Why Does The Media Focus Only On Harold Camping?

Posted by Job on May 26, 2011

Yes, Harold Camping has been exposed as a false prophet, deceiving many as concerning the timing of the second coming of Jesus Christ. Again. Yes, his deception has caused lots of problems and unnecessary harm, especially for his followers. Again. The question is this: what is the big deal? Why has Camping been the subject of such media attention for months when there are so many pressing stories to cover i.e. wars, famines, diseases, natural disasters, economic failures, political intrigues etc. on a global scale? Clearly the media has an agenda, but what is it?

First off, for the sake of sound doctrine, let it be known that the return of Jesus Christ will not occur until A) the gospel has been taken to all nations and B) a great apostasy, a great falling away from the true faith, occurs. As the great commission is a primary duty of the church, it logical to conclude that the falling away will occur shortly after the great commission is fulfilled, or when the great commission’s fulfillment and with it the time of the Gentiles draws to a close. Anyone who extricates themselves from rapture watching and religious right (or religious left) politics long enough to pay attention to the global missions movements knows that barring a fantastic miracle we are at least 100 years from fulfilling the great commission (the 10/40 window alone is an amazing challenge) and – despite the claims of Camping otherwise – far from there being a great falling away, there are more Christians – or definitely appreciable numbers of Christians in more places – today than at any time in history. So, if we can learn anything from this Camping episode, it is that we should heed the words given by angels and recorded by the physician Luke at the direction of God the Holy Spirit “why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” That was an exhortation to cease waiting for eternity and to get on with the business of living for eternity by loving Jesus Christ and walking in His ways.

With that out of the way, let it further be said that the error of Camping does not undermine the authority of the Bible, Jesus Christ or His church but rather confirms it. How? Because the Bible repeatedly warns against false teachers, including those who would lead people into error concerning His second coming. Jesus Christ said that “false prophets shall deceive many” in Matthew 24:5, and that many will be offended by the true faith in Matthew 24:10. Such false teachings were present even while the New Testament was being written, as the apostle Peter referenced them in 2 Peter 3:4, the apostle John did the same in 1 John 2:18, and the apostle Paul did the same in 2 Thessalonians 2.  Further, Jesus Christ predicted such specifically in Matthew 24:4-5! The New Testament makes it clear that we identify false teachers when they teach things that are in contradiction to the Bible. This truth is what drove William Tyndale to martyrdom, when he stated “I defy the Pope and all his laws. If God spare my life ere many years, I will cause the boy that drives the plow to know more of the scriptures than you!” in response to being told that common people didn’t need to be knowledgeable concerning the Bible’s contents, because it was better to obey the pope than the Bible anyway. So, in rejecting Jesus Christ when He stated that none knows the timing of His return save God the Father (Matthew 24:36), and in rejecting Jesus Christ when He stated that the great commission will be fulfilled before He returns (Matthew 24:14) and in rejecting the Holy Spirit’s inspiration of Paul concerning the falling away first in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, this Camping teaches against things concerning God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, and by his doing so and attracting so many followers he verifies the pages of the New Testament when it said that such a thing would happen. So, Camping did not harm the authenticity or integrity of the Bible by being wrong, but rather verified the Bible’s truth! Instead, Camping’s being RIGHT would have been an occasion to challenge the veracity of the Bible, for were Jesus Christ to return before we reach the many tribes in the 10/40 window or while there are tens of millions of believers risking persecution to worship in Africa and Asia, what would be said of those Bible texts?

So, make no mistake, there is nothing special about Camping. Was not just over ten years ago when there were tons of false prophets claiming based on Bible codes and numerology that Jesus Christ was going to return in 2000? (Never mind that the Bible doesn’t follow our modern calendars, and that Bede almost certainly incorrectly calculated the date of the birth of Jesus Christ that we use for “B.C.” and “A.D.” anyway). Or about 25 years ago Jesus Christ was going to return because it was 40 years after of the establishment of the modern state of Israel? (Never mind that Jesus Christ spoke “this generation” to the Jews of His own time concerning the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D., and if the Bible actually does speak of the restoration of the political nation of Israel, it does not link this event to any timetable concerning Christ’s return.) So why all the fuss and the furor? It has to serve some sort of media agenda.

Consider this: how come when the subject in view is Usama bin Laden or some other Muslim terrorist, the media is quick to say “he isn’t a real Muslim” or “he doesn’t represent mainstream Islam that is practiced by hundreds of millions of peaceful followers”, but the media is quick to depict Camping as being in or near the mainstream of evangelical and fundamental Christians? In truth, as Camping rejects the Holy Trinity, he shouldn’t be classified as Christian at all. Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Muslims and Jews all reject the Holy Trinity, a core foundational doctrine of Christianity that sets it apart from other religions that are either polytheistic or present a false teaching on God’s Unity. But while the media does its best to present Islam and increasingly Mormonism as moderate and mainstream, it uses Camping to create a wild eyed, dangerous fanatical face for Bible-believing Christianity.

Another thing: it isn’t as if Camping is the only false prophet or source of wrong information. Far from it. It is just that when so many others get things wrong and are exposed for their false, anti-Biblical thinking, nothing is ever said about it. Instead, the media, the academy, the elites simply move on. (Or they carry on as if the error was never made.) Consider liberal Christianity, such as the critical “scholars.” Barely a year goes by when an archaeological find of a Biblical site or a scientific breakthrough that confirms Biblical truth or discovery of early manuscripts verifying the existence of historical persons, places and the integrity of Biblical texts that the critical scholars challenged, yet the critical scholars are still accepted as scholars, and their methods – which would never be used in any other field because of their ascientific nature – accepted as reliable.

But that is just the Bible, right? Wrong. Take psychology. The theories of giants in that field like Sigmund Freud and Alfred Kinsey have long been discredited. Yet they are still revered as having made great contributions to science, modern thought and human progress, and furthermore their discredited theories are still being taught as fact in our schools and universities. But psychology, save when it is based on experimentation and observation and does not deal with brain’s biology and chemistry, is a “soft science”, right? Sure, except that the theories in the hard sciences like physics and biology turn up erroneous also. Our schools still teach the long-discredited false leads in evolution theory, i.e. the “evolutionary timeline tree chart” that has long been abandoned as unworkable, and fossils allegedly showing primates evolving into humans that were actually either diseased humans or other animals as fact. You would be surprised to know how many of the things that were taught in science class has been quietly abandoned, how much more needs to be pushed from the classroom, and would be if the media held that community to the same scrutiny that it does evangelical and fundamental Christianity.

