughout the world.

Based in Zürich, Switzerland, CSI has its U.S. headquarters in Westlake Village, California.

US Contractors Murder Christian Women In Iraq

Posted by Job on October 14, 2007

nytimes.com/2007/10/10/world/middleeast/10iraq.html

From another article: “Paul Bremer, our post-invasion viceroy and the recipient of a Presidential Medal of Freedom for his efforts, issued the order that allows contractors to elude Iraqi law, a folly second only to his disbanding of the Iraqi Army.” Lawlessness is as lawlessness does.

U.S Says Syria on Nuclear Watch List

U.S.: Syria on Nuclear Watch List, Cites Foreign Experts and Possible Contact With Suppliers
By NICOLE WINFIELD
The Associated Press
ROME

A senior U.S. nuclear official said Friday that North Koreans were in Syria and that Damascus may have had contacts with “secret suppliers” to obtain nuclear equipment.

Andrew Semmel, acting deputy assistant secretary of state for nuclear nonproliferation policy, did not identify the suppliers, but said North Koreans were in the country and that he could not exclude that the network run by the disgraced Pakistan nuclear scientist A.Q. Khan may have been involved.

He said it was not known if the contacts had produced any results. “Whether anything transpired remains to be seen,” he said.

Syria has never commented publicly on its nuclear program. It has a small research nuclear reactor, as do several other countries in the region, including Egypt. While Israel and the U.S. have expressed concerns in the past, Damascus has not been known to make a serious push to develop a nuclear energy or weapons program.

In Washington, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack declined to comment on Semmel’s remarks but noted that the United States had long-standing concerns about North Korea and nuclear proliferation.

“We’ve also expressed, over time, our concerns about North Korea’s activities in terms of dealing with A.Q. Khan and others around the globe,” he told reporters.

McCormack said he was not aware of any countries making inquires to the United States about the link between North Korea and Syria.

Proliferation experts have said that Syria’s weak economy would make it hard-pressed to afford nuclear technology, and that Damascus which is believed to have some chemical weapons stocks may have taken the position that it does not also need nuclear weapons.

Semmel was responding to questions about an Israeli airstrike in northern Syria last week. Neither side has explained what exactly happened, but a U.S. government official confirmed that Israeli warplanes were targeting weapons from Iran and destined for Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that Israel had gathered satellite imagery showing possible North Korean cooperation with Syria on a nuclear facility.

North Korea, which has a long-standing alliance with Syria, condemned the Israeli air incursion. Israeli experts say North Korea and Iran both have been major suppliers of Syria’s missile stock.

Syrian Information Minister Mohsen Bilal told the Saudi newspaper Asharq al-Awsat on Thursday that the accusations of North Korean nuclear help were a “new American spin to cover up” for Israel.

Semmel, who is in Italy for a meeting Saturday on the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, said Syria was certainly on the U.S. “watch list.”

“There are indicators that they do have something going on there,” he said. “We do know that there are a number of foreign technicians that have been in Syria. We do know that there may have been contact between Syria and some secret suppliers for nuclear equipment. Whether anything transpired remains to be seen.”

“So good foreign policy, good national security policy, would suggest that we pay very close attention to that,” he said. “We’re watching very closely. Obviously, the Israelis were watching very closely.”

Asked if the suppliers could have been North Koreans, he said: “There are North Korean people there. There’s no question about that. Just as there are a lot of North Koreans in Iraq and Iran.”

Asked if the so-called Khan network, which supplied nuclear technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea, could have been involved, he said he “wouldn’t exclude” it.

Did The Jews Kill Christ or was Jesus a Victim of Identity Theft?

Posted by Job on September 12, 2007

From Randy Weiss of Crosstalk.com, who can be reached at randy@crosstalk.org and
www.ThePasionConspiracy.com

Did The Jews Kill Christ or was Jesus a Victim of Identity Theft?

Consider the facts:

* The Jews did not kill Christ because the Jews could not kill Christ.
They did not have legal authority in matters of capital crimes under
Roman law at that time.

* The Jews were a diverse group of 4,500,000 people spread out over
many nations of the world. They could not collectively make a single
matzah ball or take any solitary decisive action for which all could take
credit or all share blame.

