What Does The Bible Say About Racism? Try Galatians 3:28!

Posted by Job on March 28, 2008

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you
are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28

Genesis 1:26,27, Deuteronomy 10:17, Acts 10:34, Romans 2:11, Galatians
3:28

What does God say about racism? Like in all matters of life, when we need
the Truth, the real answers, we have to go to our final authority in all
matters, the Bible. One of the greatest weapons of satan is division. The
enemy has figured out every way imaginable to divide men. Since virtually
the beginning of the human experience, man has fallen into satan’s trap of
division based on the color of a person’s skin or their ethnic origin.
While racism has always been an issue in this country, the fact is it is an
issue in every country. This divisive mindset is not unique to the United
States. Sadly, in some form it is practiced everywhere on the planet.

Since the racially incendiary remarks by B. Hussein Obama’s pastor of 20
years, Dr. Jeremiah Wright, became such a big part of the Presidential
campaign a few weeks ago, it has sparked a national dialogue on race. A few
weeks ago Senator Obama gave a speech on race that was lauded by many.
Those who made such a big deal over his speech were most likely swayed by
the fact he was dealing so openly with a taboo subject few will talk about.
However, his speech was hollow, self serving, and nothing more than a
political move to do damage control because of his close association with
Dr. Wright.

B. Hussein Obama’s race speech did NOTHING to help people or this nation
deal with this scourge, since the victory over racism isn’t going to come
from the flowery words of a politician whose only motive and goal is to get
elected President. No my friend, if people and this nation are going to
truly get victory over racism, it has got to come from an understanding of
what God says about this issue and by people who are willing to follow what
God says in the Bible.

If Senator Obama had intended to really take a leadership role on the race
issue, educate the nation and provide real answers for how to get victory
over this inhumane way people treat others who are different than they are,
then he would have told people what God says about racism. God says MUCH
about this issue, but Senator Obama didn’t find it worth including even one
verse of Scripture.

*THIS IS WHY I TELL YOU SO OFTEN THAT IT WILL NOT BE A POLITICIAN, BUT A MAN GOD HAS CALLED TO LEAD PEOPLE IN THE WAYS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS!!!

The fact is, there is only one race, the human race! People may have white
skin, black skin, brown skin, yellow skin, red skin, or any other color
skin, they may have different ethnic backgrounds, but they are all part of
the same race, the human race! The Bible says that ALL MEN are created in
the image of God. God created all men equal. I tell you frequently that
satan is the great perverter. It is satan, not God, who seeks to divide men
by their skin color, ethnicity, financial means, and any other way you can
dream up to divide people. God created men equal to live in harmony with
one another. It is satan who introduced division into the human experience.

In God’s plan of redemption, there is no division. John 3:16 says that God
so loved the world, ALL men. It says that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES. That is a
universal call to ALL MEN regardless the color of their skin or where they
live. In 1 John 2:2, it talks about how Jesus laid down his life for
EVERYONE. Everyone means ALL MEN, the entire human race. This satanically
inspired way we have of dividing ourselves through racism, prejudice, and
discrimination all make a mockery of what Christ did on the cross. He
faithfully and obediently went to that cross to die for the sins of ALL
MANKIND.

That is why all of the black pastors I know repudiate the false black
liberation theology Dr. Jeremiah Wright has been teaching for over 3
decades. Wright is actually a student of James Cone who made this perverse
theology popular in the 60s that teaches the Bible is the basis for blacks
to be liberated from social, political, economic, and religious bondage. B.
Hussein Obama is a liar when he states he never heard the types of comments
made by Dr. Wright the media has been playing, since that is the
foundational teaching of the black liberation theology Wright has been
preaching in Chicago for over 30 years.

The fact is the Bible DOES teach liberation theology, LIBERATION FROM SIN!!!
It was not written to people with dark skin, but to all people regardless of
their skin color. We are all part of the human race, which means we are all
born with the sin of Adam, we all sin during our life, and that is why Jesus
went to the cross. He gave His very life on that cross as the payment for
the sins of all mankind, that through faith in Him men might be find freedom
from their sins. There is nothing in the Bible to support this false black
liberation theology Dr. Wright preaches, since the liberation theology of
the Bible is about the freedom from sin for ALL MEN!

You also have the Biblical example of Jesus during His earthly ministry.
Again, racism is not a new phenomena to the United States in our brief 232
year history. Forms of racism have been part of the human expedience since
the very beginning. Jesus commanded us in John 13:34 to love each other as
He loves us. He used people of other ethnic backgrounds often in His
parables. One of the most powerful is the story of the Good Samaritan. If
you remember, the Jewish religious leaders passed by the man who had been
robbed and beaten and laying on the side of the road, leaving him to die.
It was the Samaritan, the non-Jew, who honored God by stopping and
ministering to the needs of the injured man. Don’t forget, it was Jesus who
told his followers to make disciples of EVERY NATION, reaffirming the value
of all men.

I love you and care about you so much. If B. Hussein Obama had wanted to
give a real speech on racism to move hearts and lead people in this issue,
THIS is the message he should have delivered. It would have been a message
from God’s Word that laid the Biblical foundation all men are created equal
and those who seek to divide men by the color of their skin are not of God,
but of satan! It would not have been the self serving, politically crafted
words to try and help him weasel out of his 20 year association with a
pastor and church that preaches and teaches division based on the color of a
person’s skin. Dividing men by skin color, ethnicity, are the works of the
devil.

Those who truly seek to serve and follow the Lord are not looking to divide
men but unite them. A true follower of Christ understands that God created
all men equal, that we are all part of the human race. Racism, prejudice,
and discrimination are NOT of God, since we are hurting someone God created
and loves and Jesus died for! Sadly, 11 am on Sunday morning is the most
segregated hour of the week in this nation. That is truly a shame since the
one sanctuary from racism should be the church. Yet sadly, most churches
don’t lead the culture, they allow the culture to lead them. So rather than
modeling what God says about this issue, in far too many churches, they
perpetuate this ungodly attitude men have for other men who look different
than them.

They better wake up since when we die, and stand at the gates of Heaven,
there won’t be a line for whites, or a line for blacks, or a line for
Asians, or a line for Hispanics, or a line for those from the Middle East,
just like there won’t be a line for Catholics, or Baptists, or Methodists,
or Pentecostals. No my friend, when you take your last breath there will
only be two lines. One for those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ
and one for those who have rejected Christ. The Bible proclaims those who
reject Christ will be cast into the flames of hell for all eternity, and
those who know Jesus will be welcomed into their eternal home with God their
Creator in Heaven. At that moment, Galatians 3:38 will be realized, “There
is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all
one in Christ Jesus!”

On Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s Apostate Pastor Jeremiah Wright

Posted by Job on March 17, 2008

*By Pastor Bill Keller of Live Prayer. By the way, it was Keller that tipped me off to the fact that Oprah Winfrey had been a member of this “church” months ago, although the Los Angeles Times now claims that she stopped going. Interesting that people are just now coming around to this “story” AFTER Barack HUSSEIN Obama has all but wrapped up the Democratic nomination, as I dealt with this over a year ago: Lots Of Good Stuff On Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s September 11th – Justifying Church. Ah well. As Howard University graduate Jeremiah Wright is a liberation theology preacher, please read my entry The True Liberation Theology. As far as those of you that wish to claim that I have political motives for posting this devotional or attacking Barack HUSSEIN Obama in general, allow me to say that I personally see no substantive difference between Obama, Clinton, or McCain, and my position is that a Christian should not vote for any of them. I ran across the other day where Martin Luther stated that it was better to be governed by a wise Turk (Muslim) than a foolish Christian. That seems to fit the writings of Paul in Romans 13, especially when you consider the context: Rome was hardly a Christian or godly empire in any sense, yet Paul wrote to submit to proper authorities because all authority comes from God. But Obama, Clinton, and McCain do not meet the standards of “wise Turk” (or wise anything for that matter, let alone decent, moral, honest, truthful, etc.) in my humble estimation. Maybe the Constitution or Libertarian. I cannot consider the Green Party nominee Ralph Nader for regrettably he is pro – abortion.
(Acts 17:26,27, Rom. 10:11-13)
What kind of pastor condones the sin of homosexuality, killing babies, and preaches a gospel of racial division? The pastor for 20 years and spiritual mentor of Democratic Presidential candidate B. Hussein Obama! I found it amusing the past few days that all of the news media is focusing on the racially divisive and anti-American rhetoric of Dr. Jeremiah Wright, who for over 3 decades was the Senior Pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois. For those who have been reading the Daily Devotional and/or watching the Liveprayer television program, I have told you about Dr. Wright for many years now, since he pastors the church Oprah called home and Senator Obama has been part of for the past 2 decades.Dr. Wright not only married Senator Obama and his wife and christened their 2 children, but he has also been the spiritual mentor to the Senator and helped shape his theological beliefs. He has been prominent in the news the past few days because the public has been horrified after being exposed to his racist and anti-American views that he has espoused for over 30 years in his church.

In trying to do damage control Friday, Senator Obama ended any affiliation Dr. Wright had with his Presidential campaign and the Senator went on numerous news programs stating that he was not aware Dr. Wright held these views. B. Hussein Obama is a liar!

As many of you know, I started my ministry in the city of Chicago in 1992.
Two of the members of my Board of Directors who have been with me since day one, are both black pastors of churches on the south side of Chicago. I
have had the joy and privilege to preach in several dozen black churches in
the Chicagoland area in the early days of my ministry. Anyone who has had
ANY dealing with the churches in Chicago know who Dr. Jeremiah Wright is and that he preaches a gospel of black separatism with anti-American views.

In theological circles it is known as “black liberation theology,” a perverse theology originally taught by James Cone that seeks to contribute to the liberation of black people from the perceived racism in the country and in Christianity.

Please hear me very clear. Black liberation theology is a perverse view of the Scriptures and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a radical view held by a very small minority of black pastors. This is NOT representative of the black church or the overwhelming majority of black pastors who preach and teach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ without looking at it through the lens of color. Every black pastor I know condemns Dr. Wright and this perverse racist theology.

Sadly, to the non-churched masses and to white Americans who have little or no exposure to the black church, seeing and hearing Dr. Wright’s radical views of the world and the Scriptures, will cause them to assume this is the position held by all black churches. (My note: some black people in their zeal to defend Obama are stating precisely that.) Again, Dr. Wright is in a very small minority of pastors who hold to these perverted views and this is NOT representative of the black church or Christians who happen to be black.

Having said that, let me reiterate that B. Hussein Obama is a liar when he says he was not aware of these beliefs held by his pastor. That is impossible since everyone in Chicago knows about Dr. Wright and his radical and racially divisive theology. His teachings attracted many young, upwardly mobile, successful blacks who agree with his views on race and social issues. They joined his church not only for the spiritual experience,
but for the networking opportunities it provided. (My note: sadly, making them no different from most Christians regardless of race or theology.)

It was the perfect church home for Senator Obama, who had no Christian background or Biblical upbringing, and was a rising star in the Daley political machine in Chicago, It was the perfect church home and message for Senator Obama who was dealing with the social and economic challenges of blacks on the south side of Chicago early in his political career.