But that is just arcane science that has little relevance to our daily lives, so what harm does it do? Fine, except that the realm of false prophets also exists in government and policy. Many fantastic, dire predictions have been made and influenced the direction of governments and leaders to who knows what ends. Example? Global warming. Except that they couldn’t call it “global warming” anymore when many places in the world started experiencing prolonged unseasonably cold weather! So, the cause of the cold weather was attributed to greenhouse gas emissions also and “global warming” became “climate change.” I remember a specific prediction from the global warming prophets that had a lot of people frightened: after Hurricane Katrina and other large, powerful destructive hurricanes in 2005, the global warming community (the “climate change” moniker had not yet been instituted) claimed that the increase in the power and severity of the storms were caused by global warming, and that we could expect worse storms – and more of them – thereafter. They predicted that the hurricane season of 2006 was going to be one of the worst in history! All their models said so! What happened? We haven’t had anything approaching Katrina since.

Another example: peak oil. The experts a few decades back claimed that we had maxed out our oil production, that we had exploited the main reserves, that oil production was heading for an inevitable decline, and that we needed to alter our lifestyles and change our way of life to conserve what oil was left or face a global energy crisis. A few years after those dire predictions, some of the largest oil reserves in history were discovered, as well as technological breakthroughs for accessing oil, and possible new sources of oil, such as from shale and sand. (Do not mistake me for an oil company and fossil fuels advocate, quite the contrary I am fully supportive of alternative energy, and believe that a lot of great technology in that area is not being exploited.) And there was also the “overpopulation crisis.” It was promoted by folks who believed that if the world’s population reached 4 billion, it would become unsustainable, and the result would be mass famines and starvation, diseases, wars and environmental degradation. The only solution was immediate global population control programs! Well, now the world population is 6.75 billion and counting.

There is more. Remember when mad cow disease was going to ravage our food supply? Oprah Winfrey said “I’ll never eat a hamburger again!” (Of course, these folks OPPOSE abstinence from fornication as a defense against sexually transmitted disease as the Bible commands, but constantly promotes abstinence from eating the animals that God gave us dominion over and called lawful to eat.) Remember when bird flu was going to kill thousands, or tens of thousands? What about swine flu? Brought to you by the same false prophets who told you to run out and buy cellophane and masking tape to protect yourself from a nuclear terrorist attack after September 11th.

The prophets told us in the 1980s that AIDS was going to wipe out a significant portion of the U.S. population with little or no regard for lifestyle, and needless to say they were wrong, as AIDS rates only increased among homosexuals, the promiscuous and drug users while declining for everyone else. The lead false prophet was surgeon general C. Everett Koop, who used this false information to promote sex education and condom giveaways in schools starting in 3rd grade. Speaking of sex education, the false prophets told us that it would drastically reduce the venereal disease and teen/out of wedlock pregnancy rates, and it did neither. Instead, both shot through the roof, and further there are now new venereal diseases that even condom manufacturers acknowledge their products are useless against (not that you will ever hear that in any public school sex education program).

But wait, there’s more. The prophets told us that abandoning classical education for new education reforms (often based on Freudian or Marxist theories) would lead to markedly improved results and a transformation of society. They were totally wrong, American academic achievement has fallen off the map, and no one talks about it. The prophets told us that divorce and illegitimacy were GOOD for women, children and even most men, but education, poverty, drug use and incarceration rates say otherwise. The prophets claimed that we could eliminate racism through education. How is that working out? They claimed that we could eliminate poverty through government action, and now not only is poverty still a reality (as Jesus Christ said it would in Mark 14:7, not a favorite text among liberal theologians!) but unprecedented numbers of people in America and worldwide are reliant on government assistance of some kind. The false prophets also claimed that the triumph of Soviet communism was inevitable, and the best course of action was resignation, acceptance and learning from and becoming more like them, only to have the Soviet Union collapse and many remaining Marxist regimes like China and Viet Nam adopt more capitalistic economies. Those who predicted that the war on drugs and the war on terror (especially Afghanistan and Iraq) could be effectively and quickly won? Whatever happened to them?

The sociologists who said that eliminating censorship laws and allowing the free trafficking of pornography would make us more progressive and improve relations between the sexes? They have been nowhere to be found as rapists, child molesters and other sex criminals have proliferated, multiplying like rats. The social theorists who claimed that putting criminals in jail wouldn’t lower crime rates because the root causes were economic? Wrong, and verified when crime rates still remained lower despite two severe recessions and deep cuts in social services. (Well, street crime is lower anyway. White collar crime, the rich in their vain attempt to sate their lust for greed, remains through the roof. But the Bible said that this would happen concerning the wealthy also … see the book of James, which is not a favorite among political conservatives or those who teach the false prosperity gospel.) And another example: remember Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s claim that we had to immediately adopt a stimulus package to keep unemployment from hitting 8%? Unemployment has been at or near 10% for over two years! Anti-Christ? Probably not. False prophet? Definitely.

So, on one hand you have ONE Harold Camping, who again due to his rejection of the Holy Trinity and of many Bible texts (he forbids his followers from fellowshipping in local churches in violation of Hebrews 10:25) should not be considered a Christian is a false prophet. On the other hand, you have MANY worldly prophets who due to their embrace of ungodly, anti-Biblical ideas, doctrines, philosophies and imaginations that exalt themselves against God (2 Corinthians 10:5) that are utterly, totally and completely wrong all the time. Now both groups of false prophets are wrong for the same reason: their rejection of Biblical revelation as true, infallible, inerrant, and the final authority in all matters, and not merely things necessary for salvation. But the media and the elites shine the light on Camping to defame and discredit Christians who actually do adhere to the Bible while doing their best to cover up the fact that they so wrong so often on so many issues to the great harm of so many is appalling. It is hypocrisy at best, and a conspiratorial cover-up at worst. If anything, talking about Camping gives them an excuse to keep from having to address the huge mess that these folks have made of the economies, governments and societies of the world. Further, it allows them to transfer the blame from their failed policies – and the rejection of Jesus Christ and the Bible which reveals Him ideology that motivate them – to Christians, as if Christians are undermining their efforts.

Christians, for instance, are blamed for illegitimacy by opposing sex education. Christians are blamed for AIDS by opposing homosexuality. Christians are blamed for poor educational performance for opposing evolution. Christians are blamed for global warming for opposing climate change legislation. Christians are blamed for the wars and tension in the Middle East for supporting Israel and not a Palestinian state (by the way, I reject Zionism, and “Christian” Zionism is especially repugnant to what the Bible actually says, and John Hagee and not a few other false prophets follow this flawed school of interpretation). Christians are called misogynist for adhering to what the Bible says about the roles concerning men and women in the church, in marriages and homes and in society, and for opposing the murder of abortion. Christians are blamed for “Islamophobia” and “anti-Semitism” and “anti-Mormonism” for refusing to deny that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, and accused of undermining cultures with our missionary work. And the list goes on and on.

