Is God Cursing The US Economy As Judgment On America’s Wickedness?

My note regarding Bill Keller’s devotional below: There was a time when I would have replied “YES!” But if this is the case then was the Great Depression the judgment of God? If so, for what sin on this nation’s part? Did Haiti, Africa, eastern Europe, etc. anger God? If so, how? And then you have the fact that communist China is having an economic boom. The socialist EU is lifting eastern Europe out of poverty. Venezuela, Russia, and several Middle Eastern nations are experiencing great prosperity by virtue of the $120 a barrel oil prices. Does communism, socialism, Islam, and the persecution of Christians that goes on in many of these nations please God, and are they receiving God’s blessings based on it? That is why we Christians have to be very careful when dealing with these types of things. The irony is that Keller himself has presented that message in the past when he stated that he doubted that Hurricane Katrina was God’s judgment against the city of New Orleans.

How God could use the economy as an instrument of His judgment on the United
States.  God’s judgment can come in many forms.  Most people think of God’s
judgment as what we read about in the Book of Revelation when His wrath is
poured out on the world in the final days through devastating natural
disasters that will affect huge percentages of the world’s population.  We
also think of how God judged the children of Israel in the Old Testament
when He allowed their enemies to take their land and enslave them.

However today, I want to take a look at another form of God’s judgment that
is also in the Bible, but one that most people never really think about, and
that is the economy.  I personally feel that using the economy is not only
the most likely form of God’s judgment on this nation, but would be easily
the most devastating since it will affect the lives of each person in some
way.

The first issue to discuss is why would we even be talking about God’s
judgment on the United States?  My friend, you don’t need to be much of a
Bible scholar to know that this nation is not only due God’s judgment, it is
OVERDUE God’s judgment.  In the Book of Deuteronomy the Bible warns,” If you
ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down
to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed.”

As I have told you many times, the promises in God’s Word are true but so
are the warnings.  This nation was founded on the Word of God and the hope
of Jesus Christ.  God blessed this nation abundantly, but over the past 232
years we have squandered those blessings and now live in complete rebellion
to God and His Word.  Just the fact we have abandoned God and have turned to
the false gods and idols of this world, is enough for God to pronounce His
judgment on this nation!

Sadly, in addition to worshipping the false gods of the world, we are living
in utter rebellion to the Truth of God’s Word.  Sexual sin is rampant.  Men
treat other men in the most inhumane ways imaginable.  People worldwide turn
to drugs and alcohol for strength.  Human life that can only come from God
is no longer respected or valued.  The greatest example of that is the fact
that we legally slaughter over 4,000 innocent babies in this nation every 24
hours.  That fact alone demands God’s judgment on our nation!

As you read through the Old Testament, we see the children of Israel turn
from God to the false gods of the world.  We see them living in rebellion to
God in every way imaginable.  At some point, God says enough is enough and
pours out His wrath and judgment on Israel.  That judgment came in many
forms, but usually it was allowing the enemies of Israel to take their land
and the children of Israel into captivity.  Sadly, it was only AFTER the
judgment of God fell that the people would repent and turn back to the God
of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

PLEASE HEAR ME CLEARLY.  IF GOD SPARED NOT HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE FROM HIS
JUDGMENT, WHY WOULD ANYONE EXPECT THAT HE WILL SPARE THIS WICKED AND
APOSTATE NATION HIS JUDGMENT???

My personal belief is that God’s judgment on this nation will come through
the economy.  I remember distinctly back in he mid 80s when I was running
from God and very heavily involved in trading some stocks, but mostly
commodities and futures, how precarious the whole economic system really
was.  Now you have to remember, this was back in the mid 80s when the United
States was clearly the dominate economic power in the world and the US
dollar was the gold standard all currency was judged by.

Fast forward just 20 years later and the world’s economic landscape has
dramatically changed.  China is clearly the dominate financial power today,
the booming economies of the UK, Japan, and the United States have been
replaced by India and many Middle Eastern nations, and the floundering US
dollar is no longer the monetary standard the world looks to.  The weak
dollar, sagging US economy, and what is now clearly a global economy in
2008, has all made the possibility of God using the economy to judge this
nation even more likely.

This is not complicated to understand.  I know economics can be
intimidating, but this is actually very simple.  Anyone who drives
understands the pressure of gas at nearly $4 a gallon.  With China, India,
and other nations using so much of the world’s energy resources, it wouldn’t
be a stretch to see gas at $10 a gallon.  With the population of the world
growing at the current rate, most people have no idea how precarious the
food supply is becoming.  We walk through our grocery stores with shelves
stocked full of food, but it wouldn’t take much for you to see many of those
shelves empty.

The US financial markets have always been more tenuous than most people
understand.  For the most part, they are one big ponzi scheme, lots of hype
with very little of substance to back-up any of the numbers you see.  We
have already seen the effects of this with the Internet bubble bursting in
2000, the failure of Enron and WorldCom, and the current nightmare the
housing market is going through.  If foreign money ever pulled out of the US
markets, it would cause stocks to tank, sending a ripple effect that would
be felt thought the brokerage and banking industries as hundreds of
trillions of dollars could be wiped out in days.

The point I am trying to make today is that it would not take much, a few
tweaks here and there for our economy to unwind and this nation to
experience a time far worse than even the great depression of the 1920s.
God would not have to do much to use the economy as a form of His judgment
on this nation and it would affect every man, woman, and child alive.  Most
people would be reduced to living like some people in other parts of the
world, simply living from day to day trying to acquire the basic needs of
life to survive.

I love you and care about you so much.  I am not trying to scare you today,
but to prepare you.  Prepare you that life as we know it at this moment
could change very easily and very suddenly.  Now is the time to get serious
about your faith and become bold in sharing that faith with others.  I know
God’s judgment is coming, I know we are living in the last days, and I know
Jesus is coming at any moment.  That is why I have worked so tirelessly,
especially these past 9 years since Liveprayer began, since I know that God
has raised up this ministry for this moment in human history.

A great revival is about to be unleashed on this nation and the world.  It
won’t be a revival of people chasing miracles, but a revival of souls as the
lost come to repentance and turn to Jesus.  They won’t need signs and
wonders to excite them, they will already be moved as they see the world
around them crumbling and realize that they need something bigger than
themselves to hold on to.  There will always be those with the hard hearts
who will curse God with their last breath, but hundreds of millions of souls
will bow their knee and confess Christ as their Lord and Savior by faith!

Never fear.  If you are child of God, no matter what form God’s wrath and
judgment on this nation takes, we have nothing to worry about since our
citizenship is not of this world.  We have a Heavenly home awaiting us.  Our
only job during these few years is to do all we can to bring as many people
to Heaven with us.  This is the time, now is the moment, our opportunity to
make our lives count for Christ is at hand.  May we be found faithful as we
take our stand for Him in these last days.

Also, I know from our daily emails for prayer that many people have already
been feeling the effects from the economic slowdown we are experiencing.
Many have been hurt by the problems in the housing sector.  Many hurt by the
increased cost of gasoline.  Many simply struggling to meet their monthly
needs.  Please know that I will be praying for you today and for the Lord to
not only meet your every need, but bless your finances and give you FAVOR as
you are faithful and obedient in that area of your life.  Amen!

Evangelicalism: Marketing Salvation Like Cell Phones

In our narcissistic, “What’s in it for me?” culture, we have learned how to
market salvation to the masses like we do cell phones, cars, and hamburgers.
In our zeal to win people for Christ, we have been very careful to focus on
the benefits of salvation, making sure people understood all the reasons why
this is a good choice, while being too afraid to tell them the WHOLE plan of
salvation. We sell salvation just like the late-night infomercials sell
weight-loss pills, whipping people into an emotional frenzy by hyping all
the benefits of getting saved, but never explaining to them the FULL COST of
getting saved. The “fine print” in the salvation message is not what we get
but what we GIVE!

I am saddened when I hear people share the Gospel, giving people an
invitation to know Christ, but never really explain what a person is
actually doing. Please don’t misunderstand me, I am grateful for everyone
who shares the Gospel, gives people the opportunity to come to know Christ
as their Savior, but my point today is that we MUST tell them the complete
truth about what they are doing. When a person makes the decision to accept
Christ into their heart and life by faith, they are surrendering their life
to Him. It is called giving your heart and life to Jesus because that is
exactly what you are doing. From that moment on, your life no longer belongs
to you, it belongs to Jesus. That is the critical part of the salvation
message so many fail to tell people.

We are quick to point out that if you accept Jesus you will have the
assurance of everlasting life with God your Creator. That is true. It is our
faith in Christ, the One who died for our sins that allows us to be
reconciled with a Holy God and know that when our brief journey through life
is over we will be with Him for all eternity. We also make sure people
understand the tremendous benefits of being saved. At that moment, the Holy
Sprit indwells a Believer to supply them with the power of Almighty God. By
accepting Christ as your Savior you have peace and joy in your life that is
impossible to know otherwise. You come to realize that your life has meaning
and purpose and experience the abundance of this life that Jesus promised.
All of these things are true and need to be pointed out.

It is easy to see why people would want to be saved. Most people on the
planet can accept that there is a Supreme Being or God out there. It is not
hard for anyone who is honest to admit they have sinned, so asking for your
sins to be forgiven makes sense. Even the heathen with the hardest heart
will admit that one day he will die. Everyone knows that is a day each one
of us will face. So, accepting Jesus by faith to have the assurance that
when this life is over you will go to Heaven and not Hell is a logical
choice to make. To also have the Holy Spirit living within you, know a
special peace and joy, have a purpose in life and experience its abundance,
all makes the decision to accept Christ very attractive and really something
only a foolish person would turn down.

So people make that eternal choice to accept Jesus by faith and nothing
really changes. They wake up the next morning in the same bed, the same
house. They have the same family and friends. They go to the same school and
have the same job. They have all the same problems they did the night
before, and maybe even a few new ones. They do all the same things. Even
though the Bible proclaims that they are “Born again,” that they are a “New
creature in Christ,” that the “Old has passed away,” their real, practical,
day-to-day lives have not changed. This is why so many people who accept
Christ are truly saved, but they never grow in their new faith and many of
them see very little change in their life from BS (before being saved), to
AS (after being saved).

