Motivated at least in part by the current controvery over oneness heretic T.D. Jakes, (also here and here) please read two very good pieces on the importance of the Holy Trinity. Hopefully, this will help Christians understand that we are to separate with heretics, not dialogue with them.

Oneness Pentecostals, as well as Christians who support and fellowship with oneness Pentecostals, here is a question of you.
The Bible declares God the Father, called the Ancient of Days (see Daniel 7, especially verses 9, 13, and 22) to be King in various places. The Bible declares God the Son, called the Angel of the Lord in His preincarnate form (see Joshua 5:14-15, also Exodus 3:4-6 cross referenced with Exodus 3:2, Acts 7:30, Acts 7:35 ) and the Word of God (John 1:1-18, Proverb 8 especially verse 30) and Jesus Christ to be King.
However, the Holy Spirit, called the Spirit of God the Father (Matthew 10:20, Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18) and the Spirit of God the Son (Galatians 4:6, Romans 8:9, Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18) is never declared to be King by scripture at any time. Also, where both God the Father and God the Son are both spoken of as being glorified and exalted, to my knowledge God the Holy Spirit is never spoken of by scripture as being glorified or exalted at any time.
How is this possible? I welcome your replies. Thank you.

“But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he
is guilty of an eternal sin.” (Mark 3:29)
One of the things that amazes me as much as anything in this life, are those
people whose hearts become so hardened, that at some point they decide to go
to war with God. I honestly don’t know if there is anything more stupid a
human being could do. The Bible says in the 14th Psalm, “The fool says in
his heart there is no God.” If the Bible declares that a person who simply
says there is no God is a fool, what does that make a person who decides to
go to war against God, the One who created them?
Two such men, clearly fools who have become tools of satan are Brian
Flemming and Brian “Sapient.” Sapient is not really the second Brian’s last
name. He simply uses that because he fears for his life if his real last
name was known. Now that I actually find amusing. A guy who thinks he is big
enough to fight God, but so concerned about his personal safety he has to
hide his identity.
Just for a quick contrast, my real last name is Keller. My office address is
published to millions often. Where I produce my TV program each night is
published to the world often. Despite receiving an average of 10-12 death
threats a month for 8 years now, I have no security detail and no huge
staff. I don’t hide in secret offices or disguise myself when out in public.
I am a servant of the Lord, and a true servant has to be accessible or what
good is he? I find that only those who live in fear have to hide and worry
about people trying to harm them.
Flemming is the founder of “Beyond Belief Media” and the producer of a movie
called, “The God Who Wasn’t There.” Sapient is the founder of a group called
the “Rational Response Squad.” You can Google their names and these groups
they lead to read more about them. They have evolved over the years into
nothing more than tools of satan to actively lead people away from the
Christian faith and have now made it their life’s work to attack God, the
Bible, and Jesus Christ.
These two men have recently come together to start what they call the
“Blasphemy Challenge.” Again, you can take the time to Google “Blasphemy
Challenge” and go to their website and read all about this bold and brazen
outreach to lead your children straight to hell! This whole challenge is
based on the passage out of Mark 3:29 that says whoever blasphemes the Holy
Spirit has committed the unpardonable sin and will never be forgiven.
There has always been much theological debate surrounding this passage and
what it really means. Let me break it down for you in simple terms. The
bottom line is that there is only one sin that you cannot be forgiven for,
and that is rejecting Jesus Christ. Period. As long as you have breath, at
any moment you can cry out to the Lord, repent of your sins, and ask Him to
forgive you and your sins will be forgiven and you will be saved.
To blaspheme the Holy Spirit is to literally reject Jesus Christ. While
technically you can always ask God to forgive you, in reality what happens
is that a person’s heart becomes so hardened that it becomes virtually
impossible for them to ever have the desire or will to ask God’s
forgiveness. A perfect recent example is Adolph Hitler. Up until he pulled
the trigger and killed himself, he could have called on the name of Jesus
and been saved. However, his heart was so hardened from his rejection of
Christ, that was not even something he considered.
