Why Does The Media Focus Only On Harold Camping?

Posted by Job on May 26, 2011

Yes, Harold Camping has been exposed as a false prophet, deceiving many as concerning the timing of the second coming of Jesus Christ. Again. Yes, his deception has caused lots of problems and unnecessary harm, especially for his followers. Again. The question is this: what is the big deal? Why has Camping been the subject of such media attention for months when there are so many pressing stories to cover i.e. wars, famines, diseases, natural disasters, economic failures, political intrigues etc. on a global scale? Clearly the media has an agenda, but what is it?

First off, for the sake of sound doctrine, let it be known that the return of Jesus Christ will not occur until A) the gospel has been taken to all nations and B) a great apostasy, a great falling away from the true faith, occurs. As the great commission is a primary duty of the church, it logical to conclude that the falling away will occur shortly after the great commission is fulfilled, or when the great commission’s fulfillment and with it the time of the Gentiles draws to a close. Anyone who extricates themselves from rapture watching and religious right (or religious left) politics long enough to pay attention to the global missions movements knows that barring a fantastic miracle we are at least 100 years from fulfilling the great commission (the 10/40 window alone is an amazing challenge) and – despite the claims of Camping otherwise – far from there being a great falling away, there are more Christians – or definitely appreciable numbers of Christians in more places – today than at any time in history. So, if we can learn anything from this Camping episode, it is that we should heed the words given by angels and recorded by the physician Luke at the direction of God the Holy Spirit “why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” That was an exhortation to cease waiting for eternity and to get on with the business of living for eternity by loving Jesus Christ and walking in His ways.

With that out of the way, let it further be said that the error of Camping does not undermine the authority of the Bible, Jesus Christ or His church but rather confirms it. How? Because the Bible repeatedly warns against false teachers, including those who would lead people into error concerning His second coming. Jesus Christ said that “false prophets shall deceive many” in Matthew 24:5, and that many will be offended by the true faith in Matthew 24:10. Such false teachings were present even while the New Testament was being written, as the apostle Peter referenced them in 2 Peter 3:4, the apostle John did the same in 1 John 2:18, and the apostle Paul did the same in 2 Thessalonians 2.  Further, Jesus Christ predicted such specifically in Matthew 24:4-5! The New Testament makes it clear that we identify false teachers when they teach things that are in contradiction to the Bible. This truth is what drove William Tyndale to martyrdom, when he stated “I defy the Pope and all his laws. If God spare my life ere many years, I will cause the boy that drives the plow to know more of the scriptures than you!” in response to being told that common people didn’t need to be knowledgeable concerning the Bible’s contents, because it was better to obey the pope than the Bible anyway. So, in rejecting Jesus Christ when He stated that none knows the timing of His return save God the Father (Matthew 24:36), and in rejecting Jesus Christ when He stated that the great commission will be fulfilled before He returns (Matthew 24:14) and in rejecting the Holy Spirit’s inspiration of Paul concerning the falling away first in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, this Camping teaches against things concerning God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, and by his doing so and attracting so many followers he verifies the pages of the New Testament when it said that such a thing would happen. So, Camping did not harm the authenticity or integrity of the Bible by being wrong, but rather verified the Bible’s truth! Instead, Camping’s being RIGHT would have been an occasion to challenge the veracity of the Bible, for were Jesus Christ to return before we reach the many tribes in the 10/40 window or while there are tens of millions of believers risking persecution to worship in Africa and Asia, what would be said of those Bible texts?

So, make no mistake, there is nothing special about Camping. Was not just over ten years ago when there were tons of false prophets claiming based on Bible codes and numerology that Jesus Christ was going to return in 2000? (Never mind that the Bible doesn’t follow our modern calendars, and that Bede almost certainly incorrectly calculated the date of the birth of Jesus Christ that we use for “B.C.” and “A.D.” anyway). Or about 25 years ago Jesus Christ was going to return because it was 40 years after of the establishment of the modern state of Israel? (Never mind that Jesus Christ spoke “this generation” to the Jews of His own time concerning the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D., and if the Bible actually does speak of the restoration of the political nation of Israel, it does not link this event to any timetable concerning Christ’s return.) So why all the fuss and the furor? It has to serve some sort of media agenda.

Consider this: how come when the subject in view is Usama bin Laden or some other Muslim terrorist, the media is quick to say “he isn’t a real Muslim” or “he doesn’t represent mainstream Islam that is practiced by hundreds of millions of peaceful followers”, but the media is quick to depict Camping as being in or near the mainstream of evangelical and fundamental Christians? In truth, as Camping rejects the Holy Trinity, he shouldn’t be classified as Christian at all. Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Muslims and Jews all reject the Holy Trinity, a core foundational doctrine of Christianity that sets it apart from other religions that are either polytheistic or present a false teaching on God’s Unity. But while the media does its best to present Islam and increasingly Mormonism as moderate and mainstream, it uses Camping to create a wild eyed, dangerous fanatical face for Bible-believing Christianity.

Another thing: it isn’t as if Camping is the only false prophet or source of wrong information. Far from it. It is just that when so many others get things wrong and are exposed for their false, anti-Biblical thinking, nothing is ever said about it. Instead, the media, the academy, the elites simply move on. (Or they carry on as if the error was never made.) Consider liberal Christianity, such as the critical “scholars.” Barely a year goes by when an archaeological find of a Biblical site or a scientific breakthrough that confirms Biblical truth or discovery of early manuscripts verifying the existence of historical persons, places and the integrity of Biblical texts that the critical scholars challenged, yet the critical scholars are still accepted as scholars, and their methods – which would never be used in any other field because of their ascientific nature – accepted as reliable.

But that is just the Bible, right? Wrong. Take psychology. The theories of giants in that field like Sigmund Freud and Alfred Kinsey have long been discredited. Yet they are still revered as having made great contributions to science, modern thought and human progress, and furthermore their discredited theories are still being taught as fact in our schools and universities. But psychology, save when it is based on experimentation and observation and does not deal with brain’s biology and chemistry, is a “soft science”, right? Sure, except that the theories in the hard sciences like physics and biology turn up erroneous also. Our schools still teach the long-discredited false leads in evolution theory, i.e. the “evolutionary timeline tree chart” that has long been abandoned as unworkable, and fossils allegedly showing primates evolving into humans that were actually either diseased humans or other animals as fact. You would be surprised to know how many of the things that were taught in science class has been quietly abandoned, how much more needs to be pushed from the classroom, and would be if the media held that community to the same scrutiny that it does evangelical and fundamental Christianity.

But that is just arcane science that has little relevance to our daily lives, so what harm does it do? Fine, except that the realm of false prophets also exists in government and policy. Many fantastic, dire predictions have been made and influenced the direction of governments and leaders to who knows what ends. Example? Global warming. Except that they couldn’t call it “global warming” anymore when many places in the world started experiencing prolonged unseasonably cold weather! So, the cause of the cold weather was attributed to greenhouse gas emissions also and “global warming” became “climate change.” I remember a specific prediction from the global warming prophets that had a lot of people frightened: after Hurricane Katrina and other large, powerful destructive hurricanes in 2005, the global warming community (the “climate change” moniker had not yet been instituted) claimed that the increase in the power and severity of the storms were caused by global warming, and that we could expect worse storms – and more of them – thereafter. They predicted that the hurricane season of 2006 was going to be one of the worst in history! All their models said so! What happened? We haven’t had anything approaching Katrina since.

