  1. This is typical of the kind of stuff that God told Smith Wigglesworth to do, I assume if you spoke to the people who connected with God in these situations then they would probably be blessed out of their socks!
Hey din’t Jesus spit on people?
Also how ignorant was it when Jesus told the Lame man to pick up his bed and walk, just a thought of course.
Here’s one though, why are we so quick to condemn men who step out in faith and only proclaim God and take Him at His word?
I mean, what lengths would you go to just to experience the hem of His garment?
    I know what I’d do.
I would be careful however as one day you alone will be accountable to God for the things you say and do!
    Keep praising Him!!
Dont steer anyone away from the blessing of God.

This is so cool. And to think they were healed. I guess I would not mind, only as long as I am healed. Hey, I should try that the next time I pray for someone, Lord directed of course. Hey, guess what, I think I know why he did that. He needed to get their mind off their situation to get the healing. I am sure some sissy Christians watching might not like it, but I would, if I was healed by God through it.

Taking comparative religion, anthropology, world cultures, or a course on missionaries would end a lot of the fascination that charismatics and Pentecostals have with faith – healing. The truth is that LOTS of religions and cults have healers. Now these healers are generally VERY EXPENSIVE. So do Christians honestly think that these people go to these healers and have these beliefs for no reason? Why … because they are just backwards and not that smart? Those foolish third worlders … they’ll fall for anything! They just aren’t as … SOPHISTICATED as us folks in the west who tell our kids about Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, and the Easter bunny!

Charismatics and Pentecostals need to go to and buy “And The Word Came With Power” by missionary Jo Anne Shetler to see what these witch doctors from these false religions are capable of. Once they do, they will know not to automatically presume that just because a person is healed that it means that it is of God.

God has often asked people to do weird things to be healed. Wash in the Jordan seven times, spit on mud and put it in eyes. I’ve heard testimony of a minister who was told to punch a women in the stomach. Not knowing why, he obeyed and punched her and a large tumor that was present in her abdomen instantly disappeared.

I have the classic argument here. Show me the FULL UNEDITED video so that I can understand the CONTEXT of the testimony. I understand your need to illustrate your point briefly, but it must also be substantiated by context.

Don’t let a possible lack of power in your life cause you to scoff at people God is using. I know he looks weird. It’s perfect for God to use the foolish to confound the wise. Lighten up. By the way, Jesus was accused of user satan’s power to heal. Beelzebub doesn’t cast out Beelzebub.

Iain and Steven, what have you been smokin? To even begin to think that is of God is what a psychiatrist would label ‘nuts’. You need to go see what the bible says, not what the biker says. By the way I hate to break your bubble but I just got back from the 8th heavens and was chatting with an angel who told me Todd’s angels and tattoos are not from God. I know you will accept my experience as the truth and stop following him. Welcome home!

None of the people that I have seen or heard of Todd doing something physical to were ever injured. They were, however, healed. Now, if he kicked an old woman in the face and broke her nose, that would be different. The old woman he tells about fell under the power as his boot came up and never made contact with her. He tells of beating a young girl’s legs up and down like a baseball bat. She was paralyzed and had never walked. Not only was she uninjured, but she could walk.

The question is what is the fruit of this stuff? Are people getting healed? Then what’s the problem?

Oh, the bible doesn’t teach stuff like that? God grabbed Ezekiel up into the air by the hair of his head. Jesus spit, made mud and put it on a guy’s eyes. He spit and touched the spit to a man’s tongue. Isaiah was told to walk naked. Ezekiel was told to lay naked on his side for 3 years and cook his food over dung. God has consistently done weird things in scripture.

One of the keys to understanding this is something Todd said in one of his meetings about this. “God speaks my language.” Todd, like many young men, is a WWE fan. God is speaking in a language that a large number of unchurched people understand. Bikers love him. Young men love him. They are willing to listen to him about the Jesus he knows because he has touched something in them. They don’t, however, tend to relate to or attend church, because church is too out of touch with their lives.

Church people don’t like Todd, but then again, they didn’t like Jesus in his day either. Jesus was too different and did things that didn’t fit their theology. The common people loved him.

We all want to see spectacular things happen, but at what expense. These actions cannot be justified in the Bible.
Use your sense of reasoning and read scriptures.
I don’t know why some of you are trying to justify this type of teaching and actions.

