My note: This devotional was written by pastor and televangelist Bill Keller of Live Prayer. I had decided to stop posting Bill Keller’s devotionals that dealt with Mormonism for a time for reasons that I will not get into. But after seeing Glenn Beck exploit the death of Hinckley as an opportunity to promote his religion on CNN last night, I am making a one time exception to my policy. Please note: Keller is right when he says that there is no difference between Mormonism and Islam. So why is the religious right so much more tolerant of one than the other? You know that if Mitt Romney were Muslim, he’d have the same “he is part of a global Muslim conspiracy to take over our government” theories as are circulating about Barack HUSSEIN Obama. I will tell you the reason: race. Mormonism was founded by whites and in America is an overwhelmingly white religion, so they are not only tolerated by the religious right, but are fully embraced by them. Meanwhile, Islam is an Arab religion. That is why the same religious right hypocrites that went nuts over Keith Ellison merely being elected to Congress are actually praying for Mitt Romney to save them from Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, and John McCain (not that I support any of them either by the way). The way these conservatives, especially Roman Catholics, are claiming that Mitt Romney is the victim of oh so much bigotry after decades of using racism and segregation against BLACKS to build their own party would be hilarious if it wasn’t so evil. (By the way, check out this Roman Catholic pro – segregation site that claims that God never intended for Christianity to spread outside the white race … surprise surprise they like Romney.) It was as if they were saying “Hey evangelicals, Romney is one of us where it really counts, so vote your race, it is more important than your religion!” That is why the same folks on the right who continuously demand that blacks bear the discrimination that we face while picking and grinning about it start braying like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and the NAACP whenever Romney’s religion is discussed in any terms other than “oh we can trust Romney to save America because he is a devoted Mormon who believes in Jesus with a beautiful wife and five sons.” Well, again, anyone who doubts that Romney would use the White House to promote his faith not only in America but also overseas (the people that they falsely claim are the cursed seed of Ham and for that reason held them in second class status until 1978 – a fact which conservatives love I bet – apparently are a major mission field for them!) should view Glenn Beck’s performance below.

An evil tool of satan masquerading as a Godly grandfather is buring in hell
for all eternity! Gordon B. Hinckley, the leader of the satanic Mormon cult
is dead at 97. Hinckley saw this cult grow from 9 million members to over
13 million members worldwide during his 12-year reign as its leader. While
Hinckley is already being memorialized as a “great man of God,” the fact is
his life has been an instrument in the hands of satan to help lead the souls
of men to hell by following the false theology of the Mormon cult.

Many people, even Christians will rail against me for being so unkind, but
this only illustrates the problem we have. Even Believers don’t take the
eternal souls of men serious enough. As I state often, this is a battle for
souls. Satan is not playing games and is serious about taking as many souls
into the lake of fire with him as he can. I am saddened at how many
Christians either don’t understand, or don’t want to think about the FACT
that those who die without Jesus, the Jesus of the Bible, will pass from
this life into eternal punishment!

I know some people are outraged that I would be “so mean” to call Mormonism
a satanic cult. I receive emails all the time talking about the great works
they do. First, I have no doubt that most Mormons are fine people, good
people, and do great works. But being a good person and doing good works
does NOT get you into Heaven. Only faith in Jesus Christ, the Jesus of the
Bible, will get you into Heaven. The Mormon cult spends tens of millions of
dollars each year in public relations to portray themselves as “just another
Christian church.”

DO NOT LET THEIR ADS FOOL YOU. They are no more a Christian church than your
local mosque is!

The lie of Mormonism that I expose is not a new problem. Paul, himself, had
to deal with the issue of “cults”-those who perverted the Gospel-almost from
the very beginning. He spoke of it often in his writings, as in today’s
anchor verses in his letter to the church at Galatia. This is nothing new.

Here are just a few of the theological issues that makes the satanic Mormon
cult totally inconsistent with Biblical Christianity and why a Mormon is no
more a Christian than a Muslim is. The god of the Mormon cult is NOT the God
of the Bible. Their “god” is named Elohim and was once a man like you and I
who came from another planet. Mormon theology teaches that men can
eventually become a god and have their own planet. When a Mormon talks about
“god,” he is talking about this fictitious god of Mormonism and NOT the God
of the Bible!

This holds true for Jesus. The jesus of Mormon theology is not God incarnate
as the Bible teaches. The Mormon jesus was not supernaturally conceived by
the Holy Ghost, but the natural offspring of their “god” Elohim who had sex
with Mary, meaning he is a created being no different than you and I.
Mormons also teach that their jesus had several wives and children, again,
in compete contradiction to what the Bible teaches. The jesus of the Mormon
cult is also the spirit brother of Lucifer and will return not to the Mt. Of
Olives as the Bible teaches, but to Independence, Missouri to set up his
earthly Kingdom.

When a Mormon talks about “jesus,” he is NOT talking about the true Jesus of
the Bible! What Jesus you put your faith in is so critical, since this is
why anyone who puts their faith in the imaginary jesus of Joseph Smith and
the satanic Mormon cult will die in their sins and their souls burn forever
in the flames of hell!

What about the Bible and true Christian churches? Mormons love to use the
Bible and quote from the Bible to support their deception that they are
Christians. The trademark of all cults and false religions, even those who
use the Bible, is that it is NOT their final authority. In the Mormon cult,
their authority does not come from the Bible which they view as incomplete
and not reliable, but the writings of Smith, the Book of Mormon, the Pearl
of Great Price, and the Doctrine and Covenants. These are the writings that
form the false theology of this cult.

Mormons believe that non-Mormons are “abominations.” While they don’t have
the guts the Muslims do to publicly call a non-Muslim an infidel who should
be put to death, a Mormon views a Biblical Christian as part of a “false
religion” and void of all authority.

Like in all cults, the average member hasn’t got a clue what their cult
really believes. You only get to know everything after you have proven
yourself to be a loyal and worthy member of the cult. That is true in the
Mormon cult as well. Most Mormons go to their “church,” sing many of the
same hymns they sing at the Baptist church down the road, give their tithe,
read a few passages out of the Bible, hear a message about being a “good
person,” and go home.

It is only when you get to become a “temple Mormon” that you really learn
all of the deep, dark, beliefs of Mormonism. The Mormon temple rituals are
actually little more than the temple rituals Smith copied from another cult,
Freemasonry! Smith who was involved in the Masonic cult, simply copied and
incorporated their chants, handshakes, and ceremonies when he started the
Mormon cult. These are the same chants, handshakes, and ceremonies Romney
participated in when he took his oath to the Mormon cult above anything
else, INCLUDING THE U.S. GOVERNMENT AND CONSTITUTION!

The average person has no idea that the ultimate goal of the Mormon cult is
to establish a theocracy here in the United States. Joseph Smith, the cult’s
founder actually ran for the Presidency. So did Mitt Romney’s father. This
cult has the very real goal of establishing the “Kingdom of God,” which
means advancing the physical and earthly organization of the multi-billion
dollar Mormon cult.

There is a special room in the Mormon Temple located in Washington, DC that
has been prepared and in place for over 30 years, which will be the seat of
power for the Mormon-led government which will supplant our current
government. This was the vision Smith laid out less than 200 years ago, and
Mitt Romney and those in the hierarchy and leadership of the Mormon cult see
this as the time for that vision to become fulfilled!