The United Church of Christ is a predominantly white and very liberal denomination that supports and condones sins like homosexuality and women killing their babies.
Like many liberal denominations, it focuses on the
“social gospel,” dealing with the economically poor rather than the spiritually poor. (My note: although the Bible tells us to deal with the economically poor as well, it is both not either or, do not turn aside from God’s commandments to the right or to the left!) These types of churches focus on the financially down and out and needy, using the parts of the Bible that speak to helping those who are less fortunate, while brushing over the passages that speak to living a life holy and acceptable to God in accordance with His Word. This is where Senator Obama comes up with the laughable notion that the Sermon on the Mount teaches homosexuality is an acceptable choice as he recently stated in the news. In his bid for the White House, B. Hussein Obama has received great support from those in the gay and lesbian community since he will champion their desire to make gay marriage legal in all 50 states and to break down all barriers to gay adoption, as well as other issues favorable to giving those who choose to commit the sin of homosexuality special rights.Senator Obama also supports the legalizes slaughter of babies. He has been 100% consistent in his political career both in the Illinois Senate and the United States Senate, to support the legalized practice of infanticide. I wonder how he can go home at night, look at his two precious little girls, yet vote to support the legalized murder of babies. Again, this is all in line with the liberal theology and social gospel teachings of his pastor and church for the past 20 years.

I say that any “pastor” and any “church” that supports slaughtering babies should never be referred to with those names. How can you call yourself a pastor, how can a church call itself a church, how can a person honestly call themselves a follower of Jesus Christ, and support a woman making the decision to kill her baby? That is inconsistent with the teachings of Christ and the Bible, and even most hard hearted heathens who deny the existence of God understands that it is murder!

I love you and care about you so much. My guess is that Senator Obama will soon leave Trinity UCC to appease his political detractors. The fact is, he is 20 years too late. He, like ALL who are part of that church and most who are not part of Trinity, knew of the perverse theology and racist, anti-American views of Dr. Jeremiah Wright. This is not revelation to anyone in Chicago. I have told you about Dr. Wright and that church for
many years now.

Senator Obama has to make the same decision we all have to make. It was Jesus who said you can’t serve two masters. Is our master Jesus or do we serve another master? If Jesus is his master, Senator Obama needs to denounce the sin of homosexuality and take a stand for life. If politics is his master, he will continue to support these sins.

At some point, each person has to decide if you love Jesus or if you love this world. We make that decision many times throughout the day when we choose to obey God or disobey Him. If we say we love the Lord, we will obey Him. If we say we love the Lord and disobey Him, we obviously don’t love Him enough since it was Jesus who said, “If you love Me, you will obey Me.” I pray today that Senator Obama will love Jesus enough to obey Him, and I pray that you and I will love Him enough to obey Him.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller bkeller@liveprayer.com

From Moshe Laurie: Another Reason To Boycott Citgo!

Posted by Job on March 5, 2008

From Messianic Christian Moshe Laurie:

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Members of God’s Army,

We have just returned from Israel. We were blessed by the might and power moving all across the Land in our prayer. I will be sending out another “Desk …” very soon with all these great wonders included in it.

But, right now there is something that we need to cover in prayer and God’s blessing in His Name. We need to lift up our brother Larry so that he may over come in God’s Name this evil, exalting God’s Name in the process.

If you remember, this is about Brother Larry, from Tennessee, who was receiving these strong hints from his product distributor (Citgo), that he needs to take down part of his signs that are on his own private property, one of them, saying amongst other things, “Islam is the evil of this day.” He now has received official notice from the legal department of Citgo saying that he has five business days to remove the sign or they reserve the right to stop providing him with product to sell, which is a really bad thing because they also provide him with the credit card systems so they have a great weapon against him. They say that it is not to impede upon his freedom of speech – he can leave the rest of the signs up there, but they have a right under contract to protect their brand. It seems that speaking against Islam affects their brand, even when you are telling the truth.

Now the most important thing we need to understand here is that only one person has complained – a raging Muslim truck driver who, I’m sure, went to CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) to complain against Citgo and they folded.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, members of God’s army, it is time for us to show Citgo what it is to affect their brand name. I call upon you, on behalf of Larry, to let them know how displeased you are at them folding to the pressures of a minority group because it is not truthful that the band name is being affected. The threat of the brand being affected is being used all across the land because Larry tells me very specifically, that the vast majority are pleased with the signs. A few were ambivalent or didn’t care one way or the other but only this one gentleman, who took pictures to send to Citgo, was offended by the signs.

I again call upon you to let Citgo know how displeased you are that they use the weapon of their contract right to not allow him his freedom of speech, which they claim affects the band name. Let us affect their brand name.

And also, let us not forget that Hugo Chavez is the owner in defacto of Citgo with all its profits going back to his country. He has just been discovered to have been providing financing for Columbia’s largest guerrilla group and terrorist organization called FARC – Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Columbia (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia), which wants to overthrow the legitimate Columbian government. When Columbia’s anti-terrorist unit killed FARC’s leader across the border, not Chavez’s border, FARC moved ten divisions of military toward the Columbian border and just about declared open war. The President of Columbia has asked the International Criminal Court to, if possible, try Chavez for crimes against humanity because he has been financing FARC as they have been killing thousands and thousands of people. The United States and Europe have classified FARC as an international terrorist organization in 2002. The documents that have been found, after the killing of FARC’s leader, concerning Chavez are true.

By the way, the document from Citgo to Larry from Tennessee is also true. Larry will be sending a copy to Shofar Be Tzion Ministries International office in Marion as well as the Regional office in Connecticut.

Please send this all across the world. Let us let Citgo know that if they are concerned for their brand name being affected, let us show them what the affect is when they won’t allow the truth to go forth.

Bless you and may the Lord continue to give you strength to stand in His Army for this is the day that the Lord has made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it.

Let God’s will be done in our lives.

In service to the King,

Rabbi Moshe Laurie Moshe3@aol.com

Ann Coulter: Cultural Apostate Christian Matthew 6:24

Posted by Job on January 23, 2008

Note: in addition to the Bill Keller devotional below, I made a similar point in Jesus Christ Is Not Your Culture. Also note that I went after Coulter’s political dual covenant theology in Anne Coulter: Heretic! If you are a supporter of Ann Coulter because of her political beliefs, please know that Jesus Christ comes before worldly politics. Also, sharing Ann Coulter’s political beliefs in some areas may cause you to wonder which are actually supported by the Bible and which are of men.

The danger of those who call themselves followers of Christ, but live in
rebellion to Him! Is our allegiance to Christ or this temporal world?
Well, another high profile person who has used her Christianity to sell lots
of books has decided to publicly endorse the member of a satanic cult for
President. The loud, out-spoken, and over-the-top Ann Coulter has
officially endorsed Mormon cult member Mitt Romney for President. I can’t
judge her heart regarding her salvation, only God can do that. But given
the fact she has publicly declared that she is a born-again follower of
Christ, especially due to the fact she chose to use her Christianity to
promote herself and her books to the Christian populace, Ann is clearly a
spiritual baby in need of sitting under solid Biblical teaching to grow in
her faith.

Coulter represents this growing number of people who I call “Cultural
Christians.” They may have accepted Christ as their Savior and are saved,
but have grown very little from that point on. While being followers of
Christ, they are also very attached to this temporal world that we live in.
Sadly, the world affects their thoughts and actions more than the Word of
God does. They love the benefits of being a Christian, but have never grown
enough in their faith to understand the sacrifice that is required of a
follower of Christ. They like being a Christian, but they also like being
in this world. These cultural Christians are the very people Jesus spoke of
when he stated in Matthew 6:24, “”No one can serve two masters. Either he
will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and
despise the other.”

Listen, I know Ann Coulter is a political commentator and pundit who is best
known for her shtick of over the top rhetoric that sets her writings apart
from most others in the conservative movement. If Ann Coulter as a
political pundit wants to endorse Mitt Romney or anyone else, that is up to
her. Here is the problem. Because of the large number of Christians who
are active in politics and sympathetic to the conservative movement, years
ago Coulter found a rich vein of consumers for her books when she stated she
was a Christian and began to get opportunities to speak at high profile
Christian ministries like Coral Ridge, founded by the late D. James Kennedy,
Liberty University, founded by the late Dr. Jerry Falwell, and other highly
visible forums that reach out to Christians. In identifying herself as a
Believer and cashing in on her Christianity, comes a responsibility to take
a stand for the faith.

My friend, endorsing a man for President who lives and believes the
heretical and blasphemous teachings of Joey Smith and has become the
international poster boy for this nearly 200 year old satanic cult leading
the souls of millions of people to hell for all eternity is not taking a
stand for the faith but selling out the faith!!!

In her release announcing her endorsement of Romney for President, Coulter
naively states, “So having a candidate with a wacky religion isn’t all bad.”
I will give her the benefit of the doubt that she is simply a baby Christian
who has never grow much past her salvation experience, since Mormonism is
far more hideous than a “wacky religion.” It is a lie that is literally
leading the souls of men to hell. Coulter doesn’t understand that a vote
for Romney is tantamount to a vote for satan himself since a Romney
Presidency will influence millions worldwide to seek out the Mormon cult,
buy into their deception since they never tell people what they really
believe until long after they are hooked, and ultimately those souls will
die and end up burning in hell for all eternity since the only way to be
saved is by faith in Jesus Christ. Not the faux jesus of Joey Smith, but
the real Jesus of the Bible!

Sadly, Coulter is just the latest in a growing list of high profile
Christian leaders and politicos who identify themselves as Christians, to
sell out the faith for whatever short-term political access they may
receive. People like Jay Sekulow, Ralph Reed, Mark DeMoss, Paul Weyrich,
Bob Jones III, are just a few who have literally become Judases for selling
out Christ to back this satanic cult member. These people have literally
become tools of satan since they use their influence over millions to help
other Christians justify supporting a cult member for President. Like
Coulter, they have become the defenders of Romney to help people justify why
it is OK to ignore the spiritual implications of electing the member of a
satanic cult to the most powerful office in the world. I assure you, God
WILL hold them accountable for their actions one day.

Let me just say that I have heard every tortured argument there is to
justify backing Romney for President. My friend, the ends never justify the
means. Even if you believe this is the only man on the planet who can lead
this nation and that during his time in office he will do many great and
wonderful things, it still doesn’t negate the potential millions of souls
who will end up in hell because of the influence he will carry in that
position. Those who defend Romney or who simply haven’t got a clue about
spiritual things like Bill O’Reilly, think it is paranoia to extrapolate a
Romney Presidency into people joining the Mormon cult. Due to the fact we
have the largest percentage of two full generations who have never been to
church, coupled with the aggressive evangelistic efforts of the Mormon cult,
throwing in the influence the office of President carries worldwide, I can
guarantee you that this cult will grow like a wildfire worldwide, leading
the souls fo these new converts to hell.

The message to you in all of this is that you need to choose who your master
is. Is your master Jesus or this world? You can’t have two masters. The
reason there is such a thing as the “Christian left,” churches who accept
and condone sins like abortion and homosexuality, pastors who never give an
altar call, Christian leaders supporting a satanic cult member’s bid for the
Presidency, is because too many Christians never understood that when they
gave their life to Christ, it was no longer their life. It belongs to Him.
We are no longer of this world. We live in this world, but are just passing
through. Our thoughts and desires, goals and passions are no longer tied to
this temporal existence, but to our eternal life with Christ. As a
Christian, you are His follower, His ambassador. Your life is to serve Him.
You can’t serve Christ when you are serving satan!!!

