The Libertarian View Of Warfare According To The Book Of Mormon

Posted by Job on February 18, 2008

Please note: If I wanted to make stuff like this up I would not be able to.

From LewRockwell.com’s Open Letter To Mormons Regarding Ron Paul. Certainly he who taught that to inherit eternal life we must “love thy neighbor as thyself” would be deeply concerned with the destruction of life so rampant in the world today. Since we live in a time of “wars and rumors of wars,” it is of supreme importance that we gain gospel insight into the just causes for supporting war.

Much of the Book of Mormon is devoted to war, which was a continual plague in ancient America. When were the followers of Christ justified in taking part in this destruction of life? Alma 43:47 states “And again, the Lord has said that: Ye shall defend your families even unto bloodshed. Therefore for this cause were the Nephites (i.e. the followers of Christ) contending with the Lamanites (i.e. those who were attacking the Nephites), to defend themselves, and their families, and their lands, their country, and their rights, and their religion.” In Alma 48:14 we read “Now the Nephites were taught to defend themselves against their enemies, even to the shedding of blood if it were necessary; yea, and they were also taught never to give an offense, yea, and never to raise the sword except it were against an enemy, except it were to preserve their lives.” Thus, defense of rights was the only moral justification for war and the aggressive use of force was against the will of God. As followers of the “Prince of Peace,” we are still bound by these principles today.

This being said, should America continue the war in Iraq, attack Iran before they supposedly develop a nuclear weapon, and continue the ill-defined war on Terrorism? I submit to you that the answer is emphatically “NO.”

First of all, the war against Iraq is not defensive. For those who believe that the September 11th atrocities were an unprovoked attack by Muslim extremists, there is no proof that the prior Iraqi regime had anything to do with these attacks. Furthermore, the Iraqi government never directly attacked the United States of America. This is a preemptive war, which is the shedding of blood of those who have not given an offense, and is not justifiable before the Lord.

However, even if we suppose that the war in Iraq was defensive, the Iraqi government which “attacked” us no longer rules the country. Since the so-called offender has been eliminated, it follows that we are no longer defending ourselves against an enemy who gave the initial offense. The most benign reason for our continued waging of war in Iraq is to build a democratic government and bring stability to this region. This is not a moral basis for our continued bloodshed of the people in this region. If the French government had kept a military presence in the American states after the Revolutionary War, the patriots would have attacked them too.

The Book of Mormon provides us with the example of Captain Moroni, who was the great military leader of the Nephites during much of their warfare. After he had defeated a Lamanite army and the attacking king had been killed (effectively destroying the Lamanite government and bringing “instability” to the Lamanite people), Moroni did not lead an army down to the Lamanite lands to ensure the establishment of a democratic government which would be friendly to the Nephites. We are specifically told that immediately afterward he put his efforts toward preparing the Nephite lands against any future attacks (Alma 62:42). Allowing the defeated aggressors to sort out their own governmental affairs was clearly his policy. After Captain Moroni had repelled a prior attack, we read “And the armies of the Nephites, or of Moroni, returned and came to their houses and their lands” (Alma 44:22). We have no moral basis for remaining in Iraq to assist in the creation and stabilization of the new Iraqi government. We need to immediately cease the American slaughter of Iraqis and all others who have not attacked our own families, lands, rights, and religion.

The Book of Mormon also provides us with another clear admonition not to be the aggressors of war in 3 Nephi chapter 3. Just prior to this time, the Nephites very own government leaders had conspired together to violate the God-given rights of the individuals in the land (sounds familiar). The people eventually rose up and threw the oppressors, or Gadianton robbers as they were called, out of their land. The Gadianton robbers then proceeded to attack them from the outside “and did slay so many people, and did lay waste so many cities, and did spread so much death and carnage throughout the land” that the people decided to join together “to take up arms against them” (3 Nephi 2:11).

Initially the Nephites were able to ward off the attacks of the Gadianton robbers. However, after the Gadiantons had gained more strength, they sent a letter to the leader of the Nephites demanding surrender or the robbers would “let fall the sword upon you even until ye shall become extinct” (3 Nephi 3:8). At this point, the Nephites demanded of their leader, who we are told had the spirit of revelation, “Pray unto the Lord, and let us go up upon the mountains and into the wilderness, that we may fall upon the robbers and destroy them in their own lands” (3 Nephi 3:20). In today’s language, they wanted “to fight the terrorists over there so they would not come over here.” What was his answer? “The Lord forbid; for if we should go up against them the Lord would deliver us into their hands; therefore we will prepare ourselves in the center of our lands, and we will gather all our armies together, and we will not go against them, but we will wait till they shall come against us; therefore as the Lord liveth, if we do this he will deliver them into our hands” (3 Nephi 3:21).

The Nephites, who were repeatedly attacked by the Gadiantons in the past and were directly and credibly threatened with aggression once again, were not justified by the Lord in going into the terrorists’ lands to attack. With this being understood, on what principled basis are we justified in preemptively attacking Iran or any other country that has not attacked us in the past nor threatened to make us extinct if we did not completely submit to them?

We have been warned, in the Book of Mormon as well as by modern-day church leaders, that the destruction of our society will be due to the corruption of our own government from within and not from a foreign enemy. James Madison gave us this same warning – “If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.”

Fortunately during this election we have a good and honest man who would strictly follow the Constitution as President. As a congressman, Ron Paul has used the Constitution as his iron rod for 10 terms. As a presidential candidate, he has repeatedly stood by the Constitution in its entirety, even when those in the “great and spacious building” have continually mocked him for doing so. He is also the only candidate from both major parties who “renounce(s) war and proclaim(s) peace” (D&C 98:16). It is my hope that the LDS people will put their full support behind Ron Paul and valiantly defend their agency.

NO WE CAN’T! BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA IS A FALSE CHRIST!

Posted by Job on February 14, 2008

(2 Peter 2:1, Lamentations 2:14, Jeremiah 14:14, Matthew 24:24)

“For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and
wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.” JESUS CHRIST

NO WE CAN’T! The cult of B. Hussein Obama. Remember I told you there would
be a revival in this nation this year. Well, before we see a true spiritual
revival that will bring millions to faith in Christ and help lead this
nation back to God and Biblical values, there is going to be a “faux
revival” led by the latest preacher of false hope, B. Hussein Obama. Obama
is running for the Democratic Party’s nomination to try and become the next
President of the United States. He is preaching a gospel of change and
hope. Thousands are flocking to his campaign rallies and becoming
emotionally charged as this “political evangelist” preaches about hope and
change. The problem is he is a false prophet and no true follower of Christ
can follow or support this “false messiah of hope and change!”

Very troubling to me has been watching the “revival-like” atmosphere
surrounding B. Hussein Obama’s campaign for the Presidency. Like all false
prophets, it is a false gospel with lots of smoke and mirrors. I think
people would be troubled to know that the flowery rhetoric flowing from
Obama isn’t coming from his heart, but from a 26-year-old white man named
Jon Favreau. Favreau is the author of those flowery and dynamic hope and
change messages you hear, not B. Hussein Obama. Obama has even had some
input from legendary JFK speechwriter Ted Sorensen who is now 79.

Want another interesting fact about B. Hussein Obama. As someone who has
done live TV every night for 5 yrs, if you watch Obama, he only gives those
stirring hope and change speeches when he has a teleprompter so he can READ
HIS LINES! This man is a complete fraud! When he is without a
teleprompter, he resorts back to his typical stump speech on the issues.
This “false messiah” of hope so many are clinging to, isn’t even the author
of his message of false hope and is incapable of delivering those passionate
speeches without a teleprompter!

