Mike Huckabee’s Religious Right Crackup: Why The GOP Establishment Truly Loathes Him

Posted by Job on December 21, 2007

First, you had Roman Catholics declare that evangelicals had BETTER back Mitt Romney or be declared bigots. Second, you had evangelicals going after Mitt Romney. Third you have Pat Robertson endorsing Rudy Giuliani. Fourth you had Mike Huckabee’s rise after his outstanding debate performances, especially the Youtube one. Fifth, you had the hateful Mormon reaction towards Huckabee’s rise, aimed not so much towards Huckabee as his evangelical supporters. Sixth, you had the GOP leadership attacking Huckabee for basically having the same positions as Giuliani and Romney (yes, we know Giuliani openly courted illegal immigrants and blocked enforcement attempts by federal officials, and that Mitt Romney raised taxes and negotiated and signed a $50 abortion universal healthcare plan that will lead to more tax increases in the future, but it was OK when THEY do it because THEY are so like electable or principled or something and Huckabee is not!). Now, we have the clearest example of why the GOP establishment hates Huckabee: the tiff between Roman Catholics and evangelicals. Now the last Vatican Council closed the rift between Catholics and mainline Protestants. Billy Graham and religious right politics brought Catholics and mainstream respectable evangelicals closer together.

But it appears that Huckabee has no interest in being a mainstream respectable evangelical leader like Billy Graham, who sat right before Richard Nixon and did not raise a single voice of objection or even silently get up and leave when Nixon was ranting racist statements in his presence (please keep in mind that Graham is regarded as a civil rights leader) against not only blacks but also the low income whites that made up the bulk of Graham’s most faithful followers. Now if Huckabee were willing to play ball, he could have simply gone to the powers that be and gotten himself a fistful of cash. As it is, Huckabee is going his own way, and it is not a way that pleases the Vatican.

Take Mike Huckabee’s visit to the “church” of John Hagee, whom IndependentConservative has labeled the biggest heretic of 2007 for his preaching a form of dispensational pretribulationism that is so extreme that it denies Christianity. Now Hagee does appropriately oppose the Vatican, but only in a distorted fashion that supports his own devil’s doctrines. But even that is too much for the supporters of the replacement of God on earth, so now we have the National Review’s token minority, Roman Catholic Kathryn Jean Lopez, demanding that Mike Huckabee NOT preach at John Hagee’s church on the grounds that it would divide the Republican Party. Quoting Lopez with my comments, as usual, in italics and parentheses:

With great power comes great responsibility. And Mike Huckabee, once and future Baptist preacher, could afford to watch where he’s taking to the pulpit. That’s “future” because the former evangelical pastor will be at John Hagee’s Cornerstone Church on Sunday. According to a San Antonio Huckabee meetup site, Huckabee will be speaking at two Sunday services at the Texas megachurch. He’ll be making the appearances just days after he told CBS News that “It’s not like [I’m] stepping from the pulpit last Sunday and running for president.”

But maybe next Sunday . . .

The problem with this particular church is its pastor. It is no secret that evangelicals and Catholics have their theological differences. If we didn’t we’d all be under the same church roof like once upon a time. But Hagee has been particularly outspoken beyond his Cornerstone Church, as a supporter of Israel and a prolific writer. His activism has brought some attention to his views on the Catholic Church. In Hagee’s “black history” of the Catholic Church, for example, Catholics were far from only guilty of sins of omission when it came to the Nazis, they also gave Hitler his blueprint, according to Hagee. In a speech this year, Hagee pointed to the Catholic Church as having provided the jumping-off point for the Holocaust, claiming: “That was really drawn by the Roman church. [Hitler] did not do anything differently. He only did it more ruthlessly, and on a national scale.” (This is where Hagee’s doctrinal history is wrong; the Lutheran Church in Germany, which by that time had become a typical secular liberal “Christian values” state church, fully endorsed and supported Hitler to the point where they proclaimed that God had raised up Hitler to restore Germany to greatness. Liberal theologian Karl Barth’s claim to fame was opposing the Lutheran Church in this matter and being proven right by history, even if Barth was right on little else.) The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights has long been concerned about Hagee’s rhetoric, calling him a “veteran bigot,” accusing him of distorting Catholic teachings and misrepresenting Church history. The League has cautioned that, “Tone matters … and Hagee’s tone is nothing but derisive.”

Hagee is politically active and has had candidates at his church before and is likely to again. It’s probably only natural that Huckabee would be among them. And certainly other candidates have courted or been endorsed by religious figures who are not known for their ecumenical diplomacy. But after weeks of being a divider, not a uniter — pretending to innocently raise questions about Mormon theology to a New York Times reporter, informing Today Show viewers that he is really the choice for evangelicals — Huckabee should be sensitive to his unnecessarily exclusionary tactics.

As the former governor of Arkansas, successor to the Little Rock Clinton administration, Mike Huckabee above all people should understand the importance of having a strong coalition to BEAT HER in the fall. Speaking like a man seeking to be president of evangelical America, not president of the United States, Huckabee told Meredith Vieira earlier this week: “There’s a sense in which all these years the evangelicals have been treated very kindly by the Republican party. They wanted us to be a part of it, and then one day, one of us actually runs and they say, ‘Oh, my gosh! Now they’re serious.’” (Of course, this is precisely how non – evangelical supporters have been acting towards his campaign. None of them have even so much as stated that they want to see an evangelical in this race or any other. Quite the contrary, they have made a point of making it clear that they prefer Mormons or even secular candidates to evangelicals at every turn.)

Huckabee, meanwhile, is leaving some non-evangelical conservatives wondering, “Oh, my gosh. Maybe they never wanted to be allied with us.” (No mention that evangelicals are wondering the same.) Huckabee is working right now, intentionally or not, on breaking down a winning coalition of religious conservatives. (Right. The previous traditions of having religious conservatives voting for necromancers like Ronald Reagan and universalist occultists like George H. W. and George W. Bush was so much better, just like everything would be just fine were religious conservatives to vote for Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney now.)

When Pope John Paul II died in 2005, some of the most moving statements coming out of congressional offices were from evangelical conservatives who viewed him as an important leader in defending the sanctity of human life. (Again, you would be fine with evangelicals supporting pro – death Roman Catholic Rudy Giuliani, don’t you? Of course you would.) Many of them had adopted his “culture of life” language and thinking. (Sure, as if evangelicals hadn’t been using that phraseology for decades.) They saw him as an ally and were inspired by his leadership. They joined him, despite theological differences, in important cultural and political fights. It was and is a natural pairing. (It was never a “pairing” but rather Rome using evangelicals to gain power for themselves, a situation that you wish to preserve.) Mike Huckabee, who is not a conservative on all things (Rudy Giuliani is not a conservative on anything but do you mention him? no because he is from New York and a Catholic), but is on social issues, should know that and treasure and protect and foster these alliances. He’s a riveting speaker who could rally social conservatives, at least to whip them up to fight another day. (There. You said it. That is what you want. You have no desire to see an evangelical ever become President or a legitimate leader in the conservative movement. Your only desire is to create another pawn to replace the compromised or fading Pat Robertson, James Dobson, Ralph Reed, etc. to deliver votes to you people.) Instead, he’s executing a divide-and-conquer strategy. (Speaking of “divide and conquer”, what are the many Republican Jews that love John Hagee going to say about your demands that Mike Huckabee not speak at John Hagee’s church because a conservative Catholic insists on a revisionist form of the Holocaust favorable to the Catholic Church be adhered to?)

When Mitt Romney was convinced he had to give a “Mormon speech,” he gave a speech about religious liberty and America. It wasn’t, in other words, about him. Of course, that was, in part, a political calculation — how much could be gained by talking about Mormon theology during a political campaign? But it was also just the right thing. (OK, so willfully deceiving people on matters of faith in order to get them to vote for you is the right thing to do. Gotcha. Thanks for admitting that this is precisely what the GOP has been doing to evangelicals for all these decades and you are angry at Huckabee for not willing to keep the scam going.) It’s a political campaign and people want to hear about his political thinking — what America means to him and how he fits into it all, what he can offer Americans in terms of leadership. (No, evangelicals want to hear him stop claiming that Mormonism is Christianity because unless he does he shows that he has no respect for the same Christians that he hypocritically demands respect from, and is fundamentally dishonest and cannot be trusted in office, as if his betraying the Massachusetts voters by flip – flopping on every single social issue did not demonstrate that already. Ironically, Roman Catholic religious right commentators like yourself and Bob Novak claim that Mitt Romney’s being able to lie and get away with it to the voters of Massachusetts is precisely why evangelicals should support him! In reality, Roman Catholics could care less about whether Romney is going to go back on his promise not to use the White House to promote Mormonism, because they know that relatively few Roman Catholics convert to Mormonism as opposed to huge numbers of evangelicals, and as a matter of fact I would bet they get some sort of perverse pleasure out of seeing evangelicals become Mormons.) Since Mike Huckabee has found himself at the front of the Republican field, it’s been more The Mike Show than not. (And that is different from the other candidates in the race how? Oh, that is right. Only the other candidates are supposed to run races with an actual expectation of winning. Everything evangelicals are supposed to do is to promote the GOP while receiving absolutely nothing in return.) In a treadmill interview with the New York Times earlier this week, he claimed “I’m being questioned about the details of my faith like no one else.” Mitt Romney and Barack Obama might legitimately argue that point, Gov. He’s cast aspersions on another candidate’s religion. (You mean like you are doing his right now?) He’s highlighted hostilities among evangelicals and others in the Republican party. (You mean like you have done with about four or five of your own columns including this one?) If he keeps this up, he’s going to do some unholy damage. (You mean force evangelicals to admit that the GOP is never going to push their agenda and that they have been taken for a ride all this time?)

With all due respect to Hagee and his congregation (who are, of course, entitled to believe and say as they choose), Mike Huckabee should cancel his Sunday plans with Hagee. It can be his Christmas present to his party — to hold it together instead of continuing to tear it apart. (No, even if he does cancel this visit, you will still tear down Huckabee’s campaign by claiming that evangelicals are a bunch of ungrateful dumb bigots like you have been doing for the past month. What you are doing is demanding that evangelicals not fight back.)

This is really what it is all about: Huckabee’s populist economic rhetoric. While Huckabee has not overtly come out against free trade and other forms of economic globalism (regrettably he has done the contrary) Huckabee has been more than willing to rally and exploit the feelings of those harmed and alienated by economic globalism. That was why hypocrite heretic Ron Paul went after Huckabee: he and the Huckster are going after some of the same people. But in doing this, Huckabee is treading on very dangerous ground for the GOP. The left has for years pointed out how the GOP has maintained the support of low – income whites despite their pro – rich and pro – corporate economic views by baiting Hollywood (and our universities) as bastions of anti – Christian elitism. And they are right. But this is the trick. The GOP bashes the liberal PROFESSORS at these universities, not the corporations that endow their chairs and give these universities tons of money. The GOP bashes the liberal Hollywood ACTORS, DIRECTORS, and SINGERS that create anti – Christian movies and songs, NOT Sony, Time Warner, Disney, etc. that have made the conscious decision to pervert the masses.