I love you and care about you so much. Pray for Ann. I have no idea where
or if she goes to church, how she is fed spiritually if at all, whose if any
teaching she is under. She owes the Christian community a huge apology.
She decided to cash in on her Christianity which is fine. However, in so
doing she took on the responsibility to honor Christ with her life. It is
inconsistent for a follower of Christ to endorse or support in any way
someone who is part of a cult that operates in rebellion to God and His
Truth and is leading the souls of men to hell. It is pretty simple, do you
serve Jesus or this world?

I will be praying for you as well. It is so easy for Believers who live in
this world to fall in love with this world. It doesn’t mean you aren’t
saved or don’t love Jesus, but you end up compromising your faith. You
become a cultural Christian, someone who lets the culture dictate your
thoughts and actions as opposed to being guided by the Word of God. It
doesn’t mean you are drowning in alcohol, drugs, porn, illicit sex, or
things like that. It does mean that you have allowed the world to influence
you more than the Truth of God’s Word. That is why I implore you often to
read the Bible daily, pray daily, be in a good church, fellowship with other
Believers, find ways to serve. That way you never let the world you live in
take over you life.

Please keep your eyes and ears open. One of the lessons I have tried to
drive home over these 8+ years of Liveprayer is that you have to stay
focused on THE man and never a man (or woman). Men and women are frail
flesh and blood, prone to sin like anyone. While we expect those in
leadership, those high profile Believers we see in the media to live their
lives above reproach and honoring Christ, the reality is that doesn’t happen
often. Sift everything through the filter of God’s Word. Don’t blindly
follow anyone. Check with the Holy Spirit if those God has placed in your

people to being like sheep. Sadly, there are far too few good shepherds in
the world today. Too many sheep are being fleeced and led to the slaughter.
May you keep your eyes focused on Jesus, THE Shepherd!

Communists Accuse Russian State Television Of Using Christmas Church Service For Kremlin Propaganda

Posted by Job on January 9, 2008

Original link here. Remember that 1) Bush likes Putin and 2) the Russian government and the Orthodox Church are teaming up to suppress other forms of Christianity in Russia and 3) the Orthodox Church and the Russian state are getting ever more cozy under Putin.

Russia’s opposition Communists on Tuesday accused state television of turning a church service to mark Orthodox Christmas into a campaign advertisement for the man the Kremlin is backing to be the next president.

State-run channels repeatedly swung their cameras on to Dmitry Medvedev, favoured by President Vladimir Putin to succeed him in a March 2 election, when he attended an Orthodox Christmas Eve service in Moscow, they said.

“State television committed blasphemy by turning the transmission of the Christmas liturgy from the Church of Christ the Saviour into a show called ‘the Birth of the successor’,” senior Communist lawmaker Valery Rashkin said in a statement.

Cameras broadcasting the Jan. 6 service for the Channel One and Rossiya channels — main source of news for most Russians — focused on 42-year-old Medvedev instead of the altar, he said.

“All the thoughts of believers, and of any cultured person, at this moment are focused on one thing: the Saviour coming into the world. A church is not the place where the authorities and state television should organise reality shows,” said Rashkin.

The service was led by Patriach Alexiy II. No one was available to comment on the broadcasts at either of the two television stations.

During last year’s televised Easter service, Putin and senior Kremlin figures were shown on the altar when the Patriarch praised them for restoring Russia’s stability.

Putin is required by the constitution to step down when his second term ends this year year. Opinion polls show Medvedev is overwhelming favourite to win the election because of endorsement from the popular Putin.

The opposition accuses the Kremlin of using its control of the biggest television stations to ensure positive coverage for Medvedev while giving his challengers only limited access to the airwaves.

After decades of state atheism under Communist rule, the Russian Orthodox Church is experiencing a revival. Politicians are frequently seen attending church services and the Communists — now in opposition — no longer espouse atheism publicly as they did during the Soviet era.

Many Orthodox churches celebrate Christmas on Jan. 7, not Dec. 25 as elswhere in the Christian world, because they operate on the older Julian calendar.

Mike Huckabee’s Religious Right Crackup: Why The GOP Establishment Truly Loathes Him

Posted by Job on December 21, 2007

First, you had Roman Catholics declare that evangelicals had BETTER back Mitt Romney or be declared bigots. Second, you had evangelicals going after Mitt Romney. Third you have Pat Robertson endorsing Rudy Giuliani. Fourth you had Mike Huckabee’s rise after his outstanding debate performances, especially the Youtube one. Fifth, you had the hateful Mormon reaction towards Huckabee’s rise, aimed not so much towards Huckabee as his evangelical supporters. Sixth, you had the GOP leadership attacking Huckabee for basically having the same positions as Giuliani and Romney (yes, we know Giuliani openly courted illegal immigrants and blocked enforcement attempts by federal officials, and that Mitt Romney raised taxes and negotiated and signed a $50 abortion universal healthcare plan that will lead to more tax increases in the future, but it was OK when THEY do it because THEY are so like electable or principled or something and Huckabee is not!). Now, we have the clearest example of why the GOP establishment hates Huckabee: the tiff between Roman Catholics and evangelicals. Now the last Vatican Council closed the rift between Catholics and mainline Protestants. Billy Graham and religious right politics brought Catholics and mainstream respectable evangelicals closer together.

But it appears that Huckabee has no interest in being a mainstream respectable evangelical leader like Billy Graham, who sat right before Richard Nixon and did not raise a single voice of objection or even silently get up and leave when Nixon was ranting racist statements in his presence (please keep in mind that Graham is regarded as a civil rights leader) against not only blacks but also the low income whites that made up the bulk of Graham’s most faithful followers. Now if Huckabee were willing to play ball, he could have simply gone to the powers that be and gotten himself a fistful of cash. As it is, Huckabee is going his own way, and it is not a way that pleases the Vatican.

Take Mike Huckabee’s visit to the “church” of John Hagee, whom IndependentConservative has labeled the biggest heretic of 2007 for his preaching a form of dispensational pretribulationism that is so extreme that it denies Christianity. Now Hagee does appropriately oppose the Vatican, but only in a distorted fashion that supports his own devil’s doctrines. But even that is too much for the supporters of the replacement of God on earth, so now we have the National Review’s token minority, Roman Catholic Kathryn Jean Lopez, demanding that Mike Huckabee NOT preach at John Hagee’s church on the grounds that it would divide the Republican Party. Quoting Lopez with my comments, as usual, in italics and parentheses:

With great power comes great responsibility. And Mike Huckabee, once and future Baptist preacher, could afford to watch where he’s taking to the pulpit. That’s “future” because the former evangelical pastor will be at John Hagee’s Cornerstone Church on Sunday. According to a San Antonio Huckabee meetup site, Huckabee will be speaking at two Sunday services at the Texas megachurch. He’ll be making the appearances just days after he told CBS News that “It’s not like [I’m] stepping from the pulpit last Sunday and running for president.”

But maybe next Sunday . . .

The problem with this particular church is its pastor. It is no secret that evangelicals and Catholics have their theological differences. If we didn’t we’d all be under the same church roof like once upon a time. But Hagee has been particularly outspoken beyond his Cornerstone Church, as a supporter of Israel and a prolific writer. His activism has brought some attention to his views on the Catholic Church. In Hagee’s “black history” of the Catholic Church, for example, Catholics were far from only guilty of sins of omission when it came to the Nazis, they also gave Hitler his blueprint, according to Hagee. In a speech this year, Hagee pointed to the Catholic Church as having provided the jumping-off point for the Holocaust, claiming: “That was really drawn by the Roman church. [Hitler] did not do anything differently. He only did it more ruthlessly, and on a national scale.” (This is where Hagee’s doctrinal history is wrong; the Lutheran Church in Germany, which by that time had become a typical secular liberal “Christian values” state church, fully endorsed and supported Hitler to the point where they proclaimed that God had raised up Hitler to restore Germany to greatness. Liberal theologian Karl Barth’s claim to fame was opposing the Lutheran Church in this matter and being proven right by history, even if Barth was right on little else.) The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights has long been concerned about Hagee’s rhetoric, calling him a “veteran bigot,” accusing him of distorting Catholic teachings and misrepresenting Church history. The League has cautioned that, “Tone matters … and Hagee’s tone is nothing but derisive.”

Hagee is politically active and has had candidates at his church before and is likely to again. It’s probably only natural that Huckabee would be among them. And certainly other candidates have courted or been endorsed by religious figures who are not known for their ecumenical diplomacy. But after weeks of being a divider, not a uniter — pretending to innocently raise questions about Mormon theology to a New York Times reporter, informing Today Show viewers that he is really the choice for evangelicals — Huckabee should be sensitive to his unnecessarily exclusionary tactics.

As the former governor of Arkansas, successor to the Little Rock Clinton administration, Mike Huckabee above all people should understand the importance of having a strong coalition to BEAT HER in the fall. Speaking like a man seeking to be president of evangelical America, not president of the United States, Huckabee told Meredith Vieira earlier this week: “There’s a sense in which all these years the evangelicals have been treated very kindly by the Republican party. They wanted us to be a part of it, and then one day, one of us actually runs and they say, ‘Oh, my gosh! Now they’re serious.’” (Of course, this is precisely how non – evangelical supporters have been acting towards his campaign. None of them have even so much as stated that they want to see an evangelical in this race or any other. Quite the contrary, they have made a point of making it clear that they prefer Mormons or even secular candidates to evangelicals at every turn.)

Huckabee, meanwhile, is leaving some non-evangelical conservatives wondering, “Oh, my gosh. Maybe they never wanted to be allied with us.” (No mention that evangelicals are wondering the same.) Huckabee is working right now, intentionally or not, on breaking down a winning coalition of religious conservatives. (Right. The previous traditions of having religious conservatives voting for necromancers like Ronald Reagan and universalist occultists like George H. W. and George W. Bush was so much better, just like everything would be just fine were religious conservatives to vote for Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney now.)

When Pope John Paul II died in 2005, some of the most moving statements coming out of congressional offices were from evangelical conservatives who viewed him as an important leader in defending the sanctity of human life. (Again, you would be fine with evangelicals supporting pro – death Roman Catholic Rudy Giuliani, don’t you? Of course you would.) Many of them had adopted his “culture of life” language and thinking. (Sure, as if evangelicals hadn’t been using that phraseology for decades.) They saw him as an ally and were inspired by his leadership. They joined him, despite theological differences, in important cultural and political fights. It was and is a natural pairing. (It was never a “pairing” but rather Rome using evangelicals to gain power for themselves, a situation that you wish to preserve.) Mike Huckabee, who is not a conservative on all things (Rudy Giuliani is not a conservative on anything but do you mention him? no because he is from New York and a Catholic), but is on social issues, should know that and treasure and protect and foster these alliances. He’s a riveting speaker who could rally social conservatives, at least to whip them up to fight another day. (There. You said it. That is what you want. You have no desire to see an evangelical ever become President or a legitimate leader in the conservative movement. Your only desire is to create another pawn to replace the compromised or fading Pat Robertson, James Dobson, Ralph Reed, etc. to deliver votes to you people.) Instead, he’s executing a divide-and-conquer strategy. (Speaking of “divide and conquer”, what are the many Republican Jews that love John Hagee going to say about your demands that Mike Huckabee not speak at John Hagee’s church because a conservative Catholic insists on a revisionist form of the Holocaust favorable to the Catholic Church be adhered to?)

