Please re-read Luke 11:28. Jesus does not say, "No, but rather..." He says "Yea, but rather" In other words, Yes to "blessed is the womb that bore". He shifts the focus for his teaching point, but he does not deny the truth the woman uttered.
Instead of seeking out extreme examples of Roman Catholic devotion from the web or the popular realm, learn what the doctrine of Mary is: an extension of the doctrine of Christ. For this you must start with the council of Ephesus, which answered a group of well-meaning Christians who were the first to object to some of the honoring of Mary. Note that this objection did not come until 430, long after honoring Mary and asking her for prayers was an established practice.

Heal, next time I visit my dear grandmother's house in México I will take a snapshot of her altar to La Virgen de Guadalupe and post it.

Truly it is a sight... México is steeped in this idolatry.

Independent Conservative: Keep it on, brother in the faith! I am basically through with the Catholic content for now. I do want to do something on apostolic succession myth and the early church history outside of Rome, but that will take awhile. This was actually stuff that I wanted to do for quite awhile, but had on the backburner, but Benedict's proclamation combined with Bill Keller's daily devotional motivated me.

Jesus Christ Specifically Forbade Mary Veneration In Luke 11:27-28!

If you didn’t already recognize, I’m no longer playing soft ball on false doctrine. And if I’m true to my word, that I love Catholics although I am not one and never will be, I must be honest with them so that they might repent. Ha...