The reason is when they got saved, what was left out or never really
explained to them was the complete story of accepting Christ as their
Savior. The part of the salvation experience that is often left out and
never properly explained to people is the fact that when you accept Christ
into your heart and life by faith you are giving your life to Him. It is an
act of sacrifice and surrender, two words that most people want no part
of.That is why this most critical element of what it means to be saved is
never really spoken about. The bottom line is, when you get saved you are
surrendering your life to Jesus Christ. Your life no longer belongs to you,
it belongs to the Lord. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice when He literally
gave His life in payment for your sins, and when you get saved, you are
making a sacrifice of your life to Him.

This is so important since it goes to the very core of what being a
Christian, a follower of Christ, is all about. We have sacrificed,
surrendered our life to Jesus. Our life is no longer our own but now belongs
to Him. All we do, where we go, everything regarding our life is now in the
Lord’s control. When you get saved, you are literally giving Him your life.
That is why so many who know Christ live without His peace, without His joy,
without any real purpose, without the victory, because they have refused to
fully surrender their lives to Him. That is why most of the false religions
of the world are so popular. You simply accept their false teachings but you
can still live your life anyway you want to. When you become a follower of
Jesus, your very life now belongs to Him.

I love you and care about you so much. That is why even though Liveprayer
reaches a massive audience each day through the Internet and on t.v. and we
have people accepting Christ as their Savior every single day, we do our
very best to first make sure they understand that in asking Jesus into their
heart and life by faith they are literally surrendering their life to Him,
that their life now belongs to Jesus. We send them a booklet that helps
guide them in the basics of their new faith, things like reading the Bible
and praying every day. We do our best to work with local churches to get
people plugged in so they can be properly discipled and start to grow in
their new faith.

When a person is saved, there is a supernatural change that happens to them
spiritually. It is now critical for that person to understand that their
life will never be the same again, that they are different now, and to help
them begin the process of transforming their mind and day-to-day life to be
a true follower of Christ. That doesn’t happen overnight, but over time. It
is that process of sanctification, or becoming more like Christ, that begins
at the moment a person is saved and continues to their very last breath. It
is vital that each person who knows Christ is not only being discipled by
someone more mature in the faith at all times, but that they are giving of
themselves to disciple someone who is younger in the faith at all times. We
can only grow in our faith as we are helped along by those who are more
mature, and we have that same responsibility to help those who are younger
in the faith grow in their relationship with the Lord.

I will be praying for you today. Praying that as you share the Gospel with
people like our Lord has commanded all of His children to do, that you will
clearly highlight the benefits of being saved, but not leave out the fact
that being saved also includes surrendering our very lives to the Lord. We
are actually cheating people by NOT telling them the whole story, since our
purpose in life, the fullness of our peace and joy in knowing Christ, the
true abundance of this life, can never be fully experienced unless we have
unconditionally surrendered our life to Christ. Getting saved is not just
about what we get, but it is also about what we GIVE-our life to Jesus
Christ!

Third Grader Plot To Murder Teacher Is More Evidence That Child Evangelism Is Necessary

Why would a group of 6-9 third graders, boys and girls between the ages of 8
and 10, have handcuffs, duct tape, electrical and transparent tape, ribbons,
a crystal paperweight, and a broken steak knife? To attack their teacher!
What did this teacher do to invoke the wrath of these children? She scolded
one of the girls for standing on a chair. School officials and police in
Waycross, Georgia, which is located just north of Jacksonville, Florida,
were tipped off Friday to this plot by the children to attack their teacher.
All of the students involved have been suspended, with two girls, ten and
nine-years-old, along with an eight-year-old boy, facing multiple juvenile
charges of conspiracy, possession, aggravated assault, all in the third
grade.

Waycross Police Chief Tanner says the students apparently planned to knock
the teacher unconscious with a crystal paperweight, bind her with the
handcuffs and tape, and then stab her with the knife. He went on to add
that the third-graders assigned themselves different tasks including
covering-up the windows so people couldn’t look in down to cleaning up
afterwards.

Of course so many questions remain unanswered at this point. Were these
children seriously going to follow through with their plan and actually
carry out this assault on their teacher that could easily have killed her?
Who are these kids? The teacher who was their target and school officials
described the children as “good kids,” and not known as trouble makers.
What types of home environments do these kids come from? More critical is
what was the thought process that went into this whole scheme? Who
initiated the plot? Why did the other children choose to go along with such
a brutal plan? It will be interesting in the coming days and weeks as these
details emerge.

I am dealing with this sad story today because it is simply another classic
example of what I have been talking about these last 9 years, and sounding
the trump of warning about frequently over the last few years. This nation
is in spiritual freefall. We are in a spiritual abyss. This story of 3rd
graders plotting to brutally attack and most likely kill their teacher is a
clear symptom of a society that is out of control. Kids see acts of
violence as a form of expression. No longer do the vast majority of people
have any sort of moral or ethical compass to guide their lives. Right and
wrong are now determined by each individual.

I have had the sad experience of seeing our society and culture literally
disintegrating over my 5 decades of life. This is NOT the same world, the
same culture, I was born into and grew up in as a child. We legally
slaughter 4,000 innocent babies EVERY 24 HOURS and nobody says a word. The
sin of homosexuality is now accepted as a mainstream lifestyle. Sex is no
longer viewed as a gif from God for a man and woman in the bonds of
marriage, but a sport to be played by anyone, of any age, at any time, with
anyone, in any way. The proliferation of porn and gambling have destroyed
any stigma they used to carry and have helped to further erode the moral and
ethical choices people make.

The daily avenue of escape most people choose are drugs and alcohol, which
further deadens a person’s ability to make wise choices. Living together
outside of marriage is considered perfectly acceptable and God’s holy
institution of marriage has been turned into little more than a legal date
by most. Most children no longer grow up in a loving, nurturing home with
their mother and father, but in every kind of unstable and unhealthy
situation you can imagine. THE BETTER PERCENTAGE OF TWO FULL GENERATIONS
HAVE NEVER EVEN BEEN TO CHURCH AND HAVE NO FAITH OR CONNECTION TO GOD!

So why are we really shocked when a bunch of third graders decide they want
to attack their teacher? If you haven’t read the Bible and the various
passages that describe the signs of the last days, we are living in them
right now. Time is very short and Jesus is coming soon. These children in
Georgia are just further evidence of that. Look at the recent news
regarding kids. Gangs of teen girls brutalizing people and involved in
serious crimes like robbery, stealing cars, dealing drugs, and even murder.
An 8-year-old who raped an elderly woman. 12-year-old girls who were
suspended for having a contest on the school bus to see how many boys they
could give oral sex to on the way to school. Those are just a few, there
are many more.

The legitimate question is where are children of this age learning this type
of behavior. First, at home. So many are growing up in Godless, faithless,
broken and blended homes where the only modeling they see by adults is
negative. Second, is the media and technology kids are exposed to and have
today. Please don’t for a second underestimate the power of television,
movies, music, advertising, video games, and the internet has on shaping the
thoughts, ideals, and values of kids today. With very little positive
influence at home, without any spiritual influence in their lives, the minds
of our kids today are being shaped by our Godless culture that promotes
every kind of sin and debauchery you can imagine. Understanding this, why
are we shocked when we see the type of behavior we see from children today?

Let me give you my personal thoughts on these kids in Waycross. When all
the details come out you will find that they are most likely from middle to
above middle income homes. 80% of the kids will be living in homes that do
NOT include their biological mom and dad. Most likely 80% don’t go to
church, though with the state of our churches today I wouldn’t be shocked if
many did attend. FOX recently had a reality program involving young
children of this age who were left on their own with no adult supervision to
create and live in their own town, and they did it. Crime shows like CSI
are blueprints for how to organize and commit crimes.

You will find the child who was the mastermind of this scheme was influenced
heavily by television, and the others were willing followers. Most all of
the kids play video games, which if nothing else, desensitizes them to
violence and cheapens the value of life. If you put all those factors
together with children who have no sense of right and wrong, and this story
is not as unbelievable as it may seem at first blush. These children are
simply a byproduct of a culture and society that is in spiritual freefall
and deteriorating right before our very eyes.

I love you and care about you so much. If stories like this don’t wake
people up to the state of our culture and the times we are living in, I
don’t know what will. I already know many will simply chalk this up as an
“isolated incident.” I wish it was. Seeing over 40,000 emails daily, we
sadly are dealing with sad stories like this that never make the headlines.
I see the results of this deteriorating culture every day in the destroyed
lives of people. I remind you often of satan’s goals, to kill, steal, and
destroy. He is having his way at this time in human history as he virtually
goes unchecked about his business of stealing people’s souls, destroying
their lives, and killing them.

This is a war for the souls of men, and sadly, satan is fighting virtually
unopposed in the culture. If the church would get as zealous about saving
souls as they are about building projects, if ministries would leave the
comfort, safety, and profitability of the Christian media and move their
message to the secular media, if publishers would write books and magazines
geared to and marketed to the lost world as opposed to other Christians, we
could see some dramatic changes in our culture overnight. But sadly, most
are more worried about the temporal pleasures of this world and money more
than souls. So they keep on fleecing the choir to preach to the choir,
while the lost and hurting masses are left to the wolves like Oprah and the
lies of satan who is serious about taking them to hell.

Pray today for these children. They are young, it is not too late for them.
They need the Lord. Pray for their parents. They need Divine guidance to
deal with their children and provide an environment that teaches the type of
scheme they were involved in is not something a person should ever consider.
Pray for this teacher, as God has protected her from what would have been a
horrible experience. Pray for the legal and school authorities as they are
led to properly punish these children for their actions.

In closing, I pray for you today. WAKE UP! This is not some isolated
incident, but this IS the world we live in today. This IS what our culture
has become. The only hope we have, the only answer there is, is for this
nation to turn back to God and Biblical values. Nothing short of a true and
sweeping spiritual revival is going to turn our nation and culture back to
the foundation of faith it was originally based on. Unless that happens, we
will be seeing these types of stories more often, and even more shocking
examples of a culture that is spiraling out of control.