I love you and care about you so much. Gordon B. Hinckley was NOT a great
“man of God,” but simply a tool of satan who used his life to lead millions
to the false teachings of the Mormon cult, meaning those poor souls died in
their sins and are in hell for all eternity along with all who reject the
Jesus of the Bible. He did not become a “god” upon his death as Mormons
believe. He didn’t get his own planet full of women waiting to have sex with
him. The moment he died, Hinckley stood before God and because he rejected
Jesus and died in his sins, was immediately cast into hell for all eternity!

I have done my best in a limited amount of time to give you a brief overview
of the false and satanic beliefs of the Mormon cult. I have just barely
scratched the surface, but just in what I have shared with you today, NOBODY
in their right mind could ever believe that a Mormon is a Christian. When
you study Mormon theology and understand the wild beliefs of Smith and this
cult, you need faith greater than I will ever hope to have to believe what
they do. There is no logic to it and there is absolutely nothing they
believe that has any basis in realty or can be proven.

Listen, God gave us free will, and men who live in rebellion to God since
the very beginning have dreamed up the wildest and most ridiculous religions,
and sadly people who were spiritually void chose to believe their lies and
will be lost for all eternity because of it. The danger of Mormonism is that
they are deceptive (just look at their name, the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints) and will lie without conscience just like the father of
lies, satan (John 8:44), to get people to join their cult.

I pray today for those 13 million souls alive today who are following the
lies of this cult, to turn from those lies before they take their last
breath and are lost for all eternity. There is only one Truth, and that is
found in the book God wrote, the Bible. There is only one way to be saved,
and that is through a personal relationship by faith with the Jesus of the
Bible. May those lost in the lies of the Mormon cult denounce those lies
and turn to God’s Word alone and faith in Jesus and be saved so they don’t
end up burning in hell like Gordon B. Hinckley!!!

  1. Job,

There are so many things that I want to say, but instead of making this complicated I want to start with just one thing (for now).

You call mormons racist because the black members could not hold the priesthood until 1978. (but they COULD be members, AND they were not forced)

Ok, YOU are a Christian right? How can you be ok with the fact that African Americans (slaves) were FORCED to convert to Christianity. Was this not racist? Was this ok?

  2. And when exactly did we Christians acknowledge any of those past racists as fellow Christians? Like Mormons, they said they were Christians, but their fruit proved otherwise.

While Mormons view all those racists in their camp as “prophets”.

    IC:

I think I am actually the guilty culprit that brought up the race issue in the Mormon Church and the example I used was the Black Scout that was refused Eagle Scout status as recent as 1978.

There was at least two LDSers who came here and denied that such ever existed; that it “must have been some renagade local authority, but, certainly not of the church” After providing the direct link neither ever came back.

I guess my point is my major point was missed by some readers. Slaves were brought to America some 400+ years ago, that is not to say that it was either right or pleasing to God. In the other case, with the LDS, that sin occurred less than 30 years ago. Regarding slavery, the Bible speaks on the relationship between slaves and masters in the OT and of course in the NT we have the example of Onesimus in Philemon.

Personally, if I were to make such a point, using the instant comparison, it stands to reason that my faith doctrine would predate the example, e.g., it is one thing to cite an example of something that started hundreds of years before, but the Mormon faith itself is only…how old? Not hundreds to be sure.

Finally, being a slve or a slave owner (I do not believe is going to keep one out of heaven); however, practicing Mormonisn definitely will!

    Be Blessed.

    Charles

  4. IC

I’m talking about how 200 years ago, the African slaves were FORCED to convert to Christianity.

These were white Christians who owned slaves, who forced them (the slaves) into something because they (the slave owners) wanted to control them (better). When the African Slaves were brought to America the were NOT Christians. They had their own religion and culture and the White Christians did not like it, so they FORCED them to convert. Sounds pretty dang racist to me, a lot more racist then the Mormons!

  5. Charles D. said

    IC

I guess I was unclear and I really want to be: Failure to believe in and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as one’s personal savior is the only thing that can keep a person out of heaven! And, believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, accepting Him as your Personal savior; not loving Him, not feeling warm and fuzzy inside when thinking about one’s own conceptualization of Christ, but actually accepting Him and Him only as your personal savior, that He is the Son of God, and that He died, was buried, then, resurrected and ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hind of the Father, then ABSOLITELY NOTHING can keep you out of heaven! Period! Not slave trading, slave marketing, or any other manner of sin, EXCEPT blaspheming the Holy Spirit (a sin unto death)!

Regarding the again, the premise is unbalanced, because Slavery is not a religion or a current happening, at least in Christiandom; where on the otherhand Mormonism are allof those things, plus. There are no comparison, as stated.

    Thanks IC, Be blessed,

    Charles

  6. You are missing the point.

It does not matter if it happened yesterday or 5,000 years ago.

AND the real point is that African Americans may not have choosen Christianity had they not been FORCED.

It is not about owning slaves it is about slaves being forced into a belief that they did not share. They had their own beliefs and rituals. had they been able to practice their beliefs this country would be much more diverse then it is now.

The point is the origin of African American Christianity comes from white men who forced them to practice THEIR religion.

So if I were you I would stop with the “racist” Mormon comments and take a good look at the history of the African American Christian history.

  7. Fran said

    Steff

From your own comments, the reasons that you stated, why would you condsider them to be true christians, true believers?

  8. Fran said

From the comments Charles made about the eagle scout, and your comments about the slaves being forced to convert to christianity, boils down to issues with the white man.

  9. Steffielynn, your deluded apostate Mormon view of matters prevents you from understanding a word I said before.

And when exactly did we Christians acknowledge any of those past racists as fellow Christians? Like Mormons, they said they were Christians, but their fruit proved otherwise.

Just as I say Benny Hinn is FALSE while some claim he is a Christian, I say the same of those early American businessmen who played off twisting scripture LIKE MORMONS to suit their evil lusts. They did it with slaves, Joseph Smith Junior did it with women he wanted in his bed. All false, not Christian at all.

In all this, you ignore how real Christians were doing missionary work on the African continent BEFORE European slave trading began. And let’s not forget Philip (a Christian, not a Mormon) who was led by God to take action that brought Christianity to Ethiopia.

    Acts 8:25-39 (King James Version)

25And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

26And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

27And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

28Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

29Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

30And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

32The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

33In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

34And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

35Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

39And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Now apostate, if you were not aware, this is how Ethiopia came to have its first Christian church, from that one man accepting Christ. The scripture says nothing of secret Mormon handshakes and other LDS junk.

Your efforts to speak of racists who lied about the Christian faith and twisted it for personal gain, is about as bad as YOU, who come here with lies and twisted doctrine and also claim you are Christian. The bottom line is that you both misrepresent the truth of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. You rejected a more sound doctrine to embrace a lie. Embracing a LIE that tells you that you’ll become a god, when you tread the same filthy water as Satan.

    Genesis 3:1-4 (King James Version)

1Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

And like a serpent Joseph Smith Junior started a lie telling you that you’ll become a god if you follow his false doctrine, you’ve eaten that rotten fruit.

Apostate, are you so upset that Romney lost Florida tonight AND now is behind in the delegate count, that you have resorted to this nonsense?

By the way, it was REAL CHRISTIANS who fought against slavery, not for it. Look up CS Spurgeon, William Wilberforce and the Christian Quakers who not only turned from evil, but pressed people like George Washington to do the same. Those were the kinds of people who made the slavery issue a part of the original Republican Party platform and they are the same kinds of Christians who laughed when Mormon Joseph Smith Junior ran for President! As I laugh at your LOSING IN DELEGATE COUNT buddy Romney. A man who lies about who his own father marched with for political gain!