By keeping the focus on Madonna, they draw the spotlight away from the fact that no one would have heard of this woman in the first place had corporate America not signed her to a record deals, constantly bombarded us with her music, videos, and movies, and continued to keep her in the public eye even after her many artistic and commercial failures (of which she has actually produced more of than her successes). You hate MTV? Good for you. But what about the corporation that owns MTV, and the other corporations that carry it as part of basic cable or satellite? You hate pornography? Good for you. But the Internet pornography industry would dry up overnight if the big banks stopped allowing their credit cards and similar to be used to support this stuff. And then there is the fact that many things vital to conservatism including Fox News are owned by the world’s biggest pornographer Rupert Murdoch!

So when one looks at it, the anti – corporate message (and by that I mean amoral unaccountable global corporations that not only are only interested in money but seem to have figured out that the more they do to destabilize cultures in nation – states the more power they have to control the governments and markets in these nations … if you have a population that is strung out on porn, rock music, sports gambling, and unhealthy foods whether we are talking about the high fat high sugar junk foods or the even more harmful chemically engineered health foods for the body image worshiping diet and exercise fanatics a corporation can easily manipulate it to maximize its power and profits) is actually a pro – Christian, pro – family, and pro – freedom message. What the GOP and the religious right have done is successfully convince white evangelicals that big government is evil (which is true because the Bible says so) BUT THAT BIG BUSINESS IS GOOD (when the Bible says opposite).

Now initially, Jerry Falwell and a lot of the others understandably signed onto the “business is good for Christianity” message to oppose communism, and that is understandable, as in addition to the external threat of the Soviet Union communism was a huge INTERNAL threat as well. But in the process, these folks forgot that the definition of fascism according to Benito Mussolini is “the corporatization of government power.” If you read Daniel and Revelation, the anti – Christ regime and the regime of the great harlot Babylon is not a communist one but a hypercapitalist fascist one where any filthy perversion that one wants can be had at the right price. Also, consider the figure of the false prophet … the anti – Christ’s rule will not be based on atheist Marxist ideology but will include a false religious ideology that will be very important to it. Religious right leaders at the time claimed that the atheist and Marxist doctrines of communism was a religion in its own right, and while I do not disagree, what the eschatological scriptures of the Bible seem to point to resembles much more closely the emperor/sun worship of the Roman Empire or the state religion of fascist Nazi Germany. So it appears that the Christian leaders that hopped onto the pro – business agenda of the Ronald Reagan (who was the first president to have official diplomatic relations with the Vatican) GOP in their zeal to oppose communism might have actually enabled a worse evil. And then you have the fellows that came up after Falwell: Pat Robertson and James Dobson. Pro – business religious right politics was very much in the interests of building their own financial empires … Robertson is reportedly a billionaire (and you know that with his many oil interests he is not the least bit concerned with how the tripling of the price of gas under the Bush administration has harmed the poor) and though Dobson’s finances are not as well known the fellow is obviously extremely wealthy.

But at what cost? China has cast off Maoism because they have discovered that one can become a more powerful and effective aggressor and imperialist using economics than with a military, and is also experimenting with a version of state – sponsored false Christianity that they find is useful to their purposes, and Pat Robertson is helping them in that regards. In Russia meanwhile Vladimir Putin has for all intents and purposes made the Russian Orthodox Church a state church, and the Through The Bible ministry reports that both are working together to oppose evangelical outreach efforts in that nation, and we also know how aggressively Russia has used economics to pursue its own interests. And yes, some would add Israel to that mix. “Christian Zionists” like John Hagee and Pat Robertson do their best to prevent you from knowing this, but Zionism was originally a secular socialist movement, and as such Israel was originally a secular socialist state, but over the decades Israel has become increasingly theocratic and aggressively capitalist. It is interesting to note that their relations with the Vatican have greatly improved during that time. It is even more interesting to note that so has their relations with supposed anti – Catholic evangelicals such as John Hagee. Prior to this, Israel’s support came mostly from the Christian left and the secularists (who have now largely shifted sides to the Palestinians).

So what does this have to do with Rome? Well, the Roman Catholic Church supports globalism. Always has. Now originally, even after Constantine made Christianity the church of the Roman Empire, the bishop of Rome did not have ultimate authority over the church and considerable influence over state matters. As a matter of fact, no one even claimed that the bishop of Rome should have this authority until Leo the Great in about 450 AD (Constantine’s Council of Nicea was 325 AD), and when he did there was considerable resistance from not only the state but the church also! It was not until 150 years later when Gregory I achieved virtually any of what Leo the Great first asserted for the bishop of Rome, and hundreds of years more until the bishop of Rome achieved primary (though not full) power over the church and enough over the state to crown Charlemagne emperor (by Leo III, the namesake of the first fellow to assert full power for the bishop of Rome).

Leo III had reasons for doing so that fit the modern globalist agenda quite nicely. Not only was there substantial opposition inside the church to the growing power of the papacy, but there was state opposition too. The solution: reduce the number of states! That was the result of declaring Charlemagne the sole political ruler of all of the territories that the church saw fit to lay claim to in the west (the eastern church and its lands was a different, more complex story). All dissenters faced the full force of Charlemagne’s army. This was in the papacy’s interests because even having to deal with one secular ruler that proved to be hostile was preferable to dealing with many rulers with varying degrees of support for and opposition to the bishop of Rome. Propagating the power of the bishop of Rome was what was really important, not the attitudes of a particular leader who incidentally can always be replaced (isn’t that right Saddam Hussein?).

So while the nations of this world still have their powerful armies, that is not where the real power in today’s world lies. No, that power rests with 1) financial markets and 2) technology. And just as it was in the 9th century, the more distinct economic and political entities there are, the harder it is for any one person or group that wishes to assert central authority. Despite what we still choose to call or regard ourselves, the net effects of things like global corporations, economic integration, participation in international governing bodies, treaties, and open immigration is the removal of these distinctions. The result is that when individual nations – and the people in them – have less power, stateless global rulers have more. The best part is that whether you sign your national sovereignty away by allowing EU style full economic integration, with a series of military and economic treaties to the United Nations NATO and similar, having an open immigration policy (or simply refusing to enforce your border and not punishing nations like MEXICO that commits economic and cultural acts of war by actively encouraging, aiding, and abetting their citizens – and anyone else – in crossing it) or by simply handing the keys over to AOL Time Warner and British Petroleum and allowing them to run the show, the end result is actually the same. Anyone who refuses to play ball, it seems, either winds up assassinated or seeing their nations turn into economic and political basket cases. If you have huge reserves of oil, uranium, or gold you can stave it off for a time, but only for a time. Never forget that Pat Robertson did urge George W. Bush to assassinate Hugo Chavez, for instance.

Now the folks behind all this are rather crafty. They know that universal acceptance of this situation in this day and time will not come. So what do they do? They take half of their agenda (say corporate globalization by monopolies) and promote it to the right, and then take the other half (unrestricted immigration and global warming treaties) and promote it to the left. Then contrive (and contribute to) a bunch of hot – button issues (i.e. racism, which these folks contribute to by disseminating racist images of blacks to through the media that causes whites to fear the images and blacks to conform to them … by the way the founder of Black Entertainment Television Bob Johnson became a very rich man in a short time thanks to federal rules forcing cable companies to carry BET on basic cable, and please note that both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have Bob Johnson on their speed dials) that keep the two opposing groups so distracted by emotionalism that its members cannot recognize that they were really advocating opposite ends of the same agenda, and causes them to completely ignore it when both groups push precisely the same thing.

The Democrats that opposed NAFTA when George H. W. Bush first proposed it joined in the mocking of H. Ross Perot and later supported it when Bill Clinton enacted it. And the Republicans that called Bill Clinton a communist traitor for working so hard to get China into the WTO – including evangelicals that opposed China’s persecution of Christians not in their state church – either said nothing or supported George W. Bush’s finishing Bill Clinton’s job of getting China into the WTO. NRA – type conservatives that successfully defeated Bill Clinton’s version of the Patriot Act after the Oklahoma City bombings but were either silent or generally supportive of George W. Bush’s Patriot Act after September 11th, which either the Clinton or Bush administration could have easily prevented. Now these same NRA – type conservatives are almost certainly going to back either anti – gun Mitt Romney or anti – gun Rudy Giuliani because one of them is “the most electable” against the even more anti – gun Hillary Clinton. And so on.

Meanwhile, the various interests groups of these camps that think that they oppose each other are conditioned over time to accept just about anything. For instance, had Jimmy Carter signed welfare reform in the 1970s, there would have been a massive leftist uproar. But after the perceived horrors of the Reagan administration and the threat of Newt Gingrich, Bill Clinton was able to invite an overweight black single mother to the welfare reform bill signing without a peep from a single black leader other than Juan Williams. In a similar fashion, had Reagan appointed an openly homosexual man to be his AIDS czar with his vice president refusing to support a political war against gay marriage (and his own homosexual daughter goes on to become “a parent” with her lesbian partner) with Nancy Reagan stating on the Today Show that Roe v. Wade should not be overturned, it would have led to an evangelical walkout from the GOP. But Bush does these things and more and evangelicals remain his most loyal supporters, and now prominent evangelical leaders are lining up behind either $50 universal healthcare abortion Mitt Romney who tried to run to the left of Ted Kennedy on gay rights or late term abortion supporting cross – dresser for gay pride parades Rudy Giuliani. It is also interesting that the frontrunners in both races: Obama, Clinton, Giuliani, Romney, are considered “moderates” whose primary function is to get members of their own globalist coalition to accept as much of the agenda of the (alleged) opposing side as possible.

And that goes back to why Huckabee is so hated. Right now, the dogma on the right is that it is completely unacceptable to oppose corporate America even if they replace as many American workers with foreign workers as they can, even if they adopt domestic partner benefits that the government then copies to write their civil union bills, even if they make tons of money by dealing with governments like Russia, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, China, etc., and even if their CEOs are brazen criminals that loot their companies for billions without any accountability. All Huckabee is doing is stating that, you know, maybe it is kinda sorta OK to oppose how these corporations have betrayed not only your personal financial self – interest but are daily committing acts of high treason against your own nation.

And that is making the GOP leadership apoplectic. MAYBE if evangelicals start resenting corporate America for outsourcing his job to India, relocating his son’s factory to China, and refusing to hire his other son for the construction job that would have paid his way through college or trade school because it can hire an undocumented Guatemalan for 1/3 the price, then they will start resenting corporate America for zealously doing business in these Marxist and Muslim nations that treat Christians so bad. And then MAYBE they will stop associating “Brokeback Mountain” and Madonna with the liberal Hollywood talent and media that produces and publicizes these abominations but the corporations that truthfully owns it all.

If that ever happens, the religious right will start thinking “Why am I so dirty, bruised, smelly, and disease – ridden? Oh, that’s right. I got into bed with the Rockefeller Wall Street Republican Party and then allowed it to do with me whatever it pleased.” And then the whole deal falls apart. Since joining up with the Democrats is not an option, you would see evangelicals leading – or joining – an effort to oppose the very sources that are undermining this nation – and let us face it the evangelical movement with it – that they are currently unwittingly supporting. Do not get me wrong, these people don’t REALLY fear a third political party movement. The multiparty parliamentary systems that Europe, Israel, and pretty much every “democratic” nation on earth have has not inhibited the globalist agenda that I am speaking of; if anything it has made it easier for them. Rather, it appears that what they most fear is a large group of unaffiliated yet active, engaged, and involved people. As a matter of fact, Gary North, a person prominent in the founding of the religious right says in The Silence Of The Fundamentalist Lambs at lewrockwell.com/north/north575.html (please read it even if you disagree with his theological views) asserts that the religious right was founded in large part by the same people who founded the religious left (including the civil rights movement!) precisely to make sure that the then – unaffiliated white evangelical and fundamentalist Christians chose a side. Since these people were successfully manipulated into supporting first Jimmy Carter in 1976 and Ronald Reagan in 1980, it really did not matter which side they chose so long as they picked one.