    Hi hope you are well.

Yes it is amazing that so many people will be fooled by false prophets. Some of these guys are so fake that they appear as a comedy act. Unfortunately it is a very serious issue with souls at stake.

Let me remind you that salvation is of grace and a free gift. Furthermore nobody can come to God unless God draws him near. Remember the path to God is straight and narrow and few find it. But the way to damnation is broad and wide and many walk down it.

Just look at the Catholic Church. It’s been around for a long time and has a billion members. Yet with just reading the Bible once a person could pick out a dozen heresies that church practices without even getting deep into scripture.

So the blind are leading the blind. They will both fall into the pit. Yes it is sad and tragic but scripture teaches us these things. Call out the warning, Love the lost, try to teach, be a good example that is all we can do. It is up to God to give the increase.

    May God bless you,

    1. No one has ever claimed to be injured by what Todd is doing.

    2. The people involved in these acts are claiming to be healed following them and healed by the power of God.

Do you believe that Abraham dictated the Book of Hebrews to Paul as Todd Bentley claims (but seems to have removed from his website)? Are you aware that such a claim means that the Book of Hebrews should be removed from the Bible, because the Bible requires the co – authorship and inspiration of the Holy Spirit and not of dead men (or of angelic beings)? Of course, other books, especially prophetic and apocalyptic ones i.e. Daniel and Revelation, contain statements given to the writer by angels. However, such books specifically state when this is happening i.e. “the angel of the Lord told me and I did write …” So if Paul had gotten Hebrews from a dead man instead of the living God, he would have been obligated to share that information with us.

Do you disagree? Do you believe Todd Bentley when he says that the spirit of the dead Abraham co – wrote Hebrews? And if Todd Bentley is right, should Hebrews be in your Bible, which is supposed to be the inspired, infallible, final authority Word of God useful for all instruction, doctrine, and correction? I have yet to hear a Todd Bentley defender address that issue on this post: so maybe you will provide that service here. Come on out, put yourself on the line, commit yourself. Tell us that you believe that Abraham co – wrote the book of Hebrews but that it should remain in our Bibles anyway because Todd Bentley said so.

  17. While this level of insanity we see in the defenders of TB is shocking and sad, it is not new and defenders of the abuse of false teachers are mentioned in scripture.

2 Corinthians 11:20 (New American Standard Bible)

20 For you tolerate it if anyone enslaves you, anyone devours you, anyone takes advantage of you, anyone exalts himself, anyone hits you in the face.

Some don’t want to tolerate sound doctrine, they’ll take anyone that sounds good and let them beat them up. If it might make them feel physically “better”, they’d let a voodoo man pour chicken blood all over them.

Well so far from the evidence I have researched and posted on my site and another blog start to stack up against, not only Todd now, but also sadly God TV, which I’m glad now I stopped sowing a word, sorry, seed, I mean money into some years back, amen:

Thankfully it was repeated yet again on one of God Tv channels on Saturday night 31st May 2008, so from what I can gather he says the following:
‘I pray this girl would receive by the angels in heaven a new heart blah blah blah.’
Now was this a slip up, I’m still convinced that no where in the Bible are angels called upon to do such things, putting the emphasis on them is surely wrong, only God, The Holy Spirit and Jesus name can be mentioned in healing, it’s three in one, not half a dozen in one.
Again the trouble comes from the fact he said by, and not in the name of angels from heaven, so I guess it could be explained lightly away and I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill, going against God’s Spirit like the Pharisees and awaiting my judgment and hell, oops.
However I still maintain something still does not quite 100% sit right with all this, bit like the asking for money during missions week on TV ministry shows. Or the Green miracle Handkerchief. I guess only time will tell, but if it is all nonsense, how many will have been duped.