Another example: peak oil. The experts a few decades back claimed that we had maxed out our oil production, that we had exploited the main reserves, that oil production was heading for an inevitable decline, and that we needed to alter our lifestyles and change our way of life to conserve what oil was left or face a global energy crisis. A few years after those dire predictions, some of the largest oil reserves in history were discovered, as well as technological breakthroughs for accessing oil, and possible new sources of oil, such as from shale and sand. (Do not mistake me for an oil company and fossil fuels advocate, quite the contrary I am fully supportive of alternative energy, and believe that a lot of great technology in that area is not being exploited.) And there was also the “overpopulation crisis.” It was promoted by folks who believed that if the world’s population reached 4 billion, it would become unsustainable, and the result would be mass famines and starvation, diseases, wars and environmental degradation. The only solution was immediate global population control programs! Well, now the world population is 6.75 billion and counting.

There is more. Remember when mad cow disease was going to ravage our food supply? Oprah Winfrey said “I’ll never eat a hamburger again!” (Of course, these folks OPPOSE abstinence from fornication as a defense against sexually transmitted disease as the Bible commands, but constantly promotes abstinence from eating the animals that God gave us dominion over and called lawful to eat.) Remember when bird flu was going to kill thousands, or tens of thousands? What about swine flu? Brought to you by the same false prophets who told you to run out and buy cellophane and masking tape to protect yourself from a nuclear terrorist attack after September 11th.

The prophets told us in the 1980s that AIDS was going to wipe out a significant portion of the U.S. population with little or no regard for lifestyle, and needless to say they were wrong, as AIDS rates only increased among homosexuals, the promiscuous and drug users while declining for everyone else. The lead false prophet was surgeon general C. Everett Koop, who used this false information to promote sex education and condom giveaways in schools starting in 3rd grade. Speaking of sex education, the false prophets told us that it would drastically reduce the venereal disease and teen/out of wedlock pregnancy rates, and it did neither. Instead, both shot through the roof, and further there are now new venereal diseases that even condom manufacturers acknowledge their products are useless against (not that you will ever hear that in any public school sex education program).

But wait, there’s more. The prophets told us that abandoning classical education for new education reforms (often based on Freudian or Marxist theories) would lead to markedly improved results and a transformation of society. They were totally wrong, American academic achievement has fallen off the map, and no one talks about it. The prophets told us that divorce and illegitimacy were GOOD for women, children and even most men, but education, poverty, drug use and incarceration rates say otherwise. The prophets claimed that we could eliminate racism through education. How is that working out? They claimed that we could eliminate poverty through government action, and now not only is poverty still a reality (as Jesus Christ said it would in Mark 14:7, not a favorite text among liberal theologians!) but unprecedented numbers of people in America and worldwide are reliant on government assistance of some kind. The false prophets also claimed that the triumph of Soviet communism was inevitable, and the best course of action was resignation, acceptance and learning from and becoming more like them, only to have the Soviet Union collapse and many remaining Marxist regimes like China and Viet Nam adopt more capitalistic economies. Those who predicted that the war on drugs and the war on terror (especially Afghanistan and Iraq) could be effectively and quickly won? Whatever happened to them?

The sociologists who said that eliminating censorship laws and allowing the free trafficking of pornography would make us more progressive and improve relations between the sexes? They have been nowhere to be found as rapists, child molesters and other sex criminals have proliferated, multiplying like rats. The social theorists who claimed that putting criminals in jail wouldn’t lower crime rates because the root causes were economic? Wrong, and verified when crime rates still remained lower despite two severe recessions and deep cuts in social services. (Well, street crime is lower anyway. White collar crime, the rich in their vain attempt to sate their lust for greed, remains through the roof. But the Bible said that this would happen concerning the wealthy also … see the book of James, which is not a favorite among political conservatives or those who teach the false prosperity gospel.) And another example: remember Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s claim that we had to immediately adopt a stimulus package to keep unemployment from hitting 8%? Unemployment has been at or near 10% for over two years! Anti-Christ? Probably not. False prophet? Definitely.

So, on one hand you have ONE Harold Camping, who again due to his rejection of the Holy Trinity and of many Bible texts (he forbids his followers from fellowshipping in local churches in violation of Hebrews 10:25) should not be considered a Christian is a false prophet. On the other hand, you have MANY worldly prophets who due to their embrace of ungodly, anti-Biblical ideas, doctrines, philosophies and imaginations that exalt themselves against God (2 Corinthians 10:5) that are utterly, totally and completely wrong all the time. Now both groups of false prophets are wrong for the same reason: their rejection of Biblical revelation as true, infallible, inerrant, and the final authority in all matters, and not merely things necessary for salvation. But the media and the elites shine the light on Camping to defame and discredit Christians who actually do adhere to the Bible while doing their best to cover up the fact that they so wrong so often on so many issues to the great harm of so many is appalling. It is hypocrisy at best, and a conspiratorial cover-up at worst. If anything, talking about Camping gives them an excuse to keep from having to address the huge mess that these folks have made of the economies, governments and societies of the world. Further, it allows them to transfer the blame from their failed policies – and the rejection of Jesus Christ and the Bible which reveals Him ideology that motivate them – to Christians, as if Christians are undermining their efforts.

Christians, for instance, are blamed for illegitimacy by opposing sex education. Christians are blamed for AIDS by opposing homosexuality. Christians are blamed for poor educational performance for opposing evolution. Christians are blamed for global warming for opposing climate change legislation. Christians are blamed for the wars and tension in the Middle East for supporting Israel and not a Palestinian state (by the way, I reject Zionism, and “Christian” Zionism is especially repugnant to what the Bible actually says, and John Hagee and not a few other false prophets follow this flawed school of interpretation). Christians are called misogynist for adhering to what the Bible says about the roles concerning men and women in the church, in marriages and homes and in society, and for opposing the murder of abortion. Christians are blamed for “Islamophobia” and “anti-Semitism” and “anti-Mormonism” for refusing to deny that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, and accused of undermining cultures with our missionary work. And the list goes on and on.

And it is only going to increase. As more and more ideas based on a rejection of the Bible and even of general revelation (see Romans 1:18-32) causes still more decline and failure, anger will increase against Christians. As the world continues to reap the fruit of the sin and wickedness that it sows, it will increasingly see Christians as scapegoats. Instead of repenting of their sins and acknowledging those as the true source of the misery and calamity, the blame will be on Christians for failing to get with the program.

This will climax in first sporadic but then general and organized attempts to silence Christians and remove us from their midst, in the hopes of keeping us from hindering their “progress.” This is far-fetched, you say? Not in the least, because it has already happened. An example is not merely the brutal repression and murder of Christians on a massive scale in the Soviet Union, China, Germany, Sudan and other totalitarian (whether Marxist, Muslim or fascist) regimes in the last century, but the experience of the church in the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire’s wealth, power and culture were declining due to the decadence and incompetence of its ruling classes, and from Nero to Decius, they saw Christians as a scapegoat.

The legitimate Christians refused to join in their state religion (an odd mix of paganism and patriotism not dissimilar from what goes on in our country today, including in not a few churches) so the Roman “gods” were angry. The Christians refused to join in their public activities (regrettably this is not a mark of contemporary Christianity!) so they were called “divisive” and were accused of undermining the common culture (in addition to not being patriotic!) that was allegedly needed to have a cohesive, strong empire. And Christians preached and taught against the immorality, wickedness and depravity of the people, the rulers and the times. They preached against the rampant adultery, homosexuality, violence and child molestation. They preached against the wanton excesses of the upper classes (again, not a mark of contemporary evangelical Christianity, unless the upper classes in view are Hollywood, government bureaucrats and other liberal elites). And they preached against paganism, not only by the people but the official state religion (again, the evangelical Christian preacher who even speaks of the freemasonry and occult that was vital to this nation’s founding and has been influential in it ever since is rare).

