The State Of Christianity I
Posted by Job on February 13, 2007
Recently, I was watching Christian television, and the preacher exclaimed “I just tell you, some of you READ THE BIBLE TOO MUCH!” When he said it, his ENTIRE CONGREGATION (save hopefully a few sincere or at least cautious souls) ROARED WITH APPROVAL. Now, they were not robotically cheering along everything the pastor says as a learned response, as goes on in successful churches of this sort (charismatic) when responding to a very gifted orator behind the pulpit. And it was not a tempered, regular, or even enthusiastic applause. It was a long, loud, raucous, vigorous ovation that was specific to the pastor’s statement, with various members of the audience overheard shouting in response “Yes, yes, they certainly do, I know people just like that who read their Bibles too much!” And then, to the continued roaring approval of the crowd, the preacher began to mock people whose dedication to the study and learning of the Word of God struck him as excessive in some way. It would have been one thing if his point was that these people spent too much time reading and hearing the Word and not enough doing the Word. Jesus Christ Himself spoke of such people in the parable of the sower, and it was a major theme in the Book of James. No, but this pastor was criticizing people merely for reading the Bible too much, and particularly was denouncing those who read the Bible and came to him with Bible questions, with revelations and interpretations, and with insights on their spiritual development and maturity and seeking guidance. In other words, this pastor was THREATENED and ANGERED by people in his church whose love and dedication to God and His Word exceeded his own, and was exceedingly wroth in jealously against them! Not only that, but his entire congregation was filled to the brim with these same demons (birds of a feather walk together, how can two walk together unless they be agreed), and instead of challenging himself and his congregation to match the zealotry for Christ of his members that were excelling in their study of God’s Word, he acted as a stumblingblock for the very people that he was supposed to be leading, guiding, and encouraging, and furthermore he lead his entire congregation into the very same sin of being a mocking accuser as he! Oh, what condemnation will be upon his entire congregation and him especially on judgment day, and in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach I pray that those congregants that he tried to shame into being lukewarm left his church, and if they have not that they will see this (even if only in the spirit realm) and leave immediately.
And this is the worst part. Perhaps you have heard the scandals concerning Trinity Broadcasting Network’s cancelling such shows as Hal Lindsay’s “The International Intelligence Briefing” and the late Zola Leavitt’s TV show because they - gasp! - committed the ABSOLUTE CRIME of calling Islam a false religion, and then having the UNMITIGATED GALL of exposing precisely what vile acts people who give themselves over to demonic possession by following false religions such as Islam do. Why? Because Trinity Broadcasting Network is trying to get on the air in Muslim states - where access to the airwaves is government controlled - and he does not want to offend the powerbrokers. Some have alleged that TBN is more interested in gaining financial backers from the Muslim world than he is winning converts. When you consider that the founder of TBN allowed Jeremiah Cummings to come on his show and IN HIS PRESENCE CLAIM THAT A PERSON COULD LEARN TO FOLLOW CHRIST BY READING THE KORAN, WHICH CLAIMS THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS MERELY A PROPHET AND NOT THE SON OF GOD AND PART OF THE HOLY TRINITY, AND EVEN AS PROPHETS IS A LESSER PROPHET THAN MOHAMMED! PAUL CROUCH ACTUALLY LET THIS PERSON SIT BEFORE HIM AND CLAIM THAT THE KORAN WAS LEGITIMATELY INSPIRED BY GOD WITHOUT CHALLENGING HIM! And soon after, Jeremiah Cumming’s TV show popped up on TBN; a fellow who just became a Christian a few years ago getting a show on the world’s largest Christian TV network when ministers of renown who have been preaching for DECADES either cannot afford to get on TBN or cannot be approved for a timeslot because TBN is unsure of their ability to draw ratings. How is Jeremiah Cummings able to pay for this timeslot, as he is a new minister with a small church? Is TBN giving him airtime because having this fellow on is part of his plan of getting on the air in Muslim countries?
Of course, this should come as no surprise, as TRINITY Broadcasting Network has been very helpful in the advancement of the careers of such people as T. D. Jakes, Noel Jones, and many other ANTI - TRINITIARIAN ONENESS PENTECOSTALS! Consider this: the person that TBN used to lobby for acceptance of the growing and financially lucrative Oneness Pentecostal market into the mainstream evangelical movement was Clarence McClendon, a fellow who claims that God told him to divorce his wife and marry another woman. He also allows a prominent gospel singer, Yolanda Adams, who dresses like any secular singer who uses their body (lust!) to sell records and has been divorced twice and claimed in Jet Magazine that “her SECOND marriage was just for a season” to host “Praise The Lord” on a regular basis. I recall this recent episode of “Praise The Lord” where J. Moss and Israel Houghton were speaking of how the love of God was moving through their marriage and how their spouses were such a help to them in their lives and ministries, and it seemed as if Miss “My Marriage Was For A Season” was being stabbed with hot knives, the look of pain on her face as she heard two men talk about how they contended against the devil to defend the families and marriages that God had blessed them with. They also allowed Arnold Schwarzennegar, a pro - abortion pro - homosexual politician with a notorious hedonistic personal life, to appear as a guest on “Praise The Lord.” They also allowed Bill Gray, a minister who advocated similar views, to host “Praise The Lord”, and allow a long string of Hollywood celebrities who are very much living the Hollywood lifestyle (and many of them cavort with other famous preachers and gospel and Christian artists) come on TBN to profess their salvation and devotion to Christianity and “how they worship the Lord their own way.”
So I have to ask you regarding this … how is it that Christian broadcasting has time for anti - Trinitarians, people who claim that God nullified His Own Word in terms of the Holy institution of marriage, and people who claim that the Bible is NOT the final revelation or authority and that Christianity is not the only path to Heaven (universalism!), and people who MOCK those who are devoted to God’s Word, BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR PEOPLE WHO STAND AGAINST ISLAM AND ALL OTHER LIES AND FALSE RELIGIONS BUT FOR THE TRUTH!
If I call all of this apostate Christianity and warn of God’s impending wrath and judgment upon this nation because of it, am I being … JUDGMENTAL??? Well, no, because God will be the judge. And that is PRECISELY WHY THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE CONCERNED, AS SHOULD BE THEIR FOLLOWERS AND FAMILY MEMBERS AND CONGREGANTS! These people have READ the Bible. They have SEEN God’s warnings to the churches in Revelation 2 and 3 against compromise with the world, against going after filthy lucre, against being unwilling to separate themselves from sinners, about allowing false doctrines and religions to blend with Christianity. They KNOW what will happen to the people of God who fail to come out of Babylon. And yet they carry on like this anyway! It is as if they are taking God for granted. They are so full of pride because of their works that they do not think that they have to adhere closely to the teachings of Jesus Christ anymore. And no, this is not about TBN. Why? Because TBN is still on the air. These televangelists are still on the air. Why are they? Because of PEOPLE LIKE YOU. They say so during their own pledges and commercials. People like you watch them. People like you send in money. People like you buy their merchandise. So, people like you support a bunch of Bible reading bashers, anti - Trinitarians, Koran justifiers, spouse traders, and so forth. I am not saying that all of these people are going to bust hell wide open, but my goodness, don’t we have the power and ability to only support with our time and money people who are at least TRYING to do what God says?
A televangelist whose name I will not give hinted to me me in response to an email that I sent to him defending TBN that I should not be surprised if Mormons start popping up on one of their networks one day. If Mitt Romney wins the Presidency or even gets the Republican nomination, that day might come sooner than we think! Technorati tags: Noel Jones Yolanda Adams Clarence McClendon

The State Of Christianity, Lord Help Us!
Many churches have become infested with lies involving things like the Prosperity Gospel and the Oneness/anti-Trinity Gospel. These FALSE gospels are leading many astray from the true teachings of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Thank you for this post. I only occasional stop a really listen to TBN–mostly because I get so offended with how much like the rest of the “world” they try to appear. I am not impressed with gold and silver, or fancy sets, or worldly entertainment, or socially acceptable speaches. Most teaching are empty and vague. People are starving for truth and light. What a shame to have access to so many souls and waste it with false teachings.

I am glad you are standing up for what you believe and is right. TBN will fall, because they are kicking God out of their program and formulating their own doctrine. It is good that you are exposing the false teachings of TBN; so that others will not follow them.

Karen Bishop:
I thank you for your kind words. I encourage you to take up the fight to prevent God’s people from being destroyed for the lack of knowledge as well.

From your comments, I know that many disagree with the judgments posted on your site. I believe that you feel a certain responsibility to point out the error in those whom you criticize. Indeed, some of the very flaws you note are ones that I have observed. However, you appear to look for and magnify those flaws rather than focus on the messages and the lives of those you condemn. It is amazing to me that those ministers you attack have great ministries that win so many souls to the Lord, feed the poor, have outreaches in many countries including the USA. I have followed the majority of these ministers, not slavishly, but as one who seeks the face of God. Much of what you publish sounds like gossip and opinion mixed with some truth. This is a dangerous recipe for confusion and misleading others who have not heard or studied or benefitted from the sincere testimony of those you persecute. Make no mistake. This site is a form of persecution in that many who would be won to the Lord will develop cynocism and confirmation of judgmental attitudes. Your knowledge of the word and your desire to serve your Lord and Savior may better be used in winning souls rather than contributing to the distrust that some Christians have of others of different faiths, and experiences from their own. For example, I watched the program with Yolanda Adams and Mary Mary. They have the sweetest personalities and love for the Lord and yet speak the language of youthful blacks. They are positive role models for today’s young people, and especially, young ladies. Your comments on the attractiveness and dress of women preachers have me wondering where your mind is. Our Lord and Savior reminded us to first remove the beam from our own eyes before trying to remove the mote from the eyes of those we criticize. That’s a simple but important rule that helps me to forgive others and leave the judging to God. He knows the real you and me. And by the way, I am a black woman who considers both Imus and rappers who denigrate black women offensive. Both should be condemned. Connecting this to censorship of the Church is a twisted way of thinking. Jesus commanded us to love others as we love ourselves, to think more highly of others than ourselves, to judge not lest we be judged, not to give way to Phariseism or promoting the traditions of men above those of God. I hope I am encouraging you and others to look to Jesus as our only role model for what is good and perfect. Mercifully, His shed Blood covers our multitude of sins and we are works in progress. In the final analysis, we shall be changed in His image to immortality in a twinkling of an eye. That is the hope that we have in Jesus and of Heaven: not by our own works but by His grace.
In His Name,
