Abortion Is Racist Population Control Against Blacks AND BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES SUPPORT IT!

Posted by Job on April 29, 2008

From Breaking Christian News and The Tedland Daily Exposer. Anonymous phone calls to abortion clinics seem to substantiate the charges of ethnic cleansing of African-Americans by Planned Parenthood.

For years, accusations have been made regarding what can only be described as diabolically chilling racism at the heart of Planned Parenthood. In an October 2005 issue of Life Issues Institute, for example, Susan W. Enouen, P.E., writes: “Since the legalization of abortion in 1973, African Americans have taken a disproportionate blow to their population growth. Although today there are thirty-four million African Americans in the US, fourteen million unborn black American babies have been aborted since 1973, representing over one-fourth of their potential population. Today, blacks account for 12.3% of the American population, but African American women receive 36% of the abortions and are three times more likely than white women to have an abortion. The sad fact is, more African American babies have been killed by abortion since 1973 than the total number of African American deaths from AIDS, violent crimes, accidents, cancer and heart disease combined.”

“One key factor that has contributed to this tragedy,” says Enouen, “is the lasting influence of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Sanger began the ‘Negro Project’ in 1939 to promote birth control as a solution to the poverty and degradation experienced, at that time, by blacks in general. Sanger was a strong proponent of birth control for the ‘unfit’ in society, who she believed should be discouraged from reproducing. Sanger sought to prevent the growth of certain segments of society, including blacks, through legislation or easy availability of sterilization and birth control. She recognized that these efforts might be seen as an attempt at racial genocide, and that the best approach must include recruiting and training African American doctors and ministers to help with the project.”

“Margaret wrote in a letter to Clarence Gamble dated October 19, 1939, ‘The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.’ She convinced black leaders that birth control and sterilization would ‘improve the welfare of the Negro population,’ and she enlisted their help in a mission to reduce maternal and infant mortality through birth control (as opposed to better prenatal and medical care). Thus began an undeniable effort to limit the growth of the African American population, irrespective of the intent.”

Just this month, on April 11, 2008, the Christian Post reported that a pro-life student group at UCLA released a series of shocking videos they claim proves that Planned Parenthood is still carrying out racially targeted abortions.

Today, BCN subscriber Pastor Brian Noble of Sandpoint Assembly of God in Sandpoint, Idaho, passed along an audio clip in which phone calls to Planned Parenthood were taped to authenticate these charges. Pastor Noble felt strongly that the Body of Christ at large needs to be made aware of this horrific practice. We agree wholeheartedly.

*My note: conservative Republican Christians, please remember that the GOP Congress and George W. Bush have had many opportunities to stop the $300 million that goes to Planned Parenthood annually but have refused. You had the GOP control of the Senate from 1980 – 1986, the Republican Congress from 1994 – 2006, and the Bush White House from 2000 until now. So Christians, always know whose side you are on. This issue was the main reason why I left the Republican Party in 2006: I realized that they were pro – abortion too! And as for you Barack HUSSEIN Obama supporters, this fellow supports the genocide of his own people. That the Clintons are aggressively pro – murder goes without saying. John McCain? He told the San Francisco Chronicle in 1999 that he would not seek to overturn Roe v. Wade. If I know this, John Hagee, Rod Parsley, and the rest of the religious right know this, yet they supported Bush and will support McCain anyway … and as far as black liberation theologists James Cone and Jeremiah Wright, apparently liberating the race means murdering it off, as both aggressively support abortion.

Biblical Liberation Theology

Posted by Job on April 29, 2008

I was recently amused by Jeremiah Wright’s assertion that his remarks were controversial only because America is unaccustomed to liberation theology. Allow me to disagree with Wright on this one point, because biblical Christians have always known the true meaning of liberation theology. Please access my take on the subject, written a couple of years ago, by accessing the link below.