Then, the persecution began as sporadic and localized, but climaxed in a brutal, sustained attempt to completely rid the Roman Empire of Christianity. And despite the estimated ten million Christians that were killed by the Roman Empire (something that you will never see mentioned in history books or depicted in movies, as they are more wont to depict Christians as murderous crusaders and the like) and the carnage of the past hundred years, that is only a shadow of the real bloodbath to come. You see, unlike Harold Camping, I do not adhere to a rapture belief. Instead, I believe the Bible when it says that when the anti-Christ comes, it will be given to him to make war against the saints, and to overcome them. I believe the Bible when it says that the time of tribulation, of great sorrows, will be of such severity that it will be cut short so that the saints, the elect, will survive it. And I believe that the saints that were mentioned in Revelation and Matthew 24 that will see that horrible time are not Jews, or those converted by Jews during the great tribulation, but Christians.

And that is what it is all about. That is why turning an obscure preacher with questionable doctrine into an international news story lasting several cycles was done. It is why Westboro Baptist Church, a cult that has existed for decades, is only now becoming international news. It is why Terry Jones, an obscure leader of a small congregation, became an international pariah for burning a Koran when not only Muslims but the United States military routinely burns Bibles!

It is why terrorists attacks committed by atheists like Timothy McVeigh and Eric Rudolph are attributed to Christians. It is why violence against abortion clinics and doctors is an issue oft raised against Christians despite the fact that less than 5 such incidents have occurred in over 20 years, and only 1 in the past 10. The Hutaree militia drew headlines and a massive sting operation from the federal government as a Christian terrorism threat to rival that posed by Al Qaeda, and it turned out to be just a bunch of guys spinning yarns over the Internet.  Yet, the Marxist “liberation theology” types, not a few of whom were trained Soviet infiltrators, fanned the flames for any number of bloody murderous third world Marxist coups with their organizing and “preaching”, and the truth about their activities – and the level of support that they received from their ideological and religious fellow travelers in the U.S. – has never been documented by the media, Hollywood or our schools. Neither has the true history of our own “civil rights movement” – how it duped the black church and many well meaning white Americans into supporting Marxist subversive tactics, and how that movement was also organized by and rife with Soviet agents and sympathizers – been told, and nor can you expect them to spill the beans on their own false prophets.

The agitation propaganda against Christians will continue in the future just as it did in the Roman Empire. Christians should be heedful of the times, which means that we must be aware of what is going on, aware of where it is headed, and aware of whose agenda it is serving. That is why Christians should end these “battles” over “being represented in Hollywood” and the “culture wars” and “religious right politics” (and religious left politics) in favor of opening our eyes to the true state of affairs. Instead, we should study our Bibles, study about the early church during its time of persecution before Christianity was co-opted by the Roman Empire so that by learning about the church’s past, we can learn about the future – our future. Of course, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ will win in the end and vindicate and save His church. But make no mistake: just as Jesus Christ suffered Gethsemane and His passion before His resurrection and glorification, the church, being less than its Master Jesus Christ, must also suffer many things. Christians must be prepared so that we might stand during the time to come, and endure to the end. This is a battle that will be won not by guns, money or governments but by faith in the God who is fighting on our side and prevail.

It must be asked: which side are you on? The side of God, or of the wicked? Though Camping was wrong, his error only proved the Bible to be correct. The Bible makes it clear that the wicked perish and that Jesus Christ and those who believe in Him will triumph. If you do not believe in Jesus Christ, make no mistake, you will be counted among the wicked, because no matter how good you perceive yourself to be, before a holy and perfect God you are a sinner. I urge you, repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

Mysterious Creatures Found in Antarctica

Posted by Job on February 22, 2008

Mysterious Creatures Found in Antarctica

Australia (AP) – Scientists investigating the icy waters of Antarctica
said Tuesday they have collected mysterious creatures including giant
sea spiders and huge worms in the murky depths.

Australian experts taking part in an international program to take a census of marine life
in the ocean at the far south of the world collected specimens from up
to 6,500 feet beneath the surface, and said many may never have been
seen before.

Some of the animals far under the sea grow to
unusually large sizes, a phenomenon called gigantism that scientists
still do not fully understand.

“Gigantism is very common in
Antarctic waters,” Martin Riddle, the Australian Antarctic Division
scientist who led the expedition, said in a statement. “We have
collected huge worms, giant crustaceans and sea spiders the size of
dinner plates.”

The specimens were being sent to universities
and museums around the world for identification, tissue sampling and
DNA studies.

“Not all of the creatures that we found could be
identified and it is very likely that some new species will be recorded
as a result of these voyages,” said Graham Hosie, head of the census

The expedition is part of an ambitious international effort to map life forms in the Antarctic Ocean, also known as the Southern Ocean, and to study the impact of forces such as climate change on the undersea environment.

Three ships—Aurora Australis from Australia, France’s L’Astrolabe and
Japan’s Umitaka Maru—returned recently from two months in the region as
part of the Collaborative East Antarctic Marine Census. The work is
part of a larger project to map the biodiversity of the world’s oceans.

The French and Japanese ships sought specimens from the mid- and
upper-level environment, while the Australian ship plumbed deeper
waters with remote-controlled cameras.

“In some places every inch of the sea floor
is covered in life,” Riddle said. “In other places we can see deep
scars and gouges where icebergs scour the sea floor as they pass by.”

Among the bizarre-looking creatures the scientists spotted were
tunicates, plankton-eating animals that resemble slender glass
structures up to a yard tall “standing in fields like poppies,” Riddle

Other animals were equally baffling.

“They had
fins in various places, they had funny dangly bits around their
mouths,” Riddle told reporters. “They were all bottom dwellers so they
were all evolved in different ways to live down on the sea bed in the
dark. So many of them had very large eyes—very strange looking fish.”

Scientists are planning a follow-up expedition in 10 to 15 years to
examine the effects of climate changes on the region’s environment.

Is Bishop Thomas Weeks III A Wife Beater? We Know He’s A Heretic!

Posted by Job on August 23, 2007

Read: When They Pierced His Side: The Blood And Water Of Jesus Christ

From IndependentConservative: Thomas Weeks Beats Juanita Bynum in Atlanta Airport Hotel Parking Lot. Mercy! and also I Knew Thomas Weeks Was a Heretic, But He Has Surpassed My Expectations of How Terrible a Heretic He Really is!. From the Atlanta Journal – Constitution (in my opinion the worst newspaper in the country, but hey it keeps winning Pulitzer Prizes) Husband attacks evangelist Bynum in parking lot. Please note that it says 1. Bynum and Weeks are SEPARATED (so why attend their marriage conferences since THEY ARE BOTH IN THEIR SECOND MARRIAGE ANYWAY!) and 2. Weeks beat Bynum so badly that she required a trip to the hospital and 3. Weeks fled the scene before the police could get him. Now can anyone deny that evil spirits are not involved here? All of you people who have been flooding this weblog with your defense of this couple, their members, and their friends in the religion industry (a great many of whom KNOW what this couple are really like), what do you have to say now?

Does this vindicate everything that I have been saying against Weeks III and Bynum? Actually, no it doesn’t. Why not? Because everyone sins. David committed adultery and then murdered “the other man.” Peter denied Jesus Christ three times, and then almost caused the church to split apart with his refusal to have table fellowship with Gentile Christians. Christians are going to sin (see my essay When Christians Sin)! How do I know this? BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO!