When Mitt Romney was convinced he had to give a “Mormon speech,” he gave a speech about religious liberty and America. It wasn’t, in other words, about him. Of course, that was, in part, a political calculation — how much could be gained by talking about Mormon theology during a political campaign? But it was also just the right thing. (OK, so willfully deceiving people on matters of faith in order to get them to vote for you is the right thing to do. Gotcha. Thanks for admitting that this is precisely what the GOP has been doing to evangelicals for all these decades and you are angry at Huckabee for not willing to keep the scam going.) It’s a political campaign and people want to hear about his political thinking — what America means to him and how he fits into it all, what he can offer Americans in terms of leadership. (No, evangelicals want to hear him stop claiming that Mormonism is Christianity because unless he does he shows that he has no respect for the same Christians that he hypocritically demands respect from, and is fundamentally dishonest and cannot be trusted in office, as if his betraying the Massachusetts voters by flip – flopping on every single social issue did not demonstrate that already. Ironically, Roman Catholic religious right commentators like yourself and Bob Novak claim that Mitt Romney’s being able to lie and get away with it to the voters of Massachusetts is precisely why evangelicals should support him! In reality, Roman Catholics could care less about whether Romney is going to go back on his promise not to use the White House to promote Mormonism, because they know that relatively few Roman Catholics convert to Mormonism as opposed to huge numbers of evangelicals, and as a matter of fact I would bet they get some sort of perverse pleasure out of seeing evangelicals become Mormons.) Since Mike Huckabee has found himself at the front of the Republican field, it’s been more The Mike Show than not. (And that is different from the other candidates in the race how? Oh, that is right. Only the other candidates are supposed to run races with an actual expectation of winning. Everything evangelicals are supposed to do is to promote the GOP while receiving absolutely nothing in return.) In a treadmill interview with the New York Times earlier this week, he claimed “I’m being questioned about the details of my faith like no one else.” Mitt Romney and Barack Obama might legitimately argue that point, Gov. He’s cast aspersions on another candidate’s religion. (You mean like you are doing his right now?) He’s highlighted hostilities among evangelicals and others in the Republican party. (You mean like you have done with about four or five of your own columns including this one?) If he keeps this up, he’s going to do some unholy damage. (You mean force evangelicals to admit that the GOP is never going to push their agenda and that they have been taken for a ride all this time?)

With all due respect to Hagee and his congregation (who are, of course, entitled to believe and say as they choose), Mike Huckabee should cancel his Sunday plans with Hagee. It can be his Christmas present to his party — to hold it together instead of continuing to tear it apart. (No, even if he does cancel this visit, you will still tear down Huckabee’s campaign by claiming that evangelicals are a bunch of ungrateful dumb bigots like you have been doing for the past month. What you are doing is demanding that evangelicals not fight back.)

This is really what it is all about: Huckabee’s populist economic rhetoric. While Huckabee has not overtly come out against free trade and other forms of economic globalism (regrettably he has done the contrary) Huckabee has been more than willing to rally and exploit the feelings of those harmed and alienated by economic globalism. That was why hypocrite heretic Ron Paul went after Huckabee: he and the Huckster are going after some of the same people. But in doing this, Huckabee is treading on very dangerous ground for the GOP. The left has for years pointed out how the GOP has maintained the support of low – income whites despite their pro – rich and pro – corporate economic views by baiting Hollywood (and our universities) as bastions of anti – Christian elitism. And they are right. But this is the trick. The GOP bashes the liberal PROFESSORS at these universities, not the corporations that endow their chairs and give these universities tons of money. The GOP bashes the liberal Hollywood ACTORS, DIRECTORS, and SINGERS that create anti – Christian movies and songs, NOT Sony, Time Warner, Disney, etc. that have made the conscious decision to pervert the masses.

By keeping the focus on Madonna, they draw the spotlight away from the fact that no one would have heard of this woman in the first place had corporate America not signed her to a record deals, constantly bombarded us with her music, videos, and movies, and continued to keep her in the public eye even after her many artistic and commercial failures (of which she has actually produced more of than her successes). You hate MTV? Good for you. But what about the corporation that owns MTV, and the other corporations that carry it as part of basic cable or satellite? You hate pornography? Good for you. But the Internet pornography industry would dry up overnight if the big banks stopped allowing their credit cards and similar to be used to support this stuff. And then there is the fact that many things vital to conservatism including Fox News are owned by the world’s biggest pornographer Rupert Murdoch!

So when one looks at it, the anti – corporate message (and by that I mean amoral unaccountable global corporations that not only are only interested in money but seem to have figured out that the more they do to destabilize cultures in nation – states the more power they have to control the governments and markets in these nations … if you have a population that is strung out on porn, rock music, sports gambling, and unhealthy foods whether we are talking about the high fat high sugar junk foods or the even more harmful chemically engineered health foods for the body image worshiping diet and exercise fanatics a corporation can easily manipulate it to maximize its power and profits) is actually a pro – Christian, pro – family, and pro – freedom message. What the GOP and the religious right have done is successfully convince white evangelicals that big government is evil (which is true because the Bible says so) BUT THAT BIG BUSINESS IS GOOD (when the Bible says opposite).

Now initially, Jerry Falwell and a lot of the others understandably signed onto the “business is good for Christianity” message to oppose communism, and that is understandable, as in addition to the external threat of the Soviet Union communism was a huge INTERNAL threat as well. But in the process, these folks forgot that the definition of fascism according to Benito Mussolini is “the corporatization of government power.” If you read Daniel and Revelation, the anti – Christ regime and the regime of the great harlot Babylon is not a communist one but a hypercapitalist fascist one where any filthy perversion that one wants can be had at the right price. Also, consider the figure of the false prophet … the anti – Christ’s rule will not be based on atheist Marxist ideology but will include a false religious ideology that will be very important to it. Religious right leaders at the time claimed that the atheist and Marxist doctrines of communism was a religion in its own right, and while I do not disagree, what the eschatological scriptures of the Bible seem to point to resembles much more closely the emperor/sun worship of the Roman Empire or the state religion of fascist Nazi Germany. So it appears that the Christian leaders that hopped onto the pro – business agenda of the Ronald Reagan (who was the first president to have official diplomatic relations with the Vatican) GOP in their zeal to oppose communism might have actually enabled a worse evil. And then you have the fellows that came up after Falwell: Pat Robertson and James Dobson. Pro – business religious right politics was very much in the interests of building their own financial empires … Robertson is reportedly a billionaire (and you know that with his many oil interests he is not the least bit concerned with how the tripling of the price of gas under the Bush administration has harmed the poor) and though Dobson’s finances are not as well known the fellow is obviously extremely wealthy.

But at what cost? China has cast off Maoism because they have discovered that one can become a more powerful and effective aggressor and imperialist using economics than with a military, and is also experimenting with a version of state – sponsored false Christianity that they find is useful to their purposes, and Pat Robertson is helping them in that regards. In Russia meanwhile Vladimir Putin has for all intents and purposes made the Russian Orthodox Church a state church, and the Through The Bible ministry reports that both are working together to oppose evangelical outreach efforts in that nation, and we also know how aggressively Russia has used economics to pursue its own interests. And yes, some would add Israel to that mix. “Christian Zionists” like John Hagee and Pat Robertson do their best to prevent you from knowing this, but Zionism was originally a secular socialist movement, and as such Israel was originally a secular socialist state, but over the decades Israel has become increasingly theocratic and aggressively capitalist. It is interesting to note that their relations with the Vatican have greatly improved during that time. It is even more interesting to note that so has their relations with supposed anti – Catholic evangelicals such as John Hagee. Prior to this, Israel’s support came mostly from the Christian left and the secularists (who have now largely shifted sides to the Palestinians).

So what does this have to do with Rome? Well, the Roman Catholic Church supports globalism. Always has. Now originally, even after Constantine made Christianity the church of the Roman Empire, the bishop of Rome did not have ultimate authority over the church and considerable influence over state matters. As a matter of fact, no one even claimed that the bishop of Rome should have this authority until Leo the Great in about 450 AD (Constantine’s Council of Nicea was 325 AD), and when he did there was considerable resistance from not only the state but the church also! It was not until 150 years later when Gregory I achieved virtually any of what Leo the Great first asserted for the bishop of Rome, and hundreds of years more until the bishop of Rome achieved primary (though not full) power over the church and enough over the state to crown Charlemagne emperor (by Leo III, the namesake of the first fellow to assert full power for the bishop of Rome).

Leo III had reasons for doing so that fit the modern globalist agenda quite nicely. Not only was there substantial opposition inside the church to the growing power of the papacy, but there was state opposition too. The solution: reduce the number of states! That was the result of declaring Charlemagne the sole political ruler of all of the territories that the church saw fit to lay claim to in the west (the eastern church and its lands was a different, more complex story). All dissenters faced the full force of Charlemagne’s army. This was in the papacy’s interests because even having to deal with one secular ruler that proved to be hostile was preferable to dealing with many rulers with varying degrees of support for and opposition to the bishop of Rome. Propagating the power of the bishop of Rome was what was really important, not the attitudes of a particular leader who incidentally can always be replaced (isn’t that right Saddam Hussein?).

So while the nations of this world still have their powerful armies, that is not where the real power in today’s world lies. No, that power rests with 1) financial markets and 2) technology. And just as it was in the 9th century, the more distinct economic and political entities there are, the harder it is for any one person or group that wishes to assert central authority. Despite what we still choose to call or regard ourselves, the net effects of things like global corporations, economic integration, participation in international governing bodies, treaties, and open immigration is the removal of these distinctions. The result is that when individual nations – and the people in them – have less power, stateless global rulers have more. The best part is that whether you sign your national sovereignty away by allowing EU style full economic integration, with a series of military and economic treaties to the United Nations NATO and similar, having an open immigration policy (or simply refusing to enforce your border and not punishing nations like MEXICO that commits economic and cultural acts of war by actively encouraging, aiding, and abetting their citizens – and anyone else – in crossing it) or by simply handing the keys over to AOL Time Warner and British Petroleum and allowing them to run the show, the end result is actually the same. Anyone who refuses to play ball, it seems, either winds up assassinated or seeing their nations turn into economic and political basket cases. If you have huge reserves of oil, uranium, or gold you can stave it off for a time, but only for a time. Never forget that Pat Robertson did urge George W. Bush to assassinate Hugo Chavez, for instance.

Now the folks behind all this are rather crafty. They know that universal acceptance of this situation in this day and time will not come. So what do they do? They take half of their agenda (say corporate globalization by monopolies) and promote it to the right, and then take the other half (unrestricted immigration and global warming treaties) and promote it to the left. Then contrive (and contribute to) a bunch of hot – button issues (i.e. racism, which these folks contribute to by disseminating racist images of blacks to through the media that causes whites to fear the images and blacks to conform to them … by the way the founder of Black Entertainment Television Bob Johnson became a very rich man in a short time thanks to federal rules forcing cable companies to carry BET on basic cable, and please note that both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have Bob Johnson on their speed dials) that keep the two opposing groups so distracted by emotionalism that its members cannot recognize that they were really advocating opposite ends of the same agenda, and causes them to completely ignore it when both groups push precisely the same thing.

The Democrats that opposed NAFTA when George H. W. Bush first proposed it joined in the mocking of H. Ross Perot and later supported it when Bill Clinton enacted it. And the Republicans that called Bill Clinton a communist traitor for working so hard to get China into the WTO – including evangelicals that opposed China’s persecution of Christians not in their state church – either said nothing or supported George W. Bush’s finishing Bill Clinton’s job of getting China into the WTO. NRA – type conservatives that successfully defeated Bill Clinton’s version of the Patriot Act after the Oklahoma City bombings but were either silent or generally supportive of George W. Bush’s Patriot Act after September 11th, which either the Clinton or Bush administration could have easily prevented. Now these same NRA – type conservatives are almost certainly going to back either anti – gun Mitt Romney or anti – gun Rudy Giuliani because one of them is “the most electable” against the even more anti – gun Hillary Clinton. And so on.