And it is only going to increase. As more and more ideas based on a rejection of the Bible and even of general revelation (see Romans 1:18-32) causes still more decline and failure, anger will increase against Christians. As the world continues to reap the fruit of the sin and wickedness that it sows, it will increasingly see Christians as scapegoats. Instead of repenting of their sins and acknowledging those as the true source of the misery and calamity, the blame will be on Christians for failing to get with the program.

This will climax in first sporadic but then general and organized attempts to silence Christians and remove us from their midst, in the hopes of keeping us from hindering their “progress.” This is far-fetched, you say? Not in the least, because it has already happened. An example is not merely the brutal repression and murder of Christians on a massive scale in the Soviet Union, China, Germany, Sudan and other totalitarian (whether Marxist, Muslim or fascist) regimes in the last century, but the experience of the church in the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire’s wealth, power and culture were declining due to the decadence and incompetence of its ruling classes, and from Nero to Decius, they saw Christians as a scapegoat.

The legitimate Christians refused to join in their state religion (an odd mix of paganism and patriotism not dissimilar from what goes on in our country today, including in not a few churches) so the Roman “gods” were angry. The Christians refused to join in their public activities (regrettably this is not a mark of contemporary Christianity!) so they were called “divisive” and were accused of undermining the common culture (in addition to not being patriotic!) that was allegedly needed to have a cohesive, strong empire. And Christians preached and taught against the immorality, wickedness and depravity of the people, the rulers and the times. They preached against the rampant adultery, homosexuality, violence and child molestation. They preached against the wanton excesses of the upper classes (again, not a mark of contemporary evangelical Christianity, unless the upper classes in view are Hollywood, government bureaucrats and other liberal elites). And they preached against paganism, not only by the people but the official state religion (again, the evangelical Christian preacher who even speaks of the freemasonry and occult that was vital to this nation’s founding and has been influential in it ever since is rare).

Then, the persecution began as sporadic and localized, but climaxed in a brutal, sustained attempt to completely rid the Roman Empire of Christianity. And despite the estimated ten million Christians that were killed by the Roman Empire (something that you will never see mentioned in history books or depicted in movies, as they are more wont to depict Christians as murderous crusaders and the like) and the carnage of the past hundred years, that is only a shadow of the real bloodbath to come. You see, unlike Harold Camping, I do not adhere to a rapture belief. Instead, I believe the Bible when it says that when the anti-Christ comes, it will be given to him to make war against the saints, and to overcome them. I believe the Bible when it says that the time of tribulation, of great sorrows, will be of such severity that it will be cut short so that the saints, the elect, will survive it. And I believe that the saints that were mentioned in Revelation and Matthew 24 that will see that horrible time are not Jews, or those converted by Jews during the great tribulation, but Christians.

And that is what it is all about. That is why turning an obscure preacher with questionable doctrine into an international news story lasting several cycles was done. It is why Westboro Baptist Church, a cult that has existed for decades, is only now becoming international news. It is why Terry Jones, an obscure leader of a small congregation, became an international pariah for burning a Koran when not only Muslims but the United States military routinely burns Bibles!

It is why terrorists attacks committed by atheists like Timothy McVeigh and Eric Rudolph are attributed to Christians. It is why violence against abortion clinics and doctors is an issue oft raised against Christians despite the fact that less than 5 such incidents have occurred in over 20 years, and only 1 in the past 10. The Hutaree militia drew headlines and a massive sting operation from the federal government as a Christian terrorism threat to rival that posed by Al Qaeda, and it turned out to be just a bunch of guys spinning yarns over the Internet.  Yet, the Marxist “liberation theology” types, not a few of whom were trained Soviet infiltrators, fanned the flames for any number of bloody murderous third world Marxist coups with their organizing and “preaching”, and the truth about their activities – and the level of support that they received from their ideological and religious fellow travelers in the U.S. – has never been documented by the media, Hollywood or our schools. Neither has the true history of our own “civil rights movement” – how it duped the black church and many well meaning white Americans into supporting Marxist subversive tactics, and how that movement was also organized by and rife with Soviet agents and sympathizers – been told, and nor can you expect them to spill the beans on their own false prophets.

The agitation propaganda against Christians will continue in the future just as it did in the Roman Empire. Christians should be heedful of the times, which means that we must be aware of what is going on, aware of where it is headed, and aware of whose agenda it is serving. That is why Christians should end these “battles” over “being represented in Hollywood” and the “culture wars” and “religious right politics” (and religious left politics) in favor of opening our eyes to the true state of affairs. Instead, we should study our Bibles, study about the early church during its time of persecution before Christianity was co-opted by the Roman Empire so that by learning about the church’s past, we can learn about the future – our future. Of course, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ will win in the end and vindicate and save His church. But make no mistake: just as Jesus Christ suffered Gethsemane and His passion before His resurrection and glorification, the church, being less than its Master Jesus Christ, must also suffer many things. Christians must be prepared so that we might stand during the time to come, and endure to the end. This is a battle that will be won not by guns, money or governments but by faith in the God who is fighting on our side and prevail.

It must be asked: which side are you on? The side of God, or of the wicked? Though Camping was wrong, his error only proved the Bible to be correct. The Bible makes it clear that the wicked perish and that Jesus Christ and those who believe in Him will triumph. If you do not believe in Jesus Christ, make no mistake, you will be counted among the wicked, because no matter how good you perceive yourself to be, before a holy and perfect God you are a sinner. I urge you, repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

Christians Trying To Force Public School Teacher Out Of His Job

Posted by Job on December 28, 2007

Teacher Draws Supporters, Protesters over Anti-Christian Comments

Christians Urged to Rally Behind Student Suing Teacher

I admit that not too long ago this would have been filed in my “Christian persecution in America” category because of the anti – Christian remarks made by the leftist high school history teacher James Corbett. But now, I think that things such as this are nonsense, just typical religious right Republican politics that has nothing to do with advancing the cause of Jesus Christ. Now as Paul demonstrated in Romans, there is nothing wrong with asserting your legal rights when it comes to A) staying alive and B) preserving your ability to preach the gospel. That is not what these people are doing. Instead, they are playing “tit for tat” nonsense games … since Christians – excuse me – people that “have Judeo – Christian values and represent a Judeo – Christian worldview” have been sued and fired for offending the sensibilities of Jews, Muslims, homosexuals, and whoever else Christians now want to get in on the act of using the power of the anti – Christ state to shut people up. What they do not realize is that even if they win, all they are doing is increasing the power of the state to frighten, coerce, intimidate, control, etc. individuals.