My or my how Mormons lie!

Now you say that if someone believes on Jesus they are saved, however apostate YOU DON’T BELIEVE ON JESUS you follow a false christ. So don’t come here playing as if you can create some thing that was in a “pick me” contest with the devil and call it “Jesus”, because it’s not! Don’t come here saying “God” when you feel God has fathered Jesus and Satan as brothers via “celestial sex” with a fictitious spirit mother.

Yes if someone calls on the TRUE SON OF THE LIVING GOD they will be saved. This does not mean that many claim the Lord’s name while actually being workers of unrighteousness.

    Matthew 7:22-23 (King James Version)

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Those who use the Lord’s name in lies and deceit to get cheap labor are not the Lord’s. Not going to their graves with that kind of mind they are not. Neither are whore mongers who create a false god and a false jesus, to suit their lascivious appetite. Neither are those who follow such false teachers and die embracing such false doctrines, because THEY ALL FALL IN THE DITCH TOGETHER!

    Matthew 15:11-14 (King James Version)

11Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

12Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

13But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

14Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

You follow a blind man who burns in hell and should turn to the Jesus Christ of the Bible and trash those works of Joseph Smith Junior, because you’re heading for trouble.

    Luke 6:39-40 (King James Version)

39And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

40The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

You seem to FORGET what we do on this blog as well as my own. We help saints see those who claim the Lord’s name, but are FALSE, to avoid them, THAT WOULD INCLUDE MORMONS LIKE YOU, so don’t come here trying to put Brigham Young, Joseph Smith Junior and false doctrine holding slave traders up as people who stand for the cause of Christ.

Keep your poison “blessing”, I don’t want anything from the evil source you get your teaching from.

    The apostate says:

AND the real point is that African Americans may not have choosen Christianity had they not been FORCED.

The point is the origin of African American Christianity comes from white men who forced them to practice THEIR religion.

Now the lying apostate feels we who are true Christians are such because of prior force and not our being drawn to Christ by God. It is because the apostate does not understand how TRUE CHRISTIANS become that way.

    John 6:44 (King James Version)

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

We who know Christ were drawn to Him in truth and no will of man can prevent who God calls. Conversely, an apostate can never come to know the truth if God never actually calls them. If the Lord wills, the apostate will turn, but as usual not tonight.

Well Job, now you see why I never let this apostate say word 1 on my blog.

You absolutely astound me! Really! Their “rituals,” that in combination with “The point is the origin of African American Christianity comes from white men who forced them to practice THEIR religion.
So if I were you I would stop with the “racist” Mormon comments and take a good look at the history of the African American Christian history.” are the most racist analysis I have heard recently.

As a Black man this is not a conversation I will have, either with you, or by proxy. I will say this one thing: It would be much better for you (as you stand before God’s Seat of Judgment, if you had be forced to practice Mormonism, than to have voluntarily have condened yourself with the free miral agency that God so graciously have given you.

Your statement is so incredibly stupid, at first blush, my thoughts were that someone in your clandom provided you with so called “ammunition” not realizing he/she was sending you to fall on your own sword, as you have done. But please know this; I am not angry by your statement and I would in deed continue the dialogue, if for no other reason than to use as prima facie evidence, the very next time someone wants to debate race differences in intelligence.

The main reason I can’t take because I simply would not able to resist copying, then, taking it with me to the office and I have people there that would laugh their behinds off.

Steff if your last utterence even resemble a cohesive thought to you, then, maybe the case could be made that you have been psychologically indoctrinated and deprived by the Mormon. If they had a heart they would not allow you to do these things to yourself.

I do not mean this to be taken personally, but, I lie to you, not. At 4 years old my daughter could develop complete thoughts and articulate them. Today, she is a Ph.D candidate and practically knowsm the DSMII Manual, pervabtim. Would you object if I were to show her a few samples of your contributions to this site and ask for a diagnosis? It wouldn’t cost you a thing. I promise I will not do it without your consent.

    Stefflynn:

African Americans were not forced to accept the christian religion. This is not a white mans religion. It is for everyone who believes Jesus is Lord. For the black, white, yellow and green. I was going to point out that Phillip was used of God to spread the gospel into Africa, but I was beaten to the punch.
To be honest, as a African American male, I thank God christiany came the way it did.
As many african churches began to decline, and began to grow weak, Islam reared its head some 500 to 600 years later. It was also black and arabic muslim men who raided villages in order to capture slaves for the market. Did you know the Zulu were the only race that refused to sell their own people? Everyone else did it for money. We have to stop blaming everyone else and look at the facts. Just like anything else, it was business.
I see it this way. Just as Israel foreshook God and was carried into slavery, so were some of our people who allowed the fire of the gospel to grow cold.. But God is so faithful.
He knew what he was doing with Phillp.
Lastly! Did you know that as Joseph Smith travel through Arkansas headed for Utah, he was caught stealing horses? He was taken to court, but because he was traveling through and had wives and children the people decided to let him go, and ran him out of town. If they’d done what the law required, their would be no mormons. Smile. May God bless.

The only reason a “known” son/daughter of predition would continue to “bait” people and take the worst of it is for no other reson than to try to execute an intentional pattern of drawing in unsuspecting people into damnation with them.

They say that misery loves company. Any time it becomes crystal clear that a demon-possessed entity thrives of wallowing in the pit, then, it is better to leave that entity in the grasp of God. Not the god that they serve, but, the one living and TRUR GOD!

Each time I read certain comments, I evision a demon (and I have a picture in mind), that will bite and refuse to turn-loose, like the Proberbs states it, there things that are never full, e.g., never gets enough, two of which are an empty grave, a barren womb,…..! The horse leech always cry more, more, more. Sounds very familiar.

Steffie is a hardened heretic and blasphemer who has stubbornly and persistently ignored the truth of scripture and the witness that has been provided to her by numerous individuals here.

She is righteous in her own eyes and deliberately rejects the Gospel of Jesus Christ embraces a false polytheistic religion.

Christianity is monotheistic as the Bible teaches from Genesis to Revelation. Mormonism is polytheistic with innumerable gods. Steffie is a polytheist. Of course Mormons will claim they only worship ONE of those innumerable gods, Elohim, who they call “Heavenly Father”, but the fact remains that they believe there are MANY gods (Jesus and the Holy Spirit are also individual gods but Mormons claim they don’t worship them, only Elohim).

Mormonism is a satanically inspired polytheistic cult that is guilty of leading the souls of its deceived adherents straight to the pit of hell.

Mormonism’s “good works” so-called are born out of this false religion of works righteousness which through human efforts (good works) teaches that men can become gods by following Mormon teachings and passing through “eternal progression” toward exalted godhood.

  16. You are correct the gospel IS for everyone. I am not saying it isn’t. The truth is given and we choose to follow or not. We all have free agency. The point I am making is VERY VERY simple.

You claim Mormons are racist. The problem is that the history of Christianity is also racist.

I agree that there were probably racist Mormons 150 years ago, and I’m sure there may be some today. But to say that the church is racist is flat out wrong. To say the members are racist is also FLAT OUT WRONG.

What I am trying to show you is not that all Christians are racist but to show you there are many flaws in the history in the Christian church. Does this mean all Christians are racist? Of course not, but you cannot point the finger at one religion when your OWN religion has a very shady past!