Before I get any further into this Devotional today, sadly I have to stop
and address something I have already been accused of just by announcing I
would be dealing with Obama today. Anyone who has ready my Devotionals
knows that I am not in any way shape or form a racist. You need to go my
Devotional archives on the Liveprayer.com website and search for the
Devotionals I have written on racism. The fact is, half of the Board of my
Ministry are African-American men. Of the 2.4 million subscribers to the
Daily Devotional, there are Whites, Blacks, Asians, Hispanics, people of
every race in all parts of the world.

In the first 3 years of my ministry when I preached in over 500 churches
around the country, I mainly started out preaching in black churches in
Chicago where I was based, through doors opened by the men on my Board. One
of my dearest friends is the legendary civil rights leader Dr. Clay Evans of
Fellowship Baptist Church in Chicago. Dr. Evans has always referred to me
as his “white son.” He honored me by letting me preach his broadcast
service from the “Ship” as it is known on several occasions, one of the only
white preachers to have done so.

What I am sharing about Obama today has NOTHING to do with the color of his
skin. It has everything to do with his stand on the spiritual issues of our
day and the fact he takes stands in complete opposition to the Bible and
God! That is why a true follower of Christ can’t support B. Hussein Obama.
You don’t need to look any further than his stand on abortion. Forget his
weasel rhetoric. The FACT is, B. Hussein Obama supports a woman’s right to
kill her baby. Obama supports the legalized slaughter of babies. There is
really nothing more a true follower of Christ needs to know about this man.
But that is not all. B. Hussein Obama also supports redefining God’s Holy
Institution of Marriage to include people who choose to engage in deviant
sexual acts with others of the same sex. How can a true follower of Christ
support a man who wants to change God’s definition of this most holy union
of marriage?

What is most troubling to me is that B. Hussein Obama claims to be a
Christian. Only God knows his heart, but Jesus said, “If you love me, you
will obey me,” not live in rebellion to me. If B. Hussein Obama is truly a
follower of Christ, how can he vote to support the legalized slaughter of
babies and the redefining of God’s Holy Institution of Marriage? Let me
dispel an Internet rumor. Obama is NOT a Muslim. However, he did grow up
in Muslim culture. Your life experiences shape who you are, so while not
being a Muslim, he is no doubt sympathetic to the issues Muslims face.

Let me be blunt. Islam is a false religion of hate and death, a 1400 year
old lie dreamed up by a murdering pedophile named Mohammed. They have a
very real goal of destroying this nation and all who live here who refuse to
convert to their false religion. While those who seek to make Islam more
acceptable and mainstream talk about peace, the fact is, ALL Muslims are
guided by the same book of fantasies Mohammed inspired, the Qu’ran. Their
book clearly calls for the DEATH of all infidels, and that means all
Christians and anyone else who won’t convert. They routinely execute
Christians in other parts of the world, and would do so here in a heartbeat
if they could get away with it. While B. Hussein Obama is NOT a Muslim, due
to his life experiences, he is clearly sympathetic to Muslims, the ones who
want to see this nation destroyed and all who live here who won’t convert to
their false religion dead!

B. Hussein Obama is part of this new movement I have warned you about, the
Religious Left. In case you have been sleeping, there is a new group of
people in our nation who call themselves the “religious left.” This is a
relatively new term so you may not be familiar with it. That is why I felt
it was so critical to take the time today to insure you not only understood
what it means, but who actually makes up this new group of people. Forty
years ago, this group didn’t even exist. They have actually evolved and
grown tremendously over the past decade.

The “religious left” is made up of people who identify themselves as
Christians and hold strong religious beliefs as well as sharing left-wing
ideals. Obviously, this group has risen up in opposition to those who have
been tagged the “religious right” or the “Christian right.” The “Christian
right” is that group of Bible-believing Christians who are politically
active and seek to elect to office those candidates who hold to Biblical
values on the key spiritual issues of our day that are also political
issues.

These would be issues like abortion and life related matters, gay marriage,
family issues, the proliferation of the pornography industry, and the drive
to remove God from the public square. Those in the “religious left” actually
take an anti-Biblical position on these issues and are also heavily involved
in the ecumenical movement, environmental issues, opposing war for any
reason, world hunger, and social issues like healthcare, welfare, and
education.

Interesting that B. Hussein Obama’s first bill as a United States Senator
was a world hunger relief bill that they are trying to ramrod through as we
speak. This would force the United States to pay apx. $900 billion MORE
than we already spend on world hunger. While we have to do our best to feed
the hungry, I guess Obama never read where Jesus said, “The poor you will
have with you always.”

There is nothing wrong with pursuing these noble social issues, Believers
should be more involved on those fronts. The problem with this group is
their anti-Biblical position on the key spiritual issues of our day and
their involvement in these ecumenical movements that require you to set
aside the Absolute Truths of the Bible. However, they support the legalized
slaughter of babies, redefining marriage to include men with men and women
with women, perverting the family by brining children into homes with
homosexual parents, and embrace ecumenical fellowships with all of the cults
and false religions of the world. They deny the inspiration and inerrancy of
the Bible, have rejected God’s Word for the Absolute Truth it represents,
and have bought into the lie of the world that there are “many roads that
lead to God.” These are the people who make up the “religious left!”

B. Hussein Obama’s church is the liberal Trinity United Church of Christ in
Chicago, pastored by the racist Dr. Jeremiah Wright. Wright preaches a
message of black separatism and is a racist in every sense of the word. The
UCC is one of the most liberal denominations there is. They ordain
practicing homosexuals, support slaughtering babies, and preach the social
Gospel of the religious left, having abandoned the inspiration of the Word
and preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. The queen of the New Age
witches, Oprah, also calls Trinity UCC her church.

A modern day foe of God, Barry Lynn of Americans United for Separation of
Church and State is ordained thru this liberal and ungodly denomination.
Lynn has made it his life’s work to try and silence and destroy true works
of God, and last year came after Liveprayer for my stand on satanic cult
member Mitt Romney, by trying to get the IRS to take away our tax-exempt
status. His efforts failed because we did nothing wrong. The fact is, Lynn
has tried to get the IRS to revoke the tax-exempt status of over 70 churches
and ministries over the years, and has failed to be successful even once!

I love you and care about you so much. Revival is currently sweeping the
land, however, it is not the spiritual revival that will be coming very
soon. This current revival is a political one that has transcended into an
emotional charged movement of false hope and promises. The leader of this
cult-like movement is B. Hussein Obama. He is no more the next savior of
this nation than I am the next great heart surgeon, and I hate blood! I am
not even going to talk about his inexperience and the great peril all
Americans will be in with this “child” at the helm in today’s complex and
dangerous world of terror and global economics. I’m not even going to talk
about the fact he is the most liberal of the 50 United States Senators and
what his Presidency would do to this nation. I am most concerned with
people who know the Lord getting caught up in and becoming part of this
movement of hype and false hope.

My friend, the only true hope is Jesus. The only true answers are found in
the Word of God. God gave us in black and white in the Bible, specifically
how to deal with all of the issues in our lives and in this world. More
troubling than anything is that Obama won’t even speak in specifics, only
flowery platitudes. Once you tear away the hype, the smoke and mirrors, all
you are left with is empty rhetoric that inspires people and makes them feel
good, but leads them nowhere. However, it is empty since it doesn’t give
them any real direction. Hope is the greatest gift one person can give to
another, however, if that hope is in anything else but the Lord and His Word
it is false hope.

What we do know about B. Hussein Obama is that he supports the slaughtering
of innocent babies and trying to redefine God’s Holy Institution of Marriage
to include those who choose to engage in deviant forms of sex. Both
positions clearly in rebellion to the Lord and to the Bible. Obama, like
each follower of Christ has to heed the words of Jesus and decide which
master he is going to serve. You can only serve one. I am challenging you
today to decide who YOU are going to follow, B. Hussein Obama, the most
recent false messiah, or Jesus Christ, the true Messiah!!!