So the issue here is NOT the sin of Bishop Weeks III beating his wife. Rather, the real issue is the false doctrine of unitarianism (denial of Trinity) that Weeks and Bynum preaches, their false prosperity doctrine, and their getting rich off the gospel by exploiting and making merchandise of the poor. The worst part is that Weeks III (and his father Bishop Weeks II) and Bynum preach an abiblical doctrine of legalism and works that they themselves do not keep!

And some have asked, as did the sincere Pastor Anavah( plus her own weblog click here) in her comment whether I am against women preachers and enjoyable sex in marriage. Regarding the former, the Bible specifically forbids women having a position of authority over men in the church, and that is a consistent principle established in Old Testament Judaism and carrying over to the New Testament Body of Christ. If Pastor Anavah executes her ministry in a manner that respects the authority of God and the Bible (and not of any man) and is doctrinally sound and faithful to the Bible while doing so then who am I to condemn her calling and work? God forbid that I would do such a thing lest I be condemned myself on account of my false accusation, just as the friends of Job were! Yes, it is possible to minister while not having a position of authority over a man, and writing and distributing her book on spiritual warfare in fighting addiction (which can be ordered on her site) and maintaining a Christian website are excellent examples of how to do so. There are others, and I have tried to list them in my women preachers category, my favorite of which are women in India that converted to Christianity from Hinduism working as evangelists preaching the gospel in a society and culture that treats women quite shamefully and also persecutes Christians (see Women Preachers Working In The Asian Mission Field and Christian Persecution Alert: Female Indonesian Evangelists Released). And no, I am not against enjoyable sex in marriage. Quite the contrary, sexuality is a gift from God – and a spiritual one at that – that was given to be enjoyed by men and women within the confines of holy matrimony. But as false preachers tend to do, Weeks III and Bynum have taken a pure holy God – given gift and utterly defiled it with their false doctrines and own personal perversions, making it something base and wretched. Look at this clip where Weeks III asks this man to name the part of his wife’s anatomy that pleases him the most (a corrupt base view of sexuality; Jesus Christ called this pornea – the root word of pornography – and in Matthew 5:32 listed such evil as legitimate grounds for divorce), and when he gives a predictable response, Weeks III breaks out into uncontrollable laughter!

Strange laughter is a clear sign of demonic presence and activity, and though I am a charismatic with a Pentecostal background, we cannot ignore what many other Bible believing Christians have to say about some of our charismatic “laughing revivals!”

Make no mistake people, there is a statistically proven link between pornea (or pornography) and violence (including spousal and domestic abuse), there are demons involved in pornea and violence, and now you have Thomas Weeks III beating his estranged wife! So I ask you spiritual warfare deliverance minister Pastor Anavah, how on earth could you not know this? Your very position requires you to know it and to preach and teach against it, and not to defend the oneness heretics that exploit the poor trafficking their sexual drugs for financial gain! For I, Pastor Anavah, am not an ordained minister and nor do I hold any church position! This is something that you should be taking me aside and educating me on as did Priscilla to Apollos in Acts 18:24-26! So Pastor Anavah, rather than coming on here defending heresy, you need to be faithfully and zealously pursuing the call that God has put on your life! Monitor and multiply the talents that God has given you charge over lest He take them from you and give them to another, for the closing verse of the parable of the talents, Matthew 25:29, reads “For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.”

And this is not a personal attack on Pastor Anavah, who indeed seems to be someone sincerely seeking to serve to God. She represents all of you! God gave every member of the Body of Christ a work to do, a charge to keep, a ministry to fulfill, even if you are as I: not someone who holds a five fold ministry position or church office. You have read the warnings given to the churches in Revelation 2 and 3, and if you have not, please read them now! For it is not just about the false preachers. Judgment day is coming, and we will be held accountable: me and ALL OF YOU!

And this is to all of you people who keep claiming how we need unity in the Body of Christ. See this link and understand why I REFUSE TO UNITE WITH HERETICS! LIGHT HAS NO UNITY WITH DARKNESS!

And in closing, here is the news report of Bynum’s being beaten, courtesy of IndependentConservative: . I will point out, in the interests of fairness, that Bishop Weeks III has not had a chance to address these charges, let alone be convicted in a court of law of them, and some have alleged that there is something amiss about this whole affair. Well you can decide for yourself about the domestic violence accusations against the man, but in terms of his heresies and blasphemies, well his own words (and actions in other matters) condemn this oneness false preacher.

As I have said time and time again, there is a war going on. Now is the time for hand to hand spiritual combat, not lukewarm sitting on the sidelines. If you are not saved, follow The Three Step Salvation Plan and get saved. If you claim salvation but have no desire to fight, now is the time to study the scriptures (try and examine yourself to see whether you be truly in the faith!

Deepak Receives Healing And Spiritual Deliverance In Nepal

Posted by Job on August 22, 2007

Imagine if you saw a man living in the forest, a man who seemed to act more like a wild animal than a human. What would you do? You may be frightened and want to back away. For Gospel for Asia missionary Akash, the choice was simple: He would pray for the man. And as he and the believers in his GFA-affiliated church faithfully prayed for this man named Deepak, the Lord healed him! Read more about Deepak—and the other lives that have been touched in a village in Nepal—here.I appreciate you and your prayers, which make it possible for Akash to serve the Lord in Nepal. Yours for the unreached, K.P. Yohannan

The sight of the man filled Gospel for Asia missionary Akash and his team with compassion. Left alone in the forest, this young man had been considered deranged for years. In fact, he scarcely seemed human. As the missionaries approached him, he muttered something incomprehensible. Once they heard him speak, they realized that he was demon-possessed.

Drawing near to Deepak, the missionaries began to pray for him. In the days that followed, they and the believers in Akash’s congregation continued to pray for him. Within two weeks, Deepak was restored and delivered—much to the amazement of the other villagers. Everyone knew the kind of person Deepak had once been, and they were amazed to see his radical transformation.

Beginning to see that Jesus could heal anyone, the villagers brought to Pastor Akash six others who suffered from mental illness. As Akash and the believers in his church faithfully prayed for these people, the Lord healed each one.

The sight of the man filled GFA missionary Akash and his team with compassion.
Through the healings, people in the village are seeing God’s power at work and His love for those living in bondage. Akash asks for prayer that all in this Nepali village will experience the redemptive love of Jesus in their hearts. Also pray for those who were healed, that they will grow in the love and grace of the Lord.

The Evil Spirit Of Immoral Sex

Please note: I am not Bill Keller, and he is not me. Please do not bother Pastor Keller regarding things that I have written on this weblog! Only the text that does not appear in italics within this post was produced by Pastor Keller.

The “sex spirit.” This is the spirit that is responsible for fornication,
adultery, lust, homosexuality, and every other sexual sin. After all, we
know there has to be some reason so many people commit sexual sin and the
“sex spirit” is the answer. Since sexual sin is something almost everyone
fights at some point in their life, I should actually write a book about the
“sex spirit.” It would sell millions of copies worldwide to people who are
Christians as well as to those who are not. It would actually be a best
seller in the homosexual community and to others who have rejected God’s
plan for sex since it would explain their actions. I could actually take a
few verses here and a few verses there to even make a Biblical case for the
“sex spirit.”