All nonsense like this accomplishes is to increase the climate of fear, strife, and division in this country, and to redirect the actions and emotions of Christians away from doing what Jesus Christ actually called us to do and towards nonsense instead. These 200 – 300 people that are assembling for this “prayer vigil” (since when does pressuring the state into firing someone constitute a “prayer vigil”?) should have been out helping the poor, standing up for the oppressed, or preaching the gospel somewhere, especially in some place other than high income suburban Mission Viejo California. These people think that they are so high, mighty, powerful, and intimidating because God is on their side that they can march on a high school knowing full well that the school officials are trying to protect themselves from a public relations fiasco and a civil suit that will cost them their jobs but how many of them do you believe would spend five seconds passing out gospel tracts in some Oakland, Watts, or Compton public housing project? After nightfall? Then we would really see how bold the Holy Spirit has made these people, wouldn’t we?

And if these folks want to influence the government, why not sue or march and hold prayer vigils demanding that the inner city public schools in those areas offer the same AP courses and hire the same qualified teachers as the guy that they are trying to get fired? But no, you won’t see that happening, because a lot of these good Christian folk honestly don’t want their kids to have to compete with the Oakland or south central Los Angeles kids to get into UCLA.

As far as James Corbett, of course the fellow is going to be hostile to Christianity. The fellow is unsaved. How do you expect him to act? And of course the government school system that is part and parcel of this unsaved world is going to be hostile to Christianity and try to influence people against Jesus Christ. Why do we expect any different? Government schools acting in an ungodly manner is not our problem. Our problem is CHRISTIAN schools (and charities and churches) acting ungodly. Personally, I would rather put up with a public school that I know is ungodly and expect to act ungodly than a church or Christian school run by a bunch of liars, backbiters, self – seekers, and hypocrites. What type of church do you suppose these people that are filing a lawsuit trying to get a man fired for the HORRIBLE CRIME of not respecting a religion that he does not believe in (just as these same people do not respect Islam, Hinduism, Mormonism, etc.) attend? Maybe I am guilty of prejudging, but I have my guess.

Christians, instead of trying to force the world to pretend that it loves you using the state or pressure tactics, accept that the world hates Jesus Christ and rejoice in the fact that this very same Jesus Christ has already overcome the world. The root cause of this is that Christians just like this are ignoring that the Bible teaches us to reject the world. They are following a false political ideology that teaches them to love and conform themselves to the world on the grounds that “America is a Christian nation.” They think that they are defending “our Christian culture and heritage” when in fact all they are doing is being just as worldly as that God – hating James Corbett. If they were not being worldly, then why are they trying to make the world accept and respect them? Why are they using worldly institutions and methods to achieve aims that have nothing to do with spreading the gospel and loving their neighbor? Christian leaders shouldn’t be teaching Christians to whine and use the state to fight for them when someone despises and rejects their beliefs. Instead, Christian leaders should teach Christians to turn the other cheek and be good to those that spitefully use and abuse them so that they can win them to Jesus Christ.

If I am James Corbett or even someone who prior to this incident had no strong feelings one way or the other, this spectacle would convince me that Corbett and the other God – haters are exactly right about Christians. And one last thing: the people orchestrating this whole sad episode just happen to be Southern Baptists. Wiley Drake is a former #2 guy in the Southern Baptist Convention. These people sound just like Mike Huckabee’s folks, now don’t they? This is still more proof that following these folks will lead you straight to the lake of fire.

Another Reason Why Christians Should Leave Public Schools

THE LATEST GROUNDS FOR ABANDONING GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS

 http://www.newswithviews.com/Yates/steven31.htm

NewsWithViews.com

Last month California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a legislative package effectively banning the phrases ‘mom and dad’ and ‘husband and wife’ from the state’s government schools as discriminatory against homosexuals. The same measures would allow boys to use girls’ restrooms and vice versa. Critics are charging that this will enable California schools to finish their journey towards becoming full-fledged indoctrination centers for those promoting a homosexual-bisexual-transgender lifestyle.

SB777, a major component of the package Schwarzenegger signed, bans anything that could be interpreted as negative or discriminatory against homosexuality or any other alternative “lifestyle” choices. Another part of this package was AB394, which targets teachers and parents for indoctrination through “anti-harassment” training. There are, of course, no special protections from harassment written into these bills for, e.g., Christian students.

Ripple effects are already being felt. Analysts have noted, for example, that California is the largest market in the country for many textbook publishers. The latter will likely not spend the money it would take to produce separate editions for other states. Thus where California goes, the rest of the nation will be dragged, kicking and screaming if necessary.

This is political correctness running straight off the cliff. In my book Civil Wrongs, published back in 1994, I argued that if political correctness was not stopped, it would very soon embrace homosexuals. This would place it on direct collision course with Christianity not just in academia but in the workplace where it had already gained a solid foothold via radical feminism and the “hostile workplace environment” that grew out of the Clarence Thomas / Anita Hill hearings. Leftist affirmative action provisions for homosexuals were already being introduced in ultraliberal states such as Massachusetts.

More specifically, I argued in Civil Wrongs that leftist affirmative action programs had resulted in reverse discrimination against white men, and that political correctness had become one of the hard left’s most effective counterassaults against legitimate criticism of programs that offered favors to some at the expense of others. It worked through mind control—by enabling opponents of leftist programs to be demonized. I argued that if political correctness was not exposed for what it was and ended, it would embrace more and more groups nationally, including homosexuals, until it became one of the dominant features of this society. Opposition to the political agendas of these groups would be criminalized little by little, in the form of “hate crimes” legislation.

I hate to say it, but you were warned, especially since schools at all levels have been the primary testing grounds for all manner of social experimentation.

There remains, however, a way out, and Christians in particular need to pay attention to it before it is too late. The way out is to abandon government schools. Under present circumstances, thinking Christians are more justified than ever in the belief that government schools have become repositories of indoctrination into evil. They need to remove their children from these schools pronto, and either homeschool them or send them to private Christian schools.

During my Civil Wrongs period I, too, was locked into a box where I believed government schools could be “reformed.” Then I became acquainted with Rev. E. Ray Moore who was just setting up Exodus Mandate, which calls on Christians to leave government schools. Rev. Moore’s book Let My Children Go! Why Parents Must Remove Their Children From Public Schools Now goes further. This meticulously researched book compares the history of public education in America with what the Founding Fathers wrote in this country’s founding documents. Rev. Moore shows there is no evidence that the latter ever intended education to be a government responsibility.