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Doctors Say Babies That Survive Abortions Must Be Given Care Even If Mother Opposes!

INCONTROVERTIBLE PROOF THAT ABORTION DOCTORS ARE MURDERERS!

Breaking Christian News – Printer-Friendly Version

Italian Doctors: Abortion Survivors must be given Care, Even Against Mother’s Wishes
by Matthew Cullinan Hoffman : Feb 7, 2008 : LifeSiteNews
http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2008/feb/08020601.htmlThe declaration “has fallen like a bomb among scientists and politicans.”

18 week Preborn Baby(Rome)—Doctors from four different Roman universities have issued a joint declaration affirming the duty of doctors to rescue and care for infants born alive after an abortion attempt, even against the wishes of the mother. (Photo: Lifesite.net)

The declaration, made by doctors at the obstetric clinics of La Sapienza, Tor Vergata, Campus Biomedico and Sacro Cuore, represent both the secular and religious sides of the Italian university system. The first two universities are public, and the second two are Catholic.

“An extremely premature newborn must be treated like any other person in danger, and assisted adequately,” said Domenico Arduni, director of the Tor Vergata gynecological clinic.

Arduini added that this principle would hold even if the child had survived an abortion, and “even if the mother is not in agreement.”

The four physicians issued the statement together during a meeting at Fatebenefratelli hospital in Rome last Saturday. According to the Spanish publication El Pais, the doctors’ declaration and the Vatican’s recent campaign for a “moratorium” on abortion in Italy (which has now become a global campaign), “has fallen like a bomb among scientists and politicians.”

Emma Bonino, the Italian Minister of European Policy, complained to El Pais that “the political class should not allow others to set their agenda.” The Italian health minister, Livia Turco, told the publication that protecting the life of such children was “senseless cruelty.” A prominent physician reportedly suggested that abortions be done by poisoning the baby with potassium chloride, thus ensuring his death before exiting the womb.

However, the ANSA news agency reports that the liberal bioethicist Cinzia Caporale has endorsed the physicians’ declaration, stating that while she is in favor of allowing euthanasia for adults who want it, children who leave the womb alive should be cared for, even against the will of the parents. “I don’t even consider their consent necessary if the fetus has survived an abortion,” she said.

Gold Hits Record After Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke Speech

Posted by Job on January 11, 2008

Original link.By JACKIE FARWELL – 1 day ago

NEW YORK (AP) — Gold soared to a record high Thursday after Federal
Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke pledged to cut interest rates,
undermining the dollar and boosting demand for the metal as a safe
investment.

Other precious metals traded mixed, and agricultural futures fell.

Bernanke
said the central bank was ready to act aggressively to prevent the
economy, weakened by turmoil in the housing and credit markets, from
sliding into a recession.

Some economists predict the Fed will
slash its key interest rate by a half percentage point it meets Jan.
29-30. Others expect a more modest quarter percentage point cut, in
light of high energy prices and inflation worries.

An ounce of
gold for February delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange jumped
to $897.30, a fresh high, before easing back to $892.80, up $11.10.

The
precious metal could hit the psychologically important $900 mark during
the session, said Carlos Sanchez, a precious metals analyst with CPM
Group in New York.

“I wouldn’t be surprised to see a sell-off on profit-taking after prices hit that level,” he said.

Silver
for March delivery added 41 cents to $16.25 an ounce on the Nymex,
while March copper fell less than a penny to $3.2735 a pound.

Gold
has soared during the past year on its appeal as a hedge against
inflation and as a safe investment in times of political and economic
uncertainty. Gold breached its historic high of $875 an ounce, set in
1980, on Tuesday.

Still, the precious metal remains well below
that level when adjusted for inflation. Gold would need to reach $2,115
to $2,200 an ounce to surpass its 1980 record.

The dollar fell
following Bernanke’s comments, feeding traders’ appetite for gold. The
euro rose to $1.4796 in afternoon trading.

Lower interest rates
can weaken a currency and prompt investors to shift funds to hard
assets. A cheap dollar can make commodities more attractive as an
alternative investment, and can also raise demand from foreign buyers
as their currencies gain strength.

The dollar had weakened
earlier against the euro after European Central Bank President
Jean-Claude Trichet said the bank is ready to act “pre-emptively” to
counter inflation with future rate hikes. Both the ECB and the Bank of
England voted to keep their benchmark interest rates unchanged.

Weighing on gold’s rise was a sharp drop in oil futures on growing fears that a U.S. economic slowdown could dampen demand.

Light,
sweet crude for February delivery fell $1.07 to $94.60 a barrel on the
New York Mercantile Exchange, after dipping as low as $93.30 earlier.

Bernanke’s
speech followed an unimpressive jobless claims report and came one day
after Goldman Sachs predicted a recession this year.

The Labor
Department reported Thursday that 322,000 people filed applications for
jobless benefits, down by 15,000 from the previous week. However,
analysts said the decline reflected difficulties in adjusting the
figures around the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Agricultural futures traded lower Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat
for March delivery fell 3.5 cents to $8.86 a bushel, while March corn
lost 1.25 cent to $4.76 a bushel. March oats dropped 2.5 cents to $3.25
a bushel and March soybeans lost 3.5 cents to $12.59 a bushel.

Mike Huckabee Is Insane And Dangerous

Posted by Job on January 10, 2008

On the Fox News debate tonight, the moderator directed a question to Mike Huckabee on what his response would be in the case of another incident like the Iranian gunboat confrontation. Huckabee, totally unprepared for the very simple question, gives a rambling incomprehensible initial response, but closes with “I will make it clear to them that the gates of hell will be unleashed upon them” in his preacher conviction voice. And, to my shock, the South Carolina crowd began to vigorously applaud! Now Ronald Reagan’s claiming that America was New Jerusalem with his “shining city on the hill” rhetoric (appeals to the Mormon belief that New Jerusalem and the garden of Eden’s location in Missouri or thereabouts perhaps?) was bad enough, but doesn’t a preacher invoking apocalyptic rhetoric towards an Iranian confrontation concern anybody but me?

What was far worse was that the cheering audience members seemed to have NO IDEA how so utterly wrong this was on so many levels, starting with theological ones. Now I found out that Hillary Clinton is insane for the first time yesterday. I already knew this about the cross dresser shoot unarmed black men dead in the streets and then accuse them of being drug dealers late term abortion supporting Rudy Giuliani and the Star Trek Deep Space Nine shape shifting chameleon Mitt Romney. And then there is, you know, Ron Paul. I was going to vote for Ron Paul. Did you know that? Anyway. But I did not know this about Hillary until yesterday or Huckabee hound until today. So what is the deal with all of the psychotic people running for president this year? Has it always been this way?

But the scary part is not Huckabee himself. There are going to be crazy people until Jesus Christ comes back. It is the gleeful response of the South Carolina debate attendees. That means that just in that very room there were hundreds of people willing and gleeful to follow this crazy man into the apocalypse. I could not help thinking that these are the very people that will one day follow the beast, commonly called the anti – Christ.

Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee, George W. Bush’s Biggest Critics In GOP Primary, Win 45% Of Iowa Vote!

Posted by Job on January 4, 2008

That is one angle that the media seems to have ignored. Initially I supported Mike Huckabee and then Ron Paul before rejecting both for reasons that I will not get into. One of the reasons why I supported either at one time or another was because of their willingness to criticize George W. Bush, which I consider a basic starting point for any moral and honest human being. (Refusing to do so means that you are so determined to win and so fearful to step out on the truth that you fail to so much as even acknowledge Bush’s poll numbers and as such pretend that all of those people are wrong for holding things like Halliburton corruption, Blackwater, corporate welfare, No Child Left Behind, prescription drugs, amnesty for illegal immigrants, and putting Michael Brown over FEMA are either ill – informed or communist Islamist traitors with bad family values.)