Now do not get me wrong. Huckabee, who is joined at the hip with the people who represent the worst of false evangelical Christianity (see Ties Between Mike Huckabee And John Hagee Discovered! He Also Has Ties To Kenneth Copeland, Tim LaHaye, And Rick Warren!) is not some contender for righteousness. Quite the contrary, Huckabee supported these people by going as far as to give scholarships to the children of illegal immigrants as a way of inducing their parents to move to Arkansas and work for Tyson Foods. Mike Huckabee also supported the Marxist National Education Association’s war against homeschoolers in Arkansas (see here and here). Now please note that Lew Rockwell is a pro – Ron Paul outfit and I regrettably have had to cease supporting him, so view it in that context, but everything that they say about Mike Huckabee is still nonetheless true. The national homeschool association endorsed Huckabee, but this was their reasoning: “When you understand he’s a Baptist minister, you don’t have to ask what he stands for.” With such logic the anti – Christ would be well – pleased! But it is very possible that the RHETORIC of Mike Huckabee might open some evangelical eyes that the GOP would rather remain wide shut.

Then again, it could be part of the game. After all, illegal immigration fighter Tom Tancredo, after helping scuttle an immigration deal that would have shut down the border over the fantasy that we could actually identify and deport 15 million illegal immigrants or even get most of them to voluntarily repatriate to Mexico, did endorse Mitt Romney yesterday. Calling it amnesty is one thing, calling it logistical reality is another.

Should Christians Support Waterboarding?

Posted by Job on December 12, 2007

Doing the usual routine, driving around listening to talk radio, and came across the Bill Bennett radio show. Its name? “Morning in America.” After, of course, the Ronald Reagan campaign slogan. Which was what, 27 years ago? Yet folks are still wrapping themselves around his name and administration to make money and earn a name for themselves, just like pro murder in the womb (and on the streets of New York City) Rudy Giuliani is trying to win the support of social conservatives by reminding everyone that he was the #3 guy in Ed Meese’s Justice Department, a fact that he never mentioned much while he was cross – dressing and attending the gay pride parades, using state money and resources to help him cheat on his wife, shacking up with a homosexual couple, making New York into a sanctuary city for illegal aliens, endorsing Mario Cuomo for governor, appointing Democrats to the judiciary, and brazenly declaring to the New York Conservative Party that he would NEVER back down from his principled support for late term abortions even if it meant costing them his endorsement and the 300,000 votes that came with it in what was expected to be a very close Senate race with Hillary Clinton (the Conservative Party stated that unless he agreed to oppose late term abortions, they would run a third party candidate, something that people like this National Review’s David Frum who claim with a straight face that he will appoint pro – life judges hope that you do not remember). Now please realize that Ronald Reagan was a former actor that signed the nation’s most liberal abortion law as governor, put two pro – abortion judges on the Supreme Court, gave illegal immigrants amnesty and generally refused to enforce the border, and whose wife was a certified witch who contacted astrologers and necromancers. Yet why do social conservatives revere Reagan? Oh, because he called America “the shining city on a hill” or something. Fine, except that it isn’t true. That is, unless you are a Mormon who has various doctrines about the garden of Eden being in Missouri and their Jesus coming back to make New Jerusalem somewhere thereabouts. Incidentally, Frum’s National Review just endorsed Mitt Romney, claiming that his deceiving the liberal voters of Massachusetts into thinking that he supported their socially liberal beliefs is actually A GOOD THING because he lied and flip – flopped for our side!

Yes, and that is precisely the same sort of “ends justifies means” thinking that is used to justify waterboarding to interrogate terrorists. A caller to the Bill Bennett show declared himself to be ex – military and gave the patented arguments in favor of the tactic. It is not physical torture but rather “only” psychological/emotional/mental torture that does no real harm. Sure, so all the people that we have in the psychiatric wards, since there is nothing PHYSICALLY wrong with them they are OK, right? So maybe we should let them all out of their institutions. Where would they stay? Hey, since there is nothing wrong with them, maybe they could go live with that guy! They could, you know, babysit his kids while he and his wife go out shopping. Well you go on and try that Mr. ex – military “psychological torture isn’t torture” fellow, and let me know how it works out for you.

And then he resorts to “the Geneva convention prohibition against torture does not cover terrorists.” That is true. But guess what? The Geneva convention doesn’t protect YOU either. Are you a member of an army of a nation that the United States is at war against that has surrendered or been captured on the field of battle? I am going to go with the mathematical probability here and say that if you are reading this, the answer is no. Then the Geneva convention does not apply to you. But I am a U.S. citizen (or citizen of some other sovereign nation) and are protected by laws that prevent me from being tortured, you might protest. And that would be true. Right up until when the government declares you a terrorist, which they can do to anyone at any time without probable cause and on the basis of “secret evidence” that may or may not exist thanks to the Patriot Act and similar provisions. By the way, please remember that the Clinton administration first proposed a scaled down version of the Patriot Act after the Oklahoma City bombing, and George W. Bush signed a greatly expanded version of it after September 11th. SoldierServant has the details here: The Bush – Clinton Dynasty courtesy of Pastor Chuck Baldwin, one of the few truth – telling preachers on political issues out there.

Consider this. Are you a Christian who believes that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, abortion is murder, homosexuality is a sin, unjust wars and oppressing the poor is wrong, gigantic welfare coercive states are evil, that a nation should have and defend borders, and that you have the right to own a firearm? Well, according to the Patriot Act, you are a terrorist. The groundwork is already being laid. I am no Mike Huckabee fan (quite the contrary, more of a Ron Paul guy for lack of better options),  but check out how Charles Krauthammer and so many other supposed conservatives that are allegedly friends of fundamentalist and evangelical Christians are trashing Huckabee for calling himself – gasp! – “a Christian leader.” And of course, you have tons of folks trashing Jeanne Assam, no doubt angry that the Colorado church shooter Matthew Murray was deprived of his chance to kill even more of us. So, how long will it take before things get to the point where Christians are getting the same treatment in America as they did in China not too long ago? Well, Christians, continue to defend things like waterboarding and you will be one of the people that helps it happen.

As with all else, it all comes back to the Bible. Christians, we are not to compartmentalize our faith. We are not to divide spiritual and secular. Instead, our faith should control every area of our lives and thought process so that we will not be conformed to the world or its ways (Romans 12:2). So, the question “Should a Christian support waterboarding” should be the same answer as “would you want it done to you?” The answer is Matthew 7:12: “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” That is called The Golden Rule, and please read an excellent exposition on it here: http://www.keyway.ca/htm2001/20010313.htm. So many Christians claim to believe in and love the Bible, but so few think that it actually has to be followed! (In fairness, though I am not a supporter of his, let me point out that one of the reasons why the establishment GOP opposes Mike Huckabee is because of his opposition to waterboarding. By the way, Mitt Romney supports torture. Hmmm ….)

Man Arrested And Jailed For Nonviolent Antiabortion Protest In Suburban Atlanta Georgia!

Posted by Job on November 28, 2007

ajc.com/metro/content/metro/gwinnett/stories/2007/11/27/abortiontruck_1128_web.html

Robert Roethlisberger, Jr. was charged with disorderly conduct and released after posting TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ON BOND! Please note that this arrest happened in Gwinnett County, Georgia, one of the most conservative (including pro – life) congressional districts in the country. So how did this happen? Well, the Atlanta Journal – Constitution stated in an oped piece that described how the loathsome thrice divorced family values advocate Bob Barr lost a Congressional race to John Linder (Barr chose to challenge Linder rather than run in his own district because redistricting added a few thousand blacks to his district … an even more conservative Republican without Barr’s history of race – baiting ran in his place and won easily) that it was a race between the “movement conservatism” of Barr – the type that Cobb County used to represent before a large influx of black, Hispanic, and liberal white residents from Fulton and DeKalb moved into the county – and the “big business conservatism” of John Linder. Such was why the national and state Republican Party backed Linder but Charlton Heston and other true believers backed Barr (see this link from Atlanta BUSINESS Journal).

And so we have the context: big business is what rules in Gwinnett. This fellow’s pro – life display was offending Christmas shoppers on Black Friday, the most critical day of the year in retail, at the Mall of Georgia, the most critical retail establishment for the Gwinnett County economy. So the destruction of the innocent unborn, cold depraved Holocaust style murderous sacrifices to Molech, took a backseat to the almighty dollar in Gwinnett County.

Which, of course, makes Gwinnett County no different from any other place in metro Atlanta. The first thing that I noticed after moving to the Atlanta after living in rural south Georgia and only somewhat more urban north Florida is our massive concentration of strip clubs. Right in the center of the Bible Belt. Now from my time in north Florida, I know that even with the courts claiming that pornography falls under first amendment protection, a city can prevent even so much as a topless bar from opening if it wants to. So why are these establishments open even well into the religious conservative suburban landscape? Well, Atlanta’s dirty little secret is that the reason why DESPITE having to compete with places where gambling is legal like Las Vegas and Atlantic City it is still a top 5 destination for convention and business travel has nothing to do with our museums, sporting events, amusement parks, arts scene, etc. but rather our notorious strip club scene, which is rivaled only by areas that have much larger populations.

Without the convention scene the Atlanta economy would dry up and blow away overnight. That is why NONE of the local or state “family values” leaders so much as lifts a finger or utters a word against any of those establishments so long as they do not open too close to a school or church. The only exception that I am aware of was a lone city councilman who mostly unsuccessfully (though he did win a few battles) tried to organize black churches against the clubs in response to a rash of violent crimes that they brought into their communities. And yes, this fellow was defeated in his last race for political office.

So pro – lifers and other social conservatives, the reason why your agenda is going nowhere is about MONEY. Even after the Reagan Revolution and the rise of the Moral Majority, the Christian Coalition, etc. that the real leaders of the GOP has remained the same: the Wall Street Republicans, which, according to the title that Colin Powell famously gave himself, are the ROCKEFELLER Republicans. The Wall Street or main street or country club or Rockefeller or whatever you call them Republicans have ALWAYS been socially liberal. In the 50s and 60s they supported civil rights. In the 70s and 80s they supported abortion. Now they support gay marriage and illegal immigration. And how interesting that in order for the “Reagan Revolution” to succeed, he had to get none other than George H. W. Bush to be his running mate. Said Bush succeeded him as president to be followed by his son 8 years later. And if Pastor Chuck Baldwin is to be believed (read The Bush – Clinton Dynasty), Bill and Hillary Clinton are extensions of that circle. (Why, for instance, did Hillary Clinton go to New York of all places to run for Senate? She is originally from Illinois and lived most of her adult life in Arkansas. Bill Clinton set up shop there too, and even the media did not even pretend that it was to be near his wife who as senator spends most of her time in Washington anyway. Well suffice it to say that the United Nations is in New York, and the reason for that is because that is where the Rockefellers wanted it to be.)