Satan’s tools Brian 1 and Brian 2 have put out a challenge for young people
to make a video of themselves blaspheming the Holy Spirit, or rejecting
Christ in different ways, and then post it on the popular video-sharing
website YouTube. So they are giving young adults who have rejected Christ
and the Truth of God’s Word at this stage of their life already, an excuse
and forum to make a bold and visible stand against Jesus Christ. This only
helps them to harden their hearts even more from being able to receive the
love of Jesus Christ. How sad is that?
These groups that these Brian’s have formed, “Beyond Belief Media” and the
“Rational Response Squad,” are activist organizations designed to bring
together others who reject God, the Bible, and Jesus, while boldly, visibly,
and without shame standing in the marketplace and tearing down the Christian
faith and those who follow Jesus Christ. The movie, “The God Who Wasn’t
There” and the “Blasphemy Challenge” website are tools they are using to
help people who have already rejected the love of Christ to justify their
rejection and find comfort in their choice.
REMEMBER, SATAN IS THE GREAT JUSTIFIER AND HE WILL ALWAYS HELP YOU JUSTIFY
YOUR CHOICE TO REJECT GOD, HIS TRUTH, AND THE LORD. SADLY, IT IS ONLY AFTER
YOU DIE AND YOU ARE SPENDING ALL ETERNITY IN HELL THAT YOU REALIZE HOW WRONG
YOU WERE. UNFORTUNATELY, AT THAT PONT IT IS TOO LATE!
I love you and care about you so much. Pray for Brian Flemming and Brian
“Sapient.” Flemming was actually raised in a solid Christian home and went
to a Christian school through high school. It was in college that he decided
to reject the faith, and slowly over time, began to allow satan to use him
to actively lead people away from Christ. Both of these men, like all men,
will die one day. At that moment they will stand before God their Creator,
the One who they have denied and mocked, and be cast into hell for all
eternity for their sins.
It is not God’s desire for any man to go to hell. As a matter of fact, the
Bible declares that it is God’s desire for ALL to come to repentance, that
none be lost. Hell was not created for man, but for satan and the fallen
angels who followed him. God has never sent one soul to hell. Those who end
up in hell are there because they choose to go there. How very sad when the
glories of Heaven are available for all who will simply humble themselves
and turn their hearts and lives to Jesus, the One who died for their sins.
Also, pray for our children and young adults. They are growing up in a world
where men now actually use the media to defy God, openly spit in His face
and without shame or conscience reject the love of Jesus Christ. The fact is
we ALL do that every time we sin. Most who sin feel guilt and shame and
sadness. Some men’s hearts are so hard, they plan their sin, video tape it,
and proudly broadcast it for others to see. This is the sick and evil world
we are living in in the year 2007!
Maybe now you can understand my passion each day to reach more people here
on the Internet, more people through our TV program on secular television.
As I tell you often, we are battling for the souls of men! Literally! Tools
of satan like these two Brians are using their time, effort, gifts, talents,
and energy to lead people into the eternal fires of hell. If people can so
faithfully serve satan, why can’t people be even more faithful in serving
Let me tell you how foolish these two Brians really are for serving satan.
Satan has no real power and is already defeated. What they are doing is
taking people who are simply looking to affirm their rejection of Christ’s
love. In reality, that is all they are doing. What we do literally 24/7/365
is take people who have been living without Christ in their hearts and
lives, and by the power of the Holy Sprit, helping them find everlasting
life through faith in Jesus Christ.
THE SUPERNATURAL ACT OF TAKING A HEART OF STONE AND TURING IT TO A HEART OF
FLESH, TAKING A SOUL BLACKENED BY SIN AND TURNING IT LILY WHITE, IS
SOMETHING ONLY GOD CAN PERFORM!!!
