Book Description
“Foreplay” is an adaptation from a series that was preached by Bryant at one of the most powerful places on the planet — which happens to be the church he’s blessed enough to pastor — Empowerment Temple A.M.E. in Baltimore, Maryland. It was after this series that his ministry really began to take off and skyrocket giving Bryant a clear indication that there were many who knew they were spiritually out of sync and needed a relational, psychological and emotional adjustment. In Byrant’s words “Foreplay” is a testament to his spiritual development and deliverance. In this manual, Bryant candidly describes the illicit spirit of fornication which runs rampant in many congregations and the fact that adultery seems to be the norm around the country. He also tackles delicate issues within the church including: sexual abuse, teenage pregnancy, absent fathers and more. In short, Bryant discerns that sexuality amongst the saved isn’t a habit, but is a spirit that must be dealt with and destroyed or a whole generation could very easily be lost from the Kingdom. In the powerful words of Bryant “sexuality remains an area where we continue to put band aids when what’s really required is open heart surgery.”

From the Publisher
Jamal-Harrison Bryant, the charismatic and phenomenal young pastor of Empowerment Temple, has released his long and anxiously anticipated first written work – “Foreplay: Sexual Healing for Spirtual Wholeness.” The official release date will be followed by a number of signings, appearances and lectures nationwide. One of the most explosive, celebrated, up and coming young voices in the country, Bryant, is drawing comparisons to some of the most revered ministers and leaders in the African-American Community–past and present. However, his work is sure to set him apart as you will see in “Foreplay” that he has a very timely youth friendly message, that is undoubtedly and soundly routed in the word.

Well Jamal Bryant would be considered an expert on this issue given his recent affairs and baby-momma drama.

  2. James Bell: Hmmm … I just did an Internet search and I think that I saw what you are speaking of, although the allegation that I saw was rather old.

Are you guys ‘followers of Christ’? If so, then show me in the Bible where Christ actually went looking up information and gossip on people? How many sins have you committed today by the way with your self-righteous selves. Oh, I forgot. You don’t sin. Apparently not you spend all this time digging up faults on others. Man, GET A LIFE! I happen to run across this site by mistake. We have people dying everyday. I’m sure some right up the street from YOU! Go help them. Feed someone that’s hungry! Go to a nursing home, worry about getting yourself in the Kingdom. How many attempts have you made to try and salvage these ‘so called’ false teachers and preachers. Hmmm, nevermind! You liar. You a cheat and you got SIN in your life and subject to sin some more as long as you are here. I strive for perfection everyday and God graces me to be strengthened everyday. So what used to trip me up doesn’t anymore, however self righteous hypocrites such as yourself make me want to “sock” you one good time in an effort to shake you to reality! NOBODY, NOBODY IS PERFECT, ALBEIT THIS ISN’T A MEAL TICKET TO SIN, BUT STOP ACTING LIKE YOU DON’T DO ANYTHING WRONG! CAUSE I KNOW YOU DO EVEN IF IT’S JUST PAYING A BILL LATE

Aaaaaaamen L Dotson!!!!! TRUTH Well Said!!! I definitely will look at the fruit of a person’s walk, especially one that is in a leadership position…but honestly, in most cases, we don’t have to look any further than their teaching…if it is not lining up w/ scripture, GOD’s Holy Word; then you need to walk away.

Is it true with Dr. Jamal H. Bryant, that he impregnated a 17 year old Black female????

  5. Shawn: I do not know. I looked for it by way of an Internet search, but was unable to find anything conclusive.

    To save the best:
Being a follower of Christ does not mean that you bury your head in sand and ignore when someone does something wrong. If he had sexually molested someone should we also be silent. Sin is sin and it needs to be exposed especially when you are a Christian Leader. Nothing just happens. I do believe that this happened so that people would see that they should remember to focus on God and not on man. Too many times we get caught up in personalities and run after the man/woman instead of God. When a person is in a postion such as Jamal Bryant they need to be held to a much higher standard. I am reminded of David and Bathseba. It does not mean that God will not forgive Jamal, and continue to bless his ministry. However like David we all must pay the consequences for our sin.