However, there is only one small problem, THERE IS NO SUCH THING!!! I am
sorry to have to tell you this, but there is NO “sex spirit.” It doesn’t
exist. Oh trust me, I know people want it to exist. They want something to
blame their sinful behavior on and blaming it on a “sex spirit” would be
perfect. You see, if there really was a “sex spirit,” then you don’t have to
take responsibility for YOUR CHOICES since it wasn’t you, it was the “sex
spirit” that made you do it.

When you read the Bible cover to cover, one of the things you understand is
that the Bible is a book of personal responsibility. We are personally
responsible for the choices we make in our life. Blaming someone or
something else doesn’t work! Ever since man committed the very first sin in
the Garden of Eden, he has been trying to blame his sin on someone or
something else. Look at Adam. When confronted with his sin by God what did
he do? HE BLAMED GOD AND EVE!!! Like I say so often, we have not changed one
bit since the Garden. But God was not interested in Adam’s excuse and God is
not interested in your excuse either.

I’m not sure if you noticed lately, but God is one smart guy. You see, God
gave us something called “free will.” Free will means we are NOT
pre-programmed robots, but have the ability to make our own choices
throughout our life. The upside to this is that we can choose to do whatever
we want. If you want to be an Adolph Hitler and commit your life to
destroying lives and killing millions of people, you can do it. If you want
to be a Billy Graham and commit your life to preaching the Gospel to the
world and be used by God to bring millions to know Christ as their Savior,
you can do it. Free will means you have the ability to choose to do whatever
you want.

Because God gave man free will, it also means that we are PERSONALLY
RESPONSIBLE for the choices that we make. Now I understand in today’s
society accepting personal responsibility is not popular. We have to always
find a “reason” why people do the things they do. Children that are
hyperactive, have way too much energy, who act like children should are now
told they have ADD or ADHD. While in a percentage of cases there may be a
medical issue that exists, in most cases it is simply an excuse for children
that have not been properly disciplined or are simply just being kids.

No place do we see people making excuses for their choices more than in the
criminal justice system. It is the job of well paid defense lawyers to dream
up excuses to explain away a person’s criminal actions. They have come up
with every reason you can imagine to explain why a person who committed a
crime was not really responsible for their actions. This mentality has
permeated to every part of our society, and finding reasons to explain why
people are not responsible for the choices they make has become an art.

Let me make sure you understand, this may work in the world in which we
live, but it doesn’t work with God. God has given us free will to make our
own choices, but along with that freedom, comes the responsibility for
whatever choices we make. God is not interested in your excuse why you
sinned, only in you taking responsibility for that sin. He has even given us
a wonderful promise in 1 John 1:9 that tells us, if we will confess our
sins, take personal responsibility for our sins, He will not only forgive us
but cleanse us from all unrighteousness. All God wants us to do is to be
honest, not make excuses, and take personal responsibility for the choices
we make.

I love you and care about you so much. I am sorry that there is no “sex
spirit,” or anything else you can blame for sin in that area. God has given
us the choice to either obey Him, or disobey Him. When we choose to disobey
Him, it was not another person, a “spirit,” or anything else we can blame.
It was OUR CHOICE. I will be praying for you today, praying that you will
realize that you have got to be responsible for whatever choices you make in
this life. You, and you alone made those choices, and you, and you alone
have to be responsible for the choices you make.

This is why the moment we die and stand before God, there is only one
question He is going to ask us. It is not what day of the week we went to
church. It is not the name of the building we choose to worship Him in. It
is not how successful you may have been in this life. No my friend, the only
question God is going to ask you is, “Do you have a personal relationship by
faith with my Son Jesus.” You either do, or you don’t. If you do, God will
welcome you into His presence for eternity. If you don’t, you will be
eternally separated from God your Creator. Period.

If you don’t, God is NOT going to be interested in any of your excuses. “Jim
and Tammy had an air conditioned dog house.” The pastor in my church ran off
with the choir director.” “Somebody was mean to me at church.” “Christians
are hypocrites.” “I don’t like Bill Keller.” “All they care about is money.”
” I was a good person.” “The Bible was written by mere men.” “My dog ate my
homework.” No, God is not going to be interested in hearing any of your
excuses for why you rejected Jesus Christ as your Savior. That is a personal
decision each person must make in this life, and each person will be held
responsible by God for eternity for that decision.

If you have not made the decision to accept Christ into your heart and life
by faith, the Bible says that TODAY is the day of salvation. I would invite
you to go to,  . Pray to ask God
to open your heart, read the words, pray the prayer, and accept today God’s
gift to you of everlasting life through His son Jesus Christ.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Spiritual Warfare: Are You Prepared?

Posted by Job on August 15, 2007

“And ye shall tread down the wicked;
for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet
in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Malachi 4:3
I.Every child of God has been given a promise of victory over Satan.

Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord …”

Malachi 4:3 “And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.”

Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers … nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

James 4:7 ” … Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

1 John 4:4 “You … have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

II. It is important that we recognize who our enemy is and what his tactics are. “For we are not ignorant of his (Satan’s) devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11
A. Our battle is “not against flesh and blood ” (things in the natural realm), “but against … spiritual wickedness.” “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal …”
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
Ephesians 6:12

B. Authority must be taken over Satan’s attempts to hinder the work and the word of God. There are spiritual powers that must be broken.

Daniel 10:12-13
1 Thessalonians 2:18

C. Satan’s main device is deception.

1. Subtlety.

Genesis 3: 1 “Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field …” 2 Corinthians 11:3

2. Doubt.

Genesis 3:1 “Yea, hath God said … ?”
Luke 4:3, 9; Matthew 4:3, 6 “If thou be the Son of God … if …”

3. Lies.

Genesis 3:4
John 8:44
III. The Bible uses several metaphors to describe the “fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:12) that the believer must wage against the evil one.

A. Boxer.

1 Corinthians 9:26 “I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air …”

B. Soldier.

2 Timothy 2:3-5 “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”

Ephesians 6:11-17 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil…. take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore …”

C. Wrestler.

Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
IV. What does it mean to “resist the devil”? How can this be done?

A. The armor of God.

Ephesians chapter 6.

1. Truth. (v. 14)

2. Righteousness. (v. 14)

3. Salvation. (v. 17; 1 Thessalonians 5:8)

4. The gospel of peace. (v. 15)

5. Faith.

Ephesians 6:14 1 Thessalonians 5:8

a. Paul says that faith is of primary importance: “above all …”

Ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

1 Peter 5:8-9 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh seeking whom he may devour: whom resist steadfast in the faith …”

1 John 5:4-5 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith …”

b. But faith and the word are inseparable.

(1) The word did not profit them, not being mixed with faith. Hebrews 4:2

(2) Yet faith comes through the word (“rhema “) of God.
Romans 10:17

(3) It must be both by confession of the mouth and belief
in the heart. Romans 10:9

6. The word of God.

Ephesians 6:17
Mark 11:24-25
Numbers 13:30

a. It was the spoken (“rhema ” word that Jesus used in confronting the devil in the wilderness. He did not recite miscellaneous scriptures to the devil, but delivered the word of God with authority and power.

Luke 4:4, 10, 12

b. Notice that this is the only offensive part of the armor, referred to in scripture as a “two-edged sword.”

Psalms 149:6-9
Ephesians 6:17
Hebrews 4:12
Revelation 2:16

B. The weapon of praise.

Numbers 10:9, 35; 31:6-7
1 Samuel 16:23
2 Chronicles 20:21-22 (Note especially the fact that it was their initiative: “when they began …”)

Psalms 68:1-2; 149:5-9
Isaiah 33:3
Joel chapter 2
Acts 16:24-26

C. The anointing.

1 Samuel 16:14-23
Isaiah 10:27

D. Prayer.

Luke 22:31-32
V. To stand victoriously in battle against the enemy, certain spiritual requirements must be met in the life of the believer.