Rather than help the lost insure they are going to hell when they die
through things like the blasphemy challenge, let’s help them find
everlasting life through faith in Jesus Christ through the SALVATION

This is a codicil to How Not To Read The Bible: Misusing Judge Not James 5:9 In Order To Avoid Christian Responsibility. When it comes to rising up against Christians that are responsible for false doctrines, false teachings, and false movements in the church, we are often dissuaded by those who misapply Matthew 13:28-30, “He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” Sometimes this is done honestly by people who love God and have good intentions, other times it is quite the opposite. In either case, the result if this poor advice is heeded is the Will of God being delayed, and Satan succeeding in hindering the cause of righteousness for a short time.
The reason why this confusion exists and persists is a common one; people taking this verse out of context. They ignore what is said in Matthew 13:38 by Jesus Christ: “The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one.” So you see, dear well intentioned but misguided Christian, this verse does not apply to the church in any way, shape, form, or context. In the church settings that people misapply Matthew 13:28-30, one of the many much more appropriate verses is 1 Corinthians 8:1, which reads “Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend“, and those thereabout it. Why? Because in church settings the only offenses which should be suffered are those coming from your BROTHER, meaning your fellowservant in Christ. But if you go back to Matthew 13:38 which explains Matthew 13:28-30, you see that the parable is regarding THE WORLD, not THE CHURCH. And a closer inspection of Matthew 13:28-30 reveals that TARES ARE NOT YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST, YOUR FELLOWLABORERS OF THE GOSPEL AND SHARERS IN TRIBULATION. No, TARES ARE THE CHILDREN OF SATAN! They are the ones who called themselves Jews but Jesus Christ rebuked them in John 8:44, saying “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” Needless to say, we are NOT to deceive ourselves concerning allowing the children of Satan to tarry in the church! They are abominations, detestable before the sight of God, sowing endless strife and confusion, children of violence and destruction, and who corrupt and defile wherever they are present! They are not to be suffered, but rather should be driven out with all due haste!
To be truthful, children of Satan are not in the church anyway. The true church is composed of the body of believers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Though these children of Satan may believe upon the Name of Jesus Christ, though they may call upon the Name of Jesus Christ, though they may cast out demons and work great miracles using that Name, His Name is not theirs. Why? Because they are not His Sheep! They are the children of wrath, and their future is destruction; gnashing and weeping in outer darkness Matthew 7:21-23! Oh, woe unto them when these sinners fall into the hands of an angry God! Their feet shall slip in due time (borrowing from John Edwards here, and not the presidential candidate), and of theirs fate it can only be said that it would have been better had they never been born!
No, the church is not the world, children of God. What has happened is that we have allowed some of our gathering places to become synagogues of Satan as spoken of by Jesus Christ in Revelation 2:9 and Revelation 3:9 because we have allowed things and people in them that should never have ought to be due to our failure to be steadfast, bold, sincere, and faithful in contending earnestly for the faith. Now I am not castigating individual churches and church people for failing to be perfect, for only God is perfect and without sin. What I am instead speaking of are churches that have fallen into apostasy, the Christians that have allowed it to happen, and even after these places have fallen because of the failure to remove the seed of satan from the church rolls and fellowship, Christians continue to dwell in places that are dry because they have reached the condition of Ichabod: where God’s grace has departed. So, if there are tares in your CHURCH, and if there are tares among the group of people whom you gather around for Christian fellowship, then something has to move. In order for your own integrity to be retained, either they have to go, or you have to. But thinking that you can fraternize with spiritual garbage without getting a little bit of stink on yourself is total folly. Apply this to the natural world. You would not go spend a great sum of money on fine delicate clothing, take great care to dress yourself in that clothing and otherwise adorn yourself, and then go run through some junkyard, landfill, or toxic waste dump! Why? Because even if you avoid colliding with trash and refuse and soiling or tearing your clothing, your clothing will still acquire up the smell! So why do so many Christians take their spirits that have been washed white and clean with the Blood of the Lamb and go run amongst a jungle of TARES?