Mormons are not racist, and they are not trying to take over the world. That is just silly.

  17. Please read, these are not my words, but the words of a black Christian man.

“III. The Origins of Black Christianity
According to Cone, “theology as ‘rational reflection’ about God was foreign to the intellectual and religious sensibilities of African slaves. Most could not read or write, and the few who could were . . . forced to apply what they believed about God to the survival and liberation of their people rather than to consider it systematically.” (Cone 1986: 83- 84)

The justice of God has been the dominant theme of black religious thought. Blacks, says Cone, have always believed in the living presence of the God who establishes the right by punishing the wicked and liberating their victims from oppression. “No one . . . can escape the judgment of God.” This may happen “sooner” (in this world) or it may happen “later” (in the next). Because whites continued to prosper materially as they increased their victimization of blacks, black religion came to speak more often of the later than of the sooner.

But the idea of hope is closely linked to the themes of justice and liberation. Cone says that black people’s hope is based on their faith in God’s promise not to “leave the little ones alone in bondage.” (1986, 84)

African slaves brought their own African religions with them to the Americas, but the white slave masters, especially in English-speaking North America, did not permit them to practice it openly, since they noticed a connection between African religion and slave insurrections. Yet African elements survived, according to Cone, in music, dance, speech patterns and thought.

Originally, African slaves were not taught Christianity (1986, 132), because some Christians held that Christian baptism required emancipation and there were too many references to freedom in the Bible (Ibid.). But eventually white missionaries convinced the slave masters that Christianity made blacks more docile and obedient. One slaveholder put it this way, “The deeper the piety of the slave, the more valuable he is in every respect.” Before the rapid growth of the Methodists and the Baptists in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, African slaves remained outside the belief systems of Christianity.”

  18. Full video footage of Gordon B. Hinckley blaspheming. Claiming what apostate Joseph Smith Junior supposedly was given is the “greatest gospel dispensation of all time”. This implies the lies from Joseph Smith Junior, inspired by the devil, are greatest, greater than the work of Jesus and the apostles, as if all before was performed to deliver a separate dispensation (another “covenant” and Mormon D&C says that) to Joseph Smith Junior.

What Mormon will call Brigham Young and John Taylor false prophets given their lies regarding God and race, that they said claiming it was a message from God?

Mormon John Taylor Said Blacks are Satan’s Folks

I’ve already said those who claimed to be Christians using racist doctrine were FALSE, but will Mormons call Young and Taylor false prophets? I say those who advanced racist doctrine were agents of SATAN, will Mormons say that of Young and Taylor?

They won’t because they feel those men were “prophets”.

Consider that when reading the words and selective citations of an apostate who wants to speak about race and religion.

If someone I know did a third of the research on Mormonism, first, then maybe that would make a difference. However, the reason I maintain that Mormon’s are in a “kill the christian” mode, rests in the fact that thry will pretend to want to just talk and debate. The question that a christian must ask is: Why? For what?

What could a Mormon possibly have in common with a Christian; in terms of reality, sense of values, outlook on life, the after life, Jesus Christ? The answer to all of these is a resounding NO!

The real reason is as stated above and in # 11 and #14. You simply cannot get a Mormon to discuss in any sensible detail, any of the thing stated therein. That should be proof to all.

    Steffielynne,

Hello I hope you are well.

Here is the problem, it is a very simple one.

Man will sin. Sometimes Satan will come as an angel of light and deceive people. When the deceit is realized for what it is people must repent of that evil and reject it.

Now you look at the Mormon Church. It has taught things and has done things contrary to the Word of God. If you are a Christian you must reject those things. However the Mormon Church considers those teachers of whom you must reject as prophets in the Church.

So you have a choice. To reject what is evil and repent, which is the God pleasing thing to do. Or you can skirt around the issue like you have been doing.

You have made comments saying I believe so and so is a prophet but I don’t believe everything he said. You just can’t have it two ways. Either God inspired him or God didn’t. Any honest God fearing Christian when shown the error of their ways would repent.

There are two roads to walk down. The straight and narrow that leads to salvation or the wide, broad road that leads to damnation. We can always change the road we walk down. Yet if you insist on following man made traditions instead of the Word of God than you have choosen the broad road.

When I was twenty years old I was presented with the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was offically a member of the Roman Catholic Church. I saw that that organization was full of lies, distortions and half truths. If I had continued down that road there would have been no hope for me. I think ample evidence in these blogs have been shown to you that the Mormon Church is not the Church that God has ordained.

Jesus says “Know ye the truth and the truth shall set ye free.” Its either light or darkness. What will it be?

    Love,

    John

  21. Let me clear a few things up.

First, I am not here to drag anyone to hell with me. The reason I am here is to defend my faith from the people who twist our beliefs into something it is not.

Second, I share the gospel with others because of my love of the gospel, because it changed my life. Because without it I would still be alone, lost and very very sad.

Third, I do not believe in the church because I read books about the LDS church. I thought the same thing about the LDS church that many of you do, that Mormons were going to hell. What changed for me was my heart. The missionaries taught me, and I came to a point were I needed to know. So I prayed, and when I prayed my sadness and confusion left me. I was instead filled with peace, and love, my broken heart was healed. This is how I know these men were prophets. No research could ever be more profitable then praying and asking God Himself. The Church is true, the gospel HAS been restored.

This is why I share the gospel, so that others can know that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them.

  22. John said:

One was named “Moroni”. The angel Joseph Smith Junior claimed to have seen.

When I was twenty years old I was presented with the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was offically a member of the Roman Catholic Church. I saw that that organization was full of lies, distortions and half truths. If I had continued down that road there would have been no hope for me.

And John you know many of us here had to get away from false prosperity and Word of Faith doctrines. Like you said, when presented with the truth, we had to leave the error.

    Apostate says:

The missionaries taught me, and I came to a point were I needed to know. So I prayed, and when I prayed my sadness and confusion left me. I was instead filled with peace, and love, my broken heart was healed. This is how I know these men were prophets. No research could ever be more profitable then praying and asking God Himself. Notice she went with the feeling in her “heart” and not testing the spirits with scripture, refusing research and refused to put them to the test of the Word of God. Asking God for help when He’s given us a Bible and all we need to do is READ IT. IT HAS THE ANSWER EVERY TIME.

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 (King James Version)

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Going with the “good feeling” usually is only a “sign” of ears being tickled. A failure to stick to THE WORD. THE WORD is how we prove/test all things.

2 Timothy 4:1-4 (King James Version)

    1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

And so fables are made, given labels of “jesus” and “god” and the lie is believed over the truth, but it “feels” so good. Kind of how music is manipulated in ultra-charismatic circles. Get them feeling good and they’ll eat anything you feed. And that Mormon choir sure can sing ya know.

Dope junkies do the dope because it makes them feel good too!

If this is true then were Brigham Young and John Taylor true prophets or false prophets based on their own words stating that “blacks are Satan’s folks”.

Words mean things Steffie. Either those two men taught falsely when they said they had received revelation from the Mormon god that “blacks are Satan’s folks” meaning they were FALSE PROPHETS or else they spoke the truth and blacks really are Satan’s folks according to the god of Mormonism.

    Which is true Steffie?

Additionally I for one am very interested in the true beliefs of Mormonism. In fact I’d very much like for you to provide some examples of Mormon beliefs being twisted on this blog. Please pick through the threads, and demonstate the beliefs that have been “twisted” and kindly clarify them by articulating the “true beliefs” of Mormonism. I think I speak for several commenters here when I say it would be very illuminating to see these clarifications point by point.