A. Obedience.

Deuteronomy 11:22-25
Deuteronomy 28:1, 7

B. A right relationship with God.

Deuteronomy 11:22-25
Psalm 91

C. No area of the life left exposed to the devil: giving him no foothold.

Ephesians 4:27
VI. It is the responsibility of the believer to prepare for battle, to put on the whole armour of God” (Ephesians 6:11), and to “stand against the evil one” (vv. 11-14) – these are active verbs.

But it is God Who fights the battle. Indeed, Jesus Christ has already defeated the enemy for us. We must simply walk in the victory!

Deuteronomy 20:1
2 Chronicles 20:15
Colossians 2:15

Why Spiritual Armor?

Rom 13:12 (NIV) The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Jer 46:3-4 (NIV) “Prepare your shields, both large and small, and march out for battle! Harness the horses, mount the steeds! Take your positions with helmets on! Polish your spears, put on your armour!”

1 Cor 14:8 (GLT) For if a trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who will get himself ready for war?

Luke 21:36 (NIV) “Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

Mal 3:2 (NAS) But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears?..

1 Cor 10:12-13 (NIV) So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Jude 1:24 (Wey) But to Him who is able to keep you safe from stumbling, and cause you to stand in the presence of His glory free from blemish and full of exultant joy…

Jas 4:7 (NAS) Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

*The Belt of Truth

Eph 6:14 (NRS) …fasten the belt of truth around your waist…

Isa 11:5 (NIV) Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash round his waist.

Ex 12:11 (NIV) This is how you are to eat it [the passover lamb]: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand…

1 Kings 18:46 (NIV) The power of the Lord came upon Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

Eph 4:25 (NKJ) Therefore, put away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor.”

The Breastplate of Righteousness

Php 3:9 (NRS) …Not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but one that comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God based on faith.

Isa 59:16-17 (NAS) …Then His own arm brought salvation to Him, and His righteousness upheld Him. He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head…

Ex 28:15 (NIV) “Fashion a breastpiece for making decisions… Make it like the ephod…”

1Ki 3:9 (NIV) So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong.

Ps 94:15 (NIV) Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

Pr 2:7-8 (NIV) He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair–every good path.

Standing on The Gospel

Eph 6:15 (NIV) …your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

Eph 6:15 (Wey) …as well as the shoes of the Good News of peace–a firm foundation for your feet.

Rom 10:15 (KJV) …As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
(Imagine yourself standing barefooted in a rocky climate, like in the Middle East. You could move–ever so carefully–but without shoes you would be useless in battle. The weight of the other pieces of armor would only make your feet more sensitive if you had no protection. You would be a “push-over” for the enemy, as you would have no agility and be wincing in pain every time you attempted to move. This is why it is essential to have our “feet shod with the gospel of peace”

The Helmet Of Salvation [Jesus]

Isa 59:16-17 (KJV) And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation [Yeshua] upon his head…

1 Th 5:8 (NAS) But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love; and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

Ps 140:7 (NAS) “O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation [Yeshua], You have covered my head in the day of battle.”
*Jesus–Yeshua in Hebrew–means “Salvation”. Salvation is Jesus Christ*

Col 1:18 (NKJ) And He is the head of the body, the church…

1 Cor 2:16 (NIV) “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Php 2:5 (NKJ) Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…

1 Pet 4:1 (NKJ) Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.

2 Cor 10:3-5 (NRS) Indeed, we live as human beings, but we do not wage war according to human standards; for the weapons of our warfare are not merely human, but they have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every proud obstacle raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.

Eph 4:14-16 (NKJ) …We should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head–Christ–from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
The Sword of The Spirit – The Word of God

Isa 49:2 (NAS) He has made My mouth like a sharp sword, In the shadow of His hand He has concealed Me; And He has also made Me a select arrow, He has hidden Me in His quiver.

Heb 4:12-13 (NKJ) For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

2 Cor 6:7 (NIV) …in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left…

Ps 149:4-6 (NIV) For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. Let the saints rejoice in this honour and sing for joy on their beds. May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands.
The Shield of Faith

Eph 6:16 (Wey) …take the great shield of faith, on which you will be able to quench all the flaming darts of the Wicked one.

Ps 35:1-3,9 (NIV) Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. Take up shield and buckler; arise and come to my aid. Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”… Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in his salvation [yes, Yeshua again].

Ps 3:2-3 (GLT) Many are saying of my soul, There is no salvation for him in God. Selah. But You, O Jehovah, are a shield around me; [you are] my glory and He who lifts up my head.

1 Pet 1:5 (NAS) …who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Ps 33:20 (NIV) We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.

1 Tim 6:12 (NIV) Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

1 John 5:4-5 (Wey) For every child of God overcomes the world; and the victorious principle which has overcome the world is our faith. Who but the man that believes that Jesus is the Son of God overcomes the world?

Pr 30:5 (NIV) “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”
Be Strong In The Lord, By the Power of Grace
1 Cor 16:13 (NIV) Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.

2 Tim 2:1 (GLT) …Be empowered by grace in Christ Jesus.

Eph 3:7 (GLT) …I was made a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me, according to the working of His power.

2 Cor 9:8 (NIV) And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Col 1:11 (Wey) Since His power is so glorious, may you be strengthened with strength of every kind, and be prepared…

Php 4:13 (NAS) I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
The Battle is The Lord’s

1 Sam 17:47 (NKJ) [David, speaking to Goliath] “Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

Deut 20:3-4 (NIV) …”Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be faint-hearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”

Ps 18:32-35 (NIV) It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great.

Zec 4:6 (NIV) …”‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”

Rom 11:36 (GLT) Because of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.

When Evangelizing, Be Led By The Holy Spirit!

Posted by Job on July 3, 2007

From Edited Messages on Acts by J. Vernon McGee

So often we are rather brisk and even crude in our witnessing. Because we find it difficult, generally when we do it we are very amateurish. We do it so abruptly and in such a way that often it offends people. We need to be led by the Spirit of God.

I believe that the finest kind of evangelism today is prayer evangelism. I mean that we should begin by praying for an individual. Then the day will come when we need to put legs on the prayer. Ask God to lead you. Friend, I know that He will lead you. If you have been praying for a loved one, or a friend, or a stranger, don’t just go to him in your own strength and in the power of the flesh. If you do, you will fail. Let God be the One to lead you.

When I was a student in college, I was very zealous to be a witness for God, but I was rather timid about it, and, very frankly, I wanted to be sure I had the leading of the Holy Spirit. I didn’t have any money for bus or train fare, so I did a lot of hitchhiking. One time when I was out on the highway, a man in a brand new Model A Ford drove by and stopped fifty yards past me. Then he motioned for me to come on and get in. He said that he always looked over a hitchhiker before he picked one up. He introduced himself and told me he was a salesman for drug companies. He was going all the way to Memphis and he would be glad to take me all the way, but he did need to stop at several drug stores on the way to get his orders from them.

As we rode along, we talked of everything under the sun. Under my breath I was praying, “Lord, I’d like to witness to this man, but You will have to open the door for me. I’m not going to broach the subject because if I do, he’ll think he has some religious nut in the car with him. If I open the door, he will probably open the car door and tell me to get out.” So we rode along some more and just talked and talked.