Christians, the true context of that parable was almost certainly in response to such vexing questions as why the wicked are allowed to continue to exist; why God does not just destroy wicked people immediately. Why it seems that many wicked people even get to enjoy the fruits of their wickedness all of their lives and then go to their graves happy and satisfied off the bones of the poor that they have ground to powder with their meanness and their exploitation. Such things are obviously hard for people to endure, especially when you consider that the audience was Jews living under the brutal subjugation of the wicked pagan Roman Empire. So, Jesus Christ was telling His followers that it was the Will of the Father to allow good and evil to continue on the earth until judgment, and for that reason not to let such things trouble you. This message was probably particularly aimed at the political radicals such as Christ’s own apostle Simon the Zealot who not only wanted Christ to be a political and military leader and overthrow the Roman Empire and punish them for their wickedness, but would even take matters into their own hands! The Zealots were called “dagger men”, because they carried small knives with them so that if they ever found the opportunity to assassinate a Roman official, they would avail themselves of it! So, when it came to earthly matters, this parable gave the same principle to people like Simon Zelotes that Jesus Christ told Simon Peter in Gethsemane: those who live by the sword shall die by the sword!
But oh, when it comes to spiritual matters, Jesus Christ did not apply that principle. Jesus Christ did not allow the wheat and the tares to grow together. No, those of you who misuse and abuse Matthew 13:28-30 know EXACTLY what Jesus Christ did. Our Saviour made Himself a whip of small cords, went inside the temple, and drove the evildoers out! Why? Because the temple was supposed to be a house of PRAYER and not a house of TARES. It is the responsibility of every believer, who compose the body of Christ on earth with Jesus Christ Himself sitting on the right hand of the Father as the Head, to go and do thou likewise Luke 10:37!

(Note: after you read this see part II: How Not To Read The Bible: When The Wheat And The Tares SHOULD NOT Grow Together)
f course, there are going to be times when honest Christians who love God and are dedicated to His Word will have sincere disagreements. Some of the things in the Bible are mysteries by design, and then you have competing Bible translations interpreted through different traditions and cultures. And I am fine with that. After all, if we were perfect and knew everything, why would we need God? What purpose would there be for faith? Still, there are certain undisputable foundational doctrines and principles on which Christianity is based. Because of the hardness of our hearts and rebellious nature, a great many consciously choose to reject them, and to follow after and fellowship with those who have rejected them. And when the error is brought to light, two common excuses are made. The first is “we should not judge.” That is true; the Bible says that only God can judge, and only God knows the content of a man’s heart. That principle was established with the woman caught in adultery brought before Jesus Christ. Though she sinned, she called Him Lord, and by virtue of her believing upon Him, she was eligible for 1 John 1:9, for God to be faithful and just to forgive her sins. Though her accusers were not caught in any transgression of the law, they could not benefit from 1 John 1:9 because they rejected the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the true nature of God when it was revealed to them. But though we cannot truly judge, let alone try to take corrective action inappropriately (see Romans 12:19) what we can do is apply a plain contextual interpretation of the Bible to people and situations. This should be done responsibly, honestly, and motivated by love for God, the body of Christ, and the accused transgressor, but make no mistake: it should be done. In these instances, you are not judging, but rather forthtelling; giving what the Bible says about people, actions, and situations, with the goal being to convict sin rather than to condemn sinners. Rather than seeking someone’s punishment or destruction, it is done to A) inform the transgressor of the error of his ways in order to give him a chance to change and B) to warn others from following after his path. The Bible is clear: if you see someone doing something to his own hurt and do not warn him and he falls, on judgment day his blood will be required at your hand. Ezekiel 3:20 says it explicitly: Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. It is repeated even more clearly in Ezekiel 33:6 and Ezekiel 33:8 : But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
So you see, acting in this manner is very serious. 1) You fail to correct your brother when he is wrong and allow him to continue in sin. 2) You fail to inform others who would emulate him of sinful behavior and enable their sin. 3) God will hold you personally accountable for those you allow to be destroyed through 1) and 2). 4) You are committing blasphemy. How? Blasphemy is dishonoring or disrespecting God and/or using in vain (i.e. misusing) His Name. Well, the Bible is the Word of God, and Jesus Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1-14). So, when you use the Bible in contradiction and opposition to itself, against its actual intent, purpose and meaning, you blaspheme. Continual misuse and abuse of the Word of God in order to justify error will result in a Christian – or even someone who has come into knowledge of Truth but rejected it – becoming reprobate. Christianity is not a game, and it is not recreation or a diversion. It is 100% serious with the eternal fates of not only ourselves but all of mankind at stake before a God that is so holy and righteous that He cannot even look upon sin, and we need to act accordingly. It is not as if we have not been warned.