Steffie – based on the verses below how many gods would you say there are in all existence? How many gods does the LDS teach are in all existence? Is Christianity a monotheistic faith? Is Mormonism a monotheistic faith? Would you say that you, personally, are born-again Steffie?

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: (Deuteronomy 6:4)

Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. (Isaiah 43:10)

    From Alpha & Omega Ministries:

We hear it over and over again. “We never put down other churches. That’s not Christian.” Or, a variant on this theme is, “You have strengthened my testimony, because you are persecuting the Church!” Often LDS people interpret any disagreement with their beliefs as “persecution” or “bashing,” and claim that their Church would never do that!

Yet, in reality, disagreement and refutation is not persecution. If it is, then Paul was “persecuting” the Judaizers in Galatia when he wrote such a strong letter denouncing their beliefs (the book of Galatians). Christians are to stand for the truth, and “refute those who contradict” (Titus 1:9). In fact, it is an act of love to speak the truth (see our on-site e-tract, Why Do You Do This?).

But there is another reason LDS people should not cry “Foul!” when encountering strong disagreement with LDS beliefs. It’s a matter of simple consistency. As the following quotations show, Mormon leaders, and even Mormon scripture, denounce the Christian faith! Why is it fair for Joseph Smith to say all other churches are “corrupt,” yet Christians cannot reply by saying Joseph Smith was in error?

“Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the Church of the Lamb of God and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore whoso belongeth not to the church of the lamb of God belongeth to that great church; which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth.” (The Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 14:10)

“Nothing less than a complete apostasy from the Christian religion would warrant the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” (Documentary History of the Church, Introduction, xl)

“I was answered that I must join none of them (Christian Churches), for they were all wrong…that all their creeds were an abomination in His sight” (Joseph Smith History 1:19).

“…orthodox Christian views of God are Pagan rather than Christian.” (Mormon Doctrine of Deity by B.H. Roberts, p.116)

“…the God whom the ‘Christians’ worship is a being of their own creation…” (Apostle Charles W. Penrose, JD 23:243)

“The Christian world, so called, are heathens as to their knowledge of the salvation of God.” (Brigham Young, JD 8:171)

“We may very properly say that the sectarian world do not know anything correctly, so far as pertains to salvation. Ask them where heaven is?- where they are going to when they die?-where Paradise is! -and there is not a priest in the world that can answer your questions. Ask them what kind of a being our Heavenly Father is, and they cannot tell you so much as Balaam’s ass told him. They are more ignorant than children.” (Brigham Young, JD 5:229).

“The Christian world, I discovered, was like the captain and crew of a vessel on the ocean without a compass, and tossed to and fro whithersoever the wind listed to blow them. When the light came to me, I saw that all the so-called Christian world was grovelling in darkness.” (Brigham Young, JD 5:73).

“What! Are Christians ignorant? Yes, as ignorant of the things of God as the brute best.” (John Taylor, JD 13:225)

“What does the Christian world know about God? Nothing…Why so far as the things of God are concerned, they are the veriest fools; they know neither God nor the things of God.” (John Taylor, JI) 13:225)

“Believers in the doctrines of modern Christendom will reap damnation to their souls (Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p.177)

“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.” (Joseph Smith, DHC 1:6)

“I spoke of the impropriety of turning away from the truth, and going after a people so destitute of righteousness as the Methodists.” (Joseph Smith, DHC 2:319)

“…brother Joseph B. Nobles once told a Methodist priest, after hearing him describe his god, that the god they worshiped was the “Mormon’s” Devil-a being without a body, whereas our God has a body, parts and passions.” (Brigham Young, JD 5:331)

“…brother Heber C. Kimball was beset by a number of Baptist priests who had been attending a conference. He read them all down out of the New Testament….With regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world.” (Brigham Young, JD 8:199).

“The Roman Catholic, Greek, and Protestant church, is the great corrupt, ecclesiastical power, represented by great Babylon….” (Orson Pratt, Orson Pratt, Writings of an Apostle, “Divine Authenticity,” no.6, p.84).

“…all the priests who adhere to the sectarian religions of the day with all their followers, without one exception, receive their portion with the devil and his angels.” (The Elders Journal, Joseph Smith Jr., editor, vol.1, no.4, p.60)

“And any person who shall be so wicked as to receive a holy ordinance of the gospel from the ministers of any of these apostate churches will be sent down to hell with them, unless they repent of the unholy and impious act.” (Orson Pratt, OP-WA, “The Kingdom of God,” no.2, p.6)

“…all other churches are entirely destitute of all authority from God; and any person who recieves baptism or the Lord’s supper from their hands will highly offend God, for he looks upon them as the most corrupt people.” (Orson Pratt, The Seer, pg. 255)

“…the great apostate church as the anti-christ…This great antichrist…is the church of the devil.” (Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine p.40)

“Both Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the “whore of Babylon” whom the lord denounces by the mouth of John the Revelator as having corrupted all the earth by their fornications and wickedness.” (Pratt, The Seer, p.255)

“Brother Taylor has just said that the religions of the day were hatched in hell. The eggs were laid in hell, hatched on its borders, and then kicked on to the earth.” (Brigham Young, JD 6:176)

“Evil spirits control much of the so-called religious worship in the world; for instance, the great creeds of Christendom were formulated so as to conform to their whispered promptings.” (Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p.246)

“After the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized, there were only two churches upon the earth. They were known respectively as the Church of the Lamb of God and Babylon. The various organizations which are called churches throughout Christiandom, though differing in their creeds and organizations, have one common orgin. They belong to Babylon.” (George Q. Cannon, Gospel Truth, p.324)

Finally, note the views of Mormon Prophet Brigham Young regarding the Christian view of Jesus Christ:

“You may hear the divines of the day extol the character of the Saviour, undertake to exhibit his true character before the people, and give an account of his origin…I have frequently thought of mules, which you know are half horse and half ass, when reflecting upon the representations made by those divines. I have heard sectarian priests undertake to tell the character of the Son of God, and they make him half of one species and half of another, and I could not avoid thinking at once of the mule, which is the most hateful creature that ever was made, I believe. You will excuse me, but I have thus thought many a time” (Journal of Discourses 4:217).

    I Testify To You…

That there is one true and eternal God, unchangeable, unique, all-powerful.1

That this one true God created all things; there is nothing that exists anywhere that He did not bring into existence.2

That this one true God is spirit, and is not limited to time and space, both of which He himself created.3

That man is the creation of God, and God should not be thought of as an exalted man.4

That Jesus Christ has eternally existed as God.5
That Jesus Christ created all things.6

That the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin.7

That man is spiritually dead, enslaved to sin, unable to come to Christ outside of the Father’s enablement.8

That full and complete salvation is the work of God’s grace.9
That the Bible is God’s inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient revelation to man, in need of no supplements.10

This is my testimony, one that I believe is given to me by the Holy Spirit of God. The Bible says the Spirit of God witnesses to our spirits that we are the children of God (Romans 8:16) and that He leads His people into all truth (John 16:13).

I share this testimony with you because I believe the issues mentioned above define the gospel itself. The gospel requires that we know the one true God (John 17:3); a false god cannot save us. The gospel requires that we know the true Jesus Christ, for a false Christ cannot save (John 8:24, 2 Corinthians 11:4). And the true gospel alone can bring salvation, which is why we are warned about those who would preach a false gospel (Galatians 1:6-9).