The conventional wisdom was that criticizing Bush was suicide in a GOP primary. The National Review went as far as to say that a Republican criticizing Bush during a Republican primary basically amounts to some sort of treason (yes we are at war!) and that Huckabee deserves nothing but contempt for it. But now we see the results: the two biggest critics of Bush policy in the GOP race, Huckabee (see here as well from this blog) and Paul, carried almost half the vote.

Add longtime Bush critic John McCain to the mix and the Iowa total jumps to 58%, and please recall that McCain is leading in Iowa.  Best of all: Huckabee, Paul, and McCain are the three lowest funded and most poorly organized candidates among those in double digits. It looks to me like bashing Bush is the winning message in the REPUBLICAN primary, what the voters in their heart of hearts want. So … why aren’t more GOPers giving it to them?

Digital Traffic Cameras Used To Arrest Motorists For Eating And Smoking

Posted by Job on December 29, 2007

More mark of the beast type stuff for the Christians that are into that sort of thing  (which admittedly includes me). But for my “Christians should not be picking the lesser of two evils” conviction, something like this would draw me back into the Ron Paul camp.

Original link: New super-cameras mean no hiding for drivers who smoke, eat or use a phone

Digital speed cameras which capture drivers smoking or eating at the wheel are being introduced nationwide in a new move to hammer motorists. Drivers will also face fines, bans and even jail for infringements such as driving without a seatbelt, using a hand-held mobile phone or overtaking across double white lines. The hi-tech DVD cameras, which have instant playback, will also be used to provide photographic evidence against those eating sandwiches or rolling-up cigarettes at the wheel. These are now considered serious offences under new guidelines drawn up for prosecutors. The development will massively increase the number of fines and prosecutions against normally law-abiding drivers for relatively minor offences.

As well as being fined £60 and given three points on their licences, motorists now face two years in jail if their actions are considered to have been a factor in dangerous driving. (Two years in jail for eating and smoking behind the wheel today, death for possessing a Bible tomorrow.) Virtually every police force in England, Wales and Scotland is now equipped with the new digital cameras. They were given Home Office approval in April but are quietly being rolled out nationwide. More than 100 have been sold. The manufacturers have said their order book is full until next April.

The DVD cameras can operate as conventional speed traps. But thanks to the instant playback, they also double up to photograph motorists flouting laws other than speeding. Set up by a police officer on sites such as motorway bridges, they constantly scan the cars and can digitally record drivers behind the wheel committing a vast array of minor traffic offences.

Crucially the new technology, called Concept, allows officers to play back the footage to locate, view and capture the offence instantly. Photographs taken using the device show how effective it is, capturing pictures such as a man apparently steering his Renault with his bare feet and the driver of an Alfa Romeo with a mobile phone clamped to his ear. The device is made and sold by Tele-Traffic UK whose CEO, Jon Bond, is a former police chief superintendent in charge of speed cameras in Warwickshire. (Benito Mussolini said that the definition of fascism is the corporatization of government power. See this link on fascism.)

He said: “It is the first camera to record offences other than speeding and give an instant playback.”If the camera is being used for speed enforcement, but the police officer spots another driving offence being committed – or even thinks he saw something – he can play it back in a second. The offences are easily and quickly detectable.” (In version 2.0 of this technology, people will be able to quickly and easily doctor the footage to implicate in crimes whoever the government wants to destroy.) Mr Bond, whose Warwick-based company employs 20, added: “At present, officers can record an offence such as driving with a mobile phone clamped to their ear or without a seatbelt but would then have to look through perhaps two hours of tape in order to find it again. “Concept means that those operating the camera can digitally log everything. They are linked to the team in the back office who can instantly find the offence, see the proof and send out a penalty charge notice to the car’s registered owner. “This will cut down massively on the amount of time police officers have to spend on paperwork and so speed up prosecutions. The days of the police having to chase after people who are infringing the law in these ways are gone. That will make the roads a safer place.” (Fascists have always used public safety as a justification for their crimes, going back to the days of the Roman Empire’s notorious Pax Romana, “peace of Rome”. Many theologians assert that the beast of Revelation prophecy was fulfilled in the near term by the Roman Empire, but that the far term fulfillment will be the anti – Christ’s regime. The problem is that because of the conservative ideological and political bent of most that interpret the Bible literally, they are convinced that the anti – Christ’s regime will be a leftist one rather than one that will use religion and big business towards his own ends.)

The Concept digital DVD technology costs £17,750. But police forces who already use Tele-Traffic’s existing analogue (non-digital) system, can upgrade for a fraction of that price. Smoking at the wheel was recently included in the Highway Code as something which courts can consider as a factor when police accuse drivers of failing to have proper control of their vehicle. (Rather, it was recently included as something that they could use as a prototype, test case, trial run, etc. to see if the system could be used to track other things, like possession of Bibles, later on.)

More than 300,000 drivers a day are still illegally using hand-held phones at the wheel, recent government figures revealed. (And they know this how? I bet they have similar statistics on the number of people engaging in LEGAL activities … or at least things that are legal right now.) The penalties for using a handheld phone while driving, which was outlawed in 2003, were increased in February this year from a £30 fine to £60, plus three penalty points. (Please note what I just said about “things that are legal right now.”)
Under new sentencing rules, motorists using hand-held mobile phones could be jailed for two years and be disqualified if this was an aggravating factor in dangerous driving. Those who kill while using a mobile face 14 years behind bars, under a charge of causing death by dangerous driving. (Two years if no one is harmed but only 14 if you kill someone? Proof that the motivation for this is government control and not concern for human life in a nation that has such a shortage of abortion doctors that they are considering training nurses to do the procedure.)

Last October, Mr Bond and his Tele-Traffic team were under fire after admitting to undercover reporters posing as customers that speed cameras were a “scam” and that setting up cameras in new areas was the equivalent of having “a blank chequebook” that would result in “bucketfuls” of cash. (There you go. It will be easy to manipulate this system for the government to manufacture, say, “evidence” that a certain Bible – based preacher or leader of a home church or homeschool movement is a violent child molester.) Self-styled Captain Gatso of the campaign group Motorists Against Detection said: “This is yet another example of the Big Brother surveillance society where there’s no escape from the cameras.” (Notice how the media is doing the job of the state by belittling those that oppose the system.)

If Ron Paul Rejects Evolution Then Why Does He Defend Homosexuality?

Posted by Job on December 28, 2007

See Ron Paul saying that he disbelieves evolution here:

While attempting to employ the “homosexuality is biological” defense here:

Now in defense of Ron Paul, I have always stated that the “homosexuality is biological” argument would tend to oppose the natural selection component of Darwin’s racist tome “Origin of species by means of natural selection or the preservation of favored races in the struggle for life.” Funny how the full title and racist intent of the book is never spoken of by evolution supporters, that is the evolution supporters that are not Hitler Nazi types … and it is funny that the evolution supporters do their best to have you believe that the Hitler Nazi types were Christian creationists other than secular statist evolutionists. Now I do allow that the “random variation” component of evolution would support the existence of the elusive gay gene, but even that does not solve the problem of why this gene would still exist so late in our evolutionary development.

Still, it is curious that Paul would choose to deviate from the biblical worldview in favor of the humanistic pseudoscientific one in the area of the harmful and destructive lifestyle of homosexuality (and as a doctor Paul does know that the homosexual lifestyle is harmful and destructive to one’s physical and mental health) while defending it in evolution (where it can be argued that no real harm can come to the person that chooses to believe in it).