Government schools as such didn’t really begin until the 1840s, when Horace Mann visited Prussia and returned with the “Prussian model.” This model was alien to our founding traditions. According to the latter, following British philosophers such as Locke, children do not belong to the state. Prussia, following German collectivists such as Hegel, reversed this. Mann promoted an Americanized version of the Prussian model. Government schools caught on slowly but eventually became ubiquitous and then mandatory. The word kindergarden is derived from Prussian. It means, roughly, “child garden”—growing children, like vegetables, as in a garden.

Regrettably, in the late 1800s, few sensed danger. Initially, there didn’t seem to be any.

Then, in 1902, John D. Rockefeller created the General Education Board. Its initial publications contained chilling statements like “In our dreams we have limitless resources and the people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The present education conventions fade from their minds, and unhampered by tradition, we work our own good will upon a responsive and rural folk.”

This was a recipe for social control, and when the Rockefeller Foundation began to bankroll John Dewey’s Progressive Education movement a couple of decades later, the use of government schools as laboratories of social engineering proceeded apace—delayed, perhaps, only by the second world war. We can see the results all around us—a significant percentage of public school graduates cannot read or write well enough to fill out a job application. They cannot make change without machines or do simple arithmetic without calculators. They cannot get Thomas Jefferson in the right century much less describe any features of his thought. They cannot walk up to a world map and find, e.g., Iraq (or even the U.S. and find, say, Louisiana).

Is it any wonder foreigners are cleaning our clocks in areas like science and engineering?

One of the key missions of government schools in modern times has been to disrupt the values children inherit from their parents. This has been admitted openly. Benjamin Bloom, a giant among modern education philosophers and inventor of the ‘cognitive’ vs. ‘affective’ domains dichotomy, once said, “a large part of what we call ‘good teaching’ is the teacher’s ability to attain affective objectives [attitudes, values, beliefs] through challenging the students’ fixed beliefs …”

There has been little evidence that the remaining part involves real education in any recognizable form. Here are the exact words of two 1990s School-To-Work educrats, David Hornbeck and Laren Resnick respectively: “[E]ducated employees have higher turnover rates, lower job satisfaction, and poorer promotion records than less educated employees.” “Most employees under this model need not be educated. It is far more important that they be reliable, steady, and willing to follow directions.” With the dominance of this kind of thinking, it is small wonder we have college students who cannot write a coherent paragraph!

With the primary unstated mission of government schools being social engineering—for political correctness and corporate-globalist economics—should we be surprised that homosexuality and other alternative “lifestyles” are now being openly promoted in them, that criticisms are being labeled as “hate speech,” and that commonplace phrases such as “mom and dad” or “husband and wife” are banned by a state legislature in a bill signed by a celebrity governor?

The underlying philosophy of government schools has been hostile right from the start to fundamental American values of limited government and freedom of the individual from dominance by state and corporate interests. This hostility, as we noted, was invisible for a long time. The schools seemed to be doing a good job. Today it is out of the closet. Government schools, absent any instruction in decent values, are now dangerous. They are breeding grounds not just for politically correct indoctrination but for gang activity, drug abuse, and even sexual abuse of children by teachers. WorldNetDaily has a published roster of no less than 114 cases of female teachers who have been either convicted or credibly accused of sexual assaults on students!. This may be just the tip of the iceberg! An Associated Press investigation suggests that there may be more than 2,500 cases of sexual abuse of students by teachers!

There is no evidence these problems can be “fixed” from within by conservative “reforms.” They are now part of the fabric of public education itself. The only solution—especially for Christian parents—is to get their children out.

Rev. Moore, of Exodus Mandate mentioned above, recently told me, “The difference of opinion between those supporting Exodus Mandate and conservative public school reform will soon reach a critical moment. In the past, this has been a debate among friends on how to proceed, but no longer, with the growth of homosexualism in the public schools. The conservative public school reformers and their Christian Right allies who advocate little children being ‘salt and light’ in public schools will deny us a chance for victory by not joining efforts to set up a K-12 Christian or home school system.”

He explained further, “These same conservative reformers have failed to make any gains over the humanist left in the last 30-40 years of public school reform. The conservatives have lost all the major battles and will continue to lose because they follow an unbiblical strategy.” Rev. Moore believes Christians have a biblical mandate to take charge of the education of children, based on passages such as Deuteronomy 6: 1-9, Proverbs 22:6, Psalms 78:5, Ephesians 6:4, Joel 1:2-3, and elsewhere. “The way to victory,” he said, “is now for Christian families and churches to set up a whole new K-12 Christian education system. This will save our Christian children and give other families hope for their children, too. This is the way of revival in our nation.”

He warned, “The rise of homosexualism in the public schools will continue to grow and finally engulf the entire system. It is inevitable now. Applying Romans 1:24, 26, and 28 to the institution of public schools that have officially and legally denied God as Creator and Lawgiver, we can see that God Himself is ‘handing them over’ to moral corruption. To now try to reform such an institution is to fight against God, too! Currently there are over 4,000 GLSEN clubs in public middle and high schools in the U.S. Many are in Bible Belt states. This problem is not just in California but has already reached the Southern states, too.”

Rev. Moore concluded, “We can now safely say that Christian families who leave their children in such morally harmful places are not responsible parents.” Pastors, too, have a moral obligation. “Pastors who fail to warn their flocks and [do not] help set up K-12 Christian education in their churches are not being faithful shepherds.”

His is a harsh-sounding verdict, but it may be the most defensible one. Nor is he alone. Randy Thomasson, of Campaign for Children and Families, told WorldNetDaily, “We’re calling upon every California parent to pull their child out of California’s public school system.” He added, “The so-called ‘public schools’ are no longer a safe emotional environment for children. Under the new law, schoolchildren as young as kindergarten will be sexually indoctrinated and introduced to homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality, over the protests of parents, teachers and even school districts.”

“There will be no exemptions to this indoctrination,” he also observed. “Private schools and homeschool will be the only sanctuary left for parents in California who love their children and want to protect their sexual innocence.”

Where California goes, the rest of the nation shall eventually follow.

The time has come to abandon government schools while doing so is still legal. There are organizations in every state devoted to providing information, curricula, etc., for home schooling parents. If evangelical Christians in America were to abandon government schools, removing their children not by the thousands but by the tens and then hundreds of thousands, state-sponsored education would implode, along with its political agendas. New forms of education would already have appeared. They would answer to We The People, not they the social engineers. Children could learn the history of the rise of Christian and Constitutionally-grounded freedoms in the English-speaking world, as well as how to use the latest technology.

This kind of solution should not be thought of as limited to evangelical Christians. Presumably there are people who cannot accept Christianity but still want their children to be able to understand something of this country’s founding principles. Presumably even an atheist wants his children to be literate, able to do simple arithmetic, think as individuals instead of as group members, and perhaps question those with money and power. I doubt that the globalist corporate-governmental elites really care two iotas about homosexuality. As with abortion, they see it as a means to an end: global population control.