It two fold it is not the will of the father that any soul be lost, God will expose us if we refuse to get it right. He loves all soul even the soul that sins. Do I contiue to sin that grace my abound, God forbid. However I thank God he is not like man in any way. He is a forgiving God, how many times should one forgive. Let’s stop getting it twisted.

    • Blessedweare said

Very true Bev…blessed word. The only thing I disagree with is when you said GOD would to continue to bless his ministry. GOD does not bless mess. This ministry he has seems more about self-glory, as opposed to GOD’s glory. On his FB page, there are no quotes from the Holy Word of GOD…all quotes sre from him, and when you read the comments, the people are praising him, not the LORD. This is very disheartening to see so many people willing to jump aboard, without questioning anything, or even realizing what is going on. When ever someone points out these things, his followers get offended. GOD is to be glorified, not man. The teaching of GOD’s Word is inconspicuously absent…

And if he is you Pastor you need to pray for him. Pray for the body of Christ the world thinks we are suppose to be perfect were are not only JESUS was and is…… Loving you with the love of Christ.

  8. A Bell: Jesus Christ said that if you loved Him you would keep His Commandments. Christ did not ask perfection of us, only obedience. The person who refuses to walk in obedience to Christ has rejected the Father, and will be rejected by the Father on judgment day. Don’t any of these churches deal with judgment day anymore? The false church that I grew up in did not teach God’s grace and mercy and how He uses it to keep His people from falling, but even they dealt with judgment day.

Like father like son. The Bryant’s from the A.M.E. church in Baltimore, Maryland have a history of gay and preverted living from the father and mother to their son. Yes sex sells in the media, and perhaps that’s the reason he Jamal wrote his book to make more money. The love of money is the root of all evil. We all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, but we who belive that repenting and turning from sin who do that will be forgiven of our sins. All of our earthly family has sinned and instead of judging him or others we must examine ourselves. Each of us will be held accountable for all of our unrighteous sin deeds. If we don’t get right with the Lord we will get left.

I will admit that I experience both disgust and sadness at all the recent news concerning some of the leaders in Atlanta. Like many of you the enemy would that I would use this an opportunity to negatively speak about imperfect people. Yet, regardless of theier sinfu; acts like you and I they are still God’s children, God’s annointed. I know you don’t like it and perhaps makes no sense to you. Finally, I have chosen to resist the urge to discuss, feed or magnify anything that, for one I can not gaurantee with facts. Most importantly I have chosen to focus on the real issue and that the attack of the enemy against the kingdom, against those that need truth, sincerty and integrity in the church and community. So I would like to urge all of us to pray and pray some more. Pray for those leaders that are still standing for riteousness, pray for those leaders that are leading God’s people to the word everyday. You may not want to except it but they are no less vulnerable then you and I if they are not covered in prayer, if they are not focused on the promise and will of God for their lives. It is wrong but I am determined to not allow the enemy to get any Glory from this. I believe that unfortunately this is not the last. God is uncovering, exposing and revealing and all misrepresentations of His word and His will. Keep the faith, Keep going! All for His glory.

Does not the Bible say “Judge not, lest Ye Be Judged”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Joy: The Bible says a lot of things. The key is being able to contextually interpret scripture and apply it in the correct situation. That is what the Holy Spirit enables you to do. Now here you are on here applying “Judge not” the same way that the filthy abominable sinners who have rejected God do. But a person being ruled by the Holy Spirit would know that Jesus Christ applied that verse to the Pharisees that were judging His followers. That verse does not apply to a saved person warning an unsaved person of his sinful ways, and it certainly does not apply to church discipline. Otherwise, virtually every prophet, preacher, and teacher in the Bible would have been guilty of violating that same verse.

What if you saw someone rob, rape, and murder an innocent 12 year old girl. Would you try to prevent the crime? Would you report the criminal to the police? Would you testify against him in his trial? Would you tell that criminal that he needs to repent of his sins and to ask Jesus Christ to become his personal savior or else he will spend an eternity in the lake of fire? Of course not. You would not do any of those things. You know why? Because that’s JUDGING! Right? Well if you can plainly discern crimes and sins in that case, what prevents you from doing the same in reference to a person in the pulpit?

You people that twist and pervert scripture in order to defend false preachers need to realize that God is judging YOU.