So who are the religious right leaders that know about this situation and mislead their evangelical Christian charges to follow the Rockefeller Republican agenda? Pretty much all of them. But to single one out, why not start with the billionaire Pat Robertson? He is very close to the Bush family and has now endorsed Rudy Giuliani, who lest we forget before becoming mayor of New York and enacting a policy that grotesquely violated the civil liberties of New York’s black citizens (including but not limited to gunning them down in the streets) was the #3 figure in the Ed Meese Justice Department in the Reagan – Bush administration.

So on black Friday Robert Roethlisberger, Jr. gave the good Christians in Gwinnett County a brief view of the true identity of the god that the area first worships – mammon – and was tossed into jail for his trouble. And this goes back to the universalist rain dance that Georgia’s governor Sonny Perdue led a couple of weeks back. As stated in my comment on it Sonny Perdue: More Republican Universalism, I have not been led to pray that our drought – stricken area receive rain. Perhaps one should not make anything of that. And the same Robert Roethlisberger, Jr. that was arrested for making a pro – life demonstration at the Sonny Perdue universalism rain witch doctor seance was the one arrested for exposing the mammon idolatry of Gwinnett County, a Sonny Perdue stronghold (in more senses of the word than one). Perhaps one should not make anything of that either.

Can We Do Anything To Speed The Return Of Jesus Christ? Why I Say NO!

Posted by Job on November 20, 2007

Up until very recently I sincerely felt that Christians could speed the return of Jesus Christ by doing works, such as spreading the gospel. But now I find out by reading “Messiah In The Old Testament” by the (rather liberal but still orthodox) Walter Kaiser out that the Pharisees had that same error. They were correct in presuming that their failure to keep the law resulted in their nation being sent into captivity and subjected to brutal subjugation. They were correct that the prophets who foretold their current fate also spoke of a coming Messiah. So then, what was their error? A perfectly understandable mistake: that if disobeying the law caused them to lose their nation, monarchy, and sovereignty, then keeping the law would cause these things to be restored by the Messiah that their prophets spoke of. Of course, the natural progression was that the Jews could speed the return of the Messiah by being VERY ZEALOUS, but that being “less than zealous” would hinder his coming. That is why their actions against Jesus Christ, who like John Hagee His being Messiah they rejected, were very understandable … they thought that His using His influence with the people to disobey their interpretation of the law was hindering the restoration of Israel and the Messianic age.

This belief did not die, incidentally. The reason why Jews went from tolerating Jesus Christ’s Jewish followers as a sect within Judaism (if an errant bothersome one … though they far from the only ones considered errant and bothersome) to expelling them from their synagogues as apostates and heretics was because they were ultimately scapegoated for the destruction of the temple in 70 AD and Jerusalem in 117 AD. Why? Because they were following the Man who taught them to disobey the law, causing God to punish us as He did in 586 BC. (Of course, this is not said directly, instead they say that the reason why the second temple was destroyed was “the lack of unity.”) And though this is similarly rarely spoken of, some Jewish leaders blamed the Holocaust on a number of Jews going after secularism and liberalism (Conservative and Reform Judaism) and a general failure to keep the Sabbath. And to this day, the goal of rabbinic Judaism is to cause God to grant the Jewish nation their Messiah.

Is it an oversimplification to say that the Pharisees were too preoccupied and self – assured in their doctrines that they could bring cause the Messiah to come through works that they did not recognize the Messiah when He came to them not by their works to do their Will but by God’s grace to do God’s Will? For it must be said: the Word of God says that if a man labors, he must reap the benefits thereof. If even the ox that treads the corn should not be muzzled, how much more so should a man that labors be? So the inevitable conclusion is that with anything that man produces with works, man can take some credit for it. Man can take some ownership of it. Man can have some control over it. As such, the Messiah produced by works would have been THEIR Messiah to do THEIR Will, even if only least in part. So when Jesus Christ came to do not their Will in any sense but God’s, and was so not owned by or beholden to man that He did no so much as have a human father, they rejected Him because He was not the creation of their own hands. Nay, He was not the creation of ANY, but rather the uncreated God, the Word of the Trinity.

That is why our own salvation cannot be the result of works. If we labored in any least sense, in any jot or tittle, then that would give us that much ownership rights and control over our souls. That would deprive God not only of His due glory, but His ownership rights as our sole creator and sole managers of our destiny. And since works produce works, it would give preachers and evangelists ownership rights over those converted by their efforts! Now imagine the effect of this … the great masses of the redeemed dwelling with God in heaven, not only with each having a claim on himself and many having claims on others, but the combined net worth effect of their collective claims! For eternity! (Believe in interest perhaps?) So I say “God forbid!” Such a thing cannot not be and will not be. What say you?

And that brings us to the Imminent return of our Lord and Savior Y’shua HaMashiach, better known as Jesus Christ. If it were possible to facilitate or speed His return by the gospel or any other works, we would have a claim on His Return and Him with it! Since all things were created by the Word (John 1:3) through Him we would have a claim on the entire creation. And since He is one with the Holy Spirit, we would through Him have a claim on the Holy Spirit. And since He is one with the Father, we would through Him have a claim on the Father. And because sinful man would have a valid legal claim on the Father, the Father would no longer be holy and no longer sovereign. The result? He would be a false god, no god at all! God forbid that such a thing should happen. So now, Christian, do you see the error of works based theology?

Yet works based theology is alive and well in Christendom, and it is not limited to the Roman Catholic Church. It is alive and well in the Protestant movement too. Let me give you three ways.

1. Tithing. The practice was for the Old Testament only and for a specific purpose: to support the priests who stood before God’s presence as man’s mediator. The Book of Hebrews tells us that Jesus Christ is our priest forever after the order of Melchisedec. From that, if you continue to tithe to your pastor or church, two things can reasonably be inferred. A. It is your pastor and your church and not Jesus Christ that is the mediator between you and the Father. Please realize that such is the position of the Roman Catholic Church. I cannot help but – after a somewhat whimsical fashion – wonder if Matthew 23:9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven” is a prophetic polemic against the Roman Catholic practice to come. B. That Jesus Christ either never came, never died, or never resurrected. Those who continue this practice in ignorance of the truth do so in ignorance of the truth. But to those that have come into the knowledge of the truth, new covenant giving is to be directed by 2 Corinthians 9:7 which reads: “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”

2. The prosperity/Word of Faith movement, where we are taught that we receive things from God not according to grace, but by works. The prosperity doctrine the works are actually somewhat indirect through obedience (to quote Jesse DuPlantis, “the prosperity doctrine is an obedience doctrine”) and compulsory giving (John Hagee teaches that those who do not tithe will have their wages cursed by God, and that you will receive a greater blessing for giving to Jews and Israel than elsewhere). But the Word of Faith movement is more direct in telling people that you can bit a bridle and harness in the mouth of God, hop upon His back, and drive and command Him to use His Power to control nature and history as you see fit! It was from Albert Pendarvis of http://www.radiomissions.org – who ironically is located a few miles away from Jesse DuPlantis – whom I first heard warn Christians against those preachers that were “commanding God, not respecting Him, and misusing His Name” in the charismatic movement, especially the faith healers. Of course I was a full gospel Kenneth Hagin Word of Faith/prosperity adherent at the time so I rejected him at the time, but now I must acknowledge the truth in his preaching in this matter. These doctrines deny grace and try to co – opt, manipulate, and control God.

3. Christian Zionism. If you are a dispensational pre – tribulation rapture doctrine adherent, I shall not speak against you for believing in that doctrine. What I do speak against is how so many pastors who hold this view teach that we can speed or facilitate the return of Jesus Christ based on it! For instance, some Christians are helping finance the return of Jews to Israel. But the Bible says that it is the Messiah’s job to do this in Jeremiah 23:3-6. Some Christians are helping Jews breed red heifers so that the Jews can restart their sacrifices in the temple. Why are we facilitating that which we no there is no profit but instead is a snare, an act of rebellion against everything that Hebrews says? Are we helping the Muslims practice their religion? Why not? Are they not the children of Abraham too? Are we aiding the Hindus, Mormons, and Scientologists in their abominations? Did Jesus Christ come in the flesh, die on the cross for our sins, and rise again on the third day or not? Did He do such a thing for the Jew first and then the Gentile or did He not? Are we ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Jews’ presence? For the Jews’ sake? Well what John Hagee is now preaching is merely the fruition, the logical conclusion of that mindset!

And speaking of John Hagee, it is not enough to speak of his dual covenant theology, though it is bad. Hagee, Robertson, and their fellow travelers use “defending Israel” as an license to justify whatever level of atrocity and militarization of the Middle East they desire. With Hagee, his running a “Christian AIPAC” gives a third tier televangelist from San Antonio great wealth and power. And as for Robertson, who does own oil interests, how much is his personal wealth increased by oil being over $100 a barrel? And how much higher will the price of oil go if our government assassinates Hugo Chavez as Pat Robertson suggested? How much higher will it go if we invade Iran as Hagee demands? Now Hagee prophesied (back when I was a fan of his show) that we would be at war with Iran by now and that Jesus Christ would come back a few months later. Put all the details in his best – selling books. A false prophet that no one has held accountable? Of course!

But consider what would happen if Hagee was RIGHT. That would mean that it would be possible for even crooks, liars, thieves, and false prophets to have a claim on God if works doctrines be true. Though they are false preachers, the gospel is preached through these fellows, and people are saved by it. But you can see the effects of people perceiving works doctrines to be true? These pastors have tens, possibly hundreds, of millions of people at their command, onward Christian soldiers marching to war! Blood, violence, disease, starvation, death, and poverty for the many. All for the profit of a few. Is that the gospel of Jesus Christ? Maybe a false Jesus Christ that you can own through works, but not the true Jesus Christ obtained only by grace. We are to show love to God’s people and His holy city, certainly, but the way that the Bible tells us to. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Support the legitimate needs of Jews out of love and obedience to God, not expecting blessings in return or in support of a political agenda. And to also give aid to the Palestinians so as to not show partiality.

So in the final analysis we must come to the conclusion that man can do nothing to speed the return of Jesus Christ. No one knows the day or the hour. Jesus Christ is returning when the Father sees fit. The sovereign God will determine when Christ will return. God is not hindered by man, He is not frustrated by man, He is not dependent upon man. God is sovereign. 2 Peter 3:9 declares that it is by the grace of God and not the works of man that has hindered the coming of Jesus Christ to this day, and it will be by that same grace that Jesus Christ comes to rescue the church from this life and punish all else for its uncleanness. Yes, it is said that Christ will not return until the gospel is preached throughout the world, and that does mean that evangelism and missionary work should be done in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth from the least to the greatest, the youngest to the oldest. But even that will not be our doing lest any man should boast, but rather God’s doing. I am going to co – opt the words that so offended the renowned missionary William Carey and say that when it pleases God to evangelize the world He will do it without your help or mine. He will do it without the ecumenical movements. He will do it without the TBN satellites that Paul Crouch asserted in one of his mass mailings was the angel flying around the world proclaiming the gospel in Revelation 14:6.