Jesus Camp: Bewitching Our Children With False Doctrines

Posted by Job on April 29, 2008

When I first started this website, I enthusiastically endorsed Jesus camps, thinking that they were an excellent way to turn children into spiritual warriors – as it WAS initially a charismatic spiritual warfare site – from an early age. Well … WOW WAS I WRONG! Jesus camps use the evil combination of spiritually seductive charismatic slain in the spirit frenzy and dominion theology politics. Instead of teaching children to pray for their enemies, to show kindness to the poor and elderly people, to interpret the Bible and discern doctrines, to worship and praise the Lord in a dignified manner becoming His glory, and to exhibit the fruits of the Holy Spirit, these folks are feeding these children false Christian doctrines and fascist notions of merging church, state, culture, etc. that will makes any of them that internalize this spiritual evil easy pickings for the anti – Christ and moreover very willing workers in the plot to create the climate where the man of sin will take power. The more things like this come out, as well as things with the Jesus Seminar, Mike Huckabee, Jeremiah Wright … Bible believing Christians have to start speaking out. There is something seriously wrong with both the religious right and the religious left, and we have to start boldly opposing it with the Word of God.

Watch this video below and pray for these children … and for their parents. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7157148037183248346

Murdered By False Doctrine: Girl Dies Because Parents Pray Rather Than Take Her To Hospital

Posted by Job on April 28, 2008

I am a born again Christian who has personally experienced faith healing and spiritual deliverance – meaning demons actually literally cast out of me – who is a former Pentecostal Holiness charismatic (as a matter of fact I am still investigating if any Pentecostal doctrines can be articulated and practiced within the context of Reformed theology). But people, what you will see in the link below IS NOT CHRISTIANITY BUT FALSE DOCTRINE:

www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/04/28/prayer.death.ap/index.html

You see that CNN, whom I loathe, has this listed as a crime. Despite my disdain for CNN, I must say that they have it correct: A CRIME WAS DONE TO THIS YOUNG GIRL THANKS TO FALSE RELIGION AND IT WAS A CRIME AGAINST JESUS CHRIST!

This is man – centered abomination posing as Christianity. True Christianity is God – centered where man serves God, and not the other way around. Who are we to say that God must do as we see fit in the way that see fit? Who are we to say that God must act according to our will and command? Is God our slave? Is God our trained pet? Anathema! Blasphemy? Heresy! Ichabod! God is sovereign, and we serve Him! Yet these people tried to make God their slave and the price was their little girl. These evil wicked people deprived this girl of the opportunity to serve God, and God of this girl’s service.

What makes these people believe that God cannot heal through doctors? Through medicines? That God cannot act on mankind’s behalf through general revelation and common grace? Why do these so – called Christians keep needing God to part the Red Sea over and over again before they will believe and have faith? Faith is the substance of things NOT SEEN! If there were miracles that we recognized as such all the time, we would not need faith! Or more accurately, we would not recognize them as miracles. That is precisely what happened to the children of Israel in the desert. They received manna every single day so that it became routine for them. They got it every day, so they forgot how miraculous God’s provision was for them. And because they forgot about God feeding them every day was a miracle, they forgot that God’s taking them out of Egypt was a bigger miracle. So since they forgot about the manna miracle and the Egypt miracle, they did not trust that God would deliver them into the promised land.

So it was in the time of Jesus Christ. He had spent so long performing so many miracles that had never been done before that the people had gotten bored. They had gotten used to it. So they said “Perform a miracle or give us a sign, and then we will believe that You are the Messiah!” And this is the key. They were not asking Jesus Christ to do some new thing. They would have accepted any of the old things that He had done before that they had gotten used to. Merely casting out another demon. Merely healing another leprous person. Merely raising someone else from being paralyzed, or even from the dead. What was it to them? Just another person with leprosy! Just another quadriplegic. Just another woman’s dead son. Who cares about PEOPLE and what they are going through? The important thing is you obeying our command! Don’t you people realize that what the children of Israel in the desert and the children of Israel in the time of Jesus Christ – stiff necked people – were trying to do? They were tempting the God of heaven by attempting to make Him obedient and subservient to THEM! They were trying to make God their dog! Roll over! Go fetch! Shake! Now here’s a treat for you, my confession of faith and my vain conditional service! Well, just as natural Israel was stiff – necked in the desert and in the time of Jesus Christ, spiritual Israel, the church, has been stiff – necked ever since.