Do parents, Christian or not, want their children to be more than cogwheels in the brave new world of a homosexual-friendly global corporatocracy? Do we, perchance, not want a homosexual-friendly global corporatocracy in our future? What must we do to avoid one? Removing our children from social engineering indoctrination centers might be one very good place to start.

Did God Tell George Bush To Invade Iraq?

Posted by Job on July 23, 2007

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/19/AR2007071901957.html?hpid=opinionsbox1 reminds me of http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/13/AR2005101301688.html. This is one of the SHOCKINGLY FEW mainstream media stories about this, though I would hazard a guess that pretty much everyone has heard about it. Now the fact that no real sport has been made of this in the media shows which side the media is on. Were they to deal with it in any serious way, it would provoke a real theological debate, and that would have forced the leaders of the religious right to take a stand on whether Bush ever received a direct revelation from God on Iraq or any other issue. The result of such a debate would have been the obvious: there is NO WAY that Bush EVER received such a revelation from God (more on that later). But by placing it out there in a manner where everyone would find out about it but so serious examination of it would take place serves the purpose of the anti – Christ media: to make Bible – believing Christians look like fools, fascists, or some combination thereof. And it has worked, see this link: Because Of George Bush, The World Regards Christianity As Evil!

And this better than anything else exposes the utter corruption of the Christian leaders in America, especially those on the religious right. If they were on the Lord’s side, out of a desire not so much to defend the reputation of the church on earth but THE NAME OF OUR GOD IN HEAVEN, they should have openly challenged Bush on this blasphemy. But since no righteous man or woman of God performed the role of a prophet, it shows the apostasy of our churches just as does this article: Do You Go To Church? If So, Why?! (Pay special attention to the fact that only 3% of Christians truly care whether their kids go to heaven or hell according to this survey as compared to 39% wanting their kids to get into a good college.) What demonstrates the apostasy even more so is that the MEMBERS of their churches did not DEMAND that their pastors oppose Bush’s speaking against our Lord.

How can I be so sure that God did not tell Bush to invade Iraq and Afghanistan? It is a simple Bible test, really. (Test Your Bible Knowledge With The Prophecy Quiz! and
The Requirements For The Office Of A Prophet are the types of things that would point you in the right direction.) Some simple ones: prophecy only goes to Israelites (meaning people that are saved). Bush = member of Skulls and Crossbones, pro – abortion and pro – homosexual: see Why Christians Should Not Support George W. Bush, and believes that Muslims worship the same God as Christians do (which is, er, quite a surprise to the Muslims). Add to that Why President George W. Bush Honestly is Not a Christian and it is pretty clear. Incidentally, none of the things in any of those links are secret. They were known to our clergy before he was elected to office, and by the time this “revelation” allegedly came to him, it was obvious that he had not changed! So strike one.

Strike two: things of this nature are only true if established in the mouth of two or more witnesses. Well, was there any evidence of any other Christian hearing a word from the Lord that we should strike Iraq and Afghanistan? If there were, I didn’t hear of it!

And strike three: all revelation must be consistent with prior revelation. For Christians, our completed, inspired, inerrant, literally true, and final authority in all matters – including revelation – is the Bible. It is what by which we can try all spirits by the Holy Spirit, and call anything and everything that does not measure up to be accursed. Now I am not one of those who believes that the Righteous One who shall one day return to make war and overcome the armies of Gog and Magog and those who follow Him are called to be pacifists: see CHRISTIANS ARE NOT TO BE PACIFISTS!!! please. But just show me one place in the Bible where God told Christians to start wars of aggression against a nation that did not attack us and was not imminently planning on attacking us (and had no real capability of executing any plan that they did have) but JUST HAPPENED to be MIGHTY CONVENIENT to various domestic and international economic and political aims of his. (Puppet regime? Check. Oil companies? Check. Halliburton? Check. Defense contractors? Check. Re – election? Check. Increased Christian persecution in Iraq and across the Middle East? Check. (And check here too.) Increasing the amount of carnage, disorder, racial and religious tension, fear, and economic/political instability in the world, which in turn makes us more likely to submit to international leadership for “solutions”? Check. Giving illegal immigrants an easy path to citizenship by allowing them to fill Army quotas? Check. Increasing our national debt to China and similar? Check. Sending so many of our best and brightest workers overseas through the “backdoor draft” so we can claim a “labor shortage” that we need to replace with immigrant workers? Check. And boy, those National Guardsmen and equipment sure would have come in handy after Hurricane Katrina, and to fight all of these wildfires, but oh well … check.) I have not seen it in the Bible. Nor have I seen anything in the Bible where Christians have this manifest destiny to go about imposing Christianity, “democracy”, or anything else on a sovereign nation. Have you?

Did God command His people to fight wars in the Bible? Sure. In the OLD TESTAMENT to ISRAEL. But that was in the interests of creating a nation out of Abraham – and defending said nation – that God would use to bring Jesus Christ into the world. After that was done, there was no need to go about putting men, women, and children to death with the sword (or with carpet – bombing campaigns). Of course, a nation has a right to defend itself, and the case can be made that we have an obligation to rise up and stop grotesque human rights abuses (although our next detachment of troops to Sudan to stop the genocide against Christians there will be the first). But it is safe to say that the large scale (or small scale) slaughter of innocents so that occult groups like the Skulls and Bones can exert its political and corporate dominance over the globe is fundamentally incompatible with Biblical revelation, correct?

Now say George Bush had sold all that he had and given it to the poor as Jesus Christ told the wealthy young ruler. Or had he used these “Radio Free Wherever” government radio propaganda broadcasts to pump Christian evangelistic messages across the globe fulfill the Christian mandate to take the gospel to every nation. Or had he proposed a massive wealth transfer program to the poor, or to imposed strict environmental regulations on big business based on Bible verses and doctrines. Now I would not necessarily advocate Bush going and doing those things because they may be taking Bible doctrines out of their appropriate contexts. But in those instances had Bush said that God told him to do these things, we would at least have to consider the POSSIBILITY that God MAY have told him to do so because the claimed revelation would have at least some scriptural basis. But a revelation that IS OBVIOUSLY COMPLETELY OPPOSITE TO EVERYTHING THAT THE BIBLE SAYS AND STANDS FOR? That should have made at least SOME CHRISTIANS suspicious.

Well, either we Christians bought into the obvious lie, or we knew it was a lie and failed to speak up and demand that others do the same. Which is it? Either way, it is enough to make you wonder if God is going to hold us to account for our silence on Judgment Day, right alongside those who support or refuse to appose abortion. If you do not feel that such is the case, or if you disagree with anything else that I have proposed, now is the time to make your dissent known and tell me where I am wrong!

