Jesus Christ Is Lord

That every knee should bow and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father!

Correlating Don Imus, Christians, Blacks, Women, And The Rapture

Posted by Job on April 13, 2007

In the past I have declared that while I do believe in the rapture, I could not decide between the pre – tribulationist, mid – tribulationist, or post – tribulationist camp, and decided that it really doesn’t matter. At the suggestion of Independent Conservative, I read Matthew 24, and am now 100% in the POST – TRIBULATION rapture camp (and have a lot more tolerance for the rapture – deniers), and have decided that it DOES MATTER. Why? BECAUSE WHEN THE GREAT TRIBULATION COMES, WE WILL STILL BE HERE. “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:), Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:, Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” That is Matthew 24:15-22, and those warnings apply to US when we will have to HEAD FOR THE HILLS (to the place of refuge) AFTER THE BEAST (the anti – Christ) defiles the soon – to – be reconstructed third temple! And that is why it is important. Those scriptures refer to US! Now, the pre – tribulationists deal with this scripture by claiming that it referred to the destruction of the second temple and the end of the Jewish dispensation in 70 AD, when millions of Jews who refused to abandon Jerusalem fell to the Romans (non – Messianic Jews after the Simcha Jacobovici strand claim that Jesus Christ’s “true radical Pharisee teachings perished” with His followers, a ridiculous claim easily disproved by the historical fact that though some of Yeshua HaMashiach’s followers did die defending Rome, others had previously left Jerusalem and Israel to spread the gospel). Even if that is true, it is merely a prophetic type, a foreshadowing of the real event during the REAL tribulation, just as the first destruction of the temple and scattering of the Jewish people was a foreshadowing of 70 AD. And why is it important? Because if we don’t KNOW that we are going to STILL BE AROUND for the great tribulation, WE WON’T BE PREPARING FOR IT! We won’t heed Yeshua HaMashiach’s Words and head for the place of refuge when the beast defiles the second temple! (The best current theory is that the place of refuge will be Bozrah). Those who are currently being misled by the pre – tribulationists (Tim LaHaye, Left Behind, John Hagee Christian Zionists, and pretty much the vast majority of the fundamentalists and evangelicals) and the mid – tribulationists will have to endure the second half of the tribulation. WE WILL ALL HAVE TO ENDURE THE FIRST HALF, AND ONLY A FEW WILL MISS THE SECOND.

What does this have to do with Don Imus? Well, it appears that all of these Christians that contributed to and are so gleefully cheering the demise of his radio show are not considering that the SUDDEN CRACKDOWN ON CERTAIN BIGOTS NOW WHEN THERE HAVE BEEN BIGOTS ON THE AIRWAVES AND IN THE PRESS FOR DECADES is serving a larger agenda. Which is? Setting the stage for true Christianity to be illegal. Denying us education and employment. Making it a crime to preach the gospel. And so forth. Now, all of this is going to happen anyway, of course. BUT SHOULD WE CHRISTIANS BE TRYING TO HELP IT ALONG? I suppose the “John Hagee Christian Zionist push the US into attacking Iran so Jesus Christ will come back” crowd would say so. (Of course, if they weren’t PRETRIBULATIONISTS they would PROBABLY SEE THINGS A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY, WOULDN’T THEY? Everyone wants the rapture to hurry up and come NOW, but tell them that they will have to go through tribulation first, and the vast majority will quickly change to RAPTURE HURRY UP AND WAIT.)  Now do not get me wrong, evil is evil. Imus’ little act was evil, and Christians were right to oppose it. But shouldn’t there be a way to do this without furthering the agenda of the anti – Christ?

So, Christians who are jumping up and down cheering at how Don Imus’ bloody scalp is now pinned to the wall of the speech code mob (I mean come on, if it was really about respecting black women, wouldn’t they have gone after RAPPERS by now? even WHITE ones, like Eminem? And Quentin Tarantino is not a rapper, but where is the mob over HIS racist work?) please try to understand rather than accusing me of being insensitive to blacks and women and their emotions over the evil words of one Don Imus. Instead, let me see if I can explain this in the “multiculturalism diversity tolerance” language that I learned all those times that I was sent to human resources for “training seminars” every time that I offended someone at work. The anti – Christ will persecute Christians during the great tribulation. Black people are disproportionately Christian. Women are disproportionately Christian. Black women are disproportionately Christian. So, the anti – Christ’s persecution of the church will have a disparate negative impact against blacks, women, and ESPECIALLY black women like Rutgers basketball coach Vivian Stringer, a Christian. Therefore, the anti – Christ’s persecution of the church will be RACIST and SEXIST. So please, Christians of all sexes and races, do not contribute to the anti – Christ’s racism and sexism (or anything else for that matter). As Christians we must zealously oppose all sin with the gospel, but when it comes to sin (Imus’ remarks) versus sin (the political correctness agenda) either oppose them both without being used by either, or just sit on the sidelines and let God take care of it.