And so it was with these people. Because they did not recognize that every second that God had saw fit to give their daughter on this earth was a miracle, they chose not to preserve that miracle by taking their child to the doctor for routine medical care that could have saved her life. What were they trying to prove? Their own faith? God’s existence? Would God’s healing their child THEIR WAY AT THEIR COMMAND have proven either? Did His withholding Himself from being their servant disprove it?

So now, let us pray for these poor misguided souls. Father God in the Name of Jesus Christ, please may Dale and Leilani Neumann believe in You as You have revealed Yourself through the Bible, and may they serve You as You desire to be served. Amen.

THE TV AND MOVIE INDUSTRY AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON PEOPLE’S LIVES PART 2

Posted by Job on April 28, 2008

 www.liveprayer.com/signup.cfm

Some of the great movies of all time would never even be made today! A year
ago on Easter Sunday, I was able to enjoy some down time watching the back
nine of the Masters. Congratulations to Zack Johnson for holding off Tiger
Woods and winning one of golf’s most prestigious tournaments. Johnson took
several opportunities to let a worldwide TV audience know that his faith in
Jesus Christ sustained him in those final holes. After chatting with several
good friends who are on the PGA Tour, it turns out that Zack is not only a
great golfer, but a very committed Christian. How fitting his great victory
came on Easter Sunday!

After my wife and I ate some dinner, I sat down to catch up on some of the
day’s news before going to bed. In scrolling thru the stations, I stopped on
AMC (American Movie Classics). Just starting was the 1937 classic movie
“Heidi” starring Shirley Temple. Instead of going to bed, I got my wife and
we watched this great movie classic together. Immediately following, we
watched another Temple classic “Little Miss Broadway.” As I sat there and
enjoyed these two great movies, I couldn’t help to think that if someone was
trying to make those exact movies today in the year 2008, they would be
laughed out of the offices of every major motion picture studio.

Let me tell you what are some of the hottest movies the major motion picture
studios have put out recently. The Hills Have Eyes 2, Grindhouse, 300, Dead
Silence, Hannibal Rising, Hostel 2, and Saw 3. What do these movies all have
in common? They make the studios tons of cash and they are some of the
sickest, most disgusting movies ever created depicting human torture,
mutilation, and killing. I already know the standard answer from those who
support these types of movies is that it is not real, it is just a movie, it
is entertainment, and that nobody was really tortured and killed. I counter
that weak justification with the simple question, “What possible good can a
person gain by watching such a movie?”

The answer is simple, NOTHING! I would also add that anyone who is
“entertained” by watching a person being tortured, mutilated, and killed,
has some very serious psychological issues. It is simply not normal to find
anything entertaining in seeing a person being tortured, mutilated and
killed. This is partially a byproduct of the world we live in that places
little to no value on human life. We slaughter 4,000 innocent babies every
day in this nation. Children grow up playing video games where the goal is
to kill your opponent. The media is feeding young adults a steady diet of
death on TV, in the movies, on the Internet, and through music. It is no
wonder kids today grow up desensitized to death and place little value of
human life.

I think it is wonderful that the movie studios are producing more family
friendly movies. It is nice to have those options. While people of faith,
people who support more traditional family values will go to see those types
of movies, the very same studios also produce the sexual, violent,
mutilation films that glorify death because there is an insatiable demand
for those types of movies. The lost and hurting masses who choose to reject
Christ’s love, live in rebellion to God and His Word, have so hardened their
hearts that they demand more blood, more gore, more sensational ways to view
death. Never forget, satan is about death and God is about life. Those who
follow satan embrace death and those who follow Jesus embrace life, even in
the movies they watch!

Long gone are the innocent days of Shirley Temple. In just a few generations
we have gone from the wholesomeness of Temple to the utter depravity of
movies graphically depicting every kind of deviant sexual act and ways to
kill another human being. As I watched those two Shirley Temple movies that
Sunday, I smiled as little Shirley knelt by her bed and said her prayers, as
her grandfather read passages from the Bible, and the scenes of a church
service complete with a few minutes of sound preaching and the great old
hymns of the faith. The sad reality of the year 2008 is that you won’t even
find that in most so-called churches today!!!