I’m so tired of people trying to cover up the sins of ministers and pastors. According to Maryland court records, Jamal Bryant did have a baby outside of his marriage and in doing this, he has step outside of the will of God. I’m not sure how old the mother of his child is but if she’s under age we should not condone this behavior this is child molestation. Pastors are considered elders and shepherds of the church giving guidance to their flocks on how to abide by the word of God. We have too many leaders in power that are not abiding by the word of God and we as the flock should demand that they live according to the word of God. In a situation as impregnating a child, immediate removal of the minister or pastor from his seat should take place, and criminal prosecution of that individual for a criminal act. God is watching everything that we do and we need to abide by his word.

    1. Provide evidence that Jamal – Harrison Bryant is a legitimate pastor instead of a corrupt false preacher whose lifestyle and doctrine do not follow the Bible.

    2. Why are you attacking me for exposing the fact that Jamal – Harrison Bryant wrote a sexual exploitation book rather than criticizing Harrison Bryant for writing the book?

    3. This is not gossip. This is 100% fact. I do not even mention all of the gossip and rumors I hear about Bryant (and trust me there is plenty) and other preachers (again there is plenty). I only relay things that I see in the media, and things that affect the Body of Christ.

Look, there is a time for forgiveness, you are correct. But these people need to first ask for forgiveness. Until Bryant asks for forgiveness, instead of attacking me for talking about Bryant’s wrongdoing, you need to demand that Bryant stop doing wrong.

I am 100% certain that the Roman Catholic Church just LOVED people like you when they were trying to sweep their priest child abuse scandal under the rug for the past 25 years. But the victims refused to be silent and kept demanding justice! Well, I am hoping that the victims of the Protestant false preachers keep doing the same. That they keep talking about how they have been ripped off, talking about how they were messed up by their false doctrines. Because your favorite preacher refuses to follow the Bible and his church and denomination aren’t doing anything about it, you are attacking me? It sounds like to me that you had better worry about yourself. The Bible clearly says that the righteous God demands HOLINESS, and you defenders of this evil have no interest in the holiness that God demands, only having your own ears tickled.

    Sherry,
How kind of you to come on to the site judging a brother who is simply pointing out the facts. What was that about judging? Are you not in that category yourself? By not agreeing with the author of this particular article, aren’t you actually the one who is causing a lack of unity? Think about it…you would stand in agreement with brothers and sisters who are willfully doing something wrong, yet, you would come on here and not be joined in unity with the author? What kind of unity are you talking about? To be joined in unity, IS to be joined in unity across the board (according to you), which now leaves you condemned by your own judgement of a brother on this site. How do you reconcile such things?
    You also said:

“The knows that we fight against each other gossip the same pull each other down (God Show us your Glory how ) That why our miracles are not happening on a large scale. Little here and little there (why) Because there is no LOVE if your brother or sisiter is naked cover him if he is down pick him up love him talk to him pray for him.”

I am sorry, but where do you get such theology? Miracles happen through the power of God and the power of God alone! How can you seriously say such things?
I think you should be in prayer about your relationship with the Lord. It is very important that we have a right understanding of the Lord we say we love and serve. I will be praying for you sister.

To all my brothers and sisters in Christ. I just happened to be on line when I came across an article on Paula and Randy White and their divorce. From that found a link about the filing for divorce between Pastor Bryant and his wife. I believe that the word of God is inspired by Him and that it is infallible and the absolute truth. And anything that happens in life needs to be filtered through the word. Calling sin sin is not judging. “You will know them by their fruits…” Matt. 7:16 I am not writing to judge the ministry of Pastor Bryant nor his conduct. I am writing to say that as a pastor who fell from grace I was removed from the pulpit and I believe rightfully so. I believe that there needs to be a season of restoration before anyone and I don’t care who it is given the priviledge of standing before God’s people. To often I believe that we think it is a right to lead God’s people simply because someone is gifted or anointed but it is a calling that comes with strict judgement. Not from me or any of you but from Almighty God Himself. Read James 3. When leadership of the church takes a hit after some indiscretion has been revealed there is tremendous fallout that happens within the body of Christ that affects many innocent people that none of us can deny. Not to mention how the world mocks God’s children and brings a reproach to the One that came and died for all. This is bigger than any one man or woman this is about the name of Jesus. Proverbs 25:26 says, “A righteous man who falters before the wicked is like a murky spring and a polluted well” (NASB) A murky spring and a polluted well is of no use until it is made clean again and that takes time just like restoration takes time. It took time for me to be restored and rightfully so. One question I would ask those who believe that Pastor Bryant should still stand in the pulpit if indeed the charges of adultery are true. What would a minister of the Holy Word of God have to do in order for you to judge him unworthy to teach God’s precious people for a season? I Cor. 9:27 speaks of Paul discipling his body under subjection because after preaching to others he himself did not want to be disqualified. Family, we all are called to a stricter way of life. No there is none perfect but we do need to strive for holiness and righteousness in our lives so that when the world looks into the life of a child of the Most High they should be able to tell that we are not of this world. I would like to hear from some that like-minded or not.

