“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth”. Acts 1:8

“..on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy”

As God’s Word does not return unto Him void, proofs of His Power upon female witnesses who have gone to the uttermost parts of the earth, who not only “taught” men, but “made men disciples of our Lord” while they spoke as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Mary Slessor, without human ordination, title or recognition went into the interior of Africa at a time when men white or black dared not venture. She was warned by African Chiefs, not just her mission board, that this is extremely dangerous territory that warriors themselves won’t go into, and that no one could protect her or come to her aid.

With the call of God, Mary went into the interior of Africa. God used Mary to put an end to twin killings (babies), and gruesome and cruel wars between savage tribes.

I read the book to my family “Mary Slessor” from the Christian Heroes Then and Now series quite a few years ago, and though it’s an excellent book, my memory of all God’s exploits through this woman is not that good, so I will just quote from “The 39 years Mary spent with the people of different regions of Calabar were filled with excitement, disappointment, horror and joy. Even though she was only 5 ft tall, she stood up to many warriors, chiefs, witch doctors, and murderers. Her adventures varied from healing hundreds of people (including Chiefs), rescuing prisoners and/or slaves, and wives from being murdered, saving and caring for countless children and babies, witnessing to the most frightening tribes, settling many disputes between tribes and neighbors, assisting chiefs in their decisions for their tribes, and sometimes just looking a tribal person in the face and telling them about the love of God”.

Without a title or man’s ordination, Mary went into a region gripped with terror and oppression with the Gospel,… men were taught, set free, and discipled. God used Mary to “feed His sheep”.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:10-12

I believe Jewel Grewe (whom you reference) is a female pastor.