You don’t have to have any history degrees to simply look at where this
nation was spiritually 70 years ago and where it is today. While things
weren’t perfect, we still lived in a nation that honored God and revered His
Truth. Even though we had many different denominations, all Christian
churches still preached the Bible and called sinners to repent and turn
their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ by faith. Sin was not glorified and
accepted but condemned. Alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography all existed,
but they were deemed as deviant behavior not socially acceptable. False
religions and cults were not given a place of prominence but kept
underground.

Marriage was without question one man and one woman for one lifetime, with
there being a huge stigma to divorce. Most children grew up in a home with a
mother and father, unlike most children today who grow up in broken and
blended homes. TV, radio, and the movies produced wholesome family
entertainment with strict standards of decency. Many say we have progressed
over the past 70 years. I agree that we have progressed in every way but the
most critical, SPIRITUALLY! You don’t have to be saved, read the Bible, or
even believe in God to know that as a nation, as a people, we are in
spiritual free fall!

I love you and care about you so much. As I layed in bed Sunday night, I
couldn’t go to sleep right away. I wanted to cry but couldn’t. We have
become a wicked people. Millions of people are spending eternity in hell
because we have allowed our society to lose sight of God, forget the Truth
of His Word, and reject the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. As someone
who has committed my life to serving the Lord I weep daily for this nation
and the lost masses who will perish and spend eternity in hell. I am
resigned to the fact that this nation is so lost, its heart so hardened,
that it will never turn back to God. But that only motivates me to do more
each day to reach those who are hurting, are searching for answers, and do
want to find true hope that only exists in a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ..

You see, it is still about souls my friend. One at a time. Yes it would be
wonderful to see this nation fall on its knees and repent and turn back to
God. If that happens praise God. However, those who know the Lord can still
make a huge impact on millions of lives who without Jesus will spend
eternity in hell. We have great hurdles to overcome, great obstacles to
clear, but with God’s strength we can overcome those hurdles and obstacles
and be victorious in bringing in that last great harvest of souls before our
Lord returns.

The contrast between the Shirley Temple movies of a generation gone by and
the graphic mutilation and death movies of today demonstrate how far we have
fallen as a people. But it is still about each individual soul, and knowing
how many souls will be lost forever should be all the motivation the child
of God needs to give all they have to reach as many as they can with the
Truth of God’s Word and the hope and love of Jesus Christ. The time is
short, Jesus is coming, and the lost masses are out there waiting for
someone to reach them. It is time to get serious and busy about bringing
these lost souls the hope they yearn for and helping them find the peace,
joy, and everlasting life that only comes from knowing Jesus!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller bkeller@liveprayer.com

THE TV AND MOVIE INDUSTRY AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON PEOPLE’S LIVES PART 1 OF 2

Posted by Job on April 28, 2008

www.liveprayer.com/signup.cfm

The TV and movie industries which have a huge influence over tens of millions of people’s lives, including
many Christians. The Bible talks about the “renewing of our mind,” something
we all need to do on a daily basis through His Word. What we watch and hear,
DOES make a difference in how we think and act. What you allow yourself to
watch and listen to IS a big deal. As you read the Daily Devotional today
and tomorrow, be in prayer about what YOU watch and listen to on a daily
basis. For many of you, God is speaking to your heart about this issue.

People love the HBO series the “Sopranos” for the same reason they love “The
Godfather” trilogy. Even 35 years after it was released, “The Godfather”
starring Marlon Brando is one of the most popular movies ever made. So what
makes “The Godfather” movies, other organized crime movies like
“Goodfellas,” “Donnie Brasco,” “Carlito’s Way,” and “Scarface” such a hit
with people? After all, these are movies where the lead characters are part
of organized crime, men who spend their life killing, stealing, cheating,
and destroying other people’s lives. They are involved in illegal businesses
such as bookmaking, prostitution, extortion, selling drugs, and any other
illegal activity you can name.

THESE ARE MEN WHO LIVE THEIR LIVES IN COMPLETE REBELLION TO GOD AND HIS
WORD, SO WHY ARE THEY SO POPULAR? PEOPLE LOVE SIN MORE THAN THEY LOVE GOD!!!

