Peace Through the Blood of The Cross

BIBLE MEDITATION: “… having made peace through the blood of His cross.” Colossians 1:20

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: How can a cross bring peace if Jesus is the One hanging there? At the cross, wickedness was not appeased. Wickedness was confronted. At the cross, sin was not overlooked. At the cross, sin was atoned and paid for. God’s greatest righteousness confronted man’s greatest wickedness, and righteousness won and peace was attained through the blood of the cross. Thank God for the cross! Thank God for Jesus!

ACTION POINT: During this time of year, as you celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord, take a few moments to praise Jesus for the power and hope you have because of His resurrection.   share devotional with a friend    visit lwf.org

To think that some people may condemn us for emphasizing the importance of the Blood of Jesus. These are some verses showing its importance:

“…without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Hebrews 9:22

“To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father- to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.” Revelation 1:5b-6

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of Gods grace” Ephesians 1:7

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” 1 Peter 1:18,19

“Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him” Romans 5:9

Thank you Jesus for dying on the Cross. But the story didn’t end there you rose on the third day!

  2. Jonathan De Leon, what you have noted is true, but where in the Bible did an apostles of the Lord Jesus “plead the Blood of Jesus” on anything? If you can’t provide such evidence from scripture, why is “pleading the Blood of Jesus on…” a regular phrase in groups such as the one you are part of? When was the Blood of Christ a thing we could sling at anything? When did we saints acquire such COMMAND of the Blood of Christ that we can toss it at perceived “demons”?

Do you “bind the devil” too?

  3. Jonathan De Leon said

I was taught to do this, yes. What is interesting, though, is that Cesar Castellanos (G12) admitted that he was wrong on this issue. I had it on one of my podcasts. Castellanos was adressing the Church and told them it was not about wrestling the devil or fighting with him, but rather trusting God to rescue us. And confessing the power of the sacrifice of Jesus.

  4. And what about the “generational curses”?

What about the claims of “curses on finances” if someone does not give their money?

I’m surprised you would claim your false teaching leader has backed from the “plead the blood of Jesus on…” claim, when you asked if such should be used yourself in this other comment.

One second you’re the advocate and the next you’re the denouncer of the same thing. And you are a G12 trained “leader”.