On Barack Obama’s Universalism, John Edward, Homosexuality, McDonald’s And Fitna

McDonalds, John Edward, Obama, and FITNA. Today is an interesting day since
there are several different news items that I want to share with you. Each
is important since they all represent critical issues I have been dealing
with for years in the Daily Devotional. They are the mainstream acceptance
of homosexuality, those who claim to talk to the dead and people who claim
to be psychics, the lie that many think there are many roads which lead to
God, and the false religion of Islam. These news items simply reinforce
that these issues are not going away and how important it is to have a voice
in the marketplace to tell the Truth about each one.

It was recently announced that McDonalds Vice President of Communications,
Richard Ellis, has been named to the Board of the National Gay and Lesbian
Chamber of Commerce. McDonalds is listed on the website of the National Gay
and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce as a “corporate partner and organization
ally” for an undisclosed financial contribution. Ellis state, “I’m thrilled
to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce team and ready to get
to work. I share the NGLCC’s passion for business growth and development
within the LGBT community and I look forward to playing a role in moving
these important initiatives forward.”

Last week, I shared a Devotional with you that made the claim we have lost
the war to stop the sin of homosexuality from becoming accepted by the
mainstream. You don’t get any more mainstream than McDonalds, and it is
clear that the hamburger giant is more worried about having a relationship
with those who choose to engage in deviant forms of sex than with people of
faith. This stamp of approval by one of the world’s most visible
corporations, is another clear example of the fact that homosexuality is now
viewed by society as an acceptable choice. Like I have told you many times,
nobody fears the Christian community any longer since we are so fragmented
and have no unifying voice.

Our buddy John Edward is back. He is like Jason in those horror movies.
Edward has resurfaced in the strangest of places, the Home Shopping Network.
I have warned people for years about this charlatan who claims to be able to
talk to the dead. John Edward is at best a highly polished carnival act,
and at worst, operating in demonic powers. He is now on HSN, hawking 10
DVDs of his lies for $90. How sad it is to see people who are searching for
answers, looking for true hope, fall into the clutches of this con man who
leads them away from the real Truth, the Bible, and the real answer, Jesus.

My friend, the Bible condemns those who claim to be psychics, since only God
knows the future. The Bible tells us to not turn to mediums or seek out
spiritualists, or you will be defiled by them. We know that satan is an
“angel of light” and can do many deceptive things. However, the Word of God
tells us the dead no longer have any part of this life. John Edward and
those like him are NOT of God, they are enemies of God and tools of satan.
They are spiritual frauds who God speaks harshly against in the Bible. As a
matter of fact, in the OT people like Edward were commanded to be put to
death. This is how dangerous they are to others in the eyes of God.

Our friend, Senator B. Hussein Obama (for the record, it is his name, I
didn’t give it to him, his parents did), certainly didn’t even learn in 20
years of sitting in the pews at Trinity United Church of Christ what most
elementary school Sunday School students are taught. In a campaign stop
recently in Greensboro, North Carolina, Senator Obama told the audience that
he believes he “can have everlasting life” because Jesus Christ died for his
sins. But he then told a questioner that he believes Jews and Muslims who
live moral lives are just as much “children of God” as he is. He went on to
add that his late mother didn’t share his faith but was a kind and generous
person, so he’s “sure she’s in heaven.”

Sen. Obama has sadly bought into this universalistic lie from hell I warn
you about often, the dangerous lie the New Age gurus and the high priestess
of the New Age movement Oprah is telling millions, and that there are many
roads that lead to God, that faith in Jesus is NOT the only way to be saved.
I hate to break this to the Senator, but if his mother died without
accepting Jesus into her heart and life by faith, then like all who reject
Christ she is NOT in Heaven, but in the flames of hell for all eternity.
This is not a game! I try to tell people all the time that what we do each
day is literally battle satan for the souls of men. Satan wants people to
believe this lie that you can get to Heaven without Jesus, but he knows it
is a lie and that those who buy that lie will be with him in hell for all
eternity.

This is so critical since now this lie is being preached from many pulpits.
You have Christian churches now who endorse this notion that God will
understand and as long as you are a “good person” and do your best, you will
make it to Heaven. The Bible proclaims that there is NONE that is good, no
not one. It says that we have ALL sinned and fallen short of the glory of
God. God has given us His plan, His ONLY PLAN for salvation, and that is by
putting our faith in Jesus Christ, since it was Jesus who died as the
payment for our sins. There are not many roads that lead to God, only one,
faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which men are saved!

Lastly is FITNA, the movie about Islam produced by Dutch politician Geert
Wilders. I have done dozens of press interviews the past few days after the
UK video hosting company LiveLeak chose to pull the movie from their servers
due to the death threats their employees were getting. Liveprayer had a
copy and I had it on my website, on my servers, the only website in the
world that had the movie in its entirety. The press all wanted to know why
I would put such a movie on a Christian website, a movie that many claim is
anti-Muslim.

What Wilders did was excellent, in that he took the very words Muslims
follow in their teachings, and showed them following those words as they
carried out their acts of hatred and killing. These are not a few isolated
acts of terror, but how Muslims worldwide operate. It is visual proof of
what this false religion of hate and death is really all about, and that is
why they are doing everything they can to hide it from the world. It has
only been in the past few years with the advent of 24/7 cable news, advanced
satellite technology, and the Internet, that people around the world,
especially here in the United States, are being exposed to how this false
religion has operated during its 1400 year history.

Let me give you a great contrast between the false religion of Islam and the
Christian faith. People are born into or intimidated into joining the false
religion of Islam. People CHOOSE to become a follower of Christ. Islam is
about hate and death. Christianity is about love and life. People need to
wake up and understand the nature of this very real threat to not just the
Untied States, but to the entire world.

I love you and care about you so much. Today is a great reminder of a
number of issues I have been talking to you about for many years now. As
you can see, they are still pressing issues since the church has chosen to
ignore them and continues to focus mainly on preaching to the choir in the
comfort, safety, and profitability of the “Christian trough,” while the
world around us is dying and going to hell. Homosexuality is now mainstream
because the church didn’t have the guts to speak out against this sin.
Sadly, you now have many churches who instead of speaking the Truth about
this sin, have simply accepted and condoned homosexuality to be like the
rest of our fallen world.

Hurting people continue to turn to scam artists and false hope merchants
like John Edward in their time of need, because he at least acts like he
cares about them and is part of their world. High profile Christians like
B. Hussein Obama propagate the lie from hell that you don’t really need to
accept Jesus as your Savior by faith to make it to Heaven. People are
asleep or totally apathetic about the real threat Islam is to this nation
and world, and have been bullied into believing that there are simply a
handful of Muslims who perpetrate all of these violent acts of terror around
the world. The fact is, all Muslims read from the same holy book and follow
the teachings of their murdering pedophile false prophet Muhammad.

I pray today that you are stirred to take your stand in this lost world for
Christ. God has called each of His children to do their part where He has
you planted for this season. Staying silent is no longer an option, since
that is how this nation has turned from Biblical Truth to the lies of the
world and from honoring the God of the Bible to rejecting Him for the false
gods and idols of the world. May the Lord give you a spirit of boldness and
fearlessness as you declare His Truth to the lost and hurting, and tell
everyone you know that their only hope for this life and all eternity is
faith in Jesus Christ!

What does God say about racism? Like in all matters of life, when we need
the Truth, the real answers, we have to go to our final authority in all
matters, the Bible. One of the greatest weapons of satan is division. The
enemy has figured out every way imaginable to divide men. Since virtually
the beginning of the human experience, man has fallen into satan’s trap of
division based on the color of a person’s skin or their ethnic origin.
While racism has always been an issue in this country, the fact is it is an
issue in every country. This divisive mindset is not unique to the United
States. Sadly, in some form it is practiced everywhere on the planet.

Since the racially incendiary remarks by B. Hussein Obama’s pastor of 20
years, Dr. Jeremiah Wright, became such a big part of the Presidential
campaign a few weeks ago, it has sparked a national dialogue on race. A few
weeks ago Senator Obama gave a speech on race that was lauded by many.
Those who made such a big deal over his speech were most likely swayed by
the fact he was dealing so openly with a taboo subject few will talk about.
However, his speech was hollow, self serving, and nothing more than a
political move to do damage control because of his close association with
Dr. Wright.

B. Hussein Obama’s race speech did NOTHING to help people or this nation
deal with this scourge, since the victory over racism isn’t going to come
from the flowery words of a politician whose only motive and goal is to get
elected President. No my friend, if people and this nation are going to
truly get victory over racism, it has got to come from an understanding of
what God says about this issue and by people who are willing to follow what
God says in the Bible.

If Senator Obama had intended to really take a leadership role on the race
issue, educate the nation and provide real answers for how to get victory
over this inhumane way people treat others who are different than they are,
then he would have told people what God says about racism. God says MUCH
about this issue, but Senator Obama didn’t find it worth including even one
verse of Scripture.

*THIS IS WHY I TELL YOU SO OFTEN THAT IT WILL NOT BE A POLITICIAN, BUT A MAN GOD HAS CALLED TO LEAD PEOPLE IN THE WAYS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS!!!

The fact is, there is only one race, the human race! People may have white
skin, black skin, brown skin, yellow skin, red skin, or any other color
skin, they may have different ethnic backgrounds, but they are all part of
the same race, the human race! The Bible says that ALL MEN are created in
the image of God. God created all men equal. I tell you frequently that
satan is the great perverter. It is satan, not God, who seeks to divide men
by their skin color, ethnicity, financial means, and any other way you can
dream up to divide people. God created men equal to live in harmony with
one another. It is satan who introduced division into the human experience.

In God’s plan of redemption, there is no division. John 3:16 says that God
so loved the world, ALL men. It says that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES. That is a
universal call to ALL MEN regardless the color of their skin or where they
live. In 1 John 2:2, it talks about how Jesus laid down his life for
EVERYONE. Everyone means ALL MEN, the entire human race. This satanically
inspired way we have of dividing ourselves through racism, prejudice, and
discrimination all make a mockery of what Christ did on the cross. He
faithfully and obediently went to that cross to die for the sins of ALL
MANKIND.