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, however, denies every single one of the beliefs I shared with you above. Every one.* It is because of this that I share this literature with you. If you are LDS, I sincerely wish to warn you that you have been misled. If you are not LDS, I wish to inform you of the great differences that exist between Christianity and Mormonism at the most fundamental levels. While we often use the same words, we fill those words with very different meanings.

If you are LDS: I have given you my testimony. Doubtless you may say you have your own. The two testimonies contradict each other, however. What can we do now? The difference between us, my friend, is just this: my testimony does not determine truth. My testimony is a wonderful and precious thing, but it is not how I know the truth. My testimony must be subjected to a higher authority: the Bible. No matter how strongly I may “feel” about something, I must submit my feelings to the correction of the Word of God. So while you and I may have testimonies that conflict, I can take my testimony to the Word of God and demonstrate how it is consistent not only with some of the Bible, but with all of the Bible. My beliefs come from the Bible, and I would be glad to demonstrate this to you.

If you are not LDS: Christianity claims to be God’s truth. As such, there is no room, nor reason, for compromising on the essential elements of the faith. Mormonism is a fundamentally different religion, for Mormonism openly proclaims a “plurality of Gods” (see the Doctrine and Covenants 132:19-20, 37, Book of Abraham chapters 4-5, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith pp. 345ff). Christianity is unalterably monotheistic: we believe in only one true and eternal God. Mormonism presents a different God, a different Christ, and a different gospel. Because we love God, honor His truth, and desire others to know Him, we share this information with you.

    (1) Deut. 6:4; Isa. 43:10, 44:5-8; Psalm 90:2, 96:5; Mal. 3:6; James 1:17. (2) Isa. 40:22, 41:4, 44:24; Jer. 10:10-11; (3) 2 Chron. 6:18; Jer. 23:24; John 4:24. HAT TIP: Alpha & Omega Ministries

  27. Coram Deo, you know one of the big issues here, can be summed up with the following question:

Who really was the last to see the resurrected Christ?

If we believe the Bible, it was the apostles, with Paul being the last.

1 Corinthians 15:5-8 (King James Version)

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

I mean Joseph Smith Junior made so many versions of his lie about his vision where he claimed he actually met The Father, Jesus and plenty of other biblical and non-biblical figures.

So do we stick with the affirmed word of the apostles, who had the sure word and affirmed Paul, 2 Peter 3:14-16?

Who we know saw the resurrected Christ with no doubt.

2 Peter 1:16-21 (King James Version)

16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Or do we add on words from a man who came up with various versions of visions and private interpretations that ONLY HE said he could translate, by sticking his head in a hat and playing with a seer stone?

I think it’s obvious, Joseph Smith never saw Jesus or anyone else he claimed to have seen.

    Galatians 1:8 (King James Version)

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

We know Smith did not see Jesus or the Father and Smith claimed an angel “Moroni” gave him things. Material that IS NOT what the apostles preached and another gospel. LDS even calls it “another testament”. So by definition Smith is accursed. As you’ve said Coram Deo, ANATHEMA!

2 Corinthians 11:3-4 (King James Version)

3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Mormons follow another jesus, because they’ve been following a supposed angel of light:

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (King James Version)

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Really for someone like Steffielynn, she can’t accept the Bible as the start and end of scripture. She can’t accept that there are no more “prophets” to add to scripture, she can’t leave the revelations at Revelation 22:18-19. Her spirit can’t be content with the Bible. No Sola Scriptura for her! She’s honestly a gullible women and the favored prey of false prophets.

2 Timothy 3:6-7 (King James Version)

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Many can tell her the truth, but her heart is hardened.

I wonder how many heroin addicts and crackheads can say the exact same thing about their demonic god “drugs”?

I wonder how many homosexuals can say the exact same thing about their demonic god “sex”?

I wonder how many lost prices of this world can say the exact same thing about their demonic god “mammon”?

Once we have established our subjective feelings as the standard of truth over the objective truth of the Word of God then we’ve already taken the broad path that leads to destruction.

Feeling something is true doesn’t make it true. There must be an objective standard of truth against which all truth claims are measured, including our feelings. THat objective truth is the Holy Bible, the singular and absolutely authoritative and unique self-revelation of the One True Living God to men.

We must test our private feelings against God’s unique standard of truth as found only in the Holy Bible, since the Holy Bible teaches that our hearts are desperately wicked and cannot be trusted. We are sinful in both our hearts and our actions and therefore we need a sure and steady guide to show us how short we fall and how utterly dependent we are on God’s grace alone. Man merits only destruction and condemnation in, of, and for himself, but praise be to the One True Living God that out of his abundant mercy, love, pity and grace He stepped into the world as Jesus Christ to redeem those who beleive and are saved by grace through faith in Him alone. This saving faith it independent of any and all human works or efforts and is the unmerited gift of the One True Living God to those who would be saved.

Refusal to submit to the unique truth of the Holy Bible is the sin of rebellion which is in the One True Living God’s eyes, according to the Holy Bible, as the sin of idolatry and witchcraft.

What is truly sad are the facys that:

When you say YOUR “Heavenly Father loves you” do you notice the “f” instead of “F” and before you harp on your “you always talk about my mistakes” thing, I don’t believe for a second that was an error; because if you truly loved God, especially, as much as you pretend, your reverence would over whelm you, you couldn’t accidently forget. For all we know, you are actually speaking to one of the many gods that you truly do believe in.

Also, your ” that you don’t really care to know what the LDS really believe.”

That is one of the most revealingly spitiually blind blunders that you have ever made. I mean, HELL-O!!!! Look at comment #11, 25, 26, and every comment IC has ever made to you on the subject! We all KNOW about LDS and the awful lies upon which it started and are built!!! Please!

Do you think they are writing because thay get a dollar per alphabet? You think anyone gets joy out of the facy that a supposedly young mother with children and a husband in a war zone is so trapped in a face-to-face confrontation with destiny, yet, so blind that she will risk, both, hher soul and the souls of anyone believong her lies? If you do, then, that fact speaks for itself, as to sinfulness, stupidity, and gullability. To say nothing of your sinful unmitigated gall.

“My heart was sad and broken.” Do this one thing, imagine what you say you feel, in terms of “My heart was sad and broken.” and multiply it by 100K times 100K in total and eternal darkness with the pain of forever burning and without God (or your gods) presence;then, know that represent your very first day in hell.

Finally, PLEASE don’t think for a single second that the things said to you here are intended for you the person that God created whether you will thank Him and give Him credit for it or not. I believe they are intended for that evil, foul spirit that in dwell within you the person and to awaken your spirit and everything that our God allows to remain with you, e.g., each and every breathe that you take, physical vision (because God knows you lack spiritual vission), health, your 5 senses (save hearing); it is not YOU that the words and hate are directed rather it is [you]. When you learn the difference, YOU may be ready to listen and heed.

    Charles

  37. I honestly don’t make comments here any more for her sake. I really ended with her a long while back. I comment for the sake of those who would otherwise be duped by her deception.

You can ask her a question, but don’t ever except full answers.