Too much to put in one posting from the other blog, so I’ll just do a bit more, below and that’s it then, you can make up your own minds then. /jesus%20death%20mask%20p%20hol.pdf

The following makes interesting listening, but is a bit harsh in the way the guy says the things that he does.
Interesting are the pdf files that he has provided:

Just found this on God TV:

God TV Missions Week is currently on the air. What a TRAVESTY for Christendom! The Alecs are in GREAT ERROR and GREAT DECEPTION! One small example of this was the SCROLLING SIGN across my TV set the week before the $$$ raising event which read:
PREPARE YOUR OFFERINGS BEFORE THE LORD: YOUR BREAKTHROUGH IS HERE! Can you BELIEVE Mike Murdock has been on with Benny Hinn, who by the way, buys addresses and phone numbers from Peter Popoff and Leroy Jenkins. The proof is on my Cell phone! There are calls made to me from all three of these CREEPS! Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne I would dare not speak against for he is a true and faithful servant of God. I thank you for this blog and am grateful to have found it. May God Bless you in the work you are doing.

What makes an ‘annointing’? Just claiming to have one doesn’t make it true. There are people who claim to be Jesus of course we reject them.

But Why do the have no alternatively healing revival of your own?

  23. Smith Wigglesworth was also a false teacher. He’s the one who started the “you need more faith if you want to be healed” nonsense. If one believes Jesus is the Son of God they already have enough faith. Healing comes as the Lord wills.

Wigglesworth learned garbage from an Assemblies of God woman (less than 10 years after the Azusa incident) who taught him the art of babbling and he took it from there himself.

Wigglesworth is the one who claimed there would be “world wide revivals” when scripture mentions coming world wide apostasy, 2 Thessalonians 2.

Wigglesworth started the “holy healing” handkerchief scam!

Wigglesworth started the lie that someone who was sick was in their condition because of demons.

Wigglesworth started the assertion of AVOIDING MEDICAL TREATMENT and he himself avoided even doctor recommended surgical procedures. He didn’t even allow an autopsy of himself after his death.

Wigglesworth claims to have raised his wife from the dead 3 times, although no doctors ever affirmed his claims.

If any of you are wondering where all this fake “healing” garbage stared. It started with a man named Smith Wigglesworth.

Can you prove from scripture that Paul did not encounter Abraham in heaven during his time there where he says he saw things he was not allowed to tell? No, you cannot. Neither can Todd prove from scripture what he says. There is the fact that there are some things related in Hebrews that you really can’t pull from Genesis.

All scripture is God-breathed. God did not bother to tell us how that works. Since neither you nor I (nor Todd Bentley, for that matter) have ever penned scripture, we do not know how that process took place. God never bothered to reveal how the word of the Lord comes to a person.

Jesus did indeed have a conversation with a dead guy while he was on earth in the flesh. His name was Moses. Not only did Jesus talk to him, but Peter, James and John were there as well.

I don’t see a real point in freaking out on such a non-essential point. If Todd were saying Jesus did not come in the flesh, then there is an issue. Prophetic experiences are just like all other prophetic occurrences in the New Testament. There is an element of self involved in them and they can always be off. That is why Paul said for the other prophets to judge them.

Independent Conservative, what causes illness but being oppressed by devils?

Smith Wigglesworth was working as a plumber full time, he did not scam anyone.

Your predujices against biblical gifts are clear to see and remember that Asuza happened after the Holy Spirit fell in Sunderland in a Cathedral and the Church of England dismissed those who spoke in tounges. Everyone who has studied the Church of England knows that they are at least 50 per cent freemasons. It is obvious why they might not want the gifts like prophecy and discernment.

I see you are not talking about Jesus putting mud in a man’s eye, Jesus. It si sad when people admit to being swayed by the evidence which is being sensationalised on blogs.

  26. Independent Conservative, what causes illness but being oppressed by devils?

It is for YOU to break out YOUR BIBLE and prove your claim that all illness is caused by demonic oppression. I’m not the one making the claim, but I’d certainly like to see you support your claim from scripture, since you stand that lie.

1 Timothy 5:23 (New American Standard Bible)

23 No longer drink water exclusively, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.

I guess Timothy had a demon oppressing him and Paul told him to drink some “spirits” to remove the oppression of the evil spirit 😆 😀 😕 ?

You enjoy babbling, but you can’t speak to anyone in their native language, yet you call it “tongues” 😆 . You make a mockery of the gift, by your faking as if you have a gift that YOU DO NOT HAVE.