Mike Huckabee’s Religious Right Crackup: Why The GOP Establishment Truly Loathes Him

Posted by Job on December 21, 2007

First, you had Roman Catholics declare that evangelicals had BETTER back Mitt Romney or be declared bigots. Second, you had evangelicals going after Mitt Romney. Third you have Pat Robertson endorsing Rudy Giuliani. Fourth you had Mike Huckabee’s rise after his outstanding debate performances, especially the Youtube one. Fifth, you had the hateful Mormon reaction towards Huckabee’s rise, aimed not so much towards Huckabee as his evangelical supporters. Sixth, you had the GOP leadership attacking Huckabee for basically having the same positions as Giuliani and Romney (yes, we know Giuliani openly courted illegal immigrants and blocked enforcement attempts by federal officials, and that Mitt Romney raised taxes and negotiated and signed a $50 abortion universal healthcare plan that will lead to more tax increases in the future, but it was OK when THEY do it because THEY are so like electable or principled or something and Huckabee is not!). Now, we have the clearest example of why the GOP establishment hates Huckabee: the tiff between Roman Catholics and evangelicals. Now the last Vatican Council closed the rift between Catholics and mainline Protestants. Billy Graham and religious right politics brought Catholics and mainstream respectable evangelicals closer together.

But it appears that Huckabee has no interest in being a mainstream respectable evangelical leader like Billy Graham, who sat right before Richard Nixon and did not raise a single voice of objection or even silently get up and leave when Nixon was ranting racist statements in his presence (please keep in mind that Graham is regarded as a civil rights leader) against not only blacks but also the low income whites that made up the bulk of Graham’s most faithful followers. Now if Huckabee were willing to play ball, he could have simply gone to the powers that be and gotten himself a fistful of cash. As it is, Huckabee is going his own way, and it is not a way that pleases the Vatican.

Take Mike Huckabee’s visit to the “church” of John Hagee, whom IndependentConservative has labeled the biggest heretic of 2007 for his preaching a form of dispensational pretribulationism that is so extreme that it denies Christianity. Now Hagee does appropriately oppose the Vatican, but only in a distorted fashion that supports his own devil’s doctrines. But even that is too much for the supporters of the replacement of God on earth, so now we have the National Review’s token minority, Roman Catholic Kathryn Jean Lopez, demanding that Mike Huckabee NOT preach at John Hagee’s church on the grounds that it would divide the Republican Party. Quoting Lopez with my comments, as usual, in italics and parentheses:

With great power comes great responsibility. And Mike Huckabee, once and future Baptist preacher, could afford to watch where he’s taking to the pulpit. That’s “future” because the former evangelical pastor will be at John Hagee’s Cornerstone Church on Sunday. According to a San Antonio Huckabee meetup site, Huckabee will be speaking at two Sunday services at the Texas megachurch. He’ll be making the appearances just days after he told CBS News that “It’s not like [I’m] stepping from the pulpit last Sunday and running for president.”

But maybe next Sunday . . .

The problem with this particular church is its pastor. It is no secret that evangelicals and Catholics have their theological differences. If we didn’t we’d all be under the same church roof like once upon a time. But Hagee has been particularly outspoken beyond his Cornerstone Church, as a supporter of Israel and a prolific writer. His activism has brought some attention to his views on the Catholic Church. In Hagee’s “black history” of the Catholic Church, for example, Catholics were far from only guilty of sins of omission when it came to the Nazis, they also gave Hitler his blueprint, according to Hagee. In a speech this year, Hagee pointed to the Catholic Church as having provided the jumping-off point for the Holocaust, claiming: “That was really drawn by the Roman church. [Hitler] did not do anything differently. He only did it more ruthlessly, and on a national scale.” (This is where Hagee’s doctrinal history is wrong; the Lutheran Church in Germany, which by that time had become a typical secular liberal “Christian values” state church, fully endorsed and supported Hitler to the point where they proclaimed that God had raised up Hitler to restore Germany to greatness. Liberal theologian Karl Barth’s claim to fame was opposing the Lutheran Church in this matter and being proven right by history, even if Barth was right on little else.) The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights has long been concerned about Hagee’s rhetoric, calling him a “veteran bigot,” accusing him of distorting Catholic teachings and misrepresenting Church history. The League has cautioned that, “Tone matters … and Hagee’s tone is nothing but derisive.”

Hagee is politically active and has had candidates at his church before and is likely to again. It’s probably only natural that Huckabee would be among them. And certainly other candidates have courted or been endorsed by religious figures who are not known for their ecumenical diplomacy. But after weeks of being a divider, not a uniter — pretending to innocently raise questions about Mormon theology to a New York Times reporter, informing Today Show viewers that he is really the choice for evangelicals — Huckabee should be sensitive to his unnecessarily exclusionary tactics.

As the former governor of Arkansas, successor to the Little Rock Clinton administration, Mike Huckabee above all people should understand the importance of having a strong coalition to BEAT HER in the fall. Speaking like a man seeking to be president of evangelical America, not president of the United States, Huckabee told Meredith Vieira earlier this week: “There’s a sense in which all these years the evangelicals have been treated very kindly by the Republican party. They wanted us to be a part of it, and then one day, one of us actually runs and they say, ‘Oh, my gosh! Now they’re serious.’” (Of course, this is precisely how non – evangelical supporters have been acting towards his campaign. None of them have even so much as stated that they want to see an evangelical in this race or any other. Quite the contrary, they have made a point of making it clear that they prefer Mormons or even secular candidates to evangelicals at every turn.)

Huckabee, meanwhile, is leaving some non-evangelical conservatives wondering, “Oh, my gosh. Maybe they never wanted to be allied with us.” (No mention that evangelicals are wondering the same.) Huckabee is working right now, intentionally or not, on breaking down a winning coalition of religious conservatives. (Right. The previous traditions of having religious conservatives voting for necromancers like Ronald Reagan and universalist occultists like George H. W. and George W. Bush was so much better, just like everything would be just fine were religious conservatives to vote for Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney now.)

When Pope John Paul II died in 2005, some of the most moving statements coming out of congressional offices were from evangelical conservatives who viewed him as an important leader in defending the sanctity of human life. (Again, you would be fine with evangelicals supporting pro – death Roman Catholic Rudy Giuliani, don’t you? Of course you would.) Many of them had adopted his “culture of life” language and thinking. (Sure, as if evangelicals hadn’t been using that phraseology for decades.) They saw him as an ally and were inspired by his leadership. They joined him, despite theological differences, in important cultural and political fights. It was and is a natural pairing. (It was never a “pairing” but rather Rome using evangelicals to gain power for themselves, a situation that you wish to preserve.) Mike Huckabee, who is not a conservative on all things (Rudy Giuliani is not a conservative on anything but do you mention him? no because he is from New York and a Catholic), but is on social issues, should know that and treasure and protect and foster these alliances. He’s a riveting speaker who could rally social conservatives, at least to whip them up to fight another day. (There. You said it. That is what you want. You have no desire to see an evangelical ever become President or a legitimate leader in the conservative movement. Your only desire is to create another pawn to replace the compromised or fading Pat Robertson, James Dobson, Ralph Reed, etc. to deliver votes to you people.) Instead, he’s executing a divide-and-conquer strategy. (Speaking of “divide and conquer”, what are the many Republican Jews that love John Hagee going to say about your demands that Mike Huckabee not speak at John Hagee’s church because a conservative Catholic insists on a revisionist form of the Holocaust favorable to the Catholic Church be adhered to?)

