Sarah Palin’s Corporate Welfare Proposal For Gigantic Natural Gas Pipeline

Posted by Job on August 29, 2008

As one who recognizes that we would never have nuclear power or much of anything else in our modern lifestyle were it not for government (or government funded) research, I have little principled opposition to this. Instead, I just find it odd how global economic interests keep popping up with people running for the White House. In this case, soon to be vice president Sarah Palin tried to give $500 million to a CANADIAN company to build a natural gas pipeline through her state. Another story on this called the pipeline project the biggest public works project in the history of this country!

This is a pretty good indication that Palin is cut from the same cloth as Bush, Bush II, Clinton, and Reagan in being willing to transfer our tax dollars and natural resources and control thereof into the hands of the global economic and political conglomerates. As a matter of fact, this article compares her with Hugo Chavez

Now connect the dots here. There is this big push to get us off oil though we have enough proven oil reserves to last for at least the next 70 years. What are they trying to get us to transfer to? Natural gas in our cars. So here pops up this T. Boone Pickens fellow to run ads from now to November “from his own money” to promote windmills to create electricity instead of natural gas so that we can instead start putting the natural gas in cars. Why? To reduce our dependency on foreign oil. When we have PLENTY of our own oil!?!? And so the future vice president cut this deal to provide this huge conduit for natural gas through her state that will be of great strategic importance. But instead of paying $650 million to help an AMERICAN company do it, she pays $500 million to help a CANADIAN company do it? Will the CANADIANS have a stake, a controlling interest, in this pipeline as well? If so, this sounds very “North American Union” ish to you, doesn’t it? (See this story by a CANADIAN paper titled North American union warrants discussion) I suppose that the social conservatives and evangelical Christians that so in love with McCain over his Rick Warren performance and picking a woman with five kids are ready to start spending their ameros?

Well you evangelicals, you might want to reconsider. The economic and political union of Canada would mean our assimilating certain points of Canadian law. Well, right now, Christians are being sued and thrown in jail in Canada for stating that homosexuality is a sin and Islam is false. Evangelicals, do not think that Palin will have your side, because she supports gay rights. This article states: Although she’s a social conservative who opposes abortion and gay marriage, Palin signed into law a state bill giving benefits to same-sex couples. Since social conservatives supported the 100% pro homosexual George W. Bush administration, that should be changed from “although she is a social conservative” to BECAUSE she’s a social conservative. Seriously, homosexuals have advanced further in the GOP than blacks have.

So, evangelical Christians fattening frogs for the anti – Christ snake by rushing to support this Palin woman (I heard the folks on Christian talk radio embracing her already … one fellow called in to say that Obama is not a true Christian, while that is factually accurate the context should be AS IF THE BACKSTABBING LYING CHEAT MCCAIN IS!?!?), do not think that she will advocate you when in order to conform to the global consensus it becomes illegal to repeat what the Bible says about homosexuality or about law and order (the illegal immigrant invasion from Mexico) or about economic justice. Nope, she and her boss McCain will turn the lot of you in and sell you out just as quickly as Obama will.

Christians, I recall a former Republican state representative hosting a Christian radio political show; the fellow was betrayed and turned out of office by his party mates for standing up to and exposing the wickedness of his party (including their clear collusion with the other side). The fellow stated that he believes that the new world order globalists really don’t care which party wins the White House … so long as they get to pick the nominees. The people who control the media and the purse strings made sure that the nominees would be limited to people like Clinton, Romney, McCain, and Obama. After that field was set, they just sat back and watched the show as if it were a professional wrestling match or football game. I suppose that it was compelling and entertaining in an odd sort of way, to see the pathetic spectacle of people falling over themselves, selling their bodies and souls for a title and a little bit of power. But since Judas Iscariot sold God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, for a few pieces of silver why should be surprised at what man will do in his totally depraved state?

But what is surprising and sad is how so many people with the title “Bible – believing born again Christians” are like Saul when they are consenting to this madness. I go back to the scene of Stephen’s stoning in Acts. The narrative never stated that Saul himself threw a stone. It merely said that Saul was consenting to the death of Stephen. So, while these evangelical Christians are not going to be committing the evil acts of McCain, Biden, Palin, or Obama, they will be consenting to it with their votes and other measures of support. That is why we must intercede, people. We must intercede with our prayers. We must intercede with our works. We must intercede with our words. We must intercede with our love. We must stop our born again Christian brothers and sisters from furthering the anti – Christ agenda with their actions and hearts.

Christianity was indeed born in the Roman Empire. Paul, the very same one that consented to the death of the first Christian martyr, acting as Christianity’s first systematic theologian did tell us to submit to proper authorities in Romans 13. But Christians in the early church refrained from burning incense to Caesar even under the pain of torture and death! Let us pray that people such as the ones below open their eyes to the wickedness that is going on and stop rooting for it. I am of the opinion that choosing sides between Obama and McCain and supporting one or the other is the same as deciding which director, movie, or actor to support in the awards ceremony that they have for the pornographic movie industry and then going out and buying whatever movie wins. How ironic that the very Christians that would never go near the “best adult movie” award winner are going to gladly willingly go pull the the lever for people whose hearts (with their words and works as evidence thereof) are just as wicked in November. And yes, this applies to you Christians planning on supporting idolator in chief anti – Christ superstar wannabe Barack HUSSEIN Obama as well.

Wow! Palin is great! I just became a McCain supporter!