The popularity of these fictional crime bosses like Tony Soprano can be
directly linked to the popularity of the real-life crime bosses like Charles
“Lucky” Luciano, Myer Lansky, and Bugsy Siegel who ran New York in the ’30s,
to Al Capone who ran Chicago in the ’30s, to all the men who ran the various
families across the nation throughout the decades. Men like Giancana,
Marcello, Trafficante, Genovese, Gambino, Bonanno, Lucchese, Colombo,
Accardo, and Gotti to name just a few. People have always had a fascination
with these men who loved to portray themselves as “businessmen” and “family
men,” yet in reality lived brutal and evil lives.

Hollywood and television are largely responsible for how we look at these
criminals. They have glorified and glamorized the lives of these men, often
turning them into sympathetic figures. The movies and television have showed
the human side of these men while almost justifying and excusing what their
life is really about. Make no mistake my friend, these are cold,
calculating, evil, and brutal men who without conscience or mercy spend
their lives killing and destroying others. There is absolutely nothing
glamorous or redeeming about how they live. There is nothing special about
them. They are simply men who have chosen to live a life of crime and live
in violation of society’s laws as well as God’s!

I am going to share some things from my personal life that I have never
shared publicly in all of these years. After the initial success of my
marketing business in 1979, I moved to Chicago in 1980 and that became the
headquarters of my fast growing network of companies throughout the nation
and Canada. A close business associate had introduced me to a law firm in
Chicago that I would use to help me set up my various companies over the
years. The lawyer I met with was a man named Jack Cerone, Jr. who actually
specialized in labor law, so he referred me to one of his partners, Joe
DiNatale, to handle my legal needs. Little did I know that Jack Cerone’s
father was the infamous John “Jackie the Lackey” Cerone, who was actually
the Don of the Chicago outfit (what the Mafia is called in Chicago).

In 1985, my attorney Joe DiNatale would represent Jackie Cerone, Sr. when he
and several other leading mobsters would go on trial in Kansas City for
skimming millions out of Las Vegas casinos. Jackie Cerone, Sr. was convicted
in that trial and would spend the rest of his life in a Federal Prison. I
was very close to DiNatale in the ’80s, and often when we were alone at
dinner he would share some of the stories of what really went on in the
world of organized crime. He often referred to it as “unorganized crime,”
and in reality it was nothing at all like the world portrayed in the movies
or on television.

These were mostly uneducated street criminals who killed, stole, and cheated
people as their life’s work. Those who rose to positions of power usually
did so by attrition, since in the world they lived in you either ended up in
prison or dead. Those who were able to escape those two fates the longest
become the “boss.” Over the years organized crime diversified from their
traditional illegal businesses into legitimate businesses that would become
fronts for many of their criminal activities.

However, in the ’80s new laws that turned what used to be 2-3 year prison
sentences into 20-30 year sentences, encouraged people inside organized
crime who once would “honor the code” and do their time, to now cooperate
and testify against those they worked for. Also, the new technology that
made wiretaps and tracking people possible, gave the Federal Government
tools to gather information they never could in the past. Today, the Mafia
as we know it still exists and always will to some extent, but doesn’t have
anywhere near the influence it used to and thankfully never will again.

When I was indicted in December of 1989 for insider trading, I was denied
bond for fear I would leave the country and was held at the Metropolitan
Correctional Center in downtown Chicago to await trial sometime in late
1990. I was at the MCC from the first week in January in 1990 until October
of 1990. It was there on August 20, 1990 that I rededicated my life to the
Lord and finally gave God the one and only thing He had ever wanted from me,
and that was my life completely and unconditionally surrendered to Him. My
friend, today that is the only thing God wants from you, your life,
completely and unconditionally surrendered to Him.