The sovereign God will do this by His grace! And when history comes to a close, all creation will see that God does not need us. Instead, it is we that need Him. The only question is whether people realize this in due time or in past time. Those who do so in due time will receive eternal life as a reward. Those who fail? Eternal wrath and destruction. Will you do so know? Will you bow before the Great King of creation, acknowledge that you need Him, and submit yourself to Him? I urge you to do so now, for tomorrow is not promised. There are many people that were here yesterday that presumed that they would be here today that are not. Are you better than they are? If so, how? I say this not to frighten or manipulate you but rather because I am concerned about you, and also because it is undeniably true. If you have not acknowledged the sovereignty of God, please do so. Follow The Three Step Salvation Plan right now.

Pat Robertson’s China Bans Visitors To Olympics From Bringing Bibles!

First, see the post

Pat Robertson Promoting The Chinese Government

to see why Pat Robertson endorsing pro – abortion pro – gay rights cross – dressing fascist Rudolph Giuliani is really no surprise. After that, see the video below to see why Pat Robertson’s claims that the persecution that China is placing on its citizens is overstated and misunderstood, and that the gospel is really spreading in STATE APPROVED CHURCHES THAT PREACH A NEW AGE PROSPERITY SELF ESTEEM PURPOSE DRIVEN FALSE GOSPEL THAT DOES NOT EMPHASIZE OR CENTER AROUND JESUS CHRIST!

The Unsaved Have More Discernment Over Mitt Romney Than The Religious Right

Posted by Job on October 30, 2007

See this (rather profane but you can take it … it isn’t like you haven’t heard it before and if you haven’t then it means that you are a fake Christian that has never done any evangelism) article: alternet.org/story/66068/. First, it is interesting to note that despite his getting virtually no credit for it, lots of people have read what Pastor Bill Keller had to say about Romney. Why? Because this is yet another article that makes a reference to the magic Mormon underwear thing, which absolutely no one was speaking of publicly before then. In any event, this will be the ONE Mitt Romney post that has NOTHING to do with his Mormonism.

It basically restates what I have been saying from the beginning on this weblog: “Christian values” are a demonic lie from the pit of hell, and the religious right leads Christians to reject the worship of Jesus Christ for the worship of state, capitalism, and military/police force. Kind of reminds you of emperor worship during the Roman Empire. Those of you that interpret the beast (anti – Christ) of Revelation to be the Roman Empire (either during that time from a preterism point of view or present/future as the Roman Catholic Church) take it however you want. This is yet another thing that proves that the religious right is an anti – Christ apostate movement. (IndependentConservative, as usual, does a better job of demonstrating this point by reporting the latest religious right universalist get – together, see Robert Schuller, Watering Down His Rotten Skim Milk Gospel Even More.)

First, the fellow endorses a Palestinian state. Do the dispensational Christians that believe that it is a sin to divide the land that God gave to the Jews with the Arabs care? Nope! Pat Robertson and Bob Jones (among many others) have endorsed the fellow. Which is no surprise since they backed George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush despite their having the same basic stance towards Israel as Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Quoting the article from a fellow that obviously hates Christianity:

Romney’s shtick … is to pitch himself as the “private sector” candidate, the one guy on either side of the field who can sell himself as a captain-of-industry type, familiar with the ins and outs of the global economy.

You can learn a lot about a candidate by what his leadoff line is, and in Romney’s case … he plunges right into his I-know-the-way-because-I’ve-made-@#$%-of-money act.

“The challenges we face are beyond the scope of just a politician,” he says. “It’s going to take somebody who’s been able to live in the private sector, who learns how the economy actually works, who knows how to get the job done. It’s going to take someone like that to get America on track again.”

He @#$% his global-economy credentials (“I’ve done business in some twenty different countries”). And most hilariously, he name-drops like a Hollywood press agent, giving the impression that he spends all his spare time smoking cigars at the Yale Club with Fortune 500 CEOs.

Romney explains how he settled upon his health-care strategy. “What happened is pretty interesting,” he says, laughing. “The founder of Staples came to my office after I was elected governor, and he said, ‘Mitt, if you really want to help people, you’ll find a way to get everybody health insurance.’ “

Only in America do audiences not burst out laughing when a guy worth $250 million gets up onstage and says he and his CEO buddies spend their spare time racking their brains to find ways to help people. “He strongly supports the private sector to solve our problems,” gushes Terry Dussault of Merrimack. “That’s very important to me.”The perception of Romney as a successful businessman who has made a vast fortune is seductive enough that it works for most audiences on the Republican campaign trail, even if they don’t really understand how exactly he made all that money.

Romney’s “business” wasn’t turning labor into product, it was turning money into money — and more than a few of his investments were of the scorched-earth variety, buying up companies and cashing out within three to five years, often after closing factories or laying off workers to beef up the bottom line.

But the devil’s-advocate approach paid off — most notably when Bain’s $650,000 investment in a single Staples store turned into an $18 billion chain. (Please note that it was Staples that told Romney to pass universal healthcare … so that big businesses could pass their employee benefit matches and copays onto the taxpayer … it amounted to a gigantic corporate welfare program.)

Despite this success, however, Romney moved Bain away from boom-bust venture-capital investments and into the darker world of leveraged buyouts, where the firm borrowed money to make deals. A typical example of Bain’s approach was its experience with another office-supply company called Ampad, which it acquired in 1992. In 1993, the company had $11 million in debt; by 1999, that number had grown to nearly $400 million, and the firm eventually declared bankruptcy. But despite Ampad’s failure, Bain made a fortune, raking in more than $100 million while driving the company into the ground and destroying hundreds of jobs in places like New York (where 185 people were thrown out of work in a plant closing near Buffalo) and Indiana (where the firm fired 200 workers from a paper factory).

Even more telling was Romney’s interest in a medical-testing firm called Damon Corp., which Bain bought in 1989. The company was eventually fined a record $119 million for defrauding the federal government out of $25 million, but Bain still tripled its investment on the Damon deal. And Romney, who was sitting on the Damon board at the time of the fraud (his claim that he was the one who called for an internal investigation has never been substantiated), made a personal profit of $473,000 on the deal.

In a delicious detail that says a lot about the nature of Romney’s morality, the investor had no problem making piles of cash off companies that executed mass layoffs or defrauded the government, but he balked when asked to invest in a Bain deal to acquire a video distribution company called Artisan Entertainment. “I didn’t want to profit from a studio that made R-rated movies,” he huffed. (Typical religious right morality as represented by the likes of BILLIONAIRE Pat Robertson, who rails against Hollywood while getting into the diamond trade with genocidal murderer Charles Taylor of Liberia.)

Keep in mind, people, Mitt Romney has a huge lead in Iowa, where the Republican primary is dominated by the religious right. He is not doing as well in the more libertarian New Hampshire, but he can also be expected to win South Carolina. How quickly these religious right folks forget James 2:2-9For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.”

As you can see, flocking to Romney because he is rich and promises to run our government for the rich is precisely the OPPOSITE AGENDA from what Christians should be supporting. But so many Christians have bought into the false gods of state worship and capitalism that these people do not even have the mind of God anymore. People actually associate amassing wealth by being a moneychanger (which lest we forget is precisely what a venture capitalist is) with Christian holiness!

Now the root of this is racism, by the way. Please recognize that the religious right did not really rise up to oppose the New Deal. Quite the contrary, the southern and midwestern Christians loved the farm subsidies, the education and homesteading programs, etc. Conservative Democrats in those days like Strom Thurmond, George Wallace, Orval Faubus, Robert Byrd, etc. used to lard away the pork, and convinced their citizens that “as good Christian people of the land they deserved it.” It was not until the Great Society programs began giving these same government benefits – and voting rights with it – to blacks that this “worship free market capitalism” ideology was born, and the religious right ran with it. In a very short time, conservatives went from saying (truthfully) that the Wall Street wealthy elites had wicked values that were against the church and the common man to worshiping the rich uncritically and handing them the keys to the country. It has long been known to the common people that the Wall Street sorts A) were socially liberal, B) preferred unitarian universalism to true Christianity, C) had warmongering fascist tendencies, and D) cared more about the international markets and organizations like the World Bank and the U.N. than America or its people. And they cast all that knowledge aside. Why? All because they could not stand the notion of a black person having the same opportunity that they wanted for themselves. Is that Christianity? Of course not. These folks clearly ignored the racial diversity of the early church as given in Acts 13:1. Because they were so intent on resisting the Holy Ghost, the truth of scripture, they went along with and laid the roots of this wicked movement. They elected Richard Milhous Nixon (nominal Quaker) who established the detente with atheist forced abortion Christian murdering China that the big business people wanted, and doing business with that evil regime, and teaching them how to add the evil of money worship to their existing evil of communism has been United States government policy ever since, under both parties.

Corrupt trees grow from corrupt roots, people, and they produce corrupt fruit. God is going to judge everyone by their fruit. If you want to come out of this evil and start producing good fruit, please follow The Three Step Salvation Plan!

Single Mom Jailed For Making Cop’s Hamburger Too Salty At McDonald’s

Posted by Job on September 9, 2007

See this link from the worst newspaper in the country: ajc.com/news/content/metro/atlanta/stories/2007/09/08/mcdonalds_0909.html?cxntlid=homepage_tab_newstab

20 year old girl accidentally spills too much salt on hamburger meat at McDonald’s; the restaurant makes decision to serve it anyway. Some of it gets sold to a police officer, who EATS THE ENTIRE BURGER. Later the cop gets ill, and goes back to establishment. And then, this is where the typical nonsense of arrogance of state power occurs. Quoting the article: “He talked to the restaurant’s manager, another employee and Bull, who admitted she spilled the salt on the burger. Bull said the officer asked her to step outside, where he continued to question her. “He told me it made him so sick it had to have something worse than salt on it,” said Bull. He asked me if I had ever had a bad experience with cops. Did I know it was a police officer that came through the drive-through? A whole lot of nonsense like that.” Bull said she didn’t know a police officer had ordered the burger because in the area where she worked, she couldn’t see out the drive-through window. (My note: as a former fast food employee myself, I can certify that this is true. A person who spends eight hours standing over a hot grill has no idea who is ordering the food.) The worker, Kendra Bull, 20, the mother of a 1-year-old, was arrested, handcuffed, charged with reckless conduct at 1:30 a.m. and spent the rest of the night in lock-up. Later Friday morning, after a court hearing, she was released on $1,000 bond.

And of course, the state is fully backing the actions of their officer. “Union City Police public information officer George Louth said Saturday that police talked to Bull and other store employees who told them Bull knew the burger “wasn’t properly prepared.” He said she was charged with the misdemeanor reckless conduct because she served it anyway “without regards to the well-being of anyone who might consume it.” The department is still investigating the case. Since the officer didn’t eat the entire Big N’ Tasty, there were samples to send to the state crime lab to find out what was in or on the burger that made Adams sick.

Of course, the state COULD have arrested this woman AFTER analyzing the burger to see if it was contaminated on purpose. But oh no. The state could care less about putting you in jail overnight for nothing. Oh yes, and everyone out there who has had a family member raped or murdered, I know that you are very glad to see that the critical analysis for your case is going to be delayed while they check to see the cause of some arrogant paranoid cop’s tummyache.

And this is the payoff, the best part of the entire article. Police Officer Wendell Adams could not be reached for comment.” Typical. Mr. Big Bad Police Officer, agent of the state, was man enough to throw a 20 year old single mom in jail because she put too much salt on his burger, but was too much of a COWARD to talk to the news about it?