If Todd Bentley had a gift of healing by the Holy Spirit of God, he would have walked into the hospital in Lakeland, FL and cleared it out. Instead he’s holding shows to promote himself and his false doctrines. All that “transferable” garbage is not lowering business at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

And which Apostle put mud on someone’s eyes? Which Apostle beat someone to heal them and cast out demons? What Christ did was never duplicated and even that did not involve the savagery of the doctrine of demons promoted by Todd Bentley AND YOU.

  27. And Smith Wigglesworth was a plumber at first. Then he became a part time pimp and eventually left the plumbing trade completely to pimp FULL TIME.

  28. Elizabeth Kiger said

God is so beyond our comprehension, isn’t He? The saying ‘there is more than meets the eye’ has proved again and again by God. Faith is believing in what we can’t see, and sometimes that requires us doing some VERY OUT OF THE BOX THINGS. The Pharisees and Sadducees didn’t believe either, and they missed out big time. What do you have to lose in believing?

Your really strange. I mean really. Can you stop the aging process? That is a form of degenerative disease. Your cell functions essentially become less and less efficient as you age. This invites a whole host of degenerative diseases. There are not a bunch of little demons and devils running around your body poking at organs. MAN! I can’t believe people still get duped by the Pimps. But anyways, it’s appointed for man to die once and it is usually by some form of disease, accident, or even -SHOCK! Martyrdom. Yes it’s sad but true but the Lord does a very efficient job of applying death to us both sinner and saved alike. Yes it is “appointed” also as the scripture says. Sorry man but God is not stopping the scimitar from slicing off the heads of men, women, and children in Muslim countries who are Christians. God did not separate the few Christians in the tsunami in Indonesia. They all died both sinners and saved. God did not prevent true Christians in China from being hunted down and imprisoned.

Unfortunately the fat lazy Western Christian lifestyle you so love has allowed you to become brainwashed into thinking your a little god and that your just so precious that nothing bad will ever happen to special little dawkinswatch because he watches TBN and jumps up and down in church and babbles. You need to grow up.

I am a Charismatic who “babbles.” Despite this, it is obvious to me how messed up Todd Bentley is. I was given a copy of his book “The Reality of the Supernatural World.” I was told it would “change my life.” Instead I found that it deeply disturbed me. Todd promotes and honors angels as if they are the real saviors. He promotes visionary experiences very similar to the astral travel in new age circles. Todd says when signs and wonders start happening we won’t even have to preach the gospel!

I say all this for two reasons:

    1) Charismatics and Pentecostals need to use discernment and not just jump on a bandwagon because people are getting healed.

    2) Non-Charismatics need to realize that many Charismatics actually do have a high view of Scripture and a deep love for the purity of the gospel.

Anyway, it’s Todd’s false teaching and angel worship that disturbs me more than his violent prayer techniques. Let’s just hope he doesn’t write a ministry manual for praying for the sick! That could get ugly, especially if it is marketed to bikers and wrestling fans! LOL

People are always talking about the gift of healing, speaking in tongues and prophecy – what about the gift of discernment that we so badly need these days. Christians are being deeply wounded by others who are tripping them up with false teaching. Are people so blind – THE DEVIL COMES AS AN ANGEL OF LIGHT – not as a mean old monster. HE IMMITATES GOD and USES SUPERNATURAL POWERS. Test everything before you claim it to be of God. Would God tell someone to kick ONE OF HIS PRECIOUS CHILDREN in the teeth>? – I dont think so!

I have studied this latests phenonemon for a couple of weeks now and it interests me to see that the people for Todd only support him on the basis of the so called mostly unverified healings and supernatural stuff. Whereas on the other hand those against his teaching/ministry base their arguments on the word. So who is using Biblical discernment here?

Do you not know that it clearly says in Matthew chapter 7 Watch out for false prophets …….Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evil doers.”

We have only the words of those caught up in the hype of the meeting claiming healing so far and there have been reports of Tod falsley claiming a girl raised from the dead. And even if there were some miracles what would that prove? Where does the Bible say that miracles are proof of a persons true spiritual condition?

I suggest you read “The Beautiful side of Evil” which can be bought from lighthouse trails publishing to see that Satan can manufacture a pretty good counterfiet of just about anything to those who practice little if no discernment.

It does not matter if it FEELS good and that stuff is happening it must line up with the Bible.

