Another Challenge To Mormons And Mitt Romney

Posted by Job on March 24, 2007

See link here. Oh yeah, and all of you folks who love your nation and Republican Party more than you love your God (// types), you too. All right Mormons and Romney fans, I have been dumping a lot of stuff on you and not responding to your replies due to time constraints. I concede that in doing so I have been treating you unfairly. I will TRY MY BEST to catch up with you fine people this weekend. And yes, I do mean it when I say “fine people.” I honestly must say that all of the Mormons that have crossed my path (with the exception of this one couple, but let us not consider them) have been extremely nice, charming, beautiful people. And you know what? That is actually what motivates me to keep going after Mormons the way I do. Their loving personalities and demeanors, their commitment to their religion and their families and communities, their wonderful institutions and acts of charity … why should all of that be in vain? I say the same thing about my Muslim friends with their incredible devotion and discipline, praying more times in a day than many Christians pray in a year. That’s right, I said it. I have even heard that Muslims actually are required by their religion to pray for Christians and Jews! But why should that be in vain? My Muslim and Mormon friends, despite your many great works and your love for your families and religion, that is not going to save you. Works cannot save you. Only God can save you. Only accepting the true God through the true gospel can save you, not works. Works cannot cover your sin. Only Blood can cover your sin, and only the Blood of one man, the Word of God who became flesh and was God on the earth and is now God in Heaven, the one who was raised from the dead as we will one day be (save those who will be bodily assumed) is an acceptable covering for only that man’s Blood was worthy for all other men’s blood was sinless except that man’s.

No, Muslims, Jesus Christ was not merely a prophet. No, Mormons, Jesus Christ was not a created being, the spirit brother of Satan. And how interesting that BOTH your religions regard Adam as a prophet? Why? Because BOTH your religions rely on extrabiblical revelation! BOTH your religions claim that the Bible is not good enough; that it is incomplete. And BOTH your religions have claims that contradict the Bible. How can that be? How can God be at odds against Himself and not be a lie? How can the Bible claim in John 1:1 that Jesus Christ is pre – existent, part of God, and is God and the Book of Mormon claim that Jesus Christ is not God and that He instead was created? There is NO WAY that both can be true, because they make claims that are 180 degrees apart. One has to be true and another has to be a lie. So if the Book of Mormon contradicts the Book of John (not to mention Mark, Matthew, Luke, I John, II John, Romans, I and II Corinthians, Galatians, Revelation, etc.), then why claim the Bible to be true?

And Muslims … you say that you are the true people of the promise, which went to Isaac and not Ishmael. Some sincere Muslim fellow sent me a very long Muslim apologetics statement explaining the Ishmael/Isaac thing that got caught in my spam blocker, I tried to restore it, but have not been able to find it. But do you not realize that your claims regarding Jesus Christ and the nature of God are the very same as that of the Jews? Both Muslims and Jews claim that Jesus Christ, whom you call Issa, was not the begotten son of God, for God does not beget, is not begotten, and cannot become flesh. Indeed, the notion of God taking on humiliation by becoming flesh is deeply offensive to both Muslims and Jews, and both Muslims and Jews regard Christians as polytheists and pagans. Further, Jews and Muslims (and Mormons) all reject salvation by grace in favor of justification by works. How can three religions that are so different make claims that are so similar? I hold that it is because Jews, Muslims, and Mormons all reject the New Testament in favor of post – New Testament revelations and traditions, all of which converge to an extent and in a number of ways that are shocking.

Well, please watch the video (which is on Independent Conservative’s site, which is where the link will take you) and feel free to respond at will. Thank you.

One Response to “Another Challenge To Mormons And Mitt Romney”

I’m a Mormon. I believe we may all be saved through the atonement of Christ if we but have faith in him. We are never justified by our own works; for we are all sinners. We all come woefully short of the mark (perfection). We all would be forever lost and damned if not for the atoning sacrifice of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. I repeat, we only need have faith in his name. I beleive we show our faith in him by following his commandments. Faith is much more than belief. For “faith without works is dead.” Faith is putting belief into action. Thus we are saved through the atonement of Christ after all we can do. “All we can do”, amounts to nothing. Rather, nothing but the widows mite. It is all we have and it is how we show our faith and devotion to him.

    Respectfully, Michael