Now you KNOW that if some cop were to make a “mistake” – as we all make them – and fill some innocent person (who always JUST HAPPENS to be a member of the economic underclass or a minority group) with bullets, the police unions and all of their “tough on crime” advocates will rush to their defense, arguing that it was a mistake, nothing should be done about it, they should be forgiven, and not only should they not so much as APOLOGIZE for their “mistake”, but instead should be hailed as heroes. But you see this, folks, is the other side. When someone else happens to make the mistake, and that mistake harms the pride and arrogance of an officer of the state, it is not to be countenanced! These very same cowards and criminals who hide behind a badge, a gun, and the power of the state will toss a kid in jail.

And this is the very same area where cops killed a grandmother that was over 90 years old in her own home in a failed drug bust. Where cops saw a young man with no criminal record drive into a motorcycle shop to pick up his birthday present be followed by the police and shot to death right in that very establishment. This is the very same Atlanta area where a woman’s home was burglarized, she calls the police to investigate, they make no attempt to find the burglar but instead see a small amount of cocaine on her nightstand, so that very same evening they raid this woman’s house (calling it a “crackhouse”), shoot her dead, and arrest the man that she had asked to spend the night with her for protection from the criminals that burglarized her home for attempted murder! This woman was correct. She DID need protection from criminals. She just didn’t know which criminals she needed protection from: common street thugs with a badge! Stuff like this happens all the time in Atlanta, Georgia, and the civil rights movement rarely gets involved (although they were forced into action by public outrage over the death of the 90 year old woman in her own home). Why? Because even though the victims of this carnage are almost always poor and black, the people who run the police department in Fulton, DeKalb, and Clayton Counties are black, Democrat, and members of these same civil rights organizations.

But make no mistake, Christians, this is not a race issue. (It is a class issue, however, because the Bible speaks of how often the poor are abused and exploited without redress, and that is a reason why the nations of this world will be judged according to their works.) This is all about STATE POWER. Never forget that it was THE STATE that sent your savior Jesus Christ to the cross. It was THE STATE that killed the prophets. So why do so many Christians put their trust in and refuse to question and challenge that same system of corrupt state power, ESPECIALLY WHEN A PERSON WHO REPRESENTS THEIR OWN POLITICAL PARTY OR IDEOLOGY PREFERENCE IS IN POWER?

I will give you the answer: the reason why is that you need the power and love of Jesus Christ in your lives! Though you may call yourself a Christian, you are living proof that everyone who calls himself a Christian is not Christ’s sheep. If you were Christ’s sheep, you would have the Spirit of Truth in you. You would have mercy and compassion on the poor, and you would love your neighbor. You would not follow after ideologies, which are really nothing but PAGAN DEVIL’S DOCTRINES, that encourage you to to hate and mock the poor, and claim that they deserve their plight. You would not look at instances of abuses of state power and say “Well, it is a tragedy, but it has to be done in order to have law and order” AND YET GET OUTRAGED WHEN IT HAPPENS TO A MEMBER OF YOUR SOCIOECONOMIC DEMOGRAPHIC GROUP! That is right, you folks were so angry over what happened in that Duke lacrosse scandal that for awhile there I thought that there was going to be rioting in the country clubs and gated communities! But when it comes to the issue of how the state treats members of the underclass in this very same fashion on a regular basis, these same people say things like “Well, maybe he didn’t commit THAT CRIME, but he committed another one or would have at some point down the line. That person was arrested, tried, and convicted by a jury of his peers … we have to have confidence in the system, it is not perfect but it is the best that there is in the world.” It is the best system in the world because it benefits YOU, upper class CHRISTIAN! If you were a true Christian, you would be outraged at how the law enforcement system abuses the poor WHILE NOT EVEN KEEPING THEM SAFE FROM CRIME! So all of you upper class comfortable so – called Christians that have sat back in the safety of your own gated suburban communities and either supported or were silent while the state mistreats the poor while watching your Fox News channel celebrate the decadent amoral greed represented by its owner, the world’s biggest pornographer Rupert Murdoch … as you sit back and listen to Rush Limbaugh, Neal Boortz, and other right wing radio hosts that mock and denigrate and harden your hearts to the poor, I have to ask you this: what are you going to do when judgment day comes? It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of an angry God, and right now God is angry at your lack of compassion for the poor! So repent of your sins, your abominations, your idolatries, and your multitude of evil. Because if you don’t, UPPERCLASS SINNER, what are you going to do when judgment day falls upon you? And as for you Rudy Giuliani fans, Amadou Diallo and Patrick Dorismond will judge you members of this wicked generation! Diallo, Dorismond, and all of the babies that received the very late term abortions that Rudy Giuliani supports! Follow The Three Step Salvation Plan today!

Study: Mentally Ill People Make Better Soldiers

Posted by Job on September 3, 2007

See link from the worst newspaper in the country: ajc.com/search/content/metro/stories/2007/09/03/recruitbox_0903.html Of course, the angle here is that if you are building a fascist state that needs a large underclass whose members will pretty much have to join the military in order to have any chance at bettering themselves … well let us just say that America has been doing an excellent job of doing so, especially since we ended the draft. This finding: “Army recruits who were emotionally neglected as children and who had lived stress-filled lives were more likely to complete basic training” tells it all. Break up families with socially liberal attitudes and policies promoted not only through the government but also the educational system and news and entertainment media, where every anti – family abomination is normalized and glamorized while people who actually try to live a lifestyle that is conducive to producing healthy happy Christian children with clean minds are mocked (they are now even calling attempts to prevent your children from having premarital sex while living under your roof “child abuse” and what have you). And destabilize the economy with terrible fiscal policies, a failing education system, free trade agreements with third world countries, fighting nonsense wars (which also destabilizes families … I suppose you haven’t heard about how shipping the husband or wife off to Iraq for years at a time leads to divorces and such … Star Jones’ claim to fame was prosecuting this woman who left her husband for another man while he was off fighting the first Iraq War and having him killed for the insurance money when he returned), and allowing illegal (and legal) immigrants to flood our job market claiming that it is either work that Americans won’t do or are not trained to do (see the failing education system).

Of course, economic insecurity destabilizes also families … financial pressures are the leading cause of divorce. This is most true of the underclass, the same members of which oft joins the military because the factories have moved to third world countries, illegal immigrants are getting all of the construction/agriculture/light manufacturing/service jobs, and the money that they could use to train people to do high tech work is being spent on recruiting and sponsoring people on high tech visas. See how this goes in a circle? Almost makes you wonder if they designed this system on purpose. Destroy the middle class and people are going to be forced to join the army no matter what the military policy is. Oh yes, and opposition to capricious wars will always be blunted because the pro – war people will have the “it is an all – volunteer army … why are we even talking about casualties to begin with … didn’t these people KNOW that there was a possibility that they would have to fight a war when they joined?” The neo – cons just LOVE plying that line.

So, no wonder Colonel Richard Gonzalez, the person who did this study to begin with is now being attacked and discredited by the government for exposing how this same government has worked to create the very conditions that makes up our underclass (and therefore faceless and nameless) fighting force. After all, exploiting the poor is what evil people are all about, and you know people like this are not truly Christian, because the Bible speaks more against mistreating the poor than it does against sexual sin. See another article from the worst newspaper in the country: ajc.com/search/content/metro/stories/2007/09/02/recruitstudy_0903.html .

So the next time you see all of these flag – waving neo – conservative Christians talking about how much they “support the troops”, this is another thing that should make you stop and think once or thrice about their sincerity. Then again, if these Christians are sitting around watching Fox News all day instead of reading their Bibles (see Why Fox News Is Bad For Christianity), maybe they are just deceived and in need of our prayers so that their eyes may be opened.

Did God Tell George Bush To Invade Iraq?

Posted by Job on July 23, 2007

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/19/AR2007071901957.html?hpid=opinionsbox1 reminds me of http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/13/AR2005101301688.html. This is one of the SHOCKINGLY FEW mainstream media stories about this, though I would hazard a guess that pretty much everyone has heard about it. Now the fact that no real sport has been made of this in the media shows which side the media is on. Were they to deal with it in any serious way, it would provoke a real theological debate, and that would have forced the leaders of the religious right to take a stand on whether Bush ever received a direct revelation from God on Iraq or any other issue. The result of such a debate would have been the obvious: there is NO WAY that Bush EVER received such a revelation from God (more on that later). But by placing it out there in a manner where everyone would find out about it but so serious examination of it would take place serves the purpose of the anti – Christ media: to make Bible – believing Christians look like fools, fascists, or some combination thereof. And it has worked, see this link: Because Of George Bush, The World Regards Christianity As Evil!

And this better than anything else exposes the utter corruption of the Christian leaders in America, especially those on the religious right. If they were on the Lord’s side, out of a desire not so much to defend the reputation of the church on earth but THE NAME OF OUR GOD IN HEAVEN, they should have openly challenged Bush on this blasphemy. But since no righteous man or woman of God performed the role of a prophet, it shows the apostasy of our churches just as does this article: Do You Go To Church? If So, Why?! (Pay special attention to the fact that only 3% of Christians truly care whether their kids go to heaven or hell according to this survey as compared to 39% wanting their kids to get into a good college.) What demonstrates the apostasy even more so is that the MEMBERS of their churches did not DEMAND that their pastors oppose Bush’s speaking against our Lord.

How can I be so sure that God did not tell Bush to invade Iraq and Afghanistan? It is a simple Bible test, really. (Test Your Bible Knowledge With The Prophecy Quiz! and
The Requirements For The Office Of A Prophet are the types of things that would point you in the right direction.) Some simple ones: prophecy only goes to Israelites (meaning people that are saved). Bush = member of Skulls and Crossbones, pro – abortion and pro – homosexual: see Why Christians Should Not Support George W. Bush, and believes that Muslims worship the same God as Christians do (which is, er, quite a surprise to the Muslims). Add to that Why President George W. Bush Honestly is Not a Christian and it is pretty clear. Incidentally, none of the things in any of those links are secret. They were known to our clergy before he was elected to office, and by the time this “revelation” allegedly came to him, it was obvious that he had not changed! So strike one.

Strike two: things of this nature are only true if established in the mouth of two or more witnesses. Well, was there any evidence of any other Christian hearing a word from the Lord that we should strike Iraq and Afghanistan? If there were, I didn’t hear of it!

And strike three: all revelation must be consistent with prior revelation. For Christians, our completed, inspired, inerrant, literally true, and final authority in all matters – including revelation – is the Bible. It is what by which we can try all spirits by the Holy Spirit, and call anything and everything that does not measure up to be accursed. Now I am not one of those who believes that the Righteous One who shall one day return to make war and overcome the armies of Gog and Magog and those who follow Him are called to be pacifists: see CHRISTIANS ARE NOT TO BE PACIFISTS!!! please. But just show me one place in the Bible where God told Christians to start wars of aggression against a nation that did not attack us and was not imminently planning on attacking us (and had no real capability of executing any plan that they did have) but JUST HAPPENED to be MIGHTY CONVENIENT to various domestic and international economic and political aims of his. (Puppet regime? Check. Oil companies? Check. Halliburton? Check. Defense contractors? Check. Re – election? Check. Increased Christian persecution in Iraq and across the Middle East? Check. (And check here too.) Increasing the amount of carnage, disorder, racial and religious tension, fear, and economic/political instability in the world, which in turn makes us more likely to submit to international leadership for “solutions”? Check. Giving illegal immigrants an easy path to citizenship by allowing them to fill Army quotas? Check. Increasing our national debt to China and similar? Check. Sending so many of our best and brightest workers overseas through the “backdoor draft” so we can claim a “labor shortage” that we need to replace with immigrant workers? Check. And boy, those National Guardsmen and equipment sure would have come in handy after Hurricane Katrina, and to fight all of these wildfires, but oh well … check.) I have not seen it in the Bible. Nor have I seen anything in the Bible where Christians have this manifest destiny to go about imposing Christianity, “democracy”, or anything else on a sovereign nation. Have you?