One last comment. If Todd Bentley has 12 legions of angels at his command and has a whole lot of financial angels to bring him money why does he need to ask for an offering or help to pay for the cost of this spectacle. Surely Todd and his angels could end world wide Christian poverty right now, right now BAM. I am sure my Christian friends in Zambia would love to have the cash.

Why are you all so concerned? If what is happening in Lakeland is not real it will come to nothing. So why are you all in an uproar. God is still God, Do you think he needs help in handling his church. Come On! he is a lot bigger than I here any of your posts give him credit for. That’s it you guys just want to keep God in your little religious boxes, tell him how to move, what he can do and can’t do, and thats why the church is so powerless. You would rather give the enemy more power than God.You know if what is happening is real (and I believe it is) that makes those against what God is doing as antichrist spirits. Which the Bible says is also in the world in the last days. Hummmm.

  35. Kathy – You say:

If what is happening in Lakeland is not real it will come to nothing.

Please let me know the scripture you use to affirm that, because if it’s the one of the words of a Christ denying Pharisee, you’ve got a real problem.

What the God warned through the apostles is:
1 Corinthians 5:6 (New American Standard Bible)

6 Your boasting is not good Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough?

They didn’t just let leaven sit around unnoticed and act like it would come to nothing.

God is still God, Do you think he needs help in handling his church.

Why don’t you see the scripture noted at the very top of this blog page, Jude 1:3. Or since you feel to do anything in speaking out is to try and “help God”, perhaps all pastors should never speak again and just let God handle spreading the gospel? That is how illogical you sound!

As God uses PEOPLE to spread the gospel He uses PEOPLE to warn of false teachers, including Todd Bentley. All speaking from scripture to affirm the point.

It’s interesting how you refer to the Bible regarding people who speak against false teacher Todd Bentley, while Bentley speaks of things that fail to be supported with scripture and you are OK with him. Which Apostle beat people up to cast out demons? Please show us from the Bible where Christians were instructed to act as Bentley is acting in assaulting people?

You want to talk about the Bible, good, use it to prove what Bentley said in the video above is of God.

  36. Job said

    Kathy Smith:

By your doctrines, Paul, Peter, John, and the other writers of the New Testament epistles would have been unable to speak against false doctrines. Keeping God in a box by telling Him what He can and cannot do? Of course not. What I am instead doing is speaking the truth: the way God moves and deals with mankind will never be in a way that is inconsistent with His nature, and the only gauge that we have of God’s nature is how God revealed Himself to mankind in a completed, infallible, and finally authoritative fashion in the BIBLE. Were that not the case, then anyone could claim to be a servant of Jesus Christ no matter what He says or does. Hindus, Muslims, Satanists, voodoo witch doctors, atheists, it wouldn’t matter, because there would be no standards, and all paths would lead to heaven. Everyone would be saved, even genocidal murderers like Hitler, because there would be no standards by which to condemn anyone. If Biblical revelation is not the authority, then who says that salvation is only through Jesus Christ? Who says stealing is wrong? Lying? Fornication and adultery? Murder? And as for blasphemy and idolatry … they wouldn’t exist. Basically, the doctrines that you use to defend Todd Bentley takes everything that was first revealed to Moses and the prophets and then fulfilled by Jesus Christ and throws it out the window. Why? Because you are claiming that the Bible does not matter.

Well I am here to tell you today that the Bible DOES MATTER. When did I say that Bentley was not healing people? If that is what you mean by “you know what is happening is real”, then you are accusing me falsely, because I have never said otherwise concerning the healings and such. I only state that it is not of God, because the doctrines and activities and associations of Bentley oppose scripture … they violate biblical doctrines and commandments and they are not consistent with the way that miracles and signs happened in the Bible.