Meanwhile, the various interests groups of these camps that think that they oppose each other are conditioned over time to accept just about anything. For instance, had Jimmy Carter signed welfare reform in the 1970s, there would have been a massive leftist uproar. But after the perceived horrors of the Reagan administration and the threat of Newt Gingrich, Bill Clinton was able to invite an overweight black single mother to the welfare reform bill signing without a peep from a single black leader other than Juan Williams. In a similar fashion, had Reagan appointed an openly homosexual man to be his AIDS czar with his vice president refusing to support a political war against gay marriage (and his own homosexual daughter goes on to become “a parent” with her lesbian partner) with Nancy Reagan stating on the Today Show that Roe v. Wade should not be overturned, it would have led to an evangelical walkout from the GOP. But Bush does these things and more and evangelicals remain his most loyal supporters, and now prominent evangelical leaders are lining up behind either $50 universal healthcare abortion Mitt Romney who tried to run to the left of Ted Kennedy on gay rights or late term abortion supporting cross – dresser for gay pride parades Rudy Giuliani. It is also interesting that the frontrunners in both races: Obama, Clinton, Giuliani, Romney, are considered “moderates” whose primary function is to get members of their own globalist coalition to accept as much of the agenda of the (alleged) opposing side as possible.

And that goes back to why Huckabee is so hated. Right now, the dogma on the right is that it is completely unacceptable to oppose corporate America even if they replace as many American workers with foreign workers as they can, even if they adopt domestic partner benefits that the government then copies to write their civil union bills, even if they make tons of money by dealing with governments like Russia, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, China, etc., and even if their CEOs are brazen criminals that loot their companies for billions without any accountability. All Huckabee is doing is stating that, you know, maybe it is kinda sorta OK to oppose how these corporations have betrayed not only your personal financial self – interest but are daily committing acts of high treason against your own nation.

And that is making the GOP leadership apoplectic. MAYBE if evangelicals start resenting corporate America for outsourcing his job to India, relocating his son’s factory to China, and refusing to hire his other son for the construction job that would have paid his way through college or trade school because it can hire an undocumented Guatemalan for 1/3 the price, then they will start resenting corporate America for zealously doing business in these Marxist and Muslim nations that treat Christians so bad. And then MAYBE they will stop associating “Brokeback Mountain” and Madonna with the liberal Hollywood talent and media that produces and publicizes these abominations but the corporations that truthfully owns it all.

If that ever happens, the religious right will start thinking “Why am I so dirty, bruised, smelly, and disease – ridden? Oh, that’s right. I got into bed with the Rockefeller Wall Street Republican Party and then allowed it to do with me whatever it pleased.” And then the whole deal falls apart. Since joining up with the Democrats is not an option, you would see evangelicals leading – or joining – an effort to oppose the very sources that are undermining this nation – and let us face it the evangelical movement with it – that they are currently unwittingly supporting. Do not get me wrong, these people don’t REALLY fear a third political party movement. The multiparty parliamentary systems that Europe, Israel, and pretty much every “democratic” nation on earth have has not inhibited the globalist agenda that I am speaking of; if anything it has made it easier for them. Rather, it appears that what they most fear is a large group of unaffiliated yet active, engaged, and involved people. As a matter of fact, Gary North, a person prominent in the founding of the religious right says in The Silence Of The Fundamentalist Lambs at lewrockwell.com/north/north575.html (please read it even if you disagree with his theological views) asserts that the religious right was founded in large part by the same people who founded the religious left (including the civil rights movement!) precisely to make sure that the then – unaffiliated white evangelical and fundamentalist Christians chose a side. Since these people were successfully manipulated into supporting first Jimmy Carter in 1976 and Ronald Reagan in 1980, it really did not matter which side they chose so long as they picked one.

Now do not get me wrong. Huckabee, who is joined at the hip with the people who represent the worst of false evangelical Christianity (see Ties Between Mike Huckabee And John Hagee Discovered! He Also Has Ties To Kenneth Copeland, Tim LaHaye, And Rick Warren!) is not some contender for righteousness. Quite the contrary, Huckabee supported these people by going as far as to give scholarships to the children of illegal immigrants as a way of inducing their parents to move to Arkansas and work for Tyson Foods. Mike Huckabee also supported the Marxist National Education Association’s war against homeschoolers in Arkansas (see here and here). Now please note that Lew Rockwell is a pro – Ron Paul outfit and I regrettably have had to cease supporting him, so view it in that context, but everything that they say about Mike Huckabee is still nonetheless true. The national homeschool association endorsed Huckabee, but this was their reasoning: “When you understand he’s a Baptist minister, you don’t have to ask what he stands for.” With such logic the anti – Christ would be well – pleased! But it is very possible that the RHETORIC of Mike Huckabee might open some evangelical eyes that the GOP would rather remain wide shut.

Then again, it could be part of the game. After all, illegal immigration fighter Tom Tancredo, after helping scuttle an immigration deal that would have shut down the border over the fantasy that we could actually identify and deport 15 million illegal immigrants or even get most of them to voluntarily repatriate to Mexico, did endorse Mitt Romney yesterday. Calling it amnesty is one thing, calling it logistical reality is another.

To All Defenders Of Juanita Bynum, Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen, TD Jakes, And Other False Preachers: The Cult Of “Do Not Judge”

This is courtesy of Brother Dennis Thompson. Brother Dennis Thompson and I do not agree on everything (see his comment and my response on spiritual warfare) but his comment on An Expose Of Just How Bad Juanita Bynum And Thomas Weeks Are to the many Juanita Bynum defenders on it called The Cult of”DO NOT JUDGE” was too outstanding to remain a mere response to a weblog post: it deserved the spotlight in its own right. Since an Internet search did not turn up the original document in a weblog or website, I will provide the text of Brother Thompson’s comments here. And if you are not saved through Jesus Christ, please follow The Three Step Salvation Plan so that you can be. Salvation can be yours today!

The cult of “Do not Judge”

This article is being written on behalf of all the ministries and people that defend the faith with the truth and are accused of judging because they test those who teach falsely with the Word of God.

The premise-Does God tell us not to judge?
The Bibles answer-No He does not.

John 7:24 Jesus says: “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” What Jesus does tell us is not to judge by our own opinions, but instead judge by the word of God, that is what it means to judge righteously. He always encouraged the people to judge. God told Israel to judge the prophets in the Old Testament. He had the true prophets judge the false but the people reacted saying the very same things people are saying today. Your being negative oh you never have anything good to say. In the New Testament we are told to judge prophecy, to discern, to test the spirits and we are told to test ALL things. We are told to do this because it helps keep us away from what is false and evil. The apostle Paul showed us how to judge so there would be no second guesswork. The apostle Paul said, “If anyone preaches another gospel let him be accursed” Would anyone say to Paul’s face “your judging.” In 2 Thess. 3:14-15 “And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.” Strong guidelines that many avoid to do today. These are done not to condemn but to bring repentance and restoration.

Lets let God decide whose right or wrong. Does this sound familiar? Except this particular statement was from a Muslim. But it can be anyone from any religion. Even Christians say we should not pursue a matter to find the truth. I realize that when one’s favorite teacher or leader is questioned the initial human response can be one of agitation and turn to over emotionalism. But when feelings do not subside and escalate into anger, rage, and maliciousness, it is not godly at all. Despite that they believe they have a cause to protect their teacher, it is not advantageous for anyone to have their emotions rule if they are trying to arrive at the truth.

There has been a trend going on for a number of years that has dulled the spiritual senses of the church and leavened the convictions of many a Christian. It has risen to new heights as of late where if anyone has anything to say about another they are told, “Don’t judge, “touch not my anointed” “do my prophets no harm” etc. Maybe if some of the people that quote these verses would look at what they actually say “in context,” they wouldn’t have such flawed arguments, they would not find themselves becoming entangled emotionally. Its not just finding a few words to prove a position, but what do they mean in the Scripture in its context and can they apply to us today.

What is ironic is that to tell people they are judgmental is to judge them. What people are doing is recommending for us not to judge by the word of God, but dispense with any discernment, just like they do it. Some even threaten and curse those who test because they cannot deal with the Scriptural proof presented to them. Christians are not to threaten or curse others because they disagree. Neither should they be warning that they are going to prayer, as though God will answer their prayer of vengeance and avenge the persons teaching that was examined and found false. The facts more often than not are; those who say not to judge are incredibly more judgmental then those they accuse of judging.

One person wrote, “Whether _______ is right or wrong is not up to you to discuss with anyone.” Lets look at this illogical statement. Now we can never discuss doctrine and peoples teachings. This means they too cannot discuss anything that they think, even if it is beneficial! But Heb.6:1-3 tells us we can discuss doctrine. “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.” In other words many of these things should be settled, but there are many things that are not.

What I have found is very few challenge back quoting from the Bible to prove their position. Rarely do they say this person does not teach this or you misunderstood, he really means this. What they argue is just don’t test it, or don’t say this because I know such and such for years and they are doing great things for God. That’s judging isn’t it? And it is done by appearance. Then when this does not work they will respond by calling names and threatening people using Bible cliché’s as “don’t judge” “don’t touch God’s anointed,” “do my prophets no harm,” etc., all taken out of context. If they were to think biblically they would realize we are all anointed, not just some, and to come against another brother or sister that is trying to obey Scripture means they too are coming against God’s anointed. Everyone in the body of Christ is anointed; nonetheless what someone teaches is to be tested. How do we know this? Paul commended the Thessalonians for doing so, even when it was Paul himself that was being examined by Scripture (Acts 17:11).That is a right Spirit.

So many have been indoctrinated into the constraint of don’t say anything against another no matter how far off they are. Let God will deal with them. If this were true, then why are we given all the commands in Scripture to judge? Why all the warnings that deception and falsehood will permeate the Church in the end and we are to be on guard? We are told to deal with it and not allow it to continue. It’s not to say that we make mountains out of molehills, but some are already mountains that need to be moved. So lets speak to the mountain, speak to those who congregate at the foot of it and tell them.

We should take note, we all judge things all day: let me give some examples. When you sit down you make sure you’re comfortable, you’re judging whether or not you are comfortable. When you eat food at restaurant you judge whether it taste good or bad, and you judge the service you were given. When you bring your car to a mechanic you look for a good one and then you judge if he did a good job. When you buy a product you make sure it works as advertised. When you receive bills in the mail you judge whether they were recorded right. Even in conversations you judge whether someone is telling the truth. So we judge not only every day, but throughout the day. You can’t help but judge! All these things mentioned do not necessarily have an affect on your spiritual life. But the things that actually can affect your spiritual life people are saying, “don’t judge.” If ever a lie of the Devil was told this was it. When the Devil tempted Eve he hoped that she would not judge what he was saying with what God had already spoke. During the conversation (Gen.3) she began to challenge him by the word of God but he responded by bringing doubt on God’s word, saying “has God said?” By the time he was finished she believed the Devil over what God said. She didn’t judge, and instead she and Adam were judged!