  1. Christians Who Wanted Imus Gone Could Be Pointing a Gun Right at Themselves.

So I’ve been having some conversation with my brother over at Heal The Land With Spiritual Warfare about some biblical matters. I never said how persecution of Imus by Christians that refuse to let that petty matter drop could end up stabbing u…

  3. A post-tribulation rapture is absolutely essential knowledge for today’s Christian. Those who do not realise this could fall away from the faith when tribulation and persecution comes…which it will and SOON.

  4. Adam said

Paul said that day shall not come except there come a falling away first and the man of sin be revealed, what part of that is so hard to understand?
And what should be the nail in the coffin so to speak is Yeshua’s words (wich are the supreme court of the scripture) AFTER THE TRIBULATION, Every theologion on earth can tell me before but if Yeshua said after, I’m going with him.

    Adam.

  5. Pre-trib, Mid-trib, Post-trib…
    Rapture…
    Man of lawlessness…
    The temple and the abomination…

    I have a thought for all tribbers…
If Yeshua said that NOT one stone shall be left upon another…what does that mean? I know that my L_rd is not a liar in what he said, and nor does he only partially tell the truth, so if he says, “Not one stone shall be left upon another,” what are all those people doing at the Western Wall? How is it that the Dome of the Rock is upon a foundation that supposedly was demolished? I can only conclude one thing from his teachings, and that is that since there are still stones standing one on top of another, that there will still be one more destruction of the Temple Mount. Otherwise my L_rd is a liar. If the stones are still there, it means even they will be torn down! Watch out Jerusalem. More is coming.
As far as the pre, mid, post-tribulation stuff, why do we still talk in doctrinal circles? Revelations is what it is, and I can tell you that the harvest written in it, is not a harvest of righteousness. Rapturist, beware of your doctrine. Because just as anyone else can take scriptures and make them fit, may be I should do the same, just for you…

“Every eye shall see the coming of the L_rd”…this is quoted and they say that with the advance technology that we will see him all at the same time through TV, internet and even cell phones…right?
Well here is my take on the rapture using the same technique:
“Those who are dead in Christ shall be caught up with those who are still alive” (I paraphrase), well can’t I use the same argument for the media in this event too? Can’t I just say that those who come to life by the renewing of their hearts to the word of G_d, are joined with those who are brimming with life in him, and together we are joined in the sky via the airwaves? Cable TV, cellphones, satelite? We speak right now to one another right, and how is that accomplished? Are we not communicating in the air?
That would be heretical wouldn’t it? But it sounds good. In this life we can make so much out of the doctrines of men. But what if that is the rapture? So many preachers have claimed that their fathers longed to understand Revelations, but much of the technology wasn’t created back then. Hagee’s father did. So if every one will see him coming with his angels, why can’t we say that the rapture takes place daily? That would be weird wouldn’t it! People will believe what they want to believe. They want to believe that they will be taken out of this world before it gets really bad, but it testifies against them, that they never did the work that Yeshua set out for them to do. If all believers from the beginning would have carried out the work of Christ, there would be no need for the book of Revelations. But the work of the end times is to demonstrate that we never listened or understood, even though he has given us all power and dominion. It is Yeshua telling us that he loves us anyway, and that his grace covers us now in the time to come, and even though he knew that we would not all do the work he had set before us, he told us ahead of time, to show his unfailing love and committment to us, in the face of our unfaithfulness. So rapture theory is a trap that admits that we have not done our job and we want a way out. I would rather continue believing his words to us when he said the Kingdom of G_d is in you. So whether I am here on earth, or taken to be with him in heavenly places, I am with him. Heaven is being with him. Rapturist are looking for that vindication that says “See, I told you so!” I told you he was coming, and now because you didn’t believe, you get to stay here! It is the spoiled rich kid syndrome. Spoiled rich kids are only interested in getting their way.
How about when it says that the dead in Christ shall arise first, and be joined with those still living, then can we say that when the dead sea scrolls were found and brought out of their tomb, they now stand and testify for G_d, a great army of G_d. Our G_d is not the G_d of the dead, but of the living, so why do we teach dead faith?