When Mitt Romney was convinced he had to give a “Mormon speech,” he gave a speech about religious liberty and America. It wasn’t, in other words, about him. Of course, that was, in part, a political calculation — how much could be gained by talking about Mormon theology during a political campaign? But it was also just the right thing. (OK, so willfully deceiving people on matters of faith in order to get them to vote for you is the right thing to do. Gotcha. Thanks for admitting that this is precisely what the GOP has been doing to evangelicals for all these decades and you are angry at Huckabee for not willing to keep the scam going.) It’s a political campaign and people want to hear about his political thinking — what America means to him and how he fits into it all, what he can offer Americans in terms of leadership. (No, evangelicals want to hear him stop claiming that Mormonism is Christianity because unless he does he shows that he has no respect for the same Christians that he hypocritically demands respect from, and is fundamentally dishonest and cannot be trusted in office, as if his betraying the Massachusetts voters by flip – flopping on every single social issue did not demonstrate that already. Ironically, Roman Catholic religious right commentators like yourself and Bob Novak claim that Mitt Romney’s being able to lie and get away with it to the voters of Massachusetts is precisely why evangelicals should support him! In reality, Roman Catholics could care less about whether Romney is going to go back on his promise not to use the White House to promote Mormonism, because they know that relatively few Roman Catholics convert to Mormonism as opposed to huge numbers of evangelicals, and as a matter of fact I would bet they get some sort of perverse pleasure out of seeing evangelicals become Mormons.) Since Mike Huckabee has found himself at the front of the Republican field, it’s been more The Mike Show than not. (And that is different from the other candidates in the race how? Oh, that is right. Only the other candidates are supposed to run races with an actual expectation of winning. Everything evangelicals are supposed to do is to promote the GOP while receiving absolutely nothing in return.) In a treadmill interview with the New York Times earlier this week, he claimed “I’m being questioned about the details of my faith like no one else.” Mitt Romney and Barack Obama might legitimately argue that point, Gov. He’s cast aspersions on another candidate’s religion. (You mean like you are doing his right now?) He’s highlighted hostilities among evangelicals and others in the Republican party. (You mean like you have done with about four or five of your own columns including this one?) If he keeps this up, he’s going to do some unholy damage. (You mean force evangelicals to admit that the GOP is never going to push their agenda and that they have been taken for a ride all this time?)

With all due respect to Hagee and his congregation (who are, of course, entitled to believe and say as they choose), Mike Huckabee should cancel his Sunday plans with Hagee. It can be his Christmas present to his party — to hold it together instead of continuing to tear it apart. (No, even if he does cancel this visit, you will still tear down Huckabee’s campaign by claiming that evangelicals are a bunch of ungrateful dumb bigots like you have been doing for the past month. What you are doing is demanding that evangelicals not fight back.)

This is really what it is all about: Huckabee’s populist economic rhetoric. While Huckabee has not overtly come out against free trade and other forms of economic globalism (regrettably he has done the contrary) Huckabee has been more than willing to rally and exploit the feelings of those harmed and alienated by economic globalism. That was why hypocrite heretic Ron Paul went after Huckabee: he and the Huckster are going after some of the same people. But in doing this, Huckabee is treading on very dangerous ground for the GOP. The left has for years pointed out how the GOP has maintained the support of low – income whites despite their pro – rich and pro – corporate economic views by baiting Hollywood (and our universities) as bastions of anti – Christian elitism. And they are right. But this is the trick. The GOP bashes the liberal PROFESSORS at these universities, not the corporations that endow their chairs and give these universities tons of money. The GOP bashes the liberal Hollywood ACTORS, DIRECTORS, and SINGERS that create anti – Christian movies and songs, NOT Sony, Time Warner, Disney, etc. that have made the conscious decision to pervert the masses.

By keeping the focus on Madonna, they draw the spotlight away from the fact that no one would have heard of this woman in the first place had corporate America not signed her to a record deals, constantly bombarded us with her music, videos, and movies, and continued to keep her in the public eye even after her many artistic and commercial failures (of which she has actually produced more of than her successes). You hate MTV? Good for you. But what about the corporation that owns MTV, and the other corporations that carry it as part of basic cable or satellite? You hate pornography? Good for you. But the Internet pornography industry would dry up overnight if the big banks stopped allowing their credit cards and similar to be used to support this stuff. And then there is the fact that many things vital to conservatism including Fox News are owned by the world’s biggest pornographer Rupert Murdoch!

So when one looks at it, the anti – corporate message (and by that I mean amoral unaccountable global corporations that not only are only interested in money but seem to have figured out that the more they do to destabilize cultures in nation – states the more power they have to control the governments and markets in these nations … if you have a population that is strung out on porn, rock music, sports gambling, and unhealthy foods whether we are talking about the high fat high sugar junk foods or the even more harmful chemically engineered health foods for the body image worshiping diet and exercise fanatics a corporation can easily manipulate it to maximize its power and profits) is actually a pro – Christian, pro – family, and pro – freedom message. What the GOP and the religious right have done is successfully convince white evangelicals that big government is evil (which is true because the Bible says so) BUT THAT BIG BUSINESS IS GOOD (when the Bible says opposite).

Now initially, Jerry Falwell and a lot of the others understandably signed onto the “business is good for Christianity” message to oppose communism, and that is understandable, as in addition to the external threat of the Soviet Union communism was a huge INTERNAL threat as well. But in the process, these folks forgot that the definition of fascism according to Benito Mussolini is “the corporatization of government power.” If you read Daniel and Revelation, the anti – Christ regime and the regime of the great harlot Babylon is not a communist one but a hypercapitalist fascist one where any filthy perversion that one wants can be had at the right price. Also, consider the figure of the false prophet … the anti – Christ’s rule will not be based on atheist Marxist ideology but will include a false religious ideology that will be very important to it. Religious right leaders at the time claimed that the atheist and Marxist doctrines of communism was a religion in its own right, and while I do not disagree, what the eschatological scriptures of the Bible seem to point to resembles much more closely the emperor/sun worship of the Roman Empire or the state religion of fascist Nazi Germany. So it appears that the Christian leaders that hopped onto the pro – business agenda of the Ronald Reagan (who was the first president to have official diplomatic relations with the Vatican) GOP in their zeal to oppose communism might have actually enabled a worse evil. And then you have the fellows that came up after Falwell: Pat Robertson and James Dobson. Pro – business religious right politics was very much in the interests of building their own financial empires … Robertson is reportedly a billionaire (and you know that with his many oil interests he is not the least bit concerned with how the tripling of the price of gas under the Bush administration has harmed the poor) and though Dobson’s finances are not as well known the fellow is obviously extremely wealthy.

But at what cost? China has cast off Maoism because they have discovered that one can become a more powerful and effective aggressor and imperialist using economics than with a military, and is also experimenting with a version of state – sponsored false Christianity that they find is useful to their purposes, and Pat Robertson is helping them in that regards. In Russia meanwhile Vladimir Putin has for all intents and purposes made the Russian Orthodox Church a state church, and the Through The Bible ministry reports that both are working together to oppose evangelical outreach efforts in that nation, and we also know how aggressively Russia has used economics to pursue its own interests. And yes, some would add Israel to that mix. “Christian Zionists” like John Hagee and Pat Robertson do their best to prevent you from knowing this, but Zionism was originally a secular socialist movement, and as such Israel was originally a secular socialist state, but over the decades Israel has become increasingly theocratic and aggressively capitalist. It is interesting to note that their relations with the Vatican have greatly improved during that time. It is even more interesting to note that so has their relations with supposed anti – Catholic evangelicals such as John Hagee. Prior to this, Israel’s support came mostly from the Christian left and the secularists (who have now largely shifted sides to the Palestinians).