What Has God said?
Jethro gave advice after seeing Moses was going to be burnt out on ruling. Moses responded in Deut. 1:15-18 “So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and knowledgeable men, and made them heads over you, leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, leaders of tens, and officers for your tribes. “Then I commanded your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear the cases between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the stranger who is with him. ‘You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.’ “And I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.” This was the law to Israel and a principle of how they were to live. So they were to judge even the menial matters among themselves. This is made clearer in the New Testament about doctrine.

This is again repeated in Deut.16:18-19 “You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment.” You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.”

Why are some of the most drastic things said by famous people ignored, these scriptures show that it is because people are partial, loyal to the renowned, not caring if they are wrong or right. A bribe can be money or it can be other things such as promises or blessings that will be lost. The outcome is that it twists the words of the righteous when they are manipulated not to say the truth.

Judges 2:18-19 “And when the LORD raised up judges for them, the LORD was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the LORD was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them. And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they reverted and behaved more corruptly than their fathers, by following other gods, to serve them and bow down to them. They did not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn way.” The judges were to implement the commands from the word. Notice what happens when there is no judgment to decide what is right or wrong, the people do what they feel like and reap the consequences. The end of the book of judges it tells us what happened, every man did what was right in their own eyes (Judges 17:6, 21:25).

The judges were restored under Jehoshaphat king of Judah. 2 Chron.19:4-7 “So Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the mountains of Ephraim, and brought them back to the LORD God of their fathers. Then he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, and said to the judges, “Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.” Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.”

For even Asaph said in Ps. 82:1-4 “God stands in the congregation of the mighty; he judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked? Selah “Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked.” People are defenseless from the wicked when they put aside judgment. Today there are many people that are abused by those who Lord it over them, by manipulation, by teachings and promises that never come true. If you have a heart of compassion you cannot just sit idly by while this takes place, even to those you may not know personally. It is being done to the body of Christ and the body of Christ needs to say something.

What did Jesus actually say on judging?
Protectors of false teachers will say Jesus said, “not to Judge,” quoting Matthew 7:1, therefore that we cannot “judge.” At first glance it appears that Jesus does forbid judging, but lets continue to read the passage. Matthew 7:1-5: “Judge not, that you be not judged.” For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?” Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?” Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

In other words you can judge as along as you are not doing the same thing. If you want to help another and have taken care of yourself in this area, then you are able to see and operate on your brother. Jesus does not say don’t operate under any circumstances, but allows us to remove the speck when we can see. But Jesus goes on and says in v:6: “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” What He is saying is that we need to make sure whom we are engaged with. When you try to correct someone with the Holy Word and they are haters of truth they will not receive the pearls and will turn on you. So we are to weigh out whom we give the Word of God out to.

Christ kept this theme throughout His ministry rebuking the people in Luke 12:55-57 “And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is.” Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? “Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?” This was said right after Jesus lectured on His coming, how it would bring division, not unity (Luke 12:56-57).

Jesus also said “Beware of false prophets!” (Matthew 7:15) this is a warning but comes as a command from our Lord. But how could we “beware” of “false prophets” unless we test what they say? Instead of obeying what Jesus said, some actually ignore this and support them. How? By saying, “don’t test it,” “don’t touch God’s anointed.” They do this because they have been taught “by them” not to question them. Loyalty and respect are good qualities but we cannot fall into the trap that because so and so was in ministry for 20-40 years or we know them personally that they can’t say something terribly wrong. True men of God are willing to be corrected from the Word, no matter who spoke a certain teaching or prophecy.

“Ye shall know them by their fruits,” Christ said (Matthew 7:16). In judging their “fruits,” we must judge by God’s Word. So what is fruit? Well to understand fruit we need to take a few steps backwards. The seed is the word of God, it is what gives us the new life. As it grows in us we mature until we become like a tree (Psalm 1), for a tree bears fruit. Christ is using a natural example of a spiritual principle– a mature tree bears fruit. If the seed is the word, than the tree and the roots of the tree must be of the word. So a good tree bears good fruit. The fruit can’t be good if it is not based on the word, in other words they need to have correct doctrine and teach right to have good fruit. This does not mean one is right on everything but they will hold to the core teachings and are consistent in these. They will not say one thing one time, and contradict themselves another time.

In the New Testament this statement sums up what Jesus meant on judging. In John 7:24 says: “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” Jesus is saying we can “judge” only do it correctly, not by what you see or hear but by the Word of truth. Just because you don’t want to judge does not mean you have the right to tell others not to. To accuse others of doing what the Bible tells us to do– is to judge without a righteous judgment.

Jesus said in John 5:30 “I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.” To seek God’s will in a matter is to go to Scripture to see what he says on something. Jesus had perfect judgment because he heard from the Father. He also delivered this word to us and says it is not only His Word but the Fathers (Jn.14:24). So if the Word of God is used correctly it is not you or I judging but God, therefore it becomes a righteous judgment.

Jesus again made it clear how to judge unrighteously “You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. “And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me” (John 8:15-16). Jesus did not judge by appearances, He was able to know the heart. While we do not have the same ability, He has given us directions on how we can judge and be accurate in it. A crooked stick by itself may not show that it is bent, but it will always be seen as crooked when laid next to the straight stick of the word.

Paul wrote in Phil. 3:15-17 “Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule let us be of the same mind. Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.” Paul used himself and the other apostles as our physical examples in everything. Paul could not deal individually with the many false teachers springing up like weeds in the different areas. Paul said to follow his example as he followed Christ. Christ openly showed what is false, so did Paul, and so did the other apostles. Much of the New Testament was written to publicly correct false teaching within the Church itself. Every second epistle written by an apostle is for correction or judging false doctrine. In 2 Timothy 4:10, Paul judges and warns about a man named Demas. Later in the same epistle (2:17) he warns of the heresies of two others naming them. Paul did a lot of judging and warning when it came to false teachers that could influence the church, because he cared. What if Paul didn’t judge and allowed Alexander to continue teaching, what if Peter let Simon Magus stay in the Church? Think it through!

We also have permission to judge false doctrine, and those who really care do so.

What about love?
John the Baptist called both the Pharisees and Sadducees “a generation of Vipers” (snakes) (Matt. 3:7), he rebuked Herod the king. Today, he would be accused of being unloving, unkind, no respect for leaders and most of all un-Christian. Jesus and Paul would also be accused of being judgmental if one would examine what they actually said. I believe God has been training the Church to recognize error and deception because the real deception that could deceive the elect may be just around the corner. If you can’t judge today’s falsehood you will certainly be unable to tomorrow when things escalate. Is it now unloving to stop someone from going over cliff when you already know where the road ends.

How else do you protect the sheep if you do not speak out? Let me give a simple example: If someone is selling a false product in your city and numerous people are buying it and becoming sick. What would you do? What if you tried to go to the manufacturer but he would not meet with you because he is an important man in the community and you are not? Do you keep silent and just let it go or is it your duty to let others know? James says not to do something you know is right is sin. So you are sinning if you have any idea it could be wrong. Here in lies the problem, the people who say don’t judge do this for protection of their teachers. But they will often admit that they know there are things wrong, but they have not come to the conclusion of how wrong it is.

The Apostle Paul also writes: “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all discernment (judgment) that you may approve things that are excellent in God’s sight.” It is this same love that he applies to Eph. 4:14-15 “that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ” This truth would be the word that would challenge the words from deceivers who are deceived and affecting the body with “winds of doctrine.”

We are to identify certain people for the brethren’s own safety. We are to identify false teachers for the purpose of protecting the sheep in Christ’s Church, and we certainly don’t need to apologize for this. We are our brothers keeper. This love is a discriminating love, a love that cares enough for others and is not concerned with what people think of you, especially when you know that you are right from the Word.

Hanging with people who teach falsely will rub off on you, the cliché for self protection “touch not my anointed” becomes “let it be,” it is grinded into the followers and moaned by them toward those who have anything to say about their favorite teachers. One needs to hear both sides before they can make a just decision. Find the proof that what they teach is from the Bible and not from their own imagination of what they think the Bible says.

Lets look at what those who say not to judge are actually saying the Word of God states, next to what the Word of God actually says.

Those who say “Don’t judge- 1 Thess. 5:21-22 “Don’t Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”

The BIBLE-1Thess. 5:21-22 “Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”

Is it evil to test-NO it is not! We are told to test ALL things, not just pick and choose what and when to test. Now this does not mean we become the judge and jury or walk around with a critical eye on everything. It means we are to be sober and vigilant and not take for granted that everything said is the Gospel.

Those who say “Don’t judge- I John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do believe every spirit, don’t test the spirits, whether they are of God”

The BIBLE- I John 4:1-3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

“Do my prophets no harm.” Meant not to lay hands on them. False prophets were to be rejected and stoned in the Old Testament (Deut.18:20). Instead , Israel killed the true prophets (Mt.23:35-37). No one is laying hands on anyone today. The Bible tells us to judge prophets. 1 Cor. 14:29 “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.” It does not just say let only the other prophets judge, but the “others.” These others may have the gift of prophecy or those gifted in the word and Spirit. This would also relate to 1 Cor.12:10 which tells us one of the gifts of the Spirit is a discerning of spirits. (judging, determining what is from God or not). Exactly what John writes in I John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God” Here again we are told to judge, and in this case it could mean the whole congregation. The “discerning of spirits” is probably the most needed gift in the end times where Jesus said many false prophets and teachers would be around us. When there is a need God raises up a standard. As Paul continues to write “the spirit of the prophets are subject to the prophets.” This does not mean we turn over a meeting to false prophets to validate the prior false prophets that spoke. Today we have a repetition of the error of the people in Jeremiah’s time “An astonishing and horrible thing has been committed in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own power; and My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?” (Jer. 5:30-31) He asks a question that we need to answer today. What will you do?

No person is to be prevented from the right of investigating and comparing with the Bible what is said. Who would desire to prohibit the people from a full and free examination of what is said? Certainly it would not be God who tells us to judge in the Word. The guideline of testing and judging stresses the importance of truth being accepted and error being rejected. It gives accountability for what one says as a teacher to many people, this reduces the margin of error spread to the people.

Believers are not to avoid judging, just avoid judging with a final condemnation (the eternal destiny of someone). This word judge (Greek-krino) is used over 80 times in the New Testament and it means to call in question, discern, conclude, decree, and determine. The meaning does not mean to condemn in judgment; the context shows we are responsible to correctly evaluate a thing or an act. It does not mean to glean the truth and ignore the false because their good outweighs the bad. We cannot always judge someone’s motives, only God has this kind ability. We are commanded to judge what they spoke, their teachings. God is the ultimate judge on eternal life but we the church are to be keepers of the truth, to do this one must test what is said and reject falsehood.

Heb. 5:12-14 “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

The author tells us that believers who are “mature,” are those who have trained themselves to exercise judgment, to discern between good and evil through the Word, not by feelings. That is judging; those who do not judge are babes in the word. One of the ways to show you are spiritually mature is to seek out a matter on its own without being persuaded by public opinions or the status of a person. People today often trust a person’s position or fame more than the Holy Spirits discernment given in the Word. Error can only be seen as error only when it is measured against the truth. This means judging. If you accept anything everyone says because of who they are you are just a sponge that will soak up both the good and the bad equally. Then the only way we can get rid of the bad is for God to wring it out of you. That is not always a pleasant experience.