That is why all of the black pastors I know repudiate the false black
liberation theology Dr. Jeremiah Wright has been teaching for over 3
decades. Wright is actually a student of James Cone who made this perverse
theology popular in the 60s that teaches the Bible is the basis for blacks
to be liberated from social, political, economic, and religious bondage. B.
Hussein Obama is a liar when he states he never heard the types of comments
made by Dr. Wright the media has been playing, since that is the
foundational teaching of the black liberation theology Wright has been
preaching in Chicago for over 30 years.

The fact is the Bible DOES teach liberation theology, LIBERATION FROM SIN!!!
It was not written to people with dark skin, but to all people regardless of
their skin color. We are all part of the human race, which means we are all
born with the sin of Adam, we all sin during our life, and that is why Jesus
went to the cross. He gave His very life on that cross as the payment for
the sins of all mankind, that through faith in Him men might be find freedom
from their sins. There is nothing in the Bible to support this false black
liberation theology Dr. Wright preaches, since the liberation theology of
the Bible is about the freedom from sin for ALL MEN!

You also have the Biblical example of Jesus during His earthly ministry.
Again, racism is not a new phenomena to the United States in our brief 232
year history. Forms of racism have been part of the human expedience since
the very beginning. Jesus commanded us in John 13:34 to love each other as
He loves us. He used people of other ethnic backgrounds often in His
parables. One of the most powerful is the story of the Good Samaritan. If
you remember, the Jewish religious leaders passed by the man who had been
robbed and beaten and laying on the side of the road, leaving him to die.
It was the Samaritan, the non-Jew, who honored God by stopping and
ministering to the needs of the injured man. Don’t forget, it was Jesus who
told his followers to make disciples of EVERY NATION, reaffirming the value
of all men.

I love you and care about you so much. If B. Hussein Obama had wanted to
give a real speech on racism to move hearts and lead people in this issue,
THIS is the message he should have delivered. It would have been a message
from God’s Word that laid the Biblical foundation all men are created equal
and those who seek to divide men by the color of their skin are not of God,
but of satan! It would not have been the self serving, politically crafted
words to try and help him weasel out of his 20 year association with a
pastor and church that preaches and teaches division based on the color of a
person’s skin. Dividing men by skin color, ethnicity, are the works of the
devil.

Those who truly seek to serve and follow the Lord are not looking to divide
men but unite them. A true follower of Christ understands that God created
all men equal, that we are all part of the human race. Racism, prejudice,
and discrimination are NOT of God, since we are hurting someone God created
and loves and Jesus died for! Sadly, 11 am on Sunday morning is the most
segregated hour of the week in this nation. That is truly a shame since the
one sanctuary from racism should be the church. Yet sadly, most churches
don’t lead the culture, they allow the culture to lead them. So rather than
modeling what God says about this issue, in far too many churches, they
perpetuate this ungodly attitude men have for other men who look different
than them.

They better wake up since when we die, and stand at the gates of Heaven,
there won’t be a line for whites, or a line for blacks, or a line for
Asians, or a line for Hispanics, or a line for those from the Middle East,
just like there won’t be a line for Catholics, or Baptists, or Methodists,
or Pentecostals. No my friend, when you take your last breath there will
only be two lines. One for those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ
and one for those who have rejected Christ. The Bible proclaims those who
reject Christ will be cast into the flames of hell for all eternity, and
those who know Jesus will be welcomed into their eternal home with God their
Creator in Heaven. At that moment, Galatians 3:38 will be realized, “There
is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all
one in Christ Jesus!”

Is God More Disgusted With Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, TD Jakes, Or Paula White?

Who was God more disgusted with last September, Iranian President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejads, or well known minister TD Jakes? One of the things I have
tried to do these past 9 yrs is challenge those who know the Lord to become
more bold in sharing their faith with their family, with their neighbors, at
school or work, at the gym, as well as the people God allows to cross your
path on a daily basis. I remind you often that sharing our faith is not an
option, it is a commandment. It is not something we do when we feel like it,
it is something we are instructed in the Bible to do out of love for people
who are lost and will die and go to hell without a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ.

That is why nothing infuriates me more than what happened last September as
one of the most visible men of God in the nation goes on a popular
nationally syndicated TV program and if you didn’t know who he was, would
have never guessed in a million years he was a preacher! It was like Paula
White going on the Trya Banks program and calling herself a “life coach,”
never once mentioning she is a preacher, or talking about the Bible or
saying the name of Jesus!

This past September you had that evil little man from Iran, Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad spewing his delusional philosophy of life at Columbia
University, and a few hours later you had “Bishop” TD Jakes appearing on the
Dr. Phil program to counsel people. At the end of the day there is no doubt
in my mind God was more disgusted with Jakes, a man who claims to serve God,
than He was with Ahmadinejad, a man who has clearly chosen to serve satan!

There is nothing to really to say about Ahmadinejad. He is a thoroughly evil
man who follows that false religion of hate and death, Islam. As the
President of Iran, he has openly called for the total annihilation of
Israel, has made numerous threats against the United States, is shipping
arms to Iraqi insurgents helping to kill US troops who are serving there, is
harboring Osama Bin Laden’s son and other al-Qaeda leaders, and is pursuing
the development of nuclear weapons.

He preyed upon the weakness of this nation to come to our shores and spit in
our faces by his very presence. He no doubt has accomplished his chief goal
which was to appear credible on the world stage, while filling his coffers
with propaganda to take back to Iran and continue his terrorist activities.
Please remember in a few years that this man was here, on our soil, and
instead of arresting him like the common criminal he is, we treated him like
a head of state.

As disgusted as I was with Ahmadinejad making a mockery of our nation, I was
even more disgusted with the “Bishop” TD Jakes making a mockery of our Lord!
I was excited to hear he was going to be on with Oprah’s “creation” Dr. Phil
to give people counsel. I was excited that finally a bold man of God would
go on this nationally syndicated secular program with a chief merchant of
worldly advice and give people real counsel from the Word of God while
telling them Jesus is their only hope for this life and all eternity.

Finally, a powerful spokesman for Christ to tell the nation God’s Word is
the only Truth and Jesus is the only way to be saved. By the end of the hour
it took all the will power I could muster to not take a baseball bat and
smash my television into a million pieces.

I will give you an exact quote from my email to the “Bishop” TD Jakes. “That
was the most gutless and spineless performance by a supposed Gospel minister
I have ever witnessed. You should be ashamed to call yourself a minister of
the Gospel and God will hold you accountable for the souls who will burn in
hell because you were more worried about selling books than saving souls!”

I have warned you for years about Oprah’s puppet Dr. Phil. He clams to be a
Christian, and only God can judge his heart regarding his salvation. But I
have every right and responsibility to judge his WORDS and ACTIONS in
accordance with the Bible. They are the words and actions of a man who is
lost in his few minutes of fame and the money he is making. His counsel is
not from the Bible but from the world. Instead of giving people real hope,
he simply exploits their troubled lives for ratings.

That is why I was so excited to see TD Jakes going on his program. As it
turned out, he was not there to give Biblical counsel or to tell the lost
how they can be saved, he was there to sell his new book! Just like that
cotton-candy preacher Joel Osteen who was on Larry King a few years ago and
refused all 6 of King’s attempts to get him to simply say that Jesus was the
ONLY way to be saved because he was not there to save souls, but to sell
books.

I learned later in the day Dr. Phil actually wrote the forward of Jakes’ new
book. So with the opportunity to tell millions of viewers who were no doubt
lost and hurting, looking for answers and hope, instead of the Gospel they
got a sales pitch to go to their local bookstore and buy his book!

In my disgust, I called a few people who are very connected to the Christian
TV world and I find out guess who TD Jakes’ guest will be on several of his
upcoming shows? You got it, Dr. Phil! Why? Dr. Phil also has a new book
coming out so he is trying to capitalize on his claim of being a Christian
to tap into the Christian market. So in essence what you had Monday and what
you will get when Dr. Phil appears on Jakes program, is a SCAM that has gone
on in the church for ages.

It is the pulpit exchange scam. Preacher Bob is invited to Preacher Joe’s
church to speak. He comes, preaches, and they take a big love offering for
him. A few months later, Preacher Bob invites Preacher Joe to come to his
church to speak. He comes, preaches, and they take a big love offering for
him.

Since I have blown the cover off of that long standing scam, here is another
one for you. Ever sit back amazed as you watch Christian TV and hear how God
told some minister to give the TV network $100,000, and they pull out a big
check? Did you know in the future they will receive special airings or runs
of their TV program on that network worth about, you got it, $100,000!

Ever sit back amazed as you saw one minister give another minister a jet
plane! WOW! What generosity you think! If only I had faith like that you
think! Little do you know there was already some sort of business deal
between the two for the jet plane.

This is how these high visibility preachers con people into having the
“faith” to send them tons of money. It is all part of the manipulating
process that enables these ministries to own tens of millions of dollars of
real estate, fly around in private jets, and live like the rulers of small
nations! OF COURSE THEY STILL COME BACK AND BEG YOU TO GIVE THEM MORE!!!

I love you and care about you so much. This is why I left and vowed to never
return to the Christian TV world 10 yrs ago. This is why non-Christians
NEVER watch Christian TV and have zero trust or respect for preachers. They
smell these scams from a mile away. The Bible actually says the children of
the world are more street smart than the children of light.

I have to be honest. It almost makes me want to get out of the ministry all
together at times. I have to spend more time than you will ever know in
dealing with people in the marketplace, letting them know that “I am not one
of those guys” so they will at least listen to my message.

I have had numerous people over the years “counsel” me how Liveprayer could
be a $50 million a year ministry overnight, instead of struggling to raise
the $1 million we do each year to operate. All I have to do is what everyone
else does. Leave secular TV and go to Christian TV. Forget reaching the lost
in the world on the internet and focus on reaching people who already are
Christians while using the website to sell products.

Quit wasting all of our time and resources to reach the lost and refocus our
efforts on how to cash in on the Gospel. They tell me I have spent 9 years
of laboring to build up Liveprayer, now it is time to take it easy and reap
tens of millions of dollars a year from what we have built. I quietly tell
these people to please leave before I get in the flesh and literally throw
them out of my office!