    God Bless

The things about Jamal Bryant are not rumor they are truth. You can look it up yourself. To the ongoing proceeding with Michelle Wedderburn, mother of one his kids, to Bianca Wilson, the recent mother of twins. To the recent findings about him and his wife both filling divorce papers. Its not a rumor when the case files are open for anyone to view go to http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/inquiry/inquiry-index.jsp and type in his name.

As for Jamal Bryant I have had the pleasure to run into him on business travel, and sit near him. What was coming out of his mouth was pretty far from godly. I guess the moral is that we often want the preacher to be God on earth and he isnt, dont follow so blindly. I used to attend Empowerment Temple and stopped going well before the scandal, it was because the image and the words were not of god in my opinion. I took my time to come to that hypothesis, other church goers need to do the same.

Oh my goodnee Nia – THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENT. I used to go to the club, ooops I mean empowerment temple where women come dressed in the nightclub wear from the night before. Fishnet stockings and such. It was really a fashion show/ entertainment even. I am a believer that your soul speaks to you. Even the most hardened sinner can feel the difference between godly and ungodly. Well put it like this – I had to stop going to that church. I mean the materialism is so blatant. He pulls up in a bently. EVERY sermon he talks about money in some form or fashion. Not how to get your soul straight – oh no. MONEY. He talks about how your going to get your blessing ($$$), How big its going to be ($$$), how you cant hold back from you offerings($$$), how the more you bless God the more he blesses you($$$). Do you get the point. One time I was in church just prior to him building the mega church. He had the tithes and offering. Then took another offering for the building fund. Now that all sounds normal, right. Sure. People even come up and slam bills n the stage as he preaches when they are really “feelin” him. Fair enough. But even after all that, he devotes 20 minutes to what I call a guilty begging session. This man says ” i know some one is moved out there to write a check for 5000 dollars. He waits and sure enough a few people write the checks and come to the front for thier 15 seconds of fame. Then he reduces the amount to 1000 dollars. Even more people come down. This goes on till the kids are coming down with thier $1 bills. I mean he stopped preching (about finances of course) to wring even more money out of the congregation. Oh man before you assume its exaggeration, go to the church with your checkbook. – You’ll see how much they charge for a blessing there. Did they ever get the ATM’s in there. OH another thing. CHeck out the BMW 745 interior layout of the church’s website. I think its empowermenttemple.org. get a load of this guy. ($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$)($$$) BLING

The truth is that folks keep covering up folks ways of life. We subconsciously judge “regular” folks everyday, but soon as someone who is “big” or “annointed” skeletons come out of the closet and someone mention it, we throw scriptures at them and tell them they are wrong. How much do pastors rebuke folks in the congregation for their sins? i don’t care what kind of ministry you have, in the end, you are a man or woman just like everyone else. Someone can be really “rhetorically profound” and “annointed” especially when they have a way with words, big in tv land, etc. But all judgement is the same. Alot of men preachers do these things b/c they know that alot of ignorance is in the church. Folks will deny and pass it up, and keep going. And then jump on others when they mention. We talk about those of Hollywood and other arenas who are “mediasized”, but oh no, not in the church. How can we say the world is filthy for what they do, but then turn around and cover up our own mess? Come on Christians, let’s get real. Alllooot of peeps gon’ make it into heaven b4 maaannnny so called “christians”

Are any of you who judge familiar with the disciple Peter? Do some research in him. Educate yourself instead of wasting your time searching to condemn someone else.