God began to work in my life. Within a week of rededicating my life to the
Lord, my attorney was able to work out a plea agreement with the government
that called for me to plead guilty and spend the next 22 months at a minimum
security Federal Prison in Pensacola, Florida. If you have never heard my
testimony, you can go to the link below and read all about it. It is a story
I have told to millions worldwide over the years as a tribute to God’s grace
and mercy in my life, giving Him all glory and honor for what He has done
for me. Let me encourage you today that what God has done for me, He will do
for you!!! http://www.weeklyplanet.com/2003-12-04/cover.html

While I was being housed at the MCC in downtown Chicago, in February of
1990, the Federal government indicted Ernest Rocco Infelise, who at the time
was the head of the Chicago Outfit, and several of his top lieutenants,
including reputed mob hit man Harry Aleman. They were obviously denied bond
and also housed at the MCC awaiting their trial, and were assigned to live
on the same floor I was on. I spent the next 8 months living with these
guys. There are no secrets in a prison environment, and they found out that
Joe DiNatale was my attorney, so I was one of the few people on the floor
they interacted with. Many nights we would be in the dining area, and they
would talk about their lives and experiences. They would never get specific,
but it was enough to know that these were men who lived lives of crime from
their youth and really only knew and understood that world.

Obviously, I was fortunate enough to never make the choices to become
involved in that type of life or be part of the world of organized crime.
However, I have had enough contact with those who were in that world to know
there is nothing glamorous about it. It is a very dark, cold, evil world
that operates in complete and total rebellion to God. No matter how much
Hollywood cleans it up, no matter how appealing they make it appear, it is
nothing but a world of destruction. Those who choose to be part of that
world have their lives destroyed. Those who get caught up in their world
have their lives destroyed. At the end of the day, NOBODY WINS BUT SATAN!

I love you and care about you so much. This message today is really a
warning to you. A warning to keep your guard up at all times and not allow
Hollywood and the television industry to cause you to fall into the trap of
glorifying evil no matter how attractive they make it appear. The media
already does a masterful job at glamorizing sin. Sexual sins of every kind
are promoted as fun and exciting with no consequences. Drinking and drug use
are also glorified by the media. So it is no surprise that the media will
try to sanitize sins like murder, robbing, and whatever kind of evil one man
can perpetrate on another you can think of.

I will be praying for you today to take a stand in your life from letting
the world lie to you and lead you into the trap of sitting back and giving
approval to evil by viewing it. Yes, I know the “Sopranos” is a fictional
story, but what they portray is the real life evil and horrors of those who
are part of the world of organized crime. No, you are not going to hell or a
horrible Christian if you watch the “Sopranos” and shows like it. However,
our goal as we mature in Christ is to be more like Him. The Bible talks
about the “renewing of our mind.” A great computer term is “garbage in,
garbage out.” Why would you want to pollute your mind with murder, adultery,
physical violence, and a myriad of other sinful activities?

The problem with a program like the “Sopranos,” the problem with so much of
what is on television today and in the movies, is that they glorify and
glamorize sin. Can you tell me anything glamorous about the sins you have
committed in your life? Can you tell me how glamorous the consequences of
your sins are? That is the point my friend. Sin is NOT glamorous. It is
destructive! The consequences of our sins are very real and very painful.
Watching sin, even in a fictional format, is not something a follower of
Christ should be doing. Why do people love the “Sopranos?” Simple, they love
sin more than they love God!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller bkeller@liveprayer.com

Are You Sanctified?

The goal of every person that has given their hearts and lives to Jesus
Christ MUST BE to become more like Him each day. This is one of those days
when you are going to have to stop all that you are doing, and really listen
to and pray about what I am going to share with you. As a matter of fact, I
want you to take a moment right now, stop all that you are doing, and ask
the Lord to prepare your heart for these words today. Today, I want to
challenge you to become more like Jesus.

Sanctification is a process that begins after salvation. The theological
definition is God’s gracious and powerful work of making a person holy in
heart and conduct through the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit,
applying the death and resurrection of Christ to that person, so he
increasingly dies to sin and lives unto righteousness. It is a never-ending
process throughout the life of a believer that makes them become more like
Jesus each day.

This process does not happen by accident. You do not get saved one day and
are like Jesus the next. IT TAKES WORK TO BE LIKE JESUS! What is the best
way to become like someone? Spend time with them. If you want to be like
Jesus, you have to spend time with Jesus! To be like someone, you not only
have to invest time into being with them, you must carefully watch them, see
how they act, see how they talk, see how they deal with situations they are
faced with. To be like someone, you have to study their life.