Your problem is that you presume that merely because people are being healed, that supernatural things are going on, that it is of God. Now if you are a charismatic, you ought to be ashamed of yourself for feeling that way. Why? Because I was born and raised Pentecostal Holiness, and if there was anything that I learned from that background, it was that evil spirits are real. That is right, evil spirits exist, and people who deal with them can do some amazing things. My goodness, why else would false religions exist? Go back to your Bible. Remember Moses when he had to contend against the witch doctors of Egypt? In the New Testament, what about the fortune teller slave girl? Or when Saul consulted the witch of Endor, who conjured up the spirit of Samuel? That witch actually did call up the spirit of Samuel. That slave girl could actually tell the future. And the chief priests and magicians in Egypt actually did turn their rods into snakes. They actually did cause frogs to come forth. They actually did turn water into blood! So if in Bible times people dealing with demons were able to turn rods into snakes, bring up frogs, call up spirits of dead people, tell the future, and turn water into blood … actual miracles where the natural created order is interrupted … what makes you think that people who deal in evil spirits cannot heal someone? My goodness, I keep saying that Todd Bentley, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Oral Roberts, etc. supporters need to read some of these amazing books and articles by Christians on the mission field, of how they have to perform greater miracles than the priests and doctors of the local religions before they can get people to convert. The people will convert only after the missionaries demonstrate to them that Jesus Christ is more powerful than whatever demons they are worshiping. And by the way … did you know that Hindus speak in unknown tongues? See
It happens in their temples all the time. So, yes, Kathy Smith, “the spirit does move.” But we need THE BIBLE to tell us whether the spirit that is moving the Holy Spirit or some evil spirit. So instead of me speaking against God and denying His power, you are denying what the Bible plainly says about evil spirits, namely that it is no small thing for an angel of darkness to masquerade as an angel of light. If you do not recognize that verse, it is because it is in Corinthians, the very books that followers of Todd Bentley and all like him totally ignore (along with 2 Timothy) because those books expose just how false and abominable these teachers are. Well let me tell you something: go seek out any number of witch doctors, root workers, voodoo people, witches, spiritists, or animists and see if you find anything supernatural going on. Chances are you will. When it happens, will you attribute it to God and call the people who worked those supernatural sign acts servants of the Most High and only true God? If not, why not? Be consistent: if Todd Bentley does these things and tells you to call upon and worship Emma the angel or whoever and you claim that He is a servant of Jesus Christ, then why do you withhold the same from someone else just because he is a witch doctor? If you are going to reject the Bible in some areas, be consistent and reject it completely, because Romans says that if a person is guilty in one area, they are guilty of it all! Keep the whole Bible or throw it all away, just don’t be lukewarm or double minded. It is amazing how so many people are willing to throw away just about everything the Bible says just because someone can heal people, but the truth is that it is not altogether surprising.

      Hi Job,
Your reply is well explained as to the power of false religion. I’ve never heard of Todd Bentley until a CBN video. So I searched for Todd on google as I suspected some kind of controversy or affair, but the video was not clear.
Anyway, we all need to read the bible every day and be guided by the holy spirit. But first, we all need a sound Biblical education to understand and counter all this.

Mail me your biblical based opinion on “the rapture” of the church – pre trib, trib or post trib? If Jesus is God and God knows everything, is Jesus a little less than God the Father as only God the Father knows when Jesus is coming back? Also, what English translation or study Bible emphasises the original meaning and context? Thank you.

Since when does God need to beat the crap out of people to get them healed?? Sorry…just doesn’t make any sense to me. Didn’t he take all that beating on Himself, all the stripes on His back for my healing so that I wouldn’t have to endure it myself?? He took it ALL upon Himself once and for all, and then stated..”It is finished!!”…no, I’m not buying this crap. This isn’t lining up with scripture at all. Just because God used some pretty crazy methods in the bible, I never once saw “violence” as a means of healing someone. In fact, remember Jesus’ response to Peter cutting the guards ear off?? He wasn’t for it…He healed the guards ear. I just don’t believe a God who is the embodiment of love would kick people in the face, knock some guys tooth out, put some guy in a choke hold, etc., as a means of healing. That’s not the Jesus I know…that’s all I can say.

So, do you believe that we…God’s workmanship, have/possess the power to heal those afflicted with sickness, restore sight to those that are blind…even raise a person back from the dead…even greater things…like say teleportation for one?

  39. Jmass, can you explain to us why Jesus in John 14 said greater things and anything asked would be given, but when Paul asked in 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 he did not receive what he asked for? And why does 1 Corinthians 12 mention the church receiving a diversity of gifts rather than everybody having all gifts as the Apostles? And why after the apostles did nobody effectively display ALL gifts? Why when pimps such as Todd Bentley and his co-horts go to foreign lands do they need an interpreter rather than using their claimed gift of “tongues”? Why did Jesus say His followers would be able to even drink deadly poison in Mark 16:17-18, but today we see food poisoning outbreaks at church dinners?