I HAVE TOO MUCH FEAR (AWE) OF GOD TO TURN LIVEPRAYER INTO MY PERSONAL
FIEFDOM. I DON’T LOOK FORWARD TO THE LAST WEEK OF EVERY MONTH WHEN I HAVE TO
PLEAD WITH PEOPLE TO HELP ME SIMPLY COVER OUR BASIC OPERATIONAL NEEDS, BUT
IT KEEPS ME HUMBLE AND NEVER LETS ME FORGET VERY LONG WHOSE MINISTRY THIS IS
AND THAT I WILL ONLY BE HERE AS LONG AS I REMAIN FAITHFUL TO MY CALLING. GOD
HAS ME ON A 30 DAY LEASH EACH MONTH SO I NEVER FORGET, EVEN FOR A DAY, WHY I
AM HERE AND WHAT HE HAS CALLED ME TO DO!!!

I had one person send me an email that said, “PASTOR KELLER, WITH ALL DUE
RESPECT, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE, TD JAKES BEING ON DR. PHIL
SHOW AND BILL KELLER BEING ON HOWARD STERN SHOW.” My answer, “The difference
is he was on there for one reason, to sell books. He never once mentioned
the name Jesus, quoted any scripture, or told people how to be saved. He was
on there to make money and for no other reason. I go on with Stern and got
nothing, except tons of grief. I have no agenda other than the opportunity
to share Christ and Biblical Truth with Stern’s listeners.

After my recent appearances on many of the top secular programs on the cable
news networks and many national radio programs, I can already tell you that
while they like my boldness to state my case about the issue I am on to
discuss, they have already figured out I am there to declare the Bible is
the only Truth and faith in Jesus is the ONLY way to be saved. I am already
being blackballed from some of these programs because they don’t want their
program being used as a pulpit by some evangelist.

My friend, I invest money each month into a professional PR firm and seize
those media opportunities for one reason and one reason only, TO HAVE A
SECULAR FORUM TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS! I HAVE NO OTHER MESSAGE BUT THE
GOSPEL! YOU HAVE NO OTHER MESSAGE FOR YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, THOSE YOU MEET
ALONG YOUR JOURNEY BUT THE GOSPEL!

My word of admonition to you today is to pray NOT to be like TD Jakes, Joel
Osteen, Paula White, or any of these other “Christian stars” who get the
opportunity to talk to a secular audience and use that opportunity to build
their kingdom and not God’s. Trust me, they WILL answer to God one day, just
like I will and you will!

Make the most of your opportunities to share the Truth of the Bible with
those you meet each day and what Jesus has done in your life. People are
dying and going to hell every second. People you know! If they choose to
reject the hope of Christ, that is their choice. Our job is not to force
anyone to believe, we can’t do that. Our job is to share with them the Good
News and pray for them!

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can
they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear
without someone preaching to them?” Romans 10:14

Is Magdi Allam The Muslim Baptized By Pope Benedict on Easter Even Saved?

Is the Muslim baptized by Pope Benedict on Easter saved? A big news item
this Easter was the “conversion” of Magdi Allam, a Muslim author and critic
of Islamic fundamentalism who was publicly baptized by the Pope on Easter
Sunday. Allam, whose wife is Catholic and described himself as a
non-practicing Muslim, is the deputy director of the Corriere della Sera, an
Italian newspaper. Allam has been very sympathetic to Israel in his
writings, and stated that his conversion would likely procure him “a death
sentence for apostasy,” or the abandoning of one’s faith. The fact he might
be killed for leaving Islam, which is called for in the Koran, makes my
question even more critical. Is Magdi Allam even saved?

This is a legitimate question since the Bible clearly states in Ephesians 2,
verses 8 and 9, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and
this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” We are saved by God’s
grace, His unmerited favor, and our faith in Jesus Christ, the only name by
which men are saved. Period! This passage goes on to clearly state that
good works won’t save you. Joining a church and sitting in the pew doesn’t
save you. The fact your mom and dad are Christians doesn’t make you saved.
BAPTISM DOESN’T SAVE YOU! The Bible teaches that baptism is an act of
identification with Christ as a public proclamation of your relationship
with Jesus AFTER you have accepted Him by faith.

The problem I have with this story is wondering whether Magdi Allam thinks
that by joining a certain church, being baptized, and taking communion,
saves his soul. Actually, I have this concern about many people who seem to
think that as long as they have joined a church they are saved. Listen to
me carefully my friend, joining a church and sitting in a pew doesn’t make
you any more saved than if you went to the zoo and stood in the lion’s den
would make you a lion! You are only saved because you have made the
conscious decision to ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, repent, turn
from your sins, and ask Christ into your heart and life by faith. You are
only saved because you have given your life by faith to Jesus!

It was Jesus who said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal
life.” The Book of Romans in Chapter 10 tells us, “That if you confess with
your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him
from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you
believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and
are saved.” No church can save you, no amount of good works can save you,
no special acts can save you, all the money in the world can’t save you, the
only way you can be saved is by putting your faith in Jesus Christ! The
church helps you to grow in your faith AFTER you are saved. Good works flow
from your life AFTER you are saved. Baptism and communion are acts of
remembrance AFTER you are saved. Giving becomes an act of worship AFTER you
are saved.

This is so critical. Let me ask you a serious question. Are you saved?
Have you consciously made the decision to ask Jesus into your heart and life
by faith? Many people have said the “sinners prayer,” but there are no
magical words to save your soul. Those words are simply a verbal guide to
what you are doing in your heart by faith. If you are reading these words
today and have never really made the conscious choice to ask Christ into
your life by faith, or if you don’t have 100% assurance that you are saved,

to ask God to open your heart, read the words, pray the prayer, and accept
today God’s gift to you of everlasting life through His son Jesus.

I love you and care about you deeply. For those of you who already know
Christ as your Savior, I would encourage you to forward this email to those
people in your life who may not know Jesus as their Savior. Some of those
people may think that just because they belong to a church they are saved.
Some of those people may think that because their parents are Christians
they are also. Some may think that because they are “good people,” and do
many good works they are saved. Sadly, with the watered down, politically
correct preaching in so many of our churches today, with most TV preachers
only preaching about how to give them more money or how to be happy and
prosperous, most people simply don’t understand that salvation is only a
prayer of faith away.

It sounds easy, and it is. It is easy because Jesus already did the hard
part. However, it is not a decision to be taken lightly since when a person
accepts the Lord, they are turning from their sins, promising to follow the
Lord, and that means His Word (that is why I wonder how someone can call
themselves a Christian, yet live in rebellion to the Word of God!), and
literally giving their life to Him. The Bible says that we have been bought
with a price, that it is no longer our life any longer. When you accept
Jesus by faith, you are giving your life to Him. It no longer belongs to
you, it belongs to Jesus. Everyone wants the benefits of being saved, but
few want to pay the price of being saved. It cost Jesus His very life so
you can be saved, and it costs you your very life to be saved!

In many parts of the world, people are literally killed for accepting
Christ. I am encouraged by the tens of thousands of Muslims in Iraq who
have come to know Jesus as their Savior in the past 5 years. It is one of
the great testimonies of our involvement in Iraq. I pray for these new
brothers and sisters daily and ask you to as well, since they all face great
persecution and even death for leaving the lies of Islam for the truth of
Christianity. Many brave soldiers of the cross are on the front lines in
the Middle East, many of them converted Muslims, taking Christ’s hope to
those still lost in the darkness of Islam.

So I pray for Magdi Allam, that he has not just joined a church and thinks
that his church membership and getting baptized saved his soul, since it did
not. I pray that he has made the conscious decision to accept Jesus into
his heart and life by faith, since the Bible proclaims there is only one
name by which men are saved, the name of JESUS!!!

(Matthew 28:5-7)

HE IS RISEN!!!!!!!! Today, marks the greatest historical event in human
history…the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The reason the resurrection of
Jesus is the greatest historical event is because it is the absolute key to
our faith. Paul said in his first letter to the church at Corinth in the
15th chapter, that if Christ did not rise from the dead, then we are still
dead in our sin and most vain of all. However, if He did rise from the dead,
then we have the assurance our sins are forgiven and of everlasting life.

You see, Jesus is either the biggest fraud in the history of mankind or He
is exactly who He claims to be…the Son of God. The resurrection is the key
event.

The historical evidence of Christ’s resurrection is irrefutable. The fact
that he died on a Roman cross, the claims of followers seeing the risen
Lord, evidence of the empty tomb, the inability of the Jewish leaders to
disprove the resurrection claims in the very city Jesus died and was buried,
and the radical transformation in the lives of His disciples are all well
documented. His disciples went from being normal men concerned only about
their own welfare from the night Jesus was arrested, to bold preachers who
were willing to die for their faith. You also have Jesus’ own predictions of
His resurrection as well as the fact that soon after was the birth of the
Christian church that started meeting on Sunday. That is significant since
these were monotheistic Jews who were used to worshipping on Saturday.

My friend, the Christian faith has never meant to be a blind leap in the
dark. God never asked His children to just believe without any evidence of
what we believe in. He has given us plenty of tangible historical evidence
to help us know without a doubt that what is in His inspired, inerrant Word
is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH. Absolute truth that you can stake your very life on.
Of course, once we get to the point we accept the resurrection as a fact,
and we accept His Word as TRUTH, it then demands that we totally and
unconditionally surrender our very life to Him.

That becomes the logical conclusion of this spiritual journey. Because you
see, it is not our life any longer, it belongs to Him. Our purpose is to
simply serve and glorify Him with our lives. I pray that on this day in
which we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, you will
recommit your life to Him. We can all do better. None of us have given it
ALL to Him…we can give Him more. Make this day the day that you realize
that Jesus rose from the dead, to insure that you will live for eternity
with Him if you have accepted Him into your heart and life by faith.

I love you and care about you so very much. I pray you have a wonderful
Resurrection Day. For those traveling to be with your family, you will be in
my prayers for a safe journey. May you be richly blessed as we stand
together to proclaim to this hurting and dying world that Jesus Christ is
the Lord of Lords, and the King of Kings….HE IS RISEN!!!