We got about sixty miles from Memphis and we had run out of conversation. There was a lull, and I was still praying, “Lord, we’re getting near Memphis and there still hasn’t been a door open for me. I’m not going to open it because I’m afraid he’ll throw me out. You open the door for me if You want me to witness.” We rode on for about ten more minutes, and then out of a clear sky he said, “You know, my wife and I went to church yesterday.” He looked at me and laughed, and I laughed. Then he said, “I don’t go very often. But that preacher said the funniest thing. He said Jesus was coming to this earth again. What do you think about that?”

Well, friend, I told him. Then I told him all about the first coming of the Lord Jesus. Finally I said, “The second coming of Christ means nothing to you now. You’ve got to come to Christ and accept what He did for you the first time He came if you are to have an interest in His second coming.” This man was wide open. He drove me to the dormitory where I stayed at the college. He parked there and said, “I want to see you again.” So I just blurted out, “Wouldn’t you like to accept Christ as your Savior?” He said, “I sure would,” I told him he could do that right there in the car. So we bowed our heads in prayer. I prayed and then asked him to pray, and he accepted Christ.

Now I’ll be honest with you, I would never have opened my mouth if the Lord hadn’t prompted him to open up the conversation. We need to be led by the Spirit.

Deliverance from Addiction

Dear Thru the Bible,

Through the last three years that I’ve been listening to Thru the Bible there have been many changes in my life. I was a hard-core drug addict struggling with a life-consuming addiction to methamphetamine, I.V. use. I thank Jesus for the brothers and sisters that He sent into my life to bring me to the foot of the Cross. Of these, one was our dear brother, friend, and teacher J. Vernon, who through solid Bible teaching helped me to have the courage and strength I needed to overcome strong temptation. I’ll always remember I was digging a power trench with an excavator, and I can’t remember exactly where J. Vernon was teaching from, but I was convicted to quit my last addiction: cigarettes. I’ve been clean from meth for three years and from smoking and alcohol for two years and three months. May our Savior Jesus continue His blessings for your ministry.

Please see this other testimony of someone whom God gave hope through a difficult situation:

Emerging from Devastation

Before we began airing Thru the Bible in Tagalog to the Philippines in 2003, our Trans World Radio (TWR) broadcasting partners visited local churches and developed relationships with pastors. This testimony was received from one of those pastors who ministers to our radio listeners in the Bicol Region.

Every year there are 20 to 30 typhoons that visit the Philippines, and half of those will surely hit the land of Bicolandia. Before the year 2006 ended, three successive typhoons…smashed Bicol region and the land was totally devastated.

During the devastation I had done nothing but pray for God’s mercy and protection for all His people. After the violent winds, heavy rains, and flashing flood stopped, my wife and I decided to roam around the city of Sorsogon to see the damage. My heart was seemingly broken when my very own eyes saw the heartbreaking scenario of the damage. Thousands of families became homeless. Most of them were hopeless on how they would survive from that tragedy. People were seeking a hand that could help them recover. During that time, I did not know what to do to help them. But of course I believe that prayer is and should be the first step towards action. So I extended my prayers for them.

I was amazed with the goodness of God when our brethren from TWR sent financial help for these victims of tragedy. My team and I conducted house-to-house visitation asking of the immediate needs of those families. The following day we returned with something to help them. I cannot forget that day, for I observed how God works in the lives of those people. Along with those helps, we also shared the gospel with them. Most of them accepted Jesus in their lives.

The following Sunday, I was so surprised when many of those people we helped attended our worship service. From then on they became regular attendees in our church. I was also amazed when I came to know that some of those people are avid listeners of Ang Paglalakbay. And so we took the opportunity to start Bible studies in their respective houses. Most of our discussions are related to topics being aired on the program. Praise be to God! Now I do not agree with everything the late Dr. McGee preaches, such as his assertion that Christians cannot be afflicted or tormented by demonic influences. But this shows that even Christians that disagree on certain issues that are not “foundational” can edify one another in areas which they agree!

Luke 10:19 What Power And Authority Over Satan Means

Posted by Job on June 28, 2007

Today’s Broadcast When the Spirit Speaks Listen Online Podcast

BIBLE MEDITATION: “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: A police officer weighing 160 pounds may effectively stand before a tanker truck and, with an uplifted hand, say, “Stop, in the name of the law.” The police officer certainly couldn’t stop the truck with his physical force. He is appealing to an authority greater than himself — the law — to back him up. Your authority over Satan is the same way. Your authority does not rest in your strength. You cannot overcome Satan with your power but rather with Kingdom Authority from God. And you have that as a child of the King. You have His authority to overcome every attack of Satan.

ACTION POINT: Sing of the power of the Lord. Find a hymnal and sing or meditate on the verses of “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.” Visit Love Worth Finding Ministries

Do you know Jesus?

More Scandal In The Creationism Movement

Posted by Job on June 21, 2007

First, we had , Kent Hovind, going to jail over tax evasion. Now you have one leading creationism group suing another over fraud.  The love of money is the root of all evil, people. Who was the king of Israel that served the Lord, but not with a perfect heart? Amaziah it seems (II Chronicles 25:1-3). It looks like the sum of money is not inconsequential; over $250,000, and they tried to resolve the dispute for two years in mediation before one of the groups filed lawsuit. See this sad story below, and ask yourself why it seems increasingly difficult for Christians to handle their financial matters with integrity. Father God in the Name of Jesus Christ, please guide Christians in their financial and legal dealings. May their only goal regarding their financial matters be to obey, serve, and glorify you, rather than to seek their own gain or to perform their own accomplishments. Please, Lord, cause such people to know that money is not worth their soul, and if they are acting outside of Your Will their efforts will not bear good fruit no matter how much money they raise or spend. Also, Lord, please expose and cast down the criminals who are exploiting Your Word for profit so that they might not mislead and deceive anymore. Amen.

There’s a rift in the Garden of Eden. Answers in Genesis, a creationist group that operates the new Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky., is being sued by another group of creationists in Australia, Creation Ministries International. Creation Ministries filed the lawsuit in the Supreme Court of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, against Answers in Genesis and its president, Ken Ham. The two groups, which both take the Bible literally, are accusing each other of unbiblical conduct. Creation Ministries International claims that Answers in Genesis told subscribers of magazines published by Creation Ministries that they were no longer available and switched subscribers to a magazine published by Answers in Genesis. Clarrie Briese, a former Australian judge who at the request of Creation Ministries investigated the dispute between the two groups, accused Answers in Genesis of “unbiblical, unethical, unlawful behavior.” Answers in Genesis countered that the unbiblical behavior came from Creation Ministries. The group issued a statement that said litigation “is contrary to the biblical standard for Christians in handling disputes with other Christians.” It even quoted chapter and verse, with the answer not in Genesis, but in Corinthians. “First Corinthians, chapter 6, verses 1-8, teaches that Christians should not go to civil court against other Christians,” Answers in Genesis said in its statement. “Creation Ministries’ interest appears to be more about scoring points by publicizing the conflict, rather than taking a biblical approach to conflict resolution.