  6. Eden Hadassah:

Revelation says what it says. So does Matthew 24, for that matter. The Day of the Lord will come when Christ comes at His second advent to defeat the enemies of God at Armaggeddon, and the saints and the angels will return with Him. Then Christ will reign for 1000 years, and then there will be the great white throne judgment. Saying that Revelation would have never needed to have been written had the believers done their job in the outset is questionable. The Pauline epistles, Romans I believe, said that the end could not come until the gospel was preached to all nations. Revelation was written in AD 95, less than 70 years after the death of Christ, at the very latest, and some even claim that Revelation was written BEFORE the Gospel of John was!

Besides, the most important part of Revelation is NOT chapters 4 – 22, but rather 1 – 3. Chapter 1 is the vision of the glorified Christ, 2 – 3 are the warnings to the church as represented by the 7 congregations in Asia. If we let the vision in chapter 1 spur us to take the warnings in 2 and 3 seriously and apply them to ourselves, then chapters 4 – 22 will take care of itself.

  7. I was being sarcastic when I said what I said…I guess I was still fuming from the “governers” comments!
My point is that Revelation shows the great and unfailing love of G_d in the face of those who claim to worship and follow him. It is a testament to his grace, and a warning of his justice. Yeshua will return, no doubt about it, but what I am concerned about is the mixing of all the other scriptures in both the old and the new, and joining everything together as a cohesive theology. I am concerned about taking the book of Daniel, mixing it with bits of the gospel, adding some of the psalms, merging the statements in the books of Thessalonians and then making a new version of Revelation. It is stated in Revelations that we should not add to, nor take away any of the words written in Revelations. This concerns me about some of the messages that I have heard concerning end time prophecy.
Many are so quick to add to it, because of the other prophets, but I must caution against combining all these scriptures together. It is however, I believe good to reflect on those other prophecies and take them for what they are too.
One of the things that has astounded me in all the theological discussions I have heard on endtime prophecy, is that no one has even taken the time to read in full the Song of Moses. It is a part of Revelations, yet only a small portion is touched upon in the Revelation. I think that it wasn’t completely included because of it’s length. There is so much explained in the Song of Moses, and it is said that “they will sing the song of Moses.” Wow…it is not the most uplifting song I ever heard, but at the same time, I believe that it sheds a lot of light on Revelational matters.
I appologize if I came across crass in the last entry. I believe every word that Yeshua says. I do not understand all things, but in time, he always is faithful to increase my faith and show me something new. The things I do not understand, I am not ready for, and in this I am patient.

  8. Eden Hadassah: There is nothing wrong with constructing doctrine by adding together bits of the Bible on the same topic. As a matter of fact, that is what the field of systematic theology does! It is particularly appropriate with Revelation, because Revelation quite frankly does contain and expound upon material stated earlier. As to “the governor”, that turned out to be a spam solicitation that somehow got past my spam blocker.

  9. There are many references that can be pulled together, after all we are talking about the word of G_d, and his hand is upon all of it, so a common thread goes through out. But because of what is cautioned in Revelation about adding to his words, I have to believe the word of G_d over men that may decide to compile theology.
It is all reflective of G_d’s work.
But just as many theologians have confused in many cases, things that would have been simple if they would have let the Holy Spirit teach, the same holds true for Revelation.
There is much imagery with these texts, with all the animals and creatures, and other types of signs, that a dominate thought from a “scolar”, can in fact be in error when they try to name what each of these things stand for.
Take for instance in the book of Isaiah where he was talking about the wolf and the lamb, and about the child sticking his hand in the viper’s nest. The Lion eating straw. These all have to do with the children of Jacob, but popular opinion has made it about what heaven will be like at the end of time. The passage is about reconciliation between brothers.
The same with vines, figs, fruit, mulberry trees, thorns and thistles, myrtle, olive, wheat, tares, sheep, goats, etc. These represent certain people, yet many do not dig deeper. It is often just this or that, nothing more. Just when we get to think we have something pegged, he takes our blinders off and shows us more.

    Blessings.