Oklahoma Politician Sally Kern Warring Against The Homosexual Agenda

“The homosexual agenda is destroying this nation, OK, it’s just a fact,”
Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern said recently to a gathering of fellow
Republicans outside the Capitol. “Studies show no society that has totally
embraced homosexuality has lasted, you know, more than a few decades. So
it’s the death knell in this country. I honestly think it’s the biggest
threat that our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam, which I
think is a big threat,” she said. AMEN! I agree with Rep. Kern 100%!

Kern, a former school teacher whose husband is a Baptist pastor, has been
lambasted for her “bigoted, hate-filled, intolerant” comments by the press
and general public, not to mention the Democratic Governor of Oklahoma as
well as lesbian talk show host and homosexual activist Ellen DeGeneres.
What have I told you for years now? If you tell the lie long enough and
loud enough, people will accept it to be the truth. Never has that been
more evident than in the relentless campaign by the homosexual community to
make their choice of deviant sexual relations acceptable and mainstream.

The war to keep the sin of homosexuality from becoming accepted and
condoned, even celebrated, has been lost! So you still think this is a
Christian nation? Over the past 40 years prayer and Bible teaching have been
taken out of the public schools, we legally slaughter over 4,000 innocent
babies a day, gambling and pornography are now socially acceptable,
profanity is no longer considered bad language, Jesus, the Bible, and the
Christian faith are openly mocked while the cults and false religions of the
world are now revered and protected, we have changed God’s definition of
what marriage and the family is, places that call themselves churches and
men and women who call themselves pastors don’t even believe the Bible and
operate in complete rebellion to God’s Word, and the sin of homosexuality is
now considered an acceptable mainstream lifestyle choice.

Hello! Christians! Think it is time we wake up???

How could all of this have happened in such a short period of time? Simple.
Men and women who God called to lead his church and people have failed to do
so. Many of them deny the inspiration, inerrancy, and Truth of the Bible and
have led people to accept and condone what God clearly calls sin. Others
have chosen to preach a gospel of motivation and prosperity that tickles the
ears of the masses and garners them huge followings of people who don’t want
to hear about sin and sacrifice, only how to be successful and rich by this
world’s standards.

I watched Joel Osteen hawk his new book that gives people 7 keys to be
successful. Funny, not one of the 7 has a thing to do with Scripture or the
real success of a person, only temporal earthly success you would hear about
in a Tony Robbins meeting. How a pastor can sit on nationwide TV for an hour
and never ONCE utter the name of Jesus is actually a pretty amazing feat.
Sadly, because of his worldly success, you now have other “pastors” who go
on national TV and call themselves “life coaches” and other names, never
once mentioning the Bible or the name of Jesus or the fact that Christ is
man’s only hope now and for all eternity.

Still others have gravitated to a social gospel, seeking to solve the
problems of this fallen world like hunger and sickness and poverty, without
ever mentioning the greatest need a person has, to have a relationship with
Jesus since that “offends” people. These are noble causes but wasn’t it
Jesus who said “the poor you will always have with you.” That doesn’t mean
we don’t reach out to the poor and the sick, but the greatest need a man has
isn’t food and medicine, it is to know Jesus as their Savior. Too many who
are navigating the waters of the social gospel, have had to compromise the
absolutes of the Bible and create unholy alliances in order to do the work
they are doing.

Never before has our silence and failure to lead been as evident as in the
war we have lost regarding making the sin of homosexuality an acceptable
mainstream lifestyle choice. Don’t believe me? Dear Abby is now on board
stating that it is OK to be gay ( http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21212639/ ).
You say big deal, who cares what Dear Abby says? It is just another example
of a long standing cultural icon who has reinforced that this choice of
sexual activity is acceptable and even desirable!

In case you missed it, Harry Potter author JK Rowling revealed that her
character Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts school for wizards in
training, is gay! She said her announcement was meant to help people become
more tolerant of gay people. So now the Potter books are not only helping to
educate children on how witchcraft, wizardry, and sorcery are acceptable,
but so is the choice by men to have sex with other men and women to have sex
with other women. All that is left is for Rowling to announce Hermione had
sex with Harry, got pregnant and had an abortion!

be outraged today, check out this poster of a newborn baby with a wristband
that says HOMOSEXUAL to drive home the myth that people are born gay,
instead of telling the truth that taking your pants off to have sex is a
CHOICE!!!

How did we get to this place as a nation? Men and women God called to lead
who led the church into their own little subculture, apart from mainstream
society. We retreated behind the four walls of the church into the comfort
and prosperity of the “Christian trough,” something satan was only too eager
to let us do since it removed the “salt” and “light” from the marketplace
and left it to his wolves to ravage.

Now when we step out of our comfortable little subculture back into the real
world, we are faced with babies being slaughtered, men marrying men and
women marrying women, porn and gambling everywhere you turn, filthy language
accepted as normal conversation, all of the media vehicles being used to
carry Satan’s lies to the masses to insure their souls will end up in hell,
and parades to celebrate a sin like homosexuality!!!

I love you and care about you so much. The sad fact is, we can’t turn back
the hands of time. Things are never going to be the way they used to be.
Those days are gone and over. However, in the wake of this gross and
unbridled sin are the destroyed lives of real people who bought the sweet
lies of sin and are now paying the price for their rebellion to God. This is
a new opportunity for the church and for God’s people to be the true hope
and answer for those who are still breathing, whose lives have been
devastated by sin, and who yearn for the peace and joy that can only come
from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

A byproduct of all this sin is the coming wrath of God and great persecution
on the church and God’s people. This is the time when all of the ways we
have figured out to divide ourselves will no longer be important, when those
who serve the Lord for mammon will fall away since it will no longer be
profitable, and those who aren’t serious about their faith will run from it.
Left will be a faithful remnant whose citizenship is not of this world and
whose goals are not earthly but Heavenly. It is this faithful group who will
help bring in a great harvest of souls as the final moments of human history
unfold.

My prayer for you today is that you become more bold in your witness for
Christ. Don’t emulate some of these so-called leaders who have been
programmed by their business handlers to never even utter the name of Jesus
so people aren’t offended and book sales aren’t hurt. It is at the name of
JESUS that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess Him Lord! The Bible
proclaims that there is only ONE NAME by which men are saved, the name of
JESUS! If we are ashamed of Jesus, He will be ashamed of us.

Take your stand for Jesus my friend, just like Oklahoma State Rep. Sally
Kern has. In a nation and world that has rejected our Lord and His Truth,
now more than ever He needs each one of his true followers to stand for Him.
Yes, this nation is no longer a Christian nation, and yes the war to stop
the sin of homosexuality from becoming mainstream has been lost, but when
this world as we know it comes to an end, sin will be defeated and the TRUTH
will prevail!

The More Perfect Union Of Barack HUSSEIN Obama (And Hillary Clinton And John McCain …)

For Believers, the important FACT to never forget is that the “more perfect union” Obama spoke of yesterday,  would be a union where people who choose to commit deviant sexual acts with the same sex are given special rights, while those who have no voice, innocent babies, are legally slaughtered.

The Truth About Eliot Spitzer Prostitute Kristen Ashley Alexandra Dupre: SHE WAS NOT ABUSED!

*Another one from Pastor Bill Keller. The fact that the truth is not being told about this woman, but instead they are peddling a story line to turn her into a sympathetic figure and Spitzer into her “male exploiter of a troubled young girl” is clear evidence that the media will not rest until it makes sexual immorality even more normalized and accepted in this country than it already is. The only thing more galling than how often the media lies is that they almost always get away with it because their lies are more preferable to the public than the truth. Portraying this woman as a victim actually justifies making her into a weeklong news story, putting her semi – topless on the cover of the world’s biggest pornographer and friend of conservatives and evangelicals Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post, and every other media outlet running image after image of her wearing as little as possible. Oh yes, let us not forget the radio stations that have been playing this aspiring singer’s music from her Myspace page. And while child molestation and other forms of child abuse are common, this case shows that all a person that needs or desires a public profile or image has to do is make an ambiguous charge that they were abused in some way, knowing full well that people will presume that it was domestic violence at the hands of your husband or boyfriend (regarding an adult woman) or sexual/physical abuse at the hands of your father or stepfather (regarding a juvenile). I still remember Halle Berry crying on Oprah Winfrey, after causing everyone to believe that David Justice had punched and hit her. But she could not SAY that Justice had hit her, because Justice would have then filed a multimillion dollar defamation and libel lawsuit against her. So her making an open – ended ambiguous allegation of abuse against him was just a PR tactic to force Justice to accept her financial demands in their divorce proceedings. After Justice returned fire by revealing how Halle Berry was doing what pretty much everyone in Hollywood does to get parts – making many of these actresses little different from Spitzer’s “Kristen”! – that was when Berry stopped going to Oprah, Ebony, Entertainment Tonight, etc. crying abuse and accepted Justice’s financial terms! Of course, the same media outlets that reported “Halle Berry cries on Oprah Winfrey when discussing how David Justice abused her!” never reported that the alleged abuse was a lie, just as they are now just fine with having people believe that “Kristen” became a prostitute because her father or stepfather molested her. With that said, merely because the media is willfully peddling lies IN THIS CASE does not mean that a high percentage of prostitutes, strippers, X – rated movie “actresses”, etc. were NOT molested or abused as children … in a shocking percentage of cases they were. That is all the more reason why Christians should leave the sex industry alone, and yes that includes most of the filth on TV and in the movies. Even the Chri$tian entertainment indu$try is more and more often relying on selling sex (or emulating the secular artists that sell sex) in their “work.” But the bottom line is that so long as the media are able to make it fit their agenda, they are willing to exploit lies. This girl wasn’t abused? So what! Let’s report it anyway because it allows us to portray her as a victim and increase public fascination with her, her body image, and the fantasies that it represents!

A nation in spiritual freefall that glorifies and rewards whoredom! In the
wake of the sex scandal that broke last week causing New York Governor
Elliot Spitzer to resign, was the public response to the high priced
prostitute he had most recently been with. After the news media tracked her
down and exposed her identity to the world, instead of being ashamed, she
eagerly embraced and began to cash in on her new found celebrity. Saddest
of all, is a nation that has elevated her to this celebrity status and will
be responsible for her making millions of dollars for her choice to break
the law and sell her body.