* The Jews did not have power over God. The death of Christ was
according to God’s sovereign will according to the Scriptures.

*The Jews did not have control over a decision that belonged to Jesus.
Jesus laid His life down. Nobody took it from Him. It would be wrong
to depreciate His love by suggesting that the Jewish people, or other
groups of people were responsible for our eternal salvation. After all,
that is what Christ purchased through His death.

It seems to me that the folks who confuse these matters misunderstand
the real character and true identity of Jesus. Actually, many people
reinterpret the life and purpose of Jesus to fit their own agendas.
They recreate Jesus to fit a pattern they prefer. Perhaps that is what
happened in Mr. Gibson’s film.

The producers substituted bread for matzah in the Feast of Unleavened
Bread. Whether intentional or not, this error moved Jesus to a place
outside the flow of Judaism. It is well known that Jews were forbidden
to eat leavened bread during the time of Passover. To ignore this lowest
common denominator that Jesus shared with the Jews of His community
is to ignore that He was a faithful member of the Jewish community.
If He can be extricated from His situation in life as a Jewish man in the
first century, He can be recreated and recast in anyway that anyone
chooses. In essence, He could be molded to fit the need anyone wished
for Jesus to fill. But Jesus does not change at our insistence; we change
at His. God does not change; He is perfect. We must change because
we are imperfect. This may seem like an abstract philosophical concern,
but it is not. It is a fundamental truth and we must let Jesus be Jesus.
If we are permitted to modify Him to suit our fancy then we become God
and He becomes our servant. That is why I refuse to ignore that the Last
Supper was a traditional Jewish Passover. To make it less is to rob Jesus
of His heritage on this earth. Of course that is the pattern for many
Christian traditions. Leonardo Da Vinci had the same problem when he
was commissioned to create The Last Supper for the Convent of Dominican
friars at Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. If one looks carefully at this
most famous religious painting, the traditional Gentile dinner rolls will
become evident.

Jesus was born into the line of Jewish kings. Christians believe He is King
eternal. Had He been born into a non-Jewish home, He would have been
discredited from inheriting this throne. The prophetic mantle would have
remained unfulfilled. Had He sinned in His dietary regimen eating food
not kosher for Passover, He would have been disqualified as a perfect
sacrifice and the Cross would have been pointless in the Father’s plan of
salvation. If we ignore the small details of the food Jesus ate at His final
Pesach seder, it becomes easier to ignore other details, such as the clothing
Jesus wore.

Consider what the poor woman with the issue of blood would have done
if the wardrobe designer from Mr. Gibson’s film had outfitted our Savior?
She touched the ?hem? of His garment and was healed according to
Matthew 9:20. To the uninitiated reader, it might seem that Jesus wore
Levi Docker slacks and the woman grabbed the neatly turned, starched
hem of His pleated trousers gently draping over His penny loafers.
Of course that would be quite ludicrous to suggest because everyone
knows Jesus did not wear slacks. Would dressing Jesus in slacks be
anymore foolish than presuming He disobeyed the commands of
Numbers 15:38 and disregarded wearing His tallith with the proper
long tsithith?fringes in the corners? According to Jewish practice and
the best scholarship, it is these fringes that the women touched. It was
not the hem of His trousers, it was the borders (corners or wings) where
the tsithith hung.

If we can quietly allow Mr. Gibson to separate Jesus from His Jewish
food and His Jewish dress, we can begin to disentangle Him from His
other Jewish characteristics. That is why the subtitle of this book asks
the question, Did the Jews Kill Christ or Has Someone Stolen His Identity?
The Jews are not to blame for His death. I believe He lives! There is no
body. The accusation of murder is a moot point in light of the Resurrection.
The crime is in how Jesus is usually represented. Many groups have stolen
His identity.

That is how the founder of The Great Passion Play of Eureka Springs,
Arkansas, promoted Jesus. He presented images of a blond-haired,
blue-eyed, WASP Savior. Jesus was the victim of identity theft.
He stole the true identity of Jesus and created a fairy tale Christ invented
in his vain imagination. The Bible commands us not to worship false
gods, yet that is what happens when we worship an idea of God that is a
fabrication. This can happen quite easily if we become distracted from
worshipping the God of the Bible and begin to serve an illusion about God
presented by false teachers.