Update: turns out that the fight between Georgia and Russia where we so quickly intervened because of our commitment to human rights, freedom, and humanitarianism (yeah right) was actually over control of a huge NATURAL GAS pipeline. So Russia (and Georgia) knows what is up even if our own citizens, including Christians that are supposed to be discerning of the times, are clueless.

Pastor Bike Zhang Mingxuan Arrested In China!

Posted by Job on August 24, 2008

Pastor Zhang “Bike” Mingxuan, known for traveling across China on a bicycle to evangelize, was arrested by Chinese police just two days before the Olympics began. Pastor Bike was the inspiration for the recent partnership between The Voice of the Martyrs and China Aid Association to create the Olympic Prayer Band.

Learn More about the Olympic Prayer Band here

Pastor Asks for Prayer Band
Earlier this year, Pastor Bike pleaded with VOM staff to ask Christians to pray for persecuted Christians in China during the Olympics. The pastor voluntarily preaches the gospel openly in China despite being persecuted. He has asked for his identity to be revealed to bring continued attention to the persecution of Christians in Communist China.

Thanks to Pastor Bike’s inspiration and the commitment of concerned Christians across the United States, more than 800,000 prayer bands have been circulated. On Aug. 6, Pastor Bike was arrested while trying to deliver medicine to his ailing wife. His wife and another pastor were also arrested. We have also learned this week that Chinese officials are opening a full investigation of the Olympic Prayer Bands that were distributed to house church members within China. Despite this increased pressure from Chinese authorities, Chinese Christians continue to ask for prayer and to make their plight known.

More about Pastor Bike

Pastor Bike, president of the Chinese House Church Alliance, rode his bike more than 10,000 miles, visiting 24 Chinese provinces to introduce nonbelievers to Jesus Christ. Armed with a Bible and his business card, which declared “Believe in Jesus, Earn Eternal Life,” Pastor Bike brought the gospel to thousands of people. He and other Chinese evangelists have been repeatedly harassed by Chinese officials during this Olympic year. Please pray for the release of Pastor Bike and his wife.

 House Res. 33:
Recognizing the thousands of Freemasons
in every State in the Nation and honoring them for
their many contributions to the Nation throughout its history.

U.S. Representative and Brother Paul Gillmor submitted House Resolution 33 on January 5, 2007 to the 110th U.S. Congress. It was referred to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. This resolution is the second such resolution submitted to Congress. It was submitted by Congressmen Gillmor in the last session of Congress, and also made its way to the House Committee on Government Reform. For the draft to make it to the house floor, it requires 50 co-sponsors. Last time, it only received 21 sponsors.

Congressman Paul Gillmor is currently serving in his tenth term representing the Fifth Congressional District of Ohio. His district of 16 counties is the second largest district in Ohio and is actually larger than the States of Rhode Island, Delaware, Connecticut or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. He serves on one of the most powerful committees in Congress, the Financial Services Committee where he is the top Republican on the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit. Bro. Gillmor was also unanimously elected in 2006 by representatives of the 26 NATO countries to serves as Vice President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

Prior to his election to Congress, Gillmor served in the Ohio Senate for twenty-two years.  As a State Senator, he was unanimously elected Republican leader five times, and served as President of the Senate for three General Assemblies.  Paul is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and the University of Michigan Law School.  He attained the rank of Captain while on active duty as an Air Force Judge Advocate during the Vietnam Conflict. At home in Tiffin, Ohio, Paul is married to former Ohio State Senator Karen Gillmor and has two daughters, Linda and Julie, and three sons, Paul Michael, and twins Connor and Adam.

 The resolution reads:

RESOLUTION

Recognizing the thousands of Freemasons in every State in the Nation and honoring them for their many contributions to the Nation throughout its history.

Whereas Freemasons, whose long lineage extends back to before the Nation’s founding, have set an example of high moral standards and charity for all people;

Whereas the Founding Fathers of this great Nation and signers of the Constitution, most of whom were Freemasons, provided a well-rounded basis for developing themselves and others into valuable citizens of the United States;

Whereas members of the Masonic Fraternity, both individually and as an organization, continue to make invaluable charitable contributions of service to the United States;

Whereas the Masonic Fraternity continues to provide for the charitable relief and education of the citizens of the United States;

Whereas the Masonic Fraternity is deserving of formal recognition of their long history of care-giving for the citizenry and their example of high moral standards; and

Whereas Freemasons have always revered and celebrated St. John’s Day, June 24th, as dedicated to their patron saints: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the House of Representatives recognizes the thousands of Freemasons in every State in the Nation and honors them for their many contributions to the Nation throughout its history.

Man Murders Step-Daughters in Satanic Ritual!

Court documents claim man killed step-daughters in Satanic ritual

Man Accused of Killing Step-Daughters Appears in Court

A Sioux City man accused of killing his two step-daughters was in Woodbury County Court Wednesday for a hearing.

The defense requested Larry Harris‘ trial to be moved because of pretrail publicity. They’re also asking that the Satanic Bible not be emphasized during the trial. After the incident, Harris told Sioux City Police he had been “casting a spell that went bad.”

Harris’ attorneys say spells and witchcraft don’t necessarily equal satanism. In an affidavit presented by the defense, the High Priest of the Church of Satan says the crimes that Harris is accused of are in no way consistent with the teachings, beliefs or practices of his church.

It should be noted that witches do no believe in Satan. Witchcraft is often erroneously confused with Satanism. However, Witches and Wiccans do not believe that Satan exists, and thus they do not worship him.