Now, you might say, “What if I am not sure? What if the Bible or my understanding of it is conflicting, contradictory, or incomplete? What if I am not in possession of all the facts; of mitigating circumstances?” First of all, pray and seek God’s Holy Spirit for guidance. (As a matter of fact, you should do that anyway with all things!) But in those instances, yes, it is a good thing to fear the Lord and not risk bringing a false accusation against someone (or even making a correct accusation in the wrong spirit; a railing or angry accusation) and holding your peace. Trust God, and when the Holy Spirit moves you to speak in such a matter, speak only according to what the Holy Spirit puts in your mouth. Otherwise, it is actually wise to hold your tongue. It is best to speak in situations where you have to do virtually no “editorializing”, when you are able to let the person’s actions speak for themselves. Just report what they did and supply the relevant scripture. If anyone objects, what will they be objecting to? If they have a problem with the actions of the person they should take it up with the person, and if they have a problem with the scripture then that is between them and God. Either way, if you have acted according to righteousness, sound judgment, and discretion (which the Bible commands even when God uses you to correct someone) then you are blameless before both God and men.
Ultimately, we must concede that there is a great bit of hypocrisy regarding this issue. When it is a matter after the flesh, we have no problem “judging.” If you witness someone robbing, raping, or killing someone else, you would have no problem telling the police, the news media, your friends and neighbors, even total strangers what you saw. You may even intervene to prevent the wrong! No one references James 5:9 if they see a man with a knife attempting to cut the throat of an innocent pregnant woman! No, you would rise up to try to prevent such an atrocity from taking place, and if intervention is unsuccessful you would advocate for that criminal to be tried to the fullest extent of the law, and you would castigate any scenario in which he goes unpunished, especially if he is a threat to victimize someone else! So then, why are we so fearful when it comes to doing the same regarding spiritual things? The reason is because we can SEE the natural things of the flesh. You can SEE a man cutting a woman’s throat. But spiritual things, such as the effects that false doctrine has on people spiritually, you cannot see. Well, let me inform you: where a criminal with a knife has the ability to end the temporary life of a person in this world, a false preacher or teacher can contribute to hundreds, even thousands departing from the narrow path and the strait gate to their destruction for eternity! You will rise up against those wielding knives and guns in the natural world, but cower behind misinterpreted scripture when it comes to people using nuclear bombs and other weapons of mass destruction in the spiritual one. That, fellow servants of Christ, is not the way of God, and is not what He called us to do.

Here is a delightful story of a medically and media – documented example of faith – healing. And no, it is not some low income redneck from the south (although if it were, I wound’t mind, because I have had the pleasure of knowing many people who are and were low income southern rednecks, and a great many of them are some of the finest Christians that God will bless you by having them cross your path), but a violinist of Chinese descent from New Zealand.