No, you’re not going to do as the first Apostles the promise was given to and those with them because you are not them. You are at a point where what comes occurs only as the Lord wills and you have to live by His will rather than what you care to request.

James 4:3 (New American Standard Bible)

3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

James 4:13-17 (New American Standard Bible)

13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.”

14 Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.

15 Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”

16 But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil.

17 Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.

But if you want to show you can teleport, you can whisk into the room I’m sitting in right now whenever you’re ready and prove me wrong.

You only get as the Lord wills and you can’t name a single person who actually displayed all spiritual gifts at their full command after the Apostles in scripture.

can any of you judge the heart of man?can any of you know the heart
of man?which one of you?which one of you have ever prayed for anyone and that person be healed?i,am not saying none of you have
i,am just i believe that the lord said that we are
not to judge one another but by the fruit.i,am not sure but just by the fruit of the words own this page it seems to me that there is some judging going on.and anyway why are we all so consumed with every one else?let God judge.let God to his job.what good are your
words on this page going to do?Seek ye first the Kingdom of God.if we were to solely seek his face we would realize that thats all we have to do,He (GOD) will take care of all things.what was Jesus trying to show us when he called Peter out on the water?why did Peter begin to sink in the water?the reason for this is Peter had lost sight of the son of God.just in a brief moment of taking his eyes off the son of God he began to sink.stop looking at Tod or anyone else and start looking at the Father.

  41. RMASS – Did you know Christians are SUPPOSED TO JUDGE those who claim to be Christians but harbor wickedness?

1 Corinthians 5:9-13 (New American Standard Bible)

    9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people;

10 I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world.

11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler–not even to eat with such a one.

12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church?

13 But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.

RMASS, is what Todd Bentley saying in the video at the top of this post of God, yes or no?

Job, I am very certain, Todd Bentley could shoot someone and masses would defend him.

This is probably irrelevant, but I have to disagree with Rahabsplace as to whether or not crucifixion is the most brutal form of execution.

Being burned alive at the stake over a slow fire would seem worse to me. So would being impaled where a tapered pole is inserted in the anus of the condemned and then raised slowly into a vertical position . . . that would seem worse to me. Being skinned alive, being tied down over an anthill and eaten alive . . . both would be pretty bad.

I’ve always been bothered that Jesus didn’t use his magical powers on that occasion. Why?

And just what god had to be bought off by the so-called sacrifice? Didn’t the whole thing–if it really occurred–amount to child sacrifice?

The story just doesn’t make any sense at all. So why do people believe it? Or do they, really?

  43. David L. Williams said

Yes, Fred, people do believe the Gospel. You need to know the whole Gospel to understand it. The following is not the whole Gospel, but it is to directly answer your questions. First, Jesus was predestined from the foundation of the world to die for our sins and iniquity. This was also predicted to be done on a “tree.” (Another name for the cross.) God knew the way man would go and provided a way of redemption, even before it was needed.

Jesus did not have “magical” powers, as such. He IS THE POWER that created the universe. So yes, He could have avoided the cross, but He chose to take our place as an innocent “lamb” sacrifice, and be slain in our place.

I suggest you look into it deeper than you have, and find the whole truth. Your eternity depends on it. DavWms

God can use anyone and Jesus told his disciples not to rebuke some of the people they weren’t happy about who went around in his name, without authorization. But God will separate the chaff from the wheat AND we were told by Paul to judge other Christians and not even eat with them if they won’t turn from sin, if actively engaging in it. I stopped ever watching or reading Todd Bentley due to his fruit, as in the way he treated his wife and children, divorcing instead of working on reconciliation and then immediately marrying one of his staff members. I read that Jim Joyner has restored him already to ministry, but I watched some of those videos of Joyner and Bentley and all I saw was excuses, not repentance. So frankly, I am afraid it them as false prophets so I stay away from them. I do wish him the best and know that God is in the Restoration business. But only when we have genuine repentance, and usually God takes some time to work on us before releasing us back in to ministry. BTW the video on this link is no longer available.