She was originally known as “Kristen,” the 22-year-old $4,000 an hour
prostitute at the center of the sex scandal involving former New York
Governor Elliot Spitzer. Her real name is Ashley Youmans, though she
recently took the name Ashley Alexandra Dupre as she tried to launch a
career in music. The initial reports about Ashley seemed to tell the sad
and familiar story of a young girl from a broken home who was abused, ran
away at 17, ended up in New York to pursue a career in music, had no money,
and turned to selling her body to pay the bills. It almost makes you feel
sorry for her and at least understand how she ended up in the world of high
dollar prostitution.

However, the real story of Ashley is much different. She is from a broken
home, but grew up with her mother and step father in an upscale New Jersey
community. There have been no reports of abuse of any kind, though she did
leave home at 17 after wrecking her Porsche and being told she wouldn’t get
another one. She left for North Carolina to live with her biological father, but never adjusted to the slower pace of life in North Carolina. So it was soon after her 18th birthday that Ashley left for New York City to pursue a career in music. (In other words, HER WHOLE STORY ABOUT BEING ABUSED AND RUNNING AWAY FROM HOME AT 17 IS A LIE!)

To pay the bills, she worked as a cocktail waitress in several upscale Manhattan nightclubs as a bottle girl. (MEANING THAT THIS GIRL HAD PLENTY OF MONEY AND HAD NO NEED OR REASON TO TURN TO PROSTITUTION!) These are the girls who work in theVIP areas of the club that cater to upscale, wealthy clientele who buy full
bottles of liquor and champagne and party all night. The clubs encourage their girls to be friendly to these upscale customers, even gong out on dates with them, to keep them coming back. Ashley quickly fell into the New York club scene, becoming a familiar figure despite the fact this party lifestyle was very expensive to maintain. Little did anyone know that she had entered the world of high dollar prostitution to pay for her lifestyle. (IN OTHER WORDS, TO PAY FOR NEW PORSCHES, NOT FOOD, CLOTHING, OR RENT!)

The story of Ashley is actually very scary, since she represents a new breed of young girls who have no fear, little morals, and are not guided by faith, but by their hedonistic appetite for sex, money, and all the finer things this world can offer. They are young, intelligent, have been blesed with great looks, and understand there are men with lots of money who will pay them thousands of dollars to have sex with them. These brazen and beautiful young girls have an appetite for uninhibited sex, and a lifestyle that requires lots of cash, selling themselves to rich men is the perfect answer.

I am very aware Ashley is not the world’s first prostitute and that it has been going on since the beginning of human history. A big reason I am dealing with this today is because as sad as this is, Ashley has now become a role model to millions of young girls. For girls who have grown up since birth being exposed to sex daily in every way imaginable, many becoming sexually active as early as 13 and 14, a huge percentage growing up in broken or blended homes, most having never even been to church or having any real exposure to faith, seeing daily how beauty is a commodity and an asset that can be bartered on the open market like any other commodity, all while living in a world that preaches (even in too many churches) that success is measured by your bank account and the toys you have, Ashley “Alexandra Dupre” Youmans has become the girl millions of girls want to be just like!

I can only challenge the young women reading this today that sin costs, and it is always a price higher than you ever thought or expected to pay. As glamorous as you may think Ashley’s life is, I can assure you it is anything but that. Doing the late night TV program for over 5 years, and due to the incredible number of adult businesses in Florida, I have dealt with hundreds of women over the years who were part of Ashley’s world. There is NOTHING glamorous about selling your body for money. NOTHING. It is a dark world
where EVERYONE loses, no matter how the media tries to sugar coat it.

It is a world of drug and alcohol addiction, of sexually transmitted disease, and physical danger. It is a world of broken and destroyed lives. Marriages are destroyed. Relationships with children are destroyed. Careers are destroyed. A persons ability to have a normal and Christ-centered sexual relationship is severely damaged. What money there is is usually lost or squandered. Many people commit illegal acts and go to jail. It robs a person of their self esteem. Whatever benefits anyone may appear to accrue, are all eventually wiped out at some point and a huge price is paid. God calls it sin. In the end, nobody wins and everyone loses, even Ashley.

I love you and care about you so much. I knew how sick this nation was, but even I was shocked that we are so spiritually bankrupt that we have taken a common prostitute and turned her into a national hero. Instead of condemning her sinful activities, we have glorified them and she will be making millions of dollars in the coming months. What a horrible message to send to young women, many of whom are simply looking for an excuse to destroy their lives in this way. At a time when they need to hear a message of hope through following God’s Word and that Jesus is their only answer, they hear the message loud and clear that their hope is in money and the material things of this world and their answer is to sell their bodies to
rich men to get it.

I pray today for young women not to be influenced by horrible choices Ashley has made in her life. I assure you that 20 years from now, she will be the first to tell you that it wasn’t worth it. Whatever fame she may acquire, whatever financial rewards she may experience, she has broken the law and despite being granted immunity to testify against the owners of the prostitution business, will have a criminal record. She has already greatly damaged her life at such a young age.

How is she ever supposed to have a normal, healthy relationship with a man if she does fall in love with someone and wants to get married? God’s wonderful gift of sex to be enjoyed by a man and women in the bonds of marriage will never be special for her. She has no conception or realistic understanding of money. This is all on top of the mental and emotional damage living such a lifestyle has done to her, even in a few short years. (Keller’s view of even the high end prostitution industry is in contrast with the view of feminists like Hillary Clinton, who calls them “sex workers”. Duke University, of lacrosse stripper fame, hosted a “sex workers symposium” on their campus recently, and the administration denied that they were being hypocritical for condemning the lacrosse athletes on one hand while approving this show on another.)

I pray today for Ashley and ask you to as well. I know deep down there is no real happiness, no real peace, no real joy. You can’t live your life in rebellion to God and attain those things, since they can’t be bought with a platinum card. You can only know true happiness, peace, and joy by being in a right relationship with Christ. I pray that through all of this, when the offers from scum like Larry Flynt and others stop pouring in, when her 15 minutes in the spotlight is over, that God will send the right person into
her life to talk to her about Christ, her soul, and the rest of her life.

I think back a few years ago to Donna Rice, the women who got caught up with Gary Hart and ended his political career. She has lived a quiet life mostly out of the spotlight and has done tremendous work in the area of keeping children safe from Internet predators. The key to her turning her life around was finding a real relationship with Christ. I pray that Ashley will turn to the Lord in her life as well, since He is the only true hope she has.

On Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s Apostate Pastor Jeremiah Wright

By the way, it was Keller that tipped me off to the fact that Oprah Winfrey had been a member of this “church” months ago, although the Los Angeles Times now claims that she stopped going. Interesting that people are just now coming around to this “story” AFTER Barack HUSSEIN Obama has all but wrapped up the Democratic nomination, as I dealt with this over a year ago: Lots Of Good Stuff On Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s September 11th – Justifying Church. Ah well. As Howard University graduate Jeremiah Wright is a liberation theology preacher, please read my entry The True Liberation Theology. As far as those of you that wish to claim that I have political motives for posting this devotional or attacking Barack HUSSEIN Obama in general, allow me to say that I personally see no substantive difference between Obama, Clinton, or McCain, and my position is that a Christian should not vote for any of them. I ran across the other day where Martin Luther stated that it was better to be governed by a wise Turk (Muslim) than a foolish Christian. That seems to fit the writings of Paul in Romans 13, especially when you consider the context: Rome was hardly a Christian or godly empire in any sense, yet Paul wrote to submit to proper authorities because all authority comes from God. But Obama, Clinton, and McCain do not meet the standards of “wise Turk” (or wise anything for that matter, let alone decent, moral, honest, truthful, etc.) in my humble estimation. Maybe the Constitution or Libertarian. I cannot consider the Green Party nominee Ralph Nader for regrettably he is pro – abortion.

What kind of pastor condones the sin of homosexuality, killing babies, and preaches a gospel of racial division? The pastor for 20 years and spiritual mentor of Democratic Presidential candidate B. Hussein Obama! I found it amusing the past few days that all of the news media is focusing on the racially divisive and anti-American rhetoric of Dr. Jeremiah Wright, who for over 3 decades was the Senior Pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois.For those who have been reading the Daily Devotional and/or watching the Liveprayer television program, I have told you about Dr. Wright for many years now, since he pastors the church Oprah called home and Senator Obama has been part of for the past 2 decades.Dr. Wright not only married Senator Obama and his wife and christened their 2 children, but he has also been the spiritual mentor to the Senator and helped shape his theological beliefs. He has been prominent in the news the past few days because the public has been horrified after being exposed to his racist and anti-American views that he has espoused for over 30 years in his church.

In trying to do damage control Friday, Senator Obama ended any affiliation Dr. Wright had with his Presidential campaign and the Senator went on numerous news programs stating that he was not aware Dr. Wright held these views. B. Hussein Obama is a liar!

As many of you know, I started my ministry in the city of Chicago in 1992.
Two of the members of my Board of Directors who have been with me since day one, are both black pastors of churches on the south side of Chicago. I
have had the joy and privilege to preach in several dozen black churches in
the Chicagoland area in the early days of my ministry. Anyone who has had
ANY dealing with the churches in Chicago know who Dr. Jeremiah Wright is and that he preaches a gospel of black separatism with anti-American views.

In theological circles it is known as “black liberation theology,” a perverse theology originally taught by James Cone that seeks to contribute to the liberation of black people from the perceived racism in the country and in Christianity.

Please hear me very clear. Black liberation theology is a perverse view of the Scriptures and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a radical view held by a very small minority of black pastors. This is NOT representative of the black church or the overwhelming majority of black pastors who preach and teach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ without looking at it through the lens of color. Every black pastor I know condemns Dr. Wright and this perverse racist theology.

Sadly, to the non-churched masses and to white Americans who have little or no exposure to the black church, seeing and hearing Dr. Wright’s radical views of the world and the Scriptures, will cause them to assume this is the position held by all black churches. (My note: some black people in their zeal to defend Obama are stating precisely that.) Again, Dr. Wright is in a very small minority of pastors who hold to these perverted views and this is NOT representative of the black church or Christians who happen to be black.