When we ignore the false we are helping the devil’s cause because the truth becomes hidden. The Devil hates the truth because it exposes anything that is false: sometimes it is well hidden. Jesus warned us that false prophets and false disciples would arise and He told us how to know the difference. When somebody says that you are judging, they are wrong, we are inspecting the fruit that comes from the tree and we are told to do so. When we decide what someone is teaching is wrong by the Word that is not our judgment but God’s. But if we decide simply by loyalty and allegiance this does not prove it is true and it becomes what Jesus called judging by appearance.

Attacks without a biblical case– without the facts proves that one is relying on their feelings and having blind loyalty. One needs to make a case from the Bible or they become guilty of the very thing they accuse others of. Proverbs tells us to hear both sides of a matter before we make a decision.

When sheep follow sheep instead of the shepherd they will reap the consequences. It’s well known that sheep are some of the dumbest animals on God’s green earth, you and I both are not as smart as we think we are. Peter quotes Isa.53 “For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls (1 Pet. 2:25). Matt. 9:36 “But when he (Jesus) saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” There are some Christians that confess Jesus as their Lord but instead of him being their shepherd they allow other men to lead them, they listen to their voice telling them what God has said. Certainly God has appointed teachers in the body of Christ, but no one is above scrutiny. Jesus said “But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:26-27). We see this in cults where what the leader of the group says becomes more important than what the Scriptures say. People listen to other men’s interpretation and what “they say God said” without ever going to Scripture to see if it is true. Lets make sure we are listening to the shepherds voice and not another’s.

What we are not to judge?
These are just a few things to think about. Col 2:16 “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths.”

We are to avoid judgment on days of worship and food lest we stumble someone. Rom 14:10-15 “But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way. I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died.” The point Paul is making is not to stumble a brother or sister by your freedom from the Old Testament law. But to allow false teaching to freely take place would be to stumble them.

Conclusion
Why do I call this movement of “do not judge” a cult? Because for the most part they follow there leaders advice and not the shepherd of their souls. They are not thinking, as the Bible tells us “to test ALL things.” Many are not being taught to think, instead they have been taught what to think. I know this may be harsh to some, but its telling it straight. When we willfully do what we are told, without our checking it out ourselves, we become like the cults. Those who do not judge teaching are actually disobeying what the Bible tells us to do. And they are telling others to do the same, sometimes by intimidation.

The early church was apologetic and polemic. They contended for the faith to those outside and had to do the same inside. If we do not take up this same attitude that is clearly presented in the Scriptures, we will be leavened beyond belief. Many of us see this as a very dangerous trend going on inside the Church. It needs to stop and we need to get back to what the Bible actually says.

2 John 10-11: “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed. For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” It may not say the word judge or test but its obvious one must do so to know there is a difference in doctrine. And it is in this “spirit of the text” many other Scriptures are written. Paul writes to Titus about the insubordinate, idle talkers and deceivers “Wherefore rebuke them sharply that they may be sound in the faith” (Titus 1:13).

Jesus commended those who judged to arrive at the truth, “I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false” (Revelation 2:2). All the apostles approved judging those who claimed leadership positions.

Paul wrote Timothy who was new to the ministry “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry” (2 Tim. 4:1-5).

What afflictions is he talking about? Those who came against Timothy in doing things that are required of God. What things? Convincing, rebuking, and exhorting those who have turned from the truth, God’s word.. If you are one who has learned to discern truth from error, continue to do so, don’t be intimidated. If you have been called to be a watchman and God has given you discernment, use it and don’t let anyone discourage or threaten you, fulfill your ministry.

Did The Communist Atheist Stanley Levison Write Part Of Martin Luther King’s I Have A Dream Speech?

Posted by Job on July 3, 2007

Note: this is not just something out of the blue. It is in response to a devotional that I received from a ministry that I really respect: borntowin.net, based on Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech that discussed the Christian aspects of it. Now Born To Win is not a superficial televangelism outfit, but a teaching ministry that deals with a lot of heavy Christian topics. So I felt that if a ministry like THIS is going around promoting the notion that King was positive for Christianity, then it such a notion is taking hold in fundamentalist religious Christianity as opposed to merely popular, cultural, or political Christianity, and therefore this issue needs to be examined.

It is known that King employed Stanley Levison as a speechwriter.  If Levison did write part of the speech (which the link http://www.school-for-champions.com/speeches/king_dream.htm acknowledges as possible), then what should Christians make of the speech? And what does the fact that a Christian minister like King sought the ideas of atheist communists like Levison and jainists (an Indian religious tradition) like Mohandas “Mahatma” Ghandi (whose personal religious beliefs were reputed to be agnostic; Ghandi was said to have borrowed from various religious traditions, including Christianity, to create his political philosophy) make fundamentalist think about King? At the very least, we have to consider that this MAY be why the religious left (as well as the secular left and the “we hate Christianity” left) loves King so much.

Oh yes, and this Stanford’s King Encyclopedia Entry On Stanley link speaks of how much Levison was involved in the SCLC despite the SCLC’s proclamations that their laws prevented communists from “officially” joining.  This link says that he was involved in ALL their activities: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Levison

I propose that Martin Luther King’s main legacies are 1) mixing Christianity with jainism (syncretism … and we can go ahead and include mixing Christianity with atheist communism as well while we are at it) and 2) the notion that Christianity supports political subversion through nonviolent civil disobedience. Now claiming that 1) is ok is a nonstarter: what part of “thou shalt have no other gods besides me” do you not understand? But I am open to any counterarguments that claim that nonviolent civil disobedience was given to us by God under either covenant. (Please do not accuse me of opposing or being motivated by an opposition to the aims of Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement. Yes, I know that many of the aims of King and the civil rights movement were biblical. Some were not by the way … for instance King and abortionist Margaret Sanger of Planned Parenthood were great friends … when you consider that she also got along great with Hitler, amazing company Sanger kept, isn’t it? This is all about King’s METHODS, which included syncretism and political subversive tactics.) In light of that (and in light of the fact that it is reasonable to conclude that the very reason why I as a black man have the right to have a weblog to express these views in the first place is because of the success of the civil rights movement), what should Bible - believing Christians think of King and his legacy? I solicit and welcome all comments.

Stalin and Hitler: Both Statists (Lessons from the Holocaust)

Posted by Job on June 13, 2007

While not technically from a Christian perspective, I will use this link, because it supports the position of Heal The Land that the state is an enemy of God (along with false religion). After all, who was it that crucified Jesus Christ? Now you must consider the fact that the reason why certain “Christians” later blamed all Jews (rather than a collaboration between the state and a corrupt religious system based on works, rituals, and rules standing in the base of a true spiritual relationship with God) is because, well, these “Christians” would have been blaming themselves. In many of these nations, there was no separation between church and state, so you had all of these “state churches.” Of course, “state churches” tend to institute religion by ritual and oppose true worship of God, exhibited by this notion that all you have to do in order to go to heaven is A) perform some baptism ritual (and even that was “sprinkling in the name of Jesus only” instead of full immersion in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit), even to infants and B) paying your taxes – excuse me, tithes. So, realize how the “state church” system (which included the Mormonesque pagan religion of the Romans that worshipped Caesar and others as gods) that killed Jesus Christ so easily turned into a “state church” system in Europe that persecuted Jews for centuries and morphed into STATISM, meaning fascism and communism, that killed at least 6 million Jews in the Holocaust and millions more elsewhere. So please read Stalin and Hitler: Both Statists (Lessons from the Holocaust), and if you have not accepted a true relationship of Jesus Christ, please read and follow The Three Step Salvation Plan.

One Thing That The Hollywood Liberals Are Right About: Fascism

Posted by Job on March 4, 2007

Not long ago – less than a couple of years ago in fact – when I was living my prior existence as a far right wing ultraconservative hyperpartisan Republican, one of the things that so irritated me about the left – liberal types in Hollywood, academia, media, etc. was their attempts to – in my opinion – plunge the nation into fearmongering over fascism. This coincided with the election of George W. Bush, of course, and everything that Bush and his supporters purported to stand for – from capitalism to entitlement cuts to deregulation to (of course) Christianity – represented some pillar of the fascist regime that Bush and company were going to bring in. It was trotted out in virtually every oped column, scholarly paper, talk show, political speech, etc. and got so pervasive that even kids’ cartoons began to indulge in ”fascism” fearmongering. Of course, what the left was doing was trying to recreate the same type of “McCarthyism” and “red scare” anticommunist environment that they believe that the right cooked up to wrest power from the Roosevelt – Truman – Kennedy Democrats. The left to this day feels that communism was never a threat – and indeed had a great many positive points – and that the right knew it, and pretended otherwise to A) scare and divide the electorate in order to steal political power that rightfully belonged to the left that the right would have never gained by legitimate means and B) to “discredit” and prevent the universal adoption of “communism’s good parts.” So, they felt it very appropriate to do the same regarding “the Christian right” that Bush supposedly represents (but as I conjecture REALLY does not), especially since unlike the peace – loving harmless communists, the Christian right IS a threat! So I regret to admit that my zeal to defend right wing GOP conservative causes and candidates at the time caused me to hatefully resent their “fascism bashing”, all of their bleating and scaremongering about “coming fascism”, etc. and ultimately became, well, SOFT ON FASCISM!

Now that I have abandoned GOP religious right politics and my eyes have cleared as a result, I must admit something: the liberals were right! After a fashion only and not in the way that they believe, of course, but they were right: fascism is coming. Whose fascism? Why the beast’s (or the anti – Christ’s!) of course! Again, turn your Bible to the book of Revelation and read its description of the reign of the beast and the false prophet, and remember that this evil person’s reign was mentioned in the book of Daniel as well. Allow your analytical mind to show you how the picture of how the prophetic apocalyptic language description of the reign of the beast on earth given in Daniel and Revelation would be implemented in practical terms in the real world, and you would quickly come to the realization that the beast’s regime IS INDEED FASCISTIC. It will be A) extremely imperialistic, B) built on authoritarian control enforced by brutal violence and the threat and fear of such violence, C) the beast will have not only total military and political control but ECONOMIC control as well (i.e. you will not be able to buy or sell without “the mark”) and D) the unifying force will be A STATE RELIGION (the false prophet will cause everyone to worship the beast and the image of the beast).

This is even better: study Nazi Germany! No, not the version given in Hollywood movies and the leftist “history books” that teach you that Hitler and his regime were just “religious right” types who hated Jews, homosexuals, immigrants, minorities, and (of course) communists. (And do not buy the “Hitler was a liberal” right wing revisionism that I myself used to peddle either; the truth is both the left and the right, both Republicans and Democrats, hold views that were espoused by Hitler. As a matter of fact, these “Left Behind” folks like Tim LaHaye who portray the anti – Christ as some liberal UN or EU type because the UN and the EU are their opponents in worldly politics is doing a great disservice … in fact it furthers the anti – Christ agenda. Do these people honestly think that if you are a right – wing conservative Republican you will be less likely to follow the anti – Christ and more likely to be taken in the rapture? Well, let me just say that Satan is more than pleased with that type of worldly self – righteousness where people believe that they are justified by their views, culture, and lifestyle rather than by grace and faith. Believe me, the right wingers will be eating out of the beast’s hand – and taking his mark on their own hand or forehead – just as will be the left wingers, Marxists, libertarians, anarchists, etc.) Just as the destruction of the first temple by Nebuchadnezzar was a foreshadowing of the destruction of the second temple and the end of the Jewish Age in 70 AD, and the desecration of the second temple by Antiochus Epiphanes in 168 BC was a foreshadowing of the desecration of the third temple that the beast will do (and as stated earlier, some Jews have begun speaking of restarting the animal sacrifices that the beast will halt), I am convinced that Nazi Germany was a foreshadowing of the reign of the beast.