Did God command His people to fight wars in the Bible? Sure. In the OLD TESTAMENT to ISRAEL. But that was in the interests of creating a nation out of Abraham – and defending said nation – that God would use to bring Jesus Christ into the world. After that was done, there was no need to go about putting men, women, and children to death with the sword (or with carpet – bombing campaigns). Of course, a nation has a right to defend itself, and the case can be made that we have an obligation to rise up and stop grotesque human rights abuses (although our next detachment of troops to Sudan to stop the genocide against Christians there will be the first). But it is safe to say that the large scale (or small scale) slaughter of innocents so that occult groups like the Skulls and Bones can exert its political and corporate dominance over the globe is fundamentally incompatible with Biblical revelation, correct?

Now say George Bush had sold all that he had and given it to the poor as Jesus Christ told the wealthy young ruler. Or had he used these “Radio Free Wherever” government radio propaganda broadcasts to pump Christian evangelistic messages across the globe fulfill the Christian mandate to take the gospel to every nation. Or had he proposed a massive wealth transfer program to the poor, or to imposed strict environmental regulations on big business based on Bible verses and doctrines. Now I would not necessarily advocate Bush going and doing those things because they may be taking Bible doctrines out of their appropriate contexts. But in those instances had Bush said that God told him to do these things, we would at least have to consider the POSSIBILITY that God MAY have told him to do so because the claimed revelation would have at least some scriptural basis. But a revelation that IS OBVIOUSLY COMPLETELY OPPOSITE TO EVERYTHING THAT THE BIBLE SAYS AND STANDS FOR? That should have made at least SOME CHRISTIANS suspicious.

Well, either we Christians bought into the obvious lie, or we knew it was a lie and failed to speak up and demand that others do the same. Which is it? Either way, it is enough to make you wonder if God is going to hold us to account for our silence on Judgment Day, right alongside those who support or refuse to appose abortion. If you do not feel that such is the case, or if you disagree with anything else that I have proposed, now is the time to make your dissent known and tell me where I am wrong!

The Vaticanized Supreme Court Removes More Individual Rights Lowers Wall Of Separation Between Church And State

Posted by Job on June 26, 2007

I have no idea why God – hating liberals (which of course does not refer to all liberals just as there are PLENTY of God – hating conservatives, especially among the religious right) care so much about protecting the wall of separation between church and state, because in any nation where the church and state mix, true spiritual religion dies. So why not lose a battle to win a war, by allowing the wall between church and state to be removed now so that religion will die out in America 50 or 100 years from now? It is, after all, about the future isn’t it? About our children and grandchildren? That is what they say about every other issues: global warming and environmentalism, tax and spending policies, and social programs … how we should make big sacrifices today in order to make a better world for future generations tomorrow. Perhaps this is a classic case study in hypocrisy: it is easy for them to call for sacrifice when someone else has to make it. No different from the pro – war conservatives who do so from the safety of their own climate – controlled TV rooms with their sons and daughters sitting right next to them. Or maybe their opposition is part of a scam to distract the masses? Ah, no matter.

Free speech: the Supreme Court’s first attack on free speech came in a cross – burning case. Of course, since THE RACE ISSUE was being exploited, no one cared that the Supreme Court struck down a form of religious and political protest and dissent. And how, er, cute it was to have Opus Dei Clarence Thomas be the media star on that issue. Look, am I the only one who thinks it SO STRANGE that a fellow who is A) divorced, B) was so into hard core pornography movies that he talked about them constantly at work, and C) tried desperately to coerce Anita Hill to commit fornication with him, and did so in the most vulgar demeaning disrespectful way possible became the darling of the religious right? Of course I am not! Well, now that Thomas, Kennedy, and Scalia have Alito and Roberts, their assault on free speech continues. Against the backdrop of all the Bush/GOP appointee court decisions in favor of the Patriot Act and against whomever the state might decide to brand a terrorist or enemy combatant (including Chief Justice Roberts’ own decisions), the Supreme Court ruled to restrict free speech in the “Bong Hits For Jesus” case. Blasphemy? Of course. But the essence of a free society is freedom to choose Jesus Christ. In a free society, some will choose Jesus Christ. In a closed society, virtually no one will. And in a closed society that pretends to be Christian, even fewer will choose Jesus Christ than will do so in a Marxist, Hindu, or Muslim state. Get the picture? And in ruling against the right of this student to blaspheme, the Supreme Court broke new ground by for the first time making illegal on the federal level speech that constitutes absolutely no threat of violence, subversion, or disorder. Please recall: the STATED reason why speech was restricted in the KKK case was because burning a cross on someone’s yard implies the threat or possibility of violence. Now while it is illegal to “yell ‘fire’ in a crowded theatre”, there has to be an ACTUAL IMMINENT THREAT OF PHYSICAL DANGER. Since it is no longer the 1880s with pater – rollers, night riders, and KKKers doing their evil deeds, no one can honestly claim that anymore. So, the Supreme Court had to use HISTORICAL REFERENCES OF VIOLENCE ASSOCIATED WITH CROSS BURNING IN TIMES PAST to place the act in CONTEXT, and, you know, CONSIDER THE EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL ANGUISH OF THE VICTIM. You know, hate crimes stuff. And precisely what keeps homosexuals, abortion clinic providers, Muslims, Jews, and basically anyone else using the same excuse (the Holocaust, the Crusades, things like that) from banning a NON – BURNING CROSS? OR ANYTHING ELSE AT ANY TIME? Nothing really. So, that decision opened the door for this: making it ILLEGAL for a kid to display a sign that has absolutely no potential whatsoever to directly or indirectly contribute to the threat of violence or subversion, either imminently or afar off. And you know what was worse? IT WAS POLITICAL SPEECH! Now the media is not doing a good job of letting you know this, but the kid was advocating marijuana legalization. And by including Jesus Christ, insinuating (wrongly of course) that Jesus Christ would have supported becoming strung out on poison that will kill your brain cells and sterilize you also makes it RELIGIOUS SPEECH! In this case, the Supreme Court openly defied the Second Amendment, restricting the political and religious speech of a private citizen.

And on the very same day that they restricted political and religious speech of private citizens, THEY EXPANDED IT FOR CORPORATIONS BY STRIKING DOWN McCAIN – FEINGOLD! Now, I am no fan of McCain – Feingold. I am certain that things such as this will be used to ban Bible – based religious speech from politics first and then from society in general (pharisee pseudo – religious legalistic “values” speech will still be allowed, and probably will be required by the state church). But what this decision does is allow the Pat Robertsons, Jay Sekulows, the Sun Myung Moons, the Tim LaHayes and Paul Crouches, the Rupert Murdoch talking heads on Fox News, and other figures of the “Christian” right to continue to flood the airwaves with their perversion of Christianity, making people think that free market capitalism (and wars fought and property seized in defense of it; which by the way was another ABSOLUTELY GREAT court decision) was given to us by God in the Bible. The prosperity doctrine for fascists, right?

And what would it be without yet another decision tearing down the wall between church and state? The Supreme Court has now ruled that people cannot even sue to stop a chief executive from giving churches taxpayer money! It makes me think that the Council On Foreign Relations/Skulls and Bones types who really run this country are going to nominate Clinton/Obama on one ticket just so Thompson/Romney can beat them on the other. Result? Gigantic amounts of state money will flow to the church, first to Rome and then to the Pat Robertson “Protestant” types. And you know what the rationale will be? Why? The church will have to step up and make sure that these 12 million illegal immigrants that are now able to “come out of the shadows”! They will need schools, English lessons, vocational training, health care, housing, etc! And OF COURSE the CHURCH will be better able to provide the services that PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE need in order to become U.S. citizens, right? The oldest government trick in the book: create a problem so that you can expand government to solve it. And the best part is that by insulating the chief executive from the legal AND political process, there will be NO RECOURSE! He will be able to hand out BILLIONS OF DOLLARS in “discretionary spending.” And this is how Republicans and Democrats double – team you, Christians. A Democrat gets in office, and he ratchets up the “discretionary spending” (to Planned Parenthood, Human Rights Campaign, you know the deal). Republicans complain, but don’t do anything about it but use your anger over the deal to distract you from reading your Bible, and get you so worked up over it that you give yourself over to fear and to hating your neighbor. Then the Republicans get into office, and not only do they A) continue funding Planned Parenthood and the Human Rights Campaign but B) they pick right up where the unconstitutional “discretionary” spending of the Democrats left off by doing more of it of their own to “religious groups!” It is the perfect scam!

As more and more churches get tax money, the more corrupt they will get, and the less willing to stand up to and criticize the government they will be. Which, of course, will make it much easier for the government to attack free speech and religion. Just as has happened in Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, and other places where it is a hate crime to call homosexuality a sin; just like in Germany where
Germany Jails Lutheran Pastor Johannes Lerle For Anti – Abortion Sermon! I say that in 50 years all religious speech in America will be banned except the speech that the government will want you to say. And since the government will be training our pastors (they pretty much are already thanks to federal grants and loans and the accreditation system without which virtually no seminary or Bible college can survive … Christian colleges that refuse to hire homosexuals may have to close in California because they will be ineligible to participate in the state college grant program thanks to a bill that was signed by the REPUBLICAN Arnold Schwarzenneggar, the very same one who likes to drop in and talk to Paul Crouch on TBN from time to time), that will be pretty easy! But before you let the religious right scare you about your inability to call homosexuality and abortion sin, let me remind you: it isn’t about that. Islam, Hinduism, and Mormonism declare homosexuality and abortion sin. No, I am talking about the state making it ILLEGAL to preach that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Is God, who died from our sins, was raised from the dead, and will one day return for the church. You want to say that He was born of a virgin? Fine. Muslims and Mormons say the same. You want to say that He rose from the dead? Mormons say the same. You want to say that He taught great values? Virtually everyone this side of Richard Dawkins believes that. You want to call Him a great prophet who did many mighty wonderful works? A great many Jews who are discouraged from even speaking His Name will concede such (see link). The the state church that is soon to come, you will be able to call Jesus Christ anything and everything you want … as long as you do not call Him Lord. And the religious right that is deceiving so many Christians is leading the way, and so are most of these megachurches, most of these corrupt TV preachers with their false doctrines, most of these corrupt Christian TV networks who do not have a doctrinal, theological, or even ethical litmus test to determine who they grant airtime to, etc. So, now you know. The question is: what are YOU going to do about it?