Having said that, let me reiterate that B. Hussein Obama is a liar when he says he was not aware of these beliefs held by his pastor. That is impossible since everyone in Chicago knows about Dr. Wright and his radical and racially divisive theology. His teachings attracted many young, upwardly mobile, successful blacks who agree with his views on race and social issues. They joined his church not only for the spiritual experience,
but for the networking opportunities it provided. (My note: sadly, making them no different from most Christians regardless of race or theology.)

It was the perfect church home for Senator Obama, who had no Christian background or Biblical upbringing, and was a rising star in the Daley political machine in Chicago, It was the perfect church home and message for Senator Obama who was dealing with the social and economic challenges of blacks on the south side of Chicago early in his political career.

The United Church of Christ is a predominantly white and very liberal denomination that supports and condones sins like homosexuality and women killing their babies. Like many liberal denominations, it focuses on the
“social gospel,” dealing with the economically poor rather than the spiritually poor. (My note: although the Bible tells us to deal with the economically poor as well, it is both not either or, do not turn aside from God’s commandments to the right or to the left!) These types of churches focus on the financially down and out and needy, using the parts of the Bible that speak to helping those who are less fortunate, while brushing over the passages that speak to living a life holy and acceptable to God in accordance with His Word. This is where Senator Obama comes up with the laughable notion that the Sermon on the Mount teaches homosexuality is an acceptable choice as he recently stated in the news. In his bid for the White House, B. Hussein Obama has received great support from those in the gay and lesbian community since he will champion their desire to make gay marriage legal in all 50 states and to break down all barriers to gay adoption, as well as other issues favorable to giving those who choose to commit the sin of homosexuality special rights.Senator Obama also supports the legalizes slaughter of babies. He has been 100% consistent in his political career both in the Illinois Senate and the United States Senate, to support the legalized practice of infanticide. I wonder how he can go home at night, look at his two precious little girls, yet vote to support the legalized murder of babies. Again, this is all in line with the liberal theology and social gospel teachings of his pastor and church for the past 20 years.

I say that any “pastor” and any “church” that supports slaughtering babies should never be referred to with those names. How can you call yourself a pastor, how can a church call itself a church, how can a person honestly call themselves a follower of Jesus Christ, and support a woman making the decision to kill her baby? That is inconsistent with the teachings of Christ and the Bible, and even most hard hearted heathens who deny the existence of God understands that it is murder!

I love you and care about you so much. My guess is that Senator Obama will soon leave Trinity UCC to appease his political detractors. The fact is, he is 20 years too late. He, like ALL who are part of that church and most who are not part of Trinity, knew of the perverse theology and racist, anti-American views of Dr. Jeremiah Wright. This is not revelation to anyone in Chicago. I have told you about Dr. Wright and that church for
many years now.

Senator Obama has to make the same decision we all have to make. It was Jesus who said you can’t serve two masters. Is our master Jesus or do we serve another master? If Jesus is his master, Senator Obama needs to denounce the sin of homosexuality and take a stand for life. If politics is his master, he will continue to support these sins.

At some point, each person has to decide if you love Jesus or if you love this world. We make that decision many times throughout the day when we choose to obey God or disobey Him. If we say we love the Lord, we will obey Him. If we say we love the Lord and disobey Him, we obviously don’t love Him enough since it was Jesus who said, “If you love Me, you will obey Me.” I pray today that Senator Obama will love Jesus enough to obey Him, and I pray that you and I will love Him enough to obey Him.

The Lie Of Universalism And The Reality Of Hell

The reality of hell. Sunday afternoon I got home from the office, took a
nap, and got up around 3pm. It was one of those rare moments of “down
time,” when I was able to just kick back and relax for a few hours. I
turned on the television to see what was on, and almost immediately saw that
on one of the PBS stations, they were airing the Osmond Family’s 50th
Anniversary performance from Las Vegas. At age 50, I grew up with the
Osmond family and their music. They were always on different variety and
music TV programs in the 60s and 70s. Of course, you had the Donny and
Marie Show that aired in the 70s. Their music was always on the radio
during those years. They were a part of the culture I grew up in. So it
was a pleasant few hours watching all of the brothers along with Marie
performing, singing some of their many hit songs.

As I watched the 2-hour special, I remembered how in those turbulent years
of the late 60s and early to mid 70s, the Osmonds were different from most
of the musical greats of that era. It was a time of great rebellion in the
nation, the sexual revolution, open drug use, a time of defiance to all
authority, including Gods. So it was refreshing to see this wholesome
family who stayed clear of so many of the problems that most in the music
industry fell into during that time. I do distinctly remember watching the
Osmond’s on many of the Christmas specials like Andy Williams and Bob Hope.
They would sing some of the great Christmas carols and often mention “their
church.” At 10, 11, 12, even 15, I knew that “their church” was the Mormon
church, and deep down, even though I didn’t know what it was, I knew there
was something different about “their church,” and “their faith,” as they
called it.

It wouldn’t be until many years later during my time in seminary that I came
to know the truth about the false theology of the Osmond’s “church.” I
still loved their music, but I was hurt knowing that this family was
following a lie to hell. As I sat back and enjoyed the PBS special Sunday
afternoon, I couldn’t stop thinking that these wonderfully gifted
performers, this family that I had grown up with, would die and end up
forever in hell for following the lies of a murdering pedophile named Joseph
Smith. The fond memories of my childhood, the joy of hearing some of their
great songs again after many years, was all tempered with the reality that
Donny, Marie, Jimmy, and the rest of the brothers were all going to end up
in hell with their departed parents if they continued to follow the false
teachings of “their church.”

It was during this time of mixed feelings, that satan, THE LIAR, began to
speak to me. He said, ” Bill, surely the wonderful God you love and serve
would never send such a precious family to hell who has done so much good
for so many people around the world. God’s mercy and grace are endless, and
He will understand that these good people simply were born into a family
that believed the lies of Mormonism. Look at them. Have you ever seen a
more wonderful family. No God could send these wonderful people to a place
as horrible as hell !”

Let me ask you a question. Have you ever looked at your unsaved mom or dad,
husband or wife, son or daughter, someone in your family that you love and
care about, a dear friend, a neighbor, someone you work with or go to school
with, who you know is not saved and hear satan tell you that same lie? It
is a lie we want to believe. Nobody wants to think about the people they
love and care about spending eternity in hell. It is much easier to buy
into the lies of satan that God would never send the people you love and
care about to a place as horrible as hell to be punished for all eternity.

This is the lie of universalism that says all roads lead to God, that
because of God’s love and mercy, everyone will somehow make it to Heaven.
This is the same lie that sadly is preached from the pulpits of many of our
churches. You have the man who pastors the largest church in the world,
Joel Osteen, going on national TV and helping to spread this lie. If that
is true, then Jesus is a liar and the Bible is not true! If that is true
then Jesus’ death on the cross meant nothing and you don’t have to put your
faith in Jesus to be saved, but simply believe whatever you want to believe
and when you die you will make it to Heaven!

Someone is lying! It is either satan or Jesus! John 8:44 says that satan
is a liar, he is the father of lies, that when he speaks, he speaks his
native language, lying! Who are you gong to believe, satan the liar, or
Jesus, the One who died for your sins???

My friend, hell is a very real place. The fact is, God doesn’t send anyone
to hell. The only way a person ends up in hell is because they choose to go
there. The Truth is, there is only ONE PLAN of salvation, ONE WAY to be
saved, and that is by faith in Jesus Christ. There are not many roads that
lead to God, only one. You can’t believe whatever you want and get to
Heaven. The ONLY WAY to Heaven is by putting your faith in Jesus. You see,
we are all sinners, and it is our sin that separates us from a Holy God. A
person may look to us like they are a “good person,” but the Bible says that
there are NONE THAT ARE GOOD, NO NOT ONE!

That means no matter how good the Osmonds look, no matter how good Mitt
Romney and his family look, no matter how good those family members and
friends in your life look on the outside, the fact is they are all sinners.
The Bible proclaims that we have ALL sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.
You see, God doesn’t look at the outside of a person, He sees their heart!
God sees a person’s sins. Is He a God of grace and mercy? Yes! He is also
a God of JUDGMENT! God loved us enough to make a way for our sins to be
forgiven, so that we didn’t have to suffer the eternal punishment we
deserve. By putting your faith in Jesus, the One who died for your sins,
you can have the assurance of being in Heaven when this brief journey thru
life is over.

I love you and care about you so much. The fact is, we are each accountable
for our eternal souls. You, me, Donny Osmond, and each one in his family.
Sadly, the Osmond’s have CHOSEN to believe and follow the lies of the Mormon
cult. I have no doubt they have been told many times over the years that
their faith is in the ramblings of a conman named Joseph Smith, and that
they either believe the Jesus of the Bible or what Smith taught his
followers. Sadly, they have rejected the Truth for the lies of Smith and
are following those lies to the fires of hell. Pray for them, that they
might turn from the lies of the Mormon cult and embrace the real Truth found
in God’s Word alone. I pray that one day I might get a few minutes with
Donny and simply challenge him to think about who he believes, the words of
Jesus, or the ramblings of a conman that lived just a few hundred years ago.

I pray today that this message will challenge you to not buy into the lie of
satan that your unsaved family members and friends will somehow make it to
Heaven without Jesus. if they die without Jesus, they will be lost for all
eternity. Ultimately it is their choice, just like we each have to make
that choice in our life. However, know today that hell is a very real
place, and sadly, it is the eternal home for those who die rejecting the
Lord. I will pray with you today for those family members and friends in
your life who need to know Jesus, that they will open their hearts to His
love and truth, and accept Jesus as their personal Savior by faith.

One of the classic Osmond songs was “One Bad Apple.” The lyrics say. “One
bad apple don’t spoil the whole bunch, girl.” The fact is, one bad apple
like Joseph Smith, or L. Ron Hubbard, or Oprah, can lead many souls to the
everlasting fires of hell. Hell is a very real place, and sadly, it is
where those who make the choice to reject Jesus will end up.