And yes, Nazi Germany did have a STRONG RELIGIOUS ELEMENT. This fact is currently obscured by the dishonest political debates of the day, with the left calling Hitler a Christian, hoping to thereby discredit Bible – believing Christians and drive them from politics and the public square. Rather than fighting their lies by standing for the truth, the “religious right” responds in kind, after a wordly manner, by claiming that because Hitler supported abortion, evolution, social programs, gun control, government ownership/control of private property and enterprise, wage and price controls, and unions that he and Democrats – especially the Clintons! - are one and the same. Instead, we have to talk about WHAT HITLER REALLY DID WITH RELIGION IN HIS EMPIRE: a very strong element of the Nazi regime was HITLER CREATING A PERVERTED FORM OF CHRISTIANITY THAT REPLACED THE WORSHIP OF GOD WITH THE WORSHIP OF THE STATE AND OF “THE HUMAN IDEAL OR THE SUPERIOR/PERFECT HUMAN” AND HAVING GERMANY ADOPT IT AS ITS STATE RELIGION! (Now even though this weblog does not shy away with the many problems regarding Roman Catholicism and Orthodox Christian Church, we are not among those who call the Catholic Church “the beast”, especially since the ones most famous for going around proclaiming that are the very same Seventh Day Adventists who claim that Jesus Christ and the archangel Michael are one and the same because they have to defend Ellen White’s “special revelations”, although it is curious to note that Catholic dogma itself) teaches that the beast will be an invalidly elected pope.) And part of parcel of Hitler doing so was conducting a reign of terror against the legitimate churches of the time – and rumor has it that there were not that many, and such was part of the problem that facilitated Hitler’s rise, and by the way such is the same climate today! – by having pastors who opposed Hitler’s idolatry imprisoned or murdered, their congregants terrorized, and churches burned. One fascinating – and terrifying – part of Hitler’s program was compelling churches to replace images of Yeshua HaMashiach and the saints with those of “gods” from Nordic mythology (and other things that represented Hitler’s notion of idealized humanity) and HAVING PATRIOTIC SONGS SUNG IN CHURCH in place of hymns honoring God. Again, I should point out that the state of Christianity in Germany at the time was in such a state of disrepair with a great many people practicing religion through traditions, rituals, and doctrines rather than actually attempting to honor or know God that (save the few instances where resistance was attempted) the changes went virtually unnoticed; people could not tell that the icons that they were praying to had been changed from Christ, “Virgin” Mary, the angels, and the saints to Thor, Odin, and whoever, and did not mind much the hymnal and liturgical changes. Yet, the spiritual consequences of this behavior plunged the whole nation into a state of darkness that made all of the Nazi crimes, including the Holocaust, happen.

Again, lots of professed Protestant Christians have tried to use Hitler’s crimes to indict Roman Catholicism, but in doing so they conveniently forget that the largest percentage of German Christians were actually LUTHERAN; that indeed Lutheranism and not Catholicism was the prior state or “official” (meaning tax – supported) form of Christianity. This is fitting, because Martin Luther himself was German, and the REFORMATION BEGAN IN GERMANY! So, instead of pointing the finger at one group of Christians that abandons the Bible and blaming the coming fascism of the beast and false prophet on THEM, instead what needs to be done is to hold up a MIRROR, and thereby examine our own beliefs and lifestyles that fail to conform to the teachings and example of Christ. How many churches have become social clubs, welfare centers, and political action committees? How many churches have abandoned the gospel of grace and mercy and redemption for legalism and works; the “holiness or hell” nonsense that was originated by the anti – Trinitarian Pentecostals but is now popular throughout Christendom because it encourages people to put their trust in works and outward signs rather than in faith (“whew, I spoke in tongues last night, so that means that I am really saved!”). What about the social gospel, the empowerment gospel, liberation theology, the prosperity gospel, and all of these other doctrines that teach men to seek and store up their treasure on earth rather than in Heaven? And what about this “purpose driven your best life now seeker power of positive thinking megachurch” religion that is nothing more than a New Age self – help motivational speaking movement with Christian windowdressing? (These folks are actually inviting the leading “self – help gurus” to come participate in their conferences and address their congregations.) What about the “many paths to heaven” universalism that has gripped most of our mainline denominations (and that speaks nothing of the ones who have up and decided that the Bible is just a bunch of stories and metaphors). And what about all of these “prosperity Word of Faith” people with their special revelations, claiming that Jesus Christ was made perfect when He received the Holy Spirit, or that He was born again in hell AFTER He died on the cross (if so, how did He resist Satan’s temptation during His fast? with the power of His own sinful flesh? And if His flesh was sinful BEFORE He went to the cross, what did His death on the cross accomplish that the death of Barabbas would not have? And since He was born not of Adam but of God, then does not that make God the original sinner who Himself is evil and depraved and needs a Saviour? See how this stuff negates the Bible?) So, you can just imagine how a charismatic (after the original sense, not the Christian, Holy Spirit sense) leader could get all of these church folk to worship HIM in place of God. How? Because they aren’t worshipping God NOW, that’s how. And as for all of the other religions: well they aren’t worshipping God either, remember? Either you worship God through Yeshua HaMashiach exclusively or you worship Satan every way else. There is no middle ground!

The Bible says: “where there are two or three gathered together in My Name there am I also in the midst of them.” Well, the converse of this statement is: “whenever a group of people get together around a common purpose whose goal is anything else BUT worshipping God only, then Satan just walks right in and takes over.” That was the lesson of the tower of Babel, that was the lesson in Nazi Germany, and that is what will come to fruition once again during the reign of the beast and the false prophet. The only question in my mind that remains: which side are you on? Let me give you a hint: if you are unsure, then you are on Satan’s side! I urgently entreat you to get on the right side: the winning team, which is God’s, right now! And if you already are on the right side, to start respresenting God in every facet of your life.  technorati tag:

Here It Comes: The First Law To LEGALLY ENCODE CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION IN AMERICA

Posted by Job on February 11, 2007

This folks, is just the beginning. If you have not gotten serious about making Jesus Christ Lord of your life, do so now by saying, believing, and living this prayer and statement of faith. If you have not yet become an evangelist of the gospel, please start! Time is indeed getting short. I am not saying that Jesus Christ is coming back in the next 5 minutes or anything, but this nation and this world is going to soon become much more hostile to Christianity. Of what am I speaking? The proposed law to make spanking a crime in California. Do not delude yourself: some version of it is going to pass, and Gov. Schwarzennegar, who has already publicly stated that he does not spank his own his, will sign it, just as he signed a bill that will force virtually all Christian colleges in California to either hire homosexuals and adopt a homosexual propaganda curriculum or close last year.

The “Christian right”, feckless as always, is merely opposing this on the grounds of “moral values.” Please. What they are not saying is that this represents the first attempt of a major governmental entity in this nation to make something that the Christian religion SPECIFICALLY REQUIRES illegal. So yes, this law will make being a Christian parent OFFICIALLY ILLEGAL in California. But wait … it does not stop there! Then it will become “out of the mainstream” to be members of “organizations that oppose civil rights and protecting the defenseless.” Which means – you guessed it – CHURCHES! Not the liberal ones, of course. Oh sure, they will raise mild protest at first, but pretty soon they will follow the crowd, the fashionable cutting edge avant garde worldly types who run our government, schools,  media, entertainment, foundations, etc. and in short order will be leading the charge against Bible – believing Christians in this area just like they do everywhere else, including their campaign to force Wal – Mart (of whom I am not a fan) to stop selling “Left Behind” video games. Even if you do not believe in the rapture theology, you have to admit that the forces of Satan have to be mighty certain of their power in order to even ATTEMPT to drive the beliefs of tens of millions of Christians out of the free market. Note that I did not say the GOVERNMENT, but THE FREE MARKET. Of course, they go after something CHRISTIAN, as opposed to trying to do something about, say, hard core pornography. Regarding hard core pornography, they will say that it is protected by the First Amendment, so though they may hate it, they will not oppose it lest the example that it sets is later used to repress speech in other areas. But CHRISTIANITY? Of course there are NO FREE SPEECH PROTECTIONS FOR THAT!

But the larger point is that if the government is able to get away with violating the religious beliefs of people in their own homes with their own children and throwing anyone who dissents in jail, it will be very easy to start putting preachers and parishioners in jail for having certain beliefs. It will begin by claiming that teachings against homosexuality is wrong because it causes discrimination and hate crimes, move on to abortion on similar grounds, and then it will be illegal to teach that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven because adhering to such views makes living in a pluralistic society impossible. Of course, having books around that teach such things will be highly problematic, so they will have to be be burned; it will be illegal to possess one. They will say, “Oh, the BIBLE isn’t illegal, just the ones that were INCORRECTLY TRANSLATED will be!” Since virtually all of the new translations deny the divinity and Lordship of Christ, the authority of God and His Word, and the exclusivity of Christianity, it will not be difficult. Oh, and we cannot forget about anti – Semitism! It is officially ILLEGAL to be a Holocaust denier in many nations (some of them also outlaw spanking!); and Jewish groups are already putting pressure on Bible publishers to alter them to “historically and contextually correct translations” to remove anti – Semitism. Of course, Mel Gibson’s “The Passion Of The Christ” movie (which was highly problematic and I do not endorse) was just the beginning of the coming attempts to make traditional Christianity unacceptable in the mainstream. Christians, of course, are not fighting it much; they talk more and more about “values” and less and less about salvation through Christ or going to hell every day, not just in movies or even in the “Christian entertainment” (which often is even less “Christian” than it is “entertaining” … how often do these “Christian movies” even mention Christ, let alone receiving and living for Him?), but on Sunday. And I am not talking about the “liberal” churches, but even the “Bible believing fundamentalist” ones! They are making it very easy for liberal, secular, and atheist Jewish groups like the Anti – Defamation League to bring us to the day where the Bible will be banned as the book that caused the Holocaust.

Soon, it will be illegal to preach or practice Christianity in America because it will be viewed as oppressive, divisive, violent, etc. And the best part is that we will have NO DEFENSE! Now please relate this spanking bill to the gay rights movement. The gay rights movement tried to force homosexuality on the Boy Scouts, a CHRISTIAN group, by claiming that it was a place of public accommodation, which was the Trojan horse created by the civil rights movement that has been used to declare war on Christianity. Had that succeeded, churches would have been declared places of public accommodation, and thereby subject to the same regulations as everything else. But NOW, this anti – spanking bill takes it to the next level. They no longer have to worry about taking God out of public places. This bill will MAKE CHRISTIANITY ILLEGAL IN THE HOME! Once they do this, it will be no big deal to make it illegal everywhere else. Within 10 years, being a true Christian will have a real cost in America just as it does in the Muslim and communist nations. Are you ready?

And do not kid yourself: this bill will pass. Why? Because these folks know there will be no repercussions. California is thoroughly in control by left - liberal Democrats, and they fear no opposition, especially when the opposition is Schwarzennegar, a Republican who supports 90% of what they do. And pretty soon we will have a Republican President, either John McCain or Rudy Giuliani, who will support 90% of what the Democrats do as well! Remember, that notorious left – liberal California federal circuit court is PACKED with Nixon and Ford appointees, and it was Nixon and Bush who gave us two of the four most liberal members. So it is coming! Get ready …