Three Evolution Facts That Are ILLEGAL To Teach In Public Schools

Posted by Job on June 25, 2007

1. Evolution contradicts the second law of thermodynamics, the law of entropy increase.

2. Genetic mutation, the very engine of modern neo-Darwinism, is almost always catastrophically destructive to an organism, which severely challenges the notion that mutation with natural selection ultimately leads to higher complexity.

3a. After 140 years of digging up the earth, there still remain enormous holes in the fossil record, the missing links that account for tens of millions of years of evolution, which is why many leading paleontologists, most notably the late Stephen Jay Gould of Harvard, argued for punctuated equilibrium – giant leaps – in evolutionary development, rather than the slow and gradual ascent argued for by scientists like Dawkins.

3b. Darwin makes it clear in The Origin of Species that evolution was not developed as a theory to explain the origin of life but as a theory to explain the fossil record. Thus, the theory had to accord with existing fossil finds.

Again, this is why they are trying to keep us out of college so we will be able to talk about things like this: see THE NEW YORK TIMES FAVORS BANNING CHRISTIANS FROM COLLEGE! Now of course, I am aware that there are plenty of scientific theories that will never be proven but are still accepted as valid. I am also aware that evolution gets attacked while those theories do not because the other theories do not directly contradict a fundamentalist Christian worldview as evolution does, and therefore that is the only one that fundamentalist Christians are motivated to attack. But the fact remains: if you are able to locate an inconsistency in relativity or quantum mechanics, you are able to legally discuss it with your high school physics class. With evolution, you are not. And the reason for that is precisely BECAUSE evolution opposes fundamentalist Christianity: evolution is absolutely necessary for people who hate the Bible and want to create a social, legal, political, economic, etc. framework based on rejecting it.

Is This The Way To Combat Lasciviousness And Violence In Children? I Say No

Posted by Job on June 19, 2007

So, it has come to this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/17/AR2007061701179.html Instead of having a no – touching policy in our schools because the students cannot control themselves, parents need to give their children the hope of the gospel so the students will control themselves. And no, I did not say the schools should do it; this is not another “we need prayer back in school” religious right diversion. If you want to let all those Muslims, Mormons, Wiccans, Hindus, pagans, New Agers, unitarians, etc. pray in schools, that is fine with me. But it will not put the gospel in your child, and it will not make your child a witness to the other children at school who need the gospel. Parents should stop trying to pass the responsibility for their children onto schools, churches, etc.; “society” and fulfill the role that God intended for them when He elected through His Sovereign Will to grant them charge and responsibility over children. Doing anything less is rebelling against God and resisting and grieving the Holy Spirit. Wondering why you have no peace in your life? Maybe the abrogration of your God – given parental responsibilities is why. Then again, since studies show that only 3% of Christian parents love their children in this “Christian nation” (see Do You Go To Church? If So, Why? on SoldierServant.wordpress.com to see what I am talking about), maybe “no touching policies” is a good idea. Well, the 3% of you Christians that actually love and care about your kids, now you are seeing the fruits manifested by the 97% who do not.

What The Bible Says About Government And Leaders

Posted by Job on June 19, 2007

from Dr. Tom Snyder of Movieguide.com. Original article here at Answers In Action.

What does the Bible, the fully inspired and inerrant Word of God, say about government and politics, including the modern social welfare state, public education, ownership of private property, and helping the needy?

Proverbs 8:15, 16 of the Bible, the inspired Word of God, says that governments should use wisdom to rule and to make laws that are just. Proverbs 17:7 says rulers also should not lie. Proverbs 20:26 says wise rulers always try to punish the wicked. Proverbs 28:2-4 and 29:4 urges rulers to maintain order justly, to follow God’s moral code and to avoid oppressing the poor.

Furthermore, both Romans 13:3-6 and 1 Peter 2:13-15 say that government officials, whether elected or not, are ministers and servants of God who punish and restrain wrongdoers and who commend or praise those who do good works according to God’s transcendent moral code revealed in the Holy Scriptures, the Bible. Government officials must do these things whether or not the people believe in God or the Bible.

The Tenth Commandment in Exodus 20:17 protects private property by commanding people not to covet their neighbor’s house or belongings. Exodus 23:3 says, “Do not show favoritism to a poor man in his lawsuit.” Exodus 23:6 says, “Do not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.” Leviticus 19:15 says, “Do not pervert justice; do not show favoritism to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.” Also, Exodus 22:21 orders believers not to mistreat or oppress aliens living among them, but Lev. 18:26 also says the aliens living among us, including immigrants, must obey God’s laws, including God’s Justice. Finally, in Deuteronomy 16:18-20, Moses tells all the people of the Nation of Israel, “Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the Lord your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the Lord your God is giving you.”

In other words, private property must be respected and forms of socialism, fascism, Communism, or Marxism that do not respect private property are evil or immoral. Also, the people should elect local government leaders, but those leaders must obey the moral laws of God, including God’s principle of equal justice under the law. Under such divine justice and morality, leaders who deny equal justice to the rich or the poor, and leaders who steal or who take bribes, are condemned. Thus, leaders must not oppress the poor, the rich, or the middle class, but neither should anyone get any special favors, including aliens or immigrants!

In Numbers 35:31, God says those who are guilty of committing first degree murder cannot buy themselves out of the death penalty by paying a ransom or a fee. If found guilty if first degree murder, they must be put to death by the government, no ifs, ands, or buts!

The Hebrew Scriptures condemn adultery, homosexual behavior, premarital sex, and incest. In Mark 7:20-23, Jesus calls all sex outside of marriage (also known as unlawful sex) evil, and compares such evil to murder, theft, deceit, slander, arrogance, envy, and greed, which are also evil. Thus, premarital sex, adultery, homosexuality, incest, and bestiality are all evil, and all people, including all government leaders, should not promote such evil.

Regarding government, Proverbs 16:10 also says, “The lips of a king speak as an oracle, and his mouth should not betray justice.” Proverbs 16:12 says, “Kings detest wrongdoing, for a throne is established through righteousness.” Proverbs 17:7 says, “Arrogant lips are unsuited to a fool — how much worse lying lips to a ruler!” Proverbs 20:18 says, “Make plans by seeking advice, if you wage war, obtain guidance.” Proverbs 20:26 says, “A wise king winnows out the wicked; he drives the threshing wheel over them.” Proverbs 20:28 says, “Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love his throne is made secure.” Proverbs 28:3 says, “A ruler who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no crops.” Proverbs 28:16 says, “A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment, but he who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long life.” Proverbs 29:4 says, “By justice a king gives a country stability, but one who is greedy for bribes tears it down.” Proverbs 29:12 says, “If a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked.” Proverbs 29:14 says, “If a king judges the poor with fairness, his throne will always be secure.”