Stalin and Hitler: Both Statists (Lessons from the Holocaust)

Posted by Job on June 13, 2007

While not technically from a Christian perspective, I will use this link, because it supports the position of Heal The Land that the state is an enemy of God (along with false religion). After all, who was it that crucified Jesus Christ? Now you must consider the fact that the reason why certain “Christians” later blamed all Jews (rather than a collaboration between the state and a corrupt religious system based on works, rituals, and rules standing in the base of a true spiritual relationship with God) is because, well, these “Christians” would have been blaming themselves. In many of these nations, there was no separation between church and state, so you had all of these “state churches.” Of course, “state churches” tend to institute religion by ritual and oppose true worship of God, exhibited by this notion that all you have to do in order to go to heaven is A) perform some baptism ritual (and even that was “sprinkling in the name of Jesus only” instead of full immersion in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit), even to infants and B) paying your taxes – excuse me, tithes. So, realize how the “state church” system (which included the Mormonesque pagan religion of the Romans that worshipped Caesar and others as gods) that killed Jesus Christ so easily turned into a “state church” system in Europe that persecuted Jews for centuries and morphed into STATISM, meaning fascism and communism, that killed at least 6 million Jews in the Holocaust and millions more elsewhere. So please read Stalin and Hitler: Both Statists (Lessons from the Holocaust), and if you have not accepted a true relationship of Jesus Christ, please read and follow The Three Step Salvation Plan.

One Thing That The Hollywood Liberals Are Right About: Fascism

Posted by Job on March 4, 2007

Not long ago – less than a couple of years ago in fact – when I was living my prior existence as a far right wing ultraconservative hyperpartisan Republican, one of the things that so irritated me about the left – liberal types in Hollywood, academia, media, etc. was their attempts to – in my opinion – plunge the nation into fearmongering over fascism. This coincided with the election of George W. Bush, of course, and everything that Bush and his supporters purported to stand for – from capitalism to entitlement cuts to deregulation to (of course) Christianity – represented some pillar of the fascist regime that Bush and company were going to bring in. It was trotted out in virtually every oped column, scholarly paper, talk show, political speech, etc. and got so pervasive that even kids’ cartoons began to indulge in “fascism” fearmongering. Of course, what the left was doing was trying to recreate the same type of “McCarthyism” and “red scare” anticommunist environment that they believe that the right cooked up to wrest power from the Roosevelt – Truman – Kennedy Democrats. The left to this day feels that communism was never a threat – and indeed had a great many positive points – and that the right knew it, and pretended otherwise to A) scare and divide the electorate in order to steal political power that rightfully belonged to the left that the right would have never gained by legitimate means and B) to “discredit” and prevent the universal adoption of “communism’s good parts.” So, they felt it very appropriate to do the same regarding “the Christian right” that Bush supposedly represents (but as I conjecture REALLY does not), especially since unlike the peace – loving harmless communists, the Christian right IS a threat! So I regret to admit that my zeal to defend right wing GOP conservative causes and candidates at the time caused me to hatefully resent their “fascism bashing”, all of their bleating and scaremongering about “coming fascism”, etc. and ultimately became, well, SOFT ON FASCISM!

Now that I have abandoned GOP religious right politics and my eyes have cleared as a result, I must admit something: the liberals were right! After a fashion only and not in the way that they believe, of course, but they were right: fascism is coming. Whose fascism? Why the beast’s (or the anti – Christ’s!) of course! Again, turn your Bible to the book of Revelation and read its description of the reign of the beast and the false prophet, and remember that this evil person’s reign was mentioned in the book of Daniel as well. Allow your analytical mind to show you how the picture of how the prophetic apocalyptic language description of the reign of the beast on earth given in Daniel and Revelation would be implemented in practical terms in the real world, and you would quickly come to the realization that the beast’s regime IS INDEED FASCISTIC. It will be A) extremely imperialistic, B) built on authoritarian control enforced by brutal violence and the threat and fear of such violence, C) the beast will have not only total military and political control but ECONOMIC control as well (i.e. you will not be able to buy or sell without “the mark”) and D) the unifying force will be A STATE RELIGION (the false prophet will cause everyone to worship the beast and the image of the beast).

This is even better: study Nazi Germany! No, not the version given in Hollywood movies and the leftist “history books” that teach you that Hitler and his regime were just “religious right” types who hated Jews, homosexuals, immigrants, minorities, and (of course) communists. (And do not buy the “Hitler was a liberal” right wing revisionism that I myself used to peddle either; the truth is both the left and the right, both Republicans and Democrats, hold views that were espoused by Hitler. As a matter of fact, these “Left Behind” folks like Tim LaHaye who portray the anti – Christ as some liberal UN or EU type because the UN and the EU are their opponents in worldly politics is doing a great disservice … in fact it furthers the anti – Christ agenda. Do these people honestly think that if you are a right – wing conservative Republican you will be less likely to follow the anti – Christ and more likely to be taken in the rapture? Well, let me just say that Satan is more than pleased with that type of worldly self – righteousness where people believe that they are justified by their views, culture, and lifestyle rather than by grace and faith. Believe me, the right wingers will be eating out of the beast’s hand – and taking his mark on their own hand or forehead – just as will be the left wingers, Marxists, libertarians, anarchists, etc.) Just as the destruction of the first temple by Nebuchadnezzar was a foreshadowing of the destruction of the second temple and the end of the Jewish Age in 70 AD, and the desecration of the second temple by Antiochus Epiphanes in 168 BC was a foreshadowing of the desecration of the third temple that the beast will do (and as stated earlier, some Jews have begun speaking of restarting the animal sacrifices that the beast will halt), I am convinced that Nazi Germany was a foreshadowing of the reign of the beast.

And yes, Nazi Germany did have a STRONG RELIGIOUS ELEMENT. This fact is currently obscured by the dishonest political debates of the day, with the left calling Hitler a Christian, hoping to thereby discredit Bible – believing Christians and drive them from politics and the public square. Rather than fighting their lies by standing for the truth, the “religious right” responds in kind, after a wordly manner, by claiming that because Hitler supported abortion, evolution, social programs, gun control, government ownership/control of private property and enterprise, wage and price controls, and unions that he and Democrats – especially the Clintons! – are one and the same. Instead, we have to talk about WHAT HITLER REALLY DID WITH RELIGION IN HIS EMPIRE: a very strong element of the Nazi regime was HITLER CREATING A PERVERTED FORM OF CHRISTIANITY THAT REPLACED THE WORSHIP OF GOD WITH THE WORSHIP OF THE STATE AND OF “THE HUMAN IDEAL OR THE SUPERIOR/PERFECT HUMAN” AND HAVING GERMANY ADOPT IT AS ITS STATE RELIGION! (Now even though this weblog does not shy away with the many problems regarding Roman Catholicism and Orthodox Christian Church, we are not among those who call the Catholic Church “the beast”, especially since the ones most famous for going around proclaiming that are the very same Seventh Day Adventists who claim that Jesus Christ and the archangel Michael are one and the same because they have to defend Ellen White’s “special revelations”, although it is curious to note that Catholic dogma itself) teaches that the beast will be an invalidly elected pope.) And part of parcel of Hitler doing so was conducting a reign of terror against the legitimate churches of the time – and rumor has it that there were not that many, and such was part of the problem that facilitated Hitler’s rise, and by the way such is the same climate today! – by having pastors who opposed Hitler’s idolatry imprisoned or murdered, their congregants terrorized, and churches burned. One fascinating – and terrifying – part of Hitler’s program was compelling churches to replace images of Yeshua HaMashiach and the saints with those of “gods” from Nordic mythology (and other things that represented Hitler’s notion of idealized humanity) and HAVING PATRIOTIC SONGS SUNG IN CHURCH in place of hymns honoring God. Again, I should point out that the state of Christianity in Germany at the time was in such a state of disrepair with a great many people practicing religion through traditions, rituals, and doctrines rather than actually attempting to honor or know God that (save the few instances where resistance was attempted) the changes went virtually unnoticed; people could not tell that the icons that they were praying to had been changed from Christ, “Virgin” Mary, the angels, and the saints to Thor, Odin, and whoever, and did not mind much the hymnal and liturgical changes. Yet, the spiritual consequences of this behavior plunged the whole nation into a state of darkness that made all of the Nazi crimes, including the Holocaust, happen.

Again, lots of professed Protestant Christians have tried to use Hitler’s crimes to indict Roman Catholicism, but in doing so they conveniently forget that the largest percentage of German Christians were actually LUTHERAN; that indeed Lutheranism and not Catholicism was the prior state or “official” (meaning tax – supported) form of Christianity. This is fitting, because Martin Luther himself was German, and the REFORMATION BEGAN IN GERMANY! So, instead of pointing the finger at one group of Christians that abandons the Bible and blaming the coming fascism of the beast and false prophet on THEM, instead what needs to be done is to hold up a MIRROR, and thereby examine our own beliefs and lifestyles that fail to conform to the teachings and example of Christ. How many churches have become social clubs, welfare centers, and political action committees? How many churches have abandoned the gospel of grace and mercy and redemption for legalism and works; the “holiness or hell” nonsense that was originated by the anti – Trinitarian Pentecostals but is now popular throughout Christendom because it encourages people to put their trust in works and outward signs rather than in faith (“whew, I spoke in tongues last night, so that means that I am really saved!”). What about the social gospel, the empowerment gospel, liberation theology, the prosperity gospel, and all of these other doctrines that teach men to seek and store up their treasure on earth rather than in Heaven? And what about this “purpose driven your best life now seeker power of positive thinking megachurch” religion that is nothing more than a New Age self – help motivational speaking movement with Christian windowdressing? (These folks are actually inviting the leading “self – help gurus” to come participate in their conferences and address their congregations.) What about the “many paths to heaven” universalism that has gripped most of our mainline denominations (and that speaks nothing of the ones who have up and decided that the Bible is just a bunch of stories and metaphors). And what about all of these “prosperity Word of Faith” people with their special revelations, claiming that Jesus Christ was made perfect when He received the Holy Spirit, or that He was born again in hell AFTER He died on the cross (if so, how did He resist Satan’s temptation during His fast? with the power of His own sinful flesh? And if His flesh was sinful BEFORE He went to the cross, what did His death on the cross accomplish that the death of Barabbas would not have? And since He was born not of Adam but of God, then does not that make God the original sinner who Himself is evil and depraved and needs a Saviour? See how this stuff negates the Bible?) So, you can just imagine how a charismatic (after the original sense, not the Christian, Holy Spirit sense) leader could get all of these church folk to worship HIM in place of God. How? Because they aren’t worshipping God NOW, that’s how. And as for all of the other religions: well they aren’t worshipping God either, remember? Either you worship God through Yeshua HaMashiach exclusively or you worship Satan every way else. There is no middle ground!

The Bible says: “where there are two or three gathered together in My Name there am I also in the midst of them.” Well, the converse of this statement is: “whenever a group of people get together around a common purpose whose goal is anything else BUT worshipping God only, then Satan just walks right in and takes over.” That was the lesson of the tower of Babel, that was the lesson in Nazi Germany, and that is what will come to fruition once again during the reign of the beast and the false prophet. The only question in my mind that remains: which side are you on? Let me give you a hint: if you are unsure, then you are on Satan’s side! I urgently entreat you to get on the right side: the winning team, which is God’s, right now! And if you already are on the right side, to start respresenting God in every facet of your life.  technorati tag:
