Oh Sure, NOW They Leave (And Stop Giving Money To) Ted Haggard’s Church

Why leave now people? Because you are EMBARRASSED? Because PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT YOU NOW? Because to attend the church NOW would make you UNPOPULAR? After all POPULARITY was the ONLY REASON WHY YOU EVER ATTENDED THIS CHURCH IN THE FIRST PLACE, right? It was all about the scene, the happening hip mega – church with all of its entertaining amenities! And about helping me reach my potential, fulfill my dreams, allowing the real me to come out! Oh yes, and something about, what’s his name again … this God or Jesus or Holy Spirit person … is it one person or three or three in one, I don’t know this church never talks about doctrine or the Bible anyway and that’s good, because the first mention of God’s Commandments or punishment of sin and I am out of here. Oh, so now you leave. Why now? Don’t leave! Be loyal! Stay! BECAUSE IF YOU WEREN’T LEAVING WHEN STUFF LIKE THIS WAS GOING ON THE WHOLE TIME, WHY ARE YOU LEAVING NOW?

And get this: why was there no spiritual deliverance done? Aren’t you folks supposed to be EVANGELICALS? Bible – believing fundamentalists? This is a man that his own supporters at his church stated was “out of touch with reality” after he was exposed, and this follows a long pattern of bizarre behavior in and out of the pulpit as described in the article link above. What, going to a few sessions with a SECULAR COUNSELING SESSION is supposed to cure stuff like this?

And that is the rub. If you are going to go around talking about stuff like “casting out evil spirits” and other stuff that is in the Bible, then you won’t be able to run your megachurches in suburbia filled with fashionable upperclass respectable people. Start talking about spiritual warfare or anything else resembling real Christianity, and your religious country – club members will leave. This is what I will say though: why even pretend to be standing on the Bible? Why tell people in your congregation that homosexuality is wrong in the first place? Don’t pretend that there aren’t homosexuals in that church. No way you can have a congregation that size without homosexuals. Especially when HOMOSEXUALS ARE OVERREPRESENTED IN THE CHURCH! That’s right. It’s true. Everyone knows it, but no one wants to talk about it. That is one of the reasons why people outside the church mock us as hypocrites, because they all know. They hear all the gossip. They see us on TV.

So why are you going to teach that homosexuality is wrong unless you are going to offer the homosexuals in your church a solution? If you are going to preach against homosexuality and gay marriage, as Ted Haggard did, why don’t you offer homosexuals a solution, which is spiritual deliverance? If you are going to allow a homosexual to come sit in your church, and you are going to preach a fire – and – brimstone sermon against his sin, AND THEN NOT GIVE THE HOMOSEXUAL WHAT HE NEEDS TO BE FREED FROM THAT SIN, THEN YOU ARE NOT HELPING THAT HOMOSEXUAL! What are you doing? OPPRESSING HIM! You are OPPRESSING THE HOMOSEXUAL if you are going to tell him that he is bound, AND NOT USING THE POWER OF YESHUA HAMASHIACH TO SE THIM FREE! YESHUA HAMASHIACH CAME TO SET THE CAPTIVES FREE FROM DEATH, SIN, SICKNESS, AND THE EVIL SPIRITS THAT CAUSE THEM!

But you folks aren’t interested in freeing any homosexuals. You are interested in having your suburban religious country clubs. Telling someone in your congregation to stand up so that you can cast devils out of him … no one is going to stand for that. All the people would stand up and leave. That $5 million that you are raking in every quarter – tax free! – would dry right up! You know, be as dry as the messages that get preached every Sunday; devoid of any power, truth, or Ruach Hakadosh anointing.

You “fundamentalist” megachurches, if you aren’t going to start casting the demons of sexual perversion out of your homosexual members, then you need to stop oppressing them by preaching that homosexuality is a sin. And while you at it, stop calling yourself a “Bible believer”, Biblical literalst”, “fundamentalist”, or “evangelical” because you are none of those things, and while you are at it stop calling yourself a preacher and the arena that you meet in every week a church, because you aren’t and it isn’t.