Documents claim slayings were satanic

SIOUX CITY — Recent court filings shed new and disturbing light on what prosecutors and police call the ritual slaying of two girls in Sioux City. It’s information defense lawyers don’t want a jury to hear.

Prosecutors say 26-year-old Lawrence Douglas Harris Sr., who faces two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing his 8- and 10-year-old stepdaughters in January, was practicing satanism and carefully planned the killings as a part of a spell or ritual from “The Satanic Bible.” Harris owned a spell notebook, prosecutors say, that contained references to and drawings from “The Satanic Bible,” widely considered the founding document of the Church of Satan, “Necronomicom,” the so-called dangerous book of the dead invented by author H.P. Lovecraft and “Pagan Ways,” an introduction to Paganism.

Passages from “The Satanic Bible,” prosecutors say, are consistent with the injuries and cause of death of the two children.

Harris’ defense team, however, wants to stop prosecutors from referring to Satanism, the Church of Satan or the terms satanic, wiccan and paganism. Assistant public defenders Michael Williams and Bryan Goodman, in an Aug. 1 filing in district court, argue those terms aren’t relevant and could prejudice jurors.

“The prejudice against the religions and organizations is culled instantly by the names themselves,” defense attorneys wrote.

Assistant Woodbury County Attorney Mark Campbell filed a response a few days later saying the presentation of that evidence is critical to the state’s case against Harris and could prove he wasn’t insane at the time of the killings.
[…]

The Woodbury County Attorney’s Office says in a response filed Aug. 7 that the evidence is necessary, alleging Harris was performing a spell or ritual from “The Satanic Bible” when the girls died.

They evidence of Harris’s belief in these texts is proof he wasn’t mentally ill or committing a psychotic act, but was conducting a spell or ritual.

“Passages from ‘The Satanic Bible’ are relevant evidence regarding the fact that it was the defendant who killed the children, since the killings appear to have been part of a ritual the defendant had planned,” prosecutors wrote.

Firefighters found the girls, 10-year-old Kendra Suing and 8-year-old Alysha Suing, stabbed and strangled in their bedrooms on Jan. 6. Authorities had been dispatched to the house at 1420 Nebraska St. for a fire in the basement.

Harris pleaded not guilty and has been incarcerated since his arrest. He currently is being held at the Woodbury County Jail in lieu of a $1 million bond.

Shortly after the girls’ deaths, police said Harris told them they had died during a spell that “had gone bad.”

According to the motion filed by prosecutors, one of the last spells in Harris’ spellbook was a from a chapter in “The Satanic Bible,” the Invocation Employed Toward the Conjuration of Destruction. In that two-page chapter, the invocation mentions slashing the victim and “rend that gaggling tongue and close his (her) throat, Oh Kali!”

Prosecutors say the girls’ injuries were consistent with writings contained in that chapter. They also say Harris told police he was possessed by Kali at the time of the killings.

Kali, the Hindu goddess of time and change, is often associated in popular culture with death and destruction. Images of the goddess often feature a garland of human heads.

Although “The Satanic Bible” has a chapter called One the Choice of Human Sacrifice, the book specifically prohibits killing children. Human sacrifices are to be made in the indirect sense, it says, through a curse or hex that “leads to the physical, mental or emotional destruction of the ’sacrifice’ in ways and means not attributable to the magician.”

Those worthy of being sacrificed, the book says, are those who have unjustly wronged, hurt or made trouble for the satanist: “In short, a person asking to be cursed by their very actions.”
[…]

In addition to not being relevant to proving the prosecutors’ case against Harris, his defense attorneys wrote that not only would using words like Satanism and the other religious names unfairly influence the jury, but it could affect its view of relevant evidence.
[…]

Defense attorneys also wrote that they want to ban use of satanic words or references, because they believe prosecutors also plan to use that evidence to suggest Harris was affiliated with the Church of Satan and is an evil person for that reason.
[…]

The trial … is now scheduled for Oct. 14.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer versus Jesus Christ: Wicca Glorification In Media Reducing Female Church Attendance!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer slaying church attendance among women, study claims

Religion News Blog, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Aug. 23, 2008 News Summary
www.religionnewsblog.com

Buffy the Vampire Slayer slaying church attendance among women, study claims The old-fashioned attitudes and hierarchies of churches are causing a steep decline in the number of female worshippers, according to an academic study.

The report claims more than 50,000 women a year have deserted their congregations over the past two decades because they feel the church is not relevant to their lives.

It says that instead young women are becoming attracted to the pagan religion Wicca, where females play a central role, which has grown in popularity after being featured positively in films, TV shows and books.

The study comes amid ongoing controversy over the role of women in all Christian denominations. Last month its governing body voted to allow women to become bishops for the first time, having admitted them to the priesthood in 1994, but traditionalist bishops have warned that hundreds of clergy and parishes will leave if the move goes ahead as planned.

The report’s author, Dr Kristin Aune, a sociologist at the University of Derby, said: “In short, women are abandoning the church.

“Because of its focus on female empowerment, young women are attracted by Wicca, popularised by the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

“Young women tend to express egalitarian values and dislike the traditionalism and hierarchies they imagine are integral to the church.

“Women’s ordination, as priests and now bishops, has dominated debate and headlines – but while looking at women in the pulpit we have taken our eyes off the pews, where a shift with more consequences for the church’s survival is underway.”

Her research, published in a new book called Women and Religion in the West, cites an English Church Census which found more than a million women worshippers have left churches since 1989.

Over the past decade, it claims, women have been leaving churches at twice the rate of men.

In addition, the census is said to show that teenage boys now outnumber girls in the pews for the first time.

Dr Aune says the church must adapt to the needs of modern women if it is to stop them leaving in their droves.

She believes many women have been put off going to church in recent years because of the influence of feminism, which challenged the traditional Christian view of women’s roles and raised their aspirations.

Her report claims they feel forced out of the church because of its “silence” about sexual desire and activity, and because of its hostility to single-parent families and unmarried couples which are now a reality for many women.

But it also says changes in women’s working lives, with many more now pursuing careers as well as raising children, mean they have less time to attend church.

Faith Alone’s We Believe In Sanctification Series

Posted by Job on August 24, 2008

“We know that the Roman Catholics teach that we are saved by faith plus works. Lordship Salvation teaches that we are saved by faith that works. But do not both definitions include works as a condition necessary for faith to be valid, for faith to be effectual? Either way, works are a necessary condition of eternal salvation.

But I have a problem with that. It confuses justification with sanctification. Justification as the forensic legal declaration that we are righteous in our position before God, is confused with sanctification, the outworking of that righteousness in everyday practical living. Now we know that justification and sanctification are related. But we also must keep them distinct lest we confuse the Gospel itself and undo the Reformation. If we make works a necessary condition of salvation, we contradict the words of Rom 4:4-5, “Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.” The apostle Paul is teaching us that faith does not mix with works in any way. Just as you cannot mix oil with water, faith is opposed to works for salvation.”  taken from http://www.faithalone.org/journal/1999i/J22-99b.htm

Calvin On Sanctification: A Brief

Posted by Job on August 24, 2008

A curious fact about Martin Luther is that for all the attention that he gave to salvation, he is regarded as having paid very little to sanctification by comparison. Calvin, on the other hand, is regarded to having given sanctification a fair amount of treatment. So, here are a couple of weblog entries by Christians that discuss Calvin’s views on sanctification. May this information edify and benefit you.

Calvin on Regeneration and Sanctification

I’m about 800 pages into Calvin’s Institutes (which is why I haven’t been blogging much lately). Previously, I’d read a bunch of it here and there, but most of my understanding of Calvin had been mediated through later Reformed writers. Consequently, I had wrongly assumed that Calvin was consistent with the contemporary evangelical/Reformed distinction between regeneration and sanctification (regeneration denoting the initial moment of renewal, and sanctification denoting the subsequent process of renewal). Not so. Calvin addresses the topic of repentance under the rubric of regeneration, talking of them as though they are virtual synonyms. Further, he does not see regeneration/repentance as limited to the beginning of the Christian life, but rather extends this work of God to the duration of earthly life. He writes,

Therefore, in a word, I interpret repentance as regeneration, whose sole end is to restore in us the image of God . . . And indeed this restoration does not take place in one moment or one day or one year; but through continual and even slow advances God wipes out in his elect the corruption of the flesh . . . In order to reach this goal, God assigns to them a race of repentance, which they are to run throughout their lives(601-02).

I like Calvin on this, and find him more consistent with Pauline/NT semantics. While the theological labels of regeneration and sanctification have (I suppose) been useful in delineating between the initial and subsequent work of God in the believer’s life, they have allowed for certain traditions to bifurcate regeneration and sanctification and then argue that salvation consists surely of the former but not necessarily the latter. This is common in Free Grace theology, and I’m sure one can find variations of it in most traditions. But Calvin’s doctrine of regeneration does not allow for this. For Calvin, to be regenerated is to be renewed into the image of God throughout the duration of one’s life–to run a lifelong race of repentance. No lasting fruit, no connection to the root.

While Tonex Is Apostate The Wife That He Discarded Is Fighting The Good Fight!

Posted by Job on August 23, 2008

Another update from Gay Christian Movement Watch. Please note that we are seeing more and more of the evil of the evangelical religious right hero Ronald Reagan. First, the fellow signs into law the nation’s most liberal abortion measure BEFORE Roe v. Wade. Then, he appoints a bunch of socially liberal judges to the California bench, and does the same with the federal and Supreme Courts. Then, I find out that the fellow was nothing but a mole for the Vatican, implementing their agenda in the United States. Part of that agenda was the amnesty for illegal immigrants program, and increasing globalization. And now, it comes that he signs a no – fault divorce law in California, helping set the stage for the gay rights movement today (high divorce rates among heterosexuals has been one of the most effective rhetorical devices for gay rights activists). And not only was his wife a necromancer, but he himself participated in some of her “psychic readings.” And no, Reagan did not propose a law OR push an executive order to stop federal dollars from going to Planned Parenthood either. Nor did he lift a finger to help Operation Rescue as the media, courts, and politicians were destroying it. My goodness, if Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, or any other Democrat had done one tenth of this wickedness these same religious right phonies would be shouting it from the rooftoops! It is past time that Christians start challenging our brothers and sisters, pastors and leaders over their continued affection for Reagan.

Ex-wife of Tonex: gay marriage part of satan’s agenda

Very interesting article written by Yvette (Graham) Williams (pictured at left with Tonex in 2002), the former Mrs. Tonex. Yvette was divorced from Tonex in 2005 and has since focused on recovering and speaking out against divorce. This is an excerpt from a larger article entitled “Satan’s agenda exposed.”   Although the article uses strong language to rebuke divorce among God’s people, Williams highlights the proliferation of homosexual marriage as an example of what we can expect as continue to lower the standards and disobey God’s Word.  It is reflects the same syllogism of Romans 1. The peice was written in late 2007, but is very insightful and sound, especially in light of her former husband’s now growing embrace of homosexuality and the gay christian movement.

Satan’s next move was covered under the cloth of equal rights and privileges for homosexuals.  He wanted the stage appropriate set homosexuality’s place of prominence and in an effort to garner acceptance by voluntary action or by force, coalitions of gays and lesbians began rallying for equal rights to live as they chose and have the laws of America say so.  I am not going into great details on how they’ve maneuvered their way in to prominence through coalition building and joining their voices to gain attention from political powers, you can research this on your own.  What I will say is their collective initiatives and Babel-like intention to build their tower of strength has become the foundation from which they stand on major platforms and demand political attention including the legal rights to live as they please and have the same benefits as those of heterosexuals.  So, as you can see, Satan is patient but persistent in waging his war against marriage as we know God intended!

Let’s look at the pawns he uses next in his ploy to overthrown heterosexual marriages: celebrities and other people of renown.  Satan knows the power of media and celebrity. He is the master of imagery, and understanding human nature and the psyche of people, he knows men and woman of all ages are intrinsically influenced by the media and what popular people are wearing, saying and doing.  Whether we believe it or not, media influences the way people live and the decisions they make, and unless each of us takes care to pay attention to our thoughts and intentions, we too walk that fine line of crossing over into living our lives in accordance with the ways of television’s elite; this includes the lifestyles of politicians, sports personalities, actors, musicians and singers who are constantly seen in front of the camera.

Having celebrities come out the closet and pronounce their lifestyle brings more attention to Satan’s idea of garnering equal rights and privileges and ultimately the right for same-sex couples to marry.  In an article titled Lesbian Life, from online website About.com, it listed women from politicians to sports persons, television personalities, etc., who have announced they are lesbian to the world.  Ellen DeGeneres (actor/talk show host) came out in 1996 just after playing a lesbian role on TV, she was promoted to now have her own talk show, Rosie O’Donnell (actor/talk show host) came out in part to help fight for the rights of gay and lesbian partners, Melissa Etheridge (singer) came out in 1993 at the Presidential Inauguration, Nelly Furtado (singer) came out as bisexual and wants her own gay pride parade, Colonel Margarethe Cammermeyer is the highest ranking military official to come out while in the service and there are many others.  On this same website, an article, The Hottest Gay Celebrities listed men who have come out of the closet, including Randy Harrison (actor) who played a gay coming of age role in the movie “Queer as Folk”, Kyan Douglas (grooming guru) of the popular TV show, “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”, Nate Berkus (decorator), often seen and has the stamp of approval from Oprah and his segment, on Oprah’s Decorate With Nate, and others.  These celebrity television appearances and coming out of the closet moments have proven positive motivation for towards the enemy’s ultimate goal and to the dismay of the Body of Christ, but what’s more palatable to his appetite is the parade of failed heterosexual marriages.  He just sinks his teeth into showcasing the fact that heterosexual marriages aren’t working so why not give same-sex marriages a go.”

As Christians, we know the scripture backwards and forward that says the devil is crafty and cunning and goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.  We know that he is subtle and is a seducer of the feebleminded, simple and those who are not on guard against his wiles.  As the Body of Christ, I see his agenda is to destroy what God calls honorable; marriage!  He said in his sight marriage is honorable and the bed undefiled.  Satan is anti-God and any God-institution established.  That being the case, I wonder why aren’t we more vigilant in fighting for the family, for marriages and to retain a voice of reason in the world.  We have spent enough time fighting over doctrines, over women wearing make-up and pants in the church pews and over denominational differences.  If the common denominator is Jesus Christ that should be enough for the whole body to come together and put its strengths and focus where needed.  I suggest we focus on restoration of the sacredness of marriage between a man and a woman because clearly the enemy is out to establish marriage between same sexes and (forgive my Ebonics) that ain’t right!

Satan wants marriage as we know it today, between a man and a woman to be done away with or at best have same-sex marriage as viable option.  He wants to introduce as a way of life, same-sex marriages to go along side of God’s institution and he has carefully marked out his plans for seeing his agenda rise above God’s order.  You ask how, I’ll give you some things to consider how he has carefully mapped out his strategy and how we have been either oblivious to it or avoided it as an option altogether, after all, God would never let that happen.  Satan is brilliant…He has taken the opportunity to stage his fight carefully, first with making divorce easier to come by whereby weakening the institution of marriage itself.  His next move, disguised under the mask of prejudice and the need for acceptance of all races and lifestyles, he’d introduce the need to make homosexuality legal and from there popularize homosexuality as the “in thing” by encouraging people to “come out the closet” in public and the next major blow he imagined was maximizing the media attention on divorces of heterosexual greats.

In 1953 Oklahoma became the first state to introduce ‘no-fault divorce’, and in 1970 then-Governor Ronald Reagan signed no-fault divorce into law in California; from there most other states followed suit.  Here’s some interesting information about California’s no-fault law.  It was drafted by Assemblyman, James Hayes.  According to Judy Parejko, author of Stolen Vows: The Illusion of No-Fault Divorce and the Rise of the American Divorce Industry, Assemblyman Hayes “was responsible for doggedly pursuing [the no-fault divorce] bill because he was facing a divorce and he didn’t like the rules at the time.  Today we’d call the conflict of interest but clearly, his agenda was to change the rules to benefit his personal dilemma.  It became too easy for people to walk away from their marriages with no grounds other than they no longer wanted the marriage.  With this law coming into play, Satan had the foot hole he so desperately needed to etch his way in to make his next move.

According to The Journal of Marriage and the Family, the divorce rate soared by 250% over a twenty-year period from 1960 to 1980 and I believe the implications for this increase was the passing of the ‘no fault divorce’ law in almost all of the united states of America.

He just sinks his teeth into showcasing the fact that heterosexual marriages aren’t working so why not give same-sex marriages a go.

Clearly, Satan has reared his ugly head again with the very public demise of two powerful marriages in Christendom.  Thursday, August 23, 2007, Randy and Paula White announced to their approximately 23,000 member church their plan to divorce.  Citing no third parties on either side that resulted in their collective decision, they explained that they’ve just grown apart and thus the reason they are divorcing.  Friday, September 7, 2007, Juanita Bynum announces she filed for divorce from her husband of five years after an alleged brutal attack by her estranged husband, Bishop Thomas Weeks III on the night of August 23rd.  Bynum and Weeks were noted to have been separated for 3 months prior to this event. Both couples have great ministries, with followers of every race, age and denomination attending their churches and conferences.

Both of these couples are renowned in both Christendom and in the secular world for what they say, do and preach.  They are public figures seen on television and heard over the radio and how they live their lives directly affects their followers and the secular world watching them.  How their marriages have ended is a target for proponents of same sex marriage who will use their divorces as leverage to garner rights for gays and lesbians to marry.  After all, how can the church protest and tell law makers, politicians and proponents of same sex marriage that same-sex marriage is wrong when their heterosexual marriages are ending in divorce by as much as 50 percent or more?

We have got to get our voice back.  We have got to regain our composure as the Body of Christ and realize God loves and established the institution of marriage.  We can no longer diminish the voice of reason, the voice of the church to rebut against homosexuality and same-sex marriage by allowing the demise of marriages to continue.  As a whole, we must repent, turn around and take a stand and fight again for marriage.  The church as a whole and people individually must take a stand and engage in warfare that includes a balanced mix of prayer and work towards health marriages.  We must pray for marriages.  Couples actively working at having healthy relationships are key components to waging an effective war!  Let the war begin today to combat the enemy of God’s institution of marriage.  Married couples, work on your marriage!  You have the power within you to have a great marriage but it takes the power of two to make it happen!

Martin Luther’s 97 Theses (The Ones That Weren’t Nailed To The Door)

Posted by Job on August 23, 2008

Everyone is familiar with Martin Luther’s 95 theses nailed to the door that started the Protestant Reformation. What is probably not as widely known is that it was Luther’s SECOND document challenging Roman Catholicism, and furthermore was not intended to start any great controversy, but was rather meant only to provoke theological debate among Luther’s peers at the University of Wittenburg. It was Luther’s FIRST document, the 97 theses, that he originally intended to use to challenge the Roman Catholic Church. However, because his original challenge dealt primarily with doctrinal and practical issues, while it was accepted among Luther’s circle at Wittenburg (who had already been heavily influenced by Luther’s preaching for several years prior, meaning that the field had been plowed), it went no further. So, the 95 theses was meant as a followup to keep the internal debate going. Now realize that the 95 theses were not nearly as theological, but was instead much more practical, speaking directly to the religious, political, economic, and social conditions of the day, and in that manner actually more closely resembled the preaching of Jesus Christ, Peter, and John the Baptist than his prior theological manifesto which is listed below.

This truly demonstrates that God works in ways that man cannot understand, predict, or comprehend. Luther’s first document that he intended to provoke a wide debate based on his deep theological insights went nowhere, much to his disappointment, and he actually may have even given up on his reform agenda. But his second document, written after he regarded his original plan to be a failure with the intent of merely stimulating a debate among his adherents and made its challenge based on the way that people worshiped and lived rather than what they believed, was what God used to change the world!

From this we can perhaps draw the lesson that while God certainly cares about and uses to change and transform us what we believe (orthodoxy) it is how we worship and live (orthopraxy) that God uses to transform others. Orthodoxy is what God sees, orthopraxy is what the Holy Spirit causes other people, especially non – Christians that God has elected to salvation, respond to.

As a side note, certain people misappropriated Luther’s movement and used it to cause a great deal of trouble, including violent uprisings. (Among them were people who called themselves prophets and declared that they no longer needed scripture because they received direct revelation from God.) Naturally, this caused problems for Luther, as the Roman Catholics sought to blame him for the trouble. Prior to now, you had a lot of people attempting to reform Roman Catholicism from within, and their leader was regarded as Erasmus, whose primary goal above all else was to avoid dissension and conflict (a religious philosophy that owed more to Greek pagan philosophy than the teachings of Jesus Christ). Where Erasmus was originally sympathetic to Luther, he refused to commit to cast in his lot with Luther because it would have been the very sort of troublemaking that Erasmus’ religious beliefs held to be the root of all evils. In other words, Erasmus was the forerunner of modern Christians who demand that we should all strive for peace and unity no matter the differences doctrines and behavior! But when the uprisings that were blamed on Luther happened, it provoked Erasmus to take a stand against Luther, for Erasmus regarded Luther as having committed the biggest possible crime and injury against his belief system: disturbing the peace. So, Erasmus, leader of the humanist reformers of Roman Catholicism (in his day “humanism” meant “lovers of the humanities” i.e. arts, classic literature, etc.) decided that the best way to challenge Luther was to go after the doctrines of election and predestination, and in doing so wrote his own manifesto rejecting those doctrines and asserting his own belief in free will salvation. Luther’s response: Erasmus’ notion of free will had its origins in Greek pagan philosophy, the Aristotle, Plato, and Zeno that Erasmus so loved and was heavily influenced by, and not the Bible. (In defense of Erasmus, he acquired his love for Greek pagan philosophy because of his own dissatisfaction with Roman Catholic scholarship … he and the other humanists rejected many of the teachings of Rome and decided to go back to the Bible itself. Unfortunately, they decided to go back to the writings of many early western Christians also, and their writings were filled with the very influences of pagan philosophy that led to the development of Roman Catholicism to begin with. So Erasmus was willing to come part of the way out of Babylon, but not all of the way out, for he found certain parts of Babylon pleasing and useful to him. In addition to the earlier point on how God uses a Christian’s orthodoxy to transform the Christian himself but  a Christian’s orthopraxy to transform other people, the wages of being unwilling to fully abandon Babylon are also worth contemplating.)

Translated by Harold J. Grimm, taken from Luther’s 97 Theses: Disputation Against Scholastic Theology (Scholasticism) on the Contend Earnestly blog.

1. To say that Augustine exaggerates in speaking against heretics is to say that Augustine tells lies almost everywhere. This is contrary to common knowledge.
2. This is the same as permitting Pelagians1 and all heretics to triumph, indeed, the same as conceding victory to them.
3. It is the same as making sport of the authority of all doctors of theology.
4. It is therefore true that man, being a bad tree, can only will and do evil [Cf. Matt. 7:17–18].
5. It is false to state that man’s inclination is free to choose between either of two opposites. Indeed, the inclination is not free, but captive. Tiffs is said in opposition to common opinion.

6. It is false to state that the will can by nature conform to correct precept. This is said in opposition to Scotus2 and Gabriel.3
7. As a matter of fact, without the grace of God the will produces an act that is perverse and evil.
8. It does not, however, follow that the will is by nature evil, that is, essentially evil, as the Manichaeans4 maintain.
9. It is nevertheless innately and inevitably evil and corrupt.
10. One must concede that the will is not free to strive toward whatever is declared good. This in opposition to Scotus and Gabriel.
11. Nor is it able to will or not to will whatever is prescribed.
12. Nor does one contradict St. Augustine when one says that nothing is so much in the power of the will as the will itself.
13. It is absurd to conclude that erring man can love the creature above all things, therefore also God. This in opposition to Scotus and Gabriel.
14. Nor is it surprising that the will can conform to erroneous and not to correct precept.
15. Indeed, it is peculiar to it that it can only conform to erroneous and not to correct precept.
16. One ought rather to conclude: since erring man is able to love the creature it is impossible for him to love God.
17. Man is by nature unable to want God to be God. Indeed, he himself wants to be God, and does not want God to be God.
18. To love God above all things by nature is a fictitious term, a chimera, as it were. This is contrary to common teaching.
19. Nor can we apply the reasoning of Scotus concerning the brave citizen who loves his country more than himself.
20. An act of friendship is done, not according to nature, but according to prevenient grace. This in opposition to Gabriel.
21. No act is done according to nature that is not an act of concupiscence against God.
22. Every act of concupiscence against God is evil and a fornication of the spirit.
23. Nor is it true that an act of concupiscence can be set aright by the virtue of hope. This in opposition to Gabriel.
24. For hope is not contrary to charity, which seeks and desires only that which is of God.
25. Hope does not grow out of merits, but out of suffering which destroys merits. This in opposition to the opinion of many.
26. An act of friendship is not the most perfect means for accomplishing that which is in one.5 Nor is it the most perfect means for obtaining the grace of God or turning toward and approaching God.
27. But it is an act of conversion already perfected, following grace both in time and by nature.
28. If it is said of the Scripture passages, “Return to me,…and I will return to you” [Zech. 1:3.], “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you” [Jas. 4:8], “Seek and you will find” [Matt. 7:7], “You will seek me and find me” [Jer. 29:13], and the like, that one is by nature, the other by grace, this is no different from asserting what the Pelagians have said.
29. The best and infallible preparation for grace and the sole disposition toward grace is the eternal election and predestination of God.
30. On the part of man, however, nothing precedes grace except indisposition and even rebellion against grace.
31. It is said with the idlest demonstrations that the predestined can be damned individually but not collectively. This in opposition to the scholastics.
32. Moreover, nothing is achieved by the following saying: Predestination is necessary by virtue of the consequence of God’s willing, but not of what actually followed, namely, that God had to elect a certain person.
33. And this is false, that doing all that one is able to do can remove the obstacles to grace. This in opposition to several authorities.
34. In brief, man by nature has neither correct precept nor good will.
35. It is not true that an invincible ignorance excuses one completely (all scholastics notwithstanding);
36. For ignorance of God and oneself and good work is always invincible to nature.
37. Nature, moreover, inwardly and necessarily glories and takes pride in every work which is apparently and outwardly good.
38. There is no moral virtue without either pride or sorrow, that is, without sin.
39. We are not masters of our actions, from beginning to end, but servants. This in opposition to the philosophers.
40. We do not become righteous by doing righteous deeds but, having been made righteous, we do righteous deeds. This in opposition to the philosophers.
41. Virtually the entire Ethics of Aristotle is the worst enemy of grace. This in opposition to the scholastics.
42. It is an error to maintain that Aristotle’s statement concerning happiness does not contradict Catholic doctrine. This in opposition to the doctrine on morals.
43. It is an error to say that no man can become a theologian without Aristotle. This in opposition to common opinion.
44. Indeed, no one can become a theologian unless he becomes one without Aristotle.
45. To state that a theologian who is not a logician is a monstrous heretic—this is a monstrous and heretical statement. This in opposition to common opinion.
46. In vain does one fashion a logic of faith, a substitution brought about without regard for limit and measure. This in opposition to the new dialecticians.
47. No syllogistic form is valid when applied to divine terms. This in opposition to the Cardinal.6
48. Nevertheless it does not for that reason follow that the truth of the doctrine of the Trinity contradicts syllogistic forms. This in opposition to the same new dialecticians and to the Cardinal.
49. If a syllogistic form of reasoning holds in divine matters, then the doctrine of the Trinity is demonstrable and not the object of faith.
50. Briefly, the whole Aristotle7 is to theology as darkness is to light. This in opposition to the scholastics.
51. It is very doubtful whether the Latins comprehended the correct meaning of Aristotle.
52. It would have been better for the church if Porphyry8 with his universals had not been born for the use of theologians.
53. Even the more useful definitions of Aristotle seem to beg the question.
54. For an act to be meritorious, either the presence of grace is sufficient, or its presence means nothing. This in opposition to Gabriel.
55. The grace of God is never present in such a way that it is inactive, but it is a living, active, and operative spirit; nor can it happen that through the absolute power of God an act of friendship may be present without the presence of the grace of God. This in opposition to Gabriel.
56. It is not true that God can accept man without his justifying grace. This in opposition to Ockham.9
57. It is dangerous to say that the law commands that an act of obeying the commandment be done in the grace of God. This in opposition to the Cardinal and Gabriel.
58. From this it would follow that “to have the grace of God” is actually a new demand going beyond the law.
59. It would also follow that fulfilling the law can take place without the grace of God.
60. Likewise it follows that the grace of God would be more hateful than the law itself.
61. It does not follow that the law should be complied with and fulfilled in the grace of God. This in opposition to Gabriel.
62. And that therefore he who is outside the grace of God sins incessantly, even when he does not kill, commit adultery, or become angry.
63. But it follows that he sins because he does not spiritually fulfill the law.
64. Spiritually that person does not kill, does not do evil, does not become enraged when he neither becomes angry nor lusts.
65. Outside the grace of God it is indeed impossible not to become angry or lust, so that not even in grace is it possible to fulfill the law perfectly.
66. It is the righteousness of the hypocrite actually and outwardly not to kill, do evil, etc.
67. It is by the grace of God that one does not lust or become enraged.
68. Therefore it is impossible to fulfill the law in any way without the grace of God.
69. As a matter of fact, it is more accurate to say that the law is destroyed by nature without the grace of God.
70. A good law will of necessity be bad for the natural will.
71. Law and will are two implacable foes without the grace of God.
72. What the law wants, the will never wants, unless it pretends to want it out of fear or love.
73. The law, as taskmaster of the will, will not be overcome except by the “child, who has been born to us” [Isa. 9:6].
74. The law makes sin abound because it irritates and repels the will [Rom. 7:13].
75. The grace of God, however, makes justice abound through Jesus Christ because it causes one to be pleased with the law.
76. Every deed of the law without the grace of God appears good outwardly, but inwardly it is sin. This in opposition to the scholastics.
77. The will is always averse to, and the hands inclined toward, the law of the Lord without the grace of God.
78. The will which is inclined toward the law without the grace of God is so inclined by reason of its own advantage.
79. Condemned are all those who do the works of the law.
80. Blessed are all those who do the works of the grace of God.
81. Chapter Falsas concerning penance, dist. 5, 10 confirms the fact that works outside the realm of grace are not good, if this is not understood falsely.
82. Not only are the religious ceremonials not the good law and the precepts in which one does not live (in opposition to many teachers);
83. But even the Decalogue itself and all that can be taught and prescribed inwardly and outwardly is not good law either.
84. The good law and that in which one lives is the love of God, spread abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.
85. Anyone’s will would prefer, if it were possible, that there would be no law and to be entirely free.
86. Anyone’s will hates it that the law should be imposed upon it; if, however, the will desires imposition of the law it does so out of love of self.
87. Since the law is good, the will, which is hostile to it, cannot be good.
88. And from this it is clear that everyone’s natural will is iniquitous and bad.
89. Grace as a mediator is necessary to reconcile the law with the will.
90. The grace of God is given for the purpose of directing the will, lest it err even in loving God. In opposition to Gabriel.
91. It is not given so that good deeds might be induced more frequently and readily, but because without it no act of love is performed. In opposition to Gabriel.
92. It cannot be denied that love is superfluous if man is by nature able to do an act of friendship. In opposition to Gabriel.
93. There is a kind of subtle evil in the argument that an act is at the same time the fruit and the use of the fruit. In opposition to Ockham, the Cardinal, Gabriel.
94. This holds true also of the saying that the love of God may continue alongside an intense love of the creature.
95. To love God is at the same time to hate oneself and to know nothing but God.
96. We must make our will conform in every respect to the will of God (in opposition to the Cardinal);
97. So that we not only will what God wills, but also ought to will whatever God wills.
In these statements we wanted to say and believe we have said nothing that is not in agreement with the Catholic church and the teachers of the church.