Furthermore, in 1 Samuel 8:7-18, God directly tells the people of Israel that taxes of 10 percent or more are A SIGN OF TYRANNY (see Gary DeMar’s Ruler of the Nations: Biblical Blueprints for Government, Ft. Worth, Texas: Dominion Press, 1987)! God strongly indicates in that passage that the people of God should oppose such high amounts of taxation. That passage also frowns on big government of any kind, including large standing armies.

In Deuteronomy 6:4-9, God gives jurisdiction of a child’s education to his parents, not to the local church and especially not to government.

The Bible also says, in Deuteronomy 14:28, 29, Numbers 18:24, Matthew 6:1-4, and 1 Timothy 5:3-16, that help for the poor should come first from their own families and only then from individuals, churches, and private charities. Also, Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12 and 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15, that people should work for their own living and not be dependent on others. Thus, nowhere in the Bible does God obligate the government to take care of the poor and needy by using the taxes that it forcibly collects!

Finally, the Bible also has some things to say about self-government. For example, it condemns laziness and praises hard work and kindness, especially kindness to the needy. Proverbs 10:4 says, “Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.” Proverbs 14:23 says, “All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” Proverbs 14:21 says, “He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.” The basic principle for such charitable giving is established in Deut. 14:28,29, where God commands His people to give one third of all their tithes to charity to needy widows, orphans and poor people. Even then, the money was not given just to anyone who showed up to get it. Those who are able to work but don’t work, do not qualify for such help. Also, those who have families to take care of them don’t qualify, nor do widows under age 60 qualify, according to 1 Timothy 5:3-16. Furthermore, Jesus Christ says in Matthew 6 that when believers give individual charity, they should give such charity secretly: “Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.”

Jesus Christ To The Religious Left: Why Do You Call Me Lord Lord And Do Not Do What I Say? Luke 6:46

Posted by Job on June 15, 2007

Please click www.liveprayer.com/signup.htm to sign up to receive this devotional in your email. *Personal note: This is one of the times when Pastor Keller’s views do not line up with my own, but Keller is still a Bible – based preacher so there is nothing wrong with providing this devotional.

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”  Luke 6:46

The “religious left.”  In case you have been sleeping, there is a new group
of people in our nation who call themselves the “religious left.” This is a relatively new term so you may not be familiar with it.  That is why I felt it was so critical to take the time today to insure you not only understood what it means, but who actually makes up this new group of people. Forty years ago, this group didn’t even exist. They have actually evolved and
grown tremendously over the past decade.

The “religious left” is made up of people who identify themselves as
Christians and hold strong religious beliefs as well as sharing left-wing
ideals.  Obviously, this group has risen up in opposition to those who have
been tagged the “religious right” or the “Christian right.”  The “Christian
right” is that group of Bible-believing Christians who are politically
active and seek to elect to office those candidates who hold to Biblical
values on the key spiritual issues of our day that are also political
issues.

These would be issues like abortion and life related matters, gay marriage,
family issues, the proliferation of the pornography industry, and the drive
to remove God from the public square.  Those in the “religious left”
actually take an anti-Biblical position on these issues and are also heavily
involved in the ecumenical movement, environmental issues, opposing war for
any reason, world hunger, and social issues like healthcare, welfare, and
education.

There is nothing wrong with pursing these noble social issues, Believers
should be more involved on those fronts.  The problem with this group is
their anti-Biblical position on the key spiritual issues of our day and
their involvement in these ecumenical movements that require you to set
aside the Absolute Truths of the Bible.

I watched with interest a last week as CNN carried a special program about
faith with the leading Democratic Candidates who are vying for their parties
nomination in the 2008 Presidential election.  Each one dealt with various
faith-related issues in the context of their own personal faith.  I watched
in amazement as each one talked about how important their faith was to them,
how it guided them, how it gave them strength, and went out of their way to
position themselves as people of great faith.

Like my dear mother used to tell me, talk is cheap.  I refuse to try and
judge their heart, that is something only God can and will do.  However, I
have every right to judge them on their actions in accordance with God’s
Word.  How can you say you are a person of faith, yet vote to support the
legalized slaughter of over 4,000 innocent babies every day?  How can you
say you are a person of faith, yet vote to redefine God’s Holy Institution
of Marriage?  How can you say you are a person of faith, yet support special
rights for people who have chosen to engage in perverted sex acts God calls
an abomination, including their ability to adopt children into their deviant
lifestyle?

I guess the real question becomes, what is their faith really in?  It is
inconsistent to say you are person of faith yet continually take a stand in
complete opposition to God’s Word.  Jesus said that if you love Me, you will
obey Me.  That means His Word.  Of course, those in the “religious left” has
been born out of the liberal “churches” of our day who make a mockery of
Christ as they operate in open rebellion to the Truth of the Bible while
claiming to be followers of Christ.

They support the legalized slaughter of babies, redefining marriage to
include men with men and women with women, perverting the family by brining
children into homes with homosexual parents, and embrace ecumenical
fellowships with all of the cults and false religions of the world.  They
deny the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible, have rejected God’s Word
for the Absolute Truth it represents, and have bought into the lie of the
world that there are “many roads that lead to God.”  These are the people
who make up the “religious left!”

I love you and care about you so much.  It is beyond me how a person can
consider themselves a Christian, which means they are a follower of Christ
and automatically a follower of His Word, yet take a public position in
complete opposition to that Word.  You better wake up, since this is the
largest growing segment of Christendom, this apostate group who calls
themselves Christians but go to churches who operate in complete  rebellion
to Christ and the Bible

This is the group that is Biblically illiterate since they don’t even
believe the Bible to be true.  These are the people who see nothing wrong
with electing a member of a satanic cult to the White House because they
think a Mormon is a Christian.  They are the politically correct crowd who
has bought the lie a woman has the right to kill her baby.  They are the
group who lambastes those who speak out against the sin of homosexuality,
calling them names like “intolerant” and “hateful.”

The “religious left” is a group who will wield incredible political
influence in the upcoming 2008 election.  They are mostly made up of people
who call themselves Christians, but support the things Christ and the Bible
condemn.  Pray for these people since you can’t call yourself a follower of
Christ, yet stand on the opposite side of Christ on so many issues.  Truth
is not what we want it to be, it is what God says it is.  We don’t have the
luxury of giving our heart and life to Christ and then live any way we want.
A true follower of Christ is a follower of His Word.  Jesus said, “Why do
you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