I’m glad her husband has returned to her, she’s been showing the she desperately needed some company. What’s sad though and I don’t mean any disrespect Steffielynn, but you’ve been shown the truth, reject it and while you speak of your husband coming home from war, but you are not going to help him possibly find the truth, you reject truth yourself, if he was to die at war or in your own back yard his soul has no redemption for his sin and neither does yours. You’ve been told the truth and refuse to repent to sanctify yourself and of course won’t speak of true sanctification to your household. Instead of you 2 spending eternity in some fake celestial kingdom making spirit children, you both are lining up for eternity in hell. The most sad part is that you just might know more of the truth you’re rejecting than he might, but you don’t want to upset things, so you let the lies continue and embrace them yourself.

Your husband can win 100 war medals and without the truth of Christ he’ll be a war hero in hell with a wife burning beside him.

You might feel some “comfort” in this life, but rejecting the truth you’ll have none in the next!

What I did not say is steff’s husband coming home is by the grace of God. I didn’t know then what I know now, because if I did, I would not want to have bullets flying over my hear or dharing a fixhole with a nonbeliever. If I were a woman who had a husband in a warzone such as we have in Iraq; I believe I would absolutely wear my knees out praying.

I vaguely remember asking her if her husband was a Mormon and I think she saud yes. Well if so, that speaks volumes about how intrenched that LSD dogma has penetrated. I also would not take my butt into a war zone under the slightest illusion that eternity weren’t a moment by moment reality.

From where I sit, it is not eben interesting to watch such a disaster unfold. What are they thinking?????

  39. Charles:

When it comes to marriage, the cult of Joseph Smith Junior (Mormonism) is like the cult of Mary (Catholicism), they want you to be married BY THEM and Mormonism takes it a step further in saying it’s best you be married at their FAKE TEMPLE in Utah! The Mormon cultists do this feeling that such a marriage will be sealed for eternity, so when they reach their fake “celestial kingdom” (which is actually the lake of fire) they’ll remain married and can make “spirit children”. Many Mormons even feel they will have polygamy there. Polygamy along with the lie of “eternal” marriage is noted in Mormon D&C 132, false scripture! It’s totally against the monogamous marriage Christ instructed in Mark 10:6-9 and against THE WORD OF GOD, that marriage between individuals IS NOT IN THE NEXT LIFE.

    Luke 20:34-36 (King James Version)

34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

But you know, cults don’t really care what Jesus has to say, they’ve made up their own jesus via Joseph Smith Junior and believe whatever lies their satanic oracle said.

  40. “I know some people are outraged that I would be “so mean” to call Mormonism a satanic cult.”

Far from being outraged, as I read this article I could not help but literally laugh out loud. Though a former Christian myself, I am no hater of religious people. But I will never cease to find it amusing that members of one misguided religious sect will forever fear and critique members of another misguided religious sect.

Mormons are silly, but so are Baptists, my friends.

  41. Job said

    Carriedthecross:

So my fine gentleman who is the possessor of such great intelligence and erudition, enlighten and inform me: what happens to people when they die? And as for “Mormons are silly, but so are Baptists, my friends” … how is that any different from what you are passing judgment against, critiquing if you will? If you were sincerely tolerant, then you would understand and respect a religious system that makes exclusive claims and also know perfectly well that it is possible to hold exclusive claims without hating or fearing non – adherents to those claims.

The truth is that your criticisms of my beliefs are no more honorable than my criticisms of those of Mormons or anyone else. Quite the contrary, yours are worse because it comes coated with the veneer of smug arrogance, hypocrisy, and self – righteousness that you refuse to acknowledge when you view it as part of your own reflection in a mirror or a puddle of water.

I openly admit that I am pointing my finger of judgment at you because my faith tells me that you are on your way to the lake of fire and commands me to do something to prevent it. You, meanwhile, point the finger of judgment at me for no reason other than your own pride and self – satisfaction and then compound that with the absolute gall to deny that you are in fact judging me just as you accuse me of doing to you.

Not only does it make you no better than me, but it makes you far worse, for you presume to possess knowledge that you know very well that you lack, you are making claims of moral superiority that are on their face false, and you are perfectly willing to exist in a state of perpetual delusion. Do you deny that this is so? If not, why else would you have felt moved to read this post knowing full well what was in it? Why else would you have felt the need to respond despite knowing full well that you were not going to win any converts? The answer, my friend, is within yourself.

I thank you for stopping by, and I wish you all the best in your search for truth and peace. My search, of course, has already ended for I have found those things in Yeshua HaMashiach, the one more commonly known in the west as Jesus Christ.

Athiesis alert! carriedthecross: You are a remarkable example of “I will make their wisemen foolish.” You have, in very short paragraphs made one of the best arguments for “stay in school, but first, church.

You say: “I could not help but literally laugh out loud. Though a former Christian myself, I am no hater of religious people.”

Coming from an atheist, you know very well that you did not and are not laugh. Far from the exterior facade that you hold out to the public; internally, you are weeping and dreading the day that you became a son of predition.

Far from your: ” “But I will never cease to find it amusing that members of one misguided religious sect will forever fear and critique members of another misguided religious sect.”

Fear is not a spirit of God, rather it is, Power and love. Those two supercede any weapon you would attempt to employ. And of course, “critique” I would rather say “correction” is one of the Christian’s main stays, our calling card (no pun intended), if you will. Were I you, I would be careful when I lump in Baptists into the other groupings of God’s choosen children (albeit by adoption). I am sure you are aware of the fact that we be the ones that will very quickly borrow the “board” from our deacons to get your attention, and the “board” speaks a language that cut across faith lines, one that even you in your fallen state will understand on this side of eternity.

You would do well to know that he who laughs last, laugh best.

Totally nothingness you have earned and totally nothingness you deserve and shall reap.

    Charles

  43. Charles D. said

    What does this even means:

“Though a former Christian myself, I am no hater of religious people.”

What about non-religious people? I doubt if you were ever a Christian, but even allowing that you once were, my bet is that you weren’t a good one. That aside, in your opinion, what do you see as the major cause of your change of faith?

Some atheist pose threats to infant Christians, you’re beniegn. Why is that? Or do you even see it in yourself?

    Just curious.

    Charles

  44. All you need to read is CarriedTheCross’ Basics, consider scripture like Psalm 14:1 and move on. Don’t waste time with one who has assured himself of hell fire.

  45. Job-

“So my fine gentleman who is the possessor of such great intelligence and erudition, enlighten and inform me: what happens to people when they die?”

First, I’d like to point out that I never indicated I was a possessor of such great intelligence and erudition. Though I will take that as a compliment. Second, to paraphrase from Bertrand Russell, when I die I shall rot and nothing of me shall remain. Happiness is none the less happy because it is not eternal and life none the less valuable because it must come to an end.

    Charles-

“Coming from an atheist, you know very well that you did not and are not laugh. Far from the exterior facade that you hold out to the public; internally, you are weeping and dreading the day that you became a son of predition.”

You know what, you hit the nail right on the head. I am agonizing in fear for the day that I will burn in hell because the God who loves me so much sent himself to die on a cross so that I didn’t have to be punished eternally but will still send me to hell because I didn’t have an epistemic justification to believe in him.

“You would do well to know that he who laughs last, laugh best.

Totally nothingness you have earned and totally nothingness you deserve and shall reap.”

A great testament to the love and grace of one who has been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

“I doubt if you were ever a Christian, but even allowing that you once were, my bet is that you weren’t a good one.”

How exactly do you determine ‘good Christian’? I’m curious, is there some set of criteria out there I have never seen? Is it based on the fruits of the spirit? Good works? Either way, whether I met your approval as a good Christian or not, I assure you I was quite genuine.