Now there are many examples of medically confirmable faith healings (including my own!) but we know why the media and Hollywood ignores them and claims that they are frauds: they hate Jesus Christ and Christians! (Of course, this is a generalization.) But why aren’t CHRISTIANS forcing the issue, by coming forward and openly declaring their own testimonies, and thereby forcing the public to acknowledge it, so that people will believe and be saved? After all, that is what Jesus Christ did, and what his disciples and apostles did also. The most powerful examples given in the New Testament was when the Jewish leaders WANTED to imprison or stone the disciples, but could not because it was commonly known and verified that certain people had been blind, deaf, leprous, or lame previous, but now they were undeniably healed! But now, things have gotten so bad that not only is it easy for the world to deny faith healings (there is even a “Why won’t God heal amputees” website run by militant atheists) but a lot of Christians either do not believe in them anymore or will not admit to it. There are even some major Christian denominations that purport to be “fundamentalist” or “Biblical literalist” that teach that healings and other miracles no longer happen anymore because they are no longer needed, as their only purpose was to cause people to believe so that the church could be firmly established; that the “apostolic age” has passed. To their credit, these people to at least acknowledge that God will grant miracles in third world countries and other places where the church is being established for the first time, but that is it.
The main fault of this is the people who receive the miracles themselves, myself included! In the “apostolic times”, people who were healed went around telling and showing everyone their testimony! Many even did so even after Jesus Christ commanded that they not! But these days, people who receive healings either keep quiet about it, or only tell others within the Christian community. And I have to admit even with myself, it was over a year before I was able to so much as even tell people at my workplace how God healed me. Why? Because we fear persecution and ridicule; people laughing at us and shunning us and labeling us liars and crackpots. We fear being challenged by not only atheists, but Christians with hardened hearts. We don’t want to answer the question: “How come God healed you and doesn’t heal other people?” It isn’t because we don’t know the answer: because of either a lack of faith or because it was not God’s Will. It is because we fear the responses and how we will be viewed for answering truthfully! In other words, like Saul we love the people and the world more than God, and like so many people who believed Jesus Christ and his apostles but never followed them, they fear persecution and disassociation, including the very parents of the man born blind who would not even speak before the Jewish council because they feared being excommunicated from the synagogue. How many people never come to Christ because of faith increased by the power of our testimony because of our selfishness, worldliness, pride, and cowardice? By the way, you know that all of those are EVIL SPIRITS, don’t you? And even among Christians, how many of them are never healed from painful and serious conditions that threaten their lives, families, finances, livelihoods, and FAITH because they are not strengthened with the knowledge that they, too, can be healed just like us?
But wait: there’s more! The church system is at fault too. All too often, if you want to be healed, you have to go to the preacher, who prays for God to heal you in the safe confines of his church surrounded by his congregation away from the mockers and disbelievers. We don’t even have the old traveling tent revivals where people would come and be healed and have demons cast out of them like we used to! Why? Because it is not so much that we fear persecution, but we lack faith and are unsure of the gospel. We fear what will happen if we go out on the street, pray for someone to rise up and walk, and he doesn’t, and everyone laughs at us and accuses our faith. What will happen to the faith of everyone else? What will happen to OUR FAITH? In other words, we are not certain enough in our faith to put it on the line.
For that reason, modern Christianity is a lot like when Jesus Christ tried to carry his ministry into his own hometown: few great works are being done because of their unbelief. And even there, consider that it said “save His laying hands on a few sick folk and healed them.” Realize that it was listed in that fashion because it was considered to be no big thing; it was taken for granted! So what mighty things did Jesus Christ work elsewhere? And remember, Jesus Christ admonished us that when the Holy Spirit comes and indwells (because remember that Jesus Christ though being God in the flesh was operating as a prophet under the restraints of the law of condemnation and the old covenant), that we would do even greater things than He! Well now in our current age, we are not even doing the things that the gospels so took for granted that they barely saw fit to mention them, and moreover when things that the gospels took for granted happened to us today, we fear talking about them because of the small measure of our own faith AND our love for God! It is as if we are spitting on the cross and trashing the Holy Spirit. No, I am serious, much debate has taking place over the meaning of the term “blaspheming the Holy Spirit”, but I would contend that refusing to do the works that the Holy Spirit wants to use you to do and withholding testimony of what the Holy Spirit has already done would have to point to that direction. Are you in danger of being condemned according to this area as I was until very recently? If so, you had better do something about it.