Hollywood actors that play the life of a real person will spend months and
months studying that person. They will read everything they can find about
them. They will watch endless hours of video. If the person is still living,
they will often go to physically be with that person for an amount of time.
They will spend countless hours becoming that person. If a Hollywood actor
is willing to invest all of that time and energy just to play a role in a
movie, how much more should we be willing to invest our time and energy into
becoming more like Jesus to fulfill our God-given purpose in this life?

You do this by spending time every day with the Lord in prayer. You do this
by spending time every day in God’s Word. You do this by being part of a
local church where you are not only fed spiritually, but find fellowship
with other believers, and for many, find avenues to serve the Lord. Like any
relationship, the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it. The
more time you spend with the Lord, the more you will become like the Lord.

What I am challenging you to do today is this. Spend some time in prayer and
isolate ONE AREA of your life that needs to be more like Jesus. EVERYONE
reading this today has at least one area of their life that they would like
to make more like Jesus. For each person, that area will be something
different. If you will take some time and pray, God will show you exactly
what that area is, though I am sure most already know exactly what area of
your life that God is calling you to work on.

Take the next 30 days and focus specifically on making the area of your life
God is convicting you about more like Jesus. The first question is how would
Jesus handle this area of His life. Study the Word, pray, God will show you.
The goal then is to work hard over the next 30 days, spend a few days
fasting, make it your prayer focus, to making that area of your life God
shows you more like Jesus.

I love you and care about you so much. I will be praying for you today. I
want you to take this challenge seriously, and between now and the 24th of
May, work hard on making whatever area of your life God showed you to be
more like Jesus. Becoming like Jesus is not something that happens
overnight. As a matter of fact, once we get the victory over one area of our
life, God will show us another area that needs work. No matter how long you
walk with the Lord, no matter how close to the Lord you may become, there
will ALWAYS be areas of your life that you need to work on. May God give you
His strength and wisdom over these next 30 days as you work on becoming more
like Jesus!

“Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy,
and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk,
so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted
that the Lord is good. As you come to him, the living Stone — rejected by
men but chosen by God and precious to him — you also, like living stones,
are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering
spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:1-5

Evangelicalism: Marketing Salvation Like Cell Phones

Posted by Job on April 28, 2008

(Galatians 2:20; 1 Corinthians 6:20; Matthew 16:24-25)

In our narcissistic, “What’s in it for me?” culture, we have learned how to
market salvation to the masses like we do cell phones, cars, and hamburgers.
In our zeal to win people for Christ, we have been very careful to focus on
the benefits of salvation, making sure people understood all the reasons why
this is a good choice, while being too afraid to tell them the WHOLE plan of
salvation. We sell salvation just like the late-night infomercials sell
weight-loss pills, whipping people into an emotional frenzy by hyping all
the benefits of getting saved, but never explaining to them the FULL COST of
getting saved. The “fine print” in the salvation message is not what we get
but what we GIVE!

I am saddened when I hear people share the Gospel, giving people an
invitation to know Christ, but never really explain what a person is
actually doing. Please don’t misunderstand me, I am grateful for everyone
who shares the Gospel, gives people the opportunity to come to know Christ
as their Savior, but my point today is that we MUST tell them the complete
truth about what they are doing. When a person makes the decision to accept
Christ into their heart and life by faith, they are surrendering their life
to Him. It is called giving your heart and life to Jesus because that is
exactly what you are doing. From that moment on, your life no longer belongs
to you, it belongs to Jesus. That is the critical part of the salvation
message so many fail to tell people.

We are quick to point out that if you accept Jesus you will have the
assurance of everlasting life with God your Creator. That is true. It is our
faith in Christ, the One who died for our sins that allows us to be
reconciled with a Holy God and know that when our brief journey through life
is over we will be with Him for all eternity. We also make sure people
understand the tremendous benefits of being saved. At that moment, the Holy
Sprit indwells a Believer to supply them with the power of Almighty God. By
accepting Christ as your Savior you have peace and joy in your life that is
impossible to know otherwise. You come to realize that your life has meaning
and purpose and experience the abundance of this life that Jesus promised.
All of these things are true and need to be pointed out.