“That aside, in your opinion, what do you see as the major cause of your change of faith?”

The complete lack of evidence for faith in Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism or Greek mythology.

    IC,

“Don’t waste time with one who has assured himself of hell fire.”

Surely there is hope for me yet. Shouldn’t you try to save me?

  46. Ah, I missed a few things from Job I wanted to respond to; Job,

“If you were sincerely tolerant, then you would understand and respect a religious system that makes exclusive claims and also know perfectly well that it is possible to hold exclusive claims without hating or fearing non – adherents to those claims.”

Let’s not equivocate the word tolerant here. Of course I tolerate your right to exist, promote your beliefs, etc. At the same time, I hesitate to partake in ‘conversational tolerance.’ That is, I do not feel bad about pointing out that which I think is unjustified, tactless, crude, etc.

“Quite the contrary, yours are worse because it comes coated with the veneer of smug arrogance, hypocrisy, and self – righteousness that you refuse to acknowledge when you view it as part of your own reflection in a mirror or a puddle of water.”

Now, now, why so testy? I’m not sure that you can really claim to know my personality because of a five line response to your post. I’m relatively certain that I am neither arrogant or self-righteous. Hypocritical, I’m sure in a sense, as are we all.

“You, meanwhile, point the finger of judgment at me for no reason other than your own pride and self – satisfaction and then compound that with the absolute gall to deny that you are in fact judging me just as you accuse me of doing to you.”

Well first, lets make one thing clear: I will not deny that I have made judgments about you and your kind. I think you are wrong, and I think ultimately you are dangerous. I do not point the finger for my own pride and self-satisfaction, I point the finger because religious fanaticism is a clear and present danger in the world.

“Not only does it make you no better than me, but it makes you far worse, for you presume to possess knowledge that you know very well that you lack, you are making claims of moral superiority that are on their face false, and you are perfectly willing to exist in a state of perpetual delusion.”

I’m not sure what claims you seem to know of that I have made. By nature I am skeptical. I make no absolute claims. If you are referencing my religious belief, than yes, I follow where the evidence may lead.

“If not, why else would you have felt moved to read this post knowing full well what was in it? Why else would you have felt the need to respond despite knowing full well that you were not going to win any converts?”

Why read it? The title caught my attention. Why respond? Because the attitude that underpins this post must be opposed. Because religious extremism cloaked in the form of so-called Christian love is as dangerous as a Muslim jihadist.

  47. Charles D. said

You have failed ALL of the tests that would speak to what type Christian (you might have been). Otherwise, you would know very well what the criterion are to be a Christian. First and foremost; none is “good” except the Father. And! So far as your feebled, over-used:

“Surely there is hope for me yet. Shouldn’t you try to save me?”

You don’t even want to go there with me; because as you will remember I am the one that proposed to take the “board” from the deacons and putting it where it rightfully belong (in my humble opinion). I digress here, but God has taken this opportunity, the words of a professed atheist to use for His greater glory. And that is:

TO: All of you so called “christians” inclding, but not limited to those who think warnings should not be given about the eveil and false teachings of the likes of, e.g. Bynums, Weeks, Copeland, Dollar, et al, who think the main stays on this site in the personage of Job, IC, Fran, Eden John* and others, that we should love, be nice and accepting to followers of the Bynums, Weeks, Copeland, Dollar, et al of this world, for a warm and fuzzy feeling that you’ve done well. As I have said on so many threads that it takes all kinds of soldiers in the army of God. Some are to be loving as we all are, or, are seeking to become as the Holy Spirit further perfect us. While there is a time and place for the tender-hearted, as well as the no matter what they do or say, we have to love them so they will return to God. Well God bless you and there are places in God’s army if you are sincere. The commonality is that we all have accepted Christ as our personal Savior and we do love God with all of our very being and would all be lost without Him. It would be an awful world if we all thought alike, looked alike, reason/rationalize alike and all experienced God at the same time and the same place. Fact of the matter is….we are not all alike and we do not see or discern the same thing, nor should we. Please leave the heavy work for those that can and will contend with this present eveil, please!} Not saying that I am such a person, however, I have seen things that you haven’t; Job has seen thingsd that I haven’t so have Fran and Eden. IC almost always backs up what he says with scripture. Lots and lots of ascripture! Sometimes I am so chomping at the bits, and my actions are altered because he sees something that I have not seen. That is classic God at work amongst His people, exactly what we are suppose to do. This is a fight for your very soul. You should be praying that God use this site (especially in this super fast information age) to witness to people that you mot otherwise witness to for a variety of reasons. We should rightfully and spiritually be instrumentalities of HIS will!

NOW BACK TO THE EVEIL ONE, CARRIEDTHE CROSS: He hasn’t carried it yet, but, he is equally as guilty as those who did carried the cross.

Secondly, you are stuck in the “what have you done for ME lately” mode. First, you blame God; then, you blame me for what I have said to you, yet, you cannot state with any reasonable degree of accuracy, a single thing that I have said that weren’t true. Most assuredly, if I can take your lame dribble/retort, then, so can the God I serve. Just having left church (maybe 2 hours ago), I can and do hereby rest comfortable in the fact that what kind, or, even if I am a Christian does not rest with you; AND, you wouldn’t know the difference, regardless.

NOW PLEASE KNOW THIS: it is not God that is sending you to Hell, it is you that have exercised your free moral agency to do that all by your lonesome. And you will be lonesome. You cannot hang that one on God. He will that none should perish and that all come to know my Lord and Savior Jesus, the Chrst and Him crucified! You’ve failed miserably in defending your position in what, both, Job and IC have described as your very lonesome journey. For some reason they know who you are. I don’t. I don;t visit strange blog sites so they see aside of you that I don’t see presently. But the things that you are selling, have gone on since time immemorial. Certainly you don’t think that you are special, do you? I am old enough to have experienced folk much like yourself. You put on this brave face on this side of eternity, on a blog site where we cannot see the actual terror in your face, but just as I have said, you are scared beyond belief. I feel it in my spirit. You think that there may be something else afterwards. That God will give you an out. Well good news for you; there is an out! There’s gnashing of teeth and mourning that is as distant and foreign to you as the concept of salvation. Given your present course, that is your out and end! The ball is in your perverbal court.

Furthermore, who do you think you are impressing with your faithless dogma. You’re certainly not the first and you will not be the last. Even if it WERE new to ME, it most assuredly is not new to God. Atheists with a majority hold on predition who have had an encounter with the Ancient of Days, have already warned you: “you don’t want to take this road!” and “whatever you do, you don’t want this for either yourself or those you love!” So, carriedthe cross, ask you chief witness for the defense, Madalyn Murray O’Hare. My bad! Instead, ask a living one, like her son, why don’t sha? Oh! You don’t believe them either? Well you’re a toughies. Remember this: “If they will not listen to the prophets, then, they will not believe you.”

I’ve read what you’ve had to say and I find you wanting. Terribly wanting.

    Charles

P.S. Why do you suppose you continue to come back here?

  48. Holy of holies, I hope you are joking, Charles. Seriously. I’m so in shock that I can’t forumlate a reply.

The majority of Mormons do not even realize that the cornerstone of their religion, The Book Of Mormon was altered by the Freemasons in 1837. The original Book of Mormon that Joseph Smith translated taught that Jesus, is indeed God the Eternal Father, the blacks received the priesthood, as did women, and polygamy was an abomination. After the death of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, a 33rd degree mason, took away the priesthood from blacks and women.