Answers in Genesis called Creation Ministries’ allegations “baseless and without merit.” “We have been working for more than two years to resolve this matter and have offered independent Christian mediation and binding arbitration through Peacemaker Ministries, a professional, internationally recognized Christian conciliation organization,” Answers in Genesis said in its statement. “At one point, we even volunteered to fly Creation Ministries’ entire board here at our expense to discuss the matter in detail in an effort to resolve the conflict.” Answers in Genesis spokesman Mark Looy said the group had nothing more to say about the lawsuit beyond its statement. Creation Ministries noted in its lawsuit that Ham, a native of Australia, was an employee of Creation Ministries from 1980 to 2004 and had been commissioned to establish similar ministries in the United States. Answers in Genesis was supposed to distribute Creation Ministries magazines, but, the lawsuit alleges, Answers in Genesis “misled or deceived” subscribers by saying the magazines weren’t available and switching subscribers to a magazine published by Answers in Genesis. Briese, in his investigation of the matter at the request of Creation Ministries, said Answers in Genesis and Ham had caused “massive financial damage” to Creation Ministries. Creation Ministries said it lost 39,000 magazine subscribers that produced annual gross revenue of $252,000. The lawsuit seeks a judgment that Answers in Genesis acted improperly, requests an injunction to halt the activity and asks for unspecified financial damages.

Mr. Joe Average And Evolution

Posted by Job on June 21, 2007

Ray Comfort’s monthly column, this is the original link.

Joe Average doesn’t think about creation, let alone the Creator. If you asked him if God had ever done anything for him, he probably couldn’t think of one thing.

He gets out of bed early in the morning in his beachfront home, makes some toast, and without much thought spreads on some butter and honey. He then walks outside, takes a deep breath of the cool morning air, and breathes out slowly. He drinks a glass of milk as he looks at his rose garden, and listens to the birds chirping at the break of another day. He smiles, because as he looks towards the ocean he sees that rain is on its way. That means he won’t have to water his garden. It’s just another average day for Joe Average.

Not quite. There is nothing “average” about Joe or what he has done that morning. He’s actually a miracle machine that no man-made mechanism could ever begin to even imitate.

Recently, brilliant Japanese scientists created an amazing robot. It was amazing because it was so human-like, and could even move like a human. There were a few obvious differences from Homo sapiens though. It wasn’t alive, and it couldn’t think, see, hear, touch, taste, or smell. Despite this, it was a marvel of human technology–the very best we can do at this moment in history.

There were a few other things the robot couldn’t do. It couldn’t run, walk, or even stand on its own two feet. Scientists had to hold it upright, because they didn’t know how to create feet that balance an upright body of that size, let alone walk and run. Human feet are far too complex in design to imitate(1.). However, Joe had no problem standing upright and walking, because his extraordinary feet were designed and created by God.

The run-of-the-mill piece of toast he made wasn’t ordinary either. It came from bread, and the bread came from wheat, which came from the soil. God created the soil, and the soil contained nutrients that fed the wheat-seed, and it formed itself into the wheat plant, which then produced more wheat seeds. When the seeds where harvested, they were ground into flour, and mixed with yeast to make bread, so that Joe would have something to eat to satisfy his God-given appetite, so that he would have energy for that day.

The butter that he spread on the toast came from milk that came from a cow that chewed grass that came from soil nutrients that God created.

The honey(2.) came from an insect that God created to collect nectar from flowers than grew from the soil that He had made.

As Joe gazed at his garden and took in a deep breath, he breathed in life-giving oxygen that had been breathed out by trees that God had made(3.). He then breathed out carbon dioxide so that the trees would have something to breathe in.

The reason he drank the milk(4.) was because God had created him with a reoccurring thirst that caused him to want to drink the liquid that came from the cow that chewed the grass that came from the dirt that God had made.

Joe looked at his yard using his amazing God-given eyes, with their millions of light sensitive cells and incredible self-focusing muscles, which sent the image to his brain. There, he saw his garden, filled with colorful flowers, waiting for the bees to come and get nectar to make honey for his toast.

With his astoundingly made ears, he listened to the variety of chirping birds, as they welcomed a new day and sung praises to Him who created all things.

As the rain began to drop, he didn’t consider that each drop of rain was being miraculously held in its own form by its skin(5.). As it drops through the heavens, the sun shines through the transparent liquid and splays out into the seven colors of the rainbow. As the sun hits the water, its rays are traveling at 186,000 miles per second in a perfectly straight line, until they are refracted into a mired of different directions by that tiny fast-moving water drop.

When the little drop hits the vast ocean, it sends out tiny waves in a perfect circle, as the energy from it is absorbed into the great ocean.

The sea looks flat to Joe’s unthinking eye, but over the horizon, the seemingly flat ocean curves to his left, to his right, as well as in front of him, and on the other side of the earth it turns upside down. Yet it doesn’t spill into space because of the same law of gravity that God created that pulled the drop from the great cloud to water Mr. Average’s garden. This is all happening as Joe stands on this huge ball of dirt we call “earth,” that is spinning around, as well as moving through space at 67,000 mph.

As the Bible so rightly observes of the wonders of God’s creation, “Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him?”(6.)

Do you believe God made all these things? If not, then you create a cow that can chew green grass and make white milk that turns into yellow butter. You make an eye, an ear, or a brain. Just make one . . . from nothing. Or make a living flower that can make nectar than can be collected by bees that you made, and have them whip it into honey. Or create one drop of water from nothing and cause the sun rays to split into seven colors.

If you can do these things, then sit back and expect the birds to sing your praises. You deserve it. Until that time, you had better do what I did many years ago when my blind eyes were opened to the works of Almighty God. Lay your hand upon your sinful mouth, humble yourself, and then bow your ungrateful heart in worship to the God that gave you life and lavished His goodness upon you. Then quickly obey His fearful voice, and make peace with Him through the blood of the cross.

1 The human ankle serves as foundation, shock absorber, and propulsion engine. The foot can sustain enormous pressure (several tons over the course of a one-mile run) and provides flexibility and resiliency. The foot and ankle contain 26 bones; 33 joints; more than 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments; and a network of blood vessels, nerves, skin, and soft tissue. These components work together to provide the body with support, balance, and mobility.

2 The composition of honey consists of varying proportions of fructose, glucose, water, oil and special enzymes produced by bees. With their tongues, they suck out the nectar and store it in sacs within their bodies. After filling their sacs with these sweet juices, they then fly back to their bee hive and regurgitate the stored nectar into the mouths of house bees. These bees are assigned the job of adding enzymes from their bodies to the nectar. The enzymes cause the water in the nectar to evaporate-thereby turning the nectar into honey. Lastly, the nectar is stored in a cell of a honeycomb. Overtime, the nectar ripens and becomes honey.

3 Trees are our breathing partners. You may not live in a forest, but you and I need trees in order to live. People and animals depend on trees and plants for oxygen. As you breathe in, your body uses oxygen. As you breathe out, it gives off carbon dioxide. Trees do just the opposite. They take in carbon dioxide and then release oxygen (which also helps clean the air). We use trees for the paper to make books, but there are actually more than 5,000 things made from trees–baseball bats, shoe polish, and even toothpaste that comes from tree extracts.

4 To get the nutrients from the grass the cow first has to swallow the grass, whole, into her first stomach. When it is full, the cow rests and regurgitates the grass back up, a mouthful at a time to chew it. The chewed grass gets swallowed into the cow’s second stomach, which also catches all the strange things a cow might swallow when eating grass. The grass then goes into the cow’s third stomach, which breaks it down even more. Then it goes into the Abomasum, which works like our stomach – it adds acid to the grass to break it down until the bits are small enough to be absorbed into our bloodstream. The cow’s udder has mammary glands that collect the right mixture of ingredients from its blood and turn it into milk. Milk contains several hundreds of chemical components.

5 Water’s surface tension is characterized by an elastic-type sheet on the edge of the liquid. In physics, this phenomenon is known as water’s “skin,” as the thin layer of skin allows certain insects, small metal objects and other minuscule things to seemingly walk on water.