It is easy to see why people would want to be saved. Most people on the
planet can accept that there is a Supreme Being or God out there. It is not
hard for anyone who is honest to admit they have sinned, so asking for your
sins to be forgiven makes sense. Even the heathen with the hardest heart
will admit that one day he will die. Everyone knows that is a day each one
of us will face. So, accepting Jesus by faith to have the assurance that
when this life is over you will go to Heaven and not Hell is a logical
choice to make. To also have the Holy Spirit living within you, know a
special peace and joy, have a purpose in life and experience its abundance,
all makes the decision to accept Christ very attractive and really something
only a foolish person would turn down.

So people make that eternal choice to accept Jesus by faith and nothing
really changes. They wake up the next morning in the same bed, the same
house. They have the same family and friends. They go to the same school and
have the same job. They have all the same problems they did the night
before, and maybe even a few new ones. They do all the same things. Even
though the Bible proclaims that they are “Born again,” that they are a “New
creature in Christ,” that the “Old has passed away,” their real, practical,
day-to-day lives have not changed. This is why so many people who accept
Christ are truly saved, but they never grow in their new faith and many of
them see very little change in their life from BS (before being saved), to
AS (after being saved).

The reason is when they got saved, what was left out or never really
explained to them was the complete story of accepting Christ as their
Savior. The part of the salvation experience that is often left out and
never properly explained to people is the fact that when you accept Christ
into your heart and life by faith you are giving your life to Him. It is an
act of sacrifice and surrender, two words that most people want no part
of.That is why this most critical element of what it means to be saved is
never really spoken about. The bottom line is, when you get saved you are
surrendering your life to Jesus Christ. Your life no longer belongs to you,
it belongs to the Lord. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice when He literally
gave His life in payment for your sins, and when you get saved, you are
making a sacrifice of your life to Him.

This is so important since it goes to the very core of what being a
Christian, a follower of Christ, is all about. We have sacrificed,
surrendered our life to Jesus. Our life is no longer our own but now belongs
to Him. All we do, where we go, everything regarding our life is now in the
Lord’s control. When you get saved, you are literally giving Him your life.
That is why so many who know Christ live without His peace, without His joy,
without any real purpose, without the victory, because they have refused to
fully surrender their lives to Him. That is why most of the false religions
of the world are so popular. You simply accept their false teachings but you
can still live your life anyway you want to. When you become a follower of
Jesus, your very life now belongs to Him.

I love you and care about you so much. That is why even though Liveprayer
reaches a massive audience each day through the Internet and on t.v. and we
have people accepting Christ as their Savior every single day, we do our
very best to first make sure they understand that in asking Jesus into their
heart and life by faith they are literally surrendering their life to Him,
that their life now belongs to Jesus. We send them a booklet that helps
guide them in the basics of their new faith, things like reading the Bible
and praying every day. We do our best to work with local churches to get
people plugged in so they can be properly discipled and start to grow in
their new faith.

When a person is saved, there is a supernatural change that happens to them
spiritually. It is now critical for that person to understand that their
life will never be the same again, that they are different now, and to help
them begin the process of transforming their mind and day-to-day life to be
a true follower of Christ. That doesn’t happen overnight, but over time. It
is that process of sanctification, or becoming more like Christ, that begins
at the moment a person is saved and continues to their very last breath. It
is vital that each person who knows Christ is not only being discipled by
someone more mature in the faith at all times, but that they are giving of
themselves to disciple someone who is younger in the faith at all times. We
can only grow in our faith as we are helped along by those who are more
mature, and we have that same responsibility to help those who are younger
in the faith grow in their relationship with the Lord.

I will be praying for you today. Praying that as you share the Gospel with
people like our Lord has commanded all of His children to do, that you will
clearly highlight the benefits of being saved, but not leave out the fact
that being saved also includes surrendering our very lives to the Lord. We
are actually cheating people by NOT telling them the whole story, since our
purpose in life, the fullness of our peace and joy in knowing Christ, the
true abundance of this life, can never be fully experienced unless we have
unconditionally surrendered our life to Christ. Getting saved is not just
about what we get, but it is also about what we GIVE-our life to Jesus
Christ!