So what does this have to do with Rome? Well, the Roman Catholic Church supports globalism. Always has. Now originally, even after Constantine made Christianity the church of the Roman Empire, the bishop of Rome did not have ultimate authority over the church and considerable influence over state matters. As a matter of fact, no one even claimed that the bishop of Rome should have this authority until Leo the Great in about 450 AD (Constantine’s Council of Nicea was 325 AD), and when he did there was considerable resistance from not only the state but the church also! It was not until 150 years later when Gregory I achieved virtually any of what Leo the Great first asserted for the bishop of Rome, and hundreds of years more until the bishop of Rome achieved primary (though not full) power over the church and enough over the state to crown Charlemagne emperor (by Leo III, the namesake of the first fellow to assert full power for the bishop of Rome).

Leo III had reasons for doing so that fit the modern globalist agenda quite nicely. Not only was there substantial opposition inside the church to the growing power of the papacy, but there was state opposition too. The solution: reduce the number of states! That was the result of declaring Charlemagne the sole political ruler of all of the territories that the church saw fit to lay claim to in the west (the eastern church and its lands was a different, more complex story). All dissenters faced the full force of Charlemagne’s army. This was in the papacy’s interests because even having to deal with one secular ruler that proved to be hostile was preferable to dealing with many rulers with varying degrees of support for and opposition to the bishop of Rome. Propagating the power of the bishop of Rome was what was really important, not the attitudes of a particular leader who incidentally can always be replaced (isn’t that right Saddam Hussein?).

So while the nations of this world still have their powerful armies, that is not where the real power in today’s world lies. No, that power rests with 1) financial markets and 2) technology. And just as it was in the 9th century, the more distinct economic and political entities there are, the harder it is for any one person or group that wishes to assert central authority. Despite what we still choose to call or regard ourselves, the net effects of things like global corporations, economic integration, participation in international governing bodies, treaties, and open immigration is the removal of these distinctions. The result is that when individual nations – and the people in them – have less power, stateless global rulers have more. The best part is that whether you sign your national sovereignty away by allowing EU style full economic integration, with a series of military and economic treaties to the United Nations NATO and similar, having an open immigration policy (or simply refusing to enforce your border and not punishing nations like MEXICO that commits economic and cultural acts of war by actively encouraging, aiding, and abetting their citizens – and anyone else – in crossing it) or by simply handing the keys over to AOL Time Warner and British Petroleum and allowing them to run the show, the end result is actually the same. Anyone who refuses to play ball, it seems, either winds up assassinated or seeing their nations turn into economic and political basket cases. If you have huge reserves of oil, uranium, or gold you can stave it off for a time, but only for a time. Never forget that Pat Robertson did urge George W. Bush to assassinate Hugo Chavez, for instance.

Now the folks behind all this are rather crafty. They know that universal acceptance of this situation in this day and time will not come. So what do they do? They take half of their agenda (say corporate globalization by monopolies) and promote it to the right, and then take the other half (unrestricted immigration and global warming treaties) and promote it to the left. Then contrive (and contribute to) a bunch of hot – button issues (i.e. racism, which these folks contribute to by disseminating racist images of blacks to through the media that causes whites to fear the images and blacks to conform to them … by the way the founder of Black Entertainment Television Bob Johnson became a very rich man in a short time thanks to federal rules forcing cable companies to carry BET on basic cable, and please note that both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have Bob Johnson on their speed dials) that keep the two opposing groups so distracted by emotionalism that its members cannot recognize that they were really advocating opposite ends of the same agenda, and causes them to completely ignore it when both groups push precisely the same thing.

The Democrats that opposed NAFTA when George H. W. Bush first proposed it joined in the mocking of H. Ross Perot and later supported it when Bill Clinton enacted it. And the Republicans that called Bill Clinton a communist traitor for working so hard to get China into the WTO – including evangelicals that opposed China’s persecution of Christians not in their state church – either said nothing or supported George W. Bush’s finishing Bill Clinton’s job of getting China into the WTO. NRA – type conservatives that successfully defeated Bill Clinton’s version of the Patriot Act after the Oklahoma City bombings but were either silent or generally supportive of George W. Bush’s Patriot Act after September 11th, which either the Clinton or Bush administration could have easily prevented. Now these same NRA – type conservatives are almost certainly going to back either anti – gun Mitt Romney or anti – gun Rudy Giuliani because one of them is “the most electable” against the even more anti – gun Hillary Clinton. And so on.

Meanwhile, the various interests groups of these camps that think that they oppose each other are conditioned over time to accept just about anything. For instance, had Jimmy Carter signed welfare reform in the 1970s, there would have been a massive leftist uproar. But after the perceived horrors of the Reagan administration and the threat of Newt Gingrich, Bill Clinton was able to invite an overweight black single mother to the welfare reform bill signing without a peep from a single black leader other than Juan Williams. In a similar fashion, had Reagan appointed an openly homosexual man to be his AIDS czar with his vice president refusing to support a political war against gay marriage (and his own homosexual daughter goes on to become “a parent” with her lesbian partner) with Nancy Reagan stating on the Today Show that Roe v. Wade should not be overturned, it would have led to an evangelical walkout from the GOP. But Bush does these things and more and evangelicals remain his most loyal supporters, and now prominent evangelical leaders are lining up behind either $50 universal healthcare abortion Mitt Romney who tried to run to the left of Ted Kennedy on gay rights or late term abortion supporting cross – dresser for gay pride parades Rudy Giuliani. It is also interesting that the frontrunners in both races: Obama, Clinton, Giuliani, Romney, are considered “moderates” whose primary function is to get members of their own globalist coalition to accept as much of the agenda of the (alleged) opposing side as possible.

And that goes back to why Huckabee is so hated. Right now, the dogma on the right is that it is completely unacceptable to oppose corporate America even if they replace as many American workers with foreign workers as they can, even if they adopt domestic partner benefits that the government then copies to write their civil union bills, even if they make tons of money by dealing with governments like Russia, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, China, etc., and even if their CEOs are brazen criminals that loot their companies for billions without any accountability. All Huckabee is doing is stating that, you know, maybe it is kinda sorta OK to oppose how these corporations have betrayed not only your personal financial self – interest but are daily committing acts of high treason against your own nation.

And that is making the GOP leadership apoplectic. MAYBE if evangelicals start resenting corporate America for outsourcing his job to India, relocating his son’s factory to China, and refusing to hire his other son for the construction job that would have paid his way through college or trade school because it can hire an undocumented Guatemalan for 1/3 the price, then they will start resenting corporate America for zealously doing business in these Marxist and Muslim nations that treat Christians so bad. And then MAYBE they will stop associating “Brokeback Mountain” and Madonna with the liberal Hollywood talent and media that produces and publicizes these abominations but the corporations that truthfully owns it all.

If that ever happens, the religious right will start thinking “Why am I so dirty, bruised, smelly, and disease – ridden? Oh, that’s right. I got into bed with the Rockefeller Wall Street Republican Party and then allowed it to do with me whatever it pleased.” And then the whole deal falls apart. Since joining up with the Democrats is not an option, you would see evangelicals leading – or joining – an effort to oppose the very sources that are undermining this nation – and let us face it the evangelical movement with it – that they are currently unwittingly supporting. Do not get me wrong, these people don’t REALLY fear a third political party movement. The multiparty parliamentary systems that Europe, Israel, and pretty much every “democratic” nation on earth have has not inhibited the globalist agenda that I am speaking of; if anything it has made it easier for them. Rather, it appears that what they most fear is a large group of unaffiliated yet active, engaged, and involved people. As a matter of fact, Gary North, a person prominent in the founding of the religious right says in The Silence Of The Fundamentalist Lambs at lewrockwell.com/north/north575.html (please read it even if you disagree with his theological views) asserts that the religious right was founded in large part by the same people who founded the religious left (including the civil rights movement!) precisely to make sure that the then – unaffiliated white evangelical and fundamentalist Christians chose a side. Since these people were successfully manipulated into supporting first Jimmy Carter in 1976 and Ronald Reagan in 1980, it really did not matter which side they chose so long as they picked one.

Now do not get me wrong. Huckabee, who is joined at the hip with the people who represent the worst of false evangelical Christianity (see Ties Between Mike Huckabee And John Hagee Discovered! He Also Has Ties To Kenneth Copeland, Tim LaHaye, And Rick Warren!) is not some contender for righteousness. Quite the contrary, Huckabee supported these people by going as far as to give scholarships to the children of illegal immigrants as a way of inducing their parents to move to Arkansas and work for Tyson Foods. Mike Huckabee also supported the Marxist National Education Association’s war against homeschoolers in Arkansas (see here and here). Now please note that Lew Rockwell is a pro – Ron Paul outfit and I regrettably have had to cease supporting him, so view it in that context, but everything that they say about Mike Huckabee is still nonetheless true. The national homeschool association endorsed Huckabee, but this was their reasoning: “When you understand he’s a Baptist minister, you don’t have to ask what he stands for.” With such logic the anti – Christ would be well – pleased! But it is very possible that the RHETORIC of Mike Huckabee might open some evangelical eyes that the GOP would rather remain wide shut.

Then again, it could be part of the game. After all, illegal immigration fighter Tom Tancredo, after helping scuttle an immigration deal that would have shut down the border over the fantasy that we could actually identify and deport 15 million illegal immigrants or even get most of them to voluntarily repatriate to Mexico, did endorse Mitt Romney yesterday. Calling it amnesty is one thing, calling it logistical reality is another.

Ron Paul Denies That The Bible Calls Homosexuality Sin!

Posted by Job on December 20, 2007

Ron Paul Flops on Question About Homosexuality.

Sorry, but I cannot support the fellow anymore. Hat tip: IndependentConservative, with whom I am very angry with right now for exposing this! :-) Also, if anyone chooses to challenge my negritude for being willing to cease to support Ron Paul over his denying that the Bible calls homosexuality sin and then strongly hinting that even if it did his medical training would nullify it but not over Ron Paul’s history of being connected to racist statements, well go ahead and fire away. I will not debate you.

Should Christians Support Waterboarding?

Posted by Job on December 12, 2007

Doing the usual routine, driving around listening to talk radio, and came across the Bill Bennett radio show. Its name? “Morning in America.” After, of course, the Ronald Reagan campaign slogan. Which was what, 27 years ago? Yet folks are still wrapping themselves around his name and administration to make money and earn a name for themselves, just like pro murder in the womb (and on the streets of New York City) Rudy Giuliani is trying to win the support of social conservatives by reminding everyone that he was the #3 guy in Ed Meese’s Justice Department, a fact that he never mentioned much while he was cross – dressing and attending the gay pride parades, using state money and resources to help him cheat on his wife, shacking up with a homosexual couple, making New York into a sanctuary city for illegal aliens, endorsing Mario Cuomo for governor, appointing Democrats to the judiciary, and brazenly declaring to the New York Conservative Party that he would NEVER back down from his principled support for late term abortions even if it meant costing them his endorsement and the 300,000 votes that came with it in what was expected to be a very close Senate race with Hillary Clinton (the Conservative Party stated that unless he agreed to oppose late term abortions, they would run a third party candidate, something that people like this National Review’s David Frum who claim with a straight face that he will appoint pro – life judges hope that you do not remember). Now please realize that Ronald Reagan was a former actor that signed the nation’s most liberal abortion law as governor, put two pro – abortion judges on the Supreme Court, gave illegal immigrants amnesty and generally refused to enforce the border, and whose wife was a certified witch who contacted astrologers and necromancers. Yet why do social conservatives revere Reagan? Oh, because he called America “the shining city on a hill” or something. Fine, except that it isn’t true. That is, unless you are a Mormon who has various doctrines about the garden of Eden being in Missouri and their Jesus coming back to make New Jerusalem somewhere thereabouts. Incidentally, Frum’s National Review just endorsed Mitt Romney, claiming that his deceiving the liberal voters of Massachusetts into thinking that he supported their socially liberal beliefs is actually A GOOD THING because he lied and flip – flopped for our side!

Yes, and that is precisely the same sort of “ends justifies means” thinking that is used to justify waterboarding to interrogate terrorists. A caller to the Bill Bennett show declared himself to be ex – military and gave the patented arguments in favor of the tactic. It is not physical torture but rather “only” psychological/emotional/mental torture that does no real harm. Sure, so all the people that we have in the psychiatric wards, since there is nothing PHYSICALLY wrong with them they are OK, right? So maybe we should let them all out of their institutions. Where would they stay? Hey, since there is nothing wrong with them, maybe they could go live with that guy! They could, you know, babysit his kids while he and his wife go out shopping. Well you go on and try that Mr. ex – military “psychological torture isn’t torture” fellow, and let me know how it works out for you.

And then he resorts to “the Geneva convention prohibition against torture does not cover terrorists.” That is true. But guess what? The Geneva convention doesn’t protect YOU either. Are you a member of an army of a nation that the United States is at war against that has surrendered or been captured on the field of battle? I am going to go with the mathematical probability here and say that if you are reading this, the answer is no. Then the Geneva convention does not apply to you. But I am a U.S. citizen (or citizen of some other sovereign nation) and are protected by laws that prevent me from being tortured, you might protest. And that would be true. Right up until when the government declares you a terrorist, which they can do to anyone at any time without probable cause and on the basis of “secret evidence” that may or may not exist thanks to the Patriot Act and similar provisions. By the way, please remember that the Clinton administration first proposed a scaled down version of the Patriot Act after the Oklahoma City bombing, and George W. Bush signed a greatly expanded version of it after September 11th. SoldierServant has the details here: The Bush – Clinton Dynasty courtesy of Pastor Chuck Baldwin, one of the few truth – telling preachers on political issues out there.

Consider this. Are you a Christian who believes that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, abortion is murder, homosexuality is a sin, unjust wars and oppressing the poor is wrong, gigantic welfare coercive states are evil, that a nation should have and defend borders, and that you have the right to own a firearm? Well, according to the Patriot Act, you are a terrorist. The groundwork is already being laid. I am no Mike Huckabee fan (quite the contrary, more of a Ron Paul guy for lack of better options),  but check out how Charles Krauthammer and so many other supposed conservatives that are allegedly friends of fundamentalist and evangelical Christians are trashing Huckabee for calling himself – gasp! – “a Christian leader.” And of course, you have tons of folks trashing Jeanne Assam, no doubt angry that the Colorado church shooter Matthew Murray was deprived of his chance to kill even more of us. So, how long will it take before things get to the point where Christians are getting the same treatment in America as they did in China not too long ago? Well, Christians, continue to defend things like waterboarding and you will be one of the people that helps it happen.

As with all else, it all comes back to the Bible. Christians, we are not to compartmentalize our faith. We are not to divide spiritual and secular. Instead, our faith should control every area of our lives and thought process so that we will not be conformed to the world or its ways (Romans 12:2). So, the question “Should a Christian support waterboarding” should be the same answer as “would you want it done to you?” The answer is Matthew 7:12: “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” That is called The Golden Rule, and please read an excellent exposition on it here: http://www.keyway.ca/htm2001/20010313.htm. So many Christians claim to believe in and love the Bible, but so few think that it actually has to be followed! (In fairness, though I am not a supporter of his, let me point out that one of the reasons why the establishment GOP opposes Mike Huckabee is because of his opposition to waterboarding. By the way, Mitt Romney supports torture. Hmmm ….)
